First, we drove to New Orleans and very much enjoyed our visit. We stayed at Embasey Suites which was an excellent hotel. We chose this cruise as the port of embarkation was half-way between both families. It also had Grand Cayman. We were given times to embark, but we had a mishap and were late SO we did have about a 30 minute wait to get on board. My husband and I had an inside room which was larger than most inside rooms. There was plenty of drawers and closet space. Because the LIDO deck was so crowded, we ate almost all meals in the main dining room. While not always warm, they did wait on you. Service was slow. While none of the meals were remarkable, they were certainly okay. The Dream is laid out in a crazy way. Elevators were extremely slow. I did not like this ship. Only two very small pools and no pool in the Adults only area. There was never swimming room, mostly just standing room in both pools and nowhere for kids to swim and have fun. My Grandkids really enjoyed the Kid's Club. They could not wait to get there every day. Service in the bars---what service?? One night, my husband and I went to four different bars and were never asked if we would like a drink. You actually had to go to the bar yourself and order any drink you received. Others in our family purchased the soda package and they had to go to a bar every time they wanted a drink. While our cabin steward was good, they only come once a day. We had towel animals every night, but no chocolate. While we greatly enjoyed the time with family, we would not choose this ship again.
