Embarkation: We stayed overnight at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport Hilton, with a quick taxi to the port arriving a little after 11:00. No lines, no waiting, on the ship in 20 minutes. The smoothest embarkation ever! Ship: The ship was in great shape. We stayed in a concierge class cabin, and spent ample time on the balcony for breakfast and late afternoon snacks. Service: Celebrity takes service seriously. Staff knows your name, drink, food preferences. You name it. Our waiter was Melwyn, and our cabin steward was Asis. Both ensured that all of our needs were met. One classic Celebrity experience that highlights the little differences amongst other cruise lines occurred while we in Grand Cayman. The wind was such that the ships in port that day had to use another pier (Spotts?) away from the city center. It was so small that 3 ships were sent away, leaving us, Carnival Freedom, and RCL Liberty of the Seas. When we returned from our day at the beach, there were two huge lines of people waiting to board tenders in the heat. As we got closer to the gate, a man waived to us and said "Celebrity?" There was no line for Celebrity, and as we got to the entrance, there was the iced towels and cold water or punch waiting. I could feel the looks from the Carnival and RCL passengers we passed by. Dining: Overall, the dining experience remains very good. We ate breakfast some days on the balcony and used concierge class room service, while others in the buffet. Waffles, eggs, etc.. all very good. We also enjoyed the Aqua Spa cafe for lunch. Outstanding every day. We also enjoyed a little sushi or tapas before dinner. We spent each night in the San Marco dining room, with one trip to Ocean's Liners, which continues to impress both for food quality and service. Activities: Two enrichment lecturers were on board. One was a marine biologist who gave presentations on various Caribbean topics, while the other gave Tai Chi classes. In addition there were several wine appreciation courses. The fitness area was well furnished with weight machines and treadmills etc.. As for the pool area, I noticed a great improvement from past cruises, when it comes to chair hogging. There was always a lounge chair available, and I observed the pool butlers taking towels off of absentee chairs throughout the cruise. Port and Excursions: Grand Cayman- we took a taxi to Royal palms beach and rented a couple of chairs at the Reef. Very nice. Cartegena- We went with a small cruise critic group and used a private guide. While the street venders do approach, I did not find them overly aggressive. The view from the monastery atop the hill provided an unforgettable view. Panama- The ship experienced an engine problem and arrived 5 hours late to Panama, and our original excursion was cancelled. We were able to join the railroad excursion that took us to the Miraflores locks. Costa Rica- We took the zip line and aerial tram ride through the rainforest. This was a great excursion, but be aware of the long bus ride to get there. Cozumel- We arranged for an ATV ride and beach stop. Entertainment: We only attended the hypnotist show, which was very funny. I have read many bad reviews of this show, but found it entertaining. Fusion, the band was on deck and in lounges, and provided great music. We were off the ship by 9:00 with no problems. Overall, our expectations were met. We are ready to go again!

Cabin Review

Cabin 8120
Cabin was roomy enough to hide all luggage, provide a couch to sit on, a table/vanity area, a decent sized bathroom, with sufficint closet space for all of our cloths. And the balcony was great. No wear noted. it would be nice to upgrade to larger flat screen TV's.
