Maasdam Cruise Review by Cruizer Bill
- Sail Date: July 2016
- Destination: Alaska
- Cabin Type: Large Ocean-View Stateroom
Luggage arrived promptly. Room was in excellent shape.
Our itinerary was fantastic, stopping in unusual Alaskan ports of Kodiak Island, Homer and Downtown Anchorage.
The food was very good to excellent in both the Rotterdam Dining Room and the Lido.
Wait lines were short everywhere except minor lines at two spots in the Lido.
The entertainment was excellent - great entertainers in the Showroom and the Singers, Dancers and HALCats were wonderful. The shows were very well received!
Service was outstanding everywhere we went and all employees.
We loved the Maasdam and will certainly cruise on her again if possible.
Our only disappointment was they discontinued the salad bar in the Lido and you had to wait for the server to get to you. It caused a line there that I think is not necessary! Also, why so many special orders for breakfast? There should be a self-serve line available, no need to wait for common items.
That is the only criticism I have of the entire trip! It was truly EXCELLENT and a FABULOUS value for the money. GREAT JOB HAL!

SitkaWe took the shuttle bus to the Fortress of the Bear - fun display of the orphaned bears! Good place, only takes 30 minutes to see. Then we stopped by the Raptor Center to check out the big birds. Also a lot of fun, they do a good job with the awesome birds! Then we walked back through the Historical Park and saw the totems, the old battlefield and the Visitor Center. What a fun day!View All 328 Sitka Cruise Port Reviews

VictoriaWe took a taxi from the shop to Craigdorrach Castle. Excellent huge house to tour there! Then we walked downtown and visited the BC Provincial Museum, one of our very favorites. Then we took a cab back to the ship. Since there were four of us, it saved a lot of money over the shuttle bus.View All 1,281 Victoria Cruise Port Reviews
