As a first time cruiser, I was very nervous to go on this ship after reading the reviews prior to my June 20th departure. I can honestly say RCI went above and beyond to fix any problems they had during the first few voyages. If you are an easy going person who is not bothered by the little things then you will enjoy this cruise. If you have been on the top of the line ships and used to all the bells and whistles then maybe this one isn't for you. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. We were on the ship within 20 minutes of handing off our luggage. The same goes for when we left, we were off the ship and through customs within a half hour. I stayed in an interior state room with my boyfriend and it was the perfect size for two people who just needed the room to sleep in and get ready in. If you are someone who hangs out in the room a lot I would suggest a larger room. Although the bathroom was very small, there's not much you can do to fix that. Although the drawers were small, there was enough closet space to hang up both mine and my boyfriends clothes. We had no problems with our plumbing,AC, or anything else in the room. The AC was actually really strong which surprised me. We chose the later dinning option (8:45pm) with our two other friends in the main dining room. The wait staff was AMAZING. Jeoffrey and Ronaldo were simply the best. Also, the gentleman who took the drink orders knew our favorite drinks by the second night which was great. They were practically waiting for us at the table when we arrived. The food was good, however, our friends missed the lobster and prime rib night because they changed it last minute. The best part was that the waiters had no problem bringing two entrees to some people who couldn't decide what they wanted! There were SO many activities which made it impossible to be bored. I enjoyed bingo the most because I won the raffle and got 25% off of my excursion. The live shows were amazing and the comedy show made us laugh so much we were practically crying. We even met the comedians at the Viking Crown Lounge and got to chat with them! One of the activity coordinators, Mark, was awesome! He was so funny, had the best attitude, and even hung out with our group at the VCL. We chose the stingray excursion at Grand Cayman. Great captain and crew. They boat was not crowded and the entire experience was something we will never forget. We didn't do much exploring of the island, but others recommended going to the beach. At Key West we booked a snorkeling excursion through Fury and saved money. Snorkeling the reef was fun and the boat gave free drinks on the way back! Overall we had an amazing week and would recommend the Empress of the Seas to anyone!

Cabin Review

Cabin
Just enough space for two people who only planned on being in the room to sleep and get ready. Loved the free cups given out too!
