Embarkation was very smooth. I think the secret for this was the fact that they let people into the terminal only at their allocated time to board. There was not the usual 1000 people in the terminal all clambering to get aboard. 20 minutes to get aboard.. 10minutes of this was filling out customs cards. Once on board, cabins where ready, dropped off hand luggage and up to the buffet for lunch and a cold beer. Departure was delayed until 24.00 hrs due to repair of a seal on one of the propeller shafts. Meals in the main dining room were very good , good choices on the menu. Tried several of the Curtis Stone meals.. all were delicious. Could not fault the service from the crew in any area of the ship. The two barmen in Magnums whiskey bar ( Ronnie and ray ) were terrific with great service and great interaction with the passengers. We made this our bar for the cruise. Ports of call were, Alotau, Doini island, Kiriwina island, Kitava, Rabaul, Honiara, Brisbane.. Beware... there is no shortage of rain this time of year in this part of the world. A light raincoat is a must. Humidity is almost unbearable. Rain plagued us for the for the first few ports then we had good weather for the rest of the trip. I found New Guinea and Guadalcanal very interesting from a historical point of view.. seeing these places first hand only make these feats more impressive.. All in a great cruise. .Would not hesitate to book another cruise with princess to the same area.
