We just got back home from a ten day cruise on the Celebrity Equinox. We had driven down the day before and stayed at the Florida Marriott Harbor Bay resort, which was awesome right on the ocean. We were only 2 miles to the port, parking was pretty much no hassle. Boarding, customs took about 30 minutes with no problem. The ship is beautiful and well laid out. Very upscale in our opinion. Easy to navigate around the ship and there are numerous "Here is where you are" postings and signs so it is easy to not get lost. Our cabin was on the 9th deck with a balcony and let me tell you: looking at the ocean 24/7 is wonderful and relaxing. Our cabin was well laid out, immaculate and the bath room was larger than on other ships we have been on. Our cabin stewards, Hendry and Felicia were wonderful and no request was too big for them to handle. The food was excellent everywhere we ate: Oceanview - on the 14th deck with a huge selection of buffet items every meal, every day. Silhouette, on deck 4 is where we had dinner and every meal was great - no on bad experience and the service was stellar. Very nice pool areas, both outdoor and indoor. Beautiful fitness center with the best cardio equipment and plenty of free weights and machines. Bonus: they have chilled towels for you after your work out. They offer spin, yoga, zumba, stretching classes for an extra fee. The spin class was o.k. They have yoga blocks, mats and strength bands as well. The shore excursions we went on were o.k. It was difficult to hear the tour guides most of the time which was frustrating but that was not Celebrity's fault. We went to The Virgin Islands, St. Kitts, Barbados and St. Martin/St. Maarten and had four glorious days at sea. They have a lawn on the 14th deck and a glass blowing exhibition which is something else. Everywhere we went on this ship I can tell you this: I did not see one speck of dirt, grime, grease or trash. We continuously saw both crew and OFFICERS doing what ever needed to be done. There was never an wet towel, empty glass or dish around for long before someone was picking it up. The spa is very, very nice. We had a massage and also paid extra for The Persian Room, which has scented steam rooms and warmed tile chaise lounges to relax on while overlooking nothing but blue water and blue sky. That was really awesome. The casino and shops are well laid out. The library had a nice selection of books. There is also a game room for cards which was very popular. The ship has numerous bars and gathering places and they each have a very elegant and unique design. We felt we were in New York City one night, Paris or London the next. The ship also has 3 or 4 specialty restaurants. We ate at Tuscan Grill. It is in the back of the ship. We had dinner at sunset and it was stunning. Plus, again, the food and service were excellent. My two cents is this from a stranger you don't know: this ship was awesome. The crew was awesome. The food and service was awesome. We cannot rave enough. Also, once they called our number for disembarking, we were off the ship, got our luggage, went through customs and were in our car in 45 minutes. Read that again: 45 MINUTES. We thought we would be at least an hour or more. We did not go to any of the shows but other guests we got to know during our trip said they were very well done. We will definitely be booking another cruise on the Celebrity Equinox.
