We have completed our eighth cruise with Celebrity on the Solstice. It was a 14 day journey from Auckland NZ to Sydney Aus. It was our second trip with the Solstice. We stayed at the Auckland Hilton pre cruise. We highly recommend that stay. Everyone there were friendly, caring and very informative. The exciting part was the morning of our cruise the ship actually docked off our hotel balcony. Embarkation was only close but went quickly and smoothly. We were in stateroom 1048 which was concierge. Our complaint was it was the room behind the area where the ship juts out and so our forward view was poor which we missed coming into port. We thought a concierge room could have been a little better. We ate anytime dining in the dining room. It went smoothly each day and the staff was so efficient. We did have lunch and breakfast there numerous times which got you out of the hastle of the buffet. Our only specialty was Silk which was quite nice. We had rainy cool sea days and it would have been nice if maybe there had been movies in the theater to pass the time. We did experience this on RC Oasis and it was nice. We did some shore excursions. Our suggestions in Auckland was the winery tour at Waiheke island. Hobbit town at Tauranga was excellent as was the beautiful countryside ride that went with it. Akaora had the Giant's House which was great. Hobart take the Richmond and Tassie devil tour if you want to be close to the animals. It was great even if it was pouring down rain. Disembarkation went well. There was more confusion then usual to find our suitcases. Stay a few days in Sydney. The Operah House is not to be missed. The on and off ferry takes you to some beautiful places. This will probably be the best trip ever taken off our bucket list.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class
Cabin C2 1048
It was located just behind the area that juts out of the ship. Our forward view was not the best. I thought for a concierge it could have been a room with a better view. It was a great location on the ship. If we would have been on the other side of the area that jutted out, it would have been much better.
