We are Elite members of the Celebrity Captains club so we know a Celebrity ship or two. This was a poor choice of cruise and a massive disappointment for a number of reasons. Firstly the ship was unclean. From pretty much the get go there was Norovirus on board. I spent days 3 and 4 in my cabin having been very unwell. Speaking to a senior officer later they said that although they asked unwell guests to stay in their cabin if they have Norovirus they knew from the cabin steward that not all guests complied - thereby spreading the virus all over the ship. It would have helped also if the ship was cleaned properly and it was not. All all times in the past on Celebrity the boat common parts (stairwells etc) have been very clean and kept that way by constant cleaning. In this instance the handrails and elevator call panels were particularly dirty. It also meant that the water stations on deck by the pool were all closed and in 35 degrees heat that is really unsafe. The cruise had a long 3 day stay in Bali and we thought it would be great to enjoy the local area however Bali and just about every other port were tender operations so we had long waits for tender boats and when we arrived at the port we inevitably found ourselves miles from anywhere relying on the expensive ship transfers or taxi. For example we landed at the port of Port Klang which was advertised for Kuala Lumpur - which was over 1.5 hours away by coach !! The boat itself has seen better days as can be said for the Summit and the Constellation. Celebrity overall has slipped from Luxury to just plain ordinary - the exception on this cruise was that the entertainment was very good indeed and all credit to the Cruise Director You can use your money far more effectively

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 2
Cabin C2 8160
These cabins are old and tired and badly needing a refurb - the toilet seat didn't even match the rest of the sanitary wear and the shower curtain (yes indeed) badly needed replaced.

Every drawer and door creaked and the couch was broken - the floor to the balcony was badly stained and rough on your feet.
Deck 8 Inside Cabins, Outside Cabins, Balcony Cabins, Suite Cabins
