This was our 1st cruise with Royal Caribbean having previously traveled with most of the other major cruise lines. In general we were somewhat disappointed with the cruise and particularly the on board service and the lack of entertainment options during the day. Also as a person who has enjoyed craft activities on other cruises it was disappointing that participating in this activity incurred a charge. Boarding in Dubai was farcical due to the absolute lack of information. and the exceedingly long queues. Little did we know that part of the cause was due to extra sanitation on account of health problems on the previous leg. Caution re the Novo virus continued for the whole cruise to such an extent that staff were being pulled from all areas of the ship to assist in sanitation and in distributing plates in the Windjammer cafe. The meals in the Windjammer buffer were OK although the set up could be better organised. The deserts however were generally of poor quality. The promenade cafe was also good although as the offering is the same each day its attraction diminished as the cruise went on. We were on anytime dining and whilst in general we didn't have to wait long to get into the dining room in general once we entered the service left a lot to be desired. Often we were not asked if we would like wine with our meals and on a couple of occasions our coffee cups were put out but then they forgot to return to fill them. We found the staff seemed so rushed it was hard to develop any real rapport with them which was not our experience on previous cruises. The outstanding quality of the bread rolls was however a higlight. Our inside promenade cabin was excellent and it was great to be able to look into the promenade. Our steward Loyal was also fantastic. It was good to have a shower with doors rather than the traditional screen. It was however noticeable that unlike other lines the shower did not contain liquid soap. The promenade shows were good however apart from the showband and the ice skating show the rest of the entertainment was ordinary. We also saw and heard a lot less of the cruise director than had been our previous experiences. For a ship of this size on thing noticeable was the lack of public entertainment areas.

Noro strikes again.

Cabin Review

Cabin 8303
Cabin 8303 is an inside cabin with views into the promenade. Its location on deck at toward the rear of the ship results in minimal impact from noise from the promenade and activities on the promenade. The location also provided quick and easy access to the aft lifts and stairwell which was very convenient. Deck 8 is also convenient for accessing all areas of the ship.
For 2 people we found the cabin quite spacious with the seat under the window adding to the spaciousness of the room.

Whilst the storage space was OK it was less than experienced on other cruises.

It was good that the cabin came with a small electric jug which was something we had not previously encountered
