Celebrity Infinity Cruise Review by Nancy C
- Sail Date: October 2015
- Destination: Western Caribbean
The ship itself is definitely not "modern luxury" as advertised. The dining room chairs were soiled, the chairs in the Constellation were soiled and stained, and the rooms may have been luxury 20+ years ago, but they are definitely very small and not current luxury. We had an outside terrace which the people next door looked into. Not much privacy for sitting outside.
The daily meals were just OK. Nothing special in the preparation or presentation. The buffet was very crowded all during the lunch hours, and clearing of tables was slow. The selections for breakfast and lunch were pretty much the same each day. The anytime dining in the Trellis meant making an earlier reservation and hoping a table would be available or being handed a pager, and called when a table was available. We chose not to eat at the specialty restaurants. Compared to select dining in other ships, the selections offered were not worth the extra money.
Activities offered when the ships were at sea were the same ones found on all old, outdated ships. I guess if you gamble, it doesn't matter. There was an extremely small jogging path available to walk or run if you got bored. Almost 10 times around, dodging guests, equaled one mile.
We had a disembarkation time of 9:10. From the time we left the waiting area, to the time we walked to our car, right outside the port, 50 minutes had passed. The waiting to get through customs was completely backed up.
I might not be disillusioned If this was my first cruise, but the ship was advertised as a luxury cruise with fine dining. I did not doubt this, since the price we paid was on a par with most other high end cruises, not a lesser cruise line.
After 12 cruises, I find myself writing the first negative review. The Infinity definitely did not meet our expectations at all.
