Celebrity Reflection Cruise Review by XBARX
- Sail Date: August 2015
- Destination: Mediterranean
- Cabin Type: Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah
First dinner: The quality of the food were up and down. The dish could be not hot or were too salty. The fish could be to much cooked or fried. The cruiseline promise this in the brochure to be " Deliciously distinctive dining - a foodies heaven".
Entertainment: This is important for us, and I had not given my first review after 82 cruises had it not been for both dinner and entertainment disappointed us. The music was too loud from the band. The cruiseline choose to magnify the drummer via three microphones and loudspeakers, were others put the drummer behind a plexiglass wall. The sound was a disaster. One evening they had a piano man from Texas and the first part we just mostly saw him, and could not hear the piano because the band and the drummer were too loud. The other music was not our liking. I told the cruise director about this, and asked why the ship had no entertainment and music for people over 60 ( I am 61).
He was not interested, but told me they had entertainment for other ages it was more people. We saw a lot of people of older people of our age, but if the Celebrity Cruiseline choose to play too loud and music we do not like or recognize, it has lost its identity and a lot of old customers. It had been fair that Celebrity had given us a warning in advance, but that is too much to expect when the cruise director did not want to listen. By the way the same man talk too much and too fast for people who do not speak english too well. It was too much talk over the loudspeaker as well.
I guess Reflection has a reason why they have 50 % of the books other ships have in the library.
Reflection is not up to Celebrity standard and a premier cruiseline. If this is intended the Celebrity Brand will be damaged. The passengers wants a product they are promised and used too, or they will choose other cruises.
