The ship was not elegant at all. For the price, we expected much better. It was clean, and comfortable (except for too many chairs in the event rooms), but very ordinary looking. The food was also very average, except the breakfast buffet -- that was quite good. The staff were delightful and extremely attentive. We were not happy about our booking experience. We booked late and were told there were only 2 rooms left -- one without an outdoor balcony. We chose the one WITH the balcony, but when we arrived, our room was much smaller than indicated on the ship layout. When we asked the Hotel Manager if the ship was full, he indicated it was not. So why they put us in this sub-standard room for the same price as a regular-sized room, I'm still not sure. The Hotel Manager was gracious enough to put us into a regular-sized room without any trouble. BTW: Other passengers were also told there were "only 2 rooms left". So it would be good to check into this before paying. Also, many travelers had their first hotel night at the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac included in their package. We did not, but we paid the same price for the cruise as those who did... So again, check before paying. The tours were good, but too much time sitting on buses or getting on/off buses. Would be nice to have different local entertainers each night of the cruise. Liked the size of the ship, and very much enjoyed the other travelers. Dining at tables of 6 made it easy to get to know others.
