If you are past guest continue reading. If you are new to Carnival, please stop reading and form your own first opinion. I am a positive person. In fact this is my last review (very positive) I wrote about this same ship for my New Year's cruise. http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=271398 A three out of five rating is bad coming from me. My rating does not at all mean I didn't have a good time , because I went on vacation to have a good time. I normally go with the flow, do not expect 5 star treatment and have a great time. We had such a great experience over New Years I actually booked three more cruises before leaving the ship. We went on the Carnival Magic over Spring Break and back on the Dream in July. I noticed a decline in service and amenities on both of these. Basically the entertainment staff, which includes the Cruise Director, was totally disengaged. My friend and I comptete to earn the ship on a stick competitions. We went three different events published on the funtimes, and no one was there to facilitate it. No more robes in the staterooms, no more funtimes left for you in the staterooms, no more chocolates. Little things, but gone. Drinkstations broken everywhere, long lines to fill a cup. Past guest party - no more. They did have a party for elite guests, but the time and date on the invitation was wrong. The cutbacks seemed to imact the culture of the staff. If they were not working for your tips (cabin stewards, dining room wait staff) they were not the same. Total bummer. I am going to move on to a different cruise line after my final trip in February 2016 if the service remains the same.

Cabin Review

Interior
Cabin 4A 10219
Other than no robe this time, great. Service was great. I would pick a cabin cloer to the exterior door (Lido) next time. I do love the Lido deck rooms for location.

  • Beach
Google Mr. Sanchos. Lots of chairs, pools, free food and drink. All for $55 and worth it. They keep the food and drinks coming.

  • Grand Cayman (Georgetown)
We rent jeeps from Avis. Avis in Cayman is perfect - friendly staff. We didn't need to spring for a jeep - we could have got the economy car. We drove to Govoner's beach next to the Westin. We parked there and enjoyed our free beach. We ran to the liquor store and got food near by. Cheap getaway espeically for Cayman. You can pick up a car for less than 75 bucks with all of the fees and driving permit.

  • Horseback Riding
We did have to put a deposit down, and the credit card info was hacked. Use a throw away card, or a secondary credit card to make a deposit. The experience was AMAZING. I saw the horseback riding pictures from the excurison purchased through Carnival, and ours was by far the best. We drove an hour, the stables were nice and horses in great shape. We rode on the countryside through farmland, rode on the beach, and then went to a private cove in the ocean and rode in the water. Amazing staff, amazing photos - perfect.
