I like to leave honest feedback from my travels and leave plenty of advice on Trip adviser. I am mid 40S and recently traveled with my Husband on the Caribbean Princess, our third cruise with Princess and 7th altogether. The fjords are beautiful and for June, they still had snow on the caps, which made it a very fresh, but stunning places to visit. We stopped at over 10 destinations, many being suitable for able bodied and walkers. I use a wheelchair and had no problem accessing activities by our own arrangements. The ships itinerary and prices were a talking point amongst many as way to high prices! Some smaller ports were by tender, again no problem if you can transfer, staff very helpful. We hired a car for 1/2 day at the North Cap, at 120 euros, if you can share as we did the trip cost us 60 euros, very cheap compared to the overpriced ship! Car rental was right by the port exit or others had booked in advance, road conditions quiet and a simple drive. Some scenic stop points too! The Caribbean Princess seemed to lack atmosphere this time, very little entertainment out side of the theatre, just a five minute performance here and there! We had three comedians on one cruise, now thats a joke! When on the 2-3 day the cruise ship starts to run out of basics,it did not go down well with guest, no cereals, no tea bags a disaster for some! Yes there is plenty of other food, but if your routine or dietary requirements mean you have special K,weetabix or sugar free jam, then it is important to you. The staff although very friendly. barely talked to you, incase their supervisors sent a glaring stare! The supervisors barely spoke or did any work, until the last day, when they want tips!! Drink prices seem to have gone up and up on Princess compared to other operators. A coffee card can be purchased and I see why its the most popular area on the ship. The cruise team and dancers work hard and provide some good shows, would like them to slow down a bit and perhaps concentrate on singing not all that dancing too! For a 15 night cruise I expected to see more big shows, I think I counted three. Some piano nights, a very poor rendition of Elton John, 2 of the 3 comedians were very good, Taffy & Jo little an amazingly talented young lady. One big problem was finding a seat, as people had nothing else to see, they all sat in the Theatre, arriving sometimes an hour in advance! Also a problem is for disabled, there is only aprox 8 wheelchair places at the back of the theatre only. Lets not keep using Simon Cowells rejects from BGT and up the talent a bit more. The ship is looking a bit dated and worn in places, she is still a fabulous place to holiday on and just a few niggles, that did not spoil my trip. Food overall was good and restaurant service good to excellent. Did not try the exclusive restaurants or buy photos, again prices quite high. Re photos what a waste to print, then bin all those unwanted photos, we are in the digital age, move with it Princess! It was a holiday that I enjoyed, but would not do again. I would also like to try other cruise companies for variety.
