  3. Celebrity Eclipse
Having completed a 7 Day Norway cruise in May, I was mightily fed up with all the queues and the absence of seats in the indoor bar areas. True - there are plenty of bars on this ship but not when all the outdoor ones are shut for most of the day! Consequently the indoor bars (and breakfast and lunchtime eating areas are crowded) and it takes forever to get the attention of a waiter to order a drink. There is one very small but very popular Coffee Shop area - always a challenge to get a seat. They need to take out the adjacent Gelato Bar and remove the World Bar (a charge for both and nearly always empty) and extend the Coffee Shop - so obvious I doubt they will! Celebrity have further shot themselves in the foot by closing off 2/3 of the Sky bar on the 14th in the evening to their "Elite Guests". This was one good reason why I will not be travelling with Celebrity again. Nowhere in the daily opening hours did it say the Sky Bar had restricted access for mere ordinary guests - so I will take future business elsewhere. The final straw was taking us to Stavanger on a Bank Holiday - when all the shops were shut. Why not juggle the itinerary and take us to Alesund or Gerainger on the Bank Holiday - where there are so few shops it wouldn't matter. On a previous cruise with another company the Captain juggled the itinerary for this very reason. All of this was a shame as the Ship is very good, the staff exemplary - but for the above two reasons I will not be back.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda
Cabin 1B 9183
Generally a very good cabin with excellent beds - very comfortable. Great shower enclosure in the bathroom but who on earth decided to put those huge taps in the handbasin? There is no way to splash your face with water without soaking the entire bathroom floor. Clearly not tested by a man who wet shaves
