Norwegian Jewel Cruise Review by spr5988

The boat is SO clean. They are constantly cleaning.
The food was also pretty good. I will say I thought there desserts were just okay. I have a sweet tooth and I wasn't very impressed by their desserts. There are four free areas to eat as part of your cruise complimentary- Tsars and Azura's which are sit down and someone serves you. These you can make reservations too. Then there was Garden Cafe which was a buffet and O'Sheehan's which you do get served at, but it's less variety (burgers, etc). O'Sheehan's was my least favorite because it was the same food each time.
I thought there were a lot of activities to do on the cruise in the beginning. I do think that by the end of the week, there seemed to be less for adults (or maybe because we had already done them earlier in the week). Don't miss the Perfect Couple game show and the Newlywed Game show. It was hilarious.
I would definitely do this cruise again.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews
Altun HaTo my surprise, this was my favorite day on the cruise. My boyfriend had really wanted to see the Mayan ruins and I was just so-so on the idea but I loved it! We did the Altun Ha and Olde Belize River excursion. It's about an hour bus ride to the ruins, but the tour guide talks to you about Belize the whole time and is providing you information about what you are passing and about Belize. You are at the ruins for about an hour and although there aren't a ton of ruins to see, I thought it was so interesting. We got some great pictures too of the Mayan Ruins and was able to climb up one. We then went to eat a Belizean lunch. The food was okay. We got rice, chicken, and salad and then we took a boat ride back to the port. We saw a monkey and a crocodile and some birds along the way. Definitely bring bug spray! I loved the ruins so I would recommend checking it out - the boat ride back and the lunch wasn't anything too special. Then the port was great itself, I really liked the shopping there. Great day overall!View All 165 Altun Ha Reviews
SnorkelingI did the snorkeling at Channakabaha (spelling?). If I had to do it again, I probably wouldn't book this one. I didn't have a bad experience, I just don't think it was a great one either. My boyfriend isn't the strongest swimmer and I felt like they didn't really help people out if they were struggling with snorkeling. Also, you didn't actually go on a boat and get dropped in the sea to snorkel. You are just at a beach and go in the water so there weren't a ton of fish. There were some, but they would come when the staff was feeding them. They did get really cool pictures of you snorkeling though because they would feed the fish and then snap a picture. Just an okay experience. You don't have to take a tender to get to this port though, so that was a plus for this port. Cozumel itself seemed nice. I didn't really get to see the port much because of our excursion though.View All 426 Snorkeling Reviews
Banana Coast (Trujillo)I thought this port was interesting. It's a newer port, so we just walked around. There was a historic area with a church that we saw. We had to take a tender boat to get to the port. There is a bit of a hill to get to the church, but I thought very manageable if you are relatively in shape. However, I would recommend trying to go to this port early because it got HOT when we were there at the end of March. I was glad to be climbing that hill early in the morning before it got too hot. It's got a lot of dirt roads and just some shopping to do at the port. Prices are cheaper the further you walk from where the tender's bring you. Overall, I actually thought Honduras had the best prices for souvenirs, but didn't have the variety of items like some of the other ports. I enjoyed this location, but it's definitely new and in the process of being developed. There are quite a few policeman with guns on the streets.View All 43 Banana Coast (Trujillo) Cruise Port Reviews
