Celebrity Constellation Cruise Review by Sorco
- Sail Date: January 2015
- Destination: Western Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Inside Stateroom 10
FOOD: Very satisfied with the quality of items offered on the buffet and main dining room. Clearly an upgrade from RC and Carnival. As a side note, I did not see a single person waste plates of food as we have seen on other cruise lines. People ate what they took because it was good! My favorite spot was the Sorbet & Gelato bar inside the buffet area.
DEMOGRAPHICS: 80% of the passengers were in the 40's - 60's. We saw maybe a dozen children and perhaps a dozen couples in their 20's, so I would have to say it was a homogeneous group. It was nice for us, because the music and activities were centered around that. No hairy back or drinking contests poolside. Instead their were salsa dance lessons, pool volleyball, wine tasting etc.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: The Cruise Director was did his job in a classy way. He was funny, but not obnoxious. No sales pitches and overdone announcements encouraging people to spend money on the stores.
DISAPPOINTMENTS - - -:
SERVICE: Notably in the poolside bars and buffet area. This is one area were Carnival and RC have Celebrity beat hands-down. Unfortunately we felt the staff in these area walked around without purpose or a sense of urgency. Not sure what's going on, but staff did not appear happy nor eager to help; and was consistent for the duration of the cruise. A true disappointment for us, since we thought Celebrity was going to excel in the service area.
Again, we had an overall pleasant cruise and would consider Celebrity again, but this experience was not enough to win over our loyalty.
Happy sailing :)
