Allure of the Seas Cruise Review by xiphoid76
- Sail Date: January 2015
- Destination: Eastern Caribbean
The room was 'ready' at 1 PM, but we discovered our bathroom was dirty including a used tampon in the trash. Kind of gross way to start a cruise. After numerous complaints to clean the room, they finally did and gave us a bottle of wine for our troubles. The cleanliness problem was kept up throughout the cruise - there just is not enough staff on board to bus tables, clean the floors or the rooms. Constantly there was dirt around. It was obvious our room had not been vacuumed or properly cleaned in a long time with dust/hair/food particles throughout the balcony and room.
The ship itself is very nice - actually thought the variety of food available for free was very good and the dining room service was great. We did eat at Rita's Cantina one night and had terrible service - should have sticked with the free dining options. Plus the food there was not as good as the dining room.
The worst meal was buffet breakfast - the best breakfast was Solarium.
The 'famous' roast been sandwich at Park Cafe was gross - tons of fatty meat - maybe I had a really bad one, but it was horrible.
Central park and Boardwalk were beautiful. We had a balcony over Boardwalk and it was loud, but fun to see all the activity. They had nice fountain shows (some of the fountains were broken though).
Chicago was great, Blue Planet was boring, Ice games was odd, but overall the shows were adequate.
Would not go again on another RCI - just not clean enough for our tastes.

St. MaartenYuck - we did a island tour and all we saw were homeless and decrepit buildings. It was very sad. Maybe the resorts are nice - but would never leave them!View All 4,728 St. Maarten Cruise Port Reviews
