The following review is my honest opinion : Embarkation ; we arrived around 6pm to experience a wait of 30 minutes with reduced staff, this was an indication of things to come. There was no feel good factor and "welcome to your cruise" etc. we were processed and past through security . Once on the ship the welcome was a few drinks on a tray "over there" , not the welcome you anticipate from a purported 5 star cruise line. The cabin was fine , there are sound issues , My wife and I knew this having sailed on the Solstice 4 years ago our last three cruises being with Azamara. The cocktail bar was fine , we had a drinks package which worked for us although on two separate occasions we were charged for drinks at two separate bars on two days which meant two trips to guest relations. We also had to return to guest relations on two further occasions as the printing on our sea cards wore away . As demanded by our "homeland security reject" of a security card. The coffee shop is an oasis in a sea of mediocrity. After nearly two weeks in the ocean view cafe I still couldn't establish the function of the personnel in fawn trousers and ties . They seem to do nothing and talk to each other. The whole process in the ocean view cafe is chaotic. Waiters walking around disinterested with a vacant look. others attentive and charming. The design of the ocean view cafe at breakfast time just doesn't work its a battle to obtain food and return to your seat. The M.D.R was very very disappointing. You had a feeling of being processed, The food quality was at the best average ,service average , it really did not impress at all ! The sommelier was run off her feet. The usual suspects regarding every aspect of the cruise experience were the bean counters. Their finger prints everywhere. The evidence of the cost cutting exercises are self evident . The clients of this cruise line are not your " burger and fries brigade". They understand service and quality. two elements of the cruise experience which are sadly missing. Entertainment;Average. why cant celebrity secure good entertainers through a good agency? I found myself walking out of most of the acts with the exception of two. The ensemble lounge was wonderful but is crying out for a piano player . Someone at celebrity needs to address fundamental elements of the package afforded to clients, guests. You cant expect paying guests to accept declining standards in every aspect of they cruise and still remain happy repeat customers. please celebrity change tack before you run aground!
