I have been loyal to Royal for many years (cruising over 6 times). However the expectations for the Harmony of the Seas (the biggest ship out there) were not met! The overall cruise is UNDERSTAFFED! Royal You need more bartenders, more DJ's, Better hours of operations for Entertainment (not enough time slots for Shows) with the amount of people on board. Lounges closed way too early! Royal needs to extend Lounge times until 2 am and provide DJ's after bands leave. Teen disco needs a DJ playing Top hit songs all night until at least 1am.!! Teenagers were BORED!! Boleros closes too early, Dassles closes too early, Wonderland Lounge closes too early, the list is endless of the amount of wasted nightly lounges that Royal is not making proper use of! Elevators are not in SYNC!! They are way too slow for the amount of people on board. Fix Them! Main Dinning Room needs better food portions *they have declined tremendously! Not everyone wants to spend more money on Specialty Restaurants. Breakfast should be served later in the Solarium too! Stop closing at 1030 am. Too many people on board! You need an A la Carte Omelette area at the Windjammer and Solarium! The Bartending service was very poor especially at the Solarium and Floating Bars! Hire more bartenders!! Too many passengers on this Ship!! You can't run this ship like you run your small fleets. Seriously Royal?? You are making way too much money for this ship to be slacking and reducing!! Step it up, hire more staff and GET more Bartenders and DJ'S on board!! Read Less

We are Diamond and this was our 5th time on the Oasis class but first on the Harmony. we booked an oceanview balcony guarantee and were placed in cabin #6226. this was in the middle of the ship which resulted in lots of foot traffic and noise. We go on Harmony Sept, 2 2017 and will be forward, thankfully. on the Oasis class the rear elevators are super slow during lunch and dinner, due to the MDR and windjammer dining all located aft. The ship is obviously along the same lines as the Oasis and the Allure with subtle differences. My wife liked the bionic bar however I felt it to be a novelty that after seeing it one time and ordering a drink I am good with no desire to revisit it. The windjammer entrances are different as well with the way you enter and exit. also the windjammer only used one side with the exception of embarkation day. but the crowds were not bad except the first day. We went to Grease which is 90 mins long, after 75 mins we exited as we were full up on Grease.Felt like the entire movie was in the ship version which was a bit too long for us. We did the backstage tour of the theatre which is a Diamond perk and this was wonderful. If anyone qualifies I suggest it. I asked about Cats on the Oasis due to the fact that we did not like it, and loved Hairspray along with Chicago. RCL buys the rights to these and once the rights expire they have to transition to something different. Typically they are for 3 years however the staff said they are not privey to contractual matters and did not know how much longer Cats has. The piano guy in the Schooner bar was awesome I believe his name was Billy Pando and he was great we went there around 4 nights. The gentleman in the pub on the royal promenade, Toby Joe Rielly or something close was not good. We tried to listen however did not like his play. My wife requested a song and his reply was and I quote,"I only play good music". HMMM that's interesting as I thought you took request for the enjoyment of the passengers, Our previous 30+ cruises that's what all the rest did, maybe times are changing. Well onto Dazzles the club aft where Great Ideas played. Loved them they were great. The fine line dive show was off the charts good as all the dive shows we have seen have been on RCL. It is unbelievable what these performers can do. Disembarkation was FAST!!! We walked off with our luggage at 0630 and were on the road at 7am. We will be back Royal on Harmony then ALLUR FOR NEW YEARS EVE!! Read Less

We wanted to see the newest RC ship and overall it was amazing!!! we had a 2 BR Aqua suite so the service was immeasurable. Our Genie Reyno was fabulous & took care of many of the headaches we wouldve had! Got us on the ship and to our room by 11:00 am .he made our show reservations..Grease was Broadway quality! Loved all the food both specialty and dining room. I know people have been complaining about the food on RC but I cant say one bad thing!!! We loved the improvements to the Suite sun deck. great to have a hot tub & bar there but RC majorly dropped the ball on leaving out a pool in the Solarium., Not sure why they would make this change but because of that I will NOT book on this ship again until they add one. I was also disappointed in the new pool hours.. we used to swim till midnight after dinner.. yes we are strange but it is not crowded at night and we didnt need to apply sun screen.,. now they close at 7 pm. they told us there was always a pool open at night but I guess with the storms out to sea we could never find an open pool..which was disappointing. I know people judge because of the price of the Aqua suites but if you can at all swing it you will be truly amazed!! pleasantly surprised to find out that the Bionic Bar is included in the Star class. Loved going to the Specialty rest for free.. especially the Izumi sushi for lunch take out on sea days. we ordered take out since the restr was already booked and took back to the Suite Deck for lunch fabulous!! I love that RC doesnt charge tips on the STAR class rooms. If you have Star Class remember to bring cash for tips. We were very generous to each waiter and our room attendant since they werent getting any other tips from us. We loved the food and service and quietness of the Coastal Kitchen for Breakfast, we didnt need to fight the crowds in then Windjammer and the wine and cheese before dinner was fabulous. Getting off the ship was a breeze as our bags were already sent valet service to the airline. we were then taken to the front of the customs line and in no time we were on our way to the airport. When vacation time is limited this is the way to cruise.. just saying!!! We will do the Allure next year!! it is our favorite ship so far.. but anxiously awaiting the prices to come down for the Symphony. our Aqua Theater Suite was 3x times higher on the Symphony for 2018 than this cruise on the Harmony. I think someone is on crack making the prices hahahaha!! but Ill keep checking for the drop.. gotta do the Symphony.. LOVE ROYAL CARIBBEAN!! keep on sailing :) Read Less

Ship was an engineering marvel and impeccably appointed. The crew was friendly, accommodating and gave incredibly personal service. Entertainment on board was top notch. Food was better at some places than others, but I am a food snob. There are definitely alot of people on board and if I had one or two complaints it is that people should take a refresher course in good manners before boarding....there are rules in polite society and we are all trying to get somewhere too..... and also DEODORANT IS MANDATORY!!!! despite what you do at home. Too many people too close of quarters to be stinking like some people were doing!!!! Can be a bit overwhelming especially for a novice cruiser like we were, but things settle down and it gets easier to manage and lines for activities (slides, rockwall etc) get smaller as it goes on especially if you get back from your excursion earlier than others. Seems like there a little tips and tricks that can make things smoother, so I would suggest talking with an experienced cruiser before embarkation. If I had any suggestions for future cruisers other than minding your hygiene and manners. Definitely download the cruise app on your phone so you always have a schedule at your fingertips (plus all the other functionality, it's a pretty good app) And also if you disembark thru port everglades us the mobile passport app. That shortened our time in customs by 95%. Thoroughly enjoyed despited a few missteps. Would def cruise again and only on a ship of this class and would highly recommentdto others!!!! Read Less

My wife chose it, i chose two weeks in Maui Hawaii afrter the cruise for the "Real Vacation". How wrong could i be we loved the cruise the Whole experience from the lugars With balcony towards the sea on deck 8 to all the activities and venues onboard. Not to mention the fantastic shore excursions. This was a real eye opener for great vacations to come a specially now the kids are all grown. The ship is so big and has som many activities you can not get bored. The peace you get at sea is another thing you simply have to experience. Not a sign of sea sickness whatsoever. We were lucky with the weather to i guess as we only had one storm which occured when we were dining at Wonderland so we only saw it from the resturant. Didnt last long either. Calm seas all the way due to amazing stabilizers. This was only in July and i miss it dearly already. I am now ready for an even longer cruise than the one week we had. The embarkation was smooth. Had a great time on this ship. We pretty much did everything that this Ship had to offer. Plan early and you don't have to wait on any lines. The best part of this Ship was EVERYTHING. Food and the Dinning Service was amazing. We had some specific needs and they fulfilled it without any questions. They remember those needs and took care of it everyday. Don't be Shy about asking. The best thing can happen is the staff takes care of it. We had great time everyday with the family doing one or more activities. RC knows how to keep people busy on the ship with Shows, Activities such as Flowrider, slides, pools and parties at night. The best part was the Zip line at Labedee. We enjoyed all the excursions and private area for the beach and all the activities there. Jamaica and Cozumel experience was very good. We had great time going out in town on our own and explore that Dunn's Falls and Beaches in Cozumel. Enjoy the CRUISE, All the Activities and Sleep when you come home. Read Less

This cruise ship is vey large and was hard to explore in so little time . I would recommend this cruise if you like large cruise ships . But the biggest concern was price . To me this cruise seemed all about Money Most of the restaurants were not complimentary. Jamie's Italian was $ 35 per adult and $10 per child . However Chops grill and Wonderland were $50 per person ! Also, the sale merchandise was Cheep quality. I happened to get a beach bag that broke 3 days later, I bought another carrying bag that unseemed the day I bought it . But otherwise, the entertainment nightly was Amazing. I felt that the cruise was all about the money, rather than providing overall customer satisfaction and convinience. For 2 adults and 2 children from California: 7 day cruise fare $6500 + $1800 airfare + $1700 on board tab + $150 hotel = $10,150 for a 7 day cruise or $2,537.50 per person. while the cruise was nice overall, it was not worth the cost. In the future, we will stick to the smaller venue cruises from the California ports of call. Read Less

The Ship: The ship somehow never feels too crowded, and there are a ton of places to go and see while onboard. Barely felt any movement at sea. The gym is nice, the pools are nice, No complaints about the ship. Would totally do this cruise again. Loved the ship. If you are staying close to the forward or aft of the ship, I recommend crossing the ship on deck 5 or 8, rather than walking the outside hallways to your stateroom. Its just faster, easier, and less walking. Wifi works really well for imessage. Cabin: The cabins are really nice. Well taken care of, there was no conditioner only a shampoo dispenser in my room. Very clean. Dining: Don't listen to the negative reviews about food. The food is equal to any other Royal Caribbean cruise we have been on. Dining room food was fantastic, service was excellent as always. My only complaint would be for some better ventilation in the kitchen when making the fish in the windjammer. The Park Cafe is the best complimentary food on the ship, try the roast beef sandwich. We had trouble finding lemonade and other juices at the cafe promenade, sorrentos, etc. Sometimes its nice to have an alternative to ice water. Entertainment&Activities: Excellent. Never bored or without something to do while on the ship. Service: Excellent service from dining room staff, and from room attendant. Guest services was ok. NO complaints other than a few misunderstandings about little things. Diamond club is where its at. They know everything, what to do, what not to do, and how to do it. You get better info from Diamond Club and they are very helpful to the diamond members. So i recommend becoming a diamond club member. *NOTE* NO TIPPING NEEDED FOR DRINKS AT BARS. It is not appreciated by any of the bartenders that I dealt with, so don't bother doing it. It won't help you in any way either. I was surprised by that. Usually they like tips. Room attendants and dining room staff appreciate it, but the various bartenders couldn't care less throughout the ship. Ports: Labadee - Was amazing. Get the bungalow, just do it, and it will be a highlight of the trip. Falmouth: Not sure about this one. Dunns river falls is over an hour away, they are advertising it as a "short 40 minute drive". Its not. The bus has almost no AC, and it takes at least an hour to get there. No bathroom or garbage can either. So you're stuck on this bus the majority of the time you are on this excursion, and you better hope nobody needs to use the bathroom for the over an hour long drive to get there and back. They should scrap it from the Falmouth excursions, or make it a better experience for their guests. Get a bus with AC and a bathroom, no mandatory shopping on the way back, maybe music or more of a guided tour experience to make time go by faster? The kids loved it, but I was left wishing I did something else that day. The falls are total chaos as well, the guides and photographers are rude, yelling at you the entire time, making you stop and stand for apparently no reason before reaching the falls. Montego Bay is a good drive away as well. Not sure what the solution is to this port. I would try something else unless you really want to see the falls. This one also had the most aggressive security when coming back to the ship. Make sure to throw away any empty bottles and trash you have from your excursions before going through security. They need more trash cans and warnings out front before entering. Cozumel: *GROUPS OF 4 AND LESS* DON'T STAND IN LINE FOR THE CABS, GO STRAIGHT OUT AND FIND YOUR OWN. That was a total waste of precious time when we got off the ship and went through the maze of shops to finally get a cab and wait for no reason. Chankanaab was really nice, Paradise beach club is nice for drinking and pool. Great snorkeling EVERYWHERE. I wanted to do a jeep tour but never got a chance to do it. The cabs are all different prices here. The ship says 8$ which you have to haggle with the driver about, but its more expensive to go to chankanaab or paradise beach, because they are a good distance away from the ship. So if you plan on going multiple places, prepare for a large taxi bill while in cozumel. Read Less

Our waiter and assistant waiter where excellent The kids club is very nice the kids love it I am not happy with room service. I feel everyone at cruise critics should be sending a complaint. They are now charging $7.98 to use the room service. I feel that is absolutely wrong. I chose this cruise because I was taking my 13 year old granddaughter on a vacation. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly on the ship in five minutes. Off very quickly and orderly. The ship is very pretty and kept very clean considering how many people are on this ship. Cabin was nicely decorated and the cabin steward was very nice and kept the room spotless and he was very helpful with any questions I had. I had cabin 329 deck 8 overlooked the aqua theatre and the theater played movies till 12:00 very noisy the balcony windows did not block sound out. So don't plan to go to sleep watch tv or read. If you have cabins in the back or what they call aft. Ship. Better off with inside cabin or balcony ocean side mid ship. Dining crowded and long wait lines. Buffet also crowded and they don't provide trays for your food so you have to juggle your drink silverware and food . To a table if you can find one. Dining room food was ok I only ate there once fish was salty and had bones. And children sitting at a table next to me were running around the table and throwing themselves on the floor. The parent were at another table further away from them and did not care. Buffet in the windjammer restaurant was pretty good. I did not try any of the specialty restaurants. Entertainment was good aquatic show. And Grease the musical was good. You do need to have reservations for every thing because it is so crowded. Services were poor. Many problems with teens running wild on the ship . 12 yr old was molested by a fifteen yr old boy. And same teen was harassed by another boy. It was handled very poorly by security. My 13 yr old did not want to go in the pool because it was to crowded. And I could not find a seat at the pool or nor could I swim in any of the 4 pools because all 6,00 people were in them. Body to body. Ports nice shore excursion not sponsored by the ship in Mexico snorkeling was great. Swimming with the dolphins thru the ship tours took you thru a lot of shopping in the stores before you actually got to swim with the dolphins. I booked with icruise.com they provided the best tour. For least amount of money. I am not a fan of the mega ship to crowded and unruly. If you are a young family you may enjoy it. As for me I will never go on a mega ship again. It was more like a floating city than a ship. Read Less

The first two nights, the service during dinner was not bad however was not impress with it. Service improved after the table guess complained. However we really enjoyed short conversations with our dinner service manager. Our table was 202 in the American grill overnight because we were part of the Happy holiday travel event. The ship was very big and was impressive. The only issue that we had other then the food was the noise we heard during the night above our cabins 3632. Could not figure out what it was. Maybe its a mechanical issue. Our ocean view was spectacular. Would get that view again. Getting onto the ship and out was very smooth. no complain there. Happy customer. Read Less

We celebrated our son's birthday and everyone had a great time. My teenage son always hates the emergency drill when we first get on board, but he LOVED the one on this ship because it was a fun mystery film and he talked about it every day, great job on making this different and fun for everyone! The ship had so much to do, we were always having fun, our teenagers who can be fussy were all happy with the new friends they made and the activities on board. The food was excellent all over the ship, we ate in the main dining room but also tried Chops Grille, Sabor Mexican, Johnny Rockets and the buffet, they were all delicious with great choices and excellent service. The ports were fun and we enjoyed them very much. Everything was clean, sanitary and well maintained, we always saw workers cleaning and keeping everything tidy, they always said hello and made us feel welcome. The shows were wonderful, there were so many to choose from, the casino was great too and offered so much to try. Guest Services was always nice. Very friendly, hospitable staff and willing to go the extra mile to keep you satisfied. The ship is really massive and offers a range of entertainment options. They should probably get rid of the park west gallery painting sale because it is very repetitive and very monotonous. Indian food may be added in the menu in the main restaurant. In fact an Indian restaurant may be added as an option to have lunch and/or dinner for an extra charge. Am sure this will really attract a lot of people from the Indian subcontinent and also add variety to the other travellers. There should be shows like magic shows etc which will attract families with kids. Prices of drinks in the bars need to be reduced and please revisit the 18 % surcharge. This seems somewhat prohibitive. Need more variety in the menu in all the restaurants. TV channels are a few only giving only very limited choices. Read Less

Very nice cruise. Only my 4th cruise but liked this boat the least and would not take it again. The other oasis class ship I was on was the Allure and I liked it much better. --Harmony has no adult pool in the adult only area (only has a sprinkler shower). On the Allure there was a little pool in between the two adult-only hot tubs which made for a nice relief from the heat of the hot tubs. There was an adult only pool but it was in general area next to kids waterslides and was so crowded I could not get in it once in 7 days. Too many kids hanging around adult pool, no chairs EVER available, and no room in pool at all. -- Food was good, but not as good as the other cruises. Service in dining hall was better than all other cruises though! -- Strong sewage smell was pervasive in many areas of the ship. Especially in the Boot and Bonnet bar but when I mentioned it to a staff member they said they didn't smell anything. Smelled it in several common areas and hallways. Fortunately room smelled nice. -- Nice spa/fitness room and very nice track to run around on deck 5. -- Room was nice and we had all family on board in 4 rooms. My 15 and 22 year old sons shared room and we asked for two bed to be split but there was only about 3 inches between and they were very uncomfortable and felt like they had no space. Maybe luck of the draw on rooms as last ship they had a night stand between with more room. Read Less

Overall cruise was outstanding! Would do it again in an instant. The ship is HUGE! a lot to do - never bored. Kids had great time 9 & 12. Very Fluid operation - we flew in morning of (Ft. Lauderdale) Airport is 15 mins away - took taxi, checked in and pretty much just walked on the boat no lines etc. around 11AM - very smooth - So here are some things I recommend: 1 - Buy full beverage package if you are a decent drinker but ahead of time - cheaper - over the 7 days you drink a lot - Grab a drink at bars before you get to a show and there won't be a line - easier 2 - Get Internet ahead of time if you want internet - cheaper 3 - Get Royal IQ app - its awesome - We didn't get internet - wanted to disconnect but we used the app to txt and/or call each other with our cells between everyone - $7.95 each for the entire week to be able to txt/call - app calendar etc. free - worked well - was really useful to see what you wanted to do and how to lay your day out. It connects only to the boats internet so you can't do much with it until you get checked in your room then it will go live - your calendar will sync etc. at that point. Just download the app before you leave. 4 - We didn't care for the free food overall - Here is some tips - buy the 3 night dinner package ahead of time - We went to Jamies, Sabor &150 Central park and they were outstanding - You can go to the Solarium Bistro for dinner (free) but you have to make reservations - that was a good dinner - They serve lunch too but dinner was better. Pizza in promenade was good. There is another breakfast & lunch place in Central park called park cafe - We ended up there a lot for a simple quieter breakfast & lunch. 5 - MyTime dining was ok overall but you have to make reservations in advance even though its "My Time" and you still have to wait a few - just not fluid. Food was hit & miss - If I could afford to do speciality dining every night I would have - far better food. 6 - Entrainment - The Aqua show was probably the best show I have seen ever - We watched it 2x's - you have to make reservations - go to the later one - cooler feel at night - incredible show, Grease was awesome make reservations and I thought columbus was funny. 1887 was an ice skating show - was ok, kinda grew on you during the hour. Go to the "Adult" comedian in Attic - very funny - reservations needed 7 - Do bingo (Jose was host - funny guy) Just buy the $69 package the iPads are worth it. they have bingo throughout the week - one of them they give away a cruise and the other one was for a few thousand $ - Do The Marriage Show & The Quest Show - I think they do them each 2x's on the cruise - go to both if you can - they are hysterical 8 - Get the WOW bands - so much easier then carrying your SeaPass Car around - use for everything including room key - Get as soon as you get on the ship at boleros on royal promenade - $5 - use for everything except when you get on & off the ship have to have card then 9 - Go through the adult section of the solarium (you can sneak kids through) to go out to an open balcony looking over the front of the ship - great view one side has a glass floor which is cool 10 - Sign any release waivers and fillout your sea pass paperwork online before getting on ship that way when you get to the ship you are good to go and all you have to do is pick up your wow band and go play on the ship until your room is ready - We brought a bag of swim clothes etc. to let them play until the room was ready however I think we were in our room anyway around 1:30PM 11 - Excursions were fun - of course depends on what you pick - we used royal Caribbean booked ahead of time and it kept it very fluid and I didn't have to worry if it was delayed as the boat would wait. Prob. paid a little extra for assurance but the process was painless 12 - We had connecting rooms - When you get in the room just call housekeeping and they will unlock connecting door and open partition on balcony if you want them too 13 - Wife went to spa - said it was great just book ahead of time as you save money. 14 - The "celebrations / parades" on the promenade were not great but you need to go up to the farewell party when your leaving port - fun experience waving goodbye. 15 - Make reservations for all your dinners and entertainment (big shows) on your cruise planner online prior to going - just makes it easier - they you can use your app online to add anything else to it and keep track that way. I think that should help a little - It was a great trip & an awesome boat! Have fun! Read Less

It did not feel like there were 7000 passengers and 2000 crews in the ship. Activities are simultaneous so it keeps everyone of different ages entertained and busy. Not crowded at all. Worth the experience and am looking forward to our next confirmed cruise with Symphony of the Seas this coming April 28, 2017. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Entertainment and daily activities were all good. Dining experience always pleasant. Servers always attentive and courteous. Our stateroom always clean and towels replenished. The boardwalk balcony is nice especially if you like to watch the shows in the aqua theature and you can still have a view of the ocean as well. The ports are nice but i probably wouldn't go to the Bahamas again unless you plan on doing excursions. The service was good overall had some small problems one of the servers stereo typed me and was very rude but for the most part the staff was excellent. I will start looking online to book again on this ship. Read Less

This is my 12th cruise. We went on this cruise because our kids were going and we decided to tag along. The Harmony is a beautiful ship, clean and spacious. We sailed on the Allure in 2013 and preferred her to the Harmony due to the pool on Serenity and a great bar and lookout on Deck 16. However, those are all gone now and the ships are almost exactly the same. Our balcony room was very nice except for the bed. Much too hard! Paula was our room steward and she was excellent providing fresh ice twice a day, cleaning, and leaving wonderful towel art. The MDR was excellent and Junior and Elaine were a great team anticipating our food desires, bringing multiple lobsters and other dishes when we were unsure of our selections. Cant say enough good things about the staff on the ship! Our interactions with all were very professional and friendly! Our kids had a great time with the slides, pools, etc. They never had a dull moment.! However, I found myself a bit bored since few activities were for older adults. Very few activities during the day like bingo, trivia, etc. But that is not this kind of ship and I knew it going into this trip. Also found the ship selection of stores limited unless you want a watch. Very few T-shirts, etc. except for the last day when you had to fight your way to buy a mediocre shirt. We did take one Royal excursion to Paradise Beach. Not impressed at all.!! Try Abi Beach instead! On St. Kitts we booked through Resort for a Day website to the Marriott. Lovely place with beach access, pools, and eateries. Was on he Atlantic side so a bit rough. Nice day ! Great weather the whole time! Will stay on the smaller ships from here on out. Read Less

So my wife and I wanted to take our daughter on a cruise due to she is a school teacher and time and budget most of the time would not allow her to go. We had recently been on the Allure of the Seas and wanted to compare this newer ship to the Allure. To me the ships seem very similar as far as the designs and things to do. This one does have some great slides. We had a cabin with a balcony. The bed was very comfortable and the couch was made in to a single bed. Plenty of room for everything. Food in Windjammer was good and a lot of variety. A little crowed at times but that's to be expected especially during lunch. We tried two specialty restaurants, Jamie's Italian and Sabor. Jamie's was excellent and would highly recommend it. Sabor (The Mexican place) was just okay.As far as shows, do not miss the water show called the Fine Line. This rivals and reminds me of water shows in Las Vegas. Casino was fun, but be careful on the blackjack tables. Texas hold 'em is electronic but pretty fun once you get the hang of it. Don't miss the Love and Marriage game, very entertaining. Pools get crowded and sometimes hard to find a lounge chair close to the pool, but most of the time the deck lounge chairs on the 16 deck are plentiful, just not close to the pool. The pool bartenders are not the fastest in the world, but do a decent job considering all the people they are serving. Best beer is the ones that come around in the carts that are loaded with ice. Wife and daughter went to the beach that is walking distance in the Bahamas, They said is was nice but would try another beach if they went back. We always go to Meghan's Bay in St Thomas, This is must if your a beach person. Voted one of the top the beaches in the world. We did our own thing and just grabbed a taxi to the beach. $10.00 each person to and $10.00 back. Only shopped in St Kitts, which to me was typical island stuff and lots of jewelry places Over all, this is a fun trip and you can do as much as you want or as little as you want. The ship is fantastic and would recommend it to first timers or anyone wanting to try a larger ship. Jamie Oliver's new Italian restaurant was great and so was Chops and we can't say enough about the Guacamole at Sabor, Taco's too! Main dining room service was friendly and entertaining, loved the Magic tricks done by Melvin! We really enjoyed St Kitts, while it is a port in need of money for upgrades, the shopping was very good, prices were reasonable, and people were friendly. The Monkeys were not annoying at all, and kind of cute. St Thomas did not disappoint and the length of time in these ports was perfect. We loved the Abyss slide and waterslides. The 4th of July activities, Barbeque and Hot Dog eating contest were great fun. Getting on and off of the ship was the fastest ever and very convenient! Cabins were a nice layout, very clean and I think the shower was even a few more inches larger. Shows were great, I especially enjoyed the Ice Shows and Grease. The Royal IQ was great to keep track of scheduled activities. Read Less

Had a great, relaxing time! The shows were great, the food was very good. I would say the best cruise food we ever had was on this ship!! Bravo to the chef and his crew!! If you want peace and quiet you need to stay on the water side as the Central Park area you could hear the music until midnight. I enjoyed Grease, and the Comedy show. The ice skating show was awesome!! The staff were very friendly and helpful!! We went on our own into St Thomas, downtown shopping. If you want designer jewelry and watches, that is the place to go. Same with St Kitts, we went on our own to one of the beaches and went jet skiing. I would have liked more time at the port in St Kitts as we had to be back by 4:30pm. We had more time in St Thomas as we had to be back by 6:30pm. I would definitely book this cruise again. Read Less

First Oasis class trip with family (wife and myself in upper 30's and two daughter 4 and 7). We were on the Eastern Caribbean itinerary of Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Kitts. Overall the cruise was great. Adventure Ocean (the kid's clubs) were great like other RCI ships. Staff were great with the kids and both of my daughters always came away smiling. My youngest preferred to be there more than with us! One great add on the Oasis class ships are the theatre, science lab and arts studio for Adventure Ocean. Again, can't say enough good about this. Splashaway Bay and the perfect storm slides were generally good too. The one criticism is that the slides sometimes either lacked water pressure or adequate slope as you could get stuck in them (the racer slides and the yellow slide in Splashaway Bay). Also, Splashaway Bay had two areas, one for kids in diapers and one for kids not in diapers. The problem with the area for kids without diapers is that you had to be at least 42 inches to do the slides in the area for kids without diapers. Not sure we saw anything on this pre cruise and it disappointed my youngest and a bunch of other kids who were slightly under 42 inches (3 and 4 year olds). Food was generally good and plentiful. We did the Windjammer quite a bit (we eat the early side with young kids so didn't really see the crowds at peak times). Good selection and pretty good qualify food. The wife and I ate at Coastal Kitchen a few nights (great perk of the JS) and really liked it. Quality of food, service, etc. was top notch. We also did Solarium Bistro for lunch (ok), Sorrentos (made to order pizza suprisingly good), park cafe (good options). We had JS 8230. JS seems bigger on this ship then Independence. Maybe just laid out better? Overall great room. Balcony wasn't on the hump but still plenty big (a little bigger then normal balcony rooms). Room attendant was fantastic. Nassau - we were only there 7am-2pm (i think). My oldest and I walked to Ft Fincastle (ok with great views) and the pirate museum (she liked it). Would like to get a chance to go back for a longer day and see some more. St. Thomas - we did Coral World with the kids. They loved and and I was fairly impressed. Good 2-3 hour adventure. We did it on our own. The taxis in St Thomas leave a lot to be desired. Going to Coral World we basically got in the back of a covered truck with a ton of other people and were in a large van with a ton of other people on the way back. Used to taxis in more other places where it is limited to just your party and it is a car or minivan. St. Kitts - booked an island tour with Pereira Tours. Could not recommend this group enough. The combination of the price (private tour for just us 4), the tour guide and the beauty of the island. It was a little over a 4 hour tour when it ended. Again, loved them and would use again. Final thing worth mentioning is the Aqua Theatre shows. Both were fantastic. Combination of acrobats, high divers and tight rope walkers. Amazing talented performers. Read Less

Overall we really enjoyed this cruise. We live in the Miami area, so it was very easy to get to the port. Embarkation was extremely easy and quick. For disembarkation, we took our own luggage off, which was also very quick and easy. The boat was beautiful and very well laid out. The central park area was particularly lovely, especially at night. Wonderland was fantastic. The entire experience was very memorable and the dessert is absolutely delicious! Our waiter made great wine recommendations and we had a lovely evening exploring the different foods. We went back a different night to the bar, which makes superb cocktails! Don't miss an evening at their bar! We went to every evening show available. Almost all were a perfect way to spend the evening, with two exceptions: Columbus! and the Fine Line. I'd recommend skipping those two, especially Columbus. Instead of Fine Line, go to the Hideaway Heist aqua show, it was much more fun and had a lot more exciting dives to see. Grease was very well done, the comedian was hilarious, the headliner show was entertaining, and 1887 was a nice change with some very talented skaters (and bubbles guy!) The Hush dance parties were a very fun concept, but the DJ's on board need a larger music selection. Every DJ event re-played the same songs in a slightly different order. Bamboleo played wonderfully at Boleros. Don't forget to take a second and go look out at the ocean one evening. The moon was nearly full on our trip and was beautiful across the dark ocean. Some Negatives: The solarium. It was very windy and provided awkward amounts of shade while also blocking the entire view from the front of the ship. It essentially functioned as a hot box during the day. However, from the solarium, they do have two spots off to the side where you can step outside to catch a clear view of the ocean. It gets very windy at times, but it's worth taking a look! The pool bars. Don't even waste your money here, especially on a frozen drink. They make a large batch of the most popular items, like pina coladas, so you'll be served the leftovers of someone else's drink. Then they add the rum after the fact, so it's not frozen at all. Go elsewhere–There are much better bars on the ship than those located near the pool and solarium areas. (Opt for Wonderland or Boleros instead) The main dining room food. I hate to say that it's necessary to pay extra for the food, but if I had it to do over again, I would pay to dine in the specialty restaurants for dinner. The main dining room food was disappointing pretty much every night. The lines for most of the daytime activities were very long and since they had limited operating hours, we never made it to most of them. The Abyss was fun, but not worth forgoing other activities to wait in line for a second time. There seemed to be shortage of lounge chairs, especially if you want to be in a shady area. Also I thought it was very strange that all the lounge chairs face inwards, rather than out towards the ocean. The Ports: The ports were great, but it seems generally necessary to book excursions in order to be entertained, especially in St. Kitts. We went on our own in Nassau, but we weren't there long enough to venture out to other parts of the island. We did try out Graycliffe Chocolate Factory—do not waste your money here. (Very disappointing chocolate.) St. Thomas had phenomenal snorkeling. Be sure to book one that will take you to snorkel with sea turtles! St. Thomas also has a fun little bar within walking distance of the port called Tickles Pub, and it was nice eat a meal different than the ship food. Random: Shout out to Phillip at the Port Merchants! He was wonderful! So helpful and kind and he lead wonderful tastings. Overall, we had a wonderful trip with some very memorable moments. The main complaint would be the food at dinner, however, I can't imagine an overall better ship than the Harmony! Read Less
