We were comparing Viking and Avalon as we knew nothing about either. We chose Avalon as it was the right timing and we received free air fare. Lol. We really didn't know much about destinations or places we wanted to see but thought we would start with the Danube and see what that was like. We quickly found that the destination was only part of the trip. We enjoyed every minute of the time we spent on the Avalon Impression. The cruise director, Kristine was a delight. So organized and seemed to know all passengers in a very short time. She was so informative and helpful at every turn. The Captain Roland was also wonderful. He took time to answer questions and made us feel like he was at home with his ship and we felt well cared for on the water. The ship its self was very nice. The rooms seemed adequate in the space we had and supplied everything we needed. Our room attendant, Flory was delightful. She kept us put together at all times and was so polite and helpful, we had no complaints. We so enjoyed meeting the other travelers from different places and had overall an amazing experience. This was a trip I never imagined I would get to experience and Avalon made it one I hope to do again. Read Less

This was our first time to Europe. It was truly amazing. I never had an idea on how old some of the sites were and the history of the area. Prague was our first stop and was an amazing city. We went on the walking tour and learned so much from the history of Prague. We boarded the ship in Nuremberg and was greeted by a very friendly crew and easy cabin assignment. What was so nice was the size of the cruise. There were only a little over 100 passengers. We made some new friends and had a great time getting to know a lot of the people on the cruise. The transportation on all of the excursions was top of the line. The busses were very comfortable and was very easy to see all of the sites. The service at the meals was outstanding and the servers very friendly. The food was very good and we came away not too stuffed and still able to walk. The only unfortunate thing was that we lost one of the engines on the ship and had to be bussed to the next stop in Budapest. But Avalon put us up in a first class hotel. We also were able to get to see a lot of the amazing sites in Budapest. We would definitely go again, this time I think we would do the Rhine. On Avalon of course. Thanks for the great time and all of the amazing sites we visited. Read Less

We chose this trip based on recommendation of a friend who planned to go but didn’t book in time. It was absolutely great. Exceeded every expectation. The ship was wonderful, our cruise director, Mauro, fantastic and the staff especially Bianco could not be more accommodating. Super! The AvalonGO app is the best yet. It was so good to be able to take pictures and make notes at the time instead of trying to remember all of the valuable information provided by the guides. Also the recommendations of things to see and places to eat were invaluable. The excursions were well planned and the cost reasonable although I probably got carried away and over scheduled. I only say that because the app won’t let you double book but I probably should allowed more free time because the destinations were so wonderful - loved every minute and can’t wait to do it again. So happy to have the days in Budapest before the cruise as well as the time in Prague afterward. The folklore dinner in Hungary was excellent. The Danube is just gorgeous. To wake up and look out the window to see a cathedral on the hillside was thrilling. We really enjoyed seeing how the locks work. It was fascinating. Loved sitting on the Sky Deck and looking at the shoreline. The Intercontinental Hotel in Budapest was great. Loved our time there. How nice of Avalon to have someone available for advice at the hotel. Embarkation was smooth-did lose a suitcase because the tag came off but was easily retrieved. The cabin was clean, well decorated and we loved the floor to ceiling windows. Particularly liked the small ship and the atmosphere and ambiance. Plenty of room without the traffic of larger ships. I don’t think We’ll ever do the large ship again. The food was quite excellent with a huge variety of options all with a wonderful flavor. Who would think that mustard soup would be so extraordinary? The port talks were very interesting and the entertainment exceptional. We made new friends which we hope will be for life. Loved, loved, loved this trip! Read Less

We sailed on the Impression, but our Journey started several days earlier with an extension in Salzburg. Tamas was our guide on the ship, and was also our guide in Salzburg. I cannot say enough about how incredible he was. Everything was taken care of for us, and he was always available to answer questions. Our cabin was wonderful for the most part....the last night on board a shorter boat docked next to our boat, and as we had the last cabin, the other boat's exhaust pumped into our cabin. That was disconcerting and a bit concerning, but was the only negative thing I can say. The food was wonderful, and I loved that we had so many locally sourced foods. The entertainment was very enjoyable, the ship piano player was fantastic. The duo that got on the boat in Vienna and rode with us for a little while was great! All those that served on the ship were always relaxed and smiling, and served with great skill. The excursions were as advertised, and very enjoyable. The guides were knowledgeable and for the most part, very good at keeping those on the tour interested. The one poor guide was a lady in Grein who told us the same things over and over again interspersed with 'I don't know what else to tell you." I am not sure if she is inexperienced, or if she was uninterested. Overall, this was one of the best vacations of our lives, and a great way to celebrate our 30th anniversary! Read Less

Not only were the accommodations excellent, also were the staff. Never have I seen staff so committed to their job. The atmosphere was like family and we had so much fun with everyone from the Captain Ronald to Director Tony. There was never a dull moment with so many options for excursions offered. The best part is that many of the excursions offered were included with additional excursions offered at a very reasonable price. Let me also mention the food...delicious! All meals offered fresh food options as well as many non-meat options for those vegetarians. Included was a lounge that offered non-alcohol drinks, cookies and pastries at all times! The rooms were always attended to and the finishes were lovely. I can't wait to return!! Read Less

Avalon river cruise is absolutely the way to go. Avalon is a first class river cruise line at very reasonable prices. The ship is beautiful, with glass french door walls that open to give you a view of the river, local towns and castles. This was our first river cruise and we traveled with 25 friends and family. Taking a river cruise with friends and family is the way to go, sharing every moment together with members of the group, yet always having the flexibility to wander off on your own. Food on the ship was outstanding, and the crew under the leadership of the Captain felt like an extension of our family. They operated like a well oiled machine.. They were all so cordial, joked, very attentive, and so helpful. Avalon's Cruise Director Monika was so knowledgeable and helpful. She was outstanding and quick to help find out information if needed. All the tours and activities were well organized. What we liked most about the river cruise was the ability to dock next to the town, and go for walks whenever you wanted and wherever you wanted. Avalon also was very considerate of the different type of travelers. If you were older and more limited in walking, they had a gente traveler arrangement and would provide the equivalent of a golf cart in some locations to help ease the touring. Then for those of us that were more active, we could take beautiful hikes, or use the bikes on the ship to go bike riding through the towns and local area. Plus they had the classical tours for the average traveler. Everything was so well thought out. Almost everyone in our group took the top cabin deck and found the views beautiful. At night we would sit on the top ship deck and watch the towns and castles go by all lite up. It was so smooth, like riding on glass. What a change from ocean cruises that are always so crowded and not smooth, plus you have to take tenders to get to the towns your visiting which takes time. If you are thinking about taking a river cruise, everyone in our group highly recommends Avalon. We are already looking at planning another river cruise with Avalon. Read Less

After wanting to try a river cruise for a long time, we finally joined with a group of friends for Avalon's Blue Danube Discovery. Trip began in Budapest where we had two days to explore the city before boarding the ship, trip ended in Prague, where we had about a day and a half. Shortly after arriving we met Monika van der Drift, our Cruise Director, who was terrific and did a wonderful job from that moment until the very end- high praise for her! We cannot say enough good things about her. Embarkation and disembarkation were very smooth, and the ship's captain and crew were warm, friendly, efficient and professional. The Captain was open and engaging, and several in our group with ship-sailing experience from their military days enjoyed visiting the Bridge, and seeing how things worked, and were very impressed with his knowledge and skill in navigating the Danube. We loved our cabin, with its floor to ceiling windows, and efficient, functional layout- we have been on big cruise ships and this was by far, the most comfortable room and bathroom layout we have ever experienced- bed was also very comfortable. A+ for the room. Food was very good and we liked the option of eating lunch or dinner in main dining room or having a lighter meal on the first deck- this was particularly nice one evening when we cruised and watched the sunset over the Danube.Service was very good, we never had a problem, even when adding more seats to our dining table to accommodate some of our party-very graciously the dining room staff helped with this. Food was especially good for the two "special" dinners, the Chef's Dinner and even better, the Gala Farewell Dinner. Online DJ, Delyan, was great, and responsive to what he noticed passengers enjoying. We so enjoyed listening and dancing each evening. One evening a local ban, The Untouchables, came aboard to entertain, another evening it was The Bavarian Devils- both were terrific. There were also wine and beer tasting events, scheduled at a time that was convenient for those who wished to attend. There was a nice program of fitness activities with Ana, the Activities Director. Bikes are available on board, and many in our group took advantage of this. As for the ports, it was a nice variety of city and small town. I have a list of towns I want to return to. I will say, we were there during the heat wave hitting Europe this summer, which made for some really hot days of walking, but that is weather, and better than rain! We really appreciated the always- available water on those days. As for the excursions, there was a nice variety and you could select from both included and those available for an extra fee. Some of our favorites? Royal Waltz concert in Vienna was outstanding and almost made us forget the heat, trip to Cesky Krumlov, Nuremberg, Regensberg and Prague city tours. The wine pairing tour in Budapest also got rave reviews from those in our group. One unexpected treat was lunch on the tour of Nuremberg- much better than you might expect for a tourist group type meal. One not to repeat? Horse show and lunch in Budapest- this is much more suitable for young children, and not the Hungarian horse show you think you are going to see. We had looked forward to Schonbrunn Palace, but to be honest, it was a bit of a disappointment. We were given time to explore the extensive gardens, but no map to guide us so were worried we would not find our way back in time for the house tour. Lack of air movement in the Palace made things difficult in the heat. We did lose the last day of sailing as another ship (not Avalon!) had hit and damaged a lock, but we felt fortunate that we did not have more disruption because of this. Would we do this again? Absolutely, and we have been looking at options since getting home. It was a wonderful, wonderful vacation, thank you Avalon! Read Less

Our travel agent recommended Avalon. The social director was excellent. Also Anna the activity director was fantastic. The small size allowed us to get on and off with ease. Smooth sail. Only 157 passengers. So convenient to return to our cabin. Beautiful scenery and narration by the social director. Met many nice people from all over the country. Got together with some after disembarking in Vienna. While the breakfast, lunch, snack service were excellent, they cleared it up rather quickly and when you returned from a tour you had to rush to get a snack. The dinner service staff needs to be trained not to remove the bread basket and olive oil in the middle of dinner. The serving of coffee or tea was not served either at the proper time and sometimes not served at all. We enjoyed the hot chocolate and cappuccino machine in the lounge. The robes and towels were soft. Read Less

We chose this cruise as it visited many of the major cities we were interested in going to. By taking this cruise it gave us the opportunity to consider which cities we would like to return to and spend more time. We have traveled with Avalon in the past and are impressed with the high level of organization and attention to details. From booking the cruise through our disembarkation in Budapest everything was taken care of first class. Our state room was on the second level with a balcony. It was very comfortable and provided adequate room for the 2 weeks. The entire staff was very helpful, pleasant and accommodating. They would go out of their way to make you comfortable. We took advantage of all the shore excursions which were broke down into smaller groups which allowed us a far better experience than some other tour operators we saw in the cities. The knowledge and quality of local guides was very helpful. We will continue to use Avalon as our primary cruise line. Read Less

We chose this ship for its itinerary as we wanted to visit the Netherlands to see the tulips, in particular Keukenhof Gardens. This was our first river cruise so we splurged on an upper cabin, Cabin 314. Great room with a very comfortable bed that faced huge windows overlooking the passing scenery. Plenty of storage but could have had a few more drawers. Ports were good but traffic traveling to and from the Keukenhof, Brussels and Bruges became an issue. They may have been better served to find closer ports, if possible. Ship has a large lounge where they hold light lunches and dinner, entertainment in the evening, yoga and other exercise classes during the day and a very nice bar. There is a smaller lounge at the rear of the ship that had games, books, drinks and cookies & muffins. They could have changed their snacks more frequently as they served the same type daily. Evening entertainment was usually a piano player and select nights they invited a trio who played 50s and 60s and another who played classical music. Evening entertainment was not a draw for us or in general the type of passengers on the ship. They did have a happy hour usually from 5:45 to 6:45 where drinks are half price and then the cruise director gave a brief overview of the next day’s port of call. The ship was immaculate at all times. The main dining room served all three meals as it was too chilly for the upper deck to be open. Breakfast was a buffet with an egg station where you can order omelets or eggs any way. They usually had items that could be ordered directly from the kitchen, such as waffles, pancakes, etc. Lunch was a buffet and was very tasty with a nice selection every day and usually a carving station. Dinner was not as consistent. Portions were unusually small. I ordered a shrimp cocktail which had one shrimp and a few teeny tiny ones. I had a puff pastry ragout but got no puff pastry. The cream soups were very good. Entrees were a total mixed bag. I ordered fish and it was over cooked, another time is was undercooked, the rack of lamb was over seasoned and some days the pasta dish was delicious and another it was watery. Such a shame. Wine and beer were free flowing during dinner which is a nice change from regular cruises. Service was inconsistent as well. It is open seating and dinner is served from 7 to 9. If you sat closer to the kitchen, service was generally quicker and more attentive than sitting towards the entrance. They could use a few more service staff. Dining was very casual and you could wear the same clothes you wore during the day. No one dressed for dinner. I wish I knew in advance and I would have not packed some of my clothes. Staff was great. The captain was very visible and frequently was at the gangway when we were leaving or coming back from excursions. The cruise director, Bram, was all over and did a wonderful job keeping us informed and dealing with questions and resolving issue. The wait staff, housekeeping, front desk could not have been nicer. The fitness center is extremely small - one treadmill, one bike and one weight table. They did have exercise classes early in the morning and throughout the day but we were mostly out on excursions. The weather was chilly so you need to dress in layers and good walking shoes. we frequently did over 10 miles per day but we like to wander. At embarkation, they greeted you and you stayed comfortably in the lounge with piano music, light lunch and an available bar until the rooms were ready. At disembarkation, we were staying an extra day. You requested the day before for a taxi and while you had to be out of your room by 9 AM, you waited comfortably in the lounge until it arrived. All very civilized and you did not have to leave your luggage out the day before, just 1/2 hour before you had to leave or by 9AM. I would recommend this tulip cruise but be aware of dining issues. I would definitely go on another Avalon cruise if they were going to areas of interest. Read Less

I chose this cruise because the tour started in Prague, a city I have wanted visit for years. It is one of my husband's favorite cities. It also ended in Budapest; a city that neither of us had visited before. Even with the low water conditions and starting the cruise in a different spot that was further from Prague than Nuremberg and ending in Vienna, rather than Budapest, our cruise director, Danielle, did a fabulous job of jockeying for excellent alternatives for tours, hotel rooms, and entertainment options. The on board accommodations, dining and amenities were outstanding with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. There was a small fitness room on board, emphasis on small. However, there were very nice bicycles on board that we used when we didn't want to pay for a 4-hour round trip excursion for the day. The only downside with respect to other river cruises was that there were far more "not included" excursions than with other cruise companies that we have traveled with. Read Less

These tours are wonderful way to see lovely ports and hear of the history of europe without having to re-pack suitcase each day. I am a solo traveler, but a girlfriend was also on the cruise. I felt we still had a good time even though there were almost no actual solo travelers or girlfriend groups onboard. The panoramic staterooms are just wonderful. Being able to lie on bed and see the lovely scenery was breathtaking. I enjoyed sitting by the window and seeing the countryside as well as the towns drift by. Our tour did have low water conditions which caused us to miss a day on the boat - two nights at the beginning and one at the end. Avalon compensates you for this inconvenience and missing some of the river. They do put you up at a 5 star hotel. The bus rides were not so far, and the tours proceeded as they normally would if we had docked in town. So I never had to repack a suitcase. If the lower water was in the center, it might have had a more dramatic impact. I paid for the optional excursion to Cesky Krumlov in Czech Republic, and it was a highlight for me. Beautiful bus ride through the countryside too. Read Less

This was a fantastic cruise! We cruised from Vienna to Passau and then were transported to Munich where we spent an additional three nights. We arrived in Vienna two days early so that we could spend a day at the Spanish Riding School, attend morning exercise and take an afternoon tour of the stables. This was a trip highlight! Vienna is a beautiful, relaxed city with wonderful outdoor cafes. Another cruise highlight was a side trip arranged by Avalon to Dachau Concentration Camp, a highlight for us since my father was part of the U.S. Army liberation forces there. Everyone should visit this site! The cruise also offered a day trip to southern Bohemia in the Czech Republic to Cesny Kremlov, a beautiful, historic town and a UNESCO world heritage site. Another trip highlight was a shore excursion from Munich to Neuschwanstein Castle - this was a fabulous side trip and another UNESCO world heritage site. Finally, we arrived in Munich on the day Oktoberfest started which was a pleasant surprise, as the city was in festival mode and many people were dressed in traditional lederhosen and dirndls. Beer was abundant! We went on a river cruise on the Rhine about 4 years ago on another cruise line and had issues with our cabin that were never resolved. Avalon's cabin, dining and services were all excellent and much better than our previous experience on Viking. We will definitely cruise on Avalon again! We could not have been more satisfied! Have not previously had an opportunity to visit/your this part of Europe. The cruise and the audio guided tours were so informative and inspiring of the historical significance of each region. I would do the same cruise again were it not for need to explore other areas of Europe as well. The cruise director Katy as the face of Avalon was most informative, humorous, accomodating and professional. The local onboard extra entertainment with musicians added to the overall enjoyment. The changes in the shops schedule due to low water levels were made up by some of the extra included tours that would have been optional. The food service personnel were most accomodating with special doet needs of my travel partner eho is gluten and dairy free. I especially enjoyed the barrista machine available 24/7. Also appreciated the early (6am) continental breakfast prior to dining room opening at 7am. Highly recommend this cruise and expect to explore another area of Europe by river soon. Read Less

Loved our trip! Fabulous cruise! Great service everywhere on the ship, everywhere. That includes the tour director Katy, she was amazing. A few issues with low water levels, but Katy had a solution for every issue. She handled it all with a smile and good humor. Food was fabulous - I'm a picky eater and there was more to eat then I needed. You could be as good or bad (LOL) as you wanted. One couple was vegetarian and they worked hard to keep them full and happy. BTW, generous pours of wine at lunch and dinner! Loved the carving station, great french fries, wonderful omelettes and croissant for breakfast. The service was up there with the very best. Fabulous activities and excursions - all the tours and tour guides we great. Absolutely no complaints. My only complaint was the music during the cocktail hour. It was an electric piano with added musical sound effects. I'm 66 and the music would have made my 93 year old father happy. I think most of the guests were baby boomers - it would have been so much more fun for us if we were relaxing and drinking to Motown, 60's 70's and 80's, etc. rock or pop. Hearing our memories - instead of my father's memories would have been a huge improvement. Sorry to be so harsh, but the music often painful and elicited moans from the group. Other than that it was all we wanted and needed. Will definitely look into another Avalon cruise. Already recommended it to our friends that travel. Read Less

We then biarded the Avalon Visionary. We were told that in order to “catch a wave “we had to skip Nuremberg. We were okay with all this and Avalon did offer compensation in the way if extra excursions and some reimbursement. We were given the impression that all would be well from then on. However, three days before the end of our trip we were told that the last two days would be in a hotel in Budapest because the boat was scheduled for another trip. Half of us were in one hotel and half in another so we never got to say good-bye to friends we had made, had mediocre hotel buffet/cafeteria food and lost two days of the riverboat experience because of Avalon’s unnecessary decusion. At first they lied to us and said in writing thst it was the water situation. When we saw our ship in Budapest, we demanded answers and we were then told in writing “The shipwas due to begin new cruise today in Budapest on an already scheduled deoarture. In order to not disrupt another cruise.......we scheduled your last nights in Budapest in a hotel.” Shame on them! In all fairness, we lived our time on the biat. The Avalon Impression is a beautiful ship, but the staff and especially the cruise director (Bram Van Dyke) made the cruise a marvelous experience. We boarded early in Amsterdam and while our cabin was being serviced we borrowed the bicycles and rode around "bike city". Our cabin was ready at boarding time and a wonderful welcome aboard dinner afterward. The ship is spacious and beautifully decorated. Our stateroom was well appointed and storage space and closets were more than adequate for the requirements of a 14 day cruise. It was surprising how quiet the staterooms were (even underway and docking). Included excursions were well organized, informative and efficient. There were generally three groups and sometimes a fourth for "gentle walkers" All of the transportation was on air conditioned buses with WC. The guides were pleasant, informative and fluent. Due to low water levels on the Danube we were unable to continue the cruise on our ship. In these adverse conditions, I have to commend Avalon for the care, concern and professionalism in how they transported the passengers from our ship to another ship that was beyond the low water area of the Danube. I am a retired airline captain and I understand disruptions in service due to environmental factors. Our cruise director and the management of Avalon performed in an exemplarly manner in these adverse situations. Our cruise was to end in Budapest but once again the water level on the Danube made it impossible to cruise to the City. Avalon responded again with excellent transportation and beautiful hotels in Budapest. Including tours and meal reimbursement. Another logistical miracle. Well done!! Read Less

I have been on several ocean cruises but this was my first river cruise. My travel agent suggested the Avalon cruise to me as a great way to see a part of Europe. I have seen Europe before and recently spent time in Germany but this cruise gave me a whole new perspective of travel and seeing the sights. Land tours take you to the big cities and towns but river cruising gives you the opportunity to see the small villages and how people really live. The ship is truly a floating hotel with all the amenities. There are a wide variety of shore excursion options to choose from including fully guided tours, orientation tours with time to sight see on your own to just grabbing a bike (with helmet) and taking off on your own (maps provided). There were a variety of lectures and nightly entertainment by local artists from the villages we visited. It was interesting to see them get on and off the ship at the locks we went through; 68 locks in all! The food was amazing! It was locally sourced and the lunch and dinner menus featured local dishes of the towns we were visiting that day. All the staff were so gracious and personable and it was fun getting to know them. I can't wait to book another river cruise on Avalon; especially if it is as great a trip as this one was! Read Less

First time river cruise and after 20 plus Ocean cruises we decided to experience a River cruise. The embarkation was easy and even thou we arrived a little early we were located into the Lounge to await our rooms readiness. Our room was better than expected with a large bathroom and shower. Storage was adequate and we had a large she in the room. We had 116 passengers onboard so not full capacity, the layout and the facilities onboard we easy to navigate and allowed for many areas where on could comfortably relax with out a crowd. Food service was excellent with a local varied menu selection. Dinner was a 7PM and wines flowed liberally. Breakfast and lunch were available in the dining room and a lighter selection of those were available in the forward lounge, which was nice to have. Again beverages were complimentary and always served. Evening Happy hour had 1/2 price drinks but I will say the full price was a little steep. Port shore excursions were always well guided and were very interesting giving adequate free time to explore. Of course we could always have more free time everywhere! We had a small problem with the Danube being closed near Regensburg for a grounding of a overweight freighter. We had packed to leave the ship but in the end we remain onboard. I will not get into detail but to my great pleasure the cruise director Anna and Avalon made our small problem into an experience of fabulous customer service. Additional perks and options were made available to smooth out our repacking and inconvenience. Congratulations to all Avalon personal for showing us there are travel companies that understand excellent customer service. Finally, the onboard staff. From top to bottom each and every staff member were pleasant, professional and enjoyed their work. We could not fault any crew member. Read Less

I chose to do a second riverboat cruise because I loved the first one of the Rhine River on Avalon and thought I would try the Danube. What I liked best was the attention to details. The cabin has a great bed.....great shower. Even the blow dryer is good enough so I don't have to bring my own. I like the robe and slippers since it means I don't have to pack those and there's never enough room in my suitcase with the weight restrictions these days. The same goes for the toiletries. Qualify brand. The cruise director was amazing....and the hotel manager got me into my room BEFORE the scheduled time as I had traveled all night and was exhausted. The onboard talent was superior. Everyone on board was friendly and efficient and the food was amazing. I love that there are so many choices at dinner as I am a bit fussy about food. The presentation was beautiful but more than that, the chef was extraordinary. Breakfast lunch and dinner were always a treat. Wine choices were good as well. I have nothing negative to say which seems crazy as I've traveled a lot so I have experiences to compare but the quality of service, attention to detail and the product presented are all excellent. Wish I could do more of these but they are expensive. I didn't criticize for that as you have to pay for that type of Five Star service and attention to small details. Read Less

I chose Avalon because of their state rooms - wonderful to have the entire room become your balcony. I can’t say enough good about this trip! There was not one single flaw in the entire experience. It was absolutely wonderful and we will choose Avalon again! The ship was wonderful, the service fantastic and the food was delicious! I felt pampered the entire week. It was our first river cruise and it was a wonderful experience! We started with 3 days in Prague which we loved and then cruised the Danube river from Nuremberg to Budapest for 7 nights. We got to see a lot of history as well as the beauty of the countryside. I loved the sailing part - nice and slow so you could take in the scenery. It was fun going through all the Locke’s. The ships staff was wonderful - attentive and willing to always make you happy. Cruise director Carolina was the BEST!!! We will definitely do another river cruise with Avalon. Would not even consider another cruise line. Read Less

There was a strong focus on regional foods all throughout the cruise. The chef on this cruise was absolutely brilliant. His food presentations and plating were absolutely world class. A special shoutout to two Avalon staff members on our cruise - Micky and Donika. They went above and beyond to make our trip very special.
