My Husband and I were so excited to try a Royal Caribbean cruise. We have been on many cruises in the past but always with Carnival. We were told by many of our friends that we would never go back to Carnival after cruising with Royal Caribbean. This statement was false in every way. When we first boarded the ship we went directly to our cabin. Wow we thought the Carnival cabins and bathrooms were small until we entered EOS cabin. There was barely enough space to change clothes and your knees hit the wall in the bathroom. Also not to mention that the bathroom smelled like urine. We are 40 plus yr old adults who love arcades. We bought a package for 80. To get 100 for the arcade. When we finally located the arcade we were highly disappointed. There was only 1 game and 5 or 6 crane games. After spending 30 minutes in line at the customer service desk We were given a refund. We were so use to the amazing arcades on Carnival boats that our disappoint snow balled from there. On carnival ships there are several locations for dinning and they have a system to where everyone waits their turn. The windjammer, without a doubt, was the worst organized buffet we have ever seen!!! It was a mad house. People jumping in front of you left and right. Since there wasn't a lot of options to eat on this ship we tried to make due. Once we finally found a table to dine we were interrupted multiple times by servers trying to up sell you on Chops fine dinning. Since we're not meat eaters it was so annoying to be asked over and over again. The food was the worse cruise food we had ever had. The only thing we liked about the windjammer was the attendant who stood out front and made you sanitize your hands before entering. There was barely any activities to do on this ship. Carnival had separate dance clubs, comedy clubs, piano bars, and shows every night in the theater. Since everyone highly appraised RC we expected so much more then what Carnival had to offer. I know most people don't watch tv in their rooms while on a cruise but we like to retire in our room for some rest and relaxing. Unfortunately there is nothing to watch on their tv's unless you want to watch previous recording of what happened in the theater the night before. Carnival arltleast had a few channels and pay per view. We streamed net flix on our phone and watch tv on our phone that way. For 6 months we were so excited to try RC but felt like a floating time share. It was the worst cruise we had ever taken. The only thing we know for sure is we will book our next cruise back with Carnival. Read Less

The room 3068 -good The Ship- ok lots of visible rust The coffee beverage card- insanely stupid and screws You over: buy a card $32-34 good for 15 drinks NOT!! It is treated as 1 mark off for every expresso shot. So if a drink is $3 or 5 if it has more than a single shot they will mark your card for every shot. $3 cost for an Americano they charge you 4 drinks on card. So you can only get 3 and 3/4 drinks for a total of $12 if bought outright but $32 + if you use discount card !! Bad math jerks!! I can buy 15 $5 Frappuccinos for $75 but only 3 3/4 Americanos - YOU ARE STUPID IDIOTS!! Staff - they were great if not amazing this trip over last year. FOOD- can you say average and lacking in choice and mediocre quality!! Entertainment- good comedians but lounge performances were highly lacking. You have cut corners so much that you SUCK!! Royal I gave you two years and $$$$ thousands of dollars. Carnival kicks your but at everything!! I suggest you go over to the compete date learn how it’s done right. Read Less

We chose Royal Caribbean based of off the vibrant brochure and commercials we wanted to go on a cruise thought wld be full of excitement. First off our room was incredibly small the shower was very small the shower head would fall off and the water didn't go down the drain completely which left it with a uncomfortable smell. The bed is like sleeping on the floor extremely painful to sleep on. Dont be confused by the pictures of the ship it is a very dull and unappealing sight. When we were on our final destination the pictures and television showed us an amazing view of a beach with a waterpark but when we got there the beach looked like a construction site there was no waterpark just a bunch of signs saying coming soon. The food was decent but again not as advertised. Also there is no iron in your room they wont tell you that but instead they will let u get ur clothes pressed for a small fee...found that out the hard way. The crew was the best thing about the cruise. We will not be going on anymore Royal Caribbean cruises I'd rather get on a raft and pedal myself than to go on another Royal Caribbean cruise. Never been so excited to get off of vacation Read Less

My husband and I have never been on a cruise before. There is not enough communication by the ship or crew. We didn't know the first thing about cruising and or the charges. This was the most expensive vacation we have every been on we suffered charges after charges. Would you like internet? charge... would you like a better dinner than the buffet? charge. Would you like to do something when you get off the boat, charge, Park your car, charge. You cannot even find a private beach within walking distance in Nassau, they are all private and you have to pay even to go to the beach. You want to play bingo, charge. Not enough to do on this ship!! Also don't go to Nassau Bahamas , dirty stinky and you get bombarded by locals to buy stuff the minute you get off the ship. The beds are hard, we had a horrible loud noise in our tiny cabin for two nights before it stopped!! We didn't get much sleep Read Less

This was my first Royal Caribbean cruise and I was so excited about it. We departed on a Friday at 4 PM and came back on Monday at 8 AM from Port Canaveral. The boarding process was simple and easy. Other than that, what a disappointment. We were in an adjoining ocean view room on the 4th floor next to the elevators. The design of the ship is terrible as there was a walking track right above our heads. We could here people above us starting at 6 AM each morning. The design for the bathroom is bad too as the shower faces out into the entire bathroom and it's very easy to accidentally wet everything outside the shower. The shower curtain was also gross as it had pink mildew on the bottom of it. You also have to call room service to have ice delivered as well as a corkscrew delivered and this typically took between 30 - 45 minutes. This ship is old and in desperate need of maintenance and painting as it looks worn and dated. There were several light bulbs out in the solarium pool area along with tiles missing in the overall design of the space. The food was terrible. We had 8:30 PM dining each night and the food was ALWAYS cold and the salad was soggy. I know how difficult it is to prepare food for a high volume of people, but I've been on other cruises and never received cold food. The crew was not friendly. I don't believe I received a smile from a single crew member the entire cruise. The entertainment was so dated. It was catered to 55+ age group. I heard that this ship is going to be docked for repairs in May and even with this knowledge my disappointment remains the same. No matter what ship I go on, I expect for it to be well maintained and for the staff to be friendly especially when an 18% gratuity is tacked on for everything. Royal Caribbean lost me as a customer forever because of my experience. The two positives from my perspective was that the bed was very comfortable and our cabin steward did a nice job cleaning our room each day. Read Less

Did a 4-day Enchantment Cruise in February. Used Port Canaveral. One day at sea, one at private island (Coco Cay), one in Nassau. Nothing new to add from other reviews. However, there were a few noteworthy positives and one overwhelming negative: There were two particularly positive aspects of our cruise on the Enchantment (our seventh RC cruise). The food was incredible. Quality was high, portions were generous, and service great. This being in stark contrast to a brief RC cruise from Tampa to Key West and Cuba last June, when the quality was terrible, portions small, and service indifferent. RC seems to have completely righted the ship, pun intended, regarding their food service. It was the best ever even compared with two Celebrity Cruises. We do not define our satisfaction with a cruise based on the food (we are not big eaters); but, one should not overlook the seemingly great turnaround by RC with its food service. And, the entertainment was as good as we've observed on any of our 13 prior cruises. The dance troupe, in particular, was incredible: high energy, great choreography, and extremely entertaining. And the bad news: As in the past, we checked in well before our departure on the RC website and obtained our Set Sail passes (months ago). To do so, we provided a credit card and affirmed that we could go cashless on the ship. We went to disembark and were not permitted to do so. Instead, we were directed to the Guest Services desk and into a line with at least 40 people. Ultimately, we were told that we needed to present a credit card because they had none on record--even though the night before, when we obtained our balance from Guest Services, the paper showed the last four digits of our credit card!. Too, we had the page from the Set Sail application showing we entered the credit card, but the RC Agent insisted that none was on record (subsequently, we learned almost everyone in line had the same experience). We provided a credit card and the Agent asked if he could keep the paper proving a credit card was of record long before we boarded. We were over 90 minutes late in departing and this stressful delay caused us to just barely make our flight out of Orlando. This episode gives rise to two questions: (1) What happened to the credit card we put on file? and, (2) If they were missing a credit card for us (and most of the other guests in line), why didn't they call us on one of the four prior days when we were on the ship to obtain a credit card instead of pulling us out of the departure line and delaying our exit? Needless to say, an otherwise stress-free trip became very stressful and the therapeutic benefits of the Cruise were undone by Royal Caribbean's ineptitude and unsophisticated way of handling the matter. The Guest Services station during this debacle was thinly staffed (there were two open terminals) and no supervisor was visible. The agent was neither contrite nor understanding. He acknowledged that they had a problem with their computer system, but failed to show any compassion to the many people enduring a needless delay in exiting. Our loyalty to RC has abated and, as a result of this problem, we likely will take our business elsewhere. Our travel agent was made aware of the situation and said she would take it up with RC. That was nearly 45 days ago and she acknowledged that she received no feedback from the cruise line. I guess they can afford to be arrogant with full ships and great earnings. But company's like RC are built one consumer at a time and they likely have lost this consumer! Read Less

Me and my partner went on this cruise for a getaway weekend and the overall review of the ship was poor. Our best time we had was off the ship at our excursions. I have been on 9 other cruises and this was by far the worst cruising experience. Food: Poor, there were only three main places to eat where the food was bland and they actually announced to leave the dining room when finished because room was cramped. Also room service is not free compared to other ships where it is. They served the same food twice for lunch and breakfast was the just about the same every day. Activities on ship: Poor, I was disappointed that there was no separate piano bar, comedy club, sweet shop. All these activists were ran in the main theatre room. Compared to other royal carribean ships the shows were disappointing and what was shown on the commercials was not similar so do not expect what you see. Cococay: We has been shown the cococay pictures and were very excited to ride the water slides and water park. When we arrived that island had not been finished and there was no water park, and felt like we had been scammed and didn’t read the fine print. Besides that the beaches were not crowded and very nice. Room: Moderate, our housekeeper was amazing but we unknowing booked our room under the casino. BAD IDEA. We were kept up until 2 a.m every night and when we asked the staff to quiet down or move rooms they had told us “well we make the most money at this time in the casino”. We are young and go to bed later but the noise was extranet loud and you could hear people screaming in the casino. Very disappointed. Overall we had felt like we wasted our money besides the excursions, due to the food, activities and treatment. Read Less

Picked the cruise for the date and port. Service is very good but the staff looks exhausted. Few activities. Activities manager is not happy with annoying customers. Missed CoCoCay due to weather. RC does not advertise how many times they miss CoCoCay which is billed as the highlight of the cruise. Nassau is not good. Blue Lagoon was not well maintained and they reserve the only good part of the beach for VIP customers. The food is bland. Freshly cooked and warm but bland. Did the bottomless mimosa brunch and galley tour. It was hit and miss. Did not care about employee of the month program and it seemed like they were stalling and filling time. Mimosas were good. The food was the same food you get at lunch ... nothing special and they don’t show the menu until you sit down so you don’t know that they are giving you less for $35 per person. The cruise industry is similar to the automobile industry ... some people get good deals and others pay full price for less. The boat cannot handle rough seas. We got tossed around too much for what little winds we went through. I do not recommend. Lobster, filet, lean steak, baked potato all cost extra. When you miss COCOCAY, you get nothing extra ... you just stay on the boat. Big disappointment and loss of value when you miss the port. Old boat. Tender ports will be missed due to even the slightes storm or winds due to safety reasons. They are deceptive. Plausible Ignorance is their motto. Website is useless. Customer Service line is poorly trained. Would love to sit down with the CEO in the park cafe and share a hard as rock stale cookie and a slice of cold pizza. Ask him if it is worth $1000 per person. The comic performed at 11:30 pm on the last day of the cruise only ... too late. Missed the parade of flags because it was too crowded. Pay for room service. Pay for coke. Pay for bottled water. Ice cream tasted like cardboard. Poor value. Read Less

Something has definately changed with RC and not for the better. I have been loyal to royal however, the last few cruises with them have been terrible. My last cruise happened to be my very first in carnival and unfortunately I spent this cruise wishing I was back on the carnival ship. Our stateroom was fine, had an inside room which we prefer. Asked for an extension cord and extra pillows qnd they were provided right away. The bathroom though, is the smallest I have ever seen on a ship before. The purpose for this cruise was a burial at sea for my father. We had prior permission from RC and were told to confirm details once in ship, which we tried to do. First trip to guest services, we met a lovely attendant who took our info and assured us an officer would be in contact later that day with the arrangements. That dudnt happen. 2nd trip to guest services, had to explain the whole thing over again and then said we could have the service anytime that day between 9am and 6pm., we chose 11am. 3rd trip to guest services, with my fathers cremains in tote, had to wait nearly an hour because they were in the middle of a guest services meeting. Seems like they either could have changed their meeting time or just informed us the meeting times so as we wouldnt interrupt them. But neither of those things happened, so here we are waiting for an hour, on christmas day, to bury my father at sea. We had a small ceremony and the officer called our coordinates to the captain who made a very nice certificate with the coordinates on it and it was signed by the captain himself. I must say that was unexpected and a very nice touch! Much appreciated! The dinner service in main dining room was terrible, food was cold and tasteless and not much variety. It seemed like they were a bit overwhelmed the first night, I had to duck and cover most of the time to avoid being hit by reaching elbows. We ate there 2 nights and in the windjammer the last 2 nights. Windjammer was much better. I do have to say that I found the cruise director cruisin susan to be very lackluster and boring. Didnt find her funny nor entertaining at all. I watched the love and marriage show which is usually very funny, but this time around, it was a snooze fest. She really made me miss my cruise director from carnival, Alex was the best cruise director I have ever seen. She could learn a few things from him. I'm ready to book my next cruise but not feeling so loyal to royal any longer as things have been on a steady decline. For me this cruise was a swing and a miss! Read Less

This was our 3rd Royal Caribbean cruise and our second onboard this ship - our maiden cruise was onboard this ship and it was great. 3 years later the ship is old and worn. First issue was the weather, it was windy and cold when we left Cape Canaveral and didn't much improve over the next 3 days, so we missed the CocoCay stop. I understand this is not something RC controls and it's really a minor factor in this review. Lesson learned... don't book eastern Caribbean in December. WE selected "My Time" dining based on experience with it on a Princess cruise, however it's not really the same. What it allows you to do is change dinner reservations during the cruise, assuming what you want is available. Otherwise you are pushed to he side and seated as the cruise decides. Another lesson learned. The ship itself is tired and worn with all panels lifting away. The dinner menu is pretty much uninspired and food quality is OK. The absolute worst part was our cabin, 8150, it's below the Solarium pool deck and under a crew work area. We received a free upgrade to a junior suite and thought "good deal". As momma told me "there's no such thing as a free lunch". This has to be the noisiest room on the ship. We were kept awake all night on the first night with bumps, thuds, and metal-on-metal scraping over us starting about 2am. I mentioned it to our attendant and he told us to call "O" and complain. On the second night it started up again and was told they would investigate. It stopped about 3:30am. On the 3rd night it started again about 2am and once again I called. It stopped about 3 am. Tee next morning I went to the Guest desk and lodged a formal complaint. They gave me a 25% credit off this fare for use on another RC cruise (should have been 50-75%. I was assured that they would close the work area during our final night to stop the noise. Actually it did stay quiet until about 4 am, then it started up again. However, that brought to light another problem... a repeated creaking sound over the bed area. Hard to describe, but I thought my wife was wheezing. Turns out with all the other noises, this one was masked. Anyway, 4 sleepless nights and we're debating whether another RC cruise is worth the gamble. Read Less

We went with brother and his wife who usually cruise Carnival. We have been trying to get them onto RC for several years. Well this was not a ship for first impressions. The staff tried, but with the limited resources, they couldn't make up for the many deficiencies. The ship is very dated, with a lot of rust and dirt (even the fake plants in the solarium were very dirty & dusty. Looked like they hadnt been cleaned in years. They were working on the main pool deck and rails (sanding) every day. blocking off available chairs, even on sea days. We had a suite, so sufficient room except there are only 2 electrical outlets in the entire suite. Very inadequate for cell phones, tablet, coffee maker, hair dryer (and we bring a string of mini-lights for Christmas cruises. Security kept one bag as I had a multi-outlet plug in it which they kept and said that maintenance would provide one that had been tested by them. Never received. They didnt tell me until I asked the room attendant and she said that all luggage had been delivered and to go to deck one security. No lobster offered in main dining room, even on formal night. It seems every cruise they offer less and less. We are Diamond status and have begun trying other cruise lines, last year we did Princess and enjoyed very much. I just booked one for February on MSC, especially with their status match program. Brother and his wife were very disappointed with their balcony cabin also. Not a good first impression. Read Less

I was really looking forward to our Thanksgiving weekend cruise. Having been a loyal Carnival cruiser, we decided to switch it up and go with a smaller Royal ship. Big mistake! We are FREQUENT cruisers and have been on 25+ cruises so I know my way around a ship. This was by far the WORST. Everything from the cabin to the service was a disaster, and most of the food was dangerously under-cooked or inedible. The entertainment was barely noticeable and everyone seemed miserable working there-no smiling faces at all. The cruise director was barely visible and the staff was unorganized at best. The activities on the ship consisted of bingo and karaoke and that's about it really. The ship's photographers actually took many pictures of us where we had our eyes closed! The waiters forgot what we ordered and then said our desserts were coming even though we hadn't ordered any. Fake seafood in the ceviche---COME ON!!!! Lasagna tasted like it had some type of meat paste and like it came from a can of Chef Boyardee. Ports of call in the Bahamas were good, but there were no announcements that we heard as to when we could actually get off the ship. When diembarking there was no one to assist guests with where they were going and many people were confused. This is a real Skipper Gilligan! Read Less

This was a 50th anniversary celebration cruise for my entire family of 13 people. We chose this ship because of the sail date, departure and return port. That was the the first mistake. My wife and I have attained platinum status on Royal Caribbean. However the last time we were on a RCCL ship was in January of 2004. On that cruise the food was not so good, after this cruise, I don't think we will ever go on another Royal Caribbean ship. Let me tell you why. This last cruise was very disappointing. The food was mediocre at best, dining room service was extremely slow. Many of the niceties that we have come to expect on RCCL were missing. Such as days of the week on the carpet in the elevators, chocolate on the pillows, amenities in the bathroom, peppermill service in the dining room. The ship was in desperate need of maintenance. There was rust everywhere including the pool. My adult son was walking on the edge of the pool when he slipped and fell into the water. He cut his foot on one of the rust spots in the pool and required 5 stitches (RCCL provided the medial attention at No Charge). Because his foot was bleeding in the pool, the staff quickly closed and drained the pool. The artificial plants all over the ship were laden with dirt. The frame around the window in our cabin had missing screws and screws that were not seated properly, the door check on the cabin door had 6 screw holes but only 2 had screws in them (I have photos of the missing screws). The live music on the ship was painfully loud. When I questioned some of the senior people about these things, I got apologies. However things did not change. The shore excursion that we all went on was overpriced for what was given. There were people in our group from another ship from a different cruise line that paid less for the same tour. Shame on you Royal Caribbean. I hope someone at Royal Caribbean sees this review and initiates some changes. Read Less

We’ve been quite “Loyal to Royal” for some time with a few “outside” cruises over several decades. Our next cruise is booked for April, but because we had a November business conference in Orlando, we decided to start with a short cruise to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral. What a disappointment... It wasn’t the size of the ship- we actually prefer smaller, more traditional vessels (ie Navigator) over mega ships (ie Allure). But this was a MESS! From the condition of the ship to the kind staff who simply didn’t seem to understand quality standards, this was by far our worst cruise experience. CABIN We were in a “Superior” Balcony room that was supposed to be a little larger than standard, but it was FAR from “superior.” We’ve had this type cabin before, and they were comfortable enough, but not on Enchantment. Hindsight tells us we should have gone to the hotel director (or whatever they’re called) for assistance, but a) we knew the ship was full and b) we were trying to convince ourselves everything was ok. Not recommended! If you’re miserable, you should let someone know. There were literally chunks missing from the walls, scratches, dings, peeling wallpaper, a drawer that fell out when opened, a sagging bed, rust and mold spots in the bathroom, and burned or dark stains on the sofa fabric. These issues only scratch the surface. We asked our steward for extra bed padding which we recited, and it did help, but it was still miserable. I don’t know why some cabins have the bed placed close to the door vs the balcony, but ours was like this, and we had about 2 feet maximum between the foot of the bed and the wall to navigate around in order to access the sitting area, dressing area and balcony. I’d had a knee procedure a few months ago, and I’m a small person, but wrenching my body around that space wrenched my knee into a state of pain worse than before the procedure. STEWARD While not the best or friendliest, he met our needs and was decent enough. Maybe we’ve been spoiled in the past, but he just didn’t meet standards of what we’ve come to expect from RC. DINING Other than a birthday dinner at Chef’s Table (which was quite nice, with a small, very eclectic group whom we really enjoyed), we had dinner at the same table every night in the MDR. The food was ok, but we don’t expect “outstanding” meals when cruising, even with specialty dining. We had the same mait’re de, head waiter and waiter every night, and they provided reliable and personalized service which was greatly appreciated, and so we “recognized” them our last night. But what a huge disappointment when afterwards they actually “solicited” us by asking for “good reviews with our names mentioned.” If you know RC, or perhaps all cruise lines, you know this is a grande faux pas, “NO NO.” In fact, we didn’t complete the RC post-cruise survey because we were concerned about possibly jeopardizing the jobs of people who sincerely worked very hard, awkward though they were. ENTERTAINMENT/POOLS/FACILITIES A lot of action on this sailing was in the casino, noticed when we passed through on the way to other venues. You expect casinos to be smoky, but this one needs help with ventilation. Had we wanted to gamble, there’s no way we could stay and play. Enchantment’s main entertainment takes place in the multi level, glass balconied Centrum where guests dance and sing the evening away with the performers. Of course the spirit of fun always includes disco 70s night, but these performers soooo over did it (we’re talking MAJOR bump/grind/grab self) that we were creeped out and left. We then tried reliable spots like the Schooner Bar and Bolero’s, but there we encountered some public coupling that was just a little too intimate for our comfort zone, and we’re no “prudes.” We believe we later saw some of these guests in the performance crew? We usually spend a lot of time on sea days around the pools and enjoy the music and dancing, but the volume or acoustics were just excessive on Enchantment. We went to the solarium pool and found it a little more tolerable, but not quite as clean as what you normally see on RC. PORTS/EXCURSIONS Having been to Nassau several times and loving Pearl Island, we tried a different RC excursion to Blue Lagoon and LOVED it. We chose the VIP version which included a beach section for adults only, a barbecue lunch, welcome drinks and OUTSTANDING service, making us finally feel we were on vacation. We spent $45 extra for a beach bed cabana, and it was DEFINITELY worth it! The water was calm, clear, and truly Bahamian Blue. GORGEOUS! On the other hand, compared to RC’s other private beaches on Labadee, Coco Cay was extremely lackluster and dull. My husband has had a 30 year career in the water park industry, so we weren’t looking for slides, inflatables, zip lines or pools, but the beach itself is just featureless. It’s no wonder RC is choosing to enhance it with a water park. Had it been open, we would still have chosen a beach clamshell rental only, but we did hear others complain about multiple delays on opening the new water park. (Note- park opening delays are standard). EMBARKATION/DEPARTURE I’m very sorry to say this was the best part of our “Enchanted” cruise. RC has embarkation down to precise science, and departure was organized and stress free. Unfortunately, this was the first, and hopefully ONLY time we were glad to de board! I wish we weren’t so negative, but we feel compelled to share our experience and perspective. Having sailed with RC many times, we’re certain others will have a much better cruise, and we’re sure our upcoming April cruise will be more similar to what we’ve experienced in the past. Maybe there are just times for some of us when things aren’t quite a match, or the experience just isn’t the same as before. Happy sailing! How sad to save our greatest compliments for embarking and departure. Read Less

We wanted to try RC after a few Carnival cruises since everyone raved how RC was sooo much better. HA! The worst cruise ever so far. We went just to go to Coco Cay and like many other times from what I have heard, it was canceled. The only entertainment all day was bongo and karaoke. The shows almost non-existent were 30 minutes long. The check in process was nice. The extra money we paid for a jr suite was a complete waste for sure. The room was the same as a standard on Carnival! The only difference was a bathtub vs shower only. The staff not as friendly, they barely mumbled a greeting. I watched as bar staff looked at empty glasses and just walked by. The food in the MDR was great. But most of the staff just blank, robotic. We will stay with Carnival and many other people we met said the same and were not happy. Even the "older" people. Read Less

I don't know if it's the same on all the smaller ships of Royal Caribbean, but the quality of everything is definitely not the same as on their larger ships. Food: the food was not that great at all, it seemed like everything that was served in the main dinning room (My Fair Lady) was overcooked and lacked in flavor (with the exception of the steak on the last night of the cruise). Even the food in the Chopped Grille was nothing to boast about. Entertainment: The entertainment in the Centorium was okay. The entertainment in the Orpheum was not so great with the exception of the of the entertainer that was there on Wednesday night. Excursions: the beach excursions were great, quite frankly they were the only saving grace of this whole trip! Airport Transfer: We had to buy our airport transfer the day we got to Orlando. Spent 15 minutes just trying to find the Royal Caribbean kiosk so we could purchase the tickets. Embarkation was smooth after that. Disembarkation was a disaster. When we bought our ticket for the return airport transport, we were told that we would be off the ship by 830 and at the airport by 10 am. Needless to say that didn't happen. We had a number 2 tag which meant our group would be called to disembark at 830 am, they didn't call our group until 9 a.m. By the time we got off of the ship and through customs it was 930. We ended up having to spend another $150 to change our flight because there was no way we would make it on time. So instead of getting back home early (3 pm) we spent most of the day at the airport and didn't get home until 9 pm. We definitely will not be sailing on this ship again. Read Less

We are driving back from our cruise as I write this. We took this cruise as a family and we’re so excited for family time, fishing, and so much more for our one week together. Let me start by saying the positives. 1. The dinners were fantastic and the service from Ajay and Minaj who were our servers were far above anything I have received even at the most expensive restaurants traveling. I can Not rate them high enough for service, knowledge, and making us all feel great and being the highlight of our cruise. 2. The water was beautiful. 3. Our cleaning lady Mona was superb and I cant say Enough about her. 3. Room and balcony were nice 4. Check in and out were quick and smooth. The disappointments 1. It was extremely hot and it seemed warm everywhere except the dining area. 2. We were the second seating for dinner and the entertainment most nights started before we could get there. 3. The pools were very small And PACKED 4. Our deep sea fishing excursion time was moved the night before without notice. No call just a ticket and notice stuck in the door. 5. We are escorted to meet the fishing boat..... no boat was there.... escort calls and captain seems surprised and asks how many people and is 20 min late arriving. We waited in the blazing sun. 6. We entered the boat and he spoke to us for literally 60 seconds before starting the boat up. The deck hand would not say more than one word answers or talk to us at all really. We trolled for approx 2:45 min and 3 or 5 of us never touched a fishing rod. I have Fished a lot in my life and never been on a fishing excursion that was this BAD. We felt like we were taken advantage of by Royal Caribbean and the boat we were on. I dont Expect to catch fish every trip but this was just not ok. We were back on the boat and at the service desk before 4 o’clock when we should have still been on a boat fishing. The bait fish were out of a bag (purchased) which should have been a sign and royal did refund us a small portion of our money but this is and expensive excursion and so NOT worth it. We also felt like the service desk just wanted us to go away. It took 2 trips and the 5 of us on the boat calming expressing we were not going to drop it and staying we would be back to get any discount. I cant Say enough negative about this excursion and the way it was handled 7. No speakers in room so announcements are very hard to hear 8. The staff at CoCo Kay for the water playground area were NOT friendly at all. The lady that took our money would barely look up. 9. Arcade had 4 games! That’s not an arcade 10. I am To tired to keep going but we will be on Carnival next time. Read Less

Flight delay (3h), booked with Royal Caribbean. Airport to Ship transfer did not show up (non refundable). Having paid for transfer, I had to pay additional for a Taxi, so I would not miss the ship. Made it just in time for the safety drill (1hour there). On top of that, bad weather (but that's not RCI fault). In order to hear the announcements, I needed to keep the door open, since the speaker was not working. The stateroom toilet had a 2-3 minute delay, and the non-smoking stateroom smelled like Benson & Hedges. I am supposed to be a Platinum Member with Royal Caribbean, and the only thing I got was additional raffle tickets. And I did enter my Crown and Anchor #. I think I will stop cruising for a while. The bar personnel was great, but I did not go there exclusively for drinking. This was a 4 day Bahamas cruise, and they changed our table 2 times, so I do not even know the names of our dinning room personnel. Read Less

We cruise with RC all the time so much so that we are almost at Diamond Status. So it kills me to say this but we had a terrible time on Enchantment of Seas. We stayed in room 3599. Unbeknownst to us this was directly below the Centrum. We heard EVERY party thru our ceiling every night ALL night. So got zero sleep. Our room did not have a fridge which we needed because husband has meds that need to stay cold. Drink machines were either flat or completly out. Quest services was very rude stating they didnt have time to deal with us and tp call 1800 number. Bathrooms werr old and falling apart, activites limited, staff was rude, room attendant told us we had to be out of room by 630am so he could clean for next cruisers and that we could wait on fifth floor. All 10 of our party sat on 5th floor for 3 hours before we were able to leave, guest services closed out BIL account but not my sisters so on last day they had to wait ANOTHER hour in line to close her seapass card. They are in same room and married..the attendant that was letting people off ship said oh well you should have paid your bill...which they did, the night before and in cash. While waiting outside I attempted to go back in and us restroom and was told that I could not amd that I would have to use restroom across the street! Seriously. This is at the miami port. I also want to note that the nightmare rooms we got were at full price and NOT discounted. Never again. Read Less

My travel agent booked it. We had never sailed on Royal Caribbean and want to see what it was like compared to our other experiences. Rooms were nice and the staff tried so hard to accommodate you but there wasn't enough of them to go around. Trying to get a beverage at pool was tough. My husband had to get up and get them or wait a long time before someone could get to you. Ordered breakfast in our stateroom for the first morning on the ship and it never came. We ordered for 8:00 am and by 9:00 I finally cancelled it. They tried to make it up by sending cupcakes, a bottle of red wine, and chocolate covered strawberries, nice gesture but I am a diabetic. Got sick on ship and wanted some Imodium which they wouldn't give to me without seeing the doctor and was told repeatedly there was no charge but on my final bill there was a $144.00 medical charge for 4 pills!! my comments are based on having taken over 30 cruises on multiple cruise lines over the last 40 years. windows terribly dirty throughout the ship and in our stateroom which affected your enjoyment. we paid extra for large cabin window and could not see out clearly. need to clean the windows or park the boat. could not hear announcements on ship so missed activities music and microphone in atrium way too loud effecting guest rooms near it. food was worst quaility i have experienced as to taste and selection. windjammer menu not changed enough dinner menu had expensive items that use to be free few good choices and the food presentation was weak chicken cordon bleu was frozen dry and little flavor. The seafood linguini had very little sauce, flavor, and seafood in it was rubber tasting. no choice of egg rolls or baked potato on menu which never experienced. Caesar salad made from ice berg lettuce which is not common. entertainment was weak. only 3 main singers who were given songs to sing that their voices were not capable of. no magician; acrobats, hypnotist, or really funny comedian. did enjoy the seating in main theater which was stationary individaul seats with good view and cup holders. ship began crusie from Pier F in Miami then returned at end of cruise to Pier farthest away from Pier F in other direction. had to walk a mile pulling our luggage to the garage we parked in. no communication from the ship about significant change in pier. Should have had staff there advising you of this as you walked off ship and provided complimentary buses as you exited to take you to distant garage. Read Less

Our first time cruising, last time with Royal Caribbean. i actually wanted to do 1 out of five but decided to do 2/5 just because of the hard working staff. Do yourself a favor, and don't waste your money on this cruise, you are better off spend your money on a nice resort. Here is why I gave them a poor rating: *The main reason that we booked this cruise is to go to Cocokay island. But the ship did not dock there for "safety" reasons. All we got is just apology, no compensations or partial refund. I guess they had the same problem docking at this island multiple times before on previous cruises yet they still put it on your itenary. ITS A SCAM and false advertising folks. * Rooms are extremly small, even though I paid extra for the "bigger Room", I still got a room that barely fit a bed and a night stand and it make you feel clusterphobic. *Bathrooms are extremly small and they are almost the size of an airplane bathrooms. the shower area could barely fit me and I am a skinny guy. The bathrooms smell like sweage. Discusting. *The entire second deck looks very dingy. *The food in the dining room is subpar, and it's bland to say the least. it taste like it has been prepared long time ago and just got reheated. *The pools are very small and overcrowded. however, the worse part is the pool water was freezing cold eventhough it was sunny and 85 degree every day. * The excursions are overpriced and crappy. they just want to charge you the maximum possible. * The Guest Service desk if always busy and you have to wait about half an hour to talk to someone. I guess that what happens when you have two attendants working on a ship of 3000 people. * I am not a gambler but they let people smoke in the Casino. So if you are a non-smoker and you want to gamble then you are out of luck. * The immigration process took for ever and it wasn't organised. * getting our sailing pass took forever because the line was stretch for a mile. * They add service charge on every bill even though we PRE-PAYED GRATUNITY on the total amount of the cruise charge. * Most of their onboard shows are boring and they talk bad about their competitors. The only good thing is that the staff are very nice and helpful but they are overworked. Read Less

It is one of the worst vacation that we took. The first time on a cruise ship and the last time with royal Caribbean. If you are reading this post, don’t waste your money. The only reason that I gave the 2/5 is because of the hard working staff onboard the ship. Here are some of what experienced onboard the ship: 1. Long waiting lines to get your sailing card 2. Very small rooms even though we thought we paid extra to get a bigger room. The room does barley fit the king size bed. 3. The bathrooms are extremely small. They resemble airplanes bathrooms. The shower are could barely fit me and I am a skinny person. The bathrooms smelled like sewage when we checked in. The couch is nasty. 4. The ship missed one of the Coco island one of destinations due to “rough seas”. The main reason we booked the trip just to go see the island. So we spent an extra day on water. They just gave us a small apology with no compensations whatsoever. 5. Rust everywhere. This ship needs a major remodeling or decommissioned. 6. The food in the dining room is subpar. It taste like it had been cooked days before and just got reheated. The lunch buffet was just ok. 7. The shows were ok, nothing special there. 8. The pool water was freezing cold. I don’t know how they managed to keep the water cold even though was 85 degree and sunny every day. 9. the whole second floor looked dingy 10. the excursions were overpriced and boring to say the least. On the flip side the wait staff in the dining room and the restaurant and the housekeeping are hard working people. Read Less

Let's start by saying that I am a seasoned cruiser and have been on many voyages with different cruise lines and on different continents. Chose this ship for the dates sailed and number of nights. Booked the cruise as a surprise for my husband's 50th birthday. Ordered room decorations, strawberries and champagne and a cake prior to departure. None was actually done. Disappointing! Very tired and unkept ship. Staterooms dingy, bathroom mirrors old and peeling, rust on the outside decks makes you wonder if the ship will fall apart. Strong odor in the hallways. The carpets in the stateroom dirty and damp. Water pools in the shower and does not drain. Toilets don't flush properly. Balcony doors between adjoining cabins don't open. Chairs and couches in staterooms stained and grimy. Beds are worn out. Everything on the ship is extra. Want decent coffee? $5, tips included with options to add more tips. Pictures? Pay twice if people in the pictures are in 2 separate rooms. Umbrella on the private beach? $25. Water bottles? $20 for 6 small bottles. Win the "grand prize" of $50 on shore? It's a discount coupon if you spend extra... Want a steak or shrimp for dinner? It's extra $ in the main dining room. The main course choices were so poor that I did not even bother with the main course. Luckily, our wait staff brought me a few extra appetizers... The staff is overall just ok, with the exception of our wait staff who were outstanding. The shows were nice, comedians, dancers and singers very talented and entertaining. Our last evening on board, we came to the room to find urine on the toilet seat, white goop all over the bathroom sink, hairs (yuck!) and a drill on top of clean towels. Gross!!! Reported to security. Cleaned the bathroom ourselves. Were offered a minor discount for a next cruise of we choose to sail within 12 months. In one word: Very disappointing. Read Less
