Exceeded our expectations from embarkation to debarkation. Crews are very friendly and helpful. You don’t get hungry as lots of yummy foods on board and lots of sporting activities you can do on board to ensure you don’t get extra kg while indulging with lots of good variety of foods. Medallion class made everything on board really easy. They have a very systematic system where everything really works very well. We have enjoyed all the activities on board, in particular, the shows daily. Our crew steward always ensure that our room is being looked after daily. Live TV updates is also very helpful for everyone as you will be informed on what’s happening on the ship, ports and shore excursions very important informations and tips. We will definitely cruise with Princess again and will recommend them to our friends and families. Keep up the good work and hope to see you again soon. Read Less

Everything...cruise Princess the best. The best service, entertainment, food, excursions etc. Been cruising with Princess for many years and it never disappoints us. We are Elite members and we love the extras that Princess gives us. Excellant Baltic Cruise. We love the Mediterranean cruise also. Also, their Carribean cruises are the best all around and love their private island and ports of call. Can’t say enough about their service and caring for their passengers. Very helpful when a problem arises. The new Medallion cruises are the best. Love the way the Medallion opens your cabin door for you. Also, the Medallion is great when boarding and disembarking the ship. The Regal Princess is a magnificent ship in every way. From its beauty to all that serves the ship. All the ports of call are beautiful and easy on and off the ship. The medical facility is good if you need medical attention. We found the front desk very helpful and the new Medallion Net is very fast. Gets you on line very fast. From Platinum member up they give you free minutes on the net. Elite members have the option to get their laundry washed free of charge. Which I find a big plus...just wonderful! The food is always good in the dining room. We always choose the traditional dining and love it because you get to meet people and get aquatic with them on the cruise. Instead of meeting someone different every night with anytime dining. The buffet on the Regal Princess is fabulous. Especially the bakery. The service in our stateroom is always exceptional. Also, the entertainment on all Princess ships is wonderful. The production shows are outstanding. The singers and dancers are so professional and give excellent shows. The Baltic cruise we just got home from the entertainment was one of the best. Read Less

We chose this cruise mainly because we've enjoyed all previous Princess cruises and we wanted to see new countries. We arranged our travel time so we could spend a day in Copenhagen before embarking on the cruise. With the medallion system embarkation went smoothly and we were on board within 20 min. of arriving at the ship. Our luggage arrived at our room very shortly after we did, which hasn't always been the case on previous cruises. Our oldest son travelled with us as he did last year and this made our trip even more enjoyable! This ship was the largest of any we've cruised on but everything ran smoothly. Our cabin steward made sure our room was always taken care of. As on any cruise, one of the highlights is the food. This was no exception. We dined at the second sitting and Dan Lee and Wilson took excellent care of us each evening. We also enjoyed lunch most days at Horizon and never failed to be amazed at the variety and quality of food. We enjoyed several of the musical shows at the Princess Theater, the talent of the singers and dancers was Broadway quality. Each one of the ports was so different and interesting. We took 4 port excursions and one shuttle bus trip. The tour guides were so knowledgeable and helpful. All in all, this cruise is probably the best of many we've enjoyed over the years. Truly an unforgettable experience! Read Less

St. Petersburg, Russia has been on our bucket list for years as has the Scandinavian Countries. We chose this cruise because it encompassed all of the countries we wanted to visit without having to pack and unpack, haul luggage on trains or to planes and it was our hotel, our meals and our entertainment neatly packaged!!! We were impressed with how Princess handled the 3500 passengers both embarking, disembarking and on board. The ship was booked solid but it did not feel like there was a crowd with the exception of certain meal times when the Horizon Court was packed. However, there was always an alternative and we ate many of our meals in the Dining Rooms where service, food and presentation was impeccable. Every area of the ship was immaculate and the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. This particular 11 day cruise included 6 ports which was hectic if you took shore excursions in each one, which we did. We valued the Sea Days for rest and relaxation! This was our first cruise in the 49 years we have traveled together and it will not be our last! Read Less

It was our 40th anniversary and we are both Scandinavian but had never been to Sweden or Norway and thought that would be appropriate. We loved our last Princess cruise so were happy to find the dates worked for us. We loved the ship--great food, entertainment, staff, didn't over push the jewelry or artwork. The itinerary was awesome, except 5 days in a row of ports was a bit long for my husband. But afterwards, we had another sea day which we enjoyed. We had a Cruise Critic Meet and Greet and I was amazed the captain, cruise director, and other main staff members showed up briefly at the beginning of it! Beatle Maniacs were great, among other shows put on by the staff, and special entertainers that joined for comedy and a ventriloquist. We felt at home when we got on the ship, and I wanted to cry when I had to leave. I loved the staff. Read Less

We LOVE Princess cruises and really enjoyed the 11 day Baltic cruise. Weather was perfect, ports were interesting, Medallion worked great for unlocking your stateroom door and getting on/off the ship. Embarkation with the Medallion takes about 5 minutes, very quick and easy. The ship is beautiful and has plenty to do all day long, at sea or in port, there is always something happening. The food was delightful and plentiful. The Horizon Court (buffet) was open from 5am to 11pm everyday. It does NOT close down like some cruise lines. In addition you could always get pizza or burgers on the open deck or a nice pizza/calzone from Alfredos inside. International Cafe has desserts, sandwiches and salads all day and night, so plenty of food. Many food choices all day and all of them good. There are also extra cost restaurants available, but we didn't use them. The room service was quick and accurate. We ordered coffee for each morning and it was within 5 minutes of the time requested each and every day. Wonderful! We met many friendly and kind staff members. Entertainment: Band for the older crowd was so so - but a lot of people thought they were terrific. Production shows were interesting. Positive things about our Baltic cruise: * Frequent and genuine smiles and greetings from most crew and staff. * Excellent staff at Piazza Bar, Vines, and Crooners * Excellent guides on our excursions * Excellent Cabin Steward * Multiple news choices on television * Excellent presenter for Destination Presentations - Chris Roberts * Great selection of movies in stateroom * Wonderful food everywhere. We went to Alfredo’s, Horizon Court, Horizon Bistro, International Cafe, and Concerto Dining Room. * Room Service was spot on and perfect. On time each morning - really wonderful to wake up to hot coffee! * Appreciate Cancelling the automatic gratuity. We tipped 8 individuals almost as much as the ship gratuities * fresh squeezed juice and wonderful lemonade * honest staff - we lost two items and we got them back promptly. We probably wont do this one again, but are already booked on two more Princess cruises and watch specials carefully. Read Less

Six of us decided on this cruise because of the itinerary and dates. We spent some time before cruise in Copenhagen which was a great start to our trip. Everyone we met in Copenhagen was friendly and helpful. We have been on other cruise ships but first time with Princess. We found embarkation to be fabulous because we were able to register in advance through the medallion system. While others stood in lines, we were whisked away quickly and felt very fortunate to begin immediately! Our luggage arrived immediately. Last voyage on Norwegian, my suitcase arrival was very delayed causing us some anxiety that something had happened (It finally arrived safely). Disembarkation was equally smooth. We booked airport transfer and left the ship very early. We were directed to a coach bus and our luggage was waiting for us when we arrived at the airport. We wondered if we would fine Princess a more premium experience. While I thoroughly enjoyed the ship I have enjoyed other ships as well. The decor is a bit more elegant and understated than some ships and less "carnival-esque". This never bothered us so not critically important. We had mixed responses to the medallion system. We found it useful to find cabin mates on the ship, and your door automatically unlocks as you approach your cabin, but other than that, didn't feel it offered anything we needed beyond the old card system. Some guests felt the continuous tracking was an invasion of privacy. The food was usually excellent in all dining areas of the ship. We had no problem finding something everyone enjoyed. If you were unhappy with anything, the staff are eager to make it right! One difference we found was many of the servers were highly professional and very skilled in their roles, what you'd encounter in a better restaurant offering fine dining at home. We booked anytime dining so had many different servers. Everyone was wonderful, but some were truly exceptional. My husband often enjoys the casual style and choice of the buffet. I find it noisy, crowded and cafeteria like and try to avoid this when I can. He enjoyed the quality and variety of the meals. The decor surprised me. I found the light green ceiling and 80's style of decor out of step with the rest of the ship. We appreciated being able to bring 2 bottles of wine on board. This has been discontinued on some cruise lines, so thank you Princess for maintaining this option. We also loved the coffee package and thought it offered great value! The coffee even met with approval from my discerning coffee lover husband! We tend to book our own port excursions so can't comment on those. Entertainment was mixed. Some acts were very good. We would be very happy to take another Princess cruise! Read Less

After a horrid experience on the Island Princess, leaving me inclined to seek other carriers, this Baltic cruise on the Regal restored confidence that Princess can indeed deliver a quality experience when they want to. I can only think that much of the positive experience that a passenger receives is the product of effective management by the ship's officers. In this case, I would be led to believe that it comes from the captain and works it's way down the proverbial food chain. I think we ran into the captain on more occasions on this cruise than we ever have in all of the other Princess cruises that we have taken combined. Even his name tag was unpretentious, it just had his first name, Tim, with Captain is smaller letters under his name. Very personable gentleman who obviously practices the management doctrine of "Management By Walking Around" Our cabin is pretty much what one expects on any Princess ship, with the exception of the 43" TVs that are in every stateroom. In the smaller staterooms, the size of the TV may actually be overwhelming. The meal service in the dining rooms was pretty much standard fare that is found on just about every Princess ship, and some of the menus seem pretty standardized throughout the Princess fleet. The Horizon Court buffet area was a pleasant surprise with the variety and quality of food that it offered. It was the very first time that we ever felt comfortable eating dinner in the buffet, the only shortcoming was having to go to several different stations in several aisles to put a meal together. Diversity is very much the name of the game with the buffet featuring a strong variety of foods of Indian and Chinese themes highlighting the influence of a new demographic of cruise passengers. The option of buffet dining was a godsend with some of the port calls like Russia and Germany having passengers returning to the ship relatively late for dinner. There were only 3 sea days on this 11 day cruise so there wasn't really that much time for activities on board the ship. Entertainment was also pretty standard with 4 production shows and then some single performer shows. The notable improvement was the design of the Princess Theater. While there is not labeling, there are areas on the 6th floor level that are clearly intended to accommodate those passengers with mobility devices rather than forcing anyone with a wheelchair or scooter to sit at the back of the theater at the 7th floor level. The 6th floor seating area is also wheelchair accessible, The Royal class of ships is obviously being more attentive to a more affluent Baby Boomer generation that is also an aging generation. Now it would be great if they would increase the availability of ADA accessible rooms so that individuals who require such rooms would not have to book over a year in advance and then have to re-fare several times to get the same pricing as able-bodied passengers (I'm sure some are not aware that their passage can be re-fared and end up paying much more than they need to for their journeys.) The service in the dining rooms was often slow but not inattentive (or outright discourteous) as we have experienced on other Princess ships. For some reason neither the dining rooms nor the buffet seemed terribly busy, nor was the attendance at most of the Princess Theater shows. Needless to say, it didn't seem consistent with the move-over offerings that were posted to this site prior to sailing. Overall, most of the crew cheerful and attentive. The only weak point was the credibility of the Guest Services desk, though even that was not unbearable on this cruise. Room stewards were constantly attentive and they seemed to be in the hallways much of the time refreshing cabins. We try to avoid Princess contracted excursions whenever we can, as they are generally not a good value and often lack the quality of local providers, even though they may be the same companies contracted for the Princess excursions. We especially dislike the fear mongering that Princess employs about not being left behind if you book a Princess excursion. Since many of the reputable service providers also lead the Princess excursions, we feel confident that they most likely know what they are doing. The more non-Princess reputable excursion operators offer a guarantee to fly or otherwise transport anyone to the next port call if one of their clients miss the sailing as a result of a delay in returning a passenger to the ship (a guarantee that many brag about never having had to make good on.) We also find that the excursions booked directly with local operators is generally more informative. That being said, we did book two excursions because we had some non-refundable credit funds that had to be used. Read Less

Great food and very homely and helpful staffs. We had a deluxe balcony room which was cosy and modern . We had the medallion class ship which made great digital experience, with fast wifi at sea. It also helped in smooth embarkation and disembarkation. Their transportation from each ports were great help. There are a variety of dining options all with delicious foods. Also they had different themes and cusines each day which made for getting to know others. There were production shows and also enjoyed the russian floklore show. We chose to sail for the Baltic cruise with Princess after trying other cruise lines for other cruises. Nothing beat Princess in term of services, itineraries, and values. We're group of 11 people (yes, odd numbers) and the dining room able to accomodate all of us in one table which make the dining experiences more enjoyable. Great menu on traditional Dining room (good options considering we have different people with different preferences). Get the wine packages when you board the ship (great values). Regal Princess is a great ship especially since it becomes the medallion class (very convenience tool and now we can locate the rest of our group at any given time on the ship). We love all the countries listed in the itineraries although we feel that the stop at Oslo is too short. The weather were perfect during our visits. Our kids love the destination cruise like this one because they get to visit different countries everyday without having to pack and unpack daily). Overall experience, we had an amazing time sailing with Princess. Can't wait to do another cruise with Princess again. Read Less

We chose Princess because we had friends who suggested them. Princess exceeded our expectations. No problems with embarkation or disembarkation. The cabin, a deluxe balcony room, had all the space and amenities we needed, it was easy to manage getting around the ship and the entertainment was very good with a very good house band, Evolution, playing different music styles. Danced many nights and especially enjoyed Rock Night-great! Food was good to excellent in open seating dinning room where we ate every night. Never had a bad meal. The buffet, which we only used for breakfast and lunch when on ship, was huge and good. Really like eggs/omelets made to order every morning on buffet. The shows were great with a huge theatre so never a problem getting a seat. Booked all shore excursions with Princess. Just wanted to keep it easy and price was reasonable to third parties. Booked the small group tours in Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg and Oslo. Just went on our own in Tallinn and Warnemunde. All equal or better guides then we have had with European tours in the past. Really pleased we did it this way and the groups were always less number of people than allowed. Service on the ship was excellent!! Room always very clean and Princess people just very hard working and nice. My wife and I have been to Europe 8 times in the last 13 years and recently retired. We use the internet very little and no cell phone when we travel but internet and TV sometimes do not work well in the Baltic Sea or places like Russia. I always felt it was foolish to work on European vacations anyway so never did in any of my previous trips. We will cruise again and Princess will be the company we will use. It was a great experience and look forward to more. Read Less

We had a mini suite on the Lido deck, as we like the little rocking at night, but atlas the seas were so smooth, there was no rocking. The Regal uses the Medallion. Embarkation took under 5 minutes and your cabin door opens as you move towards it. We didn’t have any issues with the medallion and can’t wait till all the ships use this technology. We had early dining which worked at fine for us. The food was fine, and they even made me some dishes to eat, when the menu didn’t have anything on it I could eat. Our servers were so fantastic it was such a pleasure to go to dinner. We did tours from Princess, except in Tallinn where we did the town on our own. We did Nynäshamn and the Rui stones. In Helsinki we went to the Rock church which is stunning. Beautiful town to walk around in. We were in St. Petersburg for 2 days. We found the city sad and depressing. It was cold and we were warned about the pickpockets who were all over. The architecture is beautiful and the Hermitage is definitely worth a visit. I just wish we could have spent more time there. Tallinn is a medieval town that was quaint and stunning. We so enjoyed walking around, talking to the locals, and had lunch at the Cinnamon Restaurant which was very good. There is a HOHO bus which we used to get all over Tallinn. Oslo, Norway is stunning. The Viking museum was very crowded and due to the short time we were in Oslo, we only got to see 1 ship. We went to Rostock in Germany which was very enjoyable. So glad we did this cruise. Read Less

We did the Mediterranean on this ship a few years ago and we enjoyed returning to this beautiful ship. The food on Princess in my opinion is a cut above many other lines but I did notice a slight change in quality on the many beef dishes. Still very good though. The medallion program is very convenient, however, there seems to still be some bugs to be worked out on the Ocean compass and now apps. Harder than necessary to connect and sign in. When working though they are a nice add. Entertainment was above average for the most part. The ports of call on this cruise were Warnemunde Germany, Oslo Norway, Copenhagen Denmark, Stockholm Sweden, Helsinki Finland, St Petersburg Russia, (2 days), and Tallinn Estonia. Beware of the pick pocket problem in all of these ports. The tour guides repeatedly warn of them and there are signs in tourist attractions also warning. We had a elderly lady have her purse with passports and cash stolen at a cafe in Stockholm. There are only 3 sea days on the itinerary so by the end you will have to catch up on some sleep. Read Less

One can only get an overview on these sorts of deals, but I felt that all our guides in the cities we went to were very knowledgeable and helped us understand something of the people and the things we were seeing. The ship is large, but never felt crowded. We sailed with my energetic ten year old granddaughter. She wanted to swim every day and had never been to a buffet before! She did not want to participate in any of the youth programs on the ship. Food on the cruise was uniformly excellent. Wee had anytime Club dining as Suite passengers and the food, service etc was excellent. We ate lunch either onshore or the buffet. This was our first Baltic cruise. Princess cruise lines did an excellent job. Embarkation was a breeze. The Medallion service still has start up problems as many employees are not up to speed, but it has worthwhile features. They only updated one account with the Beverage package and the waiter had to get the other one added. The Medallion really does not do too much more than the cruise card did and it allows them to track you. The ship is beautiful, but with the number of passengers the elevators were always packed. They can't add more elevators, but maybe they can make them run more frequently or more efficiently. We had a mini-suite on the Riviera deck. It was very quiet, very well laid out with sufficient storage. Our steward, Jeff, tirelessly maintained our cabin and did a superior job. We had Club Class dining which was very nice for the special attention, but did not get to meet as many other passengers. The food although tasty and well-prepared, was not exceptional. The entertainment was outstanding. The Russian Folk dance performers were great. The Regal Princess Singers and Dancers were talented. The Princess band has some of the best musicians we have seen. The entertainment in the Piazza and the Wheelhouse lounge always is amazing and relaxing at the end of the day. The band We Are Evolution can really get the ship rockin'. Getting to listen to and to meet Lou Gazzara and Peter Cutler was an unexpected pleasure. Princess shore excursions cost more than the local tours as every Cruise Critic member knows. We did not need 2 days in St. Petersburg. We only had a few hours in Oslo. Estonia and Stockholm were our favorite ports. Princess cancelled our Stockholm excursion at the last minute due to the Royal Palace closing and did not offer even a free shuttle into town. The Front Desk did not seem to care. They also did not provide our Disembarkation information on the last night. For that and other mishandled problems, Guest Services was our biggest disappointment on the trip. We will sail Princess again because overall they do everything well. Read Less

We did this cruise because we'd never been in the Baltic before. We've sailed with Princess before with mixed results and this trip was par for the course. The destinations were excellent. (St. Petersburg was the surprise disappointment, Talinn and Warnemünde was outstanding!) Embarkation and disembarkation in Copenhagen was really easy. Actually, with the medallion, getting on and off at all the ports was easier than we expected. One of the problems we had was room size. There were four of us, and once the upper bunks were lowered at night, moving around the room was awkward and difficult. Also, because there were four of us, we couldn't push the bottom beds together. I'm pretty tall and my wife is pretty short and with a double bed it works out. This trip my feet were dangling off the end and the mattress was just wide enough for my shoulders. Ugh. We took advantage of the Elemis Spa Enclave, a room that has a large soaking pool, some steam rooms and heated seats. We went there almost every day and felt that it was worth every penny. We were pleased that we had the place mostly to ourselves for the duration of the trip. We had a lot of fun. We like exploring on our own, so we didn't do any of the Princess Excursions but we did make arrangements for an SPB tour on our own for St. Petersburg because the only way to see Russia without a visa is through a tour. The food was pretty standard, both in the main dining room and the buffet. Not amazing, but not terrible, and even on an eleven day cruise, they kept the menus varied enough so we didn't feel like we were eating the same stuff over and over. One complaint was the soup; the thick soups (jambalaya, albondigas, etc.) tasted like they used the same base and just swapped ingredients, while the clear soups (miso, chicken noodle, etc.) were really, really salty. And that's all I've got. I'd recommend it. Read Less

We are a young-ish couple who mainly do independent travel so this was only our second cruise but we loved it. I travel a lot but have never been to many of the countries we docked in so this was exciting and all were really interesting. I also work a lot so wanted a little bit of rest and comfort. This was definitely a comfortable, elegant ship, but I would say the itinerary is a little hectic, wish there were more sea days in between. I didn't do too many activities on sea days just opted to rest. But Balloon drop night and champagne waterfall night were very nice. The nightly band in the main ship Atrium with a Filipina singer, I think their name was Evolution, was VERY, very good and they worked really hard - played for hours all night long. Ship of almost 4000 though never felt crowded - skews on older side, I would guess a third Americans or Canadians, a third Europeans/Latin/Russian, and a third Asian (primarily Chinese and Japanese). Running down some other ship notes and some pros and cons: I thought the rest of the entertainment were really fun - esp the Broadway quality shows. Good selection of new movies on the TV. Also able to watch port/enrichment lectures and some of the audience participation shows from your cabin TV. The low key Outrigger bar with made-to-order fresh juices (extra cost) was great as was their bar staff and the patrons there. Fitness center was spacious, but I always got lost trying to find the right way to get there. Liked laundry on every floor and free zumba morning class. I wish they gave you a complete list and full information on ALL the dining options and what any costs were, but I feel like I had to ask and do all the research myself. Anyway, we mainly ate in the dining rooms - sometimes at assigned table, sometimes at "any time dining" table, and I found the food fantastic. We always tried to ask for a table by the window. Tried one specialty restaurant - Sabatini's - which exceeded expectations. Filling, delicious courses. A first class dining experience! We also tried the casual Alfredo's (included) for a made-to-order, fresh pizza one time - so good. We sampled the buffet a few times and they often had large variety and also lots of international dishes. My partner had specialty coffee at the 24 hour International Cafe every day. Room service was SO lovely! Wish they would expand more of the menu options. Usually at least once on the cruise they will have a fish and chips pub lunch (included) -that was good to change it up a bit - and a Crab Shack (extra cost, but we didn't try it) and an afternoon tea service with sandwiches and scones, etc (didn't try but looked nice). Cons: The new Ocean medallion technology was convenient (opening cabin door automatically, getting on/off ship) but the apps were a pain to log in and didn't work all the time. I also figure they are tracking our movements all the time with the medallion but what can you do. Would have done the spa but they stopped essentially offering day passes. Service in general was typical - some were really exceptional, some were just ok. Couldn't utilize much of the outdoor deck spaces/outdoor movies, etc because weather in Baltic really unpredictable and chilly. Would probably opt for June/July if I could do it over. But for me, the highlight was really getting to visit the various cities and I truly enjoyed them all - there was rain in the forecast constantly but in the end, it didn't really come to fruition, Tallinn was the only one that had some rain. Copenhagen it threatened to rain the whole time but it didn't, although that meant we didn't do a bike tour around but did the HOHO bus which worked out perfectly. Most people boarded and left the ship in Copenhagen, but we embarked/disembarked in St. Petersburg (we have visas) so we didn't really have a "welcome" per se and no real lines, but it was interesting to see a new, totally different crowd on the ship. You could also embark in Germany or Oslo I think. I didn't really end up using the cruise excursions - we booked an independent excursion in Warnemunde. Again, all ports were great. I would advise bringing/reading Rick Steve's guide book on these ports - it has maps too, etc. And always write down the name of the port you are docked in if you end up taking an uber, taxi or public transportation back - there can be several diff ports in some of the cities. Another good read on a trip like this - with a mix of humor, culture, and history - is The Almost Nearly Perfect People: Behind the Myth of the Scandinavian Utopia by Michael Booth. Highlights in each port: Tallinn (12pm free walking tour Old Town, Nevsky cathedral, viewpoints in Old Town, try Old Hansa almonds and freshly squeezed pomegranate juice from the carts, Telleskivi aka Creative City - esp F Hoone restaurant). Warnemunde (Friends of Dave tour with their fun and friendly guide, brewery lunch, seeing the charming towns in Rostock/Wismar, beer near sand castle in Warnemunde, and the breathtaking beauty of Schwerin castle garden - I felt like I was in a fairy tale - totally unexpected surprise for me). Oslo (port time there was short so we didn't have time for the viking museums - but Vigeland Sculpture Park a must, Opera house both outside and inside, stroll down Karl Johan gate, pic in front of Nobel Museum and fish lunch by the harbor before walking right to the ship. And the sail away - don't miss it! View from Regal Princess sailing in or out of Oslo and the tiny "fjords" - spectacular!). Copenhagen (Christianhavn is nice place to walk around and different than the "main" island, the Freetown Christiania is a VERY interesting community and a bit of a walk but for me was worth it to see - others may opt for Tivoli Gardens instead. Nyhavn a must of course and then catch Little Mermaid on way back to ship. Didn't have time but the glimpses of the gardens and some of the palaces looked really lovely.) Nynashamn (Stockholm is an hour away so maybe an excursion is worth looking into but we took the train - ship provided a shuttle to the station which is 5 mins away for about $5. Get a map and the day card - can be used for the train, the tram, the ferries, etc. This was one of my favorite ports - Gamla Stan a must. Vasa museum. Some like the Abba museum - although we didn't go. Lunch at Gondolen was interesting. Enjoy a fika break. Walk around City Hall - where the Nobel Prize banquet is held every year). Helsinki (easily walkable city, Market Square - beware the seagulls!, Cathedrals, try moose and reindeer, Lappi restaurant opens at 4pm very unique place, Rock Church a must, Loyly sauna is fairly close to ship - don't have to sauna but can still enjoy the views, wine, terrace and relax). St. Petersburg of course is amazing but since we spent several days there, would be too long to talk about here, and can't speak to the excursions. Anyway, as you can see I had a great time on this cruise and personally would recommend it to others Read Less

We wanted to experience Europe. Princess Cruise line was our first choice for gaining that experience. We took advantage of the cruise line excursions in all but 2 of the ports and got to learn about the history and culture of each location. The tour guides were friendly and very knowledgeable about all aspects of their areas. The Regal Princess, though our largest cruise ship to date, was still warm and friendly. All of our onboard dining and entertainment choices were fabulous. The staff and crew were very accommodating and made every return to the ship like “coming Home”. Our fellow cruisers were a diverse lot and generally very satisfied with their experiences on this cruise. We would highly recommend the 11 day Baltic experience to anyone looking to get a taste of this beautiful and historic portion of Europe. Of course, we would highly recommend Princess Cruise Line as the way to experience the Baltic. Read Less

Best value for eleven days and visiting five countries with good food onboard. The ship is very well maintained and the rooms are clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Entertainment is top class and of a variety. Days at sea have a lot of program to participate for everyone. Shopping and art auction is onboard. Medallion (an electronic device) is use, instead of the old card system. The phone apps are buggy but works most of the time. Tours are of a wide choice, having English speaking guides and modern coaches to travel. Most ports have very little problem getting on and off. St. Petersburg have a little time to process thru immigration on the first day and a breeze on the second day. Most of the cities visited are near to port or the major ones are a few hours away by train. There are enough time to visit the cities. Internet is very, very slow onboard. Even the paid network is not good for email or streaming. The internet is the only negative item that needs major improvment. Princess stated that they are the fastest internet on the sea. This ship is definite the slowest internet anywhere. Read Less

We are a retired couple, who wanted to try cruising for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. We are not interested in too much formality and didn’t want to be overly organised. We found that we could pick and choose what suited us. That said we found everything was very well organised. The crew were welcoming and friendly but not intrusive. We had a mini-suite M423, which was well equipped with a large sofa, comfortable bed and pillows, two TV’s, fridge, bath/shower with good hot water and a balcony. The cost of the 11 night cruise was a little over $6000AU for two - excellent value for money. The Medallion facility was great and made it very easy to pay for extras and log in and out. We also thought that extras, like drinks and beverages, were reasonably priced. The port visits were just right for us and gave us a good taste of the major Baltic cities. Overall, we highly recommended this cruise and this ship. Read Less

I am Elite with Princess. My husband and I wanted to experience a Baltic Cruise, with Saint-Petersburg being a specific place of interest. We loved this cruise. The ports were varied and we visited Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Russia, Germany and Norway. We also got to see a little bit of Denmark because of our pre- and post-cruise Princess transfers. Cabin: Our cabin (Emerald 417) was considered to be an obstructed balcony. It wasn’t really a problem because the obstruction was just that the Promenade Deck below was visible. You could see the ports and sea without a problem. Activities: The activities during the day were plentiful and interesting. There were scavenger hunts, an escape room challenge, crafts, dance classes, trivia, singing competitions, etc. I brought 2 books, but didn’t read either of them because there was a lot to do. A good thing. Entertainment: The production show “Fiera” was spectacular. The comedian, Doug Funk, was not funny. The passengers who participated in his show were more talented than him. My husband saw the ventriloquist for a few minutes and then walked out. He said that he was awful. The musicians on the ship were good. The game shows at night were a lot of fun. Dining: The food was average. I am not a fan of the food on Princess, but continue to sail with them because everything else is superior. Embarkation/Disembarkation: Well-done for both. Quick and efficient. Shore Excursions: We did the hop-on/hop-off bus in Stockholm, Sweden. I do not recommend this. The only good thing about it was that it was an efficient way to get into Stockholm from the pier (about an hour’s drive). Once in Stockholm, it became chaotic. There were not enough buses to accommodate all the guests and we didn’t see all the sights we hoped to see because it was so disorganized. We did 3 Princess excursions in Saint-Petersburg and they were all excellent, albeit quite pricey. The ballet (Swan Lake) was wonderful, as was the visit to the Hermitage Museum and the canal cruise on the Neva River. In Berlin, we did the Princess Excursion that allowed us to see the highlights and then gave us time on our own. The trip from the port of Warnemünde to Berlin was about 3 hours each way, but well worth it. You are also given coffee and a delicious cookie on the outbound train ride and a sandwich and some snacks on the ride back to Warnemünde. In Estonia, Finland and Norway, we walked around and visited some tourist sights on our own. I highly recommend using the tram in Norway. It isn’t expensive and it’s very good. We did the “Ultimate Ship Tour” on Regal Princess and loved it. We visited the engine control room, the laundry area, the bridge, the galley, the theatre, the medical center, etc. We spoke to various heads of department and got tons of information. The tour was $150 USD per person, but well worth it. We got pictures, a Princess bathrobe, a chef’s apron and personalized stationery. Make sure that you sign up just after you board the ship. Crew: All crew on Princess were wonderful. They hire the nicest people. We especially liked Captain Tim Stringer and Oskar, Oz and Jayson of the entertainment department. Ship: Regal Princess is stunning, both inside and out. It looks brand new. Also, it rarely feels crowded despite the fact that there are tons of people onboard. Read Less

The chance to see cities such as St Petersburg, Berlin and Oslo was a draw card. We had several days in Copenhagen before departure and this is worth it. Very smooth process for embarking the ship- good service and quick luggage delivery. The food was available very quickly and without a ripple the ship departs port. Interior room is spacious and the bedding is lux. Amazing pillows. Service on the ship is excellent- friendly and genuine. Food is always good- variety and options. Cabins, halls and all areas were spotlessly clean and polished. Lovely travel photos along the hallways. Take your swimmers for a hot spa on deck after a day of tours. Some of the best shore excursions- Hermitage and Palaces, train to Berlin, Tallin by hop on bus. Good service when cancelling one day trip. Honest service when returning my lost item. Smoothest sea the whole trip-not a ripple. Can not recommend the ship and the cruise destination enough. We had the Lido deck 16 which was so handy to all areas. Love Princess Cruises Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary as well as the cruise line. As always, we were not disappointed. The ports were excellent with various excursions. There were many more things to do if we only had more time in port. We had never been to Europe before, so this was all very exciting and new for us. The ship, Regal Princess, was absolutely stunning as it always is. We have cruised on this ship twice before so we knew what to expect when booking this ship. Personnel were very nice and helpful. You only had to ask and things were done for you. Our cabin, which was a mini-suite on Aloha deck 12, was very nice and comfortable and our cabin steward, Fernando, kept it looking very nice all the time. We had Anytime Dining in the Symphony Dining Room most evenings and the food was delicious. One evening we went to the Crown Grill and that was very delicious as well. Service in both restaurants were top notch even though they were very busy. We began and ended our cruise in Copenhagen. Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to explore this city, however, the next time we are there we definitely will!! We want to go back on this cruise and explore the ports more. It was a fabulous cruise and, as always, Princess Cruises are the best!! They are definitely our favorite cruise line and we will be back!! Read Less
