I chose this cruise for the specific period of time I had available and the port it departed from. It started off great. The embarkment went very smoothly. When I got to my cabin it was clean and ready for my husband and me. Our cabin porter, Tom, was wonderful. Any requests we had he took care of in a timely manner. There was plenty of closet space for clothes, shoes and so on. There also were lots of drawers and a very nice writing area. The bathroom was well designed with good lighting and shelves. However, there was no shampoo or conditioner, and a very small soap that was not replaced until it was a tiny blob. TheThe entertainment was the very best I have experienced! The productions were out of this world, as good as the Vegas shows I have seen. We did not go on any excurisons but there was plenty to do on the ship, or just relax as we did. The ship was very nice, but was hard to find a nice quiet place to read. My major complaint were the meals for dinner. I cook at home and I was looking forward to great food and good service. The dinners started with a menu the looked like it was printed on the cheapest paper available. Although they offered a meat, fish, vegertarian and so on, there was usually only one choice of each, and not necessarly what one might want or like. I really wish that they would teach the servers not to reach across someone to serve another seated guest. If a nice dinner and service is important to someone as it was to me I would not necessarly recommend this cruise to a friend. Read Less

Great ship even better with the Medallion now. Boarded in 10 minutes, internet very fast, staff found me to deliver drinks, could chat and locate our friends, amazing addition. The buffet was plentiful with so many selections, dinner always good and gelato was great. I recommend the Oceans Terrace bar Sushi or Lobster over egg salad as a light lunch. Was superb for a nominal fee. Staff very cordial, service excellent and willing to please. We had a small stomach virus outbreak, the staff cleaned and sanitized right away. Took precautions and kept under control. Worked so hard and the captain kept us informed with constant updates, never hid anything from the passengers. Overall a very hard working, happy crew, willing to go the extra mile. Movies under the stars were great, next day were available on demand. The television system was nice, you could find your own shows, watch when you wanted. A great experience and the bartenders put on an amazing show called the Flair Show showing their juggling and drink making talents! Giving away over 50 free drinks poolside, what fun! Amazing cruise! Princess is great. This was our 4th and we have the next one planned. Great way to celebrate and relax. The entertainment and wait staff was amazing. Cannot wait until our next one. Our room was clean and the turndown service was great. There were chocolates on the pillows every night. The cabin had an ample amount of drawers and 2 big screen TV’s We got clean towels several times during the day .My husband uses a medical device and an extension cord was provided for him right away. The food and the wait staff was outstanding. The choice of food venues is amazing. From casual to formal dining. The fresh pizza is outstanding and the wine selection is wide and delicious. Do not hesitate to take a Princess Cruise. We were on the “love boat” and it was great fun when the captain played the theme port. This was truly a memorable vacation. Read Less

We enjoyed the water show and the outdoor movies at night. We LOVED the singers and dancers/production shows, and the Beatlemaniacs as well. The comedian was great. The food was beautifully presented and well flavored. Our waiters were very good - elegant, knowledgeable, attentive, kind. Our cabin was very well cared for. The weather was excellent, and we loved Princess Cay and St. Thomas. St. Maarten's traffic was bad, probably due to repairs being made from the hurricanes last year, so getting around took a long time. I would recommend going one place (a nice beach) and staying there, rather than trying to see much around the island. Maho beach was fun because the airplanes fly directly over the beach, and the water was great there. Orient Beach looked fun, but we didn't swim there. We will definitely cruise on Princess again. The Regal is a Beautiful Ship, great places to get out of the sun and relax. We have been cruising for 15 years. Until now we have only cruised with Carnival. We have found a new love for cruising with Princess, and we will not go back to Carnival. This is our second cruise with Princess. the Regal Princess is elegant and sophisticated, tablecloths in main dining room EVERY night! Princess is what Carnival used to be when we first started cruising. Princess has fun activities and parties but they are not wild drunken events you will find on a Carnival ship. Nothing against Carnival but our wild party days are gone, now we just want to relax and have fun without all the excessive drunk people, unattended children running in the hallways and loud music everywhere you turn. We have already booked our next cruise with Princess, 15 days to Hawaii. Read Less

(Just cruised eastern half) Planned this cruise to celebrate my husband's retirement. Thought it would be a spectacular start. This was our fourth cruise, fourth cruise line. Never had a complaint before. Can't believe how horrible this was. The good: Embarkation was incredibly smooth. Went early to escape the crowds waiting at the hotel. Figured we'd rather wait in a long line at terminal and were surprised to walk right on ship shortly after 11am. Our room steward was the perfect mix. Had everything in order without being intrusive. The other good is the medallion system. Once you figure it out it's awesome. All their training seems to have gone into this. Need to work on service now. Had anytime dining. No table for two first night so sat with others which we enjoyed. Surprised to see many men in shorts. Next night (not formal) my husband decided to wear dress shorts and button down shirt. We accidentally ended up walking near the set time dining room. The host dressed in a white suit came rushing at my husband demanding to know if we intended to eat there. I said no, we were looking for the anytime. He made a spectacle of us and announced loudly that he wouldn't be allowed to eat there either dressed like that. Everyone in line staring gaped mouth at this. Three days into retirement and an arrogant ignoramus is yelling at him. He changed to dress pants and we rode the elevator down with a couple men heading to dinner in their dress shorts. I did let them know my husband had just been yelled at for this. And laughed and tried to let it go. Not being a meat eater the dinners were quite disappointing. I don't know how they turn fish into a dry leathery substance...even the everyday favorite salmon is incredibly dry. The trout was spectacular one night, probably because I asked if it could be made without the seafood stuffing so they made me a special one, which I greatly appreciated. I had read the complaints about how lengthy dinner service was. We enjoy leisurely dinners so I thought that was overblown. The time it took between each course was ridiculous. Complaints are spot on. Probably why there is never enough seating as well. Booked the enclave for the week because I have back issues and the heated stone loungers are a godsend. Usually. They have many of them. None work as they should...lukewarm at best so no point. Asked at desk if she could up the temperature. Said she would. Never happened. I improvised and laid down on a double seat in a heated room to get the heat in my back. This worked well for a couple days. They lost their heat as well. A couple days in...no heat. The voice of the ocean finale they handed out remotes to vote for your favorite. Had to trade it for your medallion. The way out of the princess theater was a nightmare...I had come out the far door from desk. People all around getting their medallions back. Mine had a novel attachment unlike any other so I put the remote down and picked mine up. Unable to name here (the girl at desk) literally screamed at me "don't touch them!!" She took it back then looked at the remote for the number and yes, it was mine so gave it back to me. I just walked away in shock...having not been yelled at since I was twelve. Then went back to get her name so I could complain to passenger services, who basically said "well you should have waited in line so it's your fault but yeah I'll let them know". I understand they put this single crew member in a terrible situation with everyone exiting the theater at the same time coming from different doors. But no passenger should be screamed at. A polite " I'm sorry no one can handle these but me" would suffice. Totally unacceptable behavior from her and passenger services who should have just apologized for the behavior. Need to come up with a more fluid system with the remotes so crew unequipped for handling pressure don't crumble. Pub lunch at wheelhouse was the best fish on the boat. In the ship fact sheet it states lunch is offered daily. It was offered once. The last full day so a ridiculous long wait to get in. The same host, who yelled at my husband previously, seating everyone with lots of attitude. I don't think princess understands they are in the service industry. So severely lacking. The cruise started with my husband being yelled and and ended with me being yelled at. As if that wasn't enough, the final insult...we purchased the transfer to airport. Went to the dining room assigned for disembarkation, asked if there was paper I needed for transfer. He said no, just follow the group. It will be clear. Was easy getting out of terminal. Followed to blue sign saying princess transfers to right with rep also saying transfers to the right....which everyone was led to a lineup of taxis taking our bags and putting them in cars. (No princess rep in between) Drove to airport and then driver demanded payment. I needed a voucher for transfer which princess never gave us. Are you kidding me?? Ended up paying him. What else was there to do. Finally made it home and all I want to do is cry. Thankful that we at least met some lovely passengers along the way. Read Less

We chose this cruise specifically to cruise Princess Cruise Lines. This particular voyage was to their private island, St. Thomas and St. Marteen. There were not many children on board and the ship caters to a mature crowd. My husband and I enjoyed the huge screen on top as we watched movies and concerts. The ship is beautiful. The food was wonderful and the entertainment spectacular. We did anytime dining and never waited for more than 15 minutes. We also ate in Crown Grill one night and that meal was wonderful. The entire medallion experience was delightful. Not having to unlock cabin doors and bartenders recognizing you when you approach is very nice. Embarkation was a snap. I have never been on a ship by 1:30 pm. We were able to have a nice lunch and change to go up top for the sail away party. Disembarkation was very smooth as well. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing escape with your spouse or partner -- this cruise is for you! There are so many activities that you will never get bored. This is not a party ship -- and I was very pleased that it wasn't! Read Less

My hubby & I take Princess Cruises every time we cruise. We go in early Spring every year. I have 7 under my belt now & my hubby has 9. We stayed in Fort Lauderdale over night and were on the Regal Princess Ship by 11:15am on Sunday! That was terrific, we had lunch on the pool deck and went to the cabin at 1pm. Embarkation was smooth sailing, the sail way party was fun and the day was perfect! The 1st port of Call was Princess Cays (the cruise lines private island) we have been to Princess Cays 6 times before, so we just stayed on the ship and had a relaxing spa day. The next day was a Sea Day-we relaxed again w/a few activities on board. Regal Princess is a great ship, but it is not full of water slides or rock walls or diving shows, so some may find the ship a bit boring. We find it just right--for families and w/teens the activity level can be lack luster. That being said many parents just let their kids roam around the ship, ages 11-16 total disgrace. Princess has movies under the stars on the pool deck, in the evenings they show more adult themed movies. One night we went to the movies under the stars (the movie was great by the way!) the teen boys yelled and hooted and disturbed everyone all thru the movies. Several guest went and told them to chill out and keep the screaming down. Well that did nothing, it made it worse. Many fellow passengers (myself included) wondered where in the world the parents are? So you don't parent on vacation? Seems strange to me, and your kids are now everyone else's problem. It was ridiculous! The last night of the cruise one the teen boys came up to me and said do you like my shirt? He had written curse words all over it--and proceeded to yell profanities at myself and other passengers. Again, where are the parents of these kids?? Princess did nothing to stop these kids, I informed them several times as did other passengers. It seems that when you go on vacation these lazy parents just don't care--Princess and fellow guests have to deal with these unruly brats! The cruise itself was terrific, the productions shows are top-notch and the Beatlemaniacs are the best-they are real show stoppers, and totally fun!! The cabin was small, but adequate for just the 2 of us. Again this is not a mega ship--it is not a RC super ship, Regal Princess had 3560 passengers this cruise and that was enough, especially w/unsupervised teenagers running around all day & night. This cruise was a 2 week combo, but we only did the 1st week (last year we did the 2nd part of this cruise) Were told that only 291 guests stayed on for the 2nd week of the cruise, w/others getting on as we got off. St. Thomas had lovely weather, we went to Megans Bay. It was overcrowded w/6 ships in port that day. I can see if only 2-3 ships in port, Megans Bay would have been great. We shopped & had lunch near the cruise port. Both were excellent! St. Maarten we did the Sky Explorer at the Rainforest Adventure & Rockland Estate. It was gorgeous, you took a Sky lift up the side of St. Maarten (this is not for the faint of heart) and could see the entire island! Beautiful! Well worth the price. After 2.5 hours at the Estate we went to the beach and board walk. Had the best burger on the board walk. St. Maarten has the best beach (in my opinion) only 2 ships at port that day, so the beach was not crowded, and the view was awesome! 2 Relaxing Sea days on the way back to Fort Lauderdale (well other the being on the look out for parentless teenage boys) All & all a great cruise, just wondering if we will continue w/the Princess Line? It maybe time to move to Celebrity Cruise Lines. That makes me sad, as I have spent thousands of dollars w/Princess, but I do not go in for terrible teenagers who parents don't care about them & want them to be everyone else's problem! Read Less

This was our first time on the Regal Princess and our fourth cruise aboard a Princess Ship. The Regal is Medallion ready and we loved the system. I could track my son, husband and other shipmates. There was one glitch in which I couldn't locate my daughter because she is a minor not staying in my cabin. It is to protect minors, but there was no way (yet) to let me add her. Our loop hole was that my son could track her as he was another minor. Every dining experience was good. Our favorite speciality dining and the only one we did was Sabatini's. It's excellent! I highly recommend the short ribs in the main dining room on lobster night. I just ordered surf and turf and had the lobster tail on the side. We only ate breakfast in the dining room once, but wish we'd done it more often. We met lots of nice and interesting folks every time we shared a table. In Princess Cay we just did a beach day and rented a clam shell. It's nice to have shade access if necessary. My mother in law did the glass bottom boat tour and said it was "Okay." (Not too thrilling). In St. Thomas we taxied to Red Hook and took the ferry over to St. John and then took another taxi to Trunk Bay Beach. It was a beautiful beach. There is a snorkeling "path" with some signs to read. It's not the best snorkeling I've ever seen, but it was still pretty. There are no chairs or umbrellas. We were only approached once by a lady living there selling bracelets. My daughter had to have one. The trip across the two islands was scary, but we made it. The roads and steep, winding and they drive on the opposite side of the road but still have the steering wheel on the left side. In St. Maarten we just grabbed a taxi and planned to go to Little Divi but the driver (Uncle Al's Taxi) talked us into Mullet. He was a GREAT driver and was basically a tour guide the entire drive. He charged us $8 per person one way. We got to the beach around eleven and planned to stay until 2:00. We thought Al would go drive more people, but he stayed at the beach chatting until we were ready to return. There were local ladies selling merchandise, massages and hair braiding on the beach. My daughter wanted braids so I said she could get three. I agreed to a massage without discussing a price (mistake). While I was off getting my massage my daughter got 14 ($42) braids and the massage lady told me I owed her $80. Good Lord, I am sure I could have argued, but I set my hubby to an ATM since I didn't think I'd need as much cash as we spent. Al drove him to a nearby casino. The chairs were two plus an umbrella for $15. What I thought would be a cheap taxi ride day ended up costing about $211---take away the massage and braids and it was just $89. My son bought a burger and a soda which was ten bucks I believe. After the ports, we had two relaxing sea days that went all too fast. The comedians were great and we enjoyed the shows we went to. We also went to several of the game show events in Princess Live...Voice of the Ocean, The Married Couples game, Majority Rules and Battle of the Sexes. All were entertaining...more so if you participate in the last two I mentioned. Cory was the cruise director and I thought he did a really nice job. The galley tour after the food demonstration was interesting. My husband and I did the $25 wine tasting in Allegro. We learned about six different wines. I managed to drink it all and I rarely drink. I could feel it when we were done. Next time I'll sign up for the $40 per person one to get better food. That one is less people and is held in Sabatini's. The pool area was very nice and I didn't feel like it was too crowded. We were at the end of spring break season for public schools. I think there were only 300 children aboard out of about 3500, so a very small percentage. My 15 year old daughter really had a great time with the teen center. It's basically just a hang out. They have their own hot tub. My son (10) spent a lot of time at the basketball court and none in the kid program. I don't know why he didn't go there....just didn't want to. He used to participate when he was younger. To sum it up, I'd definitely do it all again! Read Less

Loved this ship! So glad they are making a duplicate with the Princess Sky. This ship is large enough to keep everyone occupied and user friendly too. Loved the mid ship atrium. Gave the Ship a sense of community. We selected this cruise because of the many ports of calls. Gave us a good flavor of the Western Caribbean. The medallions were really handy and helped a lot when we got off the ships with identification and getting back on the ship. Often when we disembarked there were other cruise ships. The Princess medallions and the staff would have no lines, while other cruise lines would have lines that snaked all over the pier. The entertainment was amazing and the movies under the stars truly an unique experience. We found the staterooms to be ample in size and both my husband and myself are not "small" in stature. However in all fairness we were not in the rooms much either, as there is so much to do on the ship and we booked all 4 ports of calls shore excursions. Shore excursion are pricier than what you can find in the port, however if safety and getting back to your ship on time is a concern I would stay with the Princess line shore excursions. Overall this was a wonderful experience for our entire family. We did this during spring break and brought our 2 young 20's daughters. The age mix on the ship was perfect. There were many families with small children and a few teens and college age students. The night life was very tame. If you are looking for a party boat this is not your cruise. Read Less

This was my first time going on a cruise, and it sure didn't disappoint. We booked this cruise during my school spring break, and for my parents' 25th anniversary. (They got married on St. Thomas during a cruise on the old Crown Princess. They went on the Sun two years later.) Unfortunately, my mom couldn't go, so it was just me and my dad. Some of you may remember my thread in the forum. Anyway, this cruise is 7 days and the itinerary is Princess Cays, Falmouth, Cayman Islands, and Cozumel. It left from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In Florida, we stayed at the Crowne Plaza hotel, and it sure was nice. Nice view, pretty spacious, no bugs. From a window further down the hallway, I could see Regal next to Carnival Conquest. We took the hotel's shuttle service to the port, which we waited about an hour for. They must have a thing for Celebrity Cruises, as the first ship they called for was Silhouette, then Edge, then Silhouette again. Finally, they called for Regal and Conquest. I felt bad for the couple who came a bit late who needed to get to Silhouette. Very nice people who I talked to for a while. It took us a while to get into the port because there was a bunch of tankers that kept pulling in. Not to mention the mile long line of taxis. Speaking of, we should have just called a taxi from the hotel. Once we got into the port, we had to drop off one person at Celebrity Edge, then we had to go all the way around to Carnival Conquest, passing numerous other military and cruise ships, including Harmony of the Seas. After Conquest, the rest of us were dropped off at Regal. Inside of the Princess port, we went through security and got our medallions. I got blue and my dad got gold. My mom also would have gotten gold. For some reason, my dad's medallion was defective. He had to go to the front desk twice to fix it. The first time, he got a new medallion. The second time, they said it was a problem with the account. I had no problems with mine. I like how it unlocks the door by walking in front of it. It's nice if your hands are full. But, what if you don't want it to unlock and you walk past? Does it stay unlocked? So, about this ship. What a beautiful ship. I could tell how proud of it the crew was. It wasn't very crowded. The crew and passengers were all very nice. No matter where I sat down to eat, whether it be Horizon Court or on the Lido Deck by Trident Grill, somebody came up to ask about drinks right away. The food was awesome, even though I didn't eat much. The ice cream is the best you'll ever have in your life. I had about 2 vanilla cones a day. We had the unlimited internet, but I wasn't impressed. It was pretty slow. Well, what should I expect from internet at sea? Our stateroom was mini suite M428. It was gorgeous. The balcony was big since it was at the end of the Sea View Bar. Our steward was Kleynard, or Kley as we call him, and he was absolutely awesome. He was so nice, did a great job cleaning, and would always leave us chocolates. He even would convert the couch for me to sleep on and would fold all my blankets. When he would come in the morning, he would convert it back to a couch. Thank goodness, I have no idea how to do that. If I go again, which I want to when I'm a bit older, I would certainly book this same stateroom if possible. The entertainment was really good. I loved the Sail Away celebration, with all the dancing and singing. That Love Boat horn sure was something else. That was a nice touch. Anything Love Boat related on a Princess ship is a nice touch. I'm not a big movie watcher, but I did end up going to Movies Under the Stars a couple times. The first time, I came late and still got a good seat. I got popcorn from Swirls and a blanket from Calypso Cabana. When I sat down, the head cushion fell and hit me in the head. I go to fix it and my ice cream and popcorn spill. I'm such a clod. A mom notices and sends her daughter to get me napkins. I said it was unnecessary, but she still got them anyway. The second time, I watched Crazy Rich Asians in a hot tub, which I found to be pretty stupid. Most of the movies they played were stupid. But, you couldn't drag me out of those hot tubs even if you tried. The pool was absolutely freezing, so I sat in the hot tubs talking my head off. No wonder I ended up with sun poisoning. I looked like a tomato, I was burning, had the chills later, and then my eyes swelled up shut. Ouch. I sure did like the concerts, though. I watched Elton John and Bryan Adams from the hot tub, both of which I like. What I find weird is that they start playing movies before it gets dark. They start setting up way before. One of the people I talked to had been on about 20 Princess cruises and was complaining that they played a lot of Tina Turner concerts and was tired of it. She also said that their first time on Regal was the first time they used medallions and it was full of problems. I was in the teen lounge once, and it was pretty cool. There were computers with PlayStations and a hot tub outside. There's nothing really to discuss about ports, since we didn't do any excursions. We did go onto the islands, though. Would I go again? Heck yes. I would wait a little while because I had crippling homesickness every night on this cruise. Overall, I loved this cruise and would want to go again on this same ship. (I'll post photos later, since they're all on my phone. I'll either send them to the computer or do it on my phone. If I can post videos, I will do that too. I got a good one of the Sail Away party, the Edge setting sail, people waving to us, and the horn.) Read Less

We decided before we went on this cruise that we would accentuate the positive; nothing is perfect...and our outlook would determine our enjoyment. We had a wonderful time! Overall, the staff was professional and wanting to please...the dining room food was good...and our mini suite was comfortable, although it seemed smaller that those we’ve had on other Princess ships. A minus was the size of our balcony...very small, but held two chairs, an ottoman AND a small, round dining table. Problem was, the table took up so much room, that we couldn’t put our feet up on the ottoman, nor recline our chairs ... not enough room. We asked to have the table removed, but were told it wouldn’t fit thru the cabin door. So we kept it next to the bed as another night stand during the entire two weeks. Two big pluses are Alfredo’s and the sea food/sushi bar! Wonderful! We ate dinner there Instead of dressing up on the four formal nights. And the late brunch/lunch in the Concerto dining room on sea days was elegant...reminiscent of cruising in the “old days!” Food on the Regal was ok... nothing really special in the dining rooms, other than their perfectly made crime brûlée for dessert, and a perfectly toasted bagel served with a mountain of lox. Dinner at the Crown Grill was disappointing; it’s not contained, is very loud and the tables crowded together. The meal was no better than the dining room. We ate at Horizon Court twice, and didn’t go back. Food is not properly seasoned, sauces are bland, and nothing that was supposed to be served hot, WAS hot. And for the most part, the staff seemed bored and put upon when we asked for napkins and salt. On the up side.... we loved the layout of the ship...loved all the nooks and crannies where we could sit to read, or to have a drink and talk. We’re people who cruise for the time on board...our balcony... and to relax. We could sail on a ship to “nowhere” and be happy! The Regal is a beautiful ship. Crooners was great... very friendly staff and good drinks! We’re going home VERY happy people and would do it all over again next month if we could! We went platinum after the first week, and will definitely be looking for another Princess Cruise in the near future! Read Less

We chose the Regal Princess because she was a new ship and because of the fairly good reviews she was receiving. So pleased that Princess has changed the "chopped up" feeling we experienced on the Royal Princess as well as some of their older ships. It was a pleasure to be able to walk from one end of the ship to the other without coming to a dead end and having to go down or up the stairs to reach the dining room. The Piazza was as beautiful as ever and the entertainment was really good. The Beatle tribute band the last night in the Piazza had everyone up and dancing and singing along with them. The Crooner's Lounge had a fabulous singer and piano player each night. So pleased with the affordable Mocktail beverage package. Also the internet package of $10 per day was great value, even though I did not use it. The shops had good variety and very good prices and I was able to purchase a really neat cruise theme top. Every crew member and staff and officers that we encountered were so friendly and courteous as well as helpful. The ship was so clean as well and the new Medallion experience was great. Hope other cruise lines switch to similar programs in the future. Food was very good as well as a decent variety being offered. We are really looking forward to booking another cruise on the Regal Princess in the future. Read Less

Princess did not address the children running and being unattended in the hot tubs-sign posted "no children in the hot tubs." Luggage did not arrive to room until 3 hours after we left port. Luggage was being delivered to rooms at 7pm after we left port at 4pm. Food was very good. Buffet had great selections. Entertainment was great. Movies on Demand was awesome. The movies were available on your big screen TV in the cabin after it was shown on-board atone of many locations. Ship was clean and service in the buffet area was very good for drinks. We had a port issue at the Caymans. We had tenders at the South Port which is rarely used. Waiting for a tender the lines were long in the sun. Princess supplied cold water, a cold rag and umbrellas for the hot sun. Carnival Vista was also at the port and their passengers were not offered anything while waiting in the long line for the tender. Read Less

We booked a mini suite on this beautiful ship. The room was very nice, roomy, clean, a full bathroom with bath and shower. We were impressed. What was less impressive was that there were 3 bottles of water in the room, too 500ml and 1 of 1.5 ltrs. The caveat was you HAD TO PAY FOR THEM!, the small ones were $2.50 and the large one 3.98 + 18% tax, ridiculous for the amount we paid for the mini suite. Now as far as food is concerned no complaints as long as we wanted to eat in the buffet, the main dining room had a dress code, I mean w're on vacation and a dress code was not what I expected, dress pants and a dress shirt in the Caribbeans, ridiculous. the was te food is outrageous, people take more than they can eat and it's all thrown in the garbage, as one of the waiters commented this is just one ship, there hundreds doing te same thing. Our room stewart Nicola was wonderful he took great care of us and our room was always spotless. To get back to rules they have a drink package, it's $60.00 per day per person plus taxes 18%, but if your wife or partner does not drink it does not work it's 2 or nothing. I was really disapointed with the overall mission of Princess make as much money as you can. The shows were very nice and we enjoyed them. I will never cruise with Princess again. Read Less

We took this cruise mainly to get away and to have the option to depart from Los Angeles. Thankfully, after we returned home both of us left the voyage confident we had made a good decision. The food was excellent and being our fifth Princess cruise we felt that all of the eateries on board were excellent. The Horizon Court Buffet was the biggest surprise. It was outstanding! A huge variety with many different selections each day. Crown grill as always was excellent as was our first visit to Sabatini's. Both places the service was top of the line, with fun and knowledgable wait staff. Our room was kept immaculate by our steward. The only minor downer was that the bed had not been transitioned to a Heavenly Bed yet but we were told it was coming soon to our level (Caribe Deck). The other downer was being charged for an excursion that was paid for a few months prior, but I am confident Princess will make it right after I contact my Princess agent. That is why I have focused primarily on Princess cruises. My agent, Phoenix Quevedo, always makes a sincere effort to ensure we are well served. The cruise was great. The entertainment was excellent with something for everyone. The stage design, singers, music and energy ensured we returned every show we could. Speaking of energy, Matt O, was the best cruise director we have ever seen. He has that unique ability to entertain most anyone he comes into contact with. He is not afraid to take a change, ensuring he never allows for routine. A true professional with a God Given talent. We departed after enjoying each day of the trip well rested and actually refreshed. We have already booked our Cabo cruise for December 2019. Read Less

Was the best time on the ship! Enjoyed the ease of getting on and getting off. Was quick and easy, nice for a change. The Regal is our favorite ship as this was #7 on her! They always appear to keep her fresh and looking good. Had a mini suite and enjoyed the extra space! MDR - was upset with not being allowed into the MDR. We got on board and found on the patter our time was 5:30 pm. Turns out we were suppose to be there at 5:15 pm, can't make that to late with luggage, sail away. Don't know why they changed times but am about to give up and start looking at other Cruise lines who have normal dinning times and stick with them. Also never seen so many people in the Buffet at night, wonder if that's a sign? Entertainment - The comic was outstanding, the other shows are old so we don't go anymore. But had some great movies with MUTS! Service was impressive. Folks actually care and smile. Going to miss that if we start looking at other lines. Hope they are that impressive! Ports we been to but always enjoy wondering around both islands and looking around. Would love to have gone to the French side in St. Maarten's but keep hearing its not ready or may not be safe. But it makes me love the sun, warms and folks in port and the shops in town. Got to love island life! Would love to go again and again just have to find a ship that fits our needs since the Regal is heading to the other side of the world, we will miss her! Read Less

We chose this sailing as it was a good value for a spring break escape with our granddaughters. It was our 47th cruise, but first for our 6 year old and 2nd for our 9 year old. The entire experience was very different from what we normally do / enjoy on cruises as a couple. Our focus was for the children to have a good time. As detailed in specific section, our mini-suite was awesome! Our stateroom attendant Ryan was excellent. We sailed the Eastern Caribbean for the upmteenth time. I carefully selected excursions that our girls would enjoy. For convenience and safety, I booked them directly with the cruise line. In St Thomas we did Coral World. I would absolutely recommend the facility for a fun and educational experience. The tour guide was very informative and wonderful with the girls. After the excursion, guests have the opportunity to swim at Coki Beach. I was prepared with swimsuits, but my kids didn't want to leave the touch tank. The other feature they particularly enjoyed as the aviary and feeding the birds. HOWEVER, next time I would NOT book with the cruise line. As has always been my frustration with cruise line excursions, there was far too much waiting in line. We checked in at the pier a few minutes before the scheduled time, then waited in the hot sun for at least a 1/2 hour; then they crammed us like sardines into open air taxes for the 1/2 hour ride to Coral World. The tour ended by 1pm, but our ride back wasn't until 2:30pm. It was too much time to hang out at the touch tank but not enough time to do the beach. Once again we WAITED for a painfully long time while other guest finally decided to come to the taxi. In retrospect, I'd suggest taxis leave as each one fills up. It was hot, boring and a waste of time. Take a cab. In St Maarten we booked the airport snorkel tour and everything was BRILLIANT. We had a minimal wait time, no bus, just walked to the boat (at the water taxi pier.) We had a pleasant boat ride to Maho Bay. The crew dropped a floating dock off the side of the boat for easy access to the water. They provided floatation belts and snorkel gear for those who wanted it. It was a wonderful experience we all enjoyed and would do again. The crew were great; they announced each plane as we could barely see it approaching. It's not quite the same as watching from the beach, but wasn't as noisy or intimidating either. On board you can order food and/or drink at very reasonable prices. We had main dining with a table for four. Probably because we had children we were assigned a table "in the corner." We were directed to the table the first evening with that specific description. A few nights into the cruise, I had noticed a table by the window that had not been occupied and asked about it. They told me it was assigned to a party but they hadn't showed up, so we were delighted when they moved our table number over there for our 5:30pm dining. Our server apparently got sick mid-cruise and we were given another one, so nobody learned our preferences...one of the reasons we prefer assigned dining. Our meals in the dining room were always very good; we actually never chose an entrée from the always available selection. We encouraged our 9 year old to try things from the adult menu and she loved doing so! One evening she said "Mamie, when I order from the adult menu I don't feel like being sassy!" OK, then! We did have dinner on the Lido Deck both formal nights because...I left one suitcase tucked safely in our master closet at home during the chaos of loading the car. It held all of the mine and the girls' formal attire. We didn't realize until we were sorting bags for the porter to take. We made one quick emergency trip to a store as I struggled to remember what else was in that bag. We managed without formal attire, still got some great pictures and didn't go hungry. We loved our two breakfasts in the dining room and wish we had had more time to do that every day. We had room service more on this cruise than all other 47 cruises combined, but the girls loved dining on the balcony...close quarters and all. Horizon Court offered much more quantity than quality, but it was fine. I was very pleased that the grill now uses real cheese rather than plastic wrapped singles they had on our transatlantic. The girls loved having pizza and we all had too much of it. The "ice cream" is extremely poor quality and I won't touch it, but the girls liked it. My husband and I love going to the evening shows, but went only four nights together (one with the girls) and he went alone the final night to Bravo, which I have seen before and don't like. Everyone loved Sweet Soul Music and the adults absolutely loved Born to Dance. Comedian Steve Caouette, two nights in a row, was FANTASTIC!!! We took our girls to Camp Discovery the first afternoon so they could see the area, meet the counselors and get the schedule. There were a lot of kids on board due to it being spring break. Our girls wanted to go there every time the doors were open, but we negotiated family activities and pool time to keep them from being in programming all the time. We were very pleased with the variety offered to the kids and how much ours enjoyed it. The children's pool is too small for spring break! And we experienced issues with a couple older kids pushing and bullying. I sat right on the edge while mine were swimming and sternly advised the three particular problem boys not to put one finger on the little kids. They quickly learned to go to the family pool when my kids were there. My girls also enjoyed the family pool (ranges from 5'3" to 7'3") while we were in it with them. MUTS offered only two family movies, but not at times that worked for us to see them. There were way too many concerts (CUTS?) but at least the volume wasn't as loud as it had been on the Royal in December. We are disappointed our girls didn't get to experience MUTS...maybe next time. Overall, it was a wonderful time. We'd absolutely do it again and purchased Future Cruise Certificates for that purpose. Read Less

My family and I were looking for an upgraded cruise line that we would feel comfortable cruising with for the next several years. We plan to take an Alaskan cruise in the near future and decided to try a Princess Caribbean cruise first as Princess has the majority of the Alaskan cruise market. We have been on other upgraded cruise lines before including Celebrity, Norwegian and Viking. We booked a penthouse suite for ourselves and an interior room for our daughter. The room was beautiful and the deck wrapped around the back and the side of boat as our room was located at the back of the ship. Unfortunately, we weren't able to use the deck after the first 2 days as the room steward never cleaned the floor, the table, the chairs or the cushions. The glass for the fencing was so dirty you could barely see through it. It was interesting, when we pulled into port in St. Marteen, a Royal Caribbean ship was there and those employees were cleaning every balcony so the guest could enjoy what they had paid for. The customer service on the ship was terrible at best. Our room steward never brought ice to our room even though it was listed as a daily room perk. He never stocked our minibar another listed perk. We tried calling room service, guest services and housekeeping but no one ever answered the phone. Guest services did answer 1 time and the person on the other end audibly sighed when I requested things like towels, water, and ice. Finally, I started asking other room stewards on our floor as I only saw ours 1 time the entire cruise. The other room stewards made it very obvious they did not want to help me, but they did after I gave them an additional tip. Needless to say we never got any towel animals either. Of course I would have been happy with a towel of any kind, folded or not. Our daughter was not eligible to eat in Club class dining with us since she was in a different room, even though we paid for 2 rooms included a full suite. So we paid for Anytime dining for the 3 of us. It turns out, there is no such thing on the Regal. There is only 1 anytime restaurant which is not enough. If you aren't there before 6:00 pm, which appears to be the time when the restaurant is full, then you have to wait until 7:30 and then it is first come first serve. You can choose to put your name on a list for a reservation after 8:00 if you prefer. We ended up eating at the buffet most of the time as did most people on the ship. Our first stop was at Princess Cay for a beach day and a BBQ in the Bahamas. The ship was at capacity but they only opened 1 side of the Island for the food during the BBQ and the bar. I went to the bar before 10:00 am to ask the person standing there where the bathroom was located. She told me they didn't open until 10:00. I again stated I just needed to know where the bathroom was and she again stated they didn't open until 10:00 am and I had to come back then to ask a question. So my daughter had blood running down her face from the nose bleed and we couldn't get napkins or tissue because this lady wouldn't answer where the bathroom was located. Fortunately one of the vendors saw us trying to manage the situation and brought us to the bathroom and helped me clean her up. I was very thankful for her help and tipped her as well. When it came time to eat lunch, since only one side of the island was open, the long was LONG. I stood in line for an hour and 10 minutes and when we finally made it there, the only thing left was hot dogs. They closed the lunch down promptly at 1:30 with no consideration for how long the line was taking people to get food and some people never got to eat at all. It almost made me thankful for the gross hot dog we did get. St. Thomas and St. Marteen were the other 2 stops and the shore excursions were very nice. We enjoyed the islands as always. Our daughter is 18. Typically when we take cruises she goes to the activities listed for people her age and finds a group of friends to hang out with for the duration. Thanks to social media, she still stays in touch with some of them which is nice. Regal cancelled every activity listed for her age range. She didn't meet a single person on the ship. There was only 1 club to go to at night and it was constantly playing 60's - 70's music. It was also completely empty. There is nothing for young adults on this ship even though it was the height of Spring Break season when we were there. Getting off the ship in Ft. Lauderdale was a total nightmare. The luggage was not in the location it was supposed to be. We were light blue 4. We found our luggage across the room in brown 6. It took over an hour to get our car out of the garage and the people who worked there were surly at best. This cruise felt like a Carnival cruise with a hefty price tag. We will never take another Princess cruise again. Or any cruise line owned by Carnival. We will go back to Celebrity and enjoy the service and amenities they offer. Read Less

Nice and clean ship, but many things are just lacking. Theater shows are good IF you like music and dancing. Nothing else. No variety whatsoever. The smallest balcony cabin I ever had in my 26 cruises. Cabin did not even have a couch or a 2 seater. Not enough entertainment. Top decks have no water or any other attractions, like many other ships nowadays. Complimentary beverage options are too limited and ONLY available in the buffet on deck 16. And I mean it. Not a single beverage station anywhere else on the top decks or in the lobby/piazza/atrium. Menu choices in traditional restaurant is lacking. Nothing too exciting, and staples of cruise dinners not even offered. The coffee in the main restaurant is so weak, one think one’s drinking tea. After complaining about how weak it was, got no help and the coffee was just as weak on the next evening, and next, and next. But we were invited to order “specialty coffees” though. I guess the super extra weak coffee is a calculated measure. Waitstaff was good. So was the cabin steward. Read Less

I sailed on Princess cruises 4 other times and they have been memorable experiences every time. The Production shows have always been excellent. The entertainment from the piano player, dancing, movies over the stars are great! The food is excellent. Big variety. I love lobster night. Not many cruise lines have lobster night these days, but Princess does. Princess advertises that they are the Love Boat and they truly are. Going back to the entertainment I loved seeing the Beetle Maniacs. The band sounded and looked exactly like the real Beetles. I first saw them on my last Princess cruise, the Crown Princess two years ago. I was impressed with them then and I was impressed with them on this cruise. I also liked going to Princess Cays. It is their private Island and it is so relaxing to go to the beach and ocean. The cruise provides food on the Island too. It is very convenient. I would recommend Princess Cruises to anybody that wants a fun and relaxing vacation at sea. Read Less

The entertainment was really good. The comedienne was so funny. He related to all us older people. The food was/is delicious & you can eat as much or least as you want. We missed the little souffle's but there were two served this time. We had a great wait staff, hostess & Maitre'd. First, this is our 2nd cruise with the Regal. Boarding was awesome, however recommend not to pre order your medallion, wait until you get to terminal. They are still working out the kinks with this process. For example,we ordered our medallion 3 wks before our cruise, however received another passengers medallion and someone else got ours. The Technolgy on the ship is amazing and blows all other cruise lines away. It’s so cool because their are cool apps you can download like ocean ready, ocean compass and play ocean. We used play ocean because of all the Triva games and new ones every day. We stayed in a balcony, D332 it was ok however we had to look down on a life boat, not cool. Our steward was Denchi he did and awesome job! Cabin was always clean, only wish Princes would install USB ports near the beds and a outlet in the bathroom. Our most memorable moment regarding entertainment was the group Beatlemania they were amazing, sounded and looked just like the Beatles. We didn’t go to any other shows, most were the Princes dancers which have seen before and the comedians according some of the passengers were only so so. We did however like the The Voice of the Ocean it was very similar to the real Voice. Regarding meals, we love that Princes still does not charge with Room service unlike other cruise lines. We used this service often. The only complaint would have to be the Horizon Buffett. It appeared to be lacking variety and served same food every morning and the lunches were also lacking. The main issue was they would take the lunch Buffett food down by 2:00 to prepare for dinner, so we just went to Alfredo’s Pizza which is free and amazing. We ate at the Crown Grill their steaks were amazing, however I think the choices on their menus are over tops, meaning just a salad would be nice, not all this fancy food . Can’t say enough about the pastry chef amazing desserts with every meal. The dining room meals were ok,again kind of over the top..keep it simple. We bought the beverage package, so totally worth it, unlike other cruise lines you get top shelf without any extra cost. Love the activities, so nice to see Oz who came from another cruise line. We played lots of Triva and met new friends, I wish they would have the Triva not in Princes Live no tables and can’t get your chairs in a circle. Wasn’t crazy about the Cruise Director never saw her except for special events. Love Alfredios Pizza especially Mica our sweet waitress. And omg the Lady Luck lady who hosted Bingo spoke to the passengers like we were kindergarten kids, awful and annoying. Our excursions to Princes Cay was the best, rented a 9.00 raft and enjoyed relaxing. Try to take the first boat off so you can get a good spot and a raft. Paid for a excursion at St Thomas, we took the St John Champagne tour it was second time going, however it was different they hired a new girl and she get pouring champagne mixed with rum punch, not smart... Dissembarking was quite easy we used Princes Transfer to the airport it cost but worth it. Because we opt to come one day earl, we rented a car best idea ever. Alamo rental has a car rental at the port you can drop your car off and a shuttle will take you to the port.. One last note during our cruise a small plane crashed with 2 men overboard, the Regal was the closest ship, Captain and crew did a fanstatic job with the rescue, both men were saved because of their expertise and speed. We have cruised many times before but this was our first cruise on a Princess ship. When we booked this cruise we asked for fixed dining for our evening meal. Once on board the ship we found our time for evening meal had changed yet again - this was changed twice in the UK - without notification - from 8.15pm to 7.15pm and then on arrival on the ship to 7.45pm again without notification. The service in the Allegro dining room was terrible - most nights well over 2 hours for a 3 course meal - too late for seats in the shows. The meals were not fine dining and the presentation on the plates was awful. Soup was sloshed around the side of the dish, which left marks on the table cloth and a meat pie in a pot was the same. The sea was not rough. Another day we had cold potatoes and rock hard vegetables - is this the norm on Princess ships? We never felt full after our evening meal. Then one evening one meal we chose off the menu was a beef tenderloin and asked for it to be well done. This arrived red raw and was sent back via our waiter. It had to be returned 3 times - could not eat it - felt ill - the Head waiter in white jacket was aware of the situation. What happened to formal night? We dressed up for dinner - others dressed in shorts, t-shirts and flip flops. We were given a time of 11pm to put our cases out on the last night - then this was changed to 10pm at the last minute - just before we went for dinner. This was not possible, as we were not back from our evening meal which took so long. We booked trips earlier and arrived on the ship to find that they had been changed with extra money added onto our bill - without any notification. 0ur original trip on home flight day was cancelled for some reason. We queried our bill and the extra money was deducted. We had to vacate our cabin at 8am so had to take the trip that had been allocated for us - without our knowledge - at an earlier time of 8.15am in the Concerto Restaurant for 9am coach on our last day, as we were not flying home until late evening and although the coach took us to the airport we still had 8 hours sitting about. We had a mini-suite which was good - no Kettle in the cabin but very clean - but by the time we got back from the safety meeting on our first day - our champagne was flat! Our cabin steward moved items around and some papers, maps etc., disappeared. We are tidy people. Some items were moved in the bathroom the day before we were leaving - obviously trying to clean up for next people! VERY DISAPPOINTING - NEVER AGAIN Read Less
