Sailed out of Fort Lauderdale (1st time) and what a breeze. Embarkation was smooth and concierge class and above is the only way to go. Disembarkation was just as smooth. Lounge with coffee/juice and pastries was available on the ship while we waited for our time to disembark. The customs system at the port is smooth (picture taken) which eliminates the long line ups to be interviewed by custom officials. The ship was clean but a little outdated. We understand it is due for an overhaul...new carpet, room color, etc. Will make it much better. They need to understand that no one used the grass area. Great for publicity but not practical. Could make additional seating for guests on the top back deck (bar area). Cabanas were used by 1 couple on the whole trip. I think over priced and another item that could be eliminated. Dining: we have learned that it is not worth eating at the main dining area. We found the same food at the cafeteria and more relaxed and less crowded. The cafeteria food is bland but seasoning is available everywhere. Understand that everyone has different tastes, it is better to be bland and season your food (ie salt/pepper) to your liking. They did have Ox tail in the cafeteria that was exceptional. We (and others) requested to the chef to have it served again. Low and behold, 2 days later there it was (not something they usually do). The chef even made a point to let us know when it would be available. Nice touch.Specialty dining is hit and miss. Sushi on 5 was great. Fresh and appetizing. The Porch , not so much. Without improvements, it could go. Over priced, small protions and the food was not that fresh or tasty. Lobster bisque was the best part of the meal. The seafood tower was very disappointing. Entertainment: probably the least attractive item on the ship. Again, thru past sailings, we found the entertainment to be average at best. Don't expect Jersey Boys, Cats, Seinfeld or David Copperfield. Usually home grown and again average at best. Casino: Very nicely laid out. Staff was amazing. Very talkative, not pushy and that goes for servers to dealers to management...Joseph, Amy, Sol, Lou, Diedra, Hania, Charlene, and yes, you too Kyle. I know I missed some names, my apologies. Celebrity needs to loosen up the slots ! They need to know that any winnings on average just get put back into the machines. Probably the worse payouts of all our cruises. We have only cruised Celebrity and will continue to do so, but we are hoping the refurbishment and maybe some other changes will keep them at the top. Time will tell. Read Less

We have sailed on 5 Celebrity cruises, Equinox, Eclipse twice on Reflection and first time on Silhouette. We love Celebrity for the low key, kick back relaxing atmosphere. we are 55 and 62 years old. So not young and not ancient. Celebrity really does treat guest with respect. (except maybe Guest Relations, they need to work on this) We choose Celebrity mainly for the duration and ports. plus the bang for the buck is awesome with the perks they offer. Getting on the ship is amazing fast and well organized, we always fly the red eyes. And arrive at port around 10am and are checked in and on the boat by 11ish. Getting off this time was a breeze. with the face recognition they do we just walk out once we found out cases. Amazing. This time we did an excursion on Grenada, Ultimate Sea, Sun and Fun Cruise . Well worth the money for sure. Snorkel at the underwater sculptor park and another area, then a wonderful lunch on Calypso Island, which is a rock formation with a restaurant at the top. It was amazing. St Lucia we booked an outside vendor Ambrose tours to Joulise Beach. Would not recommend at all. Not worth the cost at all. Sugar Beach is amazing on the resort side of the dock, the Public side is a grimy rocky beach. But you are able to go over to the resort side for sand and swimming. Public side did have snorkeling area. Next time we will probably just taxi it to Rodney Bay or Pegeon Island. I think Celebrity should think about removing Dominica from its Itinerary. We had stopped there on a previous trip and was not thrilled at stopping there again. I only got off the ship to walk through the vendors and back on again. The Ship is looking a little old but I understand it will be going into drydock next January. Can't wait to see it, as we booked next years on Silhouette again. We love Barbados and always just taxi over to Harbor Lights and have a good beach day. St. Martin we loved in the past because we would go over to Orient bay, but after the hurricane we now just beach day it usualy outside Kokonuts which is closed now but still have access to Chairs and umbrella we negotiate price for that and bucket of beer. We booked late so we were given a cabin on the 6th deck with the life boats. not great but it did ok for us. On board Dinning was good. We tried Quisine Le Petit Chef for the first time. It was fun but would not do it again. Lawn Club Grill is amazing. did that one twice. Main Dinning room we actually only ate there twice. Not for any fault of theirs but because after a few buckets of beer on the beaches we just relaxed and ate at the Buffet. Which is nice and chill. Variety is good, something for every one. Entertainment was alright. Not to impressed with the first production show cant even remember the name.. Second production Pearl was good. Some of the other shows did not interest us, did even bother going in. Not for us, but could be great for others. Read Less

It has been a few years since we cruised on Celebrity so thought we would try it again, especially since we liked going to the ABC islands. Arrived at the port at 11:15. Registration was fast and we were on the ship by 11:30. The aft balcony room was great. Room attendant was super. Room was always cleaned and ice was always available. Concierge class hor dourves were not very appealing. Taryn, the Concierge, was very helpful. Activities on the ship were the normal offerings. The theatre shows and presenters brought onto the ship were very good, The ship show had "Rap" music and was not very good, especially for an older crowd which was most of the ship. The casino was 100% non-smoking, which I appreciated. The food in the main dining room was a little disappointing with limited choices and similar menu items each night. Food itself was just so-so. The best part of the meal was the wait staff and the sommelier who were terrific. Only took one excursion, Aruba Scenic Cruise and Beach Break. The catamaran was overcrowded and the beach break time was very limited. Departure was smooth and quick. Arrived at a different terminal than we departed from so had to take the shuttle to the parking lot in the port. Shuttle was waiting just had to wait until it was full. Celebrity is still a good cruise line, just not as good as a few years ago Read Less

I had a group of 35 with some people with special dietary needs. I am vegan and the choices were very disappointing . Although my waiter was wonderful and tried very hard to find good dishes he didn't cook the meals. Twice they were so spicy I couldn't eat them. For most of the weeks I ate sweet potatoes and some wonderful vegetables that he brought every night. I have had far better experiences on RCL and P&O. One of the other has celiac and is diabetic also very disappointed in the choice. There are so many with food issues that we both expected much better choices We all enjoyed the cruise but definitely missed the Schooner Bar and felt it lacked nightlife I have a wonderful group coordinator and the head of excursions arranged a wonderful tour of Bonaire. I also missed my virgin Mango Tango I tried to order many times. It was never the same as I had on numerous RCL cruises Read Less

Arrived at Everglades cruise port around 10:30 wand wad on ship by 10:45. Room was ready by 1 pm. Great aft balcony on deck 8. Quietest room we ever had. Great room attendant in Reynoldo . Food was great in main dining room with good service. Ocean View was nice except on sea days and it was packed, and kept running out of plates. Entertainment shows were good, especially the brought in enteraners. Saw a rock group Billy McGuigan rock band. This was the best performance we ever saw on a cruise, The house shows were so so in my opinion, wife liked them more than I did, There last show looked like they picked out costumes at Walmart One bad thing about the entertainment was late night shows, Ship was dead. !!!!!! We stayed onboard for a second cruise on the Silhouette. See our review of the Feb 10, 2019 cruise that we posted. Most of what we commented on there applied. It was the very first time we've been on back-to-back cruises. We liked the fact that the itinerary was completely different, and there was no overlap of ports of call. Being a shorter cruise (9 days compared to 12 on the first cruise) the demographic was somewhat different. But what was disappointing was that the entertainment was mostly a repeat of what we had on the first cruise with 2 exceptions. So, there were nights we went either to see a movie, or do something else, rather than see the shows -- which weren't great and too loud anyways. We stayed in the same cabin, and had the same great cabin steward. But we were a group of 8, rather than 10, so they changed our table, which was located in a somewhat partly-crowded spot. We had a competent, but not involved wait team: Gilmon and Jayare Again, our Assistant maître d', Olga, continued to provide us with exceptional care and kosher meat dinners. While we're scheduled for two back-to-back cruises on the Silhouette for next year (after it is refurbished in drydock) the two itineraries are now practically identical (they weren't when we made the bookings in Feb 2018) so we might not end up taking both those cruises in 2020. Spent of few days precruise at the Hilton Marina, after all the reviews we found it to be clean, comfortable with a great, helpful staff. Took Uber to port since we were in a Sky Suite we were taken to the lounge where we checked in and were taken right on the ship! Taken to Michael’s where we met Vanessa Solano, the concierge. She was kind and helpful and continued to be smiling and beautiful the whole 10 days. Albert the bartender was always there to remember our order. Went to Luminae where we met some of our favorite servers from previous cruises. Thanks Dominic “the smiling waiter” for your laughs great service. In fact the whole crew under Franko, was fantastic. Went to our room, way in the aft, which we love. Met Imade and Lorenzo who were helpful and kept our room clean with wonderful service for the whole trip. Cabin 1667 has always be our go to cabin on most ships. No noise, a little vibration a day or two but then one of the smoothest trips ever. The ports were Grand Cayman, Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. The beaches were good and the swimming was perfect. Would choose this itinerary again in a second! The entertainment was a band that had the whole house rocking both in the theater and the Grand Foyer. Never saw anything like it, including people riding up and down the elevators dancing!!! Everyone was singing along and they came back, at both shows, with an oncore. It was The Billy McGuigan Rock Band. If you ever see them on a ship we will remember them. Had the privilege of being on the helipad for sailaway in Bonaire. Crew was social and engaged the passengers attending. Food in Luminae could be improved on, they need a change in the menu. The staff was amazing! We did a catamaran sunset cruise, arranged by the ship and saw the most beautiful sunset. We traveled as a couple, celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary. Booked another cruise while onboard and look forward to our cruise on the new EDGE next March. Ship goes in for refit in January. Look forward to another cruise on the Silhouette. Read Less

This is our annual escape from Winter in upstate New York. Empbarkation was smooth & quick. This was our second cruise in Suites . We are hooked, embarkation, Luminae, Michaels Club, and 20 min disembarkation are all worth the extra $$’s to us. Our first “Suites” experience was on Summit last September. Quite frankly that experience was better than what we experienced on Silhouette. Perhaps the ship size?! The evening “cast “ shows continue to disappoint. The highlight was the tenor and a terrific rock group. The ship was hopping to the music so energetically , I was worried we might capsize (just kidding) We were disappointed with the Taste of San Martin excursion, they completely skipped the scheduled cheese event . Our Dominica tour of the waterfalls and Emerald pool was excellent; a chance to experience the rainforest. The St Nevis tour provided an excellent lunch, one of the best seafood meals on our trip. Overall the cruise gave us the respite from snow & cold, otherwise very much like our past Celebrity Cruises. Read Less

We choose this cruise because we hadn't been to 2 of the islands. The shore excursions were very good. We also enjoyed the food in the buffet more than many ships. Only went to the main dining room once, the service there was not very good. Also, the cabin stewarts were not the best. We could be gone for 6 hours at time, and the room would still not be done. We had to constantly walk back upstairs to wait. I enjoy playing bingo while on a cruise and they have an antiquated system on that ship. Also the projector was not working properly in the room where it was held, so you couldn't review all the numbers. Also, the activities staff always seemed to be rushing through all the activities. Perhaps not enough staff? One good point is that there was many areas to smoke. Overall, a good cruise. Read Less

Two weeks away with friends, wanted sunshine and being looked after. Celebrity are top notch when it comes to cruising. If i have one criticism it is with their menus, they never change. There were three Chic nights and the first two were just normal menus, mthe final one the big hitters come out, Lobster, Beef Wellington, Duck ala Orange and aleg of Lamb, you cannot eat them all, why oh why can they not be split across the three formal evenings. Entertainment was excellent, just disappointed that the Tenors of Rock could not be brought on, lol. Dont like Jugglers, Magicians butbitherwise a great rick band, comedian and two vicalists Staff superb Ports of call good, some great some we got straight back on board. Dominica still not fullt recovered from Hurricanes. The ship ran out of Red Stripe and Miller after four days, or so I was told. Wine choices on classic packages are limited, is that a ploy Celebrity Overall loved the cruisev Read Less
