My last cruise was in 2010. There has been a lot of changes since then. The dining room used to be a wonderful experience where the wait staff made you feel like royalty. On this cruise we were in the dinning room around 2 hours minimum and missed out on a lot of evening activities. The first night of the cruise it took 2.5 hours. I noticed that several people didn't come back to the dining room after that. We had to pour our own water and when the pitcher ran out, we had to ask for more water. Additionally, we didn't receive some of our entrees that we had ordered. It was this way the whole week. I really missed the personal experience in the dining room. It now seemed chaotic and unorganized. The food however, was very good, but bite size portions so make sure you order plenty. We tried every food venue and each one of them was excellent. Pasta Bar was my absolute favorite. We had bought the Cheers! package and we felt the drinks were watered down. There are not enough bartenders at the bars and it would take an eternity to get waited on and get a drink. The bartenders at the Sunrise bar located at Aft, were very rude and got our drinks mixed up more than once. Embarkation in NOLA was stress free and very smooth. We had FTTF and it is worth every penny. We were in our room by 11:15. The elevators were very slow and most of them were not working. We were on the Rivera Deck so we chose to take the stairs. We ending up loosing weight on this cruise. My fitbit said I walked 5 miles a day. My room was 1256 and we literally roasted the whole cruise. I had brought a fan and I asked for another. Even with two fans it was so hot. I am not of hot nature and even I was sweating. We asked maintenance to come and they stated that "it was up to Carnival Standards". In 2010 the room steward called us by name and made us feel special. Not on this cruise. I could hardly find our room stewardess and we were always running out of towels. I had asked for ice every day and even gave an additional tip at the beginning of the cruise and she remembered only twice after that. I highly recommend a Ocean View Deluxe. It is perfect for a family of 4 and the extra bathroom is wonderful. The shows were astounding and a must see. Since the ship is so large and not easy to navigate, I recommend learning the ship's layout before sailing. I must say, that I am disappointed that Carnival has made so many cutbacks and that we no longer receive the special personal service that was offered 8 years ago. We are going to try a smaller ship next year and see if that makes a difference. Read Less

I absolutely LOVE Carnival. This is my second cruise with Carnival, and was completely satisfied. The Staff is so awesome, the food is great. The entertainment is amazing. You'll never go hungry, and you'll never get bored. I cant wait for my next one. Every single one of the staff that was told my name. Always knew my name each and every time I was in their presence. I was amazed by that. I didn't matter if it was the housekeeper, or the spa staff, or the bar tenders. They always addressed me by my name. I was also very impressed by the Captain. He informed us that there was a disturbance close to the ukitan peninsula that we would be going through. And to expect 10ft. Squalls. But he actually got us through it and past it in such a timely manner that we were barely affected by it. Read Less

I guess we should start from the begining. This was my step-son’s introduction to cruising. It was my 5th with Carnival and Maria’s 2nd. I have been on a total of 12 cruises now and do not consider myself a novice cruiser anymore. I have come to expect a certain level of service and competency while cruising and enjoy being pampered. This is why we primarily book suites although or last cruise on the Breeze was a Cove Balcony and was very nice. This time was a Grand Suite for the extra room with my step-son coming along. I have done Owners Suites, Grand Suites, and Family Suites on RCCL; Neptune Suites on Holland America and have come to expect a certain level of service when booking a suite. Early embarkation is a standard that I have experienced and was expecting from Carnival. Carnival has now cheapened this experience with the placement of the Platinum and Diamond members first in the boarding process. Not a big problem but sort of cheapens the deal of getting a suite with the expedited embarkation and debarkation being the prime selling points for being a suite guest. The only other reason is to get the extra room. There is no other special treatment received like on other cruise lines. You even need to purchase “Faster to the Fun” if you would like immediate access to your suite upon boarding or you need to wait until all cabins are open in this case at 1330. This is another perk for upper tiered passengers but not for suits. I did purchase FTTF due to this policy and still found that access to the suite was not available unless you took it upon yourself to go through fire doors that are closed and not normally operated by passengers. The ship itself did not disappoint and the usage of all the facilities were determined by my physical problems and their limitations that they cause. We pre-purchased the thermal suite package and used it extensively throughout the cruise to the point that we were in the whirlpool or sauna (or both) after dinner rather than going to the shows. This felt good and help us relax. A little pricey but well worth the expense. I really like this class of ship and it seams to have been designed to compete with the Voyager class ships of RCCL. Integrating the food service on the 5th deck with all of the other activities are convenient and noteworthy. There is plenty to do on the ship and no reason for boredom or hunger and plenty to explore. Now for the rant. It appears that Carnival is doing everything within their power to become the Walmart of the cruise industry. This was my step-son’s first cruise and on the first “Formal Night” we were seated at a table with two older women that were dressed nicely and another couple. This other couple was not dressed for anything resembling formal dinner. And no one cared. If they did care then nothing was said or done and these employees should be demoted or fired for allowing this. The guy was wearing gym shorts, a printed tee shirt and flip-flops. His mate was dressed similarly but had on a cover-up as a shirt to go over her swim suit. We were cordial and had a fine dinner but while looking around I noticed that this was the norm and was not addressed any way by the staff. If this was just an isolated incident, it wouldn’t mean that much but it was like this every night. Tee shirts and shorts, gym cloths, swimming attire. Why did I think that I needed collared shirts/ties and even a suit for formal night? When I first started with Carnival, I would get the Tux delivered to my stateroom on the first night for the formal nights. The service was not up to standard either. Waiting to be served food that was brought out hot but sitting a while (15 minutes) before presented. Wine being ordered but not poured during service along with other drinks not being poured then once confronted the employees would profess how busy they are and all needs will be looked after, then ignored again. I will not reduce the tips but feel the service at the master dining room was so consistently bad that other cruise lines will now always be considered and Carnival Will not. Can someone tell me what is going on with the tee service on Carnival ships. I had read that the tee bag services were modified before going on the cruise so we brought our own just in case. We were lucky we did. Carnival has cheeped out in a Walmart type of way here also. An example would be in the spa relaxation area. Where there used to be an assortment of Bigilo Tee there is now a Bigilo box with just Nestle Tee bags in the box instead of the assortment. Sort of sucks that the Tee service has been degraded to save money but Carnival tries to give the appearance of being a better Tee service by using the box but not the actual assortment. Also, the assortment is available for an extra charge now on deck 5 at the paid coffee service. Well, that is my rant. I have been on enough cruises to know that one person’s opinion really doesn’t matter so I will vote with my feet and start using known and unknown cruise lines rather than Carnival. Read Less

My first cruise with my family. (Children are In Their 20’s)Some amazing experiences exploring the ports and the ship. Roatan was our favorite port because of Bodden Tours and our private tour! Loved Monkey business and playing with the monkeys. Vanilla was $1 at the supermarket and we found an amazing private spot to snorkel. This was our favorite port! We enjoyed the Krazy Lobster in Costa Maya. We made the mistake of “committing” to a beach club before we arrived in the little strip. The taxi driver told us Krazy Libster has bad water. Haha. Just take a taxi to the Krazy Lobster. Free beach access and the best food. Cozumel was so touristy, but we had fun at club Aszu, where there were clear kayaks. Our tour driver in Belize took us to aTravelers Rum and a great tour of the city’witb Anthony. The kids did the Carnival Mayan tour in Belize and they said it was almost 2 hours on a bus and only 30 minutes at the ruins. I loved our place on the ship, deck one riveria mid ship. We were on and off easily and I heard no outside noise. It did get warm on several nights. The food was good, maybe a little blander than we expected. The kids thought it needed hot sauce. I over packed. I would only bring one suitcase next time. People didn’t dress like I expected them to. They were much more casual. Lots of young children too. I will definitely cruise again in a few years. I think this is the way to go with big extended families. Read Less

We chose this cruise based on the convenience of leaving from New Orleans, as well as the date. Stayed in cabin 9384 and was pleased with location and cleanliness. We never saw our steward (Papas) in our cabin, but it was always clean with fresh towels and ice.The entire ship was kept very clean, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed most of the food, especially the breakfast buffet, pizza, Guy's burgers and Blue Iguana. The MDR had a few meals that were excellent and a few meals that were disappointing. The MDR soups were our favorite. We enjoyed speaking with Agnes (with the cute dimples) in the Gathering on several occasions. There were several other staff members that we enjoyed speaking with as well...including Alina, Sergi, Arianty, and Marlon in the MDR. Ports were okay. We stayed within the ports when in Costa Maya, Roatan and Cozumel, because my elderly mother's hips were bothering her with too much walking. In Roatan, we took the flying chairs to the nearby free beach (free lounge chairs available). The water was very nice and clean so we enjoyed taking a dip. We enjoyed the Belizian Foodie Excursion which we chose for my mother's sake, as very little walking or sun was involved. We sampled 5 or 6 Belizian dishes that were similar to Mexican food, then took a bus tour through town to a local fruit stand where we sampled 4 or 5 fruits (including a custard apple, which I had never even heard of before). Last, we stopped at an open-air seaside restaurant where we made ceviche. I thought I disliked ceviche, but it was delicious. We also enjoyed a couple of weak rum drinks and an unusual fruit salad that was very good. Read Less

It started out with very slow and rude service at dinner... day 2, my husband got food poison and was not Allowed to leave the room for 24 hours.... day 3, noticed out of the entire time, our room was never cleaned... not even one time... day 4, a pipe burst and flooded deck 9 and we were about 7-8 doors away from the worst of it.... no sleep for the next two days bc of vacuum cleaners running 24/7 and a terrible mildew smell... we spoke with customer service and they said there was nothing they could do.... called carnival after we got home and again worst customer service imaginable... it was literally the worst cruise ever and I have been on plenty... carnival just didn't care about their customers and the flooding was very trautmatic. I'll never cruise with carnival ever again! Read Less

We chose the Carnival Dream because we been on fantasy class and wasn't too impressed at all. We loved this ship! The only negatives I have is the great restaurants wasn't open long enough at all! On port days they were open till 3:30 but we still had to hurry to get there before they closed. The main reason to pick certain ships is the offerings of activities and food places. Carnival needs to reconsider this option in future to stay open later. Also, I got a voucher first night for a free drink because I am a gold member and wasn't allowed to use it till last night after 5pm! I think that is ridiculous on our 7 night cruise. Carnival should be ashamed for that tactic i love Carnival but things need to be changed I think. I was excited to become a gold member this cruise and it was stingy with a drink they sell all the time. I think there should be better music choices also, newer music on lido deck. The cruise director Lee Mason was awesome! He was energetic and always had activities going on. Please Carnival fix some of these issues! We thought about going with Nowegian to knows in the future. We took the seven day out of New Orleans that stopped at four ports, including Costa Maya, Belize, Mahogany Bay and Cozumel. We had a blast, the ship was huge and had plenty of things to do and activities for everyone. My husband and I went to relax and loved the spa deck with the access and the Serenity Deck is just too fabulous. I also love it b/c I can take my kids next time and have a completely different experience. Costa Maya’s beach excursion, snorkel adventure, power snorkel adventure, resort adventure, all happen on one beach, literally, it is about 1 mile long. So, just understand most likely you will all end up at the same beach with the same access to free drinks but it fun and the drinks are yummy! Next stop was Belize, which I checked off my bucket list and will not return. Took at two hour bus tour to the Mayan Pyramid and climbed the tallest one, which was super hard for me but I am proud I did it! Won’t ever again!!!! Mahogany Bay is beautiful and we scuba dived here, and if you do make sure you do it at this stop, the best one! We used Discover Beginning Scuba with Mike and it was totally amazing, bet part of our trip!!! Do it, I promise you will love it. My husband and I were both beginners as in we had never done it before and they were so patient and kind, and made it so easy! We are going to get certified together to do it more, that is how awesome it was. Last stop, Cancun we just walked around, shopped and relaxed. It was very nice, the water is so breathtaking and this is a great place to just sit, drink and reflect after an all the other adventure ports. Anyway, the staff and people at Carnival are so helpful, kink and truly want you to have the best time. Go, they are really the FUN ones!!! Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the proximity to our home, We could drive, and the date of sail met our needs. We were skeptical after seeing reports on national news about flooding on upper floors due to a broken pipe. No need to worry, the ship was in great shape! We, my wife. daughter and I, shared a room with a balcony, but we had plenty of space and enjoyed the view sitting in our private area. If you don't like people or crowds, don't sail on Carnival! The ship was full of passengers, but never overbearing, just plan ahead for what you want to do. If you want to have fun take this ship! The cruise director is fully engaged, and we enjoyed everything that was available, there was plenty to do all the time.. I had intended to try the Alternative dining restaurants, but the food offerings in the Main dining room were so good I never left; every dish was well cooked and presented; this was the best of any cruise I have taken. Service was great by the staff, friendly and attentive. The other eateries were very good too! Guy's burgers, the pizzeria, the deli, etc., are all good. We did not get to sample all that was available. We still found quiet spots on the ship for alone time. The excursions were good, we enjoyed the Dolphin swim and Stingray city in Grand Cayman, and horseback riding in Montego Bay. Cozumel we made our way around the island with a cab. We scheduled excursions on the ship and were comfortable moving about on the main streets. We would take this cruise again, and hope other Carnival ships are this good. .. . . Read Less

This was my second cruise but the first cruise for my children who are 5 and 6. Our cruise sailed out of New Orleans. We drove down and parked our car in the garage. I was a little worried about that at first but the experience was so easy. Carnival had plenty of porters ready to help with our luggage from the car and then directed you where to park. Boarding the ship was relatively fast for the amount of people boarding. The line never stopped moving. We scheduled our boarding time from 1:30-2:00 and we were on the ship by 1:15. The only thing that I would add to this experience is that you are permitted to bring soda on the ship, but it must be in cans, not bottles. That also means no bottle water. When we got to our cabin at 1:30, our luggage was already in the hall waiting for us. Our room was an inside room. It was very clean. Shortly after arriving, we met our cabin steward, Merta. He was wonderful and always smiling. He came in and introduced himself and also put the bunks down for the kids. He brought extra towel because we had four people in our cabin. If traveling with children I do highly recommend getting children's motion sickness tablets. My children seemed to be doing well with the movement of the ship until my 6 year old woke up in the morning and threw up in her bed. Merta was quick to respond and take care of the issue. Anytime we saw him in the hallway he always smiled and asked how we were doing. The dining was great. Breakfast and lunch we usually ate the buffet or we would eat Guy's Burgers. The buffet always had several items to choose from. The hours were great and always seemed to be an option anytime of the day. We did not eat at the pizza place, but they were open 24 hours. For our evening dining, we did the our time dining. With two smaller kids, I felt this would be an easier option than having a set time. We were able to eat at our restaurant anytime between 5:30 and 9. The service in the restaurant was phenomenal. Each night we were greeted by Alina and after a few nights, my kids would run up to her and give her a hug. She was wonderful and always smiling. We had Jose three of the seven nights. Jose, Putu Edy, and Michael were wonderful. They interacted with the kids and made animals out of the napkins for them. One of the best parts is that they would always call us by name, making us feel special. Formal nights were amazing! The staff would have a song that they danced to each night. This made the experience that much better and enjoyable. We went to 4 of the shows during our cruise. Each and everyone of the shows were great! I love music and all the entertainers did a great job. My children enjoyed them as well. My children went to the Camp Ocean a few times during the cruise. They enjoyed their time there and asked to go back several times. It was their choice if they wanted to go, I did not force them to. My children also liked the pools as most kids do. I love that Carnival offers life jackets to the smaller kids. We also watched a movie on the Lido Deck. It had cooled off that night and Carnival had blankets that you could borrow while watching the movie. My kids thought that was wonderful that they were able to watch Coco in a lounge chair under a blanket. On one of the days at sea, my children were able to participate in the Sousa Palooza parade and story hour. The entertainment staff were so good with all the children and they loved how they were able to interact in the story. This cruise had everything for any type of vacation you want. The only thing that I did not rate as excellent was the shore excursions. We got off the ship in Jamaica and Cozumel and did the 10 Best in each stop. We wanted to shop and get souvenirs to remember our trip. The excursion description said there would be shopping but the tours were so rushed, you did not have much time to shop at all. I would have been better off to not pay the extra money for the excursion and just got off at the port and shopped there. Also be aware in Jamaica, everyone you meet expects a tip. They call you in for a picture then say, don't forget to tip for your picture. I found the people to be very pushy and rude. The service on the ship was extraordinary. One staff member by the name of Shujith was amazing. We met him while sitting outside and he interacted with my kids and made them towel animals. They thought that was so neat. We went to the towel folding class and he was there helping the kids fold their towels into animals. Each day he saw my kids, he would fold towels with them. Every crew member you came into contact with on the ship was always smiling and seemed so eager to make sure you were having fun. My children and I enjoyed our vacation so much and much of that is because of the staff on the Carnival Dream. Thank you for making this such a memorable experience. We are already planning our next cruise. Read Less

We chose the Carnival Dream because it was within driving distance and priced within my budget! The process was simple and Carnival was very helpful throughout the process. I even booked and canceled two excursions and money was refunded on both with no problems. I booked a cove balcony (2937) and absolutely loved the privacy. The only complaint was the room was loud at night it sounded like tables dragging above us at night. This is why I only gave 4 stars. Service was great! Carlos our room service guy was super helpful changing batteries in my TV remote and giving us free laundry detergent when the dispenser did not work. Our evening waiter ALAN was the man! He was well read and we had very interesting conversation throughout the week. I actually miss the guy lol! The FLYING SCOTSMAN! The cruise director was amazing. So talented! You must see this guy in person to understand. Entertainment! The ENCORE productions in the evening were the highlight of my day! FLICK was fabulous! You must check it out for yourself! Everyone gave their all to you every evening and I loved it. Excursions and Ports! Montego Bay was terrible but to be fair I didn't book an excursion! I probably read to much about the travel advisory before going there lol! Grand Cayman was awesome did the stingray city and loved it! Cozumel well we shopped and shopped and shopped! We choose this cruise for price as well as where is was going? We wanted to see more countries than just Mexico and Roatan & Belize were a part of this itinerary? We went to Daniels Monkey & Sloth Sanctuary as well as snorkeled in Roatan then Belize we did shopping at the port then back to the ship to rest up and play a little bingo. Cozumel we did a treasure hunt provided by the jewelry stores. This was a blast and we ended up getting a bracelet dull of charms as well as a necklace & earrings all for free and no purchase necessary. We will take, this cruise again one day. Our only complaint with CCL is their expensive drink packages. I don't drink alcohol but my husband does and CCL requires all parties to purchase the drink package if one person in the cabin purchases it. At over $50.00 a day that is almost what my ticket for the whole cruise cost. Absolutely ridiculous! Our steward Ms. Linda was awesome. We were never without ice in our fridge and our room was cleaned to our expectations. We chose to dine in the crimson room in the evenings at a round table which gave us a chance to meet some new & very interesting people. Our servers were exceptional though I do prefer not to be pushed to try something I never asked for which only happened on out first night thank goodness. The Guys burgers & fries cannot be beat for lunch and the condiment area was always fully stocked. As for the buffet dining, the food was medocre, nothing to brag about but definitely convenient for a last minute snack. I eould just say CCL should eliminate all the dirty mirrors in the buffet dining rooms. If there is no time to clean them then just get rid of them because they wer without a doubt a not appealing to look at while we were trying to eat a meal. as for activities on board, we played bingo one night and watched mivies every night in the big screen under the stars. Probably couldn't get much better than relaxing under the stars while eating popcorn and having an ice cold drink while watching a mivue in the big screen. were already planning our next cruise we kived it so much. Chris also did a a wonderful veterans appreciation on the last day of the cruise. Our cabin steward Pande kept our room clean and the ice bucket full. We didn't see him much, but saw the after math of his work. (very Good). We also did anytime dining and had Eka as our server for most of the cruise. We used to love cruising with Carnival. I don't know if it was just this ship, but Carnival has cut way back on the things we used to love the most about cruising. The shows aren't even worth watching. I used to love the Las Vegas style shows. There weren't any dancers! They were the best part of the entertainment. There's just so much that's not the same. There aren't any more cloth tablecloths except on elegant nights. You have to pour your own water at dinner. You have to pick between morning and night for having your cabin cleaned. It used to seem like the stewards would sleep under the bed. Haha. This ship is not laid out very well. You can't walk all the way across the ship on the 5th floor unless you walk through the smokey casino. The only thing that they have improved on is the wide variety of food. There are a lot more places to eat now. It's still the cheapest vacation for the buck, but I'm not sure we'll be doing this again. This ship did have the best cruise director I've ever had, but I think he's off of the ship soon. Read Less

We were greeted warmly by our Cabin Steward, Adi! He was phenomenal. He called us by our names and he was enthusiastic about our days ashore. Also, he made the most wonderful towel displays and left our cabin spotless! The food was ok most nights! We enjoyed the elegant nights the most. the dinner selection was wonderful those nights. Because our daughter likes to swim, many evenings we had to eat on the Lido because we wanted to be with her. I tried every restaurant and fell in love with Chrisann from St. Lucia at the coffee bar! She new just what I wanted (vanilla milkshake with shot of Espresso!--THICK)! The Entertainment was great! Chris the Flying Scotsman was our Cruise Director and he really made our experience wonderful along with his teammates, J-Swift and Stephen! I thoroughly enjoyed our journey together. We played bingo, participated in trivia, watched the LipSync Battles, visited the spa for the kids party option, danced at the deck parties, watched Dive-In movies, and more. I would do it again in a heart beat!!! We Definitely Lived the Dream!! We also enjoyed the Stingray City and Rum Beach excursion in Grand Cayman, We went to Paradise Beach in cozumel. It was probably the highlight of our trip. It was wonderful!!! Fresh Mojitos!!! The beach was ok. There was a water park area (inflatables) available; however, my daughter loves water but is a beginning swimmer and the water was too deep for her. BUT she LOVED The pool there! It was warm and refreshing! Wait until Cozumel to make your liquor purchases. Carnival matches the price BUT specialty items are SIGNIFICANTLY Cheaper!!!! My group leader planned it for a group of 17 and it was our first cruise after 32 years of marriage. I can honestly say we were very happy with cruise, the food and drink, the wonderful shows that Chris and his staff provided every night, our delightful room service and talented dinning staff. If you are awarded a chance to have Charlie Brown as your waiter, I promise you will love him. No complaints here, if anything, the teens and tweens on the ship should have been watched closer by parents, they were quite unruly at times. All around the ship provided us with the ultimate and lovely vacation. Look forward to another cruise! shore excursion, we paid Annis $20.00 per person and she took us to all the main points of the Grand Caymans. She will stop for you real quick if their is something you want to see. In Jamaica we did a 35.00 a person excursion that ship recommended and stayed safe. I must say that some women saw I had money in my hand to pay for a hamburger and they were trying to steal from me but I held tight. Coszumel, the Isla Passion, well worth it! Food, drinks, shopping and swimming! and nice boat ride!! Read Less

Unfortunately teenagers were running around at all hours, shouting and throwing things, and when we complained to guest services, as this was carrying on until 03;00hrs, we were informed, there was nothing that could be done. On the deck below us, there was an out door chess set, teenagers would congregate there, throwing the pieces around, shouting obscenities, I requested if the pieces could be removed at night, but was informed that they were in a public area, so could not be removed. The food in the Crimson restaurant was served cold, so we had to return it to the kitchen, on more than one occasion, in the buffet, you may have chilli con carne, but there was no rice, we had roast turkey on the menu, but there were no vegetables. And when i'm sitting down to my evening meal, I do not expect a waiter to be wandering around with a tray of drinks, which he is trying to sell shouting, {shot, shot, shot}, this is just a booze cruise. My wife and I will not be using Carnival again. Read Less

We had children with us ages 3,3,9,11,13,15. There were so many rude children on this cruise. Too much chair saving with no one using them for hours. I felt like service was awful compared to previous cruises. I will never cruise during spring break with Carnival again. Entertainment wasn't what we were used to. Paid for premium internet and it was a waste of money. Paid for the bottomless bubbles for a couple of the kids...they usually were done eating before drinks arrived. Going to the bar for their drinks is a horrible set up for children. I loved the location of our room on the 11th floor. It was very convenient for pools, slides, and food. The BBQ restaurant was open about 2 hrs the entire cruise. Long lines and really was not that good. This was our 6th cruise, 4th Carnival, 2nd time on the Dream. Disembarkation was a huge mess. No one was following the directions of which floors were being called. We will definitely be trying a different cruise line just for comparison if we cruise during spring break again. Read Less

My love for Crusing takes me to the ports. This is my second Cruise on the Dream loved it even better the second time around! Did a balcony on deck 11.. was nothing short of amazing! Wanted to try a cove balcony was worried about being on deck 11 was great wentvright out of our room and there every thing was! Lots of choices to eat. Mongolian, Guys burgers are good! But I do like the traditional grill with choices of chicken nuggets French fries, nachos. tried the new pizza wasn’t bad! Alternative dining seems to be going down on choices. Ice cream oh my had it a few times. Brunch was very good steak and eggs! Guys Pig & Anchor was amazing just wasn’t open enough it was open two of the sea days! Even though we missed our port in Roataun it will not stop me from cruising! Ship was clean! I miss a lot of the old perks. Bigger isn’t always better! But you have to roll with the times! Read Less

We had an amazing time on the Carnival Dream. The staff was amazing. We loved all the bartenders, when you passed staff members they always greeted you with a smile. Our most favorite was our waitress Olivia. She was beyond amazing and we made sure to ask for her every night. If you are ever on the dream and eat in the cremson dining be sure to ask for her. Food was good some days and not so great other days, but their was always something you could find to eat that you would like. The only problem I had was some peoples children walking around with their foul language mouths and rude, which is not carnivals problem but the parents problem. Loved the comedy shows, they played movies at night on the lido deck, they had an 80s party and a mega deck party. Overall, we had an amazing time and will definitely do it again. The only bummer was we couldn't go to mahogany bay because of the bad weather Read Less

This was what we picked for our honeymoon and we were very disappointed. Numerous factors came in to play that could have made our trip better but as it was, we may never cruise again. This was my husbands first cruise and my second. Which my first cruise was amazing and I have no complaints. Embarkation was very, very quick and smooth. Even with the long line of people I was amazed by how fast they got everyone on the ship. Our Cabin was fine, no complaints besides the horrible television selection. Dinio our steward was wonderful. Always smiling and friendly. Dining...We truly looked forward to dinner every night. That, I think, was our favorite part of the trip. IGusti, Benni, and Ana were a well oiled machine. Dinner service was always very quick and with a smile. We shared every evening how each of our days were and loved getting to know the crew. As for buffets, they were average. Plenty to choose from and some items were wonderful and some not so great. Guys burgers made us sick the first day of the cruise which really set the mood for the rest of the week. Needless to say we didn't try that again. We never got to try the Ancor BBQ, it was only open one day that I know of and the line was awful. Entertainment was okay. The Flying Scottsman was however amazing and did well getting everyone involved and up beat. Another favorite of our was the Love and Marriage show. I could have went to another one of those during the trip. We laughed so much we cried. We missed alot of the shows because of timing. Our dinner was late so alot of times it interfered with shows. We would either have to rush through dinner or we would have to leave early and miss the ending. I did not enjoy the vocalist at all in the lobby. There was one male that was okay but the rest were awful. We loved Passion Island in Cozumel even though they cut our trip short because the water was getting rocky. It was very relaxing and well worth the money. We didnt do any other excursions unfortunately. The very one thing we had our hopes up to do was in Honduras and due to weather conditions, which I understand, they were unable to dock the boat so we had to go back to Cozumel. Other things added in to our horrible trip...due to timing we had to go during spring break which meant there were tons of kids and only one adult only area that I was aware of which was always full. (The casino even had children roaming through and lingering around) Normally that wouldnt bother me so much but young kids were unsupervised all over the ship and were VERY rude. They would make videos in the stairwell and then get mad when you walked down the steps. They would cut you in food lines to catch up to their other siblings. They took up all of the hottubs and pools during the day so you couldnt swim. The pools were supposed to stay open until midnight and the crew would close almost every night by 9pm. The last port we decided to stay on the ship and enjoy the pools since everyone would be off at excursions and low and behold they were closed. I had my last straw after a Pixel crew member was rude to us while playing cards. I went to Guest Services to talk to someone about my complaints and concerns and basically was told to deal with it. There were a few things out of their control which I understand but they should enforce better supervision of children. I would never let my 6 year old roam around a boat that large by himself. I was not the only one complaining about the rude children either. It seemed to be an issue on our cruise. Also I think the pools constantly being closed down with 4000 people on a boat was ridiculous. He gave no explanation just that they have to clean it. They had it closed our whole last day at sea and only started to fill it up at night when we started back up the river toward New Orleans. Im not sure I will cruise with Carnival again. The Guest Services did not feel like there was an issue with any of my complaint so maybe I am just not meant to cruise. DONT CRUISE DURING SPRING BREAK FOR A HONEYMOON! Read Less

It was a great cruise due to the great staff. First the Flying Scotsman (Chris Williams) cannot be beat! He did a one hour one man show on the last afternoon that went from Elvis to Italian Opera (an Impossible Dream in between plus many others!). Our housekeeping Team, Arry and Lulu, did everything we wanted and needed! Arry made me a new towel animal every day and let me keep them for the whole cruise. My favorite was a bird in a swing with a piece of bubble gum in his mouth! The wait staff was excellent - Putra, Arlianty (Leah) and Hannifi. Leah gave me extra scallops and made me Mickey Mouse chocolate melting cakes (with 2 ice creams). We had a lot of seafood - even extra lobster tails!!! Putra danced with my grandsons which made it special! With all the eating I was shocked that I had lost a pound! But we also did a lot of walking! Maghogany Bay was an excellent beach especially if you get a cabana but book early! They get sold out. The ecopark on Belize was a good tour as you can see a lot of the lay of the land and hear history of the people of Belize. We just shopped in Cozumel since we had been at that port several times before. We did pick up our bambo sheet set from Cariloha that we won on the Love & Marriage show. The CArnival Dream is VERY big - our first cruise was on a ship with 600 guests which cannot be found any more. I do prefer a smaller ship. The disembarkation was the fastest we have ever done!! Embarkation was even not too bad. We were there at noon. At our age, not sure we will go again but will use Carnival if I do - maybe Cuba??? Read Less

The Dream is truly that, a Dream cruise. Extra clean, very friendly personnel, restful time, great food, love, love, love the people who work for Carnival! They are so friendly and accommodating. They took care of every request with no complaint and with a smile. Every area was clean and neat. I never saw any messy areas. Our cabin always had clean towels and extras in some cases. Our steward personally delivered the next days itinerary and any messages. Rafael was GREAT!! All the public bathrooms were clean at all times. There was never any trash left anywhere because someone from the crew was always there picking up, mopping, vacuuming, and wiping down every area. I never saw any unsanitary areas. All public bathrooms had plenty paper and soap. Every where I turned, there was a dispenser for antibacterial solution and it was always full. Every time someone left a table in any eating area, there was someone cleaning it for the next person. I have NO complaints about any part of the cruise.I didn't rate the entertainment excellent simply because it just wasn't my musical tastes, but my husband who is a musician said that every musician and dancer was talented. I highly recommend sailing with Carnival anywhere and will sail Carnival again in the very near future! Great job, Carnival!! Read Less

New Orleans is fantastic, stayed 4 nights either side of the cruise. Embarkation was organised and so was disembarkation. I liked :- The ship itself- it’s lovely, the ships decor, cabin was good size with ample storage, cabin steward very nice, dining room, theatre ( good special effects), live band & the brass trio, Guys burgers were delicious as was the smoke house, Indian and Italian lunchtime food. I wasn’t so happy with dining room service being so slow although the staff were super and the food delicious ,the desserts looked lovely but didn’t always taste as good as they looked and I felt they went mad with gelatine in them, our pillows and sheets smelt quite unpleasant and I asked for new pillows but they smelt the same so must have been what they were washed with. I also got small itchy spots all over my arms and legs but my husband didn’t. I thought perhaps I was allergic to the sheets??. They went as soon as we left the ship. Getting on and off the ship was very smooth on excursions. I didn’t think the excursions were good value as they brought you back to ship so early. We went to one place and just had time to get round it quickly then had to head back to the ship which didn’t leave for 3 hours. We went to another which was a beach and spent hardly any time on the beach at all. In future I’d organise that myself. We went to a midnight film and really enjoyed that, perhaps the bar staff could have been a little quieter as they were shouting, laughing and crashing about lol! Luckily not all the way through the film :) The comedy room was really good and very popular- lucky to get a seat in there so paid to be early. The shows were good but the singing was iffy (harmonies mainly) at times. The entertainment director Chris was fantastic, he put his heart and soul into everything he did, he’s such a hard worker! I think I’d opt for anytime dining in the future, we spent so long in the dining room it took over the evenings so we went to the buffet a couple of times. One big gripe was the bar service, not enough staff so long waits at times, then they’d disappear with your card so another wait then sign - why don’t they just scan your card which they do when you get on or off the ship. It would save all the waiting and paperwork. All in all though, we still had a smashing time, we were on holiday so chilled out and went with the flow. The ship is great for kids, they were all having a ball and the special clubs looked fabulous, the waterworks were brilliant too. I must also add that every single time I used a restroom anywhere on the ship they were spotless and actually very attractive, like hotel ones! I’d definitely go again so it couldn’t have been that bad even with the couple of gripes that we had! I’ve tried to be as fair as I can, we really enjoyed ourselves. Read Less
