We wanted to do something special for our Silver wedding anniversary so we decided on the Adriatic Affair itinerary, where we celebrated our vows, followed by a hotel stay. The whole experience was fantastic. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and hardworking and the ship was lovely. Patrick, our cabin steward, was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for him. I had a light mishap with my dress, when we were getting ready for dinner at the captain’s table; however, some of the stewards were quickly on hand with a sewing kit, so a disaster was avoided. The food and drink were plentiful. We upgraded to premium all inclusive due to us preferring ‘zero’ pop, and my husband’s love of coffee. Our Celebration of Vows, in Venice, was perfect, and Elaine ( the social/welfare hostess) ensured that everything was perfect! It was lovely that she could share our special moment with us, along with the lovely Captain Nikos. We have got some lovely photographs that were taken by the onboard photographer. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and will definitely be back on the Celebration as soon as we can. Read Less

The full cruise was an adventure from start to finish. The on board team and crew were enthusiastic, friendly and most helpful when needed. There are so many crew I would like to mention, but some individuals deserve highlighting. Our cabin servicer PUTU was great, he was helpful and did his job to the highest standards, he is a credit to the ship and the team on it. The Bar teams were mind readers......they knew exactly what my wife and I drank without us even asking....Ervin and Wilson in the Horizons and Kumar, Sheldon, Kenneth and Sushil in the Hemmingway's Bar were always on hand even at daft O'clock in the morning. The food was very good and the shows were entertaining. The staff in the restaurants were great, they even sang Happy Birthday…..which was a memorable moment when the kitchen team came out front. The cabin had plenty of room in it with plenty of storage space for the belonging we took and the extras my wife always manages to accrue whilst we were away. The holiday was a special celebration for my wife, the extras didn't disappoint. The flowers the cake and the in cabin decorations were well received and appreciated….oh yes and the bubbly and strawberries went down a treat. we are looking already for next years cruise. Read Less

We have just returned home from a 14 day cruise "A Taste of Paradise" in the Caribbean and we have to give credit when it is deserved. We have been cruising with various companies for over 18 years and I must say this is one of the best cruises we have been on. From the moment we left Manchester Airport the staff from TUI/Marella made us most welcome. We where made most welcome from Cabin Steward through to dining room staff, waiters and reception staff. Entertainment well organised by Gavin, Cruise Director and his excellent support team. The service on board was top notch, food of a high standard, especially the speciality dining in the Meridian, Kora La, Hot Stone and Minstral Restaurants. Well done to Ships Company. A few names of staff that deserve credit - Meridian and Speciality dining room waiters, April Rose, Roy, Jasarmy and Kristamel. Excellent choice of ports on the cruise itinerary, our favourite was St Kitts. Read Less

Food, crew, entertainment and the housekeeping magnificent. The Broadway revues were one of the highlights of the cruise. The enthusiasm and ability of the group were superb. We would often go to the lounge on the 9 level after the show to listen to the quieter music. But oh the adds ons!!! £90 for 2 weeks wi-fi( connection not guaranteed) £25 for the room safe. £50 for premier drinks package. £1 for a can of Coke. £1 for a bottle of water Very poor exchange rates on the dollar and euro(.97 euro and 1.06 dollar) Don’t exchange back. £19 for tour to the bridge. £50 for tour of bridge, engine room and galley. But this didn't stop me from having a fantastic holiday . Because the ship was smaller the staff seemed more friendly and seem.to remember you and what drinks you wanted . The captain often made am appearance unlike on the bigger ships we never saw him once . I would like to mention that the staff in the Horizon Bar really made our holiday special, it was like having all your friends on board with you the staff that really went an extra mile for us were ,Roger ,Gecyl,Shaym,Ni Made, Eric and Luius, nothing was too.much trouble and they were always smiling , i work with the public and i know only too well how hard it is working with the piblic , they are a credit to your company I only wish that more of my staff were like these. I travelled with my elderly mother, from the outset I was impressed with the great staff - the cabin crew were unflappable when she collapsed mid flight, gave her oxygen and brought her round. All the crew on the Celebration were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The cabin was attended to twice a day, we found we were directly under the gangplank which turned out to be a bit noisy at times. We found the food at the self service restaurant and the formal restaurant good with a selection of fast food on the sundeck as well. The cruise was not overly expensive and I loved the itinerary of a different destination each day. The talented onboard entertainment also deserves a mention with a repetoire of 11 different shows Yes the ship is older and does vibrate but I actually found this soothing and was lulled to sleep easily. We didnt book any excursions as we took each day as it came but were happy with trips we took directly with the locals. Missing the sunshine already, I would go again in a flash!! Read Less

This was our first cruise and it certainly won't be our last. After a great flight on the dreamliner we were whisked from Barbados airport to our ship - the Marella Celebration. Everything was extremely well organised and we were in our cabin in no time. We had a balcony cabin on deck 9 - absolutely fantastic. It had everything you would need : toiletries, hairdryer, robes. Bed was very comfortable. The shower worked perfectly. Ronaldo our cabin steward was exceptional. He works very hard to keep everything in order. The restaurants were of really good quality. In the day we used the Lido - something for everyone here. In the evenings we mostly used the Meriden which is waiter service. Absolutely no complaints. It was great. Tried the Kora La once and it was OK. This restaurant has a supplement - probably wouldn't dash back. The bars are all well manned so depending what mood your in you can either dance the night away or watch a show or have a quiet drink. There's an outside bar on deck 6 outside Liberties which was a lovely place to sit and watch sail away. A big thank you to Bektur for keeping our glasses topped up!! The ports we went to were : St. Maarten, British Virgin Islands, St Kitts, Guadeloupe and St Vincent & the Grenadines. We took an excursion with Tui from St. Vincent 'Mustique Magic' wow wow wow - well worth the money. It was fantastic. Wish we'd booked the Death in Paradise excursion whilst in Guadeloupe as this was the only disappointing port. Never mind there's always next time. The weather was amazing. Yes there is vibration on the lower decks but to be honest you do get used to it. I have absolutely no complaints - so much so we're booked on the same cruise next Jan but for 14 days this time - can't give a higher recommendation than that. Read Less

We had a disabled cabin 101 apart from the "Lump" where they have raised the floor in front of the Bathroom. a few of the staff we have met over the years we have cruised with them, and were glad to see their friendly faces. Mainly "Ling the Lerciless" a play on Ming the Merciless The only drawbacks are the Small swimming pool/s and only 1 Extreemly small Jacquzi, and turning them into "all inclusive" seems to be turning them into "Booze Cruises" which IMHO is not the best way forward. This was our third cruise with Thomson/Marella to the Caribbean and our second on Celebration. It started off really well in Manchester Airport waving goodbye to our cases and knowing that we would see them next outside our cabin door! Arrival in Barbados and we were whisked straight from the plane to the ship and through the painless embarkation process. Now our holiday could begin. The first thing that hits you as you board is the friendliness of staff on board and their willingness to help if you need any pointers! We saw a few familiar face from our previous cruises. The ship has recently had a little bit of an update and you could see this in some of the publc areas and bars. Our cabin was well tended throughout by our lovely cabin steward Gusti who made sure we had everything we needed and also provided us with many towel animals ! Loads of storage and wardrobe space. Bar staff were really friendly and by the end of our cruise greeted us like old friends-especially in Horizons bar. We tended to eat our breakfast and lunch/afternoon tea in Lido buffet. Lots of choice for everyone and always easy to find a table. Evening meals were also great and we ate in the main waiter service dining room Meridians. Again really friendly and attentive staff. We always managed to have a table for two with no problems. Entertainment was ok - daytime quizes etc The evening shows were good and varied but for us the trio in Horizons were the best (can't for the life of me remember their name !). The main band could have been a LOT better though. Best entertainment was Captain Nikos though! Great afternoon call out each day and very entertaining with it ! We had some great ports of call - some of them smaller ones - and that's one of the reasons we return to Marella. The Caribbean is easy to do excursions by yourself but you do need to do some research beforehand. Ship excursions were varied and although we went on a couple found some of them to be extremely pricey!! Our top port of call was Virgin Gorda. Well Done Celebration !! Read Less

I really can't understand why people complain??? Yes the ship is a bit old but it does everything it needs to....gets you from A to B to Z with everything needed (unless you go 5 star and complain about that too?). My wife (who has a disability and TUI were great with the offer of a disabled cabin) & I enjoyed the whole experience around the islands & met some lovely new friends too. Staff - Excellent. Bars - Very Good (although should be 2 or more Bar Staff at all times). Food & Drink - Ideal. Entertainment - Very Good (something for everyone). Cabins - Not luxurious but if they are clean & tidy (as these are) then no complaints from us. Tours - Didn't do all as we like to do our own exploring (When in British Virgin Islands seek out Captain Friendly who will take you on an informative & very enjoyable 3 to 3 1/2 hour tour & visiting the Shell Man & Friends was the highlight). Transfers - Very Good yet we only did the arrival as return is a little early if you've got prebooked seats as TUI checked us in & our hold luggage was taken from our cabin straight to the plane (great touch TUI Thankyou). Tips for new travellers - Take mixture of U.S & Eastern Carribean Dollars as although U.S are widely used some prices better in local currency. Take Barbados Dollars for last day as locals will give you the price in their own currency first. Highlights - Apart from this lovely old ship & it being tbe best/slowest week holiday we have had then its the local bars, shops & people, as doing our own exploring we never felt threatened or intimidated due to the locals being friendlier than citizens of the UK. Negatives - Safe Key (£15 for the week non-refundable)....not a complaint but just a suggestion that this should be a deposit not an extra payment!!! ENJOY YOUR CRUISE WITH THE MARELLA SHIP THAT YOU HAVE CHOSEN AS YOU ARE ONLY USING IT AS A TAXI-WITH-A-ROOM TO TAKE YOU TO SOME ONCE IN A LIFETIME PLACES AS ITS VERY RARE TO HEAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT A TAXI...HAVE A GREAT TIME ALL!!! I give this cruise, the ship, the staff, the food, everything EXCEPT TUI, full marks. If Tui step up their game, and put customer service instead of money first, then there would be very little to moan about. Yes, my gripes are more like moans. I was determined my first ever cruisewould not be spoiled by a petty nasty Destination Services person. Dear Julie, oh how I will always remember our time together. I travelled with my blind husband. A large ship would have been difficult. So, the ship. Small. Compared to some monsters that moor up beside us, our little clipper was a tiny craft, but, she made up for it by offering the BIGGEST group hug every day. Our cabin was basic, a small porthole window, but, spotless, comfortable, and a happy steward greeted up with big smiles every day. He made our bed twice a day, chocs on the pillow. The next days entertainment itinerary every evening to read. And boy were we entertained. Shows, games, lectures, lessons, loads to occupy anyone lost for something to do. The show team put on energetic performances with lots of song, dance, feathers and sequins twice a night. Guest comedians too. With table service inclusive drinks from smiling staff who never found anything too much trouble. Ok food. Well. It was hot. Plentiful. Tasty. Varied. We began by using the Lido self service restaurant, but by day two, we discovered the silver service restaurant was inclusive and made more sense for us. You were treated to wonderful service, ask for your own table, no need to share if you don’t want to. Breakfast, a served up number of choices, never empty juice, tea/coffee. Lunch. Dinner, all choice of menu, all good, and order what you want, some guests ordered double servings! There are small gripes. The shops on the ship are expensive. And the continued push for diamond international purchases at port. The excursions are expensive. And watch out for Julie. We missed an excursion, it took us 1.5hrs to get off the ship on day one, the excursion left without us. No refund, your fault. She refused further discussion. £76. No way..I phoned their UK office, 3 days later she refunded us. But she wasn’t happy. Another gripe. Sunbeds. Same as in hotels. Never a sunbed to be had, towels everywhere! Oh well, enjoy the quiet of the cafe, bar or reading rooms while the towel folk play sunbed roulette. You will read that the ship is old and tired. Yes...but...not tatty. Always clean. Wonderful cheery staff. And amazing entertainment. Taylor the entertainment manager, knows his stuff, and seems to be everywhere! We have to say, that, we did not enjoy the Caribbean, for many reasons. We took many excursions, taxis, and found nothing worth returning for. But, others found secret beaches and lovely places to go. We didn’t. The ship was our holiday, and the Celebrity was wonderful. We got stuck on our last day while Gatwick Airport dealt with its drones. An extra day onboard enjoying the hospitality, there were worse places to have been stuck. And the crew, staff and Taylor, made us all welcome, and kept us informed on progress. This is where Tui redeemed themselves. Finding planes, and coach transport back in the UK. Our first cruise. Not our last I hope. Would not blink if I find another Celebration cruise I fancy! Read Less

SAIL THE THREE SEAS the itinerary that called me to sail on the Marella Celebration, reviewed separately. For me it all started with a 45 mile drive down the A1 at silly o’clock for the 06:50 Boeing 737 from Donny (DSA) to Dubrovnic (DBV) and a half hour coach transfer along the stunning Dalmatian coast. I must at this point thank all the other reviewers who said SIT ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE COACH. As the port cam into sight Cele was dwarfed by the MSC Lirica and Aida Blu The sail away form Dubrovnic was accompanied by music form the outrageously talented MUSIK UNLIMITED for a day at sea down to Celebrations flag port of Valetta, Malta I was pre-booked one both Malta Highlights tour which was a little disappointing due to quite heavy rain. Seabourn Odissey in Port Day 4, Messiina Sicily and the trip of the day was the Godfather Villages for me and I bought an umbrella opposite the world famous Bar Vitelli a today it was torrential. Day 5, Argostoli, Kefalonia, no trip today I decided to have a port day and just mooch around I caught the Red Train for a tour of the city. Weather was overcast but warm and more importantly DRY Day 6, Ingoumenitsa, Greece a glorious day and trip 3 to Necromantia and Parga in. My opinion we would have been better going straight to the picturesque Parga and having more time to explore and enjoy Day 7 up at 5 o’clock for the sail into Kotor in Montenegro - well I say five o’clock my iPhone had not changed the time from Greek so up at four it was then and failed to see the German U-boat pens, breakfast and off on the full day tout Highlights of Montenegro the highlight of which was transiting the road known as the 25 serpents. What a stunning country Day 8 wake up and we are back in Dubrovnik The ret of the time aboard being taken up eating, drinking and watching the excellent productions put on by the show team, I must say my favourite was the Broadway Shows extravaganza the finale being from Les Miserable and the last time I had seen it sung was by the Barricade boys, all of whom have sung the part in the West End, The Marella show team rendition was certainly equal to that Read Less

Just returned from this cruise. We booked this for several reasons, a late cruise, visiting Sicily and Kefalonia, adults only, all on the fabulous Celebration, in my opinion, Thomson’s/Marella’s best ship. The ships specification is well documented on the Internet so I won’t go into the details, suffice to say, the food, entertainment, information, cabin service, bar service and so on were all of a very high standard. The pre-booked excursion tickets were waiting for us in our cabin on embarkation and the embarkation and disembarkation procedures were incredibly slick, including the experience of parting with your luggage at East Midlands airport and not seeing it again until it arrived outside your cabin, without having to collect it at Dubrovnik airport. The same procedure (in reverse of course) on the return home. That’s progress. I few points about the ports of call. Messina, Sicily - a nice place but not a lot to do if you arrive on a Sunday so it may be worth booking a trip. Argostoli, Kefalonia - again, a pretty town but a bit sleepy. Worth having a walk along the front and across the causeway (which leads to the other side of the bay). Igoumenitsa, Greece - this is a port town, with ferries to Corfu and beyond. It has little historical interest. The Marella map shows a castle but all we found was a church, something that may have been lost in the translation? We actually booked a tour to Nekromanteio which is steeped in Greek mythology if you like that sort of thing, then onto the postcard-perfect village of Parga, and it really is very pretty. Not enough for us for a whole day but a couple of hours is perfect to climb up to the castle and take in the views. Kotor, Montenegro - this is a quaint but bustling town. Check beforehand how many ships are in on the day and it will give you an idea as to how busy it will be. There are loads of options for tours, including private taxi’s and hop-on, hop-off busses. As we had been before we did our own thing. I took on the challenge of climbing up to the fortress Castle of San Giovanni, approximately 1,200 metres high and approximately 1,350 steps to climb to reach the castle. €8 for the privilege and it is a seriously long climb, over uneven (and sometimes missing) stone steps, or, in parts, a steep slope. The view at the top is fantastic and worth the pull on your calf muscles and hamstrings for the next couple of days. In general, as we went in October, the on shore tour options may not all have been present as this is right at the end of the season. If you go earlier in the year, there may be more available. In summary, this is not an itinerary that jumps out at you. The is no “Venice” or Barcelona”, but the cruise does visit some quaint, pretty and interesting places, many with stunning scenery (the bay of Kotor in particular). Couple this up with the magnificent Celebration cruise ship and add in the food, drinks, entertainment, the attentive, hard working staff and being able to meet like minded people, this all equates to a complete cruise experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend this cruise to any prospective cruiser. Read Less

We have been on the celebration before so we knew what to expect. We flew from Gatwick on the Dreamliner and the self service check -in took about 5 mins. with no queuing. The plane arrived early and we were swiftly driven by coach to the cruise terminal. The check in for the cruise was different this year as it was done on the ship with no queuing at all. Our cases arrived outside our cabin within 20 mins. The Celebration still has its slight wobble but it did not affect us at all. Our cabin was a de-luxe on deck 8, very spacious with large double bed under the 2 windows, settee, chairs, bath with shower over it and spotlessly clean and kept that way by our cabin steward all week. We ate in the Lido (self service) for breakfast and lunch, and in the main dining room for evening dinner. Sometimes there were queues to get in but they moved very quickly and we only waited for 10 mins. at the most. The food in all the eating places was very good with quick service. We eat in Minstralls on one night and it was well worth the extra money. We went to the shows every evening which were good, and one night there was a comedian who was excellent, he did a further show at 11.30pm later in the week. It was an adults only cruise. We got off at every port we stopped at and just walked around and did our own thing except for Venice where we went on the island of Marano and Buarno trip which was very interesting. We were not asked at all to buy drinks packages, photos, spa treatments, etc. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we have already booked the Celebration again for next year. Read Less

My friend and I chose this cruise because it was affordable and went to places we hadn’t been to before. From the moment we handed over our suitcases at Gatwick we couldn’t fault the service we received. Neither of us had been on a sea cruise before so I admit we have nothing to compare it to but we both really enjoyed the whole experience. We liked the ship; some bits felt a bit tired but no more so than some hotels I’ve been to. The cabin (644 on deck 2) was fine. It was spacious enough for the 2 of us and there was plenty of storage space. It had a porthole which gave us a lovely view if the passing scenery. Everything was immaculately clean. We ate breakfast and lunch/ afternoon tea in the Lido buffet and our evening meal in the Meridien restaurant. The choice at all meals was really varied, designed to suit all tastes. Everything was well presented and tasty. The service from all the staff was impeccable. We went on excursions in Montenegro, Greece, Kefalonia, Sicily and Malta and really enjoyed them. Our couriers were all knowledgeable and made the trips special, even the Etna trip which took place in pouring rain. The entertainment in the evening was eclectic, from piano playing, to the shows and quizzes. We went to the shows in the Broadway Lounge and enjoyed them also; some were better than others. Martin Daniels, the comedy magician was brilliant and had us in stitches. During the day at sea we tried out some of the on-board activities like dancing and carpet bowls, again good fun and made enjoyable by the crew taking them. Everything was well organised, from arrival to departure, with coaches arriving on time and suitcases arriving safely. We would definitely go again. Read Less

The Marella Celebration itinerary was excellent as it included Venice, Dubrovnik and Korcular. Some of our favourite places. Marella is less formal than Cunard, uses Sterling and had a great all inclusive deal when we booked. We did a cruise and stay holiday staying on the island of Kolocep just 30 mins from Dubrovnik. This was our first time on the Celebration but we knew her sister ship, the Spirit very well. Our first impressions were very favourable as though the deck layout is almost identical there is a much more modern feel to the Celebration - less vestiges of her Holland America past. The main dining room food was excellent - we ate all our meals there as it’s so much relaxed experience than the Lido. The included drinks were good enough for the most of us though one of our friends who deals in wine thought the Cote de Rhône to be excellent and good value for money. There were no sea days on this cruise - and I do miss a good sea day to relax. I think all that can be said about the age of the ship has been said before. I love the teak decks and the fact she is easy to get around. What gives this ship her heart are the people who work on it, the value for money and the entertainment. We would certainly return if it was the right itinerary. A first for TUI Marella is a welcome back party for loyal cruisers. You have to go to reception to let them know you have cruised with Thomsons before to be eligible. Cunard contact you and know your status - so me thinks Thomson’s weren’t keeping this info. We even received a little badge! We really found no fault with anything on the ship apart from the embarkation process that takes place on the ship - Long long queues We always choose our cabins after studying the deck plan as we like to be central and not near noisy areas. I do think a deck plan should be given out at departure - like other cruise lines. We knew the layout but our friends hadn’t cruised before. The cabin numbers and decks don’t tally. We were on deck 8 bridge deck but cabin 075. Dining - we dined in the Meridian for most of our meals and were very pleased with the food (better than on the Spirit). We celebrated our anniversary in the Mistral Restaurant which was excellent. Not so impressed by the food in the Kora La - the service was excellent in all the places we ate. Ports of call Bari Montenegro- There is a free port transfer bus to Bar - we then took a taxi to Stari Bar. It cost 5€ agree the price first. Stari Bar is no Kotor but still worth a visit. Korcula - tender port. Lovely old town - birth place of Marco Polo. We went for a wine tasting in a local restaurant- god wine but very expensive. It seems that most wine is produced for local consumption only. Zadar - ship to town transfer costs £7 - drop off near the Sea Organ. Lovely town with Roman ruins and great atmosphere. Venice - Get up foe the sail in - it is so peaceful and the only time you see Venicecwithout the masses. There was no organised transfer to St Marks Square but possible to buy tickets for transfer once off the ship. We realise that there appears to be a hop on hop off water bus that may be worth using. We used the People carrier to take us to P le Roma near the Station. We made a mistake of getting a gondola from here. It costs €80 but not the most picturesque trip. Walk further on - there are plenty of gondola’s around in better settings. We followed the signs to the Rialto bridge. The streets/canals up unti this point are relatively quiet. We then visited St Marks Square. We have visited Venice before so wouldn’t have bothered visiting again as it is always heaving but our friends have not visited before. I would strongly suggest pre booking St Marks or Doge’s palace and trip to Guggenheim art gallery.Eat anywhere away from St Marks or Rialto. Trieste - short walk from ship to main shopping area. Hike up to the castle and church well worth it. Public transport runs up to the castle as well. Split - Diocletian palace and medieval town within is amazing - very game of thrones. Well worth a visit. Dubrovnik - We visited Dubrovnik at night on a sunset trip from Kolocep. We sailed into the old harbour - it was a fabulous trip. For those who are only cruising - the ship doesn’t sail till 10 pm so if you have the energy and inclination get the bus to the Pile gate and spend late afternoon/early evening there before she sails. My husband and I did this cruise as first time cruisers. I was never going on a cruise for a variety of reasons and chose this one because it was in the Adriatic Sea which isn’t as wide open as others so my theory was it may be calmer as sea sickness was a big concern. I also wanted to go to places I hadn’t been before and the only place I would be revisiting was Venice, which was fine as you can never visit Venice too many times. I had read that there is vibration in the ship and there is! We had an inside cabin on deck 3 and we could feel vibration but it didn’t affect us at all, we both slept well and did not feel any movement from the ship. There was no natural light in the cabin as it was an inside one but we weren’t in there much. For a longer cruise I would probably like a porthole at least. The air conditioning was good and the cabin didn’t feel at all stuffy. It was small but adequate. Ivon, our cabin steward was always available and very pleasant. We didn’t buy the drinks package and this was the right choice for us, we had whatever we wanted and it still cost around half of what the package would have been, however, we don’t drink alcohol so this may have made a difference. The food was good, we always had our evening meal in Meridian as I like to be waited on. The menu was changed every day and there was always something we liked. The waiters were very attentive, sometimes we shared a table but we didn’t have to, you can request your own and wait a few minutes for one to become free. We had breakfast and lunch in the Lido restaurant and again the food was good and plates were cleared quickly. The pool areas were clean and we could always find a sunbed when we wanted, even on the day at sea. Entertainment was of a good standard but you could find a quiet area if you wanted to. We enjoyed all of the ports, the only disappointment was that we visited Ancona on a Sunday and as it’s in Italy it was pretty much closed. However you have to go somewhere on a Sunday and we found enough to occupy us. I am now almost converted, I didn’t love cruising in the way a lot of people do! But I will go on another cruise and would go on the celebration again if it was a cruise I wanted to do. All together we were very satisfied. Read Less

The cabin was cleaned every day and bed was turned down.. The ship was wonderful.. The food was amazing.. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Internet was OK in the right places fast enough.. Only in port tho... Some ports there was nothing to do if you weren't on a trip.. I've done lots of cruises I'd never do a hotel holiday again.. It's great seeing different places even when you're on a out at sea day its very relaxing.. Great weather boiling hot only rained once then it was still hot.. I'd definitely recommend tui cruises.. The shows every night were excellent.. Very comfortable sitting areas.. There was a disabled area that was helpful to some people.. The tender is easy to get on and off.. Read Less

I decided to book the Greek Mystique cruise as my wife has had surgery recently and really needed to recuperate and recover. After check in at Gatwick we didn't see our luggage again until delivered to our cabin I can not tell you how amazing that was not to have to face the hustle and bustle of the airport baggage carousels! I rater enjoyed the main resturaunt as they operate an open seating dining plan so we were able to dine with new people every evening, which when we usually cruise on Seabourn and Azamara we have a fixed table and dining companions for the duration of the cruise -so Marella has hit on a good idea on the occasions where one may be sitted on a dining table with 'cruise snobs'.Which in the past we have had to endure! We are retired although a young 59 and 61, we tend to book 4 cruises per year one for each season. We have one Seabourn and one Azamrara then 2 cheaper options which this year is Marella and Cruise & Maritime to try the other end of the market. The ship Celebration was old as described on CC.reviews, but it was perfectly clean and comfortable. We prefer to have waiter service at meals as my wife isn't always able to stand and queue for periods of time and apart from the very last morning when there was literally not a seat to be had this worked perfectly for us. Our cabin steward was superb so although tips are included we left him cash in an envelope cabin was cleaned and towels replenished twice daily. My wife purchased two Radley handbags which she said were great value. we are not drinkers so didn't opt for the AI Drinks package(due to my wife's medication). We did take excursions which although costly were not exhorbitant but much more importantly safe for my wife's comfort. We ate in Mistrals which was a delight -highly recommended especially drunken prawns delicious! The Ports of call were delightful especially KOTORin Mo ntenegro and sailing out of Dubrovnik at night ! STUNNING. keeping the best till last- just has to be the entertainment. THE showteam were leaving and a new team and Cruise Director was starting the week after we disembarked. They were amazing and the show Africa was wonderful. We really thought it couldn't get any better until Monday when the Guest Act came on to do his show. His name was Christopher Gee and he was superb, my wife laughed so much it was sheer joy to behold. And his comedy impressions were stunning-the thing we could't work out was how can every voice he did be so accurate and yet he even manages to look like each person he takes on. His Tommy Cooper had everyone in stiches, and his Eric Morecambe had us all fighting off a tear at the much loved comedian but the absolute hIghlight was his one man tribute to Dave Allen it was so perfect even down to him holding a whiskey glass with only half a forefinger, his attention to detail was astounding. He recieved a richly deserved standing ovation! The neXt night was his second show and there simply wasn't a seat to be had and extra chairs from the bars were brought in, but the show was totally different Alan Carr/Michael Macintyre/Ozzy/he also did an hilarious BORIS AND Donald Trump had us ill with laughter very up to date you could hear a pin drop and that was after midnight. He was very personable young man and told us he will be on Marella Dream later in the year so we are booking that one too! We love the shows and we don't watch a lot of comedians to be fair- but I just had to post this review as everyone is quick to complain but not always ready to say a big well done Marella for booking a comedian impressionist that did nor offend one single person no un PC material or smut involved just FUNNY!!! The entire ship was talking about him the next day. in all one has to commend Marella ,especially at their price point as I assure you we have got much less from paying 4 times more!!! Read Less

I just got back from cruising round Croatia and Italy this was my first cruise and I found the over all experience was totally amazing staff and crew bent over backwards to help you and the food was lovely always had a good variety to choose from even had burgers and snacks on if you just wanted something small to eat can't fault any part of my experience the bar staff where brilliant after a few days of being on board they knew what we wanted they where all very polite well mannered and would always try there best to get you what you asked for even though there was a language barrier however there where four bar staff on deck 6 (the promenade deck) there names are Arben, Zakhar,Dede, and Emillian they where a great bunch of guys who made my first cruise a memorable one as they all went that extra mile to help you and always made me smile no matter how I was feeling whether it was being hungover from the night before or just feeling tired they all brightened my day just by giving me a smile and basically doing what they are paid to do and that's to make sure the guests are happy and for that I would highly recommend the marella celebration cruise ship to my friends and family I will definitely be coming back on board again sometime . The cabins where spotless always kept clean didn't do any excursions as it was more of a relaxing holiday so my overall experience of my first cruise was 100% amazing Read Less

First time on a cruise & it certainly won't be the last. Our cases were taken at the airport & we didn't see them again until we got to our cabin. We were treated like royalty from the moment we got there. Short bus trip from airport to the ship & checking in was very swift & friendly. We were all inclusive & the drinks were plentiful so we didn't feel the need to upgrade our drinks package. The food was out of this world. We ate mainly in the Meridian Restaurant where the service was second to none. It was like dining in a very plush restaurant every meal time. The staff were a credit to the captain, so lovely & friendly and just wanted to ensure you were having the best time. There was one dessert we had that really was probably the most delicious desert that I have ever tasted & I told the waiter...only for him to bring me another one so I could enjoy it again! We had a few snacks in the Lido Restaurant which was their buffet eating area which was open pretty much all the time for food where you could eat indoor or outdoor. The food there was very good too with lots of choice. Hygiene was very important on the ship with hand sanitising machines in all the toilets, in the entrances to all the eating areas & dotted around the ship. We had a cabin with a balcony which was nice as we could retreat there & still enjoy the sun & also it was lovely to stand out there when leaving & coming into port. The cabin staff were brilliant too. Nothing was too much trouble, we had towel animals left each day which were really cute along with a chocolate on our pillow each night. We didn't do any of the planned excursions when in port, we just did our own thing, but it was pretty easy to have a "hop on, hop off" bus trip wherever we were. There was always plenty to do on board & I have to say the entertainment in the evening was out of this world, it was like going to a West End show every evening. Even the Captain was lovely. Made time to speak to any guests he met when he was around the ship. My only niggle (& it's a very small one) is that we had 2 photographs taken of us, one when we arrived on board & another taken of our group at the Captains meal & I decided it would be nice to buy them as a memento. We spoke to one of the photographers who was wandering around where the photos were displayed & said we'd like to buy the 2 photos, he told us we have to buy 3 photos as they're in a offer they were doing. I told him we'd only had 2 photos taken so there wouldn't be a 3rd we could buy & could we not just purchase the 2 we wanted & he told us we couldn't & walked off!!! I wasn't impressed as you know the photos are just going to be destroyed once we'd left so it seemed a bit mean we couldn't buy the 2 we wanted. He seemed very disinterested in us & had a "couldn't care less" attitude. Such a shame as everyone else on the ship was so friendly & helpful. We will definitely be booking another cruise with Marella & have been recommending them already. Read Less
