We had a great time on this cruise. Ports and entertainment were excellent. Celebrity ran many extra activities and gifts for elite members and above. The food was quite good. We enjoyed the Ocean View for breakfast and lunch and Select dining for dining. Staff was very attentive to all of our needs. Entertainers wonderful and so was Mickey live! The added Tango show added to the entire feel of the ports. We did several ship excursions and were especially happy we’re took the one that took us to see the gauchos with lunch and dropped us at the airport for our late flight.Be prepared, excursions in South America are expensive. The only negative, that kept me from giving an extra star was the embarkation in Buenos Aires. The terminal was overcrowded, we had to shuttle bus quite a distance and when we got to the ship then the climb up the erector set ramp was terrible. Since we overnighted, the next day we had to repeat the ramp and bus, this time sitting in traffic over half an hour to return. Read Less

This was our first cruise to South America. Crossing the Equator to the southern hemisphere is a unique experience. The 16 night itinerary from Barcelona to Buenos Aires included several ports of call we’ve never visited, and the cost was reasonable. We’ve sailed on the Eclipse several times, and were not concerned with getting bored on many days at sea. We arrived in Barcelona after a 2 night stay in Lisbon. We used the convenient Aerobus from the airport to Placa Catalunya and walked from there to Hotel Andante. We met cruisemates from the roll call for a pre-cruise dinner and afterwards still managed to squeeze a visit to the Picasso Museum on a free evening. Next morning we had a 10 minute walk to board the T3 Port Shuttle (€3 each) for the short ride to Terminal “C”. We arrived around noon, hoping to attend the Concierge lunch in the Dining room. However, the embarkation process was a total disaster with long lines and short on processing staff. The “priority line” for Concierge Class took us 2 hours, moving at a snails’ pace because it was merged with all the other passengers at the finish line. So we missed the Concierge lunch, and it’s the first time our luggage arrived at our cabin before us. Not a promising start, topped by an automated phone message in our cabin from the Concierge welcoming us aboard and trusting we experienced smooth embarkation. Since there were so many Spanish-speaking guests, all announcements were also made in Spanish and Portuguese. Our cruise director Alejandro from Argentina also repeated every phrase in Spanish, but he is such a fun guy that we didn’t mind at all. Most of the crew members were eager to please. Cabin: Our C2 Concierge balcony cabin #1062 was well insulated from noise in adjoining cabins. Bed by the bath, and no inside cabins across the corridor. Meals: We had pre-booked Select Dining at 6:45pm. Sometimes we would share a table and other times it was just us two. Our waiter Jorge and assistant Emilio did a flawless and well synchronized job. Since we are Elite members, we were able to enjoy our “happy hour” drinks in the main dining room before 7:00 pm along with our dinner. The Oceanview Café was offering good variety with daily international food themes, but they still have no onion rings and the tasty oatmeal cookies have been discontinued. We dined in Qzine Le Petit Chef for the first time, and were not impressed. We liked the old concept better. We asked twice about a “coffee card” at the Café Al Baccio on the first day and were told they were not being offered. We were told to buy the non-alcoholic beverage package. On the last day we met people who said they bought the coffee cards and enjoyed using them. Celebrity needs to ensure the staff is properly advised on these offers, and they should be better publicized. Entertainment and activities: There were a number of pretty decent headliner entertainers, but none stood out as exceptional. The production shows were also average, a repeat of our Eclipse cruise in the Baltic earlier this year. The aerialists performers and the Tango duo Victor and Denisa who presented tango and gaucho shows were both informative and entertaining. The speakers (Beyond The Podium) were excellent. MickeyLive’s talks about the ports and navigation, Ian Wright about the early years of British superstars and Beth, on the history of South American countries. Shopping was pretty lame, with a narrow range of products and overabundance of watches. Captain’s Club Elite benefits were nice and we enjoyed having two hostesses, Elizabeth and Melissa. Tuscan Grill breakfast was overcrowded so the overflow was directed to Qzine. But the one issue I have is the internet benefit. What ‘s the logic of getting the same number of internet minutes (90) whether you are on a 7 night or a 16 nights cruise? The dynamic Alejandro the Cruise Director kept things rolling along with his quirky snipes at the Argentine way of life, the best looking people and best soccer players. We reconnected with old friends, met new ones, and enjoyed our six nights post cruise in Buenos Aires. Disembarkation was well organized due to advance passport clearance by immigration authorities. Taxi rates outside the terminal are overpriced. We walked to the end of the line, ignoring the approaches of the drivers. Prices kept dropping from $20, $15 as we kept walking away, finally agreed on $10 to our hotel. In summary, this was a very enjoyable Transatlantic sailing with pleasant weather and calm seas. The ports were interesting and the service highly accommodating. Read Less

Chose this cruise because it was a Repositioning cruise to S. America. Spent 4 days in Barcelona, exploring the city and enjoying all that it has to offer. Embarkation was quite crowded, but the lines moved smoothly. We had outstanding service on the Eclipse, both cabin attendants and dining staff were attentive and very friendly. Cabins were adequate and were in excellent shape. Our cruise director Alejandro, was entertaining and involved with the Activities and entertainers. Throughout the ship, we experienced personnel that were motivated and always willing to assist. We chose Celebrity for an excursion in Lancerotta in the Canary Islands, not disappointed very interesting 4 hour tour of this Volcanic island. I was not impressed with the port in Santos, Brazil. Not worth the stop, I would recommend that Celebrity substitute Montevideo,Uraguay, more interesting. Very impressed with Cartagena, Spain and Buenos Aries, Argentina. I have been on 7 Celebrity cruises, this ranks near the top! Read Less

We were traveling with friends and my friend found the cruise. We had traveled on Celebrity before so we decided to go. We were concerned about the number of sea days but that was never a problem. There was plenty to do onboard. The staff was excellent from our room steward, Pablo, to the servers in the dining room and specialty restaurants. The entertainment was the best of any cruise we have taken. We love the live music and the shows. The ship’s public areas were spotless. The only problem we encountered was disembarking at ports. The wait was ridiculous with long lines waiting in hot corridors. There also was too little help for handicapped people getting on buses. Overall it was a great time. I would recommend it wholeheartedly. The food was very good especially in Murano’s specialty restaurant. Quisine was different and the food better than expected. It is more of a novelty restaurant. We chose this cruise as we liked the itinerary and we have cruised with Celebrity twice previously on the Equinox. Embarkation was fast and we were greeted warmly with a glass of sparkly as soon as we were on the ship. Our cabin was spacious, well equipped and had a decent sized balcony. Everything was perfect from the moment we set sail until we docked back in Barcelona! We have cruised with several cruise lines but Celebrity is definitely one of our favourites as they consistently offer excellent service, food and cleanliness. So many of the cruise lines are lowering standards, cutting down on food quality and quantity etc but we didn't see any evidence of any serious cost cutting. We like the mix of so many nationalities among the passengers and enjoyed meeting lots of interesting people. We had select time dining in the main restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed every meal with 1st class friendly service and no waiting for a table as we had booked our chosen time prior to boarding the ship. The menu choices, quality and presentation of the dishes were delightful. We chose to dine in the same area each night as the team there were so efficient and informative re the menu. 10/10 for quantity and quality! Previously we haven't found the entertainment on Celebrity to be too inviting and have spent time enjoying watching the talented bartenders in The Martini Bar! However, on this cruise we thoroughly enjoyed most of the theatre evenings and combined them with a visit to The Martini Bar! There were also excellent performances by artistes in other areas of the ship. Clearly entertainment is a personal choice and some shows appeal more than others. Full marks to Celebrity for putting 2 extra matinee shows on in the theatre on sea days. I thoroughly enjoyed the various talks given on sea days and noted that lots of different nationalities were enjoying the well organised quizzes etc. The staff on board were excellent and worked tirelessly. The standard of cleanliness throughout the ship was amazing. The library is a lovely quiet area to relax and has a good selection of books. Prior to our disembarkation 23rd November the ship was looking beautiful with stunning Christmas decorations tastefully placed around creating a fabulous ambience. Finally, the photographers were there for those who wanted them but did not, as on so many cruises, interrupt meals etc and constantly push their service. Can't wait to book another Celebrity cruise! We are a couple - late 40s/early 50s. We have 2 previous cruises under our belt - 7 nights fjords with P&O and 15 night TA with Princess. We picked this cruise primarily for the itinerary - and it also came at a great price. We were on Celebrity Eclipse - Cabin 1046 - Concierge Class and had Anytime dining. Barcelona Embarcation - incredibly messy - no-one appeared to stick to their embarkation time - although there were separate lines for each "class" they alll used the same check in desks - no dedicated ones. Although this went relatively quickly it just seemed a bit of a mess. Dis-embarcation - great experience. We had a late departure time, and were off with our cases within 5 minutes - perfect! We were able to get into our cabin by 1330 - as advised. However there were issues as DH found an apple under the bed and there was a left over "scrunchie" left hanging in the shower. Concierge lunch - a nice touch. We found it a shame that there was no sailaway party - everyone just wandered about, drink in hand :-( The ship was spotlessly clean and nothing seemed worn out or tired. I did feel sorry for the bathroom attendants who didnt ever seem to get any daylight - they did work very hard. What a great itinerary - every port was absolutely fantastic. We booked 2 excursions with our OBC - Florence by train and Rome in a day. Both were very well organised and our Rome guide was absolutely fantastic. We had the classic drinks package included - this worked well for us as we are not big drinkers. DH made use of the speciality coffees and we had the odd cocktail. We mostly stuck to the $9 drinks and found the wine perfect for us. We went to the shows on 3/4 nights - very professional and a good way to spend 45 minutes. We had 2 major issues with Celebrity as a whole however. 1 - the constant attempts to sell the speciality restaurants (and the spa to a lesser extent). If your restaurant is not selling at an additional $55 a person there is a reason for that!! 2 - the food. We love a formal night and eating in the MDR but are as equally happy in the buffet. But oh my - what a let down they both were. The buffet - the food was the same EVERY DAY - nothing inventive at all. The pasta/mexican/oriental/pizza/grill sections were the same every lunch and dinner. There "Italian night" consisted of a spread of cured meats/olives etc - but this selection also appeared on other nights as well. There was one different item each lunchtime and evening. It might seem like im being picky but honestly we are very easy to please. They did a fish pie one lunchtime at it was the best thing we ate the whole cruise!! As for the MDR again we were very disappointed. We LOVE to dress for dinner and using the MDR is a big part of a cruise for us. However again the menu was very repetitive and nothing special or inventive. In our view they kept the menu like this to push people towards the speciality restaurants. On the last chic night we saw that there were soufflés for desert. They weren't on the desert menu. Our waiter told us that usually they only serve souffles at the speciality restaurants and never in the MDR. On both P&O and Princess souffles were a standard addition to the menu. We were on anytime dining. We also found that the tables for 2 were stuck in the corners and out of the way. On our 3rd night were were being again ushered towards an out of the way table when we passed an empty 4 seater table set up for 2. This was right in the hussle and bussle of the restaurant - when we asked if we could sit there the waitress got all flustered and said she would have to go and check - leaving us standing in the middle of the dining room for several minutes. We then decided to just sit at the table anyway - just as well we did as she never returned! We also never saw anyone in the Sushi restaurants - again they charge extra for this. Our favourite place was the Level 5 Cafe al Baccio - what a lovely place to sit and pass the time - just a shame that it appears to be the most popular venue but also the smallest!!! We also booked Concierge class as it was the same price as a standard balcony. Again - what a waste of time and I dont know why they bother with it. The afternoon canapés are a complete waste of time and we poured the "champagne" down the sink. Other than the embarkation lunch I can find absolutely no benefit to concierge class. Everyone we talked to prior to the cruise hailed Celebrity as far better than both P&O/Princess so this is what we were expecting. I glad we picked the cruise for the itinerary rather than just because it was Celebrity otherwise it would have been a great let down. It have been very critical of the dining issues - however we had a really great time overall. We would use Celebrity again but the itinerary and the price would have to be right. Read Less

The itinerary was the reason for choosing this cruise. Having sailed on 3 other Solstice class ships, we wanted to sail on Eclipse and were not disappointed! Celebrity has come through again with stupendous service from check-in through disembarkation. This ship was refurbished and it shines. Cleanliness and service is a hallmark. Our cabin was great with an attentive stateroom attendant and our dining experience each night was met with a smiling waiter, assistant waiter and sommelier. We only scheduled one shore excursion with the cruise line due to no other alternative in Zadar, Croatia. All other ports, we scheduled tours through Viator, ItalyTours.EU and Costco. These tours provided a better alternative due to timing, cost, and significantly fewer passengers. Most tours were 8-16 people, much better with logistics. There was never a worry in returning to the port on time. The entertainment seems to improve with each trip. The guest speakers were interesting and provided a good diversion during sea days. The Eclipse orchestra along with the Celebrity singers, dancers, and acrobats were outstanding. Other smaller venues were good as well. The only disappointing venue was the Hollywood Glass Show. Previously under the auspices of Corning, these shows were continual demonstrations of glass creations and ultimately sold for charity. The current show is obviously for revenue. Suggestion: do your homework for shore excursions and book a cruise while onboard, it provides flexibility for future travel and all questions can be answered face to face. Read Less

Itinerary was promising, but disappointed by 2 days in Dubrovnik, when 2 days in Naples, Malta or Civitavecchia would have been better. Another disappointing feature was the impression that Celebrity is always trying to get extra charges wherever possible. The ship provides virtually no help whatsoever to those passengers who do not want to take their very overpriced tours. The entertainment was by and large good and at times excellent, but the show company was much less successful. The show company orchestra was superb. The food in the buffet at breakfast and lunch was very good, but the food at dinner in the main restaurant was a bit hit and miss, at times excellent but occasionally very poor. The chef's ambitious descriptions on the menu were not always matched by what was on the plate. One unfortunate aspect of the cruise was how noisy it generally was. There were several groups of friends who seemed to find it impossible to talk to each other without shouting. The design of the ship also contributed to the noise levels. When music groups were playing in the central atrium, the music was funneled upwards to the open areas above, including many bars and the library, meaning that all conversations had to be louder than was comfortable. As a positive, the staff in the restaurants, bars and the cabin were excellent. On the other hand, the cruise director was poor. I have never been on a cruise where the audience flooded out of the theatre while the cruise director was speaking at the end of the show. He seemed more interested in showing off than in communicating interesting or useful information. Read Less

The Eclipse is a beautiful ship , the cabins are very good ( not very clean in our case). The waiters in the Passport bar where a large step above the rest. Our waiter in the restaurant was good too. The quiz master was a young girl that had no idea about hosting a Trivia the worst of all our cruises we love Trivia and for us it was a major disappointment. The choice of ports fantastic exepting maybe for Zadar that wasn't at all tourist friendly. Nothing major just lots of little problems that didn't got solved, it didn't ruined our cruise but didn't made us want to repeat with Celebrity. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the ports and for the fact that we would embark and disembark in Barcelona (one of our favourite cities). We had a few glitches on the first day but after that everything fell into place and the rest of the cruise was wonderful. When we booked the only OV cabin available was 3174 and we were worried that it would be noisy but we had no problems throughout the cruise. Our stateroom attendant (Nasveeta) was most attentive and we had no issues with our room. We found that the Ocean View lunchtime buffet food had improved considerably since our Silhouette cruise two years ago. The choices were excellent especially of local cheeses, salami etc The evening meals in the MDR ( Moonlight Sonata) were very good and if I chose something not to my taste it was quickly replaced. The service was very attentive. We dined once in Tuscan Grill which was fine but not as good as I remembered on the Silhouette. The service was probably no better than the MDR and it was very difficult to attract the attention of the sommelier. On the other hand, we had an amazing meal in Murano with the most attentive service from the waiter and the sommelier. We could not have hoped for more. We were "wowed" by the variety of entertainment/shows though we did not enjoy the two bands ... The Badness were too loud (for our tastes). We were very lucky to have Gilly and the Girl on the cruise and we went to nearly all of their sets and shows - very talented, engaging and playing music that we really enjoyed. We occasionally heard Sashi (guitarist) - very enjoyable and the string duet who were lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed all the shows by the guest entertainers ( except the hypnotist and I didn't find anyone who enjoyed his show). The productions shows were mostly amazing. We struggled occasionally to find drinks/wine at the level of our packages but by visiting several bars we eventually managed to find something we liked (Thank you to Sedat, Dipil, Lewin, Roldan and, especially Ganesh who truly went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy and had everything we wanted). In Elizabeth we think we have found the best Captain's Club host we have encountered for a long time. She was everywhere, greeting and chatting with guests and, making all feel welcome and appreciated. We did not take any X shore excursions but explored on our own. We particularly appreciated the overnight in Dubrovnik and the opportunity to be there in the evening when most of the tour groups had left and the lights came on and it was magical! Read Less

I had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and I wanted to utilise the time whilst I was fit. It covered the Aegian coast which we had talked about visitin several times, it was likely to be warmer than England and originally we hoped to see Barcelona before embarking. As for the boat. I personally thought the ship was a little too large and space had been sacrificed to squeeze in more cabins. This meant that the majority of sitting space was in a corridor, or though the library was superb. The lifts were excellent, as was the food. We were on table 200 in the dining room and could not have had better service anywhere. On that point we thouhgt the entire staff always looked immaculate and were always friendy and helpful.. The entertaiment was patchy but on a long trip like this it would be difficult to win them all. On the whole it was a very high standard. The resident actors were extremely talented but their shows appeared to be a ' variation on a theme',exept the evening the did 'Songs from the Shows'. I was unable to go ashore very much but judging from the information given when booking there appeared to be a wide selection of options to suit all tastes. I was also very impressed how you pointed out any difficultiea that might be a problem to some people. All in all it was a very enjoyable trip with very little to grumble about. The whole thing went like clockwork. I will continue to be an advocate of cruises as the best value for money when it comes to holidaying. Read Less

We chose the cruise because it had a good itinerary. We weren’t disappointed. While there were occasional blips in the dining service the staff was very accommodating and working to do their best. We didn’t feel that the upselling of merchandise was too prevalent but there was a big push to get you to book the specialty restaurants. We enjoyed the ‘anytime dining’ because we were able to meet people from all over the world. We mainly did shore excursions that were not through Celebrity as the Celebrity groups were much too large.. It would be nice to have cheaper laundry or self serve laundry like on Royal Princess. The cost for laundry was incredibly high. Wifi is also a huge expense. It would be great to see cruise companies work on reducing this. We just experienced our first Celebrity Cruise ( after more then 20 cruises and as a Diamond Plus Member of Royal Carribean ). We travelled in a Sky-suite aft with 4 perks included ( premium beverage package, unlimited Wifi, prepaid gratuities and a onboard credit of 150 Usd per person ). Taking into account the amount paid this was a very great value for money. The overal service level is outstanding. Most of our meals were taken in the "Luminae" restaurant ( for suite residents ). The menu is less elaborated than the one in the main restaurant but the items proposed and served are excellent ( if you want, you may choose also from the main restaurant menu ). This is combined with a excellent wine choice proposed by the expert sommelier and a friendly efficient waiter service. We had also dinner at Qsine and experienced the " Little Chef " dinner show. A must ( don't forget to negotiate with the specialty restaurant sales on board.... for all of them you will get 30 to up to 50% discount of the announced rates ). The Murano meal is excellent but the atmosphere and service did not reach the level of the other restaurants. It's staff should serve in a lesser automatic drive. We attended two shows with excellent singers, dances and orchestra. Towards the end of the cruise, the music director found the better formula and orchestra to entertain the guests in the Atrium. We definitely enjoyed the cruise and the Celebrity experience. But we had one issue ... shopping on board.....We were attracted by on offer of a Stuhrling ladies watch at a " up to 75 % discount of the tag price" which was 995 Usd. We had to pay 140 Usd. However after we bough this watch, we checked Sturhling's website.... There is no ladies watch at more than 200 Usd in their portfolio, and the watch we bought is shown on the Sturhling site at 90-95 Usd before a discount of 15%. We consider the sale by Celebrity's vendor as fraudulent as the price tag shows a highly inflated price and even with the so called discount the amount to pay was still 50% higher than the normal price setting. Moreover, being very upset by the matter the whole story caused an intimidating warning meeting onboard ( by the way we did not accept their proposed match pricing and returned the watch with full refund ). So be aware for the so called " up to xx% discount " at the ships shops.... It's a regrettable that this experience ( caused by acompany contracted by Celebrity Cruises ) is overshadowing an otherwise excellent cruise Read Less

This was our 4th Celebrity Solstice class ship. We have done Silhouette, Reflection, and Equinox before sailing Eclipse. Of all our previous cruises aboard Celebrity, our vacation aboard the Eclipse had the least "pop" of any of our previous sailings. Embarkation from Barcelona was a breeze. Our cab from our hotel dropped us directly at the check in area and we were aboard within 15 minutes! Emails from Celebrity urging us to delay our embarkation until our pre-assigned time later in the afternoon were wisely ignored, our early arrival went unnoticed. Our "boarding buzz" was quickly extinguished when we stepped onto the ship. Numerous crew members approached us asking about upgrading our beverage package and/or purchase speciality dinning offers. I understand that this is a common complaint from Celebrity passengers and that this sales approach has not been changed by Celebrity after a lot of passenger complaints. The cruise itinerary was fantastic. The crew was very friendly and engaging. Our fellow passengers were great, always willing to chat or share a smile. Despite some of the shortcomings listed below, in no way did they spoil our cruise. The ports that we visited and the people that we met on board and on our private port tours made our trip a rewarding experience. First of all, the food in the dining room was just ho-hum. The food selections were of average "cruiser fare". At times, the food arrived cold or not up to the proper temperature. To be expected from the MDR. I am sure this would not be the case in some of the other dining venues. Had better on other cruises with Celebrity. In addition to the quality of the MDR food, our wait staff in the dining room, while very friendly to us and other tables, sometimes delivered the wrong starter item or were unavailable to respond to our requests. Our wait staff also spent considerable effort to make us aware that a rating of 8 stars or below would land them in hot water and made it clear that we understood how cut-throat their bosses could be when confronted with "bad" reviews. This has happened on other cruises. This seems to be the standard story that you can sometimes get from room attendants and wait staff. A little less of this would be good! Secondly, the music in the Deck 3 Atrium, next to the Passport bar, was below Celebrity's usual high standard. The bands that played there seemed listless or flat, or maybe it was me, not sure. Again, not a big deal but on other Celebrity cruises this area was where we started and ended our evenings. This time, we were glad to get out of this area and not spend to too much time there. The Eclipse was doing a TA after our cruise and I cannot imagine having to depend on this entertainment to get me through 16 nights of a TA. OMG! Other people we talked to said that the entertainment was good. Just a matter of taste. Whatever. And thirdly, the prices for Celebrity's shuttles into town, at some ports, were shamelessly inflated. Prior to booking the cruise there is never any mention of where and when a passenger might have to shell out for a shuttle. Oops, I guess I should've done more research about how Celebrity might try to get me to open my wallet at those ports. Shame on me! All done. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable cruise and would certainly return to Celebrity and would highly recommend cruising out of Barcelona to the Adriatic to any of my friends, family, or colleagues. Thanks Celebrity. See you in Singapore in 2020! Read Less

We had a two day pre Barcelona with this cruise. Embarkation a little slow long lines celebrity need to fix this. Sailed on a different line and Everything done by computer from your passport to your boarding picture and credit card. The ship was very nice and clean the cabins were also neat and clean. Entertainment was just ok for me nothing special. Activities were plentiful and fun. Service was excellent. We had first dining time and felt a little rushed but the food was excellent so were our servers. We use outside excursions that we like better than the ones the ship provides. We met many wonderful new people and enjoyed this cruise immensely one of the best cruises next to the river cruises we did last year. Great itinerary would have loved a another seaday maybe next time we will take a transition cruise back home to Florida. Read Less

I can't say enough about this cruise line. Amazing! amazing! amazing.! We have always vacationed at all-inclusive resorts and never considered a cruise as we are a very active couple and felt we would feel "caged" on a cruise. I am so glad we gave this a chance and chose Celebrity for our first cruise. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we felt like we were the only ones on the ship. The food was amazing and there was something to suit even the pickiest eater (me being that person). We didn't eat in any of the specialty restaurants as we were very happy with the dining room and excellent service we received each night. The only complaint I have was the running track. Although you could run on it, it was also the main thoroughfare to the buffet so it was too busy to run on:( Other than that- Well done Celebrity! We have just booked our 2nd cruise with Celebrity! My favourite destination in the Mediterranean is Turkey and I thought that my next cruise through the Mediterranean would include ports of call in Turkey. This cruise was off my radar but a friend invited us to attend and we are so glad that we were able to enjoy the itinerary. Weather was rainy and windy when we arrived in Barcelona 2 days pre-cruise. Our international flight was poor, so we were in rough shape to take in a walking tour of Barcelona the same afternoon, so we excused ourselves when the rain wouldn't let up. We took a half day tour of Barcelona on the day of embarkation offered by Spanish Day Tours and they conveniently dropped us off at the terminal. Very good tour, we needed a transfer to the terminal anyways and a few extra hours touring Barcelona before embarkation was a nice bonus! Embarkation was smooth and timely. The ship is in excellent shape, nice layout and easy to orient yourself to the main venues. My favourite spots: Cafe el Bacio, great baristas and attentive servers. Moonlight Sonata, the main dining room - consistently excellent, cuts of meat prepared very well, seafood/fish tend to be a little overdone. Superb service and menu choices. Couldn't say no to their excellent desserts, maybe some of the best I have ever had. The Ocean View Cafe (buffet) layout was a little confusing, during peak times the crush of people made service slower and harder to move around and find a table. I had some issues about food handling by some passengers and the ship was very quick to acknowledge my concerns. Captain Leo and Cruise Director Alejandro - very personable, very approachable and funny. Maybe the best Cruise Director we've ever had. You can check out his Facebook page. He just works plain hard to make his passengers happy and entertained. Main entertainment is quite good, better than other cruise lines that I have experienced recently. Overall service is excellent and very staff are very friendly. We booked mainly "free" walking tours in the ports of Spain. They on average were very good. John Lopez Gibraltar private van tour was excellent. Good private walking tour in Marseille. We booked Celebrity tours in Villefranche, Florence, Civitavecchia & Naples. There were too many tours ending at the same time in Villefranche that overloaded the tenders. Of course, that's when the rain and winds picked up and there was not enough cover to wait for the next tender. Kudos to ship staff in trying to keep passengers comfortable. We knew that excursions offered by the ship tend to be quite crowded but that's the price to pay for convenience. That does affect the tour quality. We enjoyed the trip to the ruins of Herculaneum, the others were just poor to average at best. It was an excellent cruise and vacation and I would be happy to sail on any future Celebrity sailings. We flew in on the 29th, Celebrity arranged ride from airport to ship. We arrived at ship just before noon. Boarding process was easy and went smoothly. Everything from start to finish was excellent. Even the weather operated. Cabin etc. I'll comment below. The bottom line is we totally enjoyed ourselves. The Crew lead by Captain Leo made us feel like family and they wanted us to be part of theirs. It was an excellent experience. Entertainment was top notch. Some people say the ship is dated. We did not find it that way. Yes it is older but it is well looked after. We used Select Dining and it really worked for us. Depending on what excursion we were on the did not have to rush for a specific time to eat. We did not try the specialty dining but were told it was excellent. Café (coffee stop) was very good and relaxing at the end of the day. The Buffet had a wide variety of food and was good. The lounges were good and the drinks excellent. On this ship there is always something going on and if you wish you are more than welcome to join in. As I said this one was one of the best we have been on and Celebrity should be commended for the excellent staff and Captain Leo. He was everywhere ensuring all had a great cruise. IT WAS A GREAT CRUISE. Read Less

We were blown away by Euphoria We were on a back to back from Barcelona 11/10 and will review that separately as there are big differences in entertainment Cruise director was accessible, visible, funny and enthusiastic Ports did not dissapoint . We had been to Florence and the HoHo in Livorno was fun The HoHo in Naples allowed to go to the Archeological Museum, that is a MUST Civitavechia is a neat walkable town and the shuttle from port was free Read Less

We had excellent service from the time we checked in at the dock until the time we walked off the ship. The ship is beautifully appointed as all the S class ships are. One addition to this ship was La Petite Chef at the Qsine site. Although we would probably only do this once, it is well worth that one time, very entertaining and the food is great. Our cruise had an ambitious itinerary with only 2 days at sea out of a 12 night cruise. The ports were great choices and we chose to stay on the ship at one port we had previously spent time in. Our first stop was Valencia and we stayed on the ship, second was the town of Alicante and it was easy to get a shuttle to the end of the port and then pick up HOHO bus right there (discounted for seniors). The Santa Bárbara Castle sits above the city and the bus was able to navigate very narrow roads to the top, it is well worth the price of the bus just for this view. Another stop we made was at the Central Market, a great place to stop. Our next port was Malaga and we had chosen a private excursion to go to Granada and visit the Alhambra. Totally amazing. Every port had something unique and interesting to explore. The restaurants on board were fantastic and never disappointed us. The thing that stands out for us on Celebrity is the quality of service and how much the staff is committed to making sure you have a great holiday. Read Less

Captain Leo was so approachable and it was nice to see him with the staff and the guest and also enjoying the shows. The cruise director was the best we have had from 11 cruises. Alejondro was so goo and funny and made each day enjoyable. The cabin was always clean and at dinner we had very good service. Up on deck 14 , out of 12 night the buffet was only crowded one time with only waiting maybe about 2 minutes. Each day for breakfast and lunch you can just go get what you wanted without a wait,( very well planned out). For all the 12 night we had a different show each night and totally enjoyed each one. Thank you for giving us fun and luxury. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we have sailed with Celebrity and 3 other companies and Celebrity was the best. One company we had a suite, Celebrity we had level 6 and this time level 3 and enjoyed our cruise experience at a 10/10 . Here’s why. 1. Incredible helpful staff at all levels. Nothing too much to help with. 2. Super Captain Leo’s is the most incredible mix of professionalism, fun, humour and kindness making his presence obvious. His officers are the same. At Level 3 cruisers we were treated like a million dollar customers. 3. the Shiws, guest entertainers incredible. The Production cast (oct 29 2018. What an incredible cast of talent. 4. The Cruise Director Angentina you did well. He is a master of brilliance and energy. 5. Food omg at every level from Oceanview to the incredible service and cuisine st the speciality dining 6. Cabin. We stayed level 3. Wow it was better than what we have received on level 9 with some cruise companies. We were very happy. 7. Gym. What an incredible place. Great staff 8. Theatre. The only thing better were the Shiows. An incredible mix world star standArd performers. We have attended all levels of entertainment in land so feel equipped to appraise. 9. Rest rooms. Cleaned to perfection. 10. Go on a back behind the scenes tour. An incredible look at how much hard work goes on. And a good look that systems and cleanly is throughout. And a massive call out to the waiters and bar staff. You all were so professional and fun Congratulations to everyone on Eclipse 29/10/2018 Read Less
