This is our 10 th cruise and first MSC we chose because of Split, Santorini and Venice and pricing. we had low expectations based on online reviews and we were impressed so much we will take another MSC in Carrebian in Decemeber 2019. Francisco, the restaurant Manager, Herman Fernandis, the Chef and all Waiters in restaurant provided excellent service to our group of 20. Chef cooked a special dietary breakfast and dinner for 4 in our group that we would not have expected from other major cruise line. Even the cafeteria staff is excellent and maintain cleanliness. Mykonos was cancelled due to high winds considering safety- a right thing to do. Talented entertainment programs in the theater. Cabin size and cleanliness were better than some older ships in other cruise lines. Overall our entire group enjoyed the 7 night cruise and no one had any major complaint. Glad we selected this ship and did not pay much attention to bad reviews. Read Less

I originally heard about MSC from a work colleague and this is now our 3rd time with them. I cannot recommend them more highly. I had read one or two negative comments before booking the Sinfonia trip but I honestly think it is wonderful. On all accounts our trip could not have been better. Everything was done to perfection. The customers were from many different parts of the world and were friendly, family people of all ages. The cabin was excellent. It was well equipped with an en suite, fridge, hairdryer and security box and the bed was really comfy. The room was attended to not once, but twice every day. It was spotlessly clean. All staff were polite and cheerful, even if they passed in the corridor. They held doors open, smiled, said hello and attended immediately to any requests. Food was in great, free flowing supply and to suit all tastes. We especially liked the t bone steaks one evening. All facilities were excellent and well planned and the evening shows were splendid. What talent! Live music in lots of bars and public spaces every evening was also really enjoyable. Every day we were given a newsletter to tell us about what was on the following day and to arrange times and places for all events. We went on a trip to Santorini which could not have been better organised or more enjoyable. We also got off the ship at all the ports and felt that the security arrangements were very good but not intrusive. MSC cruises are not the dearest or most upmarket but they are fantastic and great value for money. Well done! Read Less

I am rating this cruise Excellent, basically due to the Itinerary. You are in Venice, Split, Santorini, Mykonos, Dubrovnik, Ancona, and back to Venice. Here are the pluses of the cruise ship. It's a smaller cruise ship compared to the "mega ships" out there today, and that's the type of ship I personally like. I do not care for the super large ships. It reminded me of old world cruising. The ship is not new, but it was very clean and well maintained for the most part. The international flavor/mix of the guests on board, we particularly enjoyed. Although language could be an issue at times, but we did find some english speaking folks on board from the UK, Ireland, Australia, etc. Quite nice. At first, once I studied the ports of call, I was concerned there was not enough time in each of them (after all, we always want "more") but to be honest, it all worked out quite fine. Even with the shorter time in Mykonos. The times we had to tender and or dock, were well organized and were very seamless. Embarkation was a little clustered, we got there shortly after 12noon, and apparently so did everyone else :) After about 30 minutes, the lines moved and it was much more organized. We were onboard about 1pm give or take. Our Cabin was just about ready at that time, and we met our Cabin Attendant...he told us to come back in about a 1/2 hour and he'd have our cruise cards for us. Sure enough he did. In the meantime, they had a buffet open up on Deck 11, so we went up there, grabbed a bite and went to the Capri Bar (which turned out to be our favorite bar on the ship). We got to know the Bartenders and Servers right away, and they became best buddies before you knew it. They would see us coming and no matter how busy they were, they would always sneak us our drinks before others.(We did tip them from time to time but we were also very nice to them. As you can imagine, not all guests are pleasant. Anyway, after we got out cruise cards, we went down to the Reception desk and activated our cards with a credit card for any "extras". We did by the Drink Package (we got the middle package, for we didn't need the top shelf) and it turned out to be a wise choice. I strongly suggest if you enjoy your adult beverages. The prices (for those who do not want to buy a package, were averaging 6.50 Euros per drink. With the drink package, all beverages were comped, ie: bottled waters, soft drinks, cappuccinos/espressos, etc. Cabin- We were on Deck 10, cabin 1096, balcony. I strongly suggest Balcony cabins if you can afford them. It adds to the space of your cabin and with such beautiful scenery to take advantage of, we utilized the balcony a lot. The bathroom was a standard cruise ship bathroom. The shower was a little challenging for a 6'2 guy, but I managed. There's plenty of storage space for luggage, drawers, nightstands, etc. The cabin has both 110 volt and 220 volt electric current. The bathrooms have a built in hair dryer. There was a TV in the room, fairly good choice of programs if you wanted to chill in the cabin. Overall, not a bad sized cabin. I would of liked to upgrade to a suite so we could have a sitting area, however, we survived. Dining-Now, we had chosen the "your choice" dining for the dining rooms. We only ended up using it for one night, on "Gala Night". We were using the Buffet up on Deck 11 95% of the time. We went for the Gala night, the dining room was quite nice and that old world style, but the meal was a bit lack-luster. The portions were quite small and the dessert, for a gala dinner lacked imagination. So, after dinner, we went back up to the Buffet! We found that the Buffet had pretty much everything you could want. Somethings better than others, but over all, compared to other cruise lines I have been on, we really liked it. They also have a cafeteria style "Pizza station" and a Hamburger/Hotdog" station. They were quite popular and they worked out great if you wanted a quick snack (god forbid the buffet should be closed, haha). The only days the buffet was really crowded were the 2 At Sea days. Get there when it opens. They also had freshly tossed/prepared pasta stations available for lunch those 2 days at the Capri Bar. They were great! Entertainment- We didn't partake in any of the entertainment ie: theater stuff. We did enjoy the bands that played on deck though. Service- WE were nice to them and they were MORE than nice to us. We did witness some really rude behavior by people to some of the wait staff, just because that's how people are, and we felt bad. Think that's why we were extra nice. Proved to work out in our favor. We ordered room service for coffee/croissants each morning and they were always punctual if not a little early. Loved it. Ports- Shore Excursions. We are very seasoned travelers and like to just do things by ourselves, but the one excursion I wish we DID take advantage of was the tour of the Caves in Ancona. It looked really cool. Ancona (your last port) is a sleeply old shipping port, so there was not much to see in the town, although we found a nice place to enjoy some wine and tapas. In Split, we took advantage of a taxi offering a city tour for 30 euros, and it was all of an hour, we liked that. The other ports, we just walked around and entertained ourselves. Now, one thing I will tell you. The early arrival in Santorini, is a GOOD THING. Reason being, you have to wait in line for the Tram to the top. We were like the first tender off the ship, and we zipped right up to the top (it's 6 Euros) and had a nice late breakfast and had a amazing view overlooking the harbor and the sites of Santorini. There's a myriad of places. Anyway, reason being early was best, all of a sudden, you saw all these cruise ships coming. By the time we came back down from the tram ( we decided to go down around 1230pmish) and the line was insane to get UP the tram. MSC also had a nice touch at the boarding spot for the tender. They offered nice cold towels/waters/juices, while you waited. Lovely. The other ships i didn't see that. Mykonos! Although we arrived at around 7pmish, it was still light out. Plenty of time to walk around, enjoy the little village. We had a bite to eat, a a drink, then found a nightclub and a couple bars on the water front by where we came in. Jackie'O's was our favorite. We say outside and watch the people. It's a gay bar by the way and we are a gay couple...but it's a lovely place and the staff was super nice. We ended up hanging there until about midnight, then tendered back in. Would of been nice to be there a little earlier, but we loved it. Ancona--- Small seaport...not much to do, we noticed folks stayed on board, or did the excursions. It's a quick walk in to the center of town. It was nice. Disembarkation was very well organized. We docked in Venice around 7am. Our cabin group was to meet up in the Sinfonia Lounge and we left around 9:10am, and in to the departure hall to collect our bags. Pretty simple. About the ship- The ship is very clean, and again, reminded me of an old world cruising style. (I sailed on the ORIGINAL LOVE BOAT, The Pacific Princess, so I have been around while:). I would say that the Sinfonia Lounge and the Manhattan Bar on Decks 5 and 6, seemed a little dated. Since the weather was so great, we loved being out at the Capri Bar on Deck 11 the best. We didn't care for the "Irish Pub" so much, but if you are a beer lover, they have a ton of different beers. Shopping- The shops had a lot to offer, but it was in a bit of a funky area. Think they are trying to offer more specialty shops with the limited space. However, we were not there to shop...we wanted the ports. They did have some duty free sales, but again, we were not in the market for anything. There were more Children than I thought there would be, but the Europeans tend to travel with the families. The pool area is QUITE nice and has a water park for kids. We didn't hang out at the pool, but we did up on deck 12 if and when we wanted. We didn't want to be around the little darlings. To sum it up, we really enjoyed it. I ignored the reviews and decided to just see what it's all about, and my partner and I had a fantastic trip. It is what you make of it. I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat! Enjoy!!! Read Less

As I read through several of these reviews, I'm scratching my head, but okay, I'm going to post MY EXPERIENCE as best I can and hope that folks understand that not only am I a person whose character can be selective (not snobby) and want quality for my hard neared dollar. Also, since there is not a lot on this site about this specific line and this specific ship, not trying to deny other people THEIR experience, I have to share because what I have read is far from and light years away from what we experienced. Let me start by saying that this cruise, taken in 2019, was planned since 2012 because I wanted a high-quality cruise experience for my now deceased mom's landmark 80th birthday. Since I didn't want to cruise Viking (thought it would be too stuffy for my mom's likes), MSC became the choice because their itineraries were exactly what I wanted. I lost my mom in 2015 so my BFF (a gay man..trust me, this will matter in the review) and I decided to celebrate our moms' in spirit since he lost his mom also and make this a couple of days prior to the cruise on land/excursion beginning in Barcelona and after the trip on land as we flew to London at the end of the cruise before coming home to the states. Flew into Barcelona from San Francisco (via Delta Airlines) and stayed a couple of days in Barcelona at a nearby Best Western (a friend works there and we received excellent service from them as well). The port city of Barcelona was PERFECT since disembarking from there helped make what could have been much more difficult, much easier. Barcelona is a busy, well-organized port city, that was the case, but it was a great choice on our end. That's where our trip began. Food: We were initially overwhelmed by all of the options for food and drink, which MSC Sinfonia seemed to dominate like an Italian aunt that wanted you to feel at home in her house. The option we purchased including beverages in our cruise package was smart, since this cost can be quite substantial to your cruise, and while we didn't choose the highest level liquor package, we did pick all you can drink coffee/tea/soft drinks/wine and cocktails (selected with quality liquors but not the Hennessey-level booze...didn't buy it because we don't drink all THAT much and can pay for those beverages as an aside). Great food, including a diversity of tastes and flavors, for all meals and snacks of the day, were fantastic. Not all were with an Italian taste but there was plenty of Italian-based tastings and we were very satisfied; because we are Americans, we also appreciated the pizza/pasta/sandwich bars along with the burger/hot dog and fries bar; they have fresh gelato as well as a Vitamin/Smoothie with fresh fruits bar and when you can get avocado and pineapple in a smoothie in the middle of the Mediterranean, I'm there! There was literally enough good healthy food along with the corrupt stuff you don't want your kids to eat, but being on vacation allowed everyone to be happy. While there is a breakfast buffet with enough options culturally to satisfy pretty much every country on the planet. But my travel companion found that if you get to the areas where you'll typically find pizza and burgers at lunch, you can get your omelette/pancakes. I loved to sleep in so I didn't get much of this but it was nice to know it was an option besides the over abundance of bacon and eggs or oatmeal and yogurt (greek yogurt). And that's another thing...they had delicious oatmeal. I was trying to be good with all the food goodies on board and didn't feel like my doctor would kick my bottom when I see him next visit. The coffee barristers and bartenders made our tasty drinks and pretty much to taste for us. I didn't have to ask for my tequila to be a specific one or have my drinks made in any way. Their bartenders know exactly what to do and how to make drinks. For the dinner/fine dining dinner option, we had My Choice dining as part of our package, allowing us to eat at a time of our choice and since we dine on the later side, we mostly sat without anyone else at our table (you're thoughtfully placed with others but it's not weird like putting a single couple or couple with a large family). We became to know the servers and the Dining manager was a professional maitre'd and could have worked at any of the 5 star restaurants we're used to going to in the US. Excisions: The opportunities and options were fantastic. From the choices of the well-thought out excursions, which were fairly priced and surprisingly well-organized to get folks on and off the ship efficiently, allowed us to make choices on how we wanted to live on the ship on our own. We were on a 12-day/11-night Mediterranean cruise, out of Barcelona, with stops in Malta/Corfu/Katalion/Herkalion/Pireaus/Civitavecchia/Genoa/Marseilles and back to Spain. What a GLORIOUS cruise this was. For myself and my friend to cruise for the first time, we were thoroughly overwhelmed. We experienced every opportunity on this ship that adults without children can experience, and we did visually see families enjoying themselves, so even if we can't speak as a family, as two single adults traveling together, we can both cheer for this cruise and this specific excursion. The Ship: There were lots of things to do, both on and off the ship from shows, to televisions everywhere to watch sports and have a beer or cocktail/coffee/tea or soda...public spaces, a casino (and you do get your winnings); of course traveling in early Spring as we did wasn't a guarantee of great weather but we did fortunately have sunny days and it was amazing. We were all able to sit outside and enjoy the wonderful Mediterranean sunshine. Fresh foods every day (fresh fruit for Americans that live in California is a huge deal and for me, as a New Yorker that lives in California now, as I said earlier, this was supposed to be a mom celebration...and baby, I LOVED my Momma....as did my friend. I even had a bout of bronchitis and he a bout with gout, so we visited the ship's doctor and even that experience was top-notch (needed antibiotics and received in an IV drip so I could fly and ended up continuing my trip without even having felt like I was ill). They had a photo studio where you can purchase pictures and capture everything from wedding to family portraits. In fact there was a wedding/reception/honeymoon on board the boat if I can properly recall. Their Staff/Crew: We were treated with wonderfully, energized joy by the MSC crew. It was like a Welcome Party. The preparation to have you get on-board starts with your obtaining a cruise card, which is basically your on-board, ID card, charge card and access card. Makes keeping your valuables safe painless. My plan was to relax and spa since we took advantage of the Aurea Spa package, which allowed us to obtain massages and add-on other purchased pampering. Again, since this was supposed to be a mother-daughter thing, I was looking forward to a facial and other treatments. These are on the pricier side, but considering their estheticians are the same quality of major spas in international cities, the price point wasn't out of reach or not something worth reviewing. They have a full service hair salon on board as well as treatments from acupuncture to various massage methods. MSC makes sure folks understand that it's not an unlimited financial card because your ability to have fun, responsibility both fiscally and emotionally are always gonna be front of mind. They have all types of shopping and other fun things to do, so even if you're not born rich, they treat you well and with car. We even met a couple from Perth Australia who told us that they've been cruising for years and they love Sinfonia even though MSC has newer ships. They described it as "old-stool' cruising and I understood what they meant. Being American, you can have some Disney-styled cruises (too child-attentive/better for families) or too Viking-esque (potentially too snobby and stuffy even if luxuriously appointed). We wanted to be treated like Viking, with party options that were not too immature). MSC hit the bill OUT OF THE PARK for us. To add to the other points: My friend is a gay man over 50; he was VERY happy and because he also blogs for LGBTQ entertainment, he plans on doing a piece on this experience...which I'm whole-heartedly rooting for because it was more than deserved. Also, I saw lots of disabled people: seniors with canes and wheelchairs in families and couples; a disabled athlete in a wheel chair; a family (it seemed since there were 2 visually impaired people in the group). We saw sign language used and when it came to language barriers, there were none....They have a talented, multi-linguist staff and their tours which were conducted in many cases in multi-languages, were just another impressive action because their folks speak multi-languages. I was impressed. A special shout-out to: Adrian (Dining Services); Shubert (Bar Services); Melray (Buffet Manager); Anthony (Stateroom Attendant), Irina (Spa Services) and all the servers on Sinfonia. You made us never forget you and we WILL BE BACK! Read Less

We chose this cruise for the amazing price, itinerary and length of stay on board. We did not read any of the online reviews when we booked the cruise, so we was really disappointed in reading all the negative reviews the day before we set sail. If we did we would not have booked. Let me say, this cruise was fantastic for the price we paid £280 for 10 days. Yes £28 per person per day. The ship is very nice, it’s an older ship but is still a good cruise ship. We did go through force 7 rough seas and the ship hardly rocked. In the past we have been on many MSC cruises including the new mega ship MSC Seaside, all have been good. Our cabin looked new and very clean cabin 7110. We did book an inside cabin but they upgraded to outside at no charge. All the bars were good. Bar staff are very friendly especially Vic and Askar from Mauritius, that really looked after us extremely well. The ship was full occupancy and there was no waiting time for drinks at all. I was so impressed I tipped the bar staff on last night. We booked the drink easy package, although a bit annoying that all the nicest cocktails wasn’t allowed so I had Heineken lager, wine and cocktails of the day. Made the most of it though as it was all you can drink. The theatre shows was fantastic and definitely not to be missed. The dancers were fabulous especially the girl dancers from England. All the shows were great but the London’s Calling was the best. They did “candle in the wind” for Princess Diana, my eyes filled up, great show guys. We met some great guests onboard from USA , Holly & Bobby and Marli & Dave that made our cruise extra special. Unfortunately due to the weather in Malta we could not go there but MSC gave us a refund 100euros compensation which we used on the photo service. In all what a great cruise and better than staying at home which costs us more. Thank you MSC for ai great cruise “PING” Read Less

Our first trip with MSC; we are Platinium with NCL, and frequently cruise with Princess, RCL Croissiere de France, Viking. I had basic expectations of MSC because they were cheaper than our usual cruise lines. I was not disappointed by the good cabin service, good food, good clean ship, and decent passengers. We cruised to 6 ports in 5 countries in the Mediterranean. MSC has a novel way of embarking and disembarking passengers at each port of call instead of one massive influx at the starting port. Imagine every port can be a starting port for passengers and you can choose to disembark at any port. Pros: Fast processing of fewer new passengers. Cons: constant changing fellow passengers. Overall it worked well as the passengers shifted from Italian, to French, to Spanish, to Maltese to Italian with a sprinkling of German and English passengers. It gave me a good opportunity to develop my Italian, French and German. The weather was luckily fine and the shore excursions informative. Overall, this cruise exceeded my expectations and I will cruise MSC again. Read Less

Especially the dead sea. Will definitely visit there again. If the 3 islands we visited I enjoyed Réunion the most. Very clean and organized setup. We had a great time. Will definetly recommend to my friends. This is really a relaxing cruise. See old cruising friends again. Experience new cities. Cost effecient. Lots of activities. Never a dull moment. The only problem was, because of the length of the cruise many people became sick(sneasing&couthing). Further on cruise was excellent. There was lots of South African entertainment & artists that we really enjoyed. What was annoying was all the different languages that was use, some was not necessary. Food was great. Overall a great experience. Cannot wait for our next cruise. Read Less

Lovely bars and dancing opportunities even the dance classes were good fun with professional teaching.we particularly enjoyed the piano playing of Roelof in the Le Barougue coffee shop. Although we could only afford an inside cabin it was very nice and comfortable and always clean. We are South Africans and our money dont do well in Europe against the Euro. Very good communication about the next days activities by way of the newsletter. Very good security at embarkation and disembarkation, very well organised and done in a very speedy way. Very friendly staff and we would like to make special mention of Jean Pierre and Frik. We did some of the shore excursions but mostly preferred to do our own thing which was most enjoyable. We saw and experienced Croatia (of which Dubrovnik is our favourite, we lost our hearts in Dubrovnik), Italy and Greece. It was a great experience for us and our 2 daughters. We shall definitely try to do another cruise as soon as our finances are in place. The staff of the Sinfonia was great, the food was great, the entertainment, the excursions the accommodation, everything was great. I gained a couple of kilograms from all the lovely food. It was also a very interesting experience to meet people from all around the world on the same ship. Everything run smoothly from the day we booked until the end of the cruise. Shows were great and different everyday. Santorini was bit rush but the island is so crowded so its not cruiseline fault. Going our of cruise at various ports was easy and ports were accessible easily. I will definitely go again. Ship is a bit old but you are also paying a lot less as compared to lot of new ships. Ship was extremely clean and rooms were cleaned 3 times a day. All day entertainment staff and programs were very different. My husband and I went on this cruise with our two children, aged 9 and 12. We really enjoyed cabin 9003, which was like a suite at oceanview pricing. We chose this cruise both because of this cabin, and because of the kids sail free pricing, which made it a much better deal for us than a comparable cabin would be on another line. We also liked the itinerary, which took us to Italy, Croatia, and Greece. My older daughter was the right age for Young Club, age 12-14, but we never could find anything going on with that age group. Our understanding was that they combined this age group with the older teens due to low numbers, but my 12 year old was not at all interested in or comfortable with hanging out with kids that much older. Instead, she preferred to hang out with her sister and the younger kids, which they allowed. Even so, she still felt too old for that group and wasn't particularly happy with the kids club because she is at an awkward in-between age. I think that my youngest would have really enjoyed the kids club more if her sister had been more enthusiastic, but instead they preferred to hang out together on their own. This ship was a good opportunity for them to practice this kind of independence, and we felt comfortable letting them roam around together without us. My youngest really liked the splash pad area, and both kids were crazy for the gelato. Most nights, we went to the shows without the kids and we did enjoy the interesting acts. We brought the kids to the one with pop music, which they really enjoyed. My daughter asked me, "Is that really Taylor Swift?!" haha. I did feel that the female dancers in the shows were often dressed unnecessarily sexy, and there were times that I felt glad that my kids were not at the shows because of it. Another activity that my older daughter really liked was Master Chef at Sea. She likes to watch these types of TV shows, and was excited to watch one live. My husband enjoyed the fitness area and thermal spa every day, so I am glad that I paid for spa access for him even though I only went once, as it is more his thing. We ate in the MDR each night and our waiter quickly learned our preferences and anticipated our needs. We had drink vouchers due to the Fantastica experience, 12 alcohol ones for each adult, and 12 non-alcohol ones for each kid. Since I do not drink alcohol, my husband used all 24 of the alcohol vouchers, and the kids and I shared 24 the non-alcohol vouchers. This worked out perfectly for our family, and we used most of our non-alcohol vouchers for gelato or virgin daquiris. We also had a bottled water package, which we used to get water to take with us for the excursions. In the end, we had too many of these vouchers though, so I don't think it was really necessary considering that we already got complimentary bottled water at meals with our package. We went on the ship excursion in Split to Krka for the waterfalls, and this was a great excursion and really beautiful. We brought swim suits and got in the water at the falls, which was cold, but still nice. The bathrooms/ changing area at the top of the hill by the parking are free, but the ones at the bottom by the falls charge to use them, so it may be preferable to change at the top. For the other ports, we did our own thing. In Santorini, we took a private excursion to Oia that was available right where we got off the tender boat. We took a boat to Oia, then a bus to Oia town, then walked around there. Then we took another bus back to Fira, and then waited in the long line for the cable car back to the tender boat back to the ship. While Oia was worth seeing, most of our day seemed to be spent in some sort of transport. In Mykonos, we took the public bus to town and just walked to the windmills and around town briefly. This port was at night, and since we were with the kids, we didn't stay out late. In Dubrovnik, we took a taxi straight to the cable car first, and then walked around in town. We were going to do the beach excursion in Ancona, but it was cancelled due to weather. We ended up finding our own way to the beach and left when rain started around 2pm. We really enjoyed this experience and we have decided to rebook with MSC on the Seaside next year. Read Less

Before we went on our cruise, I read alot of the reviews, most were negative. I became very anxious but was assured by other friends that it was good. We commenced our cruise and within days I was very very pleased. We had pre-booked & paid for the drinks & laundry package - this is something I would highly recommend. The room was clean. Food was good. Staff were excellent & helped in every way possible. There were plenty of shore excursions to choose from if you wanted to book any - we booked a few & really enjoyed each of them. Everything about the cruise was excellent. I was horrified that people can be so negative - they are obviously pessimists. Our 7-day cruise on the MSC Sinfonia was great & I would recommend MSC to anyone. Don't let the negative reviews deter you. Go on your cruise and enjoy it for what it is & judge for yourself. We loved it! Read Less

We traveled from Sweden me and my husband. We arrived at Venice Airport. We were picked up by MCS and got a bus to the harbor. We were treated well and had to check in before we stepped on the ship. The bags took them and carried up to our room. As you boarded you were photographed by the security guard. Down in the cabin, one had to take his card to register with money on information deck in a machine. You can choose any amount. At the end of the trip you pay up your debts and, if you owe it, you only pay more money to the Visa card. With credit cards you do not have to do anything, they will deduct the amount directly. They charge 150 kr per day for onboard service. We felt that the room was big and spacious. A nice balcony facing the sea. Comfortable beds,. Good room service. Cleaned 2 times a day in the morning and evening. We ordered breakfast one morning but felt it was so sparse so it was better to eat in the resturant. The evening meal there were two sittings in two different restaurants so just choosing what one wants. There was also buffet food on deck 11. The best part is to buy ready-made beverage pack. But first ask what drinks are included otherwise you will be able to pay. Everything is not included in all packages. But it was very easy to just submit the card and get what you want to drink. We experienced great service and cleanliness throughout the ship. It could get crowded quickly at the pool deck many came early in the morning and put their towels. Do not forget to bring the towel back to the room or they will charge an additional fee if it disappears. For some excursions, one had to go by bus or boat to get to town. You had to pay extra for which you did not know before. But it did not cost much and it was worth it. We can recommend an excursion in Split to a National Park with waterfalls. It was a few miles outside Split. It was amazing. The shower and theater were not that high class. We went once. The discotheque was good. As well as the kareoke evening. The boat is great to explore and you always find something new. We are very pleased with our trip and our waitresses at dinner were divine. We can recommend taking bus transfers to and from the ship. Then you are in good hands both at check-in and check-out. We recommend Sinfonia to others. New tours every day. Croatia is incredibly beautiful. Anneli & David Sköld Sturefors Sweden Read Less

We wanted a LONG cruise and this was it❣️ The embarkation process went smooth. The fact that we could check in online, made it easy The ship is awesome and has everything you can think of Our cabin was very good and we had enough space not to feel cramped. All the food was excellent. The food from the dining experience was good - although the service was slow (but it was not the waiter’s fault). Some of the entertainment was excellent, especially Roelof and the lady concert pianist The artists from the Manhatten Lounge was terrible on the other hand. The service from some of the staff from customer care was not very friendly. Sometimes, some of the staff clearly ignored you while standing in the queue. The ports and shores were beautiful but the excursions were extremely expensive. I would LOVE to travel on a long cruise again Read Less

We wanted to do a longer cruise. We started in Durban which we knew so only did a half day in Durban. Embarkation and disembarkation at the beginning and end went smoothly however at the different ports it was a little chaotic. When you have more than 4 buses going perhaps you could call two at a time rather than 4. The ship was lovely and clean. Our room which had a big window was spacious and comfortable. The food was very good and was always available. The restaurants were clean and waiters very friendly. I did feel a little sorry for them when the ship was running out of wine within the first 10 days. The waiters took the brunt of the people anger and when asked for the manager he was never available. However saying that they did supply us with more expensive wine that was available that wasn't for the vouchers that we had pre-booked. Entertainment was good and plenty of activities. Found quite a lot on before 10am - breakfast the talks and gym - so we missed a few of the talks which were extremely interesting. Excellent service in the cabin, at the pool and in general the crew was fun and always polite. The excursions were great and very informative. Pity Montenegro and Split were such short stops as they were really beautiful. I would definitely go again in fact trying to decide on the next route. Thank you for a great experinence!! Read Less

We were on a cruise trip "Oppiwater Kunstefees RSG" to Maputo, Portugeuse Island and Pomene on April, 15, 2018. It was for 5 nights to remember for a long time. Although we couldn't get off the boat at Pomene, because of the weather, there were enough to do like watching shows, swimming or just relax and many more. There was a big variety of delicious food to eat. The crew members were very friendly and helpful. We have all we need in the cabin. No shortage at all. They came about 3 times daily to clean up the room. When we left the room and came back all was neat and cleaned. I can't wait for my next trip in December 2018. Thank you to the Captain and all Crew members of the MSC Sinfonia for a wonderful and safe trip. It was really a wonderful and great experience to do this trip. Read Less

We decided in November 2017 it is time to try a cruise and see what it is all about & just went into Pentravel to book. We didn't know it was Oppiwater Festival & we were really surprise about all the show's. The celebs on this cruise were all very friendly & we really enjoyed meeting them all in person. It was just a pity that the travel agent didn't tell us we need to book tickets for all the shows, but we were lucky enough to have gotten some complimentary tickets. We did not go on any shore excursions because we heard that there was no facilities on the Portuguese Islands & because of safety reasons & weather conditions we could not get off at Pomene. It was not a problem for us as there was so much to do on board & we still enjoyed ourselves. We are telling all our friends & family that this should be one of the things on their bucket list to do. We are already planning to go on another cruise hopefully on the new Musica that is coming soon. This was worth every cent we spend from start to finish it was worth it. The service on board is excellent, the food is good, entertainment excellent, cabins comfortable, everything is just perfect, We were also pleasantly surprise at how quick the embarkation & disembarkation process went, the only real problem was with the waiting for parking at Durban harbour, but once you had your parking it was smooth sailing from there on. One other thing the cocktails are amazing. Read Less

This is our 3rd Oppiwater trip and we enjoyed each one. Great stuff. The staff is very helpfull and pleasant , specially our dinning room waiter , Warnaya. The embarking has definitely been streamlined from the previous trips . The rows kept going at a steady pace. No waiting. It is quite something to handle so many people ( 3000) so well and efficient. The vibe on the ship was as good as always with everybody in a real holiday mood and the entertainers and music just added fuel. The cocktails were great and thanks to the drinks packets , which is a good deal, one could enjoy enough of that. The only complaint is that the wine stock was low , so the selection was limited and you had to take what you get. But the overall experience was still great - so much so that we will most probably be on this trip again , next year, just on the bigger MSC Musica. Read Less

A group of us (12 parties) had birthdays and a wedding anniversary we needed to celebrate and what an experience. Everything was on point from the excellent food, outstanding, humble ,and helpful crew members, spacious and neat cabin with comfortable beds and excelleny entertainment. I was totally blown away by everything and the minute we docked at the Durban harbour we were eager to plan our next cruise. I doubt I will ever go on another 'long-drive-to-somewhere-holiday' again. I am very fussy when it comes to food and my sleeping arrangements but the bed was super comfy - and it was a bunk bed. There was over sufficient food choices for even the fussiest traveler lols. The entertainment crew was excellent, so much so I am trying to get hold of a few of them as they just grew in our hearts. I am busy planning my next cruise for my mom, daughter and myself as I am hooked! We all had an amazing experience and do recommend it to anyone who has never been on a cruise before. We chose this cruise as our first ever cruise to learn our way around the ship and boarding procedures. Boarding is a long process, but once onboard, it moves very quickly. Staff are friendly and always willing to assist and answer questions. Food was excellent, tho not much choice for vegetarians, same meals offered at all lunches. Burger station continuously ran out of chicken burgers. Pizza area was brilliant. activities were mininmal for the short cruise but enjoyable nonetheless. Cabin was neat and well prepared. Daily newsletter was a great help in planning our days. one problem was experienced with cabin shower. Hot water continuously ran cold every few minutes. Dress code should be enforced at club pasha and stricter security, men were entering shirtless and very drunk, leading to glass breakage on the dancefloor. Kids under 18 were also allowed access to alcohol environment. all in all a very pleasant experience. Read Less

It was our first cruise, and we were overwhelmed. It was everything we expected and more. The staff are very professional and polite. I can do this again any time soon. The cabin was so neat and clean. We really enjoyed every minute on the cruise. Entertainment was fantastic. We went for the show on Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised by the excellent performance. Thank you to the staff and crew of the MSC Sinfonia. The drill was a bit confusing, I suppose because it was our first, we did not know what to do. The fact that you have to go to your cabin first to collect your life jackets and then go to the specific deck. We were scattering around and not sure what to do. LOL But overall it was very pleasant. I wish for my family and friends to have the same experience. Thank you!!! Read Less
