We have wanted to cruise on one of the Oasis class ships far some time and thankfully final did. What a great ship. Yes there are 6000 guests on board however with only one exception, we didn't experience any long lines. The exception of course was the windjammer buffet. They hold you up at the entrance so they can locate a seat for you which is a good idea. Other wise there would be tons of people bumping into one another trying to find a seat. Just too many people and totally unnecessary. We instead ate breakfast at the Central Park Cafe'. No lines quiet, enjoyable and the food was good. If you want to go to a buffet and load your plate to the ceiling with food you probably wont eat cause it's free, the Park cafe might not be for you. There is no charge, however there aren't 10,000 items to choose from. Specialty dining was simply awesome. I would highly recommend it. Main dining room was OK but we preferred the specialty restaurants. We found the solarium cafe' to be in between the main dining room and specialty restaurants as far as food quality. You will need to make reservations in advance but it is also free. Loved the shows. By the way, RESERVE YOUR SEATS FOR THE SHOWS prior to sailing. Drink prices have gone way up sense we last cruised on Royal three years ago. The drink package might be for you if you plan on drinking five or more drinks per day. Keep your eyes open prior to sailing for deals on the drink package. Day 5 they offered several drink deals. We took advantage of the 10 drinks for $79 card. After gratuity it was close to $100. You save around $35 bucks depending on what you are drinking. Only thing I don't like about RCCL is the day strip on the floor in the elevators. I don't want to be reminded every time I get in the elevator what day it is and how little time we have left. LOL Read Less

We enjoyed another excellent cruise aboard the Oasis. Embarkation was relatively quick and painless, save for a slight delay in boarding due to the previous cruise’s late arrival. No biggie. If you cruise on this ship with the aim of looking for things to complain about, you will find them. She is tired and needs a refurb. However, it takes more than a scuffed chair or stained carpet to bother me when the fundamentals are spot on, which they are on this ship. She was a pleasure to sail aboard. My cabin was clean, quiet and comfortable. The food, whether in the MDR, Windjammer, Park Cafe or Solarium Bistro was excellent. We especially enjoyed the “taste of the Mediterranean” dinners in the Solarium Bistro - free of charge (you just need to make a reservation) with beautiful fish and meat cooked to order, piping hot and in a relaxing atmosphere. The food in the MDR was great, there were just some evenings when there was nothing that jumped out at me but I made do and the food I did order was good. The service throughout the ship was excellent. The aqua show was fabulous, as was the Move It parade on the final day. I skipped on Cats (not my thing) and didn’t bother with other shows I have seen before (but very much enjoyed previously). The rising tide bar, or uppy downy bar as we call it, was entertaining. The Diamond lounge was a joy, as usual. The pools were sometimes crowded on sea days but that’s what you get when you’re not aboard a private yacht. We didn’t go to speciality restaurants as I don’t see the need to pay extra when the food and service in the MDR is top notch. Same goes for room service - there are so many places to get food on this ship and so easily, there is no need. We had a wonderful time. The ship is not brand new and is showing her age but this didn’t affect our enjoyment of the cruise at all. Read Less

We traveled with my parents who, at 70+ years old, were first time cruisers. We sailed on the Oasis a couple of years ago, so we knew what to expect. I have to say that this cruise exceeded even our expectations. My parents had a wonderful experience. Yes, the ship is huge, but once you know the layout you appreciate the exercise after eating all of the delicious food you have to choose from. Our stateroom attendant kept our cabins immaculate, and the service in the dining room was perfection. The waiters treated our daughter like a princess, and treated us like royalty. We did not venture out in any of the ports, as there were no excursions that peaked our interest. Our daughter loved the kids activities on board, and spent most of the time with her new friends. We loved the on board entertainment, especially Oasis of Dreams and the Beatles headliner band.We will definitely cruise RCCL again, and hope to sail on one of the newer ships in the upcoming year. :) Read Less

We chose Oasis of the Seas because my husband had watched a documentary of it being built. We were not disappointed in this ship at all. The ship is huge but very well planned out and you never feel too bombarded with other guests. The balcony cabin was very comfortable and the bed divine. The staff are very courteous and helpful so you definitely get excellent customer service. We really enjoyed all of the food with the exception of the Windjammer Buffet. We ate at the Chops Grill the first night of our cruise and were very pleased with the food. We loved the adult swimming/hot tub area on the 16th floor. It had plenty of seating and a bar close to the pool and hot-tubs. We could also watch the families with children having fun on the 15th level. We will definitely sail with Royal Caribbean for one next cruise! Read Less

My wonderful boyfriend had been on a cruise previously and was excited to be part of this adventure with me. It was my first time on a cruise. You do not have to get off the ship for anything! The food was delicious! the crew was friendly and professional! the cabin overlooking central park was spotless and romantic! we could hear live music every day from the balcony or our cabin! The entertainment on the most part was excellent! except for Cats (which was boring!!). In the main dining room our wait team were friendly and accommodating as we don't eat meat or shellfish. They went the extra mile to make us feel at home! Thanks to Christopher and Tarin!!!( and the extra delicious bread daily!!) Even though there were 6000 other passengers it never felt crowded or hectic on the cruise! We always could find a place to sit by the pool or deck or dining areas at breakfast and lunch! The week previous to our departure from Port Canaveral, unfortunately the Oasis of the sea passengers were in an outbreak due to the norovirus!! When we arrived we were extremely impressed in how it seemed that all preventative measures had been taken to prepare for us. The whole week the crew went out of there way to keep the passengers healthy with sanitizer at every venue, restaurant and store! I work in healthcare and was impressed!!! My only other complaint was the coffee!!!Thank goodness for Starbucks on sale on the Royal Promenade deck! Can you not improve your coffee???!!! Many of us love a good cup of coffee a couple times a day! Our off shore experience with the Nassau glass bottom boat was not worth the money! The speaker system was horrible and you could hardly see anything where they stopped to look thru the bottom! By the way the rum punch seemed watered down as well.Oasis of the Sea if you have kick backs I think it is time you found a better company! All in all it was a fantastic week! Thanks to everyone that made our time enjoyable! Warm regards, A and P Read Less

This was our first family cruise, and every single aspect of our trip, from embarkation to disembarkation, was phenomenal. Every single RC employee we came into contact with, from the janitorial staff, to the deck attendants and maître d, were pleasant, friendly, personable, and SO professional. Our balcony stateroom was immaculate, beautiful, bigger than we expected, and cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis. Our porter Gina was so cheerful and happy every single time we saw her, and she did an incredible job of helping to set the tone of our vacation. Last year we went to an all-inclusive resort, and we were curious about how the food with RC would compare. HUGE difference-and surprising considering that the all-inclusive was considerably more expensive. Every single bite of food we had on the ship was fresh, well prepared, and honestly delicious-particularly in the main dining room. The variety from night to night was perfect, every course of every meal came out quickly and was hot, tasted delicious, and amazingly somehow did not feel "mass prepared". We are picky eaters and were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food everywhere we went. Sorrento's was fabulous (and we're from Philly-we KNOW good pizza!), and we appreciated that fresh roasted vegetables were always available to go along with our pizza. Our waiter in the main dining room, Alberto, was one of our best memories of the trip-kind, pleasant, and SO attentive, as was his beverage assistant Iputu. The fact that he meticulously cut our 4 year old son's food up each night probably seems like a minor detail to your management, but it's those little details that completely elevated the whole experience for us. The delicious jerk chicken that was off menu that we were served on Caribbean night was also a great surprise! We had heard great things about the kids club, and were hoping our son would be comfortable enough for us to leave him there one night of the trip so we could enjoy a date night. After a private and very thorough Q&A meeting initially with one of the kids club managers (standard protocol for newcomers), we left him for about an hour on the 2nd day, hoping he'd be ok, since he's a bit shy at first. When we returned, he didn't want to leave! We ended up taking him every day of the trip-at HIS request! My husband and I got to have a date night almost every night of the trip after enjoying a nice family dinner together, which was wonderful and totally unexpected. The kids club was immaculate, and every staff member was friendly, warm, engaged, and remembered our child by name. The various activities and themes each night were SO fun for him and perfectly age appropriate. It was honestly the best surprise of the whole trip, and he's already asking about when he can go back :) The commitment to cleanliness everywhere we went on the ship was extremely impressive. While I'm sure that extra precautions were being taken because we happened to sail the week after the norovirus outbreak, our nerves were quickly put to rest. I recall a few evenings when we were heading back to our stateroom and the janitorial staff were literally washing down the walls in the hallway. The restrooms around the ship were completely spotless morning, noon, and night, no matter how busy. I can't recall even one instance when I walked in to a ladies room and there was a piece of trash on the floor-amazing considering just how many guests were aboard. The cleanliness and ease of use with regard to the pools and activities onboard were another awesome layer of our vacation. Pools rarely felt crowded, even on sea days, and the incredible number of lifeguards, pool attendants, and deck attendants really helped us to relax and enjoy. All of the equipment was in great condition, and the pool areas like the rest of the ship were constantly being cleaned. Common areas never felt crowded either, and we never had an issue with finding a place to sit. I'd be remiss not to also mention another excellent experience we had with the medical facility. Our 4 year old son was unfortunately running on the pool deck with some new friends and slipped and fell, and hit his head. Concerned about a possible concussion, we quickly rushed him down to the medical deck-but as soon as it happened there were no fewer than FIVE RC employees right there to assist us. We couldn't believe it. One of them escorted us to the medical deck, where we signed in and were immediately assessed by a nurse. After a 5 minute wait we were seen by a very sweet doctor who carefully examined our son and ran some tests. Thankfully he was completely fine, and we were met by a security manager who took a detailed account of the incident and then walked us back up to our spot by the pool, where he had me explain to him what happened AND took pictures of the area. Obviously good business sense on their end, as an issue like this could present a potential liability, but it was clear that they took the situation seriously and were so kind and caring. We could not have been more impressed with the way in which the incident was handled all around. The entertainment on the ship was fabulous. The performers were all obviously very highly trained, and the production value of the shows, particularly the ice skating show, far surpassed our expectations. Seating was ample, and none of the shows ever felt crowded. Lastly, a major highlight of our trip was membership in the Key program, which we purchased prior to the trip. We figured that in comparing the cost of the internet packages alone, that the Key program seemed worth the nominal upgrade-and we could not have been more right. Our welcome lunch at the specialty restaurant Chops Grille on the first day of our trip was an amazing way to start our vacation, and premier seating at all of the shows was great. The best part of this program came on the last day, when the ship felt the most crowded with everyone trying to figure out where to go to exit the ship. We followed the instructions and arrived at a thankfully EMPTY! hallway, that led to a beautiful private dining room we hadn't yet seen. I can't think of a better way to start a long day of travel than with a leisurely breakfast of filet mignon, eggs, and gorgeous pastries. At the end of our meal, we were personally escorted to a private exit, and it was truly a wonderful way to end the trip. Thank you Royal Caribbean, for your incredible commitment to doing the right thing as a business by consistently making decisions that put your customers first, and doing everything in your power to give your guests extraordinary travel experiences and memories to last a lifetime. My family and I had such a wonderful time that we booked our next cruise on the 5th day of our trip for next January, and we are counting the minutes already! THANK you, sincerely, for everything! Even though almost 500 people came down with the Norovirus on our sailing, we had a wonderful time. It’s unfortunate that it happened. I feel for those that were sick and hopefully they recover quickly. The staff was amazing and worked around the clock cleaning and disinfecting constantly. We were disappointed that we were not able to get off the boat in Falmouth Jamaica but it was the righ decision. They also made the right decision to turn around and go back to Port Canaveral. Royal gave every passenger a full refund on their cruise and a refund on gratuities and drink packages for the Saturday. Despite everything we were able to eat wonderful food, had awesome entertainment for free. Once they announced their were sick passengers, we avoided elevators, touching railings etc and the windjammer café and we’re constantly washing and disinfecting our hands. We will continue to cruise and be vigilant in washing our hands. We would not hesitate going on another cruise with Royal Caribbean cruises. Read Less

This was our first cruise. We went with 11 other people and were taken care of extremely well. I was impressed with how well the crew took the precautions to prevent any more passengers from getting sick. I was asked if this experience had deterred me from cruising again. This has no way going to keep me from choosing Royal Caribbean again. Our dinner Servers, Mohit and Ikemas were spectacular. We wanted for nothing! We had 2 babies and a 4 yr old with us and both of them had their fruit and milks waiting for them. Ewan stopped by each night to ask about our stay and if we needed anything. As we began the embarkation process, I couldn't believe what a "well oiled machine" this was process was. When we disembarked even with the issues on board the process was just as smooth. I will say that if you have a large group like we did, use a porter to get you to transportation. He saved us 45 minutes in line. Thanks again for the great time. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we wanted to sail on one of RCI’s “Big Ones” and we only wanted three ports so we would have more time at sea to relax. The ship is awesome. Very well laid out. Although there were over 6,000 passengers we never felt crowded. We chose the dining that allowed us to eat at our discretion rather than choosing to eat at the same time and table every night. Our food and service were exceptional! I’ve been on almost 30 cruises and this ship nailed it in the dining/service category! We made reservations before we boarded and that saved us a lot of time waiting in line. We liked the Solarium area to relax and use the hot tub. Most of the time we could find two chairs there with no problem. It’s quiet and relaxing. Also, there is a Buffet there that doesn’t get too busy so that was very convenient. We went to two shows: “Come Fly With Me” and the Aqua show. Both were great. The comedy show was also great so all the shows we went to were well worth our time. We’re not “Cats” fans so did not go to that. We chose the Wave Runner excursion in Labadee and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guide spent 15 minutes going through a safety video and making sure everyone was on board with the rules. On the water we had a blast!! I would highly recommend this tour. Labadee is very well laid out and has many different areas to spend your day in. The buffet on the beach was typical (burgers, dogs, ribs, chicken) but it was all good. Our cabin (#11278) was a standard balcony cabin. Arlene was our attendant and she was super!! Very friendly and efficient. FYI there are no outlets by the bed to charge your phone, as a matter of fact there was only one outlet in the cabin (not including the bathroom) and it was located on the desk. It was laid out fine and there is ample space If you use all the cabinets. Tyne only issue was the hair dryer was very weak. Of course, the cruise was badly affected when 500 people contracted the noroviris. We knew something was up when we went to the Windjammer for breakfast and everything was being served by crew members. We couldn’t even get our own water or butter. And the time and effort it took to clean and sanitize a table after someone left was considerable. In the dining room, the servers would sanitize the salt and pepper shakers, sugar bowl and the butter bowl. We arrived in Jamaica that morning and we sat there for about six hours before the captain decided to leave. He made an initial announcement about the delay about two hours after we arrived and made a few more before the big announcement and also that we were leaving. It was during this time he announced people had gotten sick from norovirus. Unfortunately there are many people who come on cruises knowing they’re sick and yet do nothing to stop it from spreading from themselves to others. So many people got sick and it could have been prevented by simple hand washing and practicing good hygiene. The norovirus was and is not the fault of the cruise line. It’s caused by people who don’t care about others. I felt RCI did a great job to try and contain the spread of the norovirus and seemed to have a plan in place from the onset. I commend them for the job they did. I know it doesn’t help those who got sick because their cruise was ruined but I feel it needs to be said that the cruise line did all they could. On the critical side of the review... We were unhappy with our couples massage. They asked us what we wanted and where they needed to focus but they still just did what they normally do. We felt like they didn’t really listen. Massages on the ship aren’t cheap so it would be nice to have them pay closer attention to the answers you give them at the beginning. We were disappointed that the free ice cream was only offered for a limited time during the day. We felt it should have been available until midnight for us late night snackers. Speaking of which, the food choices overall, outside the dining room and buffet after 8:00 pm were extremely limited. The pizza was good but if we didn’t want pizza all you had left to choose from were desserts and petite sandwiches that didn’t look very appealing, at the Cafe Promenade. I feel they could easily improve in that area. Overall we were very happy with the cruise, aside from the norovirus issue. We would definitely recommend this ship. Read Less

This is the 3rd Christmas cruise in a row on the Oasis, and although there has been thorough enjoyment on all. However, this one was over the top, the best. Can't put my finger on what made this year different, except that it was - from check in to departure. We embarked the ship with no waiting - went to our cabin and our luggage was already there! RCCL went out of their way to make sure passengers enjoyed their experience. It was a happy ship. The cruise director was experienced and knew what he was about. Handled himself in a most professional manner. He hosted a "chat" with Capt. Petersen which was most enjoyable. The Capt. was relaxed with the group and easy to talk with. There was excellent interaction and rapport with him for a good hour. Coastal Kitchen was remarkable. The menu was varied and the items served were cooked perfectly. Labadee has been upgraded, not that it wasn't very nice before, but it is amazing what they have done with the recreational facilities and the design. Lot of enjoyment just walking around looking at everything. RCCL has put a lot of time, money and energy into making the area very pleasant. Note that the shore excursions were rated excellent because there is no place for a non-applicable choice. The ice skating production is so well done we saw it twice. Aquatics theater - the performance of the swimmers - breath taking. Read Less

With 20+ cruises under our belt we decided to finally try the biggest with Royal's Oasis of the Seas. Some recent reviews were not favorable. We found almost everything wonderful! The staff in every department was friendly and helpful. Room attendant exceptional. The shops in the Prominade were filled with enthusiastic young people that just wanted you to enjoy the cruise. Some reviewers mentioned the age of the ship and maybe in need of some work (kinda like me). We have been on one year old ships with issues that needed addressing, so a suggestion would be to overlook minor things and just enjoy. Many food choices available throughout the ship, from pizza, salads, sandwiches, buffet, etc. and all were good. Since tastes differ the main dining menu has enough variety to satisfy pretty much any wish. I always get 2 or 3 offerings so that I could discover a new favorite. Chefs table was nice since they offered two for one on days that needed participants. The same at the steak house. Just be friendly and ask the head waiter quietly. Even without the drink package they will give you 40% off bottles of wine if you ask quietly! I never get the drink package because I bring two bottles of wine and a bottle or 2 of spirits. My last review received a question on how to bring on spirits. Amazon has "rum runners". Check them out on YouTube. The comedians, Ice show, main showroom, dive show, all very good. The exception was the production show Cats. It was awful. About half the audience walked out within 20 minutes, us included. I would have left 10 minutes sooner but my darling wife said we needed to give it a chance to have some entertaining value. Nope, nada, zip. When she glanced at me then rolled her eyes I knew she had given up also. Don't worry about having 6,000 guests causing lines. We did not have any issues. First timers need to book the free shows weeks in advance of cruise date because seating is limited. A line will form for non-ticketed folks 10 minutes before showtime. You will still get in! Just seats could be scattered. Try the Oasis. You will love it. Read Less

The ship was fantastic. Lots of activities. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. The service was the best I've ever had. I think it was because I had reached Diamond status & the staff treated me like royalty! I was constantly getting champagne, wine, or sweets in my cabin. We had My Time Dining & we kept the same waiters. They were outstanding--spoiled us to death! The only bad thing was our room. We were doing a back to back & the room for our 1st week for your typical inside cabin. Small but certainly manageable for 2 widowed ladies. That room was 11677. The room for this week of our cruise was room 14327 & it was totally unacceptable! The bathroom had a small, very shallow sink that I couldn't even begin to wash my bathing suit in. There were no glass holders, no clothes line in the shower--just 2 hooks. The place that was supposed to be a place for your soap & shampoo to be was not a solid surface so everything placed there would fall through! The closet was a little larger than our 1st room but was only a foot from the bed. We couldn't get to it unless we slid the bed toward the other bed! Even then we couldn't bend down to get to the shoes so I just piled my shoes on the other side of the room in front of the long couch! Why such a super long couch & no room to get in the closet? Horrible room! The entertainment was great! Very enjoyable Headliner Shows. I really liked Cats. It's not a 3 hour show that so many people have said. It was 2 hours & 25 min. I saw it twice. One of the comedians, Nery Saenz was very funny in the Comedy Club & also in the auditorium, but the other one was not. Frozen in Time was very good & so was the Aqua show. Lots of good entertainment. Pools & hot tubs very good. The food in Haiti was not the best. All of the meat was dry. Good entertainment while we were eating there. Typical ports--we didn't do any shore excursions. The Dining Room had good food for the most part. Ate at Chops one night & it was outstanding. Embarkation was very bad. The passengers that had already checked in had to sit on the floor or chairs because they couldn't board the ship yet. We were getting ready to check in but were not allowed to since no one could board & had to stand there for a good 40 minutes. We were told that the Coast Guard had sent only 3 people instead the usual 18 required to clear the ship. All in all it was a good cruise on a great ship. Read Less

This is my 3rd cruise with RCCL and my 6th overall. This was by far the best one. I was worried about being on such a big ship with 6000 passengers as I have only been on smaller ships before. It was never a issue. There is always something to do and we were never bored. I had read the reviews about the ship being old and showing its age, Not true. It was not brand new but was well maintained and clean. The staff were all professional and we never had a issue. We stayed in a junior suite and it was much more comfortable then we were used to. Only issue we had was we were not able to have dinner in the Coastal Kitchen that suite guest could use. By the time we tried to get in it was already reserved for the cruise. Not a big deal the main dinning room was great. The entertainment on the ship was top rate. Cats was excellent and the diving show is something not to miss. I read lots of negative reviews of this ship and I don't see what people are complaining about. I work in a service industry and know hard it is to please some people and RCCL are great. No matter what you do some people will not be happy. I recommend this cruise for everyone. Read Less

I really enjoy this ship...here are a few reasons why.... 1. My favorite meal/dish on the ship was Giovani's. Loved the steak and Risotto. Also loved Chops. For non specialty restaurants, I enjoyed the Main dining room for dinner and Park Cafe for lunch. Was not a fan of breakfast at any of the places. 2. I I loved Laberdee. It was beautiful and I enjoyed the beach and zip line. 3. My favorite place to hang out while on board was the pool deck especially the solarium. But... I also loved my balcony. 4 As for the shows, (Cats, Frozen, Headliner, Come Fly with Me, Ocean of Dreams) I saw all but the ice one. Favorite was Come Fly with Me. I enjoyed Cats and the others too. Cats, is not for everyone. Many people are confused about the story and the music is set in a minor key. If you love broadway you will enjoy it. If broadway shows are not your thing....I would skip it. 5. We took part in may of the other activities (trivia games, Love and Marriage, Quest.....) We love games and those types of activities so we did many of them. We won a trivia game and the Perfect Couple game. Had a blast at quest and the others too. If you are easily offended I would skip Quest and the adult comedy shows. 6. The best non-clothing item we packed was tiny battery operated tea lights that were great night lights in the bathroom. 11. My biggest pet peeve, challenge or issue encountered while on the cruise was rude people or those who do not have manners like talking during shows or rushing the elevators. Don't be that person. Also don't be that person who eats off their plate in the Windjammer while still getting food. It is gross and you are spreading germs each time you touch your food to your mouth and then grab a serving utensil. If you are THAT hungry, sit down and eat and then get a FRESH plate and get more food. Read Less

My parents gifted us this cruise for Christmas, and we had a great time! We stayed in a 2 bedroom Grand Suite (sky class) room 10244. My husband and I shared the smaller room with our 7 month old son, my brother slept on the futon-type couch in the living room area, and my parents stayed in the larger bedroom. We were all comfortable, especially since we usually stay in inside cabins and are used to the tighter sleeping accomodations. I will focus on the baby aspect of this cruise, since I had trouble finding much information on cruising with a baby when I was preparing for this trip. Overall, I think it went very well, but we have a pretty chill baby. First off, we preordered baby food, diapers, wipes, and bottled water for formula. None of the items I ordered matched the pictures on the website, except for the water. The diapers pictured are Huggies Snug and Dry, which is what I have been using for overnight diapers since my son is still too small for the smallest size of true overnight diapers. However, what we got was Huggies Little Snugglers (36 count size 2). The baby food pictured was Geber Organic stage 2. We received regular Geber, stage 1 (which is half the size) - 2 squash, 3 sweet potatoes, 2 carrots, and 2 prunes. The wipes we received were not baby wipes, but Cotonelle wipes (like the kind adults can use too). We ordered the 12 pack case of 1 liter Evian bottles, and that was as pictured/advertised. All items were in our stateroom on arrival. The pack n play provided was clean and adequate, although they do not provide fitted sheets for it, so bring your own. It fit (snugly) between our bed and the wall. We used the pull down bunk beds to store our clothes (still in our packing cubes from the suit case). We brought a small swing for our son, since he still takes naps in the swing and it was a necessity. It fit, unassembled, in our large hard sided suitcase. It is the Fisher Price take along swing and seat. Take extra batteries and screwdriver to reassemble if you bring the swing. Instead of using burp cloths, we opted to ask for extra wash cloths and use those while on the boat. Worked great! We brought the OXO tot on the go travel drying rack for drying bottles and it fit perfectly at the end of the bathroom counter. Also a full size bottle of babyganics dish soap. For dirty diapers, since we didn't have our diaper genie, we used the diaper baggies that come on a roll, to cut down on smell between room cleanings. Since we were in a suite, we had access to a tub for bath time, which worked fine. For the stroller, we opted for a car seat/stroller caddy combo. We brought our Chicco KeyFit30 car seat, which we brought on the plane since we bought him a seat, and also used in the rental car to the ship. We used the Chicco Caddy stroller that the car seat snaps onto, and it worked great. The handles fold down, which is convenient on the elevators of the ship to make extra room. We did also bring our Lillebaby all seasons carrier to wear our baby during the drill on the first day, since you can't use the elevators. We used it during the dive show at the Aqua Theater as well when we had to stand the whole time, since we got there too late for a seat. Our son is still too small for the high chairs provided on the ship, so after trying it out for one dinner, we opted to bring the car seat/stoller combo into the dining room at dinner, fold the handles down, and pull it up to the table. It took up no more room than a chair. When it was time to feed him, we took turns holding him on our lap. We were never offered any pureed food for my son in the Main Dining Room or Coastal Kitchen, but did not ask either. I think if we really wanted/needed it, it could be done according to other reviews I read. One thing to note, if you are in a suite, you have access to the suite deck at the pool. However, there is no elevator that goes to that deck, so we couldn't easily bring our baby up there in the stroller. Other items that came in handy: stroller fan for days in port, baggies for putting ice in for keeping bottles cold, OXO travel spoon with carrying case, wipeable bibs, clorox wipes for cleaning surfaces/plane surfaces/toys, travel lysol to spray down pack n play/plush toys that fall on floor, noise machine, sound-only baby monitors, extra batteries for swing/fan/toys, medicine kit with OTC baby meds (tylenol, saline nose spray, gas drops, etc.) since these are not readily available anywhere. We also opted to keep the items that we knew we couldn't replace easily on the ship in a rolling suitcase that we kept with us when we boarded, instead of checking, so that there was no chance of it getting lost. We did not use the kids babysitting service, but did sign him up on the first day just in case. The suites area of the beach in Labadee had plenty of shady chairs, where we set up shop and our baby napped. Read Less

We decided to do a neighborhood cruise from The Villages, FL. on the beautiful Oasis taking the Eastern Caribbean itinerary. This was our 4th cruise on the Oasis and it was good to be back on her. Final call had a total of 49 cruiser's heading out for 7 days of fun and over indulgence with the many food choices available. The Oasis class ship is our ship of choice with the many venues available any day of the week. Because we had been to all the usual ports many times we chose to stay on board during Port days and enjoyed the solitude available in all the hot tubs and pools and also the non busy eating places that were open. Entertainment was provided by cutthroat games of Sequence to burn up the calories. Embarkation was a nightmare as customs didn't clear the ship for boarding until almost noon thereby guarantying huge winding lines where you visited your neighbor many times over as we weaved our way thru. But finally they cleared the ship for boarding and we were ready for our adventure. We had a basic ocean view balcony that sufficed for the occasion but after being spoiled in suites a few times lately it's never the same. But we were on a cruise so we sucked it up and enjoyed what we had. We ate in the Main Dining room table # 836 @ 5:30 every night and we have never had better service in 20+ cruises with Tejas and Ming Ming bending over backwards to accomodate our every need The basic shows that we've also seen many times were good but "Come Fly With Me" needs to be replaced as it's served it's useful purpose. Aqua Theatre and ice skating show are always entertaining. Sadly the departure date arrived and once again our vaunted Customs Agents delayed everything as in the beginning they had 2 agents to serve 6,000 passengers. It's a shame that in some peoples eyes they blame RCCL for these messes with embark/disembark problems which were not of any of their doing. On the bus ride home our group of 49 all agreed it was a wonderful cruise and everyone had a grand time. You can't ask for a better rating than that. Read Less

First of all let me be clear that this review of 12/2 sail takes all things into consideration. I do not expect perfection. Esp as our ship was at max capacity of 6000 plus people. With that said, I can honestly say this was the best cruise ship and experience ever overall! I went w my family linclufing teen and ship was decked out in holiday decos wonderful! Tips first: 1. Try to prepare early. as we did. We booked shows and booked dining time & bought dining, excursions & drink packages early online and when on sale. First night done right was great promotion Thank you RC. 2. Bring RTIC or insulated cup that keeps your drink cold. I used daily for water & on excursions. You can get ice in rooms. 3. Get to everything early to get your seat if you can. 4. Bring cash to tip extra or make room on your acct. The staff works hard and if you feel they deserve it xtra tip $ will be there. 5. Check daily schedule early plan your day bc lots of activities. SHIP AND RESTAURANTS: Beautiful and well decorated. Very clean always. Never felt crowded to us. Expect waits usually short at busy times at elevator. Multiple elevators that work fast thank you. Booking like we did when school still in helps as not over whelming # of young kids at all. Loved the neighborhoods and I think that made all the difference in not feeling crowded. Must go through Central Park during day and night and listen to live music, eat at cafe and restaurants esp Chops Grille. I wasn’t there to shop but Tiffany’s Coach shops there if ur interested. We ate at Chops and their service, seafood & steak were outstanding. The intimate dining was peaceful and relaxing. Note: paying extra for lobster well worth it. But we loved the whole hot lobster more than cold seafood tower. shive portions and can get multiple sides. All delicious! Our 12 year old really liked the teen area. His input: loved that they had Mario Smash brothers and Mario Kart in wii and have ps3 Xbox 360 and PS4 games too. It’s located right next to arcade which needs better prizes (now just dollar tree type prizes) and cheaper games. (most cost $2 each). Claw machines don’t close. It was nice that teen area is close to basketball flowrider and wipe out cafe more free food. He liked the Boardwalk area esp variety of hot dog cool carousel. He loved Johnny Rockets bacon burger and onion rings. Staff there were super friendly w excellent service. Royal promenade was beautifully decorated w huge Chridtmas tree lights etc. Cafe Promenade had great desserts and good sandwiches avail 24 hours. Sorrentos pizza was good too and also always available I did $10 sale and T-shirt sale. Both crowded but great deals on watches purses hats etc. long lines for checkout expected. Bought gifts for relatives friends and us. Pool area was nice especially hot tub. But I only went once and early when it wasn’t crowded. I highly recommend walking around the ship very early when not crowded I enjoyed the quiet beauty of ship then. CABIN: Very clean and very nice room and bathroom overall. The sofa bed couch had some nasty stains but we covered w sheets blanket. Our room attendant took great care of our needs and kept room clean and well stocked. Lots of hangers. I decorated our room w Christmas decos which kept it festive. Loved the 24 hours of Christmas movies but need at add more movies as only 4. We tried the pay movies but movies kept cutting out or messing up it was irritating and we gave up. Glad I brought my DVD player n movies. Room service. We used this multiple times for our teen and worth extra charge and tip. Staff incredibly fast and we all especially enjoyed the delicious wings and sandwiches. Excursions: Recom book excursions early online to avoid disappointment, remember 6000 people. We went to 2 beach excursions precooked online for St. Thomas and Bahamas and tour on St Martin. Bahamas was the best! The beach at Bahamas where my son did stingray encounter was gorgeous and he really enjoyedbstingrsys. Thought about dolphins but we had swam w dolphins bf on another cruise but never stingrays. . Staff at encounter and on ferry boat were friendly and awesome! Ferry boat guys played fun music & led us in claps singing etc we all participated in thank you! Best time to get pics of ship. Beach had lots of loungers and free tubes but rest stuff cost to rent. We brought our own snorkels masks recon. 2nd beach St Thomas nice but no chairs loungers not nice. Scary ride through mountains and long drive to get there and back esp as people including driver drive erratically and fast. We hung on for dear life. We would skip this one . Beach w birds diving in water cool but negatives outweighed. Last excursion was better than expected. Bus tour of St Maarten both sides. We did not pre book and were on waiting list. Thankfully RC I believe got more buses to accommodate demand or pulled through and we were able to go. Comfortable cold air cond buses and nice stop to Historical ice cream shop. Tour driver provided lots onf interesting facts.. You can walk to nearby bakery which had amazing pastries for great prices. Shopping at open shops ok. Very nice stop to take pics neat top. Overall nice relaxing tour. SHOWS: We went to all shows except Cats and prebooked online a must do. I wished I had seen cats but heard mixed reviews and really tired at time so nixed it. All the shows were great especially the ice skating one. Costumes, and choreography were mesmerizing. Adult Comedy show featuring multiple comedians was really good too. Crew on ship: Amazing wonderful crew. We had some incorrect billing and contacted customer service but they straightened it out. Customer service was always nice friendly and professional and seemed to care, Windjammer and dining crew always friendly and hardworking. In the dining room, We enjoyed the very delicious selection and variety of food including desserts. Staff was excellent. Highly recommend trying escargot. The breakfast was always good w lots of choices but lunch needs work. Other than the unexpected pleasure of steamboat round yes! The lunch buffet was just good. Never got any good Mexican food and miss sushi. I skipped lunch at times and saved my appetite for dinner. Have to recognize the Filipino dining and wait staff in particular who always are sincerely friendly and hardworking and go above beyond. I would imagine they work in areas positions behind the scenes too and I hope RC rewards them as well as other nationalities that do such a great job, by giving deserved promotions. Or placemead in head or key positions. I do not see Philippines in head waiter positions like I think they should. As diamond members we’ve been on many RC cruises including w other lines. I recognize that the staff we’ve had are from many countries including on this cruise and i appreciate that fact. To have to be on all the time day in and out and away from family for lengthy periods must be very trying and I for one really appreciate the effort given to make our stay a positive memorable one. Thanks also to the Captain and officers & crew who kept us safe. The captain made the tough but right decision to turn ship around for very sick cruiser. I can say I have always been impressed with Royal Caribbean’s crew and staff and excellent food and it is the reason RC is my fav line. Only real negative was debarkation was very behind. Possibly due to customs. And very crowded for boarding. But again expected the crowds. We parked next to ship which was worth $ bc saved us time and effort. Read Less

Very good cruise. First time booking with RLC and they did not disappoint me. Oasis of the Seas is a beatiful ship, The theater had great shows ad we enjoyed our experience there. The cabin was comfortable enough, and we had pleasant nights there. The food was super good, specially pizza from Sorrentos. The staff was good, the ship is huge so there's less "crowd density". Smoker areas were fine, it's good to know that they are smoker areas still! A cigarrette while watching the caribbean sea is a MUST do experience. Tours were good, you have to look out for pocket pickers in some areas, but Europe is just too beautiful to not be seen. Problems: The shower is really small, smaller than Norwegian or Disney. Central park was our favorite attraction on board, it was beautiful to walk trough the park to get to the other end of the ship. Okay, so they asked for mor info: The staff was really good, we enjoyed the attention, specially in the restaurants given the amount of people there. There was a guy named James which was really really attentive to us. About the cabin, it's good but the showers are small... it may not be a deal braker for most of the people, but it's worthy to point it out. Read Less

We chose RC because we read that it was the best cruise line for handicapped people. It did not disappoint! The service was second to none, especially in the dining room. I loved the Solarium and the fact that no kids were in there. (I'm a teacher of young children & was recharging!). I was disappointed in the size of the Solarium pool though...it was like a big hot tub. I was also a bit disappointed in the variety of excursions. There were several I could have done in St. Thomas, but the choices for the other two ports were not as plentiful. We loved the Fast Cat snorkeling trip but we were packed in like sardines. It would be better to put a cap on the number going....not only for the boat but for snorkeling. I was kicked in the head more than once because we were all jammed in a small space. (There were 4 or 5 other catamarans in the same area, so it was not only crowded, there were just a few sea turtles and one sting ray.). I loved all of my time on the ship and would have booked it for next year but there were no handicapped balcony rooms left. Read Less

I will start by saying I am a harsh critic, and while there were some issues, overall, I had a fantastic time and Royal Caribbean deserves all of the credit for it!! I went on a girl's vacation with my mom and sister (mom in 60s, sister and I in late 20s/early 30s respectively). This was the first time my sister and I had been on a cruise and I must say we are now addicted!! We spent 2 days at Disney before the cruise, but the transportation (Mears Transportation) from Disney to Port Canaveral was great! Wonderful and knowledgeable driver and knew exactly where to go at port. Embarkation only complaint is that we did not realize that we could bypass the big line due to being in a suite. Once we got to the building, we bypassed the rest of the line and went straight through security. Check-in and all was a breeze from there! The ship was spectacular! Huge. Beautiful. Clean. I really liked that they all but forced sanitizer to everyone as you boarded and there were sanitizer stations everywhere, especially at every dining facility. At the Windjammer (the main buffet dining), they sanitized everyone upon entering! Definitely helps to keep the sickness off ship. We explored the ship (some) before going to our room. We had a grand suite which had a King bed (or pull apart to 2 twins?) and a pull out couch. I slept on the couch and slept fine and I have back problems. We had a beautiful 'kitchenette" (it was an island with a mini fridge, a long closet that held all 3 of our clothes, a mirror on each of the closet doors, and about 6 drawers for storage). Our bathroom had a double sink and a bathtub!! After walking around port all day, soaking in that bathtub was amazing!! Our concierge was very nice and informative - we left him a good (cash) tip! We had what was a double balcony I think. It had 2 nice lounge chairs and a table with 2 chairs. We ate breakfast out there on port days. Only complaint about the room is that our safe battery died so it quite working with our passports etc in there, luckily it was a cruising day and when we called about it someone came down within 10 minutes to fix it! Food was AMAZING and I am Gluten Free and always found food to eat. Windjammer was great. Main dining room food was great. A few of our waiters did seem a bit overworked and busy. We were on board over Thanksgiving and had a full ship, so maybe that had something to do with it. Otherwise, it was a good experience. Pizza place was open until 2 or 3am which was great! And when I told them I was gluten free, they made me a whole pizza in about 10-15 minutes!! It was included in the price for the room so I did not have to pay anything extra! Most of the time, the drinks at the pool could have been a little bit stronger, but i did find a few bartenders who made theirs stronger ;) We saw the broadway Cats, which was, a little boring (I really wanted to see it because I love musicals, but was dissapointed a little - but it is an old classic broadway play so that is what you get). Disappointment was due to the plot. The actors were entertaining and wonderful! Come Fly With Me was fantastic! Oh, and the ice show--they did such an amazing job especially considering that they are on a small ice rink and the ship was really rocking that night Ice skating is a very precisional sport, so they were definitely talented to do that while the ship was rocking. Comedy was awesome (I got called out by the headliner, lol). Be aware, I was at the adult show, and when they say adult, they mean adult, but we loved it! My sister really found a new hobby of art collecting while on board through attending the art auctions! Ports of call: Nassau, Bahamas we did the Sea and See Island tour. The sea part was great as we took a boat tour of the bay (the guides were hilarious and pointed out celebrity homes). Then we switched to another boat out in the water that was like a glass submarine underneath. We got to see a lot of different colored fish, sea grass, etc, and we even got to see a sea turtle! The See part was a van ride up to the Queen's staircase and the Fort. We only had 20 minutes and spent some of that time using the facilities. Staircase was great to see but didn't get enough time to go down and back up. Port of call: Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas - We went on the 5 Star Island Tour. We went on a trolley like truck on a scenic view up the mountain to Mountain Top. They have the world famous banana daiquiris. If you love bananas, get one, just trust me! We went out on the balcony and saw a panoramic view of St. Thomas - Gorgeous!! We could see the world famous Magen's Bay beach. Then we drove down to Magen's Bay beach and spend 2 hours there. I am not a water person, but i got in the water there up to my neck and could still see my feet!! White sand beaches, though it was packed that day as there were 3 or 4 cruise ships in port that day. After that, we went into town and did some shopping! Port of Call: Phillipsburg, St. Maarten. What can I say about this place, but I fell in love with it! I want to fly down there and spend a week! The people were incredibly friendly and the place was beautiful and not rundown like St. Thomas was some. Trust me, St. Maarten was worth it! We did the Amazing Race excursion which I highly recommend if you are even just a little competitive. We had some issues communicating between the 3 of us, or it would have been even better. But we really enjoyed it. Keep in mind, you are running at times around town but they do force everyone to take a water break at midpoint which was nice. Overall, I truly enjoyed Oasis of the Seas. It was clean, though you could tell some of it needed some refurbishment, but it is set to go into dry dock just for that in 2019. I would love to go on it again after it is refurbished to see how it could possibly get any better! I am seriously planning my next Royal Caribbean cruise already and I have only been home a month! My wife and I took our 3 children, ages 11, 13, 15 on the Oasis of the Seas. I had been on a number of ships, but not the really big ones and wanted to try the Oasis. My expectations were reasonable, but they were not only met, but far exceeded. Never once did we feel crowded -- which was very impressive for such a large ship. The various dining options were phenomenal. I did a lot of research beforehand and wasn't planning on doing any of the specialty dining -- but once there changed our minds. Wow..we were glad we did. Giovanni's was terrific. 150 Central Park was out of this world phenomenal, and Chops Steakhouse was solid. The service in the main dining room was second to none and by far the highlight of the trip. We sat in Patricio's section with Damien, Rahul, Kunal and Wissem. You could not find a more personable, good hearted, warm, welcoming staff with a great sense of humor. They were so good, that my kids insisted on attending the My Time formal dining even when my wife and I attended the specialty restaurant. They were welcomed with open arms, treated like royalty and shown the time of their lives. It's a real testament to this group that the highlight of the trip was the dining room staff!! And that says alot, considering you couldn't get my 11 year old off the flowrider, which he must have did over 100 times. Speaking of the flowrider, it was awesome. The flowrider staff could not have been friendlier, more helpful and good natured. Between the dining room staff and the sports deck staff, you really felt you were amongst family...which was incredibly impressive. There were so many different highlights on this ship and the staff seemed to love their jobs and genuinely care. If I had to give a downside...I would say the WindJammer Buffet isn't visually appealing or organized that well. The food there was just ok...but the presentation/layout was sloppy. But considering SO MANY other phenomenal dining options, snack options, bars, breakfast options, etc... this wasn't too big of a deal. Hopefully they'll fix this soon. Overall, this was a great ship...with a great many really good options -- but what set this apart was the genuine, heartfelt service of the Dining Room staff and the Sports Entertainment Deck Staff. Royal Caribbean truly has some great people here that made our family feel loved and special. Well done!! Read Less

We sailed on the Allure (2014) and did not have the chance to enjoy the whole ship in 7 days. A B2B on the Oasis this time cured much of that and we would return to the Oasis Class ships in a heart beat. On both trips we had Central Park balconies. Enjoyed the view and the sounds. There were many placed to see the ocean. Inside cabin with perks. The ship was the destination although we explored food tours while in ports. We were amazed at the ease of both embarkation/disembarkation. The first week we really enjoyed the Ultimate Dining Package (Five Stars for service and quality). Week two in the Main Dining Room with a side trip to The Chef's Table one night (WOW). We understand cruisers reluctance to pay the extra for the extra dining experience, but it is with it. I challenge any one to really enjoy the pizza at Sorano's with all the other options. The Park Cafe on was our only let down. It suffer from minimal choices when you wanted a "small" snack after hours. The entertainment was a must but you need to know the reservation system, or you'll wait in the standby line. OK if you want to take pot luck on the seating and there usually is. We really wanted to see the production of "Cats" but it didn't meet expectations. Not because of the actor and dancers, but the length. a full broadway show had many leaving at intermission. On eating comment. The Meet and Mingle event was a waste of valuable on ship time. We expected more than raffle and a few breakfast treats. In and out early in the morning and rushing off to the Crown & Anchor event. Vary little if any interaction with Cruise Critic guests.
