Giovanni's was the only really good food. Chops and Izumi were ok not great. Windjammers was crowded without enough room for everyone Other breakfast areas had little choices. Took awhile for tables to get cleared Dinner in main dining room was awful...food was bland and tasteless. Service in dining room was okay, but not exceptional Got tired of saying no to photographers. Coke freestyle machines were routinely out of ice...secondary restaurants had very irregular hours. Duty free shop on board were selling nuts that are available in dollar stores Was there a cruise director? I have no idea. he was practically invisible. There is nothing to do from lunch till late dinner. Ports were good. Weather was good. Labadee was pretty useless I understand that the CEO of Royal Caribbean didn't take a cruise until he became CEO. Now he should go on Disney and see what the gold standard is like. Read Less

The food was mostly cheap and banquet style. The steaks were thin and tough and the fish was freezer burned. If you were ok with pizza and burgers every day you would be fine, but the other dinner fair was a disappointment. Of the three shows we wanted to see 2 of them cancelled. We were really looking forward to seeing Cats but one of the actors was injured. We also went on an excursion and the ferry taking us to the beach where we were going snorkeling was 1.5 hrs late. When we got to the beach the instructor said we had only 30-45 minutes to snorkel and we had to get back on the ferry. There was 8 or us so the excursion was about $700, thus a big disappointment. Also the rooms were stuffy and half of us got sick. We had issues with airflow the whole trip. Our neighbors had the same problem. Overall there were just too many people on the ship to get good personal service. Most of the time I felt like I was being herded like cattle. I will not be back. Read Less

I have cruised a dozen or more times over the years and this is absolutely the worst cruise ever. The cruise was meant to be special for us because last year I was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer which had spread to my lymph system. Although a rapidly growing cancer I received aggressive chemo and radiation therapies at Moffitt Cancer Center, here in Tampa and, I am on my way to recovery, I hope. The cruise was to celebrate life with my younger wife ( I'll explain why that's an important point later) and my two young daughters, aged 5 and 3. We had a couple of incidents with the photo people who were very rude and disrespectful, the chastised us for taking pictures on our cell phone. I mean chastised, not addressed or spoken to. We weren't even taking pictures of their special displays or backdrops, I was taking pictures of my kids in front of the Christmas tree and the car, both on permanent display. Not moments later, one of their staff was using a passengers cell phone to take HER pictures in front of the same display but, of course, she was a young woman, and I a man, my wife captured a video of him doing this. My wife is significantly younger than me, I am 63, she is 30. Now the point from earlier, it would appear because of our age difference that the photo staff didn't place us together and, on a couple of occasions I watched the openly flirt with her, I mean full on hitting on her. I'm not an insecure man, and I am glad they find her attractive, but it was typical of their unprofessional service. We decided to complain to customer service, mainly about the rude and discourteous way we were spoken to regarding the taking of pictures and how they selectively applied their rules to guests who were male or less attractive. Customer service told me they would have the photo manager Robert, meet with us to discuss our issues - he never showed up. Instead, Robert sent someone else, a female, who listed, never commented, and told me if I wanted I could write a letter to Robert. I still have her hand written note with his name on it. I never heard from anyone in photo again. I thought, when it was a female who came to meet with us that she would be more open to the nature of our complaints, but sadly, no. Customer service sent a bottle of wine to our cabin the next day which, although a nice gesture, I returned because we don't drink alcohol. Side notes: the food was terrible, high school cafeteria food is of a better standard, even in the main dining room the food was often cold, even the coffee! The food in the Windjammer was horrid, it forces you to spend additional money to eat in the specialty restaurants just to get something good, which may be Royal's intention. We had a brand new matching set of three Nautica cases, they got on the ship unscathed, but were literally destroyed in the process of getting them off the ship. Somewhere between being placed outside our cabin on the last night to picking them up in the luggage hall the next morning they were trashed - dents in all the corners of the hard sided cases, broken handles, deep scratches. We have pictures whic we will be glad to post up. All in all, a horrible cruise with the worst customer service ever. We were gold members at the start of the cruise and platinum members now, but that's as far as it will go because I cannot see wasting good money for bad service, and will likely never sail Royal Caribbean again. Food was cold, Dining room waiter was grossly sweating and dripping off his forehead, dropping things on a guest at our table, was not a happy person. The Matrade wasn't even friendly! The bartenders were not in a hurry to wait on you at all. The food in the Windjammer was always cold, hardly any fruit selection. Actually the food in the main dining room wasn't all that hot either. I was surprised to find out that they do not have a drink of the day anymore. There are no Ice or Fruit carvings anymore. No more midnight buffets. The elegance was also missing. Smaller ships are more elegant than this one! I feel as though we paid a lot of money to be greatly disappointed! Too big of a ship, not personable. We will be traveling on the Jewel of the Seas in April 2017, I sure hope things are better on that ship or we will be finished cruising with Royal Caribbean. Read Less

A Wonderful Adventure. My husband and I took his parents on the Oasis of the Seas cruise ship because the timeframe worked for us and Royal Carribean offered the Dialysis at Sea Program. My father-in-law, Ralph, wanted to go see Jamaica. We've cruised other ships before and enjoyed the experience. His dialysis days were on the days at sea. He reported the dialysis staff were warm and friendly. The very large ship and it's staff were great, although, my in-laws felt everything was a mile away. They enjoyed themselves. We had breakfast in the Solarium Bistro every morning because we had nice views of the sea, and the food was great. My mother-in-law tried accupuncture and she got a little relief from her pain. We rode ATV's in the jungle in Cozumel, a coastal boat tour in Haiti and an island tour with a stop for jerk chicken in Jamaica. It was quite an experience. Thank you Royal Carribean. Read Less

We chose to depart out of Port Canaveral. The closest port or home. The directions drivng to the pier were clear and precise. There were many employees present to assist you both on the ship and off. The food and the wait staff in the Costal Kitchen were fantastic. My only complaint would not being able to get reservations for Dine Around dining. As a suite quest there are many perks that arn't mention in the brouchure. The ease of disembakring plus reserved seating for most of the shows was well forth the extra expense. I won't travel any other way. I do wish in the cafes there were takeout containers to make taking food or drinks out. Once a show is over it is pure maddess trying to get and elevator. We found it was better to stay on deck 4 for the Casino or deck 5 for food and drinks. Over all it was a teriffic vacation that I would recommend to anyone. Read Less

Oasis of the Seas is a nice looking ship and getting onto the ship at Port Canaveral was very easy. Getting off the ship on the return trip was a nightmare! Departure started out okay in the meeting location, then everything went bad. We played a game of hide and seek for our luggage. Then we looked to get a porter but all were taken so we stood on the lines - this is where you get the meltdown. If you were lucky to get a porter then they took you to a special line and you got out. If you stood on line then you played the line game and kept going back and forth for over an hour. Customs needed more people to handle the amount of people on the ship. Cabin was okay and attendant was very good. Did not do any excursions, only got off ship at St. Maarten and paid $14 for water taxi, $20 for 2 lounge chairs and umbrella at Lizzy’s, and $17 for beach bag. Didn’t like “My Time” dining – needed reservations and the food wasn’t good: salmon wasn’t done too “flaky” was more like sushi, grilled chicken had gravy on it, lobster was too salty, lasagna was like beef-a-roni but didn’t taste good. Only liked Chops 11 out of 10 score! Izumi was just so-so, lots of food. Shows were excellent – Oasis of Dreams 45 min, CATS was 3 hours. Headliner was 1 hour. Come fly with me was 1 hour. Standup Comedy was 1 hour. Comedian was so good that there was an extra show added on Saturday night 10 pm. Frozen in time (ice show) was 1 hour. Had the Thermal Spa for the week $140.42 (included Gratuity) had great thermal beds (heated lounge chair), sauna, steam rooms, 2 rain showers, and large showers. I was very upset that most of the gym equipment did not work properly. There were all of four recumbent bikes, three of which could not be adjusted for resistance, incline, time or workout type, so you were pedaling against air only. There were numerous “regular” bikes, some of which could be adjusted and some of which could not be. The same goes for the treadmills. I did not try any weight machines, but I did see people using them and lifting free weights, so that might satisfy some. I went to the gym three of the first four days and then gave up in frustration. I didn’t bother to complain, as I expected the standard of “Oh, we’ll fix that for next week” or “How about $100 off your next cruise?” Too late for me! Overall, I would give the gym a zero! Izumi, the hibachi steakhouse, was all about cutting corners from the usual hibachi experience, even though it was an almost $30 per person upgrade as part of a three night Dining Package ($170 per couple). I expected food to be cooked to order, including the use of seasoning. I ordered my filet mignon medium rare, but mostly, it was medium-well and no one was asked whether they wanted theirs seasoned with anything. We also did not get a shrimp appetizer, so the chef resorted to tossing pieces of zucchini instead of shrimp, as is usual. They also skipped the fried rice noodles (“Japanese spaghetti”). For entertainment, they skipped the usual “oil fire” and the smoking “Mount Fuji” choo-choo train of sliced onion rings, so if you had kids experiencing hibachi for the first time, they got short changed. Overall, this was disappointing and would give Izumi a four out of ten. I would, however, recommend “Chops” steakhouse. The food and service were both excellent and worth the upgrade! We went there twice! Everything was delicious! The hot tubs were cold – maybe mid 80s – very unsatisfactory! For real craft beer ($5.95 – $6.95? + Gratuity) fans, they had Sierra Nevada Pale Ale ($7 w/gratuity), Unibroue La Fin du Monde ($7.67), Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA ($8+). The rest were crap. Worse, you could only get these at “The Globe and Atlas“pub, so if you were watching football at “On Air”, you had to chance giving up your seat to get another brew. My wife paid $363 (in advance) for a drink package that was upgraded to include bottled water; I went a la carte for my brews, which paid off! So you can figure your own break-even point. Read Less

We had cruised on Oasis of the Sea before and loved it. The ship leaving Port Canaveral was the reason we booked this cruise. The ship has so amenities it is like visiting different parts of the country; ice skating, rock climbing, the Aqua Theater, so many shops and restaurants on board. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The cabin was kept clean and the food is always wonderful. The activities are well planned and there is something for everyone. The ports are great for shopping. The transportation to the port and back to the airport is a big help when flying to the city. The valet service of getting your luggage to the airport and getting your boarding pass for you is one of the greatest things in making the disembarkation go smoothly - no hassle in walking out, going through customs and getting on bus to airport. A wonderful service!!! Read Less

Oasis of the Sea is very overrated. Anytime dining is a waste, you need to get set seating or you will have to sit and wait until everyone is seated and HOPE that someone does not show up. And actually we have had to argue with the head waiter to get seated, he always claimed no room but always seemed to find a table when we did not take no for an answer. Specialty restaurants are smaller because they had to accomadate having the boardwalk which you have to pay for ice cream and hot dogs, then you have central park a waste of time, no pace to really walk around the outside of the ship, no outside movies in the evenings, Guest relations only has approximately 10 people behind the desk the help out 5400 passengers, really and all they do is apologize. Today called for room service sat on the phone for over an hour!! Yes and hour just wanted to see how long it would take to answer and they never did. Overall BAD EXPERIENCE and would NEVER cruise on this ship again. Never had a problem when cruising on Princess Lines. Read Less

The best thing...we never once had to walk through the casino, nor had to go up a level or down a level to avoid it. It was out of sight and out of the way. LOVELY! To be honest the island stops weren't anything spectacular but on such a nice ship, it mattered little to us. My husband and son lived on the FLowrider most of the time. It was the best part of the ship for them. The Voom internet stopped working for me the last 3 days of the cruise. Don't know why, others in our group were able to log on but I wasn't. We chose this cruise because we were with 12 other friends and thought it would be fun. Boy I was wrong. No kidding we have been on many vacation's but this one ranked as our WORST. When booking our "Dream Vacation" we were lead to believe that if we spent extra with the Owner Suite / Sky Class we would received a private type Butler Style experience. NOT true the concierge was non existent. Lied to. Spa Services add 18% Auto Gratuity but Do NOT list the gratuity separately so when you go back to Guest Services on board to have it removed it can not be seen so it can not be removed. Deceptive.. The Fitness Area must be just below a smoking area all I could smell when working out was stale cigarettes. Gross. We went on the Oasis of The Seas a big ship with 6000 people on board. Everywhere you went there were hoards of people and crying infants, we felt like cattle being herded in a Mall. Elevators jammed pack all the time always waiting for another one. Everything was on a strict ship schedule, you miss breakfast by one minute and sorry the Kitchen is closed. I don't know about you but If this is MY Vacation I want to do things like eat when I want, not when they say so. Room Service 10 minutes for them to pick the phone, no in room menu, food is awful. I made several attempts to on board to rectify the problems we were having by waiting 1/2 an hour in the Guest Services line to talk with a Supervisor who did not have the email address of her Supervisor. She just shrugged her shoulders. She said sorry. I have sent several email no one contacts back. Good Luck if you ever have a problem. The bottom line is they DO NOT care. They just want your $$$$$. I sincerely hope that the super sized ship is not the way of the future. Oasis is VERY crowded. Long long waits for an elevator, lines for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Promanade reminds me of Times Square on New Years. Everywhere was simply terribly crowded. Windjammer never ready on time with long lines. Constantly running out of food and coffee! Last morning they opened 15 minutes late and had limited options which they quickly ran out of. 10 minute wait for refill on coffee. No one cleaning tables plates and garbage piled up everywhere. Restaurant had looooong line for "MY TIME DINING". Once seated 40 minutes to get appitizer and 2 hours for the meal. Only 2 bright spots were our room steward and debarkation which was the fastest we have ever experienced. We carried all our luggage and were in our car headed north at 7 AM. I chose this cruise to celebrate my 40th. Worst decision ever. Too many people, not enough staff. You are a number, not a guest. The food was horrible with very few options. Service was even worse! No one was friendly unless you were spending lots of money in casino or bars, etc. The upcharge dining options were nice, but more money of course. Prices listed on menus were different than what you were charged. Photo employees were not friendly and charged us incorrectly. Entertainment wasn't bad overall, just was not what I was looking for. I asked one question and was sent to 4 different people on three decks and never got an answer. My Time Dining was a hot mess. Would never recommend it. Waited 45 minutes to get a dessert menu. You can sit back and watch the chaos unfold right before you eyes. Everyone there seemed out of sorts and had no clue what the other was doing. No teamwork at all. The ice machine was broken in the WipeOut cafe the ENTIRE time. Also, the soda machine in the arcade didn't work. No employee seemed to care about it at all. Seriously, if you go on this ship, at least purchase the soda package. There are a few more of those around than the free water and tea they give you, because once restaurants close, you only have one spot to get it on the entire ship. They ran out of chocolate chip cookies every day. The others tasted like they were burnt, and they were severely overbaked, so much as I threw it on the counter and it didn't even break. We missed two of the ports of call due to a medical emergency and storms. We were re-routed to Labadee, RCI's island. While it was nice to visit and the jet ski excursion was great. However, they should have offered everyone a ship credit to use while there since they are profiting from it. I would never recommend this ship to anyone ever. The clientele has gone down in the few years that I was last on the Freedom. The ship does not live up to the hype given and you have to wait in line for everything. If you did not make reservations for dinner, shows, events ,etc, you won't get in. Another gentleman in the elevator was so upset that he stated he didnt want to plan his entire vacation, and on this ship you have to. If you have ever worked in the hospitality industry, you will be extremely dissapointed. Please do not waste your time or money on this ship. No one cares about your experience on it, even though they act like it. I was told to expect something at dinner one night after I made complaints, and what a surprise.....nothing. I have read several reviews for the "Oasis of the Seas" ship. I am convinced that some of these reviews were written by people who were either paid for the review, work for Royal or have never been outside of El Paso. For starters: The Ship is absolutely amazing. That human beings created such a vessel is an incredible sight to see. At times you forget you are on a boat. Kudos to the ship builders! If half the amount of pride was taken in running the ship as was taken in building it, you might have something truly special here. If you like long lines, horrible food, are over age 70, cant pass a basis IQ test, are allergic to stairs, want to buy a watch, love getting nickle/dimed at every corner of the ship and love sleeping in a bed that looks like a squashed flip flop - this is the boat for you! Ever wondered: "How many people can you REALLY fit on a 26 person elevator and why must I wait for others to get off before I get on?" Wonder no more folks! Sign up now and experience the newest ride on Oasis of the Seas - "Elevator Chaos!" You'll enjoy being squashed like sardines as morons bum rush an opening elevator door before you can get off. "Sorry, this elevator is full" is simply a mere suggestion. While this ride may sounds like a lot of fun, trust that the UCLA womens volleyball team are not the people you will be riding with. As the live comedian on-board stated (best part of the boat BTW): "You want privacy on this ship, use the stairs since no one else is..." If your idea of fine dining is Village Inn, you will be thoroughly pleased by your food options while on the Oasis! Someone on yelp actually stated that the food is better than a Vegas buffet. A) If you have ever been to Vegas, some are OK, some are bad.. Making food better than a Vegas buffet should never be that hard to accomplish. For example: two pieces of bread, a hot dog - Voila! B) I'll take a Vegas buffet any day of the week over the food they serve on the Oasis. The best "included" items you can get are chicken from room service and pizza in the mall - both are edible... Everything else is terrible.. Do you love powdered eggs? I mean do you REALLY LOVE powdered eggs? Then sign yourself up for the next departure. You'll enjoy all the powdered eggs you can eat for a week! You will also enjoy a "Formal" dining experience. Yea, the family next to you wearing jeans, an I Read Less

The first few days of the cruise the wind was so terrible that it made the pool impossible for our 5 year old to enjoy. Even on the days where the wind was absent (last two days) the area for a child that is so young is very small, kids say over 4' are probably fine, but anyone shorter and they are stuck in the toddler/infant pool (which does look comprehensive for the little little ones). I know many will argue why not use the kid care options, but I ask you, do you want to put your 5yo with a bunch of strangers, when they are all ready in a strange place away from home that has half the stuff of a day care and a 1/4 of the stuff of kindergarten? I'm sorry but we do not feel comfortable doing that to our child. The ice show was pretty good, and there were two diff water shows (diving) that were distracting but the shows do not run all week, the later half of the week had significant less shows. Now on New Years we were willing to put our child in the kid care, but then we found out they would not let you bring a pillow/blanket so that if your child falls asleep they could be comfortable (nor do they have a cot/place for your child to fall asleep). They expected the children to just watch movies and if they fall asleep on the rug so be it...again we opted to not be comfortable with that. I think if you have older children, the cruise probably is not too bad of a trip (but spend your money just going to an island rather then the cruise). The food at the restaurants was pretty good, some times excellent (some dishes were small portions but you could order more if you wanted). The buffet was pretty bad in my opinion. The cabin cleaning crew are awesome, hats off to them. They are helpful, friendly, courteous, just a great group of folks!! The ship shore times are short but you know that before you book it...don't do excursions, find your own fun and get a taxi, look for reviews for prices before you go do that though, also anything timed, set a timer and watch your time (jet skis for example, don't let a 30 minute rental be a 20 minute because they pull you in early). Most areas right were the boat docks are kinda dirty (especially Nassau). Take a taxi some where nicer for beaches. Over all, do yourself a favor and skip the cruise, go some where else directly. When you add up the air fair, any hotels night before/after, the cost of the cruise, the cost of on ship anything (stores, alcohol, soda, sundries, etc) it all adds up to something you could have had a very nice time some where else (i'd say for a family my size (4) we could have done Disney/Universal with a 3 day park hopper to Disney and 2 day park hopper to Universal) for about half the price... It's a magnificent ship run by staff that does NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PASSENGERS !!! This must be the biggest scam on passengers. There are so many of us willing to pay all this money for vacation and then we are consistently treated so extremely poorly. We have sailed on this and many other cruise lines. We understand clearly that things go wrong. The staff on this ship just DOES NOT CARE. We prepaid for options that did not show up on our account. Guest services told us Oh well .. Wait a few days and they will check... Wait a few days??? Our vacation is only 7 days!! Then we arrive in the Main dining room for dinner and other people are sitting at our table??? The dining room staff look at us like it is OUR FAULT.... All of us have the same time and table printed on our boarding cards. Sounds like an RCCL MISTAKE !!!! They were so rude telling us " maybe they would find us a table". After more than 30 minutes of standing around .... They allowed us to sit somewhere for the one dinner. Told us they didn't know what would happen for the next dinner. STAY AWAY FROM RCCL. IF WE STOP BOOKING RCCL THEY WILL SEE THEY NEED TO CHANGE THEIR RUDE BEHAVIOR WHILE ON BOARD THE SHIP ! What happens while you are booking, however nice your agent or your personal travel agent is, you need to know EVERYTHING CHANGES ONCE ON BOARD. They tell you on board their computers are "NOT LIVE WITH THE MAIN RCCL COMPUTERS". Your travel agent can assure your RCCL has your records clearly stating your booking. BUT ON BOARD THE SHIP THEY DO NOT HAVE THE SANE INFORMATION . Even when you show them your printed out pages ....clearly in English, clearly from RCCL, they still say it does NOT APPEAR in on board computer!!! BOOK ANOTHER SHIP WITH A DIFFERENT COMPANY!! The kids club is somewhat of a disaster as well. We brought the kids up to register on the second day and there were quite s number of kids lined up outside the club having discussions with their parents. I asked if the club was fun and each reply was similar that there were too many kids and the counsellors were rather unpleasant. I didn't take kids on vacation as a punishment, we are not despairing for adult only time, the kids don't get in our way..... So we chose not to leave them. There are plenty of kids that go .. Not sure if they are there willingly or with no other choice. SHOWS: the entertainment MUST be booked ahead. The number one sell out is the comedy show. The staff at the door there is NASTY so don't think you can sneak in, make up excuses or anything else. If you have a reservation you enter, if not you can wait on cancellation line. The earlier evening shows usually didn't have any no show reservations available . The 10:30 PM show had some, the midnight shows were wide open. On this ship there was only one professional ice show "Frozen in time" about Hans Christian Anderson... Not related to Frozen the movie . It was excellent as was the sand artist that was live during the show. Our Headliner show was also very good The diving show in the Aqua theater depends on weather, can get cancelled and rescheduled. The performers are extremely talented. Our sailing only offered one daytime parade. Originally someone said there would be 2 but it turned into only one. Yes a grand sight. Arrive early to get your position. The sad thing on this ship is if RCCL WANTED TO ... it could be the most fun week. If you are a first time cruiser you will be amazed by the grandeur and won't realize all the staff abuse is not the way it should be!! When reviews state bad staff, bad guest relations, bad experiences ... TAKE HEED ... these are the people, as we are, that have sailed many times before. Things SHIOULD NOT be this way. Again I say STAY AWAY FROM RCCL Read Less

My last cruise on RCCL was in 2007. Since I was very curious about the large ships, I booked a suite on Oasis of the Seas. I should have known with a Royal Suite opened 2 weeks before cruise, something wasn't right. Well, I should have listened to my "inner voice"! RCCL did an expansion on the 17th Floor to accommodate 2 Royal Suites 1701 & 1758. With this expansion, they also added a new kitchen for Suite Guests (great idea??). Well the problem with being in Suite 1758 is you share a wall with the new kitchen. It was horrible, loud noised coming from the kitchen the entire night and in early morning!! Also, in general my impression of RCCL is pack as many on a ship as you can and some will be satisfied and some will not. The service is terrible, the overall atmosphere is not good. The shining light was an individual named "Cherry" who took care of my cabin, she was great!! However, even in the specialty restaurants the service was mediocre and food was "okay". The past years I have mostly cruised on Celebrity and NCL. Celebrity has been good, I think I will stick to that for now. No more RCCL for me!! Read Less

Just returned from this cruise.. I don't know where to begin?? Be prepared to be nickel and dimed on this ship the minute you step foot on the boat, you are forced to have a maid clean your room twice a day, sounds great, but you are charged for this wonderful unnecessary service. The food was below standard, by the end of the cruise my group of 30 + were desperate to eat any food we could get off the boat. Each night we had a "fancy" sit down meal, the service was terrible, wrong food, delayed food, mostly bad food...etc. we had to complain every night to get a decent wait time.. I felt sorry for the waiters/waitresses they were not to blame, the system is clearly broken. One of our waiters performed a magic trick while we waited for our delayed meals… it was pretty impressive, it’s a shame the food did not magically appear on time.. Many of our cruise group missed there shows due to the long wait times. I booked an offshore trip on St Martens hoping for a break from the boat, the tour guides were good and informative. We were taken mid journey to a different beach than we booked, no warning..... My fiancé and I arrived at the beach and I kid you not for the entire time we were hounded by the local people selling foot massages with aloe leaves, cheap jewelry and other crap... The only break we had was a brief rain storm.. Then it was back to selling & hounding.. Tip: bring dark shades and earphones and pretend you’re fast asleep... Better still buy a "no thank you” t-shirt and point to it.. Despite the fact we had our own reserved section of the beach , the tour guides did nothing to stop the constant harassment. The food was okay.. The beach was not bad. We could never relax.. Couldn't wait to leave. Back to the ship, I had brought a new pair of Armani sun glasses for the cruise.. After our evening meal, they were gone from my room... I checked in guest services and was assured that any lost items were immediately send down to them. I told my maid that I knew the glasses were in the room.... She looked very worried..2 days later the glasses miraculously were anonymously handed in to guest services, the Rep was very surprised no one signed in who or were the glasses were found ... The cruise account system is a joke, I checked my account billing statement, I had a $135 charge, which was supposedly a “system error”. I was told everyone was charged this amount Scary.. As I continued to scrutinized my statement, I noticed an $800 spa treatment which I never took, this was quickly taken off my bill.. Today I just noticed a fraudulent $500 charge on my bank account in another state, I cannot prove this, but I think this has something to do with my recent Cruise Experience. Hid all your valuables or keep them on you at all times, yes they do have a small safe in your room, but I wouldn’t trust it.. Another one of my group couples entered their room for the first time and was overwhelmed with a mold & mildew smell, they immediately complained and asked to be relocated, the manager said “Sorry we don’t have any other rooms” (ship capacity 6,000), they attempted to clean& shampoo the carpet to not avail, the smell was just as bad… One of the couples had an allergic reaction throughout the entire trip and was constantly blowing her nose and had headaches.. To add insult to injury, on the last day they offered to move them to another room… too little too late.. And how was another room available if they were fully booked?? Did the occupants have enough, and jumped off their balcony. The staff were clearly not trained, you ask multiple employee’s a question and get different answers… unacceptable. Another couple had a terrible experience with the “Cruise Security People”, late at night there was a pounding on her door, she was alone in the room at the time and extremely worried as you can imagine, the idiots (Security People) demanded she open the door and did not identify themselves…and continued to pound on the door. I received a panicked call from my group member, and I went straight to her cabin. Outside her door were two idiots, I asked them what was happening, they said they heard loud noises from the room, they were acting like there was a bomb in the room, completely over the top and uncalled for. I entered the room and my group member was alone and having a video chat with her mom. She was scary out of her mind… When I explained this to the idiots that quickly left and apologized. I have been cruising for the better part of 20 years with several different cruise lines. It had been a while since we cruised with Royal Caribbean and had really wanted to go on one of the oasis class ships ever since they were launched. We decided over a year ago we would book 7 nights on the Oasis of the Seas for October 2015. i cannot tell you how excited we were for this trip and to experience this ship. This would be my teenage kids third cruise, and by far the nicest ship they had ever been on. My kids were also really excited, primarily for the food, as they get to eat better on cruises than any other time in their lives. The day finally arrived, we were boarding the Oasis of the Seas and were immediately in awe of the size of the ship, it is really an engineering marvel. Immediately upon boarding the ship we went right up to the buffet to get some lunch. We split off into separate directions of the buffet to see what they had to offer. Soon we all met up with little on our plates, it was immediately apparent that the quality of the food on this ship was poor and there was little variety. There were no stations cooking up fresh offerings (noodle bowls, sushi, etc) like we had seen on every one of our other cruises over the last 10 years. The best way I could describe the food and the quality is that of a very cheap local buffet restaurant that can be found back home. My kids ended up having french fries since this was the only tasty thing they had to offer and then we hit the pool. While the ship does have several pools, there is also twice as many passengers on the ship which results in human crock pots during any prime pool times. There is a small "lazy river" for the kids. As we walked by the lazy river we could see toilet paper and human waste floating by through the glass, it was completely disgusting. As the first day progressed we began to notice a trend all over the ship, the staff was obviously annoyed by the guests. Anyone we talked to acted as if we were an inconvenience. This was the first time we have ever experienced this on a cruise ship. While I know cruise staff are regularly over-worked and not always paid extremely well across the industry, it is still very seldom that we would not get at least a smile out of the staff on the other cruise lines. On the Oasis of the Seas, it was never a smile, more of a scowl. There were rare exceptions, particularly from bar staff that were trying to get an additional tip. Our first night in the dining room, we were finally going to get some good food. The dinner started out with the normal bread server coming around. One thing we learned after the first night is to get more than one piece of bread, because it is going to be a long time before any other food is going to show up. It was not uncommon for it to take 30+ minutes between courses. As for the food quality, it was mediocre at best. There was several times that items were stale, and when my wife brought this to the attention of the waitress, she acted as if she already knew it was stale and just offered to bring out a different meal. Of course, she declined since we had already waited over an hour and a half for dinner, she was done waiting. Every night in the dining room was the same, so we decided to bite-the bullet on one of our last nights and go to the one of RC's premier (pay) restaurants. We chose "Chops" which was their premier steakhouse that cost an additional $40 per person, which is quite a bit considering we already paid for an all-inclusive cruise. However, we were ready for a good meal. Unfortunately we experienced the same problems in Chops as we did in the dining room. The food was okay, better than the dining room, but also not cooked well. My wife's steak, which she ordered medium, was completely raw. This was after we waited over an hour to get the steaks. The staff was very apologetic about the wait on the steaks, they said they had a kitchen problem. We also expected that the service at chops would be better considering the price, however it was not. Overall, the experience was not worth the extra charge. Time and time again we noted how the overall service and quality of everything on the ship was way lower than other cruises we had been on. This was discouraging considering the last cruise we had been on (Carnival) cost us less that 1/4 of what we paid for the Oasis of the Seas, and everything was better on the carnival cruise. I could really go on all day about the things we did not like on this ship, but I wont. I will however bring up a couple of the good things. The shows on the ship are great, well designed productions, some of the best we have ever seen on a cruise ship. Also, RC did a great job of getting everyone on and off the ship quickly during embarkation/debarkation, which is amazing considering how many people are on this ship. If you are thinking of booking a cruise on the Oasis of the Seas anytime soon, DON'T!!! Read Less
