We sailed on Oasis of the Sea on Dec 17, 2017 to Eastern Caribean. We were very disappointed. The air conditioner did not work in our stateroom and we were given a fan by our stateroom attendant, he was really nice. We were on floor 12, the view was awesome. I found an insect/bug in my food plate at windjammer, when i informed the person in charge, he said "I cannot do anything. Sorry!" Picture is attached with this review. The food is very mediocre. Frozen in Time was good. Cats is the worst show I have ever seen in my life, most of the people left the Opal Theatre in less than 30 minutes. There were technical issues for Aqua show and all slots got automatically cancelled. However they performed on the last sea day during noon when it was quite sunny and we could not enjoy it. Time during port of calls is so short that we could not see the ports that well. We will never sail RC. Read Less

I am a loyal (or was) RCI cruiser, but was shocked to find that my long time status as a Diamond Plus C&A member was downgraded on this cruise. People rarely like it when expected loyalty rewards are taken away with or without prior notice, and I am no different. So I say “beware Diamond Plus “: 1. You will no longer have access to all lounges but will now be restricted to only one. 2. You will no longer have priority reserve seating at theatres and special performances. 3. You will no longer have access to all dining venues. 4. Beach privileges at Labadee are restricted to the common areas, former private beach access and cabanas are now off limits. I booked the Chef’s Table experience again as I always enjoy that, but was late for the venue because it was staged in a lounge that Diamond Plus is now denied access to. I could not get in! If you have enjoyed your well earned C&A loyalty perks in the past, just know that those perks appear to be disappearing. Read Less

Port of Canaveral allowed us to drive our family easily, Ship itself. Would return due to quality of entertainment. Staff have a notably positive attitude, and seem genuinely interested in providing us a great time. All ages were aboard this holiday cruise (17 Dec to 24 Dec) and families with disabled folk all managing well. Kids seemed to be having a blast - at all ages. Extraordinarily diverse guests from all over USA, Scotland, Brazil, Thailand, etc. We dined without an upcharge (treating four grown kids) but enjoyed the array of options including room service, dining room, buffets, pizza at all hours, solarium. Hot tubs never over-crowded. Floors always kept clean and clear. Massive ship had minimal motion of the ocean - enough though to wonder how ice skaters and stage dancers could land their spins and flips! I was fascinated with the quality of musical talent in the club shows, and would look forward to that facet of my next cruise. Read Less

Wasn't really expecting this quality from Royal Caribbean. Poor stateroom (Balcony), worn off carpets, smelly and musty, worn out. Stateroom is small, poor layout (my small 7 & 9 year couldn't fit in the pull out bed). Balcony was not cleaned, poor ship layout, all of the shows were poor quality except aqua. everything looks like you have to pay and felt like we were in a shopping mall with deals here and there, buy this buy that...we could get that in a mall, didn't felt like a vacation! staff in main dining room were exceptional, will recommend if people are going in Oasis of seas. Labadee felt like a trap with everything you have to pay for any activities, would not recommend to anyone. felt more like a summer office picnic in a park where you have to pay for it! food outside of main dinning were so so and activities were average. rock climbing was good but apart from that very poor swimming pool and its layout. Where do i begin. As we planned for the holidays for a 6 room trip with the family, we were pretty excited. Since day 1 nothing went as planned. We were all supposed to have anytime dining and they checked us in different times and didn't sit us at the dinner table together as a family. Secondly, one of our rooms was a complete disaster. The fire hydrant went off all over our bed, so instead of staying on the island we had to stay in our room to wait for crew to come fix it. They were little concerned about the inconvenience and the manager only cared to know "how many pieces of clothing was sprayed and to let him know tomorrow when he came back". He did not ever come back. After that, our bathroom toilet decided to overflow when we were not in the room and went all over our personal belongings in the bathroom. Not a single apology and when we finally decided to complain, they said they were "working on issues and to not flush anything but toilet paper". Basically implying we flushed something down the toilet? That was another day wasted trying to get our room situated. As a family, we decided to do shore excursions through caribbean. Particularly, snorkeling where we booked a "pirate ship" where a treasure hunt and turtles in water were promised as apart of the excursion. Not only was there not pirate ship, we were told there hasn't been anything like that in the water and we would not see any turtles at this time. Why would they sell us a package for that? So we thought, ok we wont do that excursion and get a refund as the represented promised they would do for inconvenience. So we went to guest services, where they did not refund the entire purchase but a measling $7 per ticket. The excursion was $70 a piece and we had 11 people for labadee snorkling. How is that acceptable? We also booked snorkling on st. Thomas in which they prompted us to the location or we would miss it. The excursion then advised us to wait patiently, 2 hours later our grandfather passes out and has a heat stroke. They promised we would have beverages and on the boat in less than 10 minutes. After we got our grandfather back to the boat, they advised us they werent taking us to island and little to no fish were even in the waters since the hurricane irma. Again, how is that acceptable practice to sell excursions that they know they aren't providing? Thats called false advertisement. We wouldnt have cared if they refunded us the full amount for 11 people on both excursions. They just refunded 1 and $7 dollars off $70 per person on the other after being promised they would take it off. basically robbed us of $693 dollars while causing a heat stroke to a grandfather. in all of my years as a business owner and working in federal government, i have never see a cruise liner not fix a ugly situation like this. Between all of us, we have completed well over 100 cruises and may never return to royalcaribbean. Only positive, was dinner staff. Even some of the shows were cancelled due to malfunctions. Incredible! Lastly, when they came and santizied our bathroom, my wife had a chemical reaction to chemicals used and not properly removed!! Read Less

Terrible experience with dirty stained carpets and odors The boat is very unstable and regardless of sea conditions it seemed as if the boat stabilizers were not well deployed. Numerous members of the behind counter service staff were unfriendly and not at all pleasant. The dishware was at times dirty especially the coffee cups were apparently not checked or properly washed. The beverage machines were not well cleaned and the dispensers on some with had residue from use even at the onset of the cruise. The coffee was not brewed well and at times not more than colored water. I realize that this takes away from those who seemed genuinely aware of you needs and friendly but more than one time I heard the phrase of "O you come from a very rich place" The presentation and condition of the ship and ancillary equipment as well as the disregard of common courtesy as noted needs to be dealt with. Allowing person to cut in and push through departure lines is unacceptable. I have cruised many other times and expected so much more of Royal Caribbean Read Less

We have sailed with Royal Caribbean in the past. And we like their customer service both dining room and house cleaners. A wonderful experience. Because of the staff of Royal Caribbean we will stay loyal to Royal Caribbean. We enjoyed the shows, dinner and other entertainment. Meet lots of nice folks while relaxing by pool side and dinner. Looking forward to our next cruise. Our best experience was the dining area. The waiters at table 672 made dinner most enjoyable. So I will add that the pool area was always clean.... my only complaint was getting on board the ship. folks still leaving at 11:00 AM and we could not get a porter so we carried our own luggage on. Life would have been easier had the ported did the work. Hope it will be easier getting on the next cruise. Cape Canaveral is our favorite port. So we will be doing most of our sailing out of there. This cruise is for third world cruisers only... There are plenty of hot dogs and hamburgers served at every meal so you will be too full to get to the 'decent' food !!! (they serve them at every lunch and dinner!! ) They charge 8.36 for a 16 oz Bud !!. The food in the WindJammer is so-so - and many times, you have to wait to be seated in the buffet area! The Dining Room service is not-too-good. We sat at our table for 25 minutes with just water..no bread, no drinks, no nothing!! The Baked Salmon is white / pink-ish. Do you know what farm raised salmon eat? Please check out the farm raised salmon diet - NOT PRETTY!! The food on / in all areas is sub-par, The 'Prime Rib' is orange..Not red! They have the nerve to advertise the Central Park area of the ship - but they fail to mention that you can only enjoy the are if you pay an extra 100.00 or more to eat in the 'up-scale' restaurants in Central Park. ( FYI - There is ONE free cafe in Central Park - but the food selection is limited and the wait times are crazy other than this cafe..PAY UP! ) Oh..Did you want popcorn to go with your entertainment choice?? Good! That will be 2.50 for a small cup of popcorn! ! Oh..Did you want decent Mexican food? Pay an 18.00 dollar cover PER PERSON and you will get some decent Mexican food. This cruise is a total rip-off. Unless you want a sub-par dining experience, OR unless you have an extra 100.00 per night, this isn't the cruise for you. P.S. Oh! You want to take a 2 hour behind-the-scenes tour of the ship?? Perfect! It'll cost you 119.00 PER PERSON for the privilege of doing so.. Stay Away!!!! Double P.S...The coffee stations in every area served excellent coffee all day! The deserts in the dining areas were average to above average.. Read Less

After experiencing royal Caribbean for the third time I can say without a doubt they are the worst cruise line experience I’ve had. After paying full price for our rooms and amenities and beds my 3 cabin mates and I were sold a room without adequate sleeping space without any warning or hint that we would not all receive beds to sleep in at night. After finding there would be only enough space to accommodate 2 to 3 max for a sofa bed not even a true bed let alone for 2, we were told that they would try to accommodate our need for enough sleeping space after realizing we had been shorted. This took place approximately at 1:00 pm and we trusted the accommodations issue would be resolved. If we had any idea we would not have adequately accommodated we would have demanded them to cancel the booking and exit the vessel. Of course this never happened instead quite the opposite of helping occurred. After going on the oasis for a week I can say that they most definitely have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. After walking onto the ship and waiting for the hallway to be opened to get to our rooms we entered the room to encounter a foul odor like fecal matter or something rotten throughout the cabin that we could not identify along with a dirty toothbrush on the floor. Not only was the room foul and unbreathable after explaining it, it was then masked by some type of cleaner after asking if there was anything to get rid of the smell. After coming back to the room hours later it reeked of some type of cleaning supply with the old foul odor along with it causing it to be horrendous and causing us all headaches. To top the experience off my three cabin members and I were sold a room with only two beds for 4 people, mind you one is my sister one is my uncle and one is a family friend who is another man. This being said there was nowhere for us to spread out or sleep with only two beds and not only that but one bed is actually a sofa bed not what you expect to sleep on for vacation and the other bed is the size of two doubles. When we asked a crew member who worked with the cabins if they shared beds downstairs in their cabins they said no without hesitation meanwhile the managers on board said oh you all can share the bed. Nowhere when we paid did for the room online or when we got to the checking counter to board were we told that the beds would be shared. Nor if there are 4 people paying full price for cabins not all will receive a bed to sleep in. When we went to the customer service desk the management and supervisors were the rudest most inattentive unhelpful and poorest customer service members I have ever in all my years dealt with and I’ve worked in the same industry. When we explained our situation the assistant manager at the purser’s desk Julieta essentially said “hey” just deal with it not my problem. Just imagine buying a seat on an airline and come to find out they don’t have a seat for you and tell you just stand or sit on someone’s lap for the flight. One of the members said ‘okay so what do you want from me cause there’s nothing I can do’ with an attitude. Never have I dealt with such rudeness especially when I’m paying for a bed and a room to breathe in fresh air for a vacation that I saved money to relax on. They continued this behavior with two different managers and three different supervisors, I was appalled and could only come to the conclusion that Royal Caribbean is horrible and does not care about its customers even though they paid to enjoy themselves. They could not even get an apology or a sorry that we could not help you or I understand but here is this instead. None of that took place it was just a go away we took your money and we now have what we want so deal with what you are stuck with since we shorted you. It was so bad throughout the week that I wanted to get off at the first stop and try to see how we could get back to port. It was truly the poorest customer service staff and experience I have had not only for a cruise line but in general for any company, truly shocking and not what you would expect from such a line especially after experiencing Carnival, Princess and Norwegian. Last Minute deal. Seems to be good price, until you get on board and Oasis is charging for everything. We booked this cruise while on board of Harmony - on the previous week, so we had fresh and recent information on how Harmony was operating. On Oasis they did not honored the prices that shows on the App, charged gratuity for EVERY single transaction on board. Overall ship seems to be not well mantained. Last time we were on Oasis was on a transatlantic trip in 2014 and ship was in much better conditions. Food declined in quality. It seems to be made to "fill you up" and not to savour. Deserts were just cakes, nothing special. Mouses were made of gelatin, meat was low quality. Windjammer crowded, long lines and subpar food. Park cafe used to have very good sandwiches and at this time was just BIG piece of bread with a small slice of something. Read Less

I chose this cruise line because I was told it was the best. The cabins are too small, I requested early dining and was given late dining and the dining crew refused to correct the mistake that they made, and the guests can't do their own laundry because Royal Caribbean doesn't supply a room for laundry or ironing. Overall this cruise line "SUCKS". The crew need to attend a "Customer Service" class, because out of 7 days I only seen maybe 2 people smile and ask to assist you. As for the ports, my husband and I had a nice time. The ports that I enjoyed the most were Jamaica and Cozumel, because these ports knew how to entertain their guests and make them happy. As for the entertainment, I don't think you should have to make reservations to see a show. It should be first come, first serve, because everyone didn't know they had to reserve a spot to see the shows. But to be honest I would never cruise with Royal Caribbean again. Read Less

I chose this cruise due to the best timing on Royal Caribbean, we had used them in the past and were impressed. This cruise ensured that we will NEVER use Royal Caribbean again, this was a horrible experience, we spent an hour + in line at guest services 5 times, meaning we spent more times in line at guest services then either of our ports of call combined. One of our ports of call was canceled and our itinerary changed several times throughout the length of the cruise. The staff was uncaring and seemed tired of being there, no one was apologetic for destroying our luggage during transportation to our room, not giving me my status, charging us for drinks covered on the unlimited drink package despite us having the drink package, charging us the on-board cost of shore excursion that was re-booked when the ports of call changed and not the price we paid online prior to boarding, not giving us our status discounts, etc. It seemed like every day something wrong was happening and they were just trying to nickel and dime us for everything. The company didn't care about its customers and therefore the staff didn't either. The services on this boat was horrible - good luck trying to get a drink at any meal - we were lucky if it showed up before desert and that was when we were able to find someone to place our order. The only good things on the boat were the ice skating show and the aqua show (the twice that was actually performed). Read Less

No apology. Watch out for the casino. They will over serve you then gladly accept numerous charges on your room for more money to gamble. The ship did not make a single destination as promised. One was skipped, the third stop skipped, and the first stop (labadee) was hit on the way back. We bought special dive equipment for the third stop (cozumel) that was booked through a third party (so no refund)...on my mother in law's actual birthday day. Planned for a 17 person reunion. Requested table seating for the group. Never got it, never even offered to resolve for another night. Very little to do that does not cost extra money. Lied to about the non-alcohol drink cost then had a very snooty guest services guy try to tell me "too bad". Fixed but left bad taste. Cruise team doesn't know their own ship or what is offered. There is no kids free zone - and worse, they have two distinct kids areas but put them at opposite ends of the ship so you can never escape kids yelling and screaming. No quiet area for dinner because you are always surrounded by kids or jammed into a room with a 100 other tables. Shows are ok, but how many musicals can one really go to in 7 nights... it certainly is not 7! Cabins are nice although we were in a unique space (bow center rows) so we did not have the drunks or screaming kids racing up and down the hall or laughing and banging on walls late at night. The boat is too big with very few ports it can get in to... so if a port of call is cancelled, there is nothing else to do but float around in the ocean. Labbadee??? Laughadee... pretty blah food, way to far to get lunch, no water being moved around on carts, lousy beach with alot of rocks (like break your ankle rocks), one good beach overcrowded, ridiculously expensive excursions considering it is their own island! Falmouth - uh, bring your big credit card - all there is to do is shop, or eat at margueritaville (which you can do for 1/2 the price in the US, or dairy queen... I mean really, this was a HUGE waste of time... oh and the people who are giving you advice on jewelry information??? They are just marketing people for the port... I gave the cabin a 4 because ours was nice, however, be careful... my husband broke his toe on the door jamb... really poor design... NEVER again. Read Less

Worst Guest Services in the world. My wife sustained a severe injury while riding the “Zip Line” on the ship. On the approach to the landing platform, her left foot struck the open glass panel which protrudes into the path of the zip line. She is not very tall, only about 5’ 5” and her knees were bent per the instructions. In no scenario, should her foot be able to reach the glass panel. The distance between the cable and the glass panel is not sufficient to prevent mishaps like this. This is an un-mitigated safety hazard! A single gust of wind or ship movement can cause a catastrophe. Even though this accident was horrible, the crew’s response following the accident was far more horrible. No one offered any sympathy, apology or simple assistance. The crew, especially “Guest Services” ignored our numerous requests for help. They did not even offer a wheel chair or call to see how she was doing! Furthermore, they were rude and dismissive. I was shocked at the lack of response. Any professional establishment would immediately support an injured guest. No one seemed to be in charge. Several times, we asked to speak to a manager, or director. We were never able to speak with any crew member with authority. Overall, the food was ok, nothing special. The specialty dining meals (extra charge) were good. The buffets were mostly bland. The entertainment was decent. I liked the stand-up comedy, "come fly with me" and the aqua show. The spa was average. They actually gave us the wrong spa service, something different than what we booked. The spa didn't have a relaxing atmosphere. Read Less

The seminars at the gym were basically a repeat of each other and seemed to be too personilised to the instructor. The cost of a replacement knee due to poor diet went up from $ 50,000 to $ 70,000 in 2 days. Wifi was slow and very expensive. We are not cruisers but this was our 25th Anniversary so we thought we would give it a try. We were overjoyed at the quality of all aspects of the trip. From our stateroom to meals, drinks, entertainment, activities, cleanliness...you name it and it was top notch. Every person working on the ship is working hard to make sure everyone has a great time. You can't ask for more than that! The quality of the shows were unexpected on a cruise ship. I travel to New York frequently to see Broadway shows and didn't expect shows a cruise ship to be comparable. Kudos to Royal Caribbean for bringing in quality entertainment on board for all to enjoy. The waiter Richard and Assistant Waiter Chadwick went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful experience for all that were in their group. I highly recommend Oasis of the Seas as a vacation. Read Less

We had taken a Carnival Cruise, so we wanted to see if RC was any better...it was NOT. We had an exterior balcony room. The whole time we were at sea, there was an inconsistent tapping noise coming from the outside wall, which at times were very loud. When brought to the attention of the stateroom attendant, he simply said it was a joint that allowed the ship to flex and that nothing could be done about it. Did not get any sleep for the entire cruise, except a nap once in a while during the day at a port. The ports were the only thing keeping us from jumping on a plane back to the states. We purchased the soda beverage package...which was another mistake. You could only access the drink machines on 2 levels (out of 17). Rarely were we able to get the drinks we wanted due the machines either being out of ice, the drinks we wanted, or carbonation. Other than the ports, we had a great time in the main dining room during our dinner meals. The wait staff seemed to be the only ones that cared about our satisfaction. The ship had entirely too many guests aboard, making any activities almost unbearable. Lines for everything, like being in an overcrowded amusement park. Shows were by reservation only, but by the time we figured out how to make any, the things we wanted to do were booked up. We did get in to see the comedy show, after waiting in the stand-by line for an hour. Overall, I would give this cruise less than a star...if I could. Read Less

On the last day they ran out of strawberry daiquiri mix and also pina colada mix. So therefore the drink I wanted I could not order. 6.) Staff told us at the counter that reservations were not needed for the nightly comedy club. So on the first night we went down there and you needed reservations so we were unable to watch it due to the extensive will call line. 7.) We traveled with a group of 10 for a total of 5 rooms. We wanted all to sit at the same table in the dining area. The first night we were split up and was unable to sit at the assigned table for four due to the party sitting there did not want to move. 8.) The people selling stuff in Labadee were entirely too pushy and their sales tactics were unacceptable. They made one of the kids cry as they were attempting to sell her a bracelet. They trapped my wife and daughter in one of their shops. We did tell the wait staff when we went to dinner that night. 9.) While in Labadee we were unaware of the food hours. When it was time the local wiped out the ENTIRE fruit and condiment areas loading bags and backpacks so we were unable to get any fruit unless we wanted to head back to the ship. I could go on and on about this cruise. This was the first and LAST cruise with Royal Caribbean as my family will cruise with Carnival where the food is better, staff is friendlier and cost is considerably cheaper. Read Less

The ship-We love the total package and all the amazing varieties of things to do, eat, and be entertained by. The Oasis is an awesome ship. Love the shows, Central Park-is where we renewed our vows for our 50 year Wedding Anniversary- it was amazing! We Celebrated with family of 11 people with a special anniversary cake, activities ceremony and a week of amazing activities, such as excellent beaches on the islands with swimming, sun bathing, snorkeling and an amazing barbecue lunch. Took the alpine roller coaster ride , which was a blast! Our teenage grand children had plenty of activities too with a full basketball court, table tennis, putt-putt golf and wave rider. With The food, shows and pampering, we both even got hair styled and loved results.. Will continue to travel Royal Caribbean. It's quality and family friendly offerings are the best. We had a fabulous vacation. Read Less

We enjoyed our cruise. every thing was easy. exciting and fun. never a dull moment. shore excursions fun and entertaining. so many neighborhoods. staff is great, food is good the shows were fantastic. there are so many things to do. The age of my group ranged from teenager to senior citizen. There was always something to do. the different neighbor hoods were exciting and fun filled. I absolutely loved central park. Watching my family on the zip line, the wave rider, basketball, pool, watching the parades, exploring the ship. We can not leave out the broadway show cats, the ice skating show, the show in the aqua theatre, dancing, getting dressed for the formal dinner. Letting my grandson see different ports and just watching the sun set on the horizon from our balcony. We always knew where we were thanks to the television having a station that kept us updated on our location. thanks oasis of the seas out of port Canaveral. Read Less

My husband and I chose this ship because we wanted to experience the mega ship experience. Our stateroom was dirty. I had to get extra linen on the bedding because it we so thin and worn. The fold out couch had stains all over it. I had a sheet to cover that too. The whole room needed a good cleaning. The mirror and the furniture were dusty and streaked. I found a used kotex backing on the side of my bed. The toilet and tv needed service during our stay. The main dining room was a joke. Service was very slow. The food was average. The Chef put Tarragon on everything. On Formal Night no one dressed up. At the evening dinners men wore shorts and flip flops. There is a dress code, but is not enforced. The buffet at Windjammers is crowed and its every man for himself. The wait staff don't bring drinks, nor do they do much of anything. There seems to be a management problem on the boat. I never saw anyone in charge; it was a every man for himself atmosphere. The drill for lifeboat safety made me feel insecure. A television was turned on in a public place and we were to watch a stupid show on it. I looked around and no one was paying attention. The ship does not have life jackets in your room. Your suppose to pick up one from team member at your meeting place. Like that is going to go smoothly in an emergency. The Comedy Show was very popular, but was put in a room that holds 100 people, which you needed reservations to get into. There were other open venues with much larger arenas that could have been used. Seems like all the action on the ship started at 10pm and after a long day we couldn't make it to any of them. I could go on and on about what a terrible experience we had but I won't. I think this is probably a good ship for people with children over the age of 12. If your into quality service don't do this cruise. Read Less
