We like to cruise every year my family Husband and two teenage boys. This was our 5th cruise and our second on Carnival. We flew to New Orleans and stayed at the Four Points Sharaton located in the French Quarter ( not recomemended for families as it is located on Bourbon St in the middle of the French Quarter and the Kids will not enjoy the experience. Young Adults who love to party will love it. The cruise from New Orleans was a nice change from other cruises as the first part of the cruise we were able to sit on the Balcony and watched the river it was nice to not be out to sea until well after sunset. Again on the return trip watching the lights along the river was relaxing well worth the balcony. The Embarkation was quick and pain less from the hotel check out to the Lido deck was approx. 30 minutes total. We checked out at 1055 and we were on board at the Buffett by 1130. Dining we were assigned the Upper Golden dining room First off our servers in the dinning room were excellent. Sunu, Myat and Tangkas were friendly and quite fun we enjoyed conversations and had a great time with them. The dancing during table service was fun. However, I do not like the set dining times. I tried to get My time dining and was on a wait list and had the late dining. This is my biggest complaint for Carnival. They seem to try to co-ordinate shows for the various dining times however, I feel I miss something when I have the late dinning times and there is one show. You really have to look at the Fun Times to get the best of everything. I did not have very many hot meals warm but not Hot. The meals were delicious. Soups were usually hot but not the main courses. When you are feeding 1500 people between two dining rooms at one time that can be challenging. The Sea day Brunch was well used on this particular cruise. Line ups when ever we attended. The service was slower but I didn't have to fight the crowds at the buffett. (TIP) Check the Fun Times for the days the dining room is open on Port days there are far fewer people these days in the dining room as most don't realize it is open. The Kids programs My kids were engaged and I rarely saw them one was with the Circle C group and the other was with the O2 and both were gone off to the activites and did not come looking for me what so ever. I was usually in bed before they were. They both loved the cruise. On the first day a parent needs to check them in we did not realize that you could sign them in earlier in the day, and the sign in was at 830 and our dining was at 815 in the middle of our dining time. Our kids rarely ate with us other then the one manditory dinner I make them have with me. The clubs break for dinner if you have an early dining time it works out for you, me not so much. Entertainment We were able to get to one show the Motown it was excellent I have seen this production on another ship and it was still a good show. If you like Motown you will enjoy the show. The Comedy club This seemed to be a hit. It was a packed room every night for the late show at 10:00. We made the 11:15 show once and we made the pg show with our kids at 7:00 a few times. There were four different Comedians and we saw all four they were great. The Sing along with Cassidy-Rae She will be leaving the ship in a couple weeks so If you have the chance go into the Cinn-o-bar and sing along. Cassidy-Rae will try to full fill your requests. She downloaded the song Beth by Kiss listened for a short amount of time and was able to play the song and did an awesome job. Impressive how she is able to figure out the cords and play as quickly as she did. The Art Auctions I enjoy the Art auctions it is entertaing during the day. If anything go for the Champagne. Jade the Auctioneer and his team were excellent he did try to put everyone's request up for bidding. He spent a few minutes describing different pieces and moved along quickly as possibe. He did not completly focus on one artist which was nice. I did not attend the presentations as I had seen the Peter Max and Thomas Kinkade presentations on previous cruises and I was not interested. The Team were quite attentative during a discusion Kayla had picked up that I liked a certain artist and dug deep into the vault to pull out a picture that would not normally have come out on the floor. Which was nice to see they appreciate the cruisers and don't put what they want out on the floor. If you are looking for an artist be sure to ask this team they will find what you are looking for. Ports Montego bay; Grand Cayman; Cozumel Montego Bay there is nothing immediately off the ship. It is quite a walk to the downtown and the beach with the Markets. We decided to do an excursion through the ship as I wasn't sure if I would be left behind with the relaxed Jamaican attitude. Carnival will not leave you if you if you book through them there was a tour who came back late and the ship waited. River rafting and Beach Adventure. The River rafting was excellent had a great time not too physical. be sure to bring along some money to purchase drinks along the way. The Beach portion of the tour, I could have done without. We went to the Hard Rock Cafe Beach it was small and you had to pay extra for the use of chairs and umbrellas on the beach. It was a very small beach and a lot of Jelly fish were in that day. Good thing the beach visit was only an hour. Grand Cayman Lots of shopping right off the ship. We shopped till we dropped and enjoyed the day. Cozumel Again shops right off the ship. I have been to Cozumel before and should have done an exucursion here this time, to enjoy myself. And since this is a popular port with 6 ships in port. Excursions will book up. If you like the markets in Mexico then it wasn't a bad day. Other then it was soooo hot. but, you can't control Mother Nature. Carnival Hub App This is a great way to quickly look up where to eat and the activites of the day. You can track your spending and book excursions. There is also a chat between cruisers for $5 per device. I do recommend downloading the App. (TIP) Read the Fun Times as well. As not all activities are on the App. For example The App stated check in to the Camp Ocean was at various times however, this was also for the older groups as well and I would not have had to go during dinner. I didn't know it referred to all the Kids Clubs. And some repetitive activites are not always on the App. They are getting better with the App and I suspect Carnival will go paperless soon however, it still needs some work. I avoided the Casino and activies near the casino as much as possible since it is the primary smoking area and I don't not enjoy the smell of smoke. Which is hard to do since it is in the middle of the ship. I found there were some ignorant smokers who were smoking practically everywhere. If you can believe one guy was smoking in the elevator. Another on the balcony. The ventilation on the 5th floor is not great and you do smell smoke around the Casino. Most portraits are in this area and I did not wish to be in Elegant dress and walk through smoke. Disembarking We had a late flight and wanted the latest possible time off. We enjoyed breakfast in the dinning room and waited up on the Lido deck until they called our number. The line moved with little wait and the whole process was less than 15 minutes. TIP: Pack a sweater/jacket as the air conditioning works very well on this ship. I often went outside to warm up. All and all my family and I enjoyed our vacation and will cruise again. Read Less

The Carnival Glory is a grand ship that is pleasing to the the eye. Every detail of this ship has been carifully and magically created by the designers. The staff was friendly and informative about the activities that were happening aboard the Carnival Glory. The cleaning team under Aurelio care did a fantastic job of keeping the rooms clean and I enjoyed that they folded the towels into animal shapes. The food aboard was creative and pleasing to taste. The cooking staff and the servers were always ready to make your dinner special. The cruise director kept the spirt alive making every day grand. The islands were beautiful but my favorite was Belize. I saw temples that had been constructed along time ago that had held the test of time. The wild life was vast , Monkies swinging from the tree tops , a real adventure. Good job Carnival looking forward to setting sail again. Read Less

I have cruised with Carnival over 100 days. I live close to 2 cruise ports and take advantage of the same day drive to the port. I picked this cruise because it was 8 days and went to Key West. I had not been there in 6 years. This was also my first trip to Half Moon Cay. Embarkation was very smooth and we walked on the ship immediately after going through security. We had lunch at the Anchor BBQ and it was very good. Overall we had a good cruise. There were some negatives. Our cabin was on the Riveria Deck in bow. The room was in good shape and the A/C worked very well. We heard some complaints by other passengers that their A/C did not work and rooms were warm. Our room steward did a great job. We had late dining in the aft dining room. Late dining is not my cup tea. Eating at 8:30 to 9:00 is too late. This not the ships fault. We booked late and that is all that was available. The wait staff did a great job. However, the menu is becoming boring. The menu has had very few changes over the years. I do not enjoy the shows in the theater. I did enjoy the family friendly comedy shows. The musicians were a mixed bag. The brass section was good and some of the solo artist were good. Carnival is a lower end cruise experience. Carnival is not a luxury cruise ship and it is not a gourmet food experience. People will over indulge and you will hear more foul language than you may want to hear. We also had someone throw up in the main pool on the last sea day and it had to be drained and refilled. Also the hairy chest contest is not for children. It can be over risque when the participants have over indulged. On debarkation, 5 NO policemen and a police dog escorted someone off the ship in handcuffs. Overall, we enjoyed the cruise and you can find plenty of places on the ship to get away from the crazies. Read Less

We chose this particular cruise because of the date and itinerary. First cruise for me and fourth for my wife. Problems with Carnival's transportation from the airport but great accommodation at embarkation! First impression: The Glory is a GORGEOUS SHIP! We had a fabulous balcony stateroom with excellent service. Food was fabulous at the main dining room (Platinum) and plenty of options for lunch every day. No excuse not to be happy with SOMETHING that was there! Lots of beautiful desserts and fruit too! We loved the couple that was assigned to sit with us every night in the dining room. 98% of our fellow cruisers were so much fun and wanted to be friendly and enjoy. The wait staff was superb and talented! We loved Adam (our main dining waiter) and the rest of the staff. Food quality and presentation was mostly superb. The buffets were of lesser quality but wide variety that can easily satisfy your appetite. We loved their lemonade!! There is so much to do on the ship. Now that I reflect back on the cruise, we could have spent the entire time on the ship and explore all the activities rather than go onshore and do excursions. We were going to get off the ship and do the tourist thing and support the local economies! We are disappointed that we never went down the tubes or went in any of the pools. We really liked how the Glory had a separate "Adults Only" section that we enjoyed to lay on the loungers and enjoy the beautiful views. Actually, the few children we saw on board were well behaved and a credit to their families. Quite a few infants and toddlers that were so cute. I personally did not like how the ship pushes alcohol especially in the form of shots during dinner times. They do not tell you it is an additional expense (I should know that by now) but you do get to keep the souvenir shot glass for $10. We had a fabulous excursion in Roatan Honduras! We did the snorkeling/beach excursion which included the skyrides - highly recommended! Not much to see as far as snorkeling but the water was gorgeous and staff friendly. We had a poor excursion in Belize. We bought the snorkeling excursion which required a long tender boat ride to the coral reefs. To our dismay, we already had a large group from the Glory and we picked up even more people from another ship! All in a boat too small for choppy water but I also understand it had to be small enough to let us get off and on from the excursion. Just way too many people on the excursion as a couple of people kept on running into me as I was snorkeling. Those people in back of the large group did not get the benefit on the one guide's statements. So we had about 20 minutes of actual snorkeling over the beautiful coral reefs with gorgeous fish and other sea life. Then we were brought back on the boat to the cove (island) for a break. Come to find out that was it and I was mad as I thought we got ripped off with such a short snorkeling experience! I wanted to go out by myself but I knew it was pretty far out from the island. It was windy but I still thought we should have had at least two passes through the coral and cut back on the number of people for one group. The de-embarkation was confusing as we had an excursion to the Everglades. Very long walk through customs and to the excursion which was very interesting and enjoyable. Read Less

My wife and I took this 7 night Caribbean cruise in February / 2019. Our boarding process was very fast compared to other cruises The ship has several attractions and places to have fun: table tennis, two water slides, swimming pools, plenty of deck chairs to sunbathe on the decks. The theater was never crowded at nightly shows. In two of the 7 nights, there was no show, but only entertainment by the Cruise Director, including situations in my view embarrassing, exposing the intimate life of couples. I'd rather have shows in place of these competitions. In the first morning I decided to order hot milk, but it was so hard to get it that the other days I gave up. Two employees serving on the deck 9 buffet told me they had no hot milk at all. Another employee who was collecting dishes told me that I could ask to warm up in the coffe shop. Then I went back to one of those who had denied the existence of hot milk and he took my cup with cold milk and brought hot and sparkling. Poor training and customer service In relation to food, in general it is varied and of great quality. The problem is the opening hours of the buffet for lunch (Deck 9). Each day it has a different time, if you are not aware of the brochure delivered in the cabin, you may miss the main meal. This also occurs during the stops, where you end up coming back later. After 2:30 pm depending on the day you only find pizza, sandwiches or cheeseburger to eat until dinner time (in my case it was 8:15 pm). They could leave at least some healthy and light food choices in this period, such as fruits and cookies. On other ships the buffet does not close all day, only decreasing the amount of food offerings. Information on stops, activities and excursions could be much better. I went to the excursion office to ask for hints and the attendant simply gave me a huge book, with hundreds of options for me to turn around, showing no interest in helping us choose. I did all the rides on my own, which was a lot cheaper than hiring in the ship. In regards to maps and information on the places the note is ZERO. They distribute a small map of each port, just to advertise for jewelry stores, without informing NOTHING about the place. An example: on Roatan Island, Honduras they distributed this useless map. At the end of the afternoon, almost at the time of our return we discovered that next to the port there is an excellent beach (Mahogany Beach), with all infrastructure (chairs, restaurants, shades) totally free. None of this was informed in the ship, so you have to pay the expensive excursions to go to other beaches. The constant warnings by the ship's sound system by the cruise director are very annoying and are often early in the morning, disrupting anyone who wants to sleep. Although it is a cruise leaving Miami, visiting Spanish-speaking countries, everything is in English, notices, leaflets etc. They could make versions of the most important instructions at least in other languages (as Disney parks do) TV works fine. Two channel with new movies, two for kids, one with CBSN and one with old B movies (this last always with a delay between image and sound). Read Less

This was our second Carnival Cruise. We have sailed on most lines but primarily Celebrity and Princess. We did a back to back sailing on the next February 16th Journeys cruise. I chose Carnival because of the ports of call on this cruise and the Journeys cruise. Quickest, easliest embarkation I have had in 30 plus crusies Main dining room food was good. Variety, good choices, great breakfasts overall I cannot complain about the Main Dining room food, The Lido buffet for breakfast, not many choices, and the same food every day. Lunch at the buffet was better, more daily changes and the highlight were the desserts for lunch the best I have ever seen but the Mexican, burgers, deli and Barbecue do help ad to the variety. Cabin, balcony, was fine. Enough storage. Only service the room 1 time a day unless you request 2 times. Once a day was fine for us. The ship takes getting use to finding you was around. You cannot get there from here, especially on deck 3 and 4. Seems to be enough deck space though not always around the pool. The pools are small. Not happy at all about photography stations. I counted 10 stations on deck 5 and another 4 on deck 3,deck 5 is the main thorofare, taking up chairs and space where we could sit before and after dinner. I guess we know where the profit is. That is why I rated Public Rooms as poor, they aren't public when they are taken up by Carnival selling something. Entertainment was good. Read Less

My wife and i are platinum Carnival cruisers and this time had 4 family members along, including our 2 year old grandson. He was a bit overwhelmed by all the sites and sounds, but had a great time. The crew gave him special attention throughout the ship and always stopped to talk to him. The overall cruise was very good and there were some positive changes that are easily noticed. The crew seemed even more friendly than past cruises and were constantly asking if things were good. At one point my son, had an issue with noise outside his cabin from workers doing maintenance. He commented to staff that he just got his son down for a nap and they moved the workers temporarily. We've never seen that before. In addition, the big shows are back. For the last few years, shows were more cabaret-like with minimal cast and very little live music. Frankly, they were boring and we mostly avoided them or left early. This cruise had 3 great shows, with singers, dancers, and a large latin-style band. The Cruise director (Cookie) was fun and really took the time to talk with guests. Since we were traveling with others, we took advantage of the Carnival Hub app for the first time. If you have never used this app before, give it a try. It is a fantastic way to keep in touch with each other, make plans for the day, book excursions, and keep track of expenses. The biggest negative for us was that our grandson has allergies and required a special diet. We were assured pre-cruise, that this would be no problem. We understand cooking for a 2 year old can be difficult, especially one with allergies, however each night it was a challenge to get items meeting his needs. The wait staff was great and tried very hard to work with the chef, but choices were limited. Over the years, we have always tried to rate the entire cruise and not just the 1 or 2 things that don't go quite right. We definitely see Carnival making some changes. Some are obvious cost savers, but overall they seem to be getting back to the guest first strategy that has always worked in the past. I would continue to recommend Carnival and we are looking forward to our next cruise. Read Less

Found most staff courteous and hard working. Our balcony room was great, stewards kept it very clean and we never had to ask for anything additional. We got the social wifi, it was ok but didnt function as well as we had hoped. Cookie was the CD and he was amazing, I would go on any ship he was on. He made up for the fee negatives we experienced. I would probably not book the Glory again if another ship could meet our needs. Just didnt leave with the normal sense of satisfaction as we have on other ships. Read Less

Our cruise was a romantic getaway for 2 40-something first time cruisers. PROs: The selection of ports (Grand Cayman/Roatan/Belize City/Cozumel), all the food options on the Glory, dive-in movies, omelette station, elegant dinner menu, functionality of the stateroom CONs: One of our ports was cancelled, ambiguity of excursion tickets, breakfast options besides the omelette station SHIP: I didn't see the rust others have written about, I thought the outside areas were fine. The interior of the ship looks like it was decorated in the 80's instead of 20 years ago. Just go in knowing the decor is not your primary reason for booking. ENTERTAINMENT: The sea was so choppy that the Motown show was just an hour of the singers sitting in chairs singing medleys. I would hope that it's much better with the dancing. But based off the rock show and another show we caught... the dancing didn't add much. I'd give them one star. We were happier watching movies on the Lido deck. The comedians were pretty good. Better get there early, the place gets packed for the late shows. I enjoy piano bars, so I made it there twice. I wouldn't recommend the singer we had, but he said it was his last cruise with Carnival so hopefully they bring on someone much better. We only attended the finale of the lip sync battle because we met one of the contestants during the week. We were pleasantly surprised, it was actually the best show we caught all week. The Cruise Director and fun squad get involved and it is very entertaining. The hairy chest contest was hilarious, but I don't recommend bringing kids to it. FOOD: Great selection of specialty venues, and most of them were free. I just wish those were open more often. The breakfast buffet is not good. We ended up with omelettes almost every day, which takes a bit longer standing in line. The desserts, even at the buffet, were delicious. We only ate in the main dining room twice. The food at the first elegant dinner was decent, but the second elegant dinner was one of my top 10 meals ever. IMPORTANT TO KNOW: We booked 2 excursions through Carnival - one in Grand Cayman and one in Belize. We weren't able to visit Grand Cayman due to the weather. You have to take a smaller boat called a tender to get on the island. The sea was too rough to throw a plank between the 2 boats, so we had another "fun day at sea" instead of what I was looking forward to most, swimming with stingrays. When they announced the news, the staff was not surprised. Someone asked how often this happens, and a staffer said 50%. I'm not sure if that's overall, or 50% of the time the water is choppy. But be warned if you plan on a Grand Cayman port - you might not get to see it. Thankfully Carnival automatically refunded our excursion fares. There is no communication on your Carnival excursions other than tickets delivered to your room the day prior. Out Belize excursion tickets read "Departs from: 7:45 am" and also "Depart time: 8:30 am". In my mind, we have to be at the location stated on board between 7:45-8:30 AM. We checked in to the meeting location before 8:30 AM and showed them our tickets. They advised us to have a seat until we're called. After we were called we waited on the steps for debarking about a half hour before our tender arrived. When we arrived in Belize City, we were told that we missed our tour! Cruise vets, please keep in mind we were first time cruisers. You need to go by the earliest time on your tickets. By the time they could find someone to help us, the other major tours were gone as well. So we went 0 for 2 on our Carnival-booked excursions. At least they credited us for this missed excursion as well, and we made the most out of the day with shopping and bars. The drinks are about $12 after gratuity and some occasional additional tips, so consider that when deciding on the drink package. We didn't get the package, but came within about $20 of it, so it actually is priced about right. Get the package if you're committed to drinking every day. Overall we were very happy with the experience despite some setbacks. I look forward to cruising again, possibly with Carnival. Read Less

Dining was always on par, quick friendly service, all dining request were accomodated. Entertainment was a new group of performers that "WOW'ED" all of there shows. Those were the Pros; Cons; The ship's photographers were aggressive in getting photo's at every opportunity they see you. AVOID THE EFFY JEWELRY STORE! It is truly buyer beware at this place. I found a nice ring only later to find it was nothing more than costume jewelry grade piece at fine jewelry prices. Don't be dubbed as I was. Duty Free Store; If any of your have learn to price shop, then it should be obivous that there prices (even with rebates) are above the prices at your local CVS, Rite-Aid, etc. For the most part, the cruise forfilling there hospitalitly was Very Good to Excellent. A Western Caribbean cruise out of Miami which left Miami on its coldest day in 5 years - it should have been an indicator. We started with two days of cold, rainy and windy weather but that didn't stop us being entertained and having fun. We were unable to make our scheduled stop at Grand Cayman as it was unsafe for the tenders to take us to port - this was disappointing as we were really looking forward to visiting Hell. Unfortunately for Carnival, 20 sun loungers were lost over the edge of the ship. Once we'd passed through our bad weather things improved. Our stops at Roatan, Belize and Cozumel were lovely and the weather was gorgeous. It was certainly a cruise for Carnival to grab back some of our winnings - the coldest craps table on record must have been the award that week. Still, between Maria, Sushi, Ignatius, Brian and Simon and casino supervisor Errol, our dealers still provided great entertainment and service. I'll certainly be looking to re-run at least part of this itinerary so that I can go to Hell - and back again! Read Less

The Glory is a great ship! She's a perfect size and rides the water smoothly. Embarkation was quick as was disembarkation. Expect some elevator delays during embarkation/debarkation day as the crew use them for luggage simultaneously. We opted for the Everglades/FLL airport excursion and it worked out well for return to the airport. Dining was a bit of a problem this time, therefore, we will opt for anytime dining next cruise. Sometimes it is nice to mix up your table mates! Food was generally good. Buffet has a difficult time keeping selections hot. Burrito bowl at Blue Iguana is great, as is a burger from Guy's! This particular group of performers for the live shows were very good! The best I've seen/heard in the past 4 years..good job! Comedians were great, as usual. Must say that Mahogany Bay was a delightful port. The beach is lovely and proximity to shopping & restaurants is a plus. All in all, we would cruise on the Glory again! Read Less

From our Stateroom Steward Youok to our Guest Services Associate Mohamed Ali Mahrsi, our wish was their command. After breakfast, we started the day on Deck 9 with our favorite Mixologist Vasily who always crafted us a fine morning brunch beverage. We totaled 37 in our Family Group which you'd think would be hard to simultaneously seat. The Hostesses that we had Maja, Kelia, Bernadett, and Jin always git the job done. Our room steward and the entertainment crew really made the cruise a great experience. I have been on the Glory three times as well as pretty much every other Carnival ship class from the Fantasy to the Horizon. Yes the brand new ships are beautiful and super clean but for me my cruise is really based on the entire experience. I found the food to be on par with most of my other Carnival cruises - good, not outstanding but as I expected. Embarkation was too easy! We arrived just before 11 and Platinums were already boarding. We walked directly on to the ship and to our cabin. Cabin and balcony clean and similar to all the others I have had. AC worked fine although I heard others complain too cold and too hot in cabins and other spaces. Although 25 people signed up for our Cruise Critic Meet and Greet only 7 showed up which was really unfortunate as Carnival/CC had a nice spread of snacks and beverages for us. The cruise director and entertainment director came by and spent the entire time with us answering all of our random cruise life questions. That was a nice touch. Platinum benefits - I heard comments across the board - I never received the strawberries but I did have all the other benefits. The gift was a blanket so save room in your suitcase! One of my friends I traveled with never got any Platinum perks including the invite to the VIP party. The ports were awesome on this cruise, Half Moon Cay, San Juan, St. Thomas and Amber Cove. Although not a huge fan of the Dominican we did Outbacks Adventure and loved it! It was a great way to experience the island from visiting a local home, school and private beach. Overall we really had a nice time. Read Less

Was pleasantly surprised with the amount of activities to do on board .. Ship was very clean ,Hotels should be as clean . Food was great I liked that there was a variety of food to choose from. The chef and his team did an amazing job. Really enjoyed the activities in the lobby . trivia games seemed to be enjoyed by all . Liked that they played movies on the Lido deck ,only thing I would suggest for that is maybe more recent movies . Liked the adult only deck . we had somewhere to go if we chose . Hot tubs could have been warmer . that is just my personal preference..as with anything else in life cruising is a choice .i believe you choose to have a good time .Or you set on the side lines Read Less

WHY THIS CRUISE: We chose this ship/cruise primarily for the varied itinerary and number of stops in interesting places. My husband and I (in our 60's) had visited all the ports; my daughter and son-in-law had the fun of some new ports on this trip. OUR TRIP TO MIAMI: We drove down from North Carolina on Friday and stayed in the Sleep Inn, Airport. We've been there before and the hotel offers a sweet deal if you are driving-- they participate in the "park and cruise" program where you can leave the car there for the duration of the cruise. The rooms are older, but clean and it's a nice facility with a good breakfast bar. They don't offer free shuttle to the cruise port, but contract with a third-party who charges a reasonable $10, driving straight to the port. On the morning we left for the cruise, someone came back from a cruise to find her car had been broken into, but our car was safe and sound when we returned (I did put everything in the trunk -- GPS, travel clothes, etc., to get anything of interest out of sight). EMBARKATION: We opted for Faster to the Fun, but were disappointed that our cabins were not ready when we boarded the ship (at our 11:30am appointment). I have looked back on the website which continues to mention that Faster to the Fun includes this feature, so I'm a little puzzled about why it wasn't honored this time. We roll our luggage on, so we had to keep it in tow for a couple of hours. ::shrug:: not the end of the world, but just a little surprised. Embarkation itself was quick and uneventful. We did get priority embarkation and it was a breeze. OUR CABIN: We had upgraded from an inside cabin at the front of the ship to a mid-ship balcony cabin, thanks to a special offer. Our cabin was 6375 (on the "Upper Deck," deck 6). It never occurred to me that things happening BELOW the cabin would affect the noise level, but as this cabin was directly over the little stage outside the casino oon the promenade deck (deck 5), we "enjoyed" music until the wee hours every night, whether we wanted to or not. Again, I'm a pretty easy grader and after a couple of nights, I was able to mostly disregard it, but that might be a deal-breaker for someone very sensitive to extra noise. The cabin itself was lovely, kept in tip-top shape by our room steward, Komang. THE SHIP: the ship is looking a little shopworn, although staff keep it very clean. I noticed some peeling varnish, chipped bar in the bathroom, and other small signs of age. To me, this just added a little character. I noticed that it's due for a refurb next year and I'll be interested to see what happens there. DINING: We enjoyed breakfast at the buffet and at the sit-down restaurant along with one of the two brunches offered. I felt the food was entirely acceptable, always tasty, served in a reasonable portion-size. Last year, I complained about the so-so desserts offered. This year, Carnival offered absolutely scrumptious cakes, individually served. That was a welcome improvement. I'm still yearning for more of that carrot cake! We ate dinner in the main dining room where Rodah, Ida and CrisJay were excellent and attentive servers. The food in the dining room was lovely, always served in an appetizing way and well-seasoned. I was surprised to get an extra lobster on that special night! Whoa! Unexpected, but very welcome! CHEF'S TABLE: We participated in the Chef's Table -- first time for my daughter and son-in-law -- and it was delicious and beautiful. We especially enjoyed Chiang from Singapore, who gave a clear and most interesting explanation of the exotic foods presented. She also answered questions with honesty, grace, and humor. Whatever Carnival is paying this young woman needs to be increased because she is a fantastic ambassador for Carnival. ENTERTAINMENT: We enjoyed the "welcome aboard" show in the Amber Palace, but did not make another show. We didn't go to comedy shows or participate in the on-deck events. When we have a balcony room, we tend to spend a lot of time out there. Because of the room acoustics, we did hear all of the bands in the Casino location. There was a horn ensemble that was especially good and a latin band that was terrific. A fellow playing steel drum was amazing. Others were not as skilled, but not completely awful. My cruise expectations for music are pretty low -- something pleasant in the background, or possibly to dance to is about all I'm looking for. PORTS: • Grand Turk -- we planned no excursion this time, just shopped in the cruise port and enjoyed the pool at Margaritaville (where we also enjoyed touching base back home with some free internet access). • San Juan, PR -- we walked to one of the forts and got in FREE thanks to my national senior pass which I actually remembered to bring. We were in PR late, but we came back fairly early and just enjoyed the ship. • St. Thomas, VI -- this was a great day! We booked a wonderful cultural walk and food tour and it did not disappoint. Gerard, the guide, was wry and well-spoken and took us to some amazing spots for some great local and traditional food. • Amber Cove, DR -- a beautiful day made our time by the pool very enjoyable. We also shopped port stores, but had no excursion planned here. There are several places offering free internet and an earthcache if you enjoy geocaching. CRUISING DUCKS: I have only recently learned about the cute game of hiding little rubber ducks for children (and others) to find while cruising. I brought a few to hide and posted the photos on FB along with a hint -- they were all found and it added a little something extra to the trip this year. I hope that Carnival will continue to permit this bit of innocent fun. CARNIVAL HUB: This app has made great strides since I used it last year (or maybe I just learned to use it better). I never opened the highlighters I brought to make note of special events because you can do that on the Hub app. You can also check your account balance, chat with friends on the ship (for an extra $5 for the whole cruise), see what's on the menu, etc. INTERNET: I usually just pay for a day or two of internet while on a sea day so that I can check in back home. This time, I opted for the less expensive "social plan" and found it entirely adequate. I couldn't check email, but could chat via Messenger, which was useful and fun. SPA "PAMPER PARTY" -- I attended one of these on a sea day. I expected some hard-selling, but actually found it to be entertaining. I was astonished to find a medical doctor on board who provides more advanced procedures like botox and the like. I was not tempted, but very intrigued by the concept. Using a coupon from the Pamper Party, I enjoyed a 75 minute massage which was relaxing and skillfully done. Read Less

I thought the cruise was amazing! I’ll agree Carnival could improve the buffet. Dining room was great, Guys burgers are amazing. The staff work there tails off and keep a smile on their faces and always willing to go the extra mile. Our wait staff was amazing Walter was fantastic! The cruise director is fun and keeps the party going day and night! The ports were so fun! I believe you make your own fun and do the things you enjoy and if you stick to that your trip will be amazing too. The ship is immaculate, there constantly cleaning. My only complaint would be the deli where the sandwiches are superb, the problem is the line is long and never movers by no fault of the poor guy behind the counter since there’s only one guy back there you need 3 - 4 people working back there. Also maybe keep the deli, Guys and the barbecue place open longer. But for the most part.we were 9 people on the cruise and we all had an amazing time!!!! We can’t wait to cruise Carnival again! We enjoyed the Glory. Crew members were very friendly & helpful. This is a "Conquest" class ship, which means you are unable to go from forward to aft on a few of the decks, which is a bit confusing & inconvenient. Food service & quality were excellent. Entertainment was a bit sparse. I was disappointed that CCL has decided to charge $ for cranberry juice at breakfast, also disappointed that CCL no longer had a future cruise agent on board. We are Platinum guests, which means we should have gotten 3 bags of laundry each on a 7 day, done for free. But no laundry bags were in our cabin & when I requested bags, I only received one, having to ask for the 2nd one. I was never offered anymore, this was a bit disappointing. Perhaps part of CCL's cutbacks. We had rain for 2 out of our 4 ports, a bit disappointing, but of course not the fault of CCL This was a premier cruise, so the casino was always packed. Machines were generous on the 1st couple of days, very tight the last couple of days. Casino was even open on a couple of port days, which was surprising to me. Read Less

We wanted a relatively affordable cruise with a Caribbean itinerary to places we have not visited before. Carnival Glory delivered! For experienced Carnival travelers, you know what to expect: a medium sized ship (3000 passengers), jam packed activities, staff who will pamper you, the usual cruise fare to eat. The Glory is an older ship and, like many older ships, needs some refurbishments, but it was clean and familiar. Crew and staff goes out of its way to please you (shout out to Rolando in the Platinum Dining Room and his staff and Yuli and his assistant as our room steward). Food was okay - loved the Ports of Call menus at dinner. Deli and pizza are pretty good but service was slow, even at off peak times. Did not like the Old Fashioned Barbecue fare or desserts offered other than at dinner. Stage shows were entertaining; the comedians were so-so; Jorge was the best of the lot. Shopping is not a big deal on the ship compared to other cruise lines. Our balcony cabin (8336 mid ship) was spacious and comfy enough for 2 - had a mini fridge which was a pleasant surprise as not all Carnival ships include one. Some upholstery is looking its age but we were satisfied. Have not been to Caymans, Belize or Roatan before, so this cruise filled one of our goals. Pools are crowded and you have to contend with chair hogs although the Serenity Decks were surprisingly open and available, compared to other Carnival cruises. Room service was on time 4/5 days we ordered it in the morning. (the only time it was late was when we ordered it for 730-800am window,) We did not like the smoke belching from the Casino onto Deck 5 or elevators. Despite complaints, Carnival will not do anything about it. All in all, a lovely trip that we would like to do again. We booked our own excursions indepedent of the ship. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO SHIP TIME AND LOCAL PORT TIME. This was very frustrating for us.and other cruisers, especially when cell phones did not register time changes properly. getting on and off the ship was a snap. Watch out for passengers disembarking before their assigned timeas this caused a bit of delay in Miami Read Less

Been on the Glory previously. It's an older ship, but still a favorite of ours. EMBARKATION: Don't understand why VIP members are boarded only 2 minutes before general boarding begins. Not much of a perk , if you have to greet a mob on embarkation. CABIN: Balcony cabin on port side. Nice view of ports and the ocean. DINING: Lido generally good, don't expect 5 stars, let's call it APPLEBEE's PLUS. Still pretty good on lido, although the selections get fewer and fewer with each cruise. We really enjoyed the SEAFOOD SHACK, make sure you check it out...costs a few $$ but quality was good. GUYS BURGERS...always packed, and best burger around. TACO/BURRITO place also good, but crowded. PIZZA: always a favorite, not that crowded but good pizza. The DELI was really good, and had daily special sandwiches....pretty good crowd here..but worth the line. NOTE: Always annoyed at cruisers who INSIST on eating their way through the Lido Buffet line....seriously, can't you wait to sit down?.....eating food with fingers while moving through the grazing line is not only unsanitary but bad mannered. DO NOT take food with fingers off the serving trays....Saw one person take a roll, inspect it, then placed back in the tray....Oh my. DINING ROOM: Whew...where to start....Generally good. Not sure why I have to look at a cruiser in T shirt on Formal Night...Carnival seems to allow anyone in with any attire? Read Less

My biggest disappointment was that the entire casino area (located in a main walk-through floor) allowed for smoking. As an asthmatic this was very upsetting and problematic for me. Several of the photography back drops were located in that area, and I had to walk through there to go my assigned dinner location. There was no way to avoid it. I also was not a fan of the assigned seating for dinner. It just felt antiquated and stiff. I was anticipating more late night food options, too, but there was only pizza. The sandwich shop should have been open late too - that would have been great. In the buffet area there's an upper level that I discovered on the last day had a bbq food station. I was pretty irked that I missed that for the majority of the cruise. The Guy Fieri Burger station is SO GOOD! That and the sandwich station were my go-to places for food. I enjoyed the outdoor movie theater on the deck. What an experience to watch a movie under the stars and in a jacuzzi! Also the entertainment was exceptional - and was free! Gym was well stocked and had a lovely view of the ocean (many windows). Read Less

While I can venture to say that I have been on better ships, it doesn't mean that this ship didn't serve the purpose of what was needed! First and foremost, I prefer a Guys Burger Joint Burger over a regular Lido deck burger! This is included in your price which is great. Additionally, the Blue Iguana bar that serves "Chipotle Style" taco bowels and burritos are great! The Captain's Suite needs it's own review, which I will give, but for the most part I am happy with the investment we made to treat ourselves with this suite for our milestone. We are Gold members, but received a lot of Diamond and Platinum benefits as a result of the Port Side suite we stayed in! The islands were wonderful! The time of year we went and the porting times made the weather perfection to walk around and tour! I have been to San Juan, Puerto Rico a few times and really didn't think I'd appreciate any more the island had to offer and was surprised that I bypassed a BOATLOAD of fun with Senor Frogs! The ONLY thing I will say is I thought the Cruise Director wasn't as visible and a bit dry for my taste, however that is a totally subjective remark! Different Strokes for Different Folks and according to DISC Assessment, I'm an "I" personality, so Dustin needed a few more gestures, exclamation points, and overall extraness to win my affection! I didn't mind those things too much because of the nature of our trip and our desire to take in our Captain's Suite as much as possible! I didn't love the pastries or cookies, they are always seriously dry, but the other foods on the Lido and in the restaurants were amazing! Read Less

this ship was great oval.Very big from the last one i did 5 years ago i can't even remember the name.Cabin was bigger and better i've to admit(interier). We never got the dinning we requested but the open time 630-930 daily option worked great with our schedule. Please have some money coz most of the free meals that comes with your cruise sucks butt. They have plenty to do from step on...to step off. Service around the ship and anything that you might need is fast considering it's so many people on board. port service to board is around 45 minutes wait. i even don't know why they give you the option on the slot time they want you to come. no one checks that time and there is only one line for everyone and on side VIP for faster checking if you've the suits and up on the cruise.Kids friendly ship. My 8 yr old would have had a blast. he's got to come next time.Coming back, yes that's a given.getting on was okey coz everyone wanted to get on. now lets get back to prices..you'll need an extra 400-800 to spend while on cruise. just like the airlines..you pay cheaper for bags if you pay online way before getting to the airport. when you get to the cruise and find out the internet sucks, too slow, very expensive and everything is cut off completely so that you spend money. trust me. get one drink package..because that lemonade they have is the nastiest i've drunk ever in my life. $ 3.45 for 1.5 L of water bottles.how many will you need for 5-7 days depending on the length of your cruise. anything...i mean anything that you'll buy on board is added a 15% gratuity. so them small amounts add up so quick you'll be surprised. the workers work around the clock to make sure your stay is great. But what i found out there monthly salary.. i saddened me so much. 2800 people, each paying $90 for gratuity and not even half of that goes to those hard working people. while walking around the ship.look around and see how many americans work here? it's less than 5 in the whole ship. that says a lot. we spent almost 400 on food and onboard wifi. so make sure you save up on those hidden fees. carnival is on the business of profit in the name of FUN ON THE SHIP. i think they could make some of the paid things free coz $1500 for two people a'int cheap. hope this helps someone out there. We have decided to, as our grandchildren (we have seven of them) reach age 12, take them with us on a cruise without their parents or siblings - give them something (hopefully) that they can remember. That being said, we chose the Glory because we had not been on her before and the dates, itinerary and airfare aligned with our plans. We had a direct flight that arrived around 8 am, so we retrieved our luggage and had a little breakfast at the airport - just a sandwich from Starbucks which was okay. We grabbed a taxi and headed to the port arriving around 10 am. We waited outside for 30 minutes or so and they allowed us into the air conditioning to wait to get through security. Another 30 minutes there and they opened security and we were into the terminal. We are priority, so we sat in that area and watched the completion of debarkation of the previous cruise (more on this later). Another 45 minutes and four wedding parties later, we were on our way. We love the Conquest Class ships, we don't know why other than the layout is very comfortable for us. Our connecting Oceanview rooms were ready when we embarked so we went directly to them. These were great for our party of four, and I will book this configuration in the future . We cruise with Carnival at least three times per year, so we are rarely surprised negatively or positively on what or who we encounter. It always amazes me that crew members that have provided services to us before remember us nearly immediately. I have nothing more to say other than, the service that I am accustom to was once again provided by these great people. We have done these ports just six weeks prior, so we didn't do much. In fact, we love staying on the ship when passengers are gone as it is quiet and we have opportunity too engage the crew in longer conversations about their country, family and experiences. We did purchase the Flowrider for our daughter and granddaughter and at the conclusion of 90 minutes they were both quite tired and had huge smiles on their faces - not bad entertainment for $39 each. Dining experiences were normal for us, the menus are pretty much the same everywhere and everynight as the other cruise we have been on. Now here's why this cruise received a 4 out of 5, because of one egotistical person during debarkation. As I discussed earlier during embarkation we watched people slowly moving downstairs to customs. Some utilizing the escalator some utilizing the elevator, which is okay. But, you don't get to decide - one lady barked at people and basically determined for herself how you would get downstairs. It was ridiculous and slow - no wonder our embarkation took so long to start. Now I know they are building another terminal in Miami and hopefully that improves the process. How about getting a few less barking generals that are helpful vice disrespectful. Overall great cruise with a bad last taste! Read Less
