I have been on several cruises with carnival in the past, and was expecting the same level of quality as my previous cruises. Boy was I in for a shock. For starters the ship was overrun with kids they were in the adult only section, stealing candy from the shop on the 5th floor, and running full speed into guests. I had dinner at the steakhouse and the quality of the meat was not worth the 38 per person that I had paid. On several occasions I was charged for excursions that I did not order. Every single time listed for activities on their hub started late. The only event that started early was the bag pickup that caused several guests on my floor to be unable to have their bags picked up for the disembarkation. I ordered room service which ended up taking over an hour to receive and causing me and my wife to miss the lip sync battle. My room was extremely hot for the duration of the cruise. The internet package is so slow as to be not functional. Read Less

So my hubby and I got married a week and a half ago and decided to celebrate while on the cruise. BIG MISTAKE! This is not our first cruise so we were excited to be embarking but not prepared for the day to day disappointment. We were sad to miss the formal dining due to getting our laundry back late. We requested for it to be pressed but when we finally received it it was crumpled in a bag all wrinkled. But of course they charged us for it. When we called to ask if they could iron it they told my husband, and I quote, "iron it yourself!" Since we missed the formal dining we decided to go see what they had in the buffet and literally everything was closed except the places that charged for food. We tried not to let that encounter sour our mood so we changed in to bathing suits and went up to the serenity deck where it's 21 and older, or so we thought. There were kids running all around the deck, laying in the hammocks, sitting in the hot tubs... it was ridiculous. We asked a crew member if they could tell the kids to go downstairs and the crew member just shrugged, laughed and walked away. We asked another crew member if they could get us a waiter so we could order drinks and they told us to go get it ourselves, they were busy. I understand it being Thanksgiving holiday week and children being on the ship but this was crazy. Kids running at full speed into people with canes. You couldn't walk anywhere without a child running into you or hitting you. You couldn't be in the casino without a child running around pressing everyone's buttons on the machines while you were literally playing. It was chaotic. All the while the employees just turned away and didn't do anything. We had various charges added to our account that we had to keep a watchful eye on every day. It all added up to over $300 of excursions that were for 3 people when it was only 2 of us in our cabin room. Why do they even bother to schedule anything if they are never on time???? Ugh I lost count of how many things we had to rearrange due to their lack of keeping time. There were only a handful of employees that were actually nice to people . Jess, Coco, JJ, and Milan were the ONLY ONES that were respectful. The rest of the crew needs retraining! Read Less

This was our first cruise, and our last. It was our honeymoon and we wanted everything to be perfect, but the last day left such a sour taste in our mouths. When we disembarked we had to go through different immigration channels as my wife is American and I am British. I am going through some green-card processing at the moment and I always get selected for secondary immigration which can take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours. I was prepared for this, but not what happened to my wife. She got through immigration and left the cruise terminal building to wait outside for me. it was mid-day and very hot and humid - approx 85F. She texted me to check on progress and I was still in line. She was getting hot so she, and a few other people, moved into the shade by the terminal. A Carnival employee came over and told the group that they couldn't stay there, going as far as to say "you've had your cruise, now leave" For over an hour my wife had to sit in full sun with no access to water; when I finally got out she was in tears and clearly suffering from the heat. When I complained to Carnival their customer service rep gave a trite apology and said it wan't their policy to issue any kind of compensation in such cases. I asked for a copy of the policy and she refused. I asked for a transcript of our conversation, and she refused. I asked for a copy of my client incident notes, and she refused. When I escalated the call to a supervisor I advised him that I was recording the call. He said that it was against company policy to let clients record calls and if I didn't stop the recording he would terminate the call. I stopped recording but later learned that I was within my federal rights to record the conversation as long as I informed him. Strange that they are allowed to record calls but we aren't. When I asked him for a copy of Carnival's policy that states this, he refused. The cruise itself? Not that great. Too short a time on-shore; just enough time to have a quick look around, maybe an excursion, and then back on board. On a cruise lasting a week, subtracting time at sea and time spent in buses or taxis, I estimate we spent no more than 8 hours actually doing what we wanted to do, and 4 of those were at a beach club in Cozumel. We upgraded to the Steak House one night which was fine but not spectacular. We also did the Chef's Table which was entertaining but again the food wasn't worth the extra money. And don't get me started on $2.50 for a room service Coke even though we had bought the Cheers package! Cheers Package? Not worth it. I am a heavy drinker and never once reached the 15 drink daily limit. By the time you have queued to get on and off the ship and spent time in a port there aren't enough hours left to get value from the program, especially as we both had to pay for it (almost $900) and my wife didn't drink that much. A very expensive mistake compounded by terrible customer service; next year we will fly somewhere and enjoy the destination. Read Less

We went to get away and relax. The boarding process did not start until almost noon. We were on deck 7. You can tell the boat is not being maintained, it's rusting and dirty. The crew is lazy and they do as little as they can possibly get away with. Over all the quality of the food was the worst I've experienced on any ship. Our cabin was not cleaned while we were out and we had to ask for clean towels and bath soap. The fridge did not work and toilet was hard to flush. There was a odor in the hall outside our room that was nauseating. The ports have not fully recovered from the hurricane of 2017, only about half of the shops have reopened for business. Carnival seems to be having problems with these ships, Maybe it's time to think about retiring some of the older ships. Read Less

This was our 11th Cruise and couldn't have been more bored on a cruise. When out to Sea there was nothing to do. No daytime shows not that would have helped any because at night the shows were not good and the sound system was so bad it was like the speakers were blown. The food for the most part was average at best and most desserts during lunch had no flavor. Found a lot of staff not too friendly (mostly Bar people). Had major problem with loud children in our Hallway, as did other guest, They were banging on doors and calling the room over & over and when we all reported it the desk help seemed to not care and neither did security. first port, Grand Turk, there was nothing to do so stayed on ship. And glad that we did an excursions In Amber Cove because there was nothing there to do but the same shops that were in Grand Turk. Will NEVER do another Carnival Cruise again. Read Less

Our room toilet broke and and the toilet kept running water and took plumber 30 mins to get to the room and fix it. Cabin had toilet water on the rugs. They left it like that we called back and they show up and leave a blower in my room to dry up the rug. They also charge for wifi and you cant use it because its too slow. They charge for the waters in the rooms and charge for room service after 10pm. If you re hungry at night all you can eat is pizza. Food quality is horrible. Only thing good in ths ship is the staff who have no days off and work everyday. Read Less

sounded fun, but was crowded and a big money-grab. Buffets were always packed like a feeding trough. I left an electronic recorder behind, but realized it when I got onto shuttle and immediately filed a report (there was no way my room could have been turned over already - was off early per faster-to-fun). I knew exactly where it was left, etc, yet they were unable to find it and closed the case yesterday. There’s no way to talk to a live person either. Overall, it felt like an overpriced amusement park for adults where the ‘amusements’ were booze, photo shoots, tacky jewelry, and long lines. Even had a lip-syncing contest, which somewhat summarizes the whole experience of manufactured, plastic ‘fun’. The only good thing was the overworked service staff, who nonetheless managed to be helpful and pleasant. I will definitely never cruise Carnival again. Waste of money, to be sure. Read Less

Worst cruise ever, If it were not for Guy's Burger Joint and the BBQ place we could have possibly starved to death. Oh and the soft serve ice cream machine. Went to the dining room on dress up night and was the only person there with a tie on. Waited 45 minutes for the lobster and couldn't eat it. Tasted like it was under cooked. Unless you a big breakfast eater stay away from the buffet. Can't figure out the dessert options. Most had no taste at all. As far as the alcohol goes they must thing its gold. Glass of wine and vodka on the rocks was around $18 with tip. We had a balcony room that was nice but the glass around the balcony was so dirty we had to stand up to see the water. Getting off the ship was a nightmare. They had two youngsters coordinating it and it seemed they had no idea what they were doing. So I don't know about the rest of the Carnival ships but for $1350 a person for 7 nights this is my last cruise with them. Read Less

Overall, I would NOT recommend Carnival Cruise Lines. The entertainment was less than average. The level of entertainment should be very high. This entertainment was cheesy. It was a lower level, like a dance recital level. We had a balcony state room near the spa. The room itself was small, and the bathroom was very small. The toilet smelled like urine. I asked for room service to clean the bathroom but the urine smell persisted. The baggage transfers were very inefficient. We waited for a very long time to get our bags after we boarded. I would recommend walking your own bags on board to avoid the wait. The customer service at Miami corporate is poor. We had an issue with an excursion being not as described - a one hour helicopter ride over the rain forest in San Juan is ACTUALLY a 9 minute ride over the city. Carnival would not refund us the $520 we paid even after they verified we were telling the truth. I would never go on another Carnival trip again. Instead, I would recommend MSC ships. They have Vegas level entertainment, the state rooms are much nicer, baggage transfers and excursions went off without any issues and great customer service. Read Less

Embankment: Quick and easy. we did not have FTTF. We had a 12:30 check in time. We were on the ship and in our room by 01:15pm Review: My Wife and I have been on 8 cruises and we did the glory about 8yrs ago. First time back on Carnival We choose this cruise simply for the ports and timing. We’ve heard all the rumors and stories about Carnival and we hoped that it was just a few disgruntled people. Sadly, all the stories are true. On this cruise, we had a lot of issue. The Main issue we had was the AC unit was out in our room. We had to go back and forth with guest services for 3 days before it was fixed. Then they gave us a pathetic apology. The MDA was ok, nothing outstanding. Don’t bother with the dress code. You will see people in tank tops and flip flops. Jeans and T-shirts on the captain’s dinner. Food was very bland and not warm. Entertainment was ok. The buffet always had a line. No matter what time of day it was. Guys burgers and the deli were good. The internet is a total waste of money. We got it one day and it NEVER worked. The Glory shouldn't have offered it at all. Cam, the member of the fun squad was OUTSTANDING. That guy was great at everything he did. Our Room Steward was very good and seemed like he cared about our concerns. The ports and excursions were great. We were sad when the excursions ended simply because we had to go back on the ship and deal with another issue. I can go on and on about this cruise, but I’ll save the time. First time cruises will probably enjoy this kind of cruise. For us, we will not cruise with Carnival again. Disembarking: It was a MESS. Tons of people walking around looking lost and confused. The staff had no answers and appeared lost as well. It took us about an hour to get off the ship Read Less

Wanted to go crusing again after 15 yrs.If this is the way Carnival offers a 7night vacation I'm out.I do have to say first of all,the 4 islands we visited made the difference for our vacation, and Carnivals private Island was a good start, but the overall Ship experience was not what we expected at all.To start the staff for the most part are over worked across the board, entertainment especially on ship days on the Lido deck was skimpy, The food was so-so,the main dining room, I meals but wow things have changed. Now one last but important thing for our group,if your having any cocktails be forwarned we would have faired better being robed by the James Gang.Oh ya because Carnival don't seem to take financial care of there workers at least it seamed to me, in the middle of the next to last night they took $90 per person out of my sign and sail account, for workers grutiaty, yes they did$180. Everyone has a different experience, but this is your hard earned money and we expected an overall great cruse vacation, for us it fell short on the carnival Glory.I hope your trip is better,Happy Crusin. I saved for over 5 years to take my boyfriend on a cruise, I had been on 2 previously and loved them! However, I have never in my life been so disappointed in a vacation. The food was mediocre at best! There was no midnight buffet with ice sculpture or chocolate fountains, as there were before. The options for dinner were bland and did not change very often. the waiter even told us every night that most of the items on the menu were horrible. the breakfast buffet had the same options every morning with the exception of the type of sausage changing. The fruit was exactly the same everyday- apples, bananas, pears, grapefruit. The lunch options, again were the same everyday. We ended up eating at Guy's Burgers most of the time because the food was better. The food was bland and the dessert not good at all! The entertainment was the same every night and you couldn't get into most of it as they had lines that started an hour before. All of the movies they showed were for children. Nothing for young adults. We got the drink package and when I called room service was instructed that even though we paid $800 for drinks for the week they couldn't deliver them to the room without charging us. We went to Belize and took an excursion that was described as a beach day with jet ski's and snorkeling. This is not at all what it was! We were hounded for tips the entire time we were there, the people doing the horseback riding were on horses that looked as though they hadn't been fed in a long time, the bugs were horrible! Not to mention it was a guided jet ski "tour" for 15 minutes (maybe) and then a guided snorkel tour with no coral to look at. This was a horrible excursion! When I told Carnival about this there response was, we are sorry you had a bad experience and this never happens, we hope your next cruise is much better! I asked for my money back for the excursion and was told no. Please do not waste your hard earned money on this cruise line! They nickel and dime you every chance they get- STAY AWAY!!!!! Read Less

I gave this cruise 1 star, but only because there was no option to give ZERO stars. This is not our first cruise and not our first stay in a suite. We had a total of 39 people in our group that we gathered together for this particular cruise. That is 39 people that I personally asked to join us on the cruise. I worked on this vacation from January to June with Carnival. I linked everyone together and called several times to make sure. The first night we quickly realized there was a serious mistake. We had 2 families including someone that was with me that was sitting at tables very far away. Families were divided up and spouses and children couldn't eat together. We complained. 2 hours for dinner every night. Last ones to eat and then pushed out at the end in a hurry for the next seating. Finally the 6th night the wait staff manager came to me but it was too little too late. Dinner on day 6 was the best at 1 hour and 29 minutes only because I complained every day. We know because it became a joke to time the dinner and servers every night. Drink packages are not allowed to be used at Half Moon Cay which I felt was nickel and diming people. We rented a cabana and were given 2 cans each of pop. There was no one at the buffet to take drink orders so we would have to get our drinks from the pool bar which caused our food to get cold. There has to be a better way. The dining room staff charged me for pop when I had the bottomless bubbles. To have it removed I was made to stand in regular line for a 2.59 charge? That's ridiculous. It seemed like it was on purpose because I had expressed my concerns about the service and the seating on the first night. Faster to fun guests got on the ship before suite guests and they had the priority line? I was told to get out of the priority line and stand in the longer line with all of the other guests. That doesn’t seem fair at all. No benefits to suites on Carnival. They offer you a complimentary bag of laundry however the bag is the size of a lunch bag. It's a joke. Why offer it? People were smoking cigarettes and weed off balcony in room 7307 to the left of our room making it impossible to enjoy our balcony - no one stopped it. No one ever answered the phone when we tried to call from the suite to discuss my concerns. Mismanagement on carnival especially by the guest services manager. She was extremely dismissive and unhelpful. Acting as if we were bothering her. She rolled her eyes. She refused to assist so I asked for someone else. She refused that as well. I asked her to have some else reach out to me and that never happened. I was offered an upgrade of $742 to go from an Ocean Suite to a Grand Suite, stateroom 7315. I figured I would try it and I was so disappointed. Sea pass cards were not in the mailbox when we boarded. We had to stand in line for them. We were told that our suite may not be ready yet and we should wait until 1:30pm for access even though we were told the room would be ready immediately. We saw our room steward twice the entire cruise. That is very unusual for suite guests. Normally we see our room steward every day. All he did was make the bed, close the drapes and add towels. He barely cleaned up. Soap dispenser leaked and we had blue shampoo for days all over the bathtub. Caulk on the bathtub was disgusting. There was a severe scent of urine coming from the floor of the bathroom so I got down and took pics of the URINE caked up in the grout. It was absolutely foul. Garbage sat in our room for days without being taken out. It got so bad that I ended up putting out the dirty dish in the hallway hoping someone would take it. There was a disgusting tissue in the grate above the dressing room for days. We asked for it to be removed and found out why it was there. The grate vibrated constantly and made it impossible to sleep. The furniture in our room was falling apart. The front of the couch was falling forward and almost not attached. The chairs in our room had stuffing coming out of them. Terrible condition. Holes in the drapes. It looked like moths got a hold of them. There was a hole in the edge of the bed. I have pictures of all of it. The ship was dry docked recently. They should have done more to update it. Unfortunately they didn't really do much. The buffet assist wait staff was great!!! He was the first person to ask if we want a drink at breakfast on the last day. He cleared our plates and came back with orange juice quickly. Great customer service skills. The food was less than average. The choices were not appetizing. We were extremely disappointed with the entire cruise. It seemed like Carnival had a reduction in force and left half of their service staff go. Especially the management. There was no concern for customer service whatsoever. There were several people who had Diamond and Platinum status that had similar complaints regarding service and the condition of their staterooms. We decided as a group that we would never do Carnival again if this was the way we would be treated in the future. It's a shame that you save all year and spend so much to find out your staff could care less. Read Less

We take an annual February cruise since it is our son's winter break from school. This was our 5th carnival cruise and 8th overall. It was also our very worst cruise experience. This ship, was going into a two week dry dock after our cruise which no one was informed about. We were also not informed that the aft pool and only slide would be out of commission and be worked on while we sailed. They not only cut off a third of the lido deck from a seating standpoint they cut off a good portion of the serenity decks as well. There was hammering, sawing, drilling and all sorts of noise going on constantly. The were doing "dry dock" work throughout our cruise in all areas. After constantly complaining I received a case number and was told the HQ would deal with the issue once the cruise was over. The people working on this ship were excellent as were the four ports we visited. The boat, was old, vibrated terribly and in sore need of the dry dock. Why we were not informed prior to our cruise about these conditions is a black mark on Carnival I will not soon forget. After the conditions were publicized upon our return by a local Florida news station, Carnival decided to offer us all a 25% refund and a 50% discount on a future cruise. This was not nearly enough based on the loss of "fun" with all the construction and noise. Read Less

We stayed in Miami for a few days before boarding the ship and really enjoyed the Wynwood area. The embarkation was very smooth. However, once we boarded we saw construction crews and discovered that they were going to be working on the boat the entire week we were on it. Because of the construction, there was no water slide and the pool the slide should have fed into was not accessible. As a result of this, the Serenity Deck, which was supposed to be 18+, was a free for all. So, during our At Sea days when we were hoping to relax in peace and quiet, the Serenity Deck was full of kids. When we were getting ready for bed the first evening, I was feeling uncomfortably warm. I tried adjusting the thermostat to no avail. We then called Guest Services to complain about our warm cabin and they sent someone to investigate our claim. The staff member arrived with a handheld temperature gauge indicating that our room was 75F. This person informed us that the accepted (by whom I’m not sure) range should be between 65-71F. However Sleep.org says the ideal temperature for sleeping is 60-67F https://sleep.org/articles/temperature-for-sleep/. I asked this person why the thermostat appeared to not work and he never gave me an answer. He left our cabin insinuating that he was going to somehow adjust our cabin temperature remotely but it took several hours for the effect to be felt inside our cabin. On the second night around the same time we experienced the same problem. We once again called Guest Services and they sent another person who removed the vent cover in the ceiling and appeared to be adjusting something inside of it. Once again, it took several hours for results to be felt. The third night we AGAIN had the same problem. Only, this time when we called Guest Services no one came. After 7 miserable nights of interrupted sleep I realized that the problem seemed to occur around the same time EVERY evening we were on this ship. Our cabin was located directly below the main theater. Every night when our air conditioning ceased, it was around show time and it did not return until after the late show had finished. This leads me to believe that our air conditioning was diverted to the theater ALL seven miserable nights while we lay in bed hoping to be able to get at least one good night’s sleep. What a miserable vacation when you can't even get a good night's rest and talk about putting a damper on the "romance department", if you know what I mean!? San Juan, Puerto Rico is AMAZING! We just wandered around Old San Juan. Grand Turk is a little scary if you venture into town and there's not much in the town. Not worth the cab fare, but the areas right by the port with the pool and the beach are nice. Some people we met on the cruise did an excursion there that sounded like a lot of fun. St. Thomas is nice for beach time or shopping. Amber Cove, Dominican Republic has a nice rum distillery, chocolate factory and cigar shop. We enjoyed a nice guided tour of the city there. The comedy shows were really good and we enjoyed the Alchemy Bar. Our wait staff for dinner was amazing and our room steward was also good. If it weren't for some of the staff on the ship, this total trip would've been a wash!! Read Less

We sailed on Carnival Glory January 2017. I’ve emailed Carnival multiple times and haven’t got a response back from them. I’ll start with before even boarding Carnival Glory. A few minutes prior to boarding the ship, an employee (without saying one word) tossed a paper at us. The paper was to inform us the Bahamas was canceled. From the start we were unhappy with the news. We had knowledge of the Carnival Great Vacation Guarantee and decided if Bahamas was really canceled, we would take advantage of the opportunity. Once on board, we went down to Guest Services. We waited close to an hour to speak with someone. At 5:45pm we spoke with Takawira, who assured us the Bahamas was canceled and would not be added back to the itinerary. Takawira also informed us that Carnival knew a week in advance that Bahamas was taken out of the itinerary. At this point, we were furious, if Carnival had knowledge of this a week prior, why were we only informed 10 minutes prior to boarding? (Some people we spoke with were not even aware of this information until the next day when we never ported). We told Takawira that we would like to take advantage of the Carnival Great Vacation Guarantee. He told us the Carnival Great Vacation Guarantee only applies 24 hours prior to boarding and it does not apply to anywhere leaving from a US port. For anyone who has read the policy, they would agree this man has no clue what the policy is. After arguing with him, he got another guest service staff to speak with us. She restated what Takawira had already told us, she then promised us (multiple times) no more ports would be canceled, and she would have a manager call us to speak with us. Nobody ever called us. Now, stuck on Carnival Glory for a week, we tried to make the best of it. Then, Thursday, last second, they canceled the Grand Turk port. We felt more than lied to because Guest Service guaranteed no further ports would be canceled. Not to mention the port refunds of $18 (Bahamas) and $15 (Grand Turk) is a total slap in the face considering we paid $1,300+ per person for this cruise. Still, the issue here was that we were denied the "Carnival Great Vacation Guarantee". While we were ported in Puerto Rico we spoke with passengers from other cruise lines, they told us their cruise ships were porting in Puerto Rico an extra day because averse weather conditions in Grand Turk had caused the port to be closed for over a week. I would assume Carnival was aware of this information. When we asked about the issue, no one could give us a straight answer. Prior to the cruise I purchased strawberries to be delivered to our cabin. At the online checkout there is a variety of days and times to have the item delivered, I chose "on arrival". On arrival, they weren’t in our room. A staff member in the lobby walked by, I stopped him and explained my issue. The staff member responded with "that's not my problem" and walked away. The staff member returned about ten min later and asked my name and room number and said "It'll be there by 10pm, if not I guess come back down here tomorrow." I'm not sure why Carnival has an on arrival option if they can’t deliver the items on arrival. When the strawberries were delivered, they were small and brown. The room service was terrible, it usually took over an hour. Guest service was impossible, I would call, wait twenty min on hold and they would answer and hang up on me. On arrival, our bed sheets had a yellow stain on them, the glasses in our room were dirty like someone had used them and put them back without cleaning them. A few times we went to the bar and would never be served so we would just leave. Every night we would order the same exact wine and a couple times it was a different wine then the night before. The wifi was absolutely terrible. The pools at one point were green, full on green. There were children in the 18+ pool and no staff said anything. The serenity deck was awful. The "no saving seats" rule was never enforced so it was close to impossible to find a chair to lay on. At the casino, I was playing at the quarter machines and pulled out $15 from my sail card; I ended up being charged $20. I asked a staff member if he could fix it; he was rude and kept saying the statements don't lie and I’m wrong (20min prior they made an announcement about the ship losing satellite connection and players having problems using their sail cards). He gave me $5 back. We ported in St. Thomas and took a cab to Coki Beach. We had an excursion planned and were unsure if the excursions go off ship time or St. Thomas. I called (on roaming) the Carnival number to ask, the lady I spoke with said the excursion was St. Thomas time. We rushed back to the pier to find out it was the ship’s time, not St. Thomas. I’m not sure why Carnival refuses to honor their policies. I’ve been waiting over two weeks for a response. Carnival is a SCAM and the great vacation guarantee is an even bigger scam! I'll start by saying that I am somewhat of a seasoned cruiser, I've cruised on ships big and small and to eastern/western Caribbean as well as Bermuda. I've been on 6 Royal Caribbean cruises and this was my second Carnival cruise. Booked on the Carnival Glory for Jan.7/2017 departure, 7 nights, 4 ports including Turks and Caicos (primary reason for booking this particular cruise). Originally booked a balcony room for wife and 2 teenage daughters but 3rd daughter ended up joining us so had to change reservation to 2 inside rooms (3+2). Cabin availability was low and wanted them close together so booed cabin 1454 and 1456 on the Glory. These are deck 1 cabins at the back end of the ship. I was concerned about noise and vibration from the motors but was reassured that it wouldn't be a problem. I should have listened to my gut.. (more on this later). I never had a cruise where the boat rocked like this one, it was constant, day and night. To the point where guests were vomiting in elevators and hallways. My daughters (who were fine on other cruises) all got seasick on this one, and more than once. Carnival cancelled 2 of 4 ports of call, including Turks and Caicos, the primary reason why I booked this cruise. Yes, they did offer to give us 25% off our next Carnival "fun" cruise but we can't get back the time and money we spent on this one and frankly, we will NEVER go on another Carnival cruise. The good...In fairness, we had great service in the main dining room, Adrian and Natalia did a great job and definitely made our experience as pleasant as could be. They should be recognized. I'll also point out Shay for the Punchliner comedy club, she and her staff were great too. Iraina? for the Pixels Dream photo shoot was nothing short of fantastic. It ends there. The bad... - Carnival should permanently condemn cabin 1456 as a passenger cabin or at least have a warning to the guest that the room is subject to very loud and violent vibrations from the ship's motors - I'll bet if the captain stayed there for one night things would change! - The Glory is an old ship and it shows. The windows in the dining room and common areas were filthy, rust everywhere on the ship. Have you no pride Carnival? - Food in all areas was sub-par, meat textures were odd and lido buffet lacked variety with the same dishes day after day (only exception was Pizza Pirate where it was very tasty). - Multiple billing issues with the Carnival sail and sign method (double-charged, phantom charges, blocked charges). Spent a cumulative total of 4 hours in line and dealing with them for no good reason (high-limit credit card). - Cancelling 50% of our ports of call (2 of 4) on sunny days while claiming bad weather is a tough pill to swallow. Carnival should have done more here, found other ports or given a significant on-board credit. Interesting to see that cancelling those ports led the passengers to spend more money on Carnival (Casinos and bars)... Overall a very unpleasant experience with little sympathy from the cruise line. 5 cruisers who will never go on carnival again. And we will tell friends and they will tell friends and so on, and so on... Read Less

AWful food. AWful rooms, smelled of urine and sweat. Very very rocky ride. We missed two out of four ports of call. Very expensive and disappointing. Spend your money elsewhere. When second port was cancelled, passengers scrambled to secure their own lounge chairs from the pile on the top deck. Added activiites for our "fun day at sea, included more shopping discounts. Yippee. Not. The cruise director taunted passengers when we could plainly see Grand Turk with "see that beautiful beach, that gorgeous water and sun? Well we won't be going there today!" In his annoyingly overly chipper sing song voice. THe Platinum dining room rocked and rolled so much, we saw many people abandon their meal and never return for another night. People commented on feeling as if we were being "held hostage". Just a nightmare on the high seas. Our balcony cabin creaked and crackled all. Night. Long. I have not one positive to say about this and my family have all agreed to not ever travel with Carnival again. Read Less

Our family are avid cruisers. This cruise was the WORST we have ever been on. We will never cruise Carnival again!! The ship is old and dirty..our balcony room was filthy....broken lamps...dust and grime all over the room and bathroom. Food was inedible..in fact the whole family got sick the next day after eating the lobster and prime rib. Because of that we missed our shore excursion because we were throwing up. When I went and complained to guest services they told me I was seasick and that it was weather related. We never ate in the dining room again after that. Waiters never came around to ask if we wanted a drink...we got our own. Entertainment was bad as was the embarkation. Grand Turk was lovely. I had another cruise booked on Carnival Vista but just cancelled it. Now fighting with them to get deposit back. I'm so angry! Read Less

Let me start by saying we have been on 8 cruises so far. We mostly cruise on Carnival but have gone on Royal Caribbean a couple of times. Our last cruise on Carnival was over three years ago and we just came back from sailing on Carnival Glory over Thanksgiving week. We left out of Miami to the Western Caribbean for 7 nights. The EMBARKATION was a total mess. I do not ever remember having to wait outside the terminal in the heat to wait for a boarding number to be called. If you are early you will not be allowed to go inside, but if you are late you will be ushered to the front of the line. Yes, there were regular cruisers who knew this and took advantage of it, and Carnival allowed it to happen. The SHIP was dark, old and dated. The interior CABIN was smaller than those on other ships we've been on. The carpet was filthy (our feet were black after walking on it), our lamp shades were broken, and there is no longer a basket of sample toiletries in the bathroom. We signed up for the early DINING time. If you reserve a time and have an assigned table, Carnival now puts you on the upper level, where you won't be able to see when the wait staff sings and dances. It felt like we were being punished, while the good tables were left open to those who chose the "anytime dining" option. The FOOD: the portions were much smaller then in the past and the food was not as good. While the wait staff did a great job with how little there was of them, we were still late for the show every night after dinner and found ourselves waiting a long time for our meals. I recommend letting them know (before dinner) if you want coffee after dinner, or it takes forever for them to bring it to you. We were the most disappointed in the ENTERTAINMENT. The shows used to be the highlight of the cruise. The number of performers has been cut in half and they don't use real props on stage anymore. Instead there is a big screen for a digital background and they use videos to supplement the singers and dancers. I don't want to take away from the performers, because the ones that were there could really sing and dance. I blame the poor quality of the entire production on corporate budget cuts. One lady next to me commented that a high school theater class could put on a better production and I agree with her. The COMEDIANS used to be great. We gave three different comedians a try and all three were horrible. Half the audience waked out before the sets were over. The on-board SERVICE was ok. Our room steward was attentive and nice. The tables on the Lido deck and in the buffet area had dirty dishes on them for quite awhile. It seemed like there just wasn't the staff to keep up with the demand. We were left waiting between courses for quite a long time as well. As for the EXCURSIONS: IF YOU DON'T BOOK YOUR EXCURSIONS WITH CARNIVAL THEY NOW PUNISH YOU AND MAKE YOU GET OFF THE SHIP LAST. First, you have to get up early and get a number from Guest Services. Then they then will call the numbers over the speakers and tell you when and where you can get off the ship. This is completely chaotic and won't happen until all the people who booked excursions through Carnival are off the ship. Even if you didn't book an excursion with another company, they won't let you off to walk around the port. In summary, we were extremely disappointed with Carnival. The quality of service is simply not there anymore. I won't be recommending Carnival to any of our friends. In fact, there were several families talking about how bad this cruise was and asking each other who was a better company to book future cruises with. As for my family, we will be looking at other cruise lines and won't be booking with Carnival ever again. Read Less

The cruise had terrible sewer gas smell in cabin and on deck. 1st told that there was no problem, then continuously they are work on problem. But issue was never solved. The food was never served hot, just warm, the lobster was rubber, bake potatoes never done. Maintenance workers wanted to work in ceiling above you and your food while having breakfast. Would of like to hear more Caribbean music being played, instead of the dance music on deck. Had to put in headset and listen to my own music, For the most part the crew was friendly, I do not blame the servers for the poor quality of food being served. Went to several comedy shows and found them to be entertaining . JC the host was annoying. The performers in the Motown show and Epic Rock Show were excellent. Really enjoyed both. They had an art show on board, walked in to look and could not enjoy due aggressive sales person. Read Less

We picked the cruise based on the travel location... Once on the ship you could see that it was a little run down in places even though it had been through a refresh three years earlier. Would not recommend this ship to anyone for a cruise. This was our third Carnival cruise and we also traveled to the Mediterranean aboard Royal Caribbean. We have seen the progress of the whole cruise industry go down since the mid 90's. The food quality on this ship was bad, no taste and haft the time the food was either warm or cold. We complained to the people in charge of the food and they said it would be corrected but unfortunately the next day the same problem. The only time you got a somewhat hot temperature food was eating in the main dinning room. Once again for the amount of money you pay to stay on these ships you would think that the quality of the vacation would be much better!!! Read Less

This cruise was a celebration of my turning 50 and my daughter turning 16. This was not our first and with our Gold status we got less rather than more. We use to have chocolate covered strawberries in our room the first night. Last year there was a bottle of champagne in our room. We use to have happy hour the last night. Now we get one drink. I spent more money on this cruise vacation because I wanted to show my daughter other places than can be reached leaving from NY as we normally do. Two of the ports I paid for we couldn't go to due to bad weather and I get that. Instead we went to the Bahamas. It wouldn't have been so bad if the food was better and if they had a greater variety of entertainment. They seemed to have had the exact same things going on every day. The dance club opened twice that I know of and the comedians just seemed totally unprepared. And every picture I took was just horrible. I wanna say that it was just this ship because the other carnival ships I've cruised on we're great all around! I've been recommending carnival since my first cruise in 2008. But now I'm considering cancelling my booking on the Vista as well as having my friend cancel hers so that we can try a different cruise line. This cruise wasn't worth all the money I spent airfare and all. Usually We don't want the cruise to end but this time we couldn't wait to get home. Read Less

Worst cruise I've ever been on in 24 cruises. From the embarkation to debarkation it was very bad. The cabin was nice and roomy and the cabin steward was attentive, but the cabin was right under the Lido deck and their was noise all night from moving chairs. Dinning room staff was attentive but really slow. Food was better than I expected. Buffet closed at 9:30 with no ware to snack but pizza. If there is any dress code in the main dinning room it was not enforced. In the theater all the music was canned (no band) and it was so loud you could not hear the singer. The show quality was poor and need to go back to the production company and start over. Cruise director Eric was pretty good but his entire staff was really bad. It seem to me at every turn Carnival want to sell something extra thats free on other Cruise lines. Read Less
