I went on this cruise with my 2 older children. I have never been on a cruise before but really enjoyed myself & will plan to go again. There was so much to do & see. I was impressed. I was disappointed that they cancelled so many excursions. They cancelled 3 of them on us. My daughter ordered glasses & a bag & never got them. I think they could’ve at least replaced what she ordered with something similar if what she ordered wasn’t available at a discounted price because it’s something that she makes sure to tell everyone. So that started our cruise off on the wrong foot but... For a Canadian it’s a little expensive between exchange rates & airfare & hotels so I won’t be going again as soon as I would like but will definitely consider another trip in the future. Even with our hiccups we had a pleasant trip. The ship had plenty of things to do and the staff was super friendly. Our cabin was always cleaned quickly & when we asked Pasa about opening a bottle for us, he had it opened & sitting in a bucket filled with ice by the time we got back to our room. The dining room's food was awesome & you could whatever you wanted and as many as you wanted. The entertainment group were fantastic! The shows were worth checking out. Over all service was awesome on the boat. The ports where nice to get off at but like I said earlier I was disappointed with how many excursions Carnival cancelled on us. I'm not sure I would book any excursions through them again, I would wait until I was at port to book. Read Less

We were very disappointed in the room we had while on board. I booked this trip in July of 2018. The room we received did not match the description of what the Carnival agent told us it would be. We spoke to customer care and they acted like it wasn't a big deal. They emailed corporate, no response back until the 7th day of the trip. The food selection on buffet was not good. Everyday you found less and less to eat that was worth eating. The housekeeping staff and Chef Chaing from Singapore were the only friendly individuals that we got to know. The cruise director was fun and awesome, but everyone else sucked. We always wait until on board to purchase shore excursions so to get a little bit more information and feedback from shore excursions staff. We got none of that just basically what you want to do? Plus the shore excursions in Amber Cove was not as they advertised it to be. Also our air conditioning in our room didn't stay cool....again a nonchalant attitude by customer care. Plus when they finally called me back about the room we got the gentleman customer service person was excuse my French an asshole. He was argumentative, kept saying we have recording of your booking....but that can't be so as I did not book it with a female agent that he kept referring too. The internet service was a waste of money. It will be a long long time before we book with Carnival again. It's all about money to them and less about customer service. The ports we great. The entertainment was good. We didn't care for the comedian Jeff Shaw as he wasn't funny Read Less

We cruise with Carnival because we love Carnival. This is my 2nd Christmas cruise the first was on Vista. While on this cruise my mom became sick and their medical department (Michael) was amazing and took such great care of her. My mom travels with oxygen, c pap, and walking is hard, but she had a great time we rented a scooter and it was perfect. We had a room with a balcony, so she had a great view if she didn't get off the ship. Embark and debark went smoothly until the transfer bus dropped us off st the wrong terminal. Frontier changed terminals so check. Loved Coco, one of the fun squad, she has so much energy and really makes everyone around her have a great time. We loved the entertainment and of course Bingo! The ports were great and I liked how at Grand Turk you could just walk off the ship and the beach was right there. We definitely will cruise again with Carnival. Read Less

I chose this cruise because of price, itinerary, time of year and past experience. The ship is easy to get around. There did not seem to be long lines anywhere. Getting on and off the ship was easy and I used Carnival transportation to the debarkation airport. It was easy and arrived plenty of time to catch my 12:30 Miami flight home. The Playlist performers were excellent - don't miss their shows. I enjoyed some of the bands around the ship. Don't waste your time going to the fun ashore fun abroad information event and the shopping show on the first day. Unless you like Price is right then go to the excursion information event. The shopping maps you get when you get off the ship at each port. The ports were Belize, Mahogany Bay, Caymans and Cozumel and all were awesome. The water shuttles were easy and well timed. The only negative was lack of communication on Carnival's part while we were waiting to get off in Cozumel. They were trying to do a good thing by bringing a ferry to the ship for those of us who had Carnival excursions but the weather did not cooperate. Instead of telling us what was going on all of a sudden they said follow us and they led us to the gangway without telling us we were to pick up the ferry in the port. Actually other than leading us to the gangway there was no further communication and if this would have been first time traveling I would have been lost. We had a bit of rocky weather coming home on last sea day. Dishes were sliding off the tables in dining room and waiters did an excellent job of trying to keep them on the tables. They added cloth napkins under plates to keep them from sliding. Maybe Carnival should think about bringing back tablecloths for ALL meals! Cruise director - only time saw him was his introductions to the performances and the shore excursion presentation. Could do without him. Not impressed. Read Less

The food was not great, in fact as a foodie, I would describe it as mediocre. Dinner was best, but still not stellar, desserts were the best part of every meal. Even the kids thought it was gross. One of a small list of reasons we chose a cruise over a resort vacation was for the food. I've been on 5 cruises (my 2nd Carnival) and this was by far the worst food I'd ever had on a cruise, unless you went to the steakhouse and paid (approx $50 per person with the required gratuity). Which was frustrating because it proved that Carnival had the ability to make delicious food, but chose not to. This made me believe that they did this intentionally to get patrons to pay for the steakhouse. The steakhouse was amazing, the best steak I have ever had in my life. I was so full from all the yummy food that I couldn’t even think about dessert. If you had large groups for dinner, you usually had to wait more than an hour for a table and there weren’t any snacks nearby to hold people over. You couldn’t make a reservation for the regular dining, so we had to wait every night or break up our group to eat dinner. It would have been great if Carnival would have allowed all groups over 6 or 9 to make reservations. I learned to get a small snack prior to dinner to keep from feeling sick from hunger. The only 24 hour food is pizza (mediocre at best) and usually had long lines after bars let out...which makes sense. My husband has a gluten sensitivity and so for a late night snack he had to order pizza and only eat the toppings (not a lot of food and a waste). They did pretty good at getting pizza out quickly, but you couldn't really special order because of this. Usually there was pepperoni available and if you wanted anything else, you'd have to wait a while. It would have been great if Carnival offered other 24 hour options, but considering how poor the food was to begin with, I suppose this would not have made a big difference. Breakfast buffet lines were long (we did not try it during lunch, but I would assume the same). We waited 20+ minutes for breakfast because they had to serve us our bacon, yet we were able to serve ourselves everything else. The layout of the buffet didn't make any sense. They had cereal, small milk, yogurt and fruit at the very beginning (this should have all been placed in the "continental breakfast " area). Then there was the exact same items every single day (eggs Benedict that was not very good at all, scrambled eggs that seems like some kind of egg substitute, sausage, grits, oatmeal, baked beans, some kind of potato and bacon that had to be served to you, and pancakes and french toast. The compote was placed before the grits and pancakes, so you had to have it running all over your plate). Then there was a rope which made it difficult to leave the line, and caused congestion. Directly past the rope was an omelette station, which added to the congestion and the line. Previous cruises I have been on have had a theme for their meals, so that you weren’t stuck eating the same thing daily. They may have done this for the sit down breakfast, but we only had the buffet for breakfast, so I am not sure. The taco place had Huevos Rancheros which were decent. There was limited lounging in shade near the pool and other areas on the ship and workers did not remove peoples towels from seats that were "saved" even though this is supposed to be against ship guidelines. I enjoy the heat, but am not a fan on being in direct sunlight, so I did find this disappointing. It would be helpful if Carnival invested in umbrellas for the patio for guests whom would just like to lounge. If you are a drinker, buy the drink package. If not, bring soda and water for your room or you'll regret it. We were not allowed to purchase the drink package for just a single day like we had wanted to do for our way home, which was disappointing. We didn’t have the extra $900 for a drink package for 2 people (which is absurdly priced, if you ask me). I would have liked to have just been able to have a beer and wine package, since my husband is a beer drinker and I am a wine drinker but this was not an option without paying the $900 for the full drink package. We did purchase 2 bottles of booze for our room prior to the cruise, only 1 showed up the first night and we had to run around the ship trying to track down the other….they weren’t not planning on bringing it. 2 bottles was the max allowed for the whole trip (which we thought was silly since the drink package is 15 drinks per person per day), but we didn’t end up using it all because it was such a pain to walk back to the room every time we wanted a drink. I wouldn’t recommend doing this. The drinks that we purchased from the bar were always super weak and expensive (at least $10 each, plus gratuity). Please keep in mind that I have cruised with other cruise lines and this was never the case with them. Other cruise lines also offer a beer and wine package too. Our cruise consultant had told us prior to the cruise that if we precorked our own wine that we brought to dinner that we wouldn't be charged the $15 corkage fee, but we were. Just something else for Carnival to nickel and dime us on. The adult area was good, but had limited shaded seating and VERY few cabanas. There was also no food options in the adult area. They could easily provide hotdogs or pretzels or other things. My 13 and 14 year old said the club area was awful, but that the next club up had tons more amenities. Which is disappointing because one of the main reasons we chose the Glory was based off of reviews for kids. She and her friend never went to the club and while they enjoyed our vacation, they were super disappointed in the Glory. The $5 messaging app is pretty cool to keep in touch with your group. I would highly recommend you get this. You connect to the ships wifi (not the one that you pay for) and keep your phone in airplane mode. We had a group of 18 people, so it made it very handy to meet up. One of our friends purchased the wifi and said it was super slow. I would not recommend purchasing it. I loved the piano bar. It was super fun. It did close at 1am and the service was pretty slow usually. I know how hard the employees are worked, so I wouldn't complain about that too much. Comedy was also pretty good, but only lasted about half an hour, so wasn't really worth our time to do. Our stewardess and all the employees were amazing and super friendly. I would recommend bringing a lot of $1 bills to tip employees with. I know there is a required gratuity, but I do not know how much of that actually makes it into the lower employees pockets. If you’ve ever read reviews from cruise line employees, you’ll see why I say this. The sports bar was poorly designed. The tables behind the bar were lower than the seats at the bar. Therefore, patrons sitting at the tables couldn't see a single full screen due to the patrons sitting at the bar. It made it very difficult to enjoy the game. Be aware of Ship time versus the time on your phone. They are not always the same and the ship goes off of ship time. The Carnival Hub app, always displayed ship time, so that was helpful. The Check in process was super quick and easy. If you check in early, which was easy, your room will not be ready. So, you will have to hang by the pool until it’s your designated time to arrive. And you will not have your room key yet, so if you want a beverage, it will be out of your own pocket. I would recommend you not take your own bags upon check out. The elevators are always super slow and I am fairly certain they were not working at all on the day of check out. I had to carry a 50 pound bag down flights of stairs (I weigh 105 pounds)....this was not easy for me. The only downfall to having them move your bags is that they have to be left out the night before. So, you have to know what you plan on wearing and have everything packed up the night prior. I did receive a birthday gift card from Carnival, which was nice, but it was only good on certain services and I couldn’t use it the first day at sea. So, I did not use mine. Our port at St Thomas seemed way too early. I know that there are plenty of early birds out there, but we were staying up late most nights and to arrive at port at 8am was difficult, especially when going on an excursion. Luckily the weather was very nice, but snorkeling at 8am is generally not my idea of fun. Do your research ahead of time when booking excursions and also regarding the ports. We got off at Grand Turk and were hustled into paying for lounge chairs that apparently were free and provided by Carnival. While I do take responsibility for this, Carnival could have made an announcement to let their guests know that the chairs were free and not to pay the locals for them. There were also drug deals in plain sight and a fight among the locals in Grand Turk. It's not a place I need to go to again, even though the water was wonderful. One of our friends also had issues in Dominican Republic with a cab driver taking them to places they said they didn't want to go and other friends had issues with the excursion people trying to guilt them into tipping. This has nothing to do with Carnival (other then the Grand Turk port), but felt it was important to note for others traveling in those places. Usually you can get the same excursions or better for way less if you don't book through Carnival. Booking through Carnival is convenient though. We LOVED the excursion that we did in DR and given how dirty and not safe DR is, we were very glad we chose this. It was an excursion to a big home with shuttle and beach with open bar and a super yummy lunch. There were 2 offered but based off of reviews (1 mentions dirty water with a condom floating), we went with the other and it was amazing. Mama was our host and if I went to DR again via a cruise, this would be the only excursion I would want to do. All in all, I have to say that the cruise was ok, but I'm going with a different cruise line next time. If the food had been better and if they offered a lower price beer/wine package I'd give Carnival another try, but it wasn't worth the money in the long run. Read Less

One thing that works on this ship is the a/c! We love the Punchliner comedy but it was so cold in the Ebony Cabaret you could hang meat in there, we could not bear to stay in there for the comedians. Room service was very late or non-existant! Saw our room steward, Antonio, on first day and never for the rest of the cruise. MDR menus seem to be scaled way down with fewer options. Buffet seemed to be the same things repeatedly. Embarkation and debarkation went smoothly since we are Platinum members. Cabin smelled like sewage when we came in. Although it was an "accessible" cabin, it was very crowded and inadequate storage. The beds could not be separated without blocking the mini-fridge. The ports and excursions were great however there was alot more walking than we bargained for. The piers alone are very very long! We enjoyed the Hasbro game show and the trivia games. General decor on this ship is not impressive and left us non-plussed. Read Less

I chose the Carnival Glory because it was sailing to St. Thomas, Puerto Rico & Amber Cove for my birthday. Im a little disappointed in myself because I took a map and did not wake up for the greet & mingle party on Sunday. Sorry guys next time. While on board of course Guys burger was fantastic. However, I was disappointed in the seafood shack.....the fish was to greasy with to much batter, a big let down. I tried for two days to get to the pool but as expected no room & the kids was jumping in and splashing (unsupervised). At dinner time our table was non approachable and did not chat even after I told jokes ( I guess it wasn't funny) so we switched tables the next night. The comedy club was floored ( literally) standing room only & sitting on the steps. I really enjoyed John Dicrosta ( purchase his CD). All the comedians were good. I really didn't care for the self centered cruise director Dustin. Everything was about him & not enough about the fun as Carnival say. Could have been more shows and of course I lost at CLUE....but had fun looking for clues. My steward was great (Sang) and the dining room serves and I forget the Spa... The ports were beautiful especially St. Thomas were I found a great tour guide and explored the island and Beach. Puerto Plata was great ...the food....just great and I brought jewelry and Mamajuna...very tasty. Puerto Rico I visited the Barcardi factory were I had my first Mojito and poured my own bottle of liquor. Grand Turk didn't do much for me but fun in the sun is always good when you leaving 32 degree weather. Overall I had a great time in spite of the fish & Dustin. Read Less

WHY THIS CRUISE: We chose this ship/cruise primarily for the varied itinerary and number of stops in interesting places. My husband and I (in our 60's) had visited all the ports; my daughter and son-in-law had the fun of some new ports on this trip. OUR TRIP TO MIAMI: We drove down from North Carolina on Friday and stayed in the Sleep Inn, Airport. We've been there before and the hotel offers a sweet deal if you are driving-- they participate in the "park and cruise" program where you can leave the car there for the duration of the cruise. The rooms are older, but clean and it's a nice facility with a good breakfast bar. They don't offer free shuttle to the cruise port, but contract with a third-party who charges a reasonable $10, driving straight to the port. On the morning we left for the cruise, someone came back from a cruise to find her car had been broken into, but our car was safe and sound when we returned (I did put everything in the trunk -- GPS, travel clothes, etc., to get anything of interest out of sight). EMBARKATION: We opted for Faster to the Fun, but were disappointed that our cabins were not ready when we boarded the ship (at our 11:30am appointment). I have looked back on the website which continues to mention that Faster to the Fun includes this feature, so I'm a little puzzled about why it wasn't honored this time. We roll our luggage on, so we had to keep it in tow for a couple of hours. ::shrug:: not the end of the world, but just a little surprised. Embarkation itself was quick and uneventful. We did get priority embarkation and it was a breeze. OUR CABIN: We had upgraded from an inside cabin at the front of the ship to a mid-ship balcony cabin, thanks to a special offer. Our cabin was 6375 (on the "Upper Deck," deck 6). It never occurred to me that things happening BELOW the cabin would affect the noise level, but as this cabin was directly over the little stage outside the casino oon the promenade deck (deck 5), we "enjoyed" music until the wee hours every night, whether we wanted to or not. Again, I'm a pretty easy grader and after a couple of nights, I was able to mostly disregard it, but that might be a deal-breaker for someone very sensitive to extra noise. The cabin itself was lovely, kept in tip-top shape by our room steward, Komang. THE SHIP: the ship is looking a little shopworn, although staff keep it very clean. I noticed some peeling varnish, chipped bar in the bathroom, and other small signs of age. To me, this just added a little character. I noticed that it's due for a refurb next year and I'll be interested to see what happens there. DINING: We enjoyed breakfast at the buffet and at the sit-down restaurant along with one of the two brunches offered. I felt the food was entirely acceptable, always tasty, served in a reasonable portion-size. Last year, I complained about the so-so desserts offered. This year, Carnival offered absolutely scrumptious cakes, individually served. That was a welcome improvement. I'm still yearning for more of that carrot cake! We ate dinner in the main dining room where Rodah, Ida and CrisJay were excellent and attentive servers. The food in the dining room was lovely, always served in an appetizing way and well-seasoned. I was surprised to get an extra lobster on that special night! Whoa! Unexpected, but very welcome! CHEF'S TABLE: We participated in the Chef's Table -- first time for my daughter and son-in-law -- and it was delicious and beautiful. We especially enjoyed Chiang from Singapore, who gave a clear and most interesting explanation of the exotic foods presented. She also answered questions with honesty, grace, and humor. Whatever Carnival is paying this young woman needs to be increased because she is a fantastic ambassador for Carnival. ENTERTAINMENT: We enjoyed the "welcome aboard" show in the Amber Palace, but did not make another show. We didn't go to comedy shows or participate in the on-deck events. When we have a balcony room, we tend to spend a lot of time out there. Because of the room acoustics, we did hear all of the bands in the Casino location. There was a horn ensemble that was especially good and a latin band that was terrific. A fellow playing steel drum was amazing. Others were not as skilled, but not completely awful. My cruise expectations for music are pretty low -- something pleasant in the background, or possibly to dance to is about all I'm looking for. PORTS: • Grand Turk -- we planned no excursion this time, just shopped in the cruise port and enjoyed the pool at Margaritaville (where we also enjoyed touching base back home with some free internet access). • San Juan, PR -- we walked to one of the forts and got in FREE thanks to my national senior pass which I actually remembered to bring. We were in PR late, but we came back fairly early and just enjoyed the ship. • St. Thomas, VI -- this was a great day! We booked a wonderful cultural walk and food tour and it did not disappoint. Gerard, the guide, was wry and well-spoken and took us to some amazing spots for some great local and traditional food. • Amber Cove, DR -- a beautiful day made our time by the pool very enjoyable. We also shopped port stores, but had no excursion planned here. There are several places offering free internet and an earthcache if you enjoy geocaching. CRUISING DUCKS: I have only recently learned about the cute game of hiding little rubber ducks for children (and others) to find while cruising. I brought a few to hide and posted the photos on FB along with a hint -- they were all found and it added a little something extra to the trip this year. I hope that Carnival will continue to permit this bit of innocent fun. CARNIVAL HUB: This app has made great strides since I used it last year (or maybe I just learned to use it better). I never opened the highlighters I brought to make note of special events because you can do that on the Hub app. You can also check your account balance, chat with friends on the ship (for an extra $5 for the whole cruise), see what's on the menu, etc. INTERNET: I usually just pay for a day or two of internet while on a sea day so that I can check in back home. This time, I opted for the less expensive "social plan" and found it entirely adequate. I couldn't check email, but could chat via Messenger, which was useful and fun. SPA "PAMPER PARTY" -- I attended one of these on a sea day. I expected some hard-selling, but actually found it to be entertaining. I was astonished to find a medical doctor on board who provides more advanced procedures like botox and the like. I was not tempted, but very intrigued by the concept. Using a coupon from the Pamper Party, I enjoyed a 75 minute massage which was relaxing and skillfully done. Read Less

The food in the dining room was very good. Our cabin was on Deck 8 and we loved being close to the pool and LIdo buffet. The Punchliner Comedy Club was our favorite. The comedians were very funny. We really enjoyed the Rainforest excursion in Puerto Rico. Our guide was very informative. We didn’t do an excursion on Grand Turk but chose to stay at the port and take advantage of the free chairs and umbrellas. We rented a Jeep on Saint Thomas and drove around the island. I would definitely not recommend doing that. The roads were very narrow, had sharp turns and dangerous cliffs. I would definitely cruise on the Glory again and visit those ports again! Read Less

Finally, the price we paid for the cruise and excursions was truly an unbeatable deal! the onboard entertainment was very good and we really enjoyed the presentations (and antics) of dustin, the cruise director. our cabin stewards gemma and jeffry were always at the ready, and they knew our names from day one. the main dining staff (platinum) were great and always attentive to everyone's needs, both regular mealtime staff, and especially the seaday brunch staff. my only complaint for the entire cruise was that the public spaces (i.e. Main dining room, amber palace, and ebony cabaret) as well as our cabin was extremely cold for us florida seniors! other than that it was a very good cruise and we would sail on 'glory' again. I just love to cruise and hang out on my balcony and watch the ocean. I LOVE the food, the staff, the excursions etc. Im never quite sure when I see others give a bad review. This is my 7th cruise and my 6th with Carnival. I have even had excursions cancelled (usually for weather) but for me, a day cruising is better than a day at work! So I would advise for people to research on their own and take reviews (even mine-good or bad) with a grain of salt. Good luck in your search. While I enjoy Carnival, Disney may be more fun for children. (I’ve been in Disney as well). In my opinion there is a cruise line for everyone. Enjoy! Read Less

For me, this cruise was all about being on the cruise on my 50th birthday. That being said, it was an amazing cruise and also just happened to be on the Glory, which is the first cruise ship I ever cruised on. Being my 50th cruise, I definitely splurged on my cabin. We had the Captain’s Suite, and had two different cocktail parties on the huge balcony. Our cabin steward, Sang, was great. He went above and beyond getting the different glasses and ice bucket’s and what not for my cocktail parties. The ship itself is seeming a little older. It doesn’t seem like Carnaval is keeping up their ships the way they used to. That is a little disheartening, since I really only cruise on Carnival and would like them to quit cutting corners. It seems like they just cut a lot of corners now to save money on different things. I was shocked to learn that my Stewart had 33 cabins to deal with. I guess that’s why now they ask you if you want to service once or twice a day. I realize carnival is probably the least expensive cruise line, but it would be nice if they had the same standard they had 10 years ago when I started cruising. That being said, overall, my cruise was amazing. The dinners were great in the dining room, and the night we had in the steakhouse was absolutely amazing. Read Less

This was our first cruise, so you know we were excited! There were a few issues, but over all I had a nice time. That doesn't mean I'm not shopping for a different cruise line for the future. As I was reading the others posts about Glory November 2018, I was agreeing with everything that was said. The amount of children under 12 running around unsupervised was ridiculous. The last night, there were a hot tub filled with kids being loud and obnoxious. We even witnessed arms swinging as kids were shouting at each other. That went on for about 10 minutes before a worker stepped in. Other times, you had to watch out that a child didn't run by you as you were carrying your plate of food. I agree the casino was generous in the beginning, the food was ok, I wish there were other options for after 6pm to eat at. We even were asked to move out of our assigned seats on the 3rd night in the dining room so another family could sit there. Room service was extremely slow and when they come, there is a slight tap on the door. We missed them a few times. I would recommend they add a smoking area in the adult area, so that adults could just stay up there secluded from most of the kids. There are 2 outside smoking areas, but so crowded Our room was comfy, clean , and our steward was so friendly. We had an Interior and I didn't hvae any issues with motion sickness as I assumed I would. Read Less

I thought the cruise was amazing! I’ll agree Carnival could improve the buffet. Dining room was great, Guys burgers are amazing. The staff work there tails off and keep a smile on their faces and always willing to go the extra mile. Our wait staff was amazing Walter was fantastic! The cruise director is fun and keeps the party going day and night! The ports were so fun! I believe you make your own fun and do the things you enjoy and if you stick to that your trip will be amazing too. The ship is immaculate, there constantly cleaning. My only complaint would be the deli where the sandwiches are superb, the problem is the line is long and never movers by no fault of the poor guy behind the counter since there’s only one guy back there you need 3 - 4 people working back there. Also maybe keep the deli, Guys and the barbecue place open longer. But for the most part.we were 9 people on the cruise and we all had an amazing time!!!! We can’t wait to cruise Carnival again! Have been on worse ships, this was outdated but we found it clean, funky smells in certain areas - (like in most ships) Lido deck, food selection not inviting. Day after day the same selections. Guys Burger and BBQ refreshing. Known for a younger crowd with families as it is affordable. Overall, we don't have complaints. Definately needs better elevator service and deportation was very disorganized. We enjoyed our time and relaxed. We are older so we dictated what and when we wanted to do things! I am in a wheelchair and getting on and off the ship from beginning to end was difficult. The ramps are too short and everything and everyone has to stop and wait on you. I did not like this, embarrassing and everyone is in a hurry and I got a lot of dirty looks and sighs! Until you have to be in a wheelchair you don't understand its inconvenience. I assume parents with strollers had the same issues! You just have to smile and apologize for inconviencing them! Would go again Read Less

1. Name of ship-Carnival Glory 2. Room #1298 3. date-November 2018 If you find anything in all the time and effort to putting this review together, please let me know with a helpful vote! 4. Pros-Servers, Phoebe and Conrad, fast internet, Ship tour and meeting the captain, nice shows, good dining room food. 5. Cons- Poor Maitre d’ service, no maps provided for our ports (this was a first for us), No info that there was a Christmas theme day, Grand Turk, crowded Lido deck, smallest Atrium, left stateroom keys at your room. 6. Room- 7. Bed=A The main beds have the comfort mattresses but not the Pullmans, they are uncomfortable 8. Pillows=Our pillows were comfortable 9. Heating and air= We were kept comfortable, sometimes units don’t work well enough but this was fine. 10. Metal walls= Doors were and some walls. We always bring magnetized items like a grease board for the door, pen holders, kid magnets for the walls, magnet hooks, etc. 11. shower size= Well, it’s a cruise ship so small… it is a curtain style (see pic). 12. noise= There was some kind of electric machine near our room that we could hear run 10-30 seconds then shut off. It wasn’t obtrusive and never woke us up but something you noticed and wondered what’s that noise. The room location was actually pretty quiet other than our neighbors not know how to catch a door and letting them slam. 13. Bathroom- we REALLY like all shelves and large counter with 6 shelves attached to the mirror. It looked older but who cares, we care about storage for our stuff (see pic). 14. smooth= Not sure if it was the ship or the weather but we didn’t have much yaw or pitch (rocking). 15. weather= I’d say we got very lucky on this cruise because it rained and sea days and not on port days. The Dominican Republic didn’t start raining until after we boarded the ship. 16. Ship GPS= I’m glad that it appears that all the ships now have the on board tracking with ship info… Not sure if this the geek in me or what but I hated older ships not having that information on my TV. 17. internet=The internet (social package anyway) was pretty good on this ship even in my cabin allowing several pictures to be uploaded in just a minute or two, which by ship internet standards is pretty good. 18. Dining=We were a party of 5 and to our surprise we were seated at a 4 top table. We know it wasn’t our waiters’ fault and notified the Maître d’ assistant. The next day we went to her first and was informed that the tables are full and suggested to go to anytime dining (if we wanted anytime that is what we would have booked). We asked if anything opened to let us know as this should have never happened in the first place. Well, we were never moved to a proper table and in all the cruises we’ve been on with a party of 5 did they ever pull something like this. Apparently, they thought since we have a 5-year-old that you can just stick him on the end and not take up much room but anyone with kids knows how wrong this is. Of all the cruises we have always met the Maitre d’ and since he never came around, this person is an obvious fail for the Carnival Glory. Our lead server Phoebe was good when she was there but was out sick several days and the assistants English was poor and service was lacking I guess due to being shorthanded. 19. The table was in a high traffic area, but we were not cramped. 20. laundry=I don’t believe there is laundry facilities on this ship for the public, we did tour the laundry facility for dry cleaning and the ship’s hotel and crew. I was particularly impressed with the automatic sheet folder and how many sheets it can fold in a minute. PUBLIC AREAS 21. Atrium= The smallest I’ve ever seen so all the events were super crowded (see pic of me with the Billy Jean by Michael Jackson tile) 22. Smoking= Other than going by the casino (which they always put in an open high traffic area) Carnival has gotten better about restricting smoking in low traffic areas away from our kids which is much appreciated. 23. Lido deck/pool=A unique tiered setup (see pic) that made for getting around very difficult/crowded at the pool area as well as the many levels around the pool area. Would have been near impossible for a stroller or wheelchair to be used with all the stairs. Once you got a seat, it was fine for the outdoor screen with pretty good views. Per Cruise Critic 24. Personal Background Information=This was my 11th cruise and we often travel with my family of 2 young boys currently 5 and almost 2. We went with our good friends and this was their first cruise, 25. Travel To Port of Embarkation=Flew to FLL 26. Hotel Info (if any)= Stayed at the La Quinta Inn with free airport shuttle and arranged cruise port shuttle (see my review on Trip Advisory). 27. Embarkation=They assigned you a boarding number dependent on your arrival time and you took a seat in the meantime (appeared to be plenty of seating). We arrived an hour or more before our time and I think we were zone 6. Once ship boarding started, we were on board pretty quick. 28. Stateroom=1298 (inside) It seems unsafe to leave your room key at your room… what if someone goes in your room at takes a robe, who get charged for that? I understand it moves things faster but this doesn’t seem to be a good idea from a security standpoint. 29. Ship Info=Carnival Glory 30. Dining=early assigned, we always prefer so we get to know our servers and they know us. 31. Activities= - Children's Clubs 32. Staff & Service=Not much to say other than my 5 year usually loves going but he went once and never wanted to go back. We made him try again and the staff seemed friendly and tried to get him to engaged but he didn’t want to stay. This was odd for him. 33. Entertainment=Motown show with Motown music was enjoyable (I’m from Michigan so some bias there) but the shows quality on Carnival has really improved over past few years. Their ‘new’ LED screen really helped the effects of the shows. 34. Shore Excursions= Grand Turk: Not much to see here… was quoted a price and my 5 year old would be free (this is typical) but the driver tried to scam us saying I would have to pay full price for my kid. When I told him forget it and went to the tour operator, she told him that kids are free to take us or she would get another driver to do it. He then tried to get me to pay half for my kid and I told him no, then he begrudgingly agreed but I looking back wished I told him to get lost and go with another more honorable driver. Island is small, not much to see but an old lighthouse that wants $5 just to go into the yard (not climb it) and wild donkeys. Beautiful waters though we didn’t swim here. St Thomas: Sky ride has spectacular views and well worth the money to get awesome pictures of your ship and port. Cheap souvenirs up here too, just shop around a little bit. Puerto Rico: We took a taxi to Castillo San Filipe del Morro (the big fort) and walked back to the ship and stopped at the smaller Castillo de San Cristobal fort. I really enjoyed the big fort, I’ve been to several and the size of this one was impressive. My wife thought the walk back to the ship was much longer than the taxi driver led us to believe, but it was downhill and not too bad for the rest of us. Dominican Republic: Have to admit it was my favorite but we never went outside of the cruise theme park type of port. We all enjoyed the monstrous swim park very much, they even have a kids water splash pad. Everything was very close, a lot to do in the port but as far as getting any knowledge of the island, it’s people or life on the island I got none. Maybe next time we will, maybe not since we enjoyed it so much. 35. Disembarkation=We always pick last to get off, go to the dining room as late as possible and just hang out until the crowd clears. Our waiter Conrad encouraged us to stay, he was a hoot and we immediately liked him. We complimented him on how well he treated us and he shared that he is a Christian and in over 15 years of service is what he lives to do personally and professional. We would have loved to have always had him as our sever with his magnetic personality. 36. Summary=Other than the dining debacle that was never resolved, we had a very good time and look forward to sailing again on the Carnival Glory. I have been on several cruises with carnival in the past, and was expecting the same level of quality as my previous cruises. Boy was I in for a shock. For starters the ship was overrun with kids they were in the adult only section, stealing candy from the shop on the 5th floor, and running full speed into guests. I had dinner at the steakhouse and the quality of the meat was not worth the 38 per person that I had paid. On several occasions I was charged for excursions that I did not order. Every single time listed for activities on their hub started late. The only event that started early was the bag pickup that caused several guests on my floor to be unable to have their bags picked up for the disembarkation. I ordered room service which ended up taking over an hour to receive and causing me and my wife to miss the lip sync battle. My room was extremely hot for the duration of the cruise. The internet package is so slow as to be not functional. Read Less

So my hubby and I got married a week and a half ago and decided to celebrate while on the cruise. BIG MISTAKE! This is not our first cruise so we were excited to be embarking but not prepared for the day to day disappointment. We were sad to miss the formal dining due to getting our laundry back late. We requested for it to be pressed but when we finally received it it was crumpled in a bag all wrinkled. But of course they charged us for it. When we called to ask if they could iron it they told my husband, and I quote, "iron it yourself!" Since we missed the formal dining we decided to go see what they had in the buffet and literally everything was closed except the places that charged for food. We tried not to let that encounter sour our mood so we changed in to bathing suits and went up to the serenity deck where it's 21 and older, or so we thought. There were kids running all around the deck, laying in the hammocks, sitting in the hot tubs... it was ridiculous. We asked a crew member if they could tell the kids to go downstairs and the crew member just shrugged, laughed and walked away. We asked another crew member if they could get us a waiter so we could order drinks and they told us to go get it ourselves, they were busy. I understand it being Thanksgiving holiday week and children being on the ship but this was crazy. Kids running at full speed into people with canes. You couldn't walk anywhere without a child running into you or hitting you. You couldn't be in the casino without a child running around pressing everyone's buttons on the machines while you were literally playing. It was chaotic. All the while the employees just turned away and didn't do anything. We had various charges added to our account that we had to keep a watchful eye on every day. It all added up to over $300 of excursions that were for 3 people when it was only 2 of us in our cabin room. Why do they even bother to schedule anything if they are never on time???? Ugh I lost count of how many things we had to rearrange due to their lack of keeping time. There were only a handful of employees that were actually nice to people . Jess, Coco, JJ, and Milan were the ONLY ONES that were respectful. The rest of the crew needs retraining! Read Less

Positive....the crew and staff......Negative, everything else, interior fabrics such as curtains, chair covers on their last leg, entertainment is high school level, food is hit and miss, no where to eat after 11pm except pizza or room service. Im not a party person however I don't sleep well and often just want something to drink or snack on and there is no place to go for that. I was on this ship Nov 2017 and than again Nov 2018 and nothing and I mean absolutely nothing has changed in the way of onboard games, activities and shows (only the singers and dancers). I was so disappointed. Its like paying to see the same movie over and over and over, nothing to new to look forward to. The Hasbro, Clue, Lip Sync are so lame (Im 67) and to play Bingo is $20 a game!! Unless your a casino player theres not much to do on sea days. The pools and hot tubs were taken over by kids under 12 except for the Serenity Deck and that pool is REALLY small and one hot tub was even open on that deck. All in all Im rethinking about doing a Carnival ever again, I think it might be worth an extra $100 each to try a different cruiseline. I will state again that the crew folks were wonderful. We enjoyed the Glory. Crew members were very friendly & helpful. This is a "Conquest" class ship, which means you are unable to go from forward to aft on a few of the decks, which is a bit confusing & inconvenient. Food service & quality were excellent. Entertainment was a bit sparse. I was disappointed that CCL has decided to charge $ for cranberry juice at breakfast, also disappointed that CCL no longer had a future cruise agent on board. We are Platinum guests, which means we should have gotten 3 bags of laundry each on a 7 day, done for free. But no laundry bags were in our cabin & when I requested bags, I only received one, having to ask for the 2nd one. I was never offered anymore, this was a bit disappointing. Perhaps part of CCL's cutbacks. We had rain for 2 out of our 4 ports, a bit disappointing, but of course not the fault of CCL This was a premier cruise, so the casino was always packed. Machines were generous on the 1st couple of days, very tight the last couple of days. Casino was even open on a couple of port days, which was surprising to me. Read Less

Staff are very friendly and they love to tell you about where they are from. Embarkation/debarkation were a breeze. Only did two excursions since I have been to the islands multiple times. Did the lift to Paradise Point in St Thomas. Great place for the views and great food and drinks. Free wi-fi and spent the afternoon relaxing there as the rain poured down. Went on the Monkey Jungle excursion in DR. That was an awesome experience and will plan on doing it again the next time I am there. A long drive to get there but will worth it and the tour guide kept us entertained the whole time. Read Less

We wanted a relatively affordable cruise with a Caribbean itinerary to places we have not visited before. Carnival Glory delivered! For experienced Carnival travelers, you know what to expect: a medium sized ship (3000 passengers), jam packed activities, staff who will pamper you, the usual cruise fare to eat. The Glory is an older ship and, like many older ships, needs some refurbishments, but it was clean and familiar. Crew and staff goes out of its way to please you (shout out to Rolando in the Platinum Dining Room and his staff and Yuli and his assistant as our room steward). Food was okay - loved the Ports of Call menus at dinner. Deli and pizza are pretty good but service was slow, even at off peak times. Did not like the Old Fashioned Barbecue fare or desserts offered other than at dinner. Stage shows were entertaining; the comedians were so-so; Jorge was the best of the lot. Shopping is not a big deal on the ship compared to other cruise lines. Our balcony cabin (8336 mid ship) was spacious and comfy enough for 2 - had a mini fridge which was a pleasant surprise as not all Carnival ships include one. Some upholstery is looking its age but we were satisfied. Have not been to Caymans, Belize or Roatan before, so this cruise filled one of our goals. Pools are crowded and you have to contend with chair hogs although the Serenity Decks were surprisingly open and available, compared to other Carnival cruises. Room service was on time 4/5 days we ordered it in the morning. (the only time it was late was when we ordered it for 730-800am window,) We did not like the smoke belching from the Casino onto Deck 5 or elevators. Despite complaints, Carnival will not do anything about it. All in all, a lovely trip that we would like to do again. We booked our own excursions indepedent of the ship. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO SHIP TIME AND LOCAL PORT TIME. This was very frustrating for us.and other cruisers, especially when cell phones did not register time changes properly. getting on and off the ship was a snap. Watch out for passengers disembarking before their assigned timeas this caused a bit of delay in Miami Read Less

Been on the Glory previously. It's an older ship, but still a favorite of ours. EMBARKATION: Don't understand why VIP members are boarded only 2 minutes before general boarding begins. Not much of a perk , if you have to greet a mob on embarkation. CABIN: Balcony cabin on port side. Nice view of ports and the ocean. DINING: Lido generally good, don't expect 5 stars, let's call it APPLEBEE's PLUS. Still pretty good on lido, although the selections get fewer and fewer with each cruise. We really enjoyed the SEAFOOD SHACK, make sure you check it out...costs a few $$ but quality was good. GUYS BURGERS...always packed, and best burger around. TACO/BURRITO place also good, but crowded. PIZZA: always a favorite, not that crowded but good pizza. The DELI was really good, and had daily special sandwiches....pretty good crowd here..but worth the line. NOTE: Always annoyed at cruisers who INSIST on eating their way through the Lido Buffet line....seriously, can't you wait to sit down?.....eating food with fingers while moving through the grazing line is not only unsanitary but bad mannered. DO NOT take food with fingers off the serving trays....Saw one person take a roll, inspect it, then placed back in the tray....Oh my. DINING ROOM: Whew...where to start....Generally good.
