I was disappointed in this cruise, and I don't think I will sail with Celebrity again. The food was nothing special at all; and we didn't think it was any better in the 2 specialty restaurants we tried. The cafe desserts never changed and were less than ordinary. We also didn't find the staff to be very friendly. They rarely smiled or tried to be pleasant it seemed. There were some who were great (and our stateroom guy was great) but in general many were mostly disappointing. They nickel and dime you; and won't even print boarding passes for those that don't have an internet package! They charge for ice cream(for some) at the ice cream place across from the cafe! Entertainment was so so. The computer room guys were not helpful or knowledgeable. Many of the staff were on the their phones! always pulling their phones out of their pockets and looking at them. Not enough activities and not varied enough. Read Less

Booked the best of India and Sri Lanka at very short notice and with a great discount in the sale. This is our third Celebrity Cruise. The other two were on the Eclipse to the Baltic and on the Xpedition to Galapagos. This cruise was not in the same class. The ship is very dated with depressing brown decorations everywhere. I can look past this as it’s overdue a refurb which is planned shortly. What I can’t overlook is the aggressive sales strategy which is invasive throughout the ship. Seems to be a glorified shop on the sea! You are targeted for an upscale at every opportunity. Salesmen even visiting your table while you dine trying to sell various upscale dining events. The food standards have dropped massively even in the Specialty dining where two steaks were inedible. The main cafe area was like a scrum most days with some variable quality. The battered fish was so bad I saw many dishes being returned. Staff attitude was also variable which was a surprise as on previous trips all were exemplary. I made one complaint about a shore excursion which was not as described and it took two days to resolve. The Shore Excursion staff were very defensive although they eventually gave us 20% off the cost of the tour (which was fair). As far as the excursions go they are very expensive and if we went again we would make our own arrangements at every port which may did with positive reviews. To sum up there is much evidence of cost cutting and aggressive revenue generation which for me diminished the vacation experience. Celebrity seems to have lost its sparkle and sadly that will be our last cruise with them. Read Less

What a disappointment! This was the first cruise we had been on and it has put us off cruising for life. Although the ship is due for a refit next year, we didn't really notice how tired it was. The cabin was fine, dining was great - great variety of food and plenty of it. Dining Room wine waiter refilled the glasses of the male guests - ladies had to ask for a refill? At some tables the bottle was left for the male diner... never at an all female table. It took a minimum of 20 minutes from ordering a drink to actually getting it? Staff on the whole (apart from the Guest Relations???) were friendly and helpful. Entertainment and Activities were dire! The theater hosted third rate entertainers and the activities consisted of throw the bean bag into a hole and ping pong? Evening activities seemed to be staff doing there utmost to sell you every type of watch from Rolex to Citizen, diamonds, designer clothes, jewelry, holidays.... they even had an art gallery with art auctions every day/evening? It must have been a contest to see who could con you out of the most money on your trip. Tours had been arranged in advance from Cruising Excursions and were excellent. India was a bit disappointing but could have spent more time in Muscat and Dubai. Embarkation and disembarkation was surprisingly easy in all ports. Read Less

Sorry as an extremely seasoned cruisers this was the first time sailing with Celebrity and we were very disappointed. The ship was definitely no 5* the cabin was shabby the bed covers needed updating it was shabby, the towels and flannels etc needed throwing out, the entertainment was not great and the service mediocre. Having said that our cabin steward and our waiters were satisfactory. Our over all impression of the company was that they have a policy of harassment towards their guests to get as much money out of you as they possibly can. We succumbed to buying a drink package on board but on days at sea there was hardly anywhere that you could get a drink before late afternoon. You basically had to be up on deck at the pool bar or the other option was the specialist coffee area where you could get very limited alcoholic drinks or fancy coffee. On sea days the coffee area was totally overwhelmed it was hopeless trying to find a seat or get a drink. Even until the last day of the cruise the pressure to buy another cruise or buy a dinner in one of the speciality restaurants it made us cringe with embarrassment. We have never experienced such relentless selling on any other cruise line and how they have a 5* status confounds us so we do not intend to back on a Celebrity Cruise again. Read Less

We went for this cruise for the itinerary. Had not sailed with Celebrity before but reviews were generally good. We were disappointed. Most cruise lines want to extract your cash but Celebrity take this to another level. Definitely not to the standard of Princess or Cunard. Their entertainment programme, especially for five consecutive sea days was very thin. Not everyone wants to lie on a sun bed all day. Their customer service is appalling; once we arrived in Abu Dhabi for a two day stop over diesel tankers directly below our stateroom were refuelling all night, both nights. When we complained we were told it was out of their hands although after much pressure from us they moved us on the second night. Never, ever again. There are much better cruise lines out there that won't cost you as much. Embarkation was a little chaotic but nothing to compare with disembarkation. We were off the ship by 7.15 am and directed to our coach transfer to the airport. We then sat there for 45 minutes while they decided who should be on the coach. Other people we knew on the same flight as us home didn't disembark until 8.15am. Dining in the restaurant offered limited choice and the presentation of menus was poor, with tired, tatty looking menus that looked as if they hadn't been changed for months. Service however was very good. Read Less

Let me start by saying the majority of the staff were great. I found some of the male help in the dining room did not give way to any females, even when they, the female, had the right of way. I found the decor of the ship drab and the floor plan very confusing. The organization of the ship/ships crew I found to be disorganized. Why, for the love of sanity, would a crew member to told to paint the cafe during breakfast and lunch? The fumes were horrible and very unappetizing. Why not do it at night when there would be less people there? The offering of entertainment/activities I found to be very limiting. Why are there always more offerings for activities that are trying to sell you something? More for their pocketbook, I know. The offerings for this cruise was very limited, compared to other cruise lines, in my experience. The food was the most distressing. My DH and I do not tolerate spices and almost every dish we had was unedible because of having too much spice. Even foods not expected to have spice, was spicy. My mouth was on fire the majority of the trip. The mineral bath was fantastic! And it was free! Other cruise lines charge for the use. The activity of Improvisation was the most fun we have had on a cruise line in a long, long time. It was just not long enough. Speaking of service, my DH has a problem with his arms and requires ice packs at night. The crew was most helpful in providing that in the middle of the night. They were great. Would I go again? Probably not on a Celebrity again. Read Less

Saw the cruise advertised in the newspaper and it looked very appealing. The cost was just over £5000 but as my wife and I were about to celebrate "special birthdays" and wedding anniversary we thought we would treat ourselves to a "special Holiday". We even upgraded to concierge class for that little bit of extra luxury and service. None of which did we get. Flew to Venice via the private terminal Stanstead. Very nice. On arrival in Venice the fast boarding we had paid extra for in "concierge" just didn't happen. We queued with everybody else. The ship itself turned out to be very disappointing . Very old and held together for the most part by paint. A lot of the internal furnishings had also seen better days. On Entering our cabin we were greeted with a torn valance around the bed, water marks on all the surfaces left by glasses and a large grease mark on the wardrobe door. All of which were still there when we left the ship 10 days later. The balcony had dirty screens and were covered with paint. Obviously the ships painters didn't use Specsavers as this was quite prominent all over the ship. Dining. On our previous cruises we have always had late dining sitting. On this ship, for reasons unknown to ourselves we were given "Select Dining". That in a nutshell is when you stand and wait outside the dining room until there is room for you to eat. Hurried through so as to make room for the people still waiting outside. Awful Entertainment was very good as was the places we visited on the cruise. Tipping. I always have a problem with this on cruises and on this ship I felt it really was in your face. I don't disagree with tipping in the long run but what these shipping lines seem to recommend is rather disgusting. If all the passengers were to abide to their tipping recommendations, this ship would have made just short of a million dollars. Ridiculous. I paid my own tips to the people that I had had dealings with and it obviously was not enough as they never spoke to me again. Disembarkation went very smoothly and to be frank, I was rather looking forward to getting Summary. I don't think that I shall be cruising for a long long time. Read Less

Chose this trip to take my family, wife, 2 married children and 2 grandchildren on a Med cruise in August The ship is very tired There were too many passengers 2560 compared to the advertised capacity and no extra staff. Consequently bar service slow, public areas not cleaned to a high enough stand. Open dining arrangements a nightmare and when we had to use a tender service about a 1.25 hour wait!! That said the grandchildren (10 & 14) had a fabulous time so therefore their parents could also enjoy their holiday. I had no expectations so in that respect I was not disappointed Fortunately, on day 2 we bumped into the captain and hotel manager who asked if everything was ok. After explaining the dining experience the hotel manager made a couple of calls and our situation was satisfactorily resolved. Also my daughter used to see him in the gym and he repeatedly asked if things were ok. We received a complimentary meal in one of the specialty restaurants Read Less

This was our third cruise with Celebrity. It was a disappointment at all levels . It was a big step down from our experience from two years ago with Celebrity Equinox. This was a Mediterranean cruise . It was no entertainment on deck in the evening. It was no fitness or other outdoor activities like the previous Celebrity cruise. It was a lack of service and amenities. It was also a big disappointment in food quality and diversity . Food that we enjoyed at the buffet in the past now we had to go to special restaurants and pay extra. My husband and I had classic beverage packege but to get your cappuccino you had to go to the 5 th floor from 10th floor in order to get it . It was no cappuccino machine at any outdoor bars and any other indoor bars except the 5 th floor. People who catered to us were great but not to many of them ... Many times I had to clean my table and waiters were no where to be found. Overall it was not a good experience Read Less

This was our thirteenth cruise and our first on Celebrity. We were expecting a step up from our other cruises which have been on Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Princess, but we were sadly and utterly disappointed! I am not sure what the problem was but it seemed that every crew member, apart from our room steward, did not want to be there. They were uncaring, disinterested and, quite frankly, just going thought the motions. Not once were we referred to by name or made to feel welcome. On other cruise lines when you have visited, say, a bar for a couple of days, the staff know your name and your favourite drink...not on this ship. We thought the food in the main restaurant was very average, as was our experience at the Tuscan Grille Italian restaurant on the first night. One highlight was our meal in QSine, which, to their credit, was probably the best meal we had ever eaten at sea. The service there was good too. The nightly shows were also disappointing with all but two being the on board crew performing various songs and dancing. They too, sadly, were below par. Very disappointing and we will not be rushing back to Celebrity when others make much more of an effort! Read Less

CELEBRITY CONSTELLATION – NOT A 5 STAR SHIP We have just returned from a 14n (back to back) cruise on the Celebrity Constellation. We have been great fans of the Celebrity product in the past and have been on Constellation before, but both the ship and some of the staff, are in need of a serious shake-up. Torn and tatty bed linen, bathrooms with rust and filthy, stained tiling, grey torn deck towels that you wouldn’t buy in a jumble sale and sun beds that are rusty and broken are just not acceptable. Very young children( 3,7,8yrs) in the whirlpool late at night, totally unsupervised. Staff knew of this and chose not to approach the parents. A lack of drinks service on some of the sun decks led to large queues at the bars and much frustration. The dress code, always a contentious issue, was constantly flouted. A bare chested man in swimming trunks being served at the Martini bar on a ‘chic night’ is just not acceptable when most people have gone to a lot of trouble to look smart. Swimwear and foul language in the ‘elite party’ is not what guests want, particularly when the guests were not in the elite club– neither occurrence was challenged by the staff. On chic night, we dined in one speciality restaurant, quisine. With the managers approval, one guest wore swimwear and a baseball cap! Celebrity want to attract repeat customers so the logic of offering virtually identical (not particularly good) entertainment on the two successive 7n cruises is a real let down. The shows, although of a good standard, are primarily aimed at the American audience. It would be great to see the Broadway show reintroduced as it appeals to all nationalities and all ages. Surely it should be possible to at least change the menu weekly in the San Marco dining room to accommodate back to back cruisers.A noisy cabin (a vibrating headboard from the engine noise) required us to sleep in an inside cabin for several nights. we were then disturbed by 30 luggage trolleys being very noisily moved for 2 hours in the middle of the night. Despite booking and paying for an outside cabin we were only given $100 obs in compensation. Nowhere near the real difference in the cost of cabins. This Level of compensation and falling standards in everyway has ensured that we have felt more like commodities than valued customers. We have cancelled other cruises booked for 2019 on Celebrity Constellation and will look to other lines for a 5 star product. Wake up Celebrity as other passengers will be voting with their feet too. The 3 lonely stars of this ship are Gabriella( housekeeping) Thomas and Marko( cellar masters) thank you guys for all you did to help make our holiday better than it would otherwise have been. I chose this specific cruise for the itinerary, and chose this line because I've cruised on Celebrity before and it was wonderful. There are similar cruises for much less, but I decided to go with Celebrity due to our previous experience. I do not drink alcohol and was forced to buy a "water" package, as the water in our room, and at the buffet was brown. The service was about the worst I've ever received anywhere and I'm including any travel any where in the world on land or sea. I had to get my bottled water at the bars-my average wait time was 15 minutes and this was even if there was only one person sitting at the bar. This was consistent, every time. This lack of service was the same for our traveling companions, one of which only drinks beer, not a mixed drink. How difficult is it to hand you a bottle of beer or water. And heaven forbid I ask for 2 bottles of water at the same time!!! The bartenders will not make eye contact (they appear to be trained to do this, since it is at every bar, unless you are very young and wearing a low cut dress or bikini) and the only way to get their attention is either by banging your hand on the bar or yelling, either of which is not my style. I'm a vegan, again chose this cruise because I was assured they could accommodate my diet. They did not. The Spa Cafe staff was incredibly rude, with the exception of my last day. Another complaint I have is that I paid for my water, I don't drink soda, and they charged me for a stinking smoothie. Over $6000 for the cruise, another $200 for WATER, and I had to pay for a smoothie. We had a massage at the spa which triggered my husband's sciatica which was fine and had been for the last 2 years. Next day he was taken by wheelchair to Medical for treatment (which was the only decent department on the cruise) as he could not stand. Spa denied any responsibility, they reimbursed his massage, but not his medical expenses. Again, poor customer service, why not go the extra mile instead of arguing with us? The internet service, for which I paid, was abysmal. We could not wait to get off this ship. We I came home there was article in Forbes that Celebrity is redoing this, among other ships. I will not be cruising with this line again. I've booked my next cruise on Uniworld. Due to either an excursion or my husband being in bed, (he also had GI problems from the food) we did not make our meal seating until the last day, and this was not well received. We were told to "go downstairs" where we were given a table by the entrance, again food bad (who burns gnocchi?) waiter clearly annoyed when we came in at 8pm. At the end of the substandard meal, I had to ask for coffee. My husband asked for decaf, which it clearly wasn't as he was up all night, and my green tea was black. The views were beautiful, although we did not see Montenegro, (husband's injury) but the ship terrible. Cruising is usually a great way to travel because the service is outstanding. Not on Celebrity. I will compare Celebrity to a recent similar itinerary on Oceania: 1) Guest trash left for hours on rooftop terrace and pool area. Never happened on Oceania 2) Staff service at pool and rooftop for drinks was almost non-existent on Celebrity 3) Oceania freely gave us good water during a hot cruise. Celebrity not only took away glasses at 3:00 for you to help yourself but nickled and dimed you to death over bottled water. Sent us out on a 9 hr excursion with no free water. 4) Bar staff outdoors was rude and if you didn’t care to buy an unlimited drink package handled your request and card uncarefully. Had to watch them like a hawk. Oceania staff manners and efficiency were outstanding 5) Oceania constantly had their handrails and public surfaces being disinfected and wiped. Only thing that I ever saw Celebrity do was to keep their deck surfaces wet at very inappropriate times 6) because ONE cabin underneath the table tennis room complained, they moved both tables out onto the pool area resulting in very loud noise and ping pong balls hitting you on your chaise lounge 7) Most importantly the buffet food and service was like a Denny’s only with less selection and it took pleading to have the staff bring me hot coffee instead of having to carry it dangerouslly through a crowd. All their chef inspired food had heavy Indian spices and curry in them or the bacon and eggs were either under or overcooked. Oceania’s buffet was 5-star and often offered shrimp and lobster on the buffet. In addition Oceania is a healthier ship as they do not allow guests to touch repeated utensils at the buffet. I chose this cruise because 'Celebrity Cruises' had been recommended to me by my parents who would have the same level of standards as myself. The price was inviting and some of the ports were in places I had yet to visit. I traveled with my boyfriend and my parents (my father is disabled and has to use a wheelchair) so cruises make sense as a holiday option. We stayed in Abu Dhabi for 4 days prior to the cruise and book-ended the trip with 3 nights in Rome. These two stays were what made the holiday in all honesty, and these were booked personally. Firstly the ship, the Constellation is an old tired ship that really needs some TLC. Yes it is spotlessly clean and the staff do their utmost to keep it so. The decks are well worn, the sunbeds were old and not very comfortable and the sun towels very faded and tatty. The Ocean View Cafe, the food was mediocre and the restaurant, again tired looking, broken ice machines, dripping coffee dispensers etc. The Poolside Cafe, burgers were good but unfortunately Alexander had a very displeasing temperament and everything was served begrudgingly. The San Marco restaurant was the only saving grace, Alistair and Jonny were great waiters and always wore a smile and a friendly greeting and the food was a much better standard than Ocean view. The entertainment was very poor, I had been told of 'West End' worthy entertainment in the evenings but not the 'one man shows' we were shown. Obviously the better shows are for the better ships. The movies that were shown on board were firstly not vetted by anyone and sometimes not appropriate for the few kids on board but also incredibly lacking in choice, the same movie was shown more than 9 times in one week. The one opportunity I had to watch a movie I wanted to see the sound was not working with the picture and no one did anything about it. The pool side band that played each day at about 3pm were dreadful, they played the same set each day bar one new song at the end and not only that but the lead singer could not sing, she proceeded to butcher well known songs for 15 days straight. The excursions, as my father was wheelchair bound most of the time off the ship we had to pick tours with minimal walking for him. In Jordan, myself and my mother went to Petra, a tour that started off ok, until we stopped in the middle of nowhere at a shop to use the 'toilets' but we wasted over 30 mins, then we had lunch at the Movenpick in Petra, food was fine but our guide did not have the courage to tell people to hurry up and finish up. We did not enter into Petra until after 3pm and were told to be back at the bus at 6. You travel all the distance to see one of the 'New 7 wonders of the world' only to get 3 hours to explore it. My father and my boyfriend embarked on the Aqaba tour and Wadi Rum which involved a drive through Aqaba where a fort, a beach and a street with hotels were pointed out and that concluded the tour. They were then driven to a 'Welcome center' where they all got off the bus to pick up a ticket and told to get back on the bus again immediately and then driven to a Bedouin tent and ignored for 3 hours. This tour was supposed to be an informative tour and the tent was supposed to have someone explain the Bedouin culture etc. a complete waste of money and time. Thankfully the remainder of the tours we had booked were just transport and we did our own sightseeing, unfortunately though, the times for collection were well ahead of the ship leaving port so we could have had more time in places. The 'boutiques' were overpriced and the 'sales' they held each day were not worth writing about. Just for example, one watch that my boyfriend was interested in was 'reduced' to $200 from $600 but is available online for £70.. hardly a saving. One final thing to add to my review was the Suez canal was not a 'feature' to add to the list, it's a canal full of flies with not much to see either side. The restaurants, bars and even the Solarium lacking in electric fly catchers were filled with flies which were crawling all over the food for 3 days. Although I do wish to cruise again, I will not travel on this ship, but one of the ships my parents actually traveled on as the standards seem much higher. Read Less

We did this cruise because of the ports .. great ports .. but as soon as you go on board you are offered a glass of champagne but while you may be drinking your champagne you are hounded to buy packages .... drink packages .... specialty dining packages .... I did not buy packages because they were very over priced we did go to 2 dining rooms and value for money they were very overpriced .... example glass of red wine was no more than 2cm of red wine in a water glass cost $10.00 .... but the worst is yet to come .... we did 2 cruises .... back to back .... Singapore to Abu Dhabi and then Abu Dhabi to Rome .... the last show in the theatre on the first part of the cruise was the first show in the theatre on the second part of the cruise .... this we believe was all about saving money on entertainment .... and there is lots more .... the buffet on the second part of the cruise where we had 5 days at sea ran out of tomatoes .... banana,s .... and later in the cruise potatoes .... this made the salads look very bleak .... But the worst experience was there safety drill ... there a lot of elderly passengers on cruises and you are asked to go into dining area,s for a period of 40-45 minutes where more than half the passengers are asked to stand .... I am 73 years old and I cannot stand for 45 minutes so I sat on the stairs outside the dining room I was asked to go in the room and I refused on the second leg of the cruise I learnt against the wall at the opening on the other side was a gentleman with a walking stick and he was very distressed I asked one of the staff if they could get him a chair and I was completely ignored .... there facility for safety drill is a shameless and very very unprofessional .... I and many other passengers believe that are putting profits ahead of the comfort and safety of passengers The above points I discussed with customer relations manager Keith Wheelan Read Less

Reception and processing relatively smooth. We had and inside cabin which was clean and reasonably well maintained. Our steward was friendly and accommodating. We were on the 9th deck and the cabin was noisy in the mornings from the pool machinery starting up. We headed to a bar for sail-away only to be hounded by staff selling drinks packages. We are all moderate drinkers and it was disappointing to be constantly asked by staff why we did not have a package. For us it was just not cost effective. Why no sail-away parties? This should always be a highlight - a celebration of the departure & getting underway but they were just weren't any, not what we were expecting. She just slipped her lines and left. So boring. Suitcases were delivered promptly and we headed down for dinner. The staff in the San Marco restaurant seemed to be just trying too hard. I don't need my bread & dips to be introduced with a fanfare every night. As for the food, the quality was reasonable but the quantities supplied were so small. No wonder they made such a fuss about the bread. Take one example - my wife ordered scallops for a starter. What arrived, beautifully presented, was one, single, solitary scallop, sliced into four pieces. I didn't know it was possible to cut a scallop that small. The supposed signature dish of baked Alaska was simply an somewhat passé arctic roll with three flavours of ice cream topped with a dollop of meringue. Come on - I could do better than that. The ocean-view cafe reached another level of deficiency. The food here completely lacked any imagination or variety. The same choices were rolled out day after day. On a ship, one would expect to see a good variety of fish and seafood. Of the latter there was none and the fish served tended to be dry and unappetising. My wife, a fish and seafood lover, lost weight on this cruise due to the paucity of choice. On a brighter note, the Tuscan Grille was much closer to what we were expecting but why should we have to pay a premium for what should be common quality throughout the ship. The staff there were excellent. For daytime activities, not being a sun lover, I tended to stay inside, mostly reading in the reflections lounge. There was generally a wide variety of background music played but I was appalled to hear one modern song featuring the f-word when there was a likelihood of young children being present. The same happened when I was taking photos next to the cinema in the afternoon. It's just not on. I attended a couple of the lectures, one by the captain on navigation and the other on Islam. Both were good. The captain was very witty and entertaining. The two dance bands were very good and the 'bandaoke' events were great to watch. The orchestra were excellent - clearly very talented musicians. What let the ship down was a glaring gap in the evening scheduling between 8.30 & 9.45 where nothing much was occurring except a show. The main reason we chose this cruise was for the itinerary and we enjoyed visiting all of the ports. We prefer doing our own thing so didn't participate in any of the Celebrity excursions observing that, in common with all cruise companies, there was a significant mark up in their prices. I feel that one of Celebrity's main weaknesses is in communication. When we booked our cruise it had an additional port of New Mangalore included making 4 ports in India. We then received a communique informing us that this port had been dropped from the itinerary, the only reason given was to 'enhance your cruise experience.' This was not expanded upon leaving us unsatisfied. We now understand that this particular port was generating a lot of negative feedback from previous guests so Celebrity's decision is understandable. Why then could they not have told us the truth. I don't like feeling like a mushroom! The quality and availability of the port guides was also very poor. On other ships these have been of a much higher standard and delivered to your cabin rather than having to go to the purser's desk and request them. On other ships in my experience, internet access has been available on a timed basis where a quantity of time is purchased allowing guests to log on and off preserving the remaining time for the next visit. Not so for Celebrity where the options were to pay by the hour, day or full cruise but the rates were way too expensive. I'm afraid I was not prepared to pay $315 for the cruise access 'deal' and that, together with the poor port guides left us sometimes poorly equipped for visiting some of the ports. We just didn't feel that we were being supported enough. I also feel that the gratuity rate of 18% is somewhat high, compared to the 15% on Cunard, Princess and other Carnival lines. We prefer to tip ourselves and usually have the automatic daily gratuity removed from the outset. I could hardly contain my anger when, at the end of the cruise, I found a set of envelopes with suggested tipping amounts left on our bed. I feel quite strongly that we should not be subsidising the crew's wages but are happy to reward good service. Cruise companies as a whole should pay their staff what they believe they are worth and this should be reflected in the price of the cruise. One of the best things we did find was that the kids club activities for our 9 year old granddaughter were excellent. She thoroughly enjoyed herself and was well looked after. So in summary, whilst the itinerary was good, we left the ship feeling disappointed that the cruise was not all it could have been. We paid a lot of money for 5 people and feel that the money could have been better spent elsewhere. It was our first time with Celebrity and sadly, it will also be our last. Read Less

just got back from 15 night best of india and sri lanka 10/o4 /18 in aqua class cabin 9061 .cabin ok but a little tired staff work hard to keep a good standard but sheets towels and carpets all need to be replaced I also had a chat with two ladies that were on deck 6 that were complaining of bed bugs in their cabin.the food in blu was very good and the staff were wonderful which is more than can be said for the oceanview café .I,m a early starter so I,m one of the first in for breakfast and everything was always cold except for the toast which was just warmed up bread if you asked for it to be done a bit more you got a look as if you were mad .at lunch if you wanted anything other than Asian dishes the choice was very poor. on one day there was fish and chips which looked very nice but the fish was so hard that you could not cut into it and the chips well its the first time I,ve had chips that were brunt on the outside and still frozen on the inside. the shore excursions got off to a bad start with the one I was looking forward to most cancelled before I left with hindsight I wish they had all been cancelled as they were all poor value except for the walking tour in sri lanka which was very good ,the sightseeing and shopping in Phuket was disgraeceful late starting no stops for food or drinks at the last stop at a shopping mall at 6pm we were told it would be 1 1/2 hr stop most people wanted to return to the ship but were told if you did you would have to make your own way back to the ship a 10 minute walk which turned out to be a 25 minute taxi ride I complained when back on the ship and was told it was the first time this trip had been run I hope it was the last Read Less

i chose this cruise so i could see some of southeast asia. however the ports were 1.5 - 2.5 hours away from the city we were suppossed to be visiting. for example for a 4 hour excursion to bangkok you spent 5 hours in a bus. 2.5 hours there & another 2.5 hours back to the ship the windows in the reflections lounge- site of the captains club nightly free cocktails- were so dirty you couldn't see out of them . same thing in the oceanview cafe. this was not a one cruise thing. we were back to back on this ship & they didn't get better after a port stop. the blinds in the tuscan grill needed dusting they appear to have sold so many drink packages that serving you a drink in the public lounges or on deck is no longer a priority. you have to go to the bar to get a drink & there you are one of many waving your sea pass card at the bartender. my husband pointed this out to one of the senior officers & she said" oh they will all get served". maybe but certainly not in a timely or even friendly manner. walking down the hallways or into the san marco dining room you would sink down few inches. seemed as if the carpeting was the only thing holding up the floor. i don't know if it is the ship culture, the management or if celebrity itself has taken a nose dive but i will not take this ship again had this been my first celebrity cruise it would have been my last Read Less

We did a back to back, the first is the 14 night Vietnam and after the 15 night India. The first cruise was not so good and definitely not the Celebrity standard. It was not well maintained, very dirty when we got onboard the first day. It did improve over the course of the cruise. The furniture for the sunset deck was sticky and just felt dirty all the time. The rest was adequate though, the dining room was ok, not grand though. We never had a problem getting a table for 2. The room, oceanview, was fine, comfy bed. The food was quite a disappointment. Even for the specialty restaurants which were actually quite expensive, was very amateur. The steakhouse was awful. I ordered tomato mozzarella entree and it was super cold, the huge tomato was all mushy simply because it had been frozen. I asked for the maitre-d and he didn't know that it needs to be served fresh... Tried the fancier Q-Sine, all show no content. Looks good, you see that they try at least to make something special but all the dishes didn't pass the bar. Very disappointing. The only decent restaurant was the sushi place. Other minor disappointments, the outside movie, had only a very late showing, nothing at 8pm. No game room, nothing. Best part was the personel as usual on these ships. Read Less

The Celebrity Constellation cruise through Asia on January 29, 2018 (stateroom 9107?) was very disappointing. There were sales pitches from day one. People were expected to buy a drink package, a spa treatment, a la carte meals, your socks washed for $3, Internet for $299, overpriced tours 3 hours away. Since I paid double fare, you would think I'd be given extra perks. I was alone. Anytime a singles get together was planned, singles would arrive at the location and nothing was happening. The main buffet was the same thing day after day. Being Celiac, my choices were limited. Can you imagine being made a Gluten free pizza of a crepe (I think) spread with tiny bit of tomato paste, a few slices of pepperoni and very little cheese. That is not pizza. The things I liked were the nightly live shows, San Marco's restaurant and the clean rooms. I can get all that right at home..Celebrity offered me $100 to use on my next cruise. Yah! Why would I go on another cruise? This is not good customer service. Read Less

We choose this cruise ship because of the itinerary and was at the time of year that we wanted. We had never travelled with Celebrity and thought we would give it a try. The menu was average. The ship had the "cave" feeling. Dark and old. The specialty restaurants were average and not worth the money. There was NEVER a complete meal that went without "something" wrong. I don't like being rushed out of the buffet area because it is getting late. We were on a tour provided by the ship and arrived back almost 2 hours late and had to eat in the upstairs buffet area. They were closing down and the menu became more limited by the minute with the staff closing areas continually. AND the buffet area made us stand till 12 Noon to eat, even though the food was out. What are we in school??? And hot food sitting becomes gloopy! The menu did not change enough for a 15 day cruise. More or less the same every day in the dining room, the buffet had themes, but still felt the same. The staff was very good and did the best they could with what they had. The original price was very attractive but at the end of the cruise, between the beverage package, the tours, the specialty restaurants, it would have been better to go on a cruise with a higher starting price that included much more and not be nickeled & dimed. One of the staff made a "funny" about if they could figure out how to charge for tender transfers, they would! I think that says it all. The Constellation considers itself as a 4+*, my take is barely a 3+. AND no laundry facility! With a ship this large they couldn't provide a laundry facility per floor or every 2 floors to provide guests the opportunity to do laundry, especially on a 15 day tour. And to have anything done by the ship, I might as well buy new clothes, TOO EXPENSIVE. I didn't like the "class" structure where "economy" sat one place, Aqua sat some place else and then there was another class. No thanks! And 7 sea days - we are port people. They took one of the stops of the selection, after we paid, and did not reimburse in any manner, be it a free drink or a t-shirt, something. The original cruise had 6 sea days, which I was leery about, then after paying, they take off a stop making it 7 days at sea! AND to charge $400 U.S. for Internet - just a money grab. Read Less

Just returned from Abu Dhabi to Singapore via India. Where do I begin. Firstly with the good. Food in the main dining was good and varied and our waiters were good. The guest speakers -two were excellent and the third should have been left in Abu Dhabi. Ednalyn who was our concierge was brilliant such a lovely cheery soul who could not do enough for you. Now the not so good:- 1. Ship very titled ans shabby despite being in dry dock last year. 2. Service in the bars so slow that you would have been quicker serving yourself. 3.the air conditioning not working properly and leaving everyone with colds coughs etc. 4. Most of crew although visible not in the least friendly-mind you when you see the Captain standing on the gangway scowling at the passengers and not acknowledging them when being spoken to-what else do you expect. Will I sail on this ship, again not if I can help it. Will I sail with Celebrity again Yes Read Less

Chosen for winter sun. Ports uninspiring. Indian visas were a complete, and very expensive, debacle that Celebrity needs to get a grip on - their advice differed from person to person. Unusually, some of the crew were indifferent, at best, and plain rude at worst. Most crew were great but there were more than a few dissenters. 8th cruise with Celebrity and will definitely not be on a Millennium class ship again - our 3rd time on one and they are all very tired and getting shabby. Not Celebrity's finest cruise offering. Tuscan Grill was excellent every time (esp the serving staff and the Somelier). Qsine was good once and terrible twice. Getting a sunbed around the pool was a daily disaster - staff did nothing about beds being 'booked by towel' and when some people 'booked' 2 beds each. When challenged the guilty passengers merely shouted at anyone who dared touch their towel/magazine....never seen this on a Celebrity boat before. Usually the pool crew apply a strict 'use it or lose it' policy on sunbeds. Some people rose at 5am to book beds! The whole itinerary for this cruise needs review and the ship needs replaced or properly updated. Read Less

The itinerary was appealing and the dates fine (we travel every year on the first or second of January for two weeks). We enjoyed all the ports of call, particularly Abu Dhabi and also enjoyed 3 sea days on the way to India and the 2 coming back to Dubai. This is the 12th Cruise we have been on since I retired four years ago and we rate it as second-worst. Poor service, poor entertainment, poor food, poor attitude by most of the staff, poor cleaning in public areas (particularly the open decks, restaurants, theatre etc). Now - my main complaint - I received a letter dated 24th October 2017 from Celebrity stating that we MUST obtain a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa for India before travelling and that we would be denied boarding if we didn’t get one (each). It also stated that an Indian E-Visa would not be accepted as it could not be processed by the Indian Authorities on board. Both Celebrity and our booking agent Cruise.co.uk recommended Visa Central as the best way to get our Mutiple Entry Tourist Visa’s. We applied straight away and got them in early November. Visa Central’s bill £491.38! (Plus £20 for very specific sized photos we sent to them). When on board, we soon spoke to people who had no problem boarding with e-visas (about £60 each they told us) and some with no visas at all! All of these people had no problem with the Indian authorities on board and none were denied entry to India (apparently they all had a special meeting with the authorities after all of us who had full visas had been rubber-stamped for entry). We were also told that those with no visa at all were told by Celebrity that if they booked a Shore Excursion through them that they would ‘sort their visas out for them with no problem’. Clearly we, and many others we spoke to who had paid a similar amount for full visas are justifiably annoyed and feel ‘caught’ by Celebrity. Before writing this review I called Celebrity to give them a chance of refunding me for their mis-information. They said no, didn’t deny that others had complained too but that won’t be refunding anyone. I said I would go public if they didn’t refund me so here it is! Celebrity - you had your chance.
