We chose the Constellation over the Millennium primarily because it garnered better reviews and had Ocean Liners intact. Both sailed out of Singapore, which would have saved us air tickets and time travelling to port. We were initially slightly apprehensive about sailing our longest ever voyage on one of the oldest and smallest ships we have done. These fears were unfounded. The crew was excellent and their enthusiasm, sincerity and professionalism stood out. Our cabin (a Penthouse) was huge, with more than enough room and we were truly pampered onboard. Our cabin steward and butler were both very helpful and full of initiative, meeting our needs even before we realised we had them! Entertainment was of a consistently high standard, with the exception of the Broadway revue, which needed more rehearsal time. Food was hit and miss but the service standards of the crew in Luminae could not be faulted. Our experiences in Ocean Liners (thrice) and Tuscan Grille (once, at lunch on a sea day) were both very good. OL food was hit and miss but service was excellent; Tuscan had both very good food and service and we regretted not booking for dinner. Specialty dining was complimentary for our suite but we were travelling in a big group and therefore could not utilise the perk as often as we would have liked. Sushi on 5 had great rolls but sashimi was mediocre. Service by Zeus was outstanding as usual. We did not expect our child to enjoy the Kids' club but she did. More so than on a typical RCL cruise, which was surprising. We also enjoyed the activities organised by the crew - the watercolour lessons, the dance lessons, the gym lessons, the trivia sessions and the table-tennis rounds. It was a cruise that was as active as you wanted to make of it. Everything was done in good taste without intruding into the relaxing vibe of the overall cruise. Would we go again? In a heartbeat. We would prefer if Celebrity had shorter cruises around the region though - it is very difficult to get leave from work in the beginning of the work year for such a long period of time. If they had 7-10 day cruises around the region, we would be back multiple times. As it is, we are next booked on a 10-day European cruise in June and a 10-day New Zealand cruise in December, both of which happen in periods of time where it is easier to get vacation time. First time I have visited these Countries. Excursions were well organised and very interesting. The friendly and politeness we received from all the staff was outstanding. The food choice in the main eating area was excellent albeit at times it was difficult to get a seat. The restaurant menus offered a great selection which was beautifully presented. Entertainment was very much to our liking in particular the Irish lad and his fiancé, we listened to them at some point every day on-board. Whilst respecting the Captains' decision not to go ashore at Borocay the call of a day at the beach left us a little disappointed, but even the Captain can't control the weather. A thoroughly most enjoyable experience with plenty of happy memories. So much so, we have booked another cruise next year to the Med on the same boat. Hopefully we will meet some of your excellent staff again. Would definitely recommend Celebrity to friends. Read Less

As most Constellation cruisers knew, the Ship was heading to Barcelona for refit and refurbishment (Solsticizing) in May, 2017. That being said there was no evidence of significant crew painting since in just a few months it would probably have a needed major sandblasting and rust removal. This did not affect the itinerary and all ports of call that we visited were unique. India was truly amazing and it was like stepping back into the third world, but we just had to see the Country. We were not disappointed! The furniture in the public areas need an overhaul as they have exceeded their useful life. We had no complaints about the cabin as it was always kept clean. The bathroom and shower definitely showed its age and previous hard use. The meals onboard were good, except we do miss the free sushi bar in the Oceanview cafe. Celebrity has made the fleet-wide decision to charge for the sushi on Deck #5 Read Less

We went with our son and daughterinlaw who have been on 5 other Celebrity cruises and this was our second one My wife had an aacident 2 days before we were due to sail, which ment she was in a wheel chair on the cruise. This was not a problem any on off the ship, All staff went out off their way to assist, without having to ask. When we were either getting on of the ship, staff always insisted they push the wheelchair. We could have not asked for anything more We dined at table 159 every night the waiters were fantastic, using the wheel chair didn't cause a problem. They were so good to us helping my wife to get out / in the wheelchair and placing the chair in a safe place. Their recommendations of the meals was excellent choice Staff in the ladies toilets were excellent helping my wife in the toilets, there was only one problem that if a member of staff was not present then I had to push my wife into the toilet (not very nice for me pushing my wife into the ladies toilet) Please consider making disabled only toilets available throughout all your ships This was our second cruise and once again the ship was spotless never any rubbish could. Been anywhere, not even a spot of dust or any finger prints could be seen. Staff were always about their cleaning duties. Safety drills were taking place when we were in Port Generally speaking what fantastic company Celebrity Cruises are to keep such a high standard on the 2ships We have been on, look forward to our next cruisein 2018 Read Less

Celebrity Constellation 9 night Arabian cruise Embarkation was a breeze-just 10 mins. Then we were welcomed onboard with champagne on a red carpet. We felt we were treated like royalty!. Our oceanview room was quiet, comfy & spacious, but the bath cubicle was miniscule. On the first day, they had liquer sampling the entire evening, right from 5pm to 9pm. You could sample all liquers on display. Their special discount offers on alcohol were much better than those at duty free airports. They also had a wristwatch & handbag sale (really cheap, only $40 for 5, mix & match) Every morning, on the way to the buffet breakfast, there were pretty girls waiting to give you a FREE sampler head massage. Yes, every morning! On 9 days, we had 4 grand shows, a movie night, a Beatles tribute band, a singer (Jane), a violinist & a pianist, all best of class! So, every night was taken care of. The 4 shows--Welcome, Land of Fantasy (or fairy tales), Dances of the World & Elyria were 45-50 mins each & truly amazing, easily of Broadway standard. The performers also mingled, posed & danced with us throughout the 9 day cruise. They also performed on the pool deck & in the Reflections lounge, in addition to the 4 main shows. One evening, Celebrity even had a special BELLY DANCE show with Middle east delicacy starters & desserts--kababs, Baklava, the works! The passenger vs crew (in full uniform) pool volleyball game was a blast! Unfortunately, nobody showed up or seemed interested in the enrichment health & fitness lectures & we 2 were the only ones who attended every time. The fitness trainers who spoke on health & detoxification, were both experienced & knowledgeable. The buffet lunch had a lot of variety & was very satisfying. There were 6 diff. flavours of icecream & frozen yoghurt, which kept changing daily! Exotic flavors like cherry, pecan, peach, apricot, passion fruit, dark chocolate, banana, strawberry, etc In the main dining room, the dinner & service was fit for a king. Lobster, jumbo prawns, pink salmon, beef steak, tenderloin, et all. Very satisfying, never had any complaint whatsoever. The desserts were so-so. The cruise itinerary was well planned, with 8 port days--2 Abu Dhabi, 3 Dubai, 2 Muscat & 1 Khasab, so enough time for sightseeing at all ports, (except Dubai, which needs at least 7 days to see it all-- Dubai city tour with abra ride, Bastakiya, Al Fahidi fort, Gold souk, Spice souk, Perfume souk; Desert safari, Dubai mall with aquarium & musical fountain show, Burj Khalifa tallest observatory, Mall of the Emirates & Snow city, Global Village, Atlantis the palm, Jumeirah mosque & beach, Burj al Arab, Madinat Jumeirah, Miracle Gardens, Butterfly park, Dinosaur land, Glow City, etc.) Overall I highly recommend this cruise. We got an amazing deal, just $451 per person for 9 nights in an oceanview cabin with $150 onboard credit per person ($300 onboard credit per cabin) !!! Love & God bless, drsel Read Less

the constellation is a "human size" ship, few years ago it would have been a large ship, today we can say medium with BTW a nice ratio of crew/passengers. we selected this cruise cuz the price which was unbelievable price we couldn't refuse and also because the ports. DINING : We choose 'our time" dining, some nights we made reservation which are available only for dining between 6:00 and 7:00pm later you need to wait in line, they handle a "remote buzzer" that will inform you when your table is available. We liked very much the food, and we got the same waiter few nights so we had more than an excellent service, and the sommelier couldn't be better. In fact we felt everyone was doing that extra mile to make our meal an excellent experience. after one night the waiter knew our preferences and always went ahead of us, i.e. he notices we liked very much fish and seafood, so he would add an extra seafood item in the appetizers (6 shrimps instead of the 3 usual ones) the sommelier noticed we preferred red wine, he would always come with a selection of 3 bottles of red wine, after a few nights the selection was more precise to our taste. I liked to have a cocktail ... the barman when he used to see me would bring it to the table automatically with a personal welcome ( he would remember my name). Small things that enhance the pleasure of cruising. Oceanview cafe : nothing to say employees are very friendly, waiters would bring our speciality cafe as they see us .... for lunch the selection increases after noon. one comment I read (previous critics) and dont agree ... I am glad there s no tray, so much food waste with one plate imagine with a tray .... About taxi in UAE : prices will vary depending on the size of the car (the cheaper are the "Toyota Camry type" beige with a colored top, and the place you hop on for example starts 20 Dirham at airport and cruise terminal - 3,50 downtown .... and depending on the time of the day .. In Dubai to get to the closest metro station is about 35 AED, the metro day pass is 22 AED. Taxi are efficient and not very expensive depending how smart you use it. abu dhabi : very large port cannot walk out, free shuttle takes you to the WTC shopping mall. if you go to the mosque dont dress "as required" they will lend you what necessary and makes great pictures for souvenir. The mosque is a must see. taxi airport to ship will cost you about 90 Dirham (40 min) Dubai : very large commercial port no shuttle. You either have to take a taxi or HOHO bus (very expensive) Must see, for shoppers, is the Emirates mall (interior ski slope), the Dubai mall (very large aquarium, skating rink and the waterfalls) and also connects to the Burj Khalifa. I think Going to the 148th floor is a thrill of a lifetime .. at least for me ... have to admit, its unique. Muscate : the section near the port is the most interesting part (old souk which is close between 1:00 and 4:00 pm), I duo not recommend to walk to the town 5 KM has many Gov. buildings and schools , no commercial activity (practically no cafe no stores) and you meet nobody in the streets. We booked this cruise very late and got an amazing last minute deal . We had been on the Connie only 2 cruises (see other review) prior to this one and had a great time. This was a different cruise in that it was a re-positioning cruise and so was primarily sea days (5 in a row at one point) whereas on our other cruise we had 6 port days in a row. The main thing that did not change was the service, it would be understandable after so many sea days for the wait and bar staff to be exhausted but their service levels never wavered. So impressive. Embarkation was quick and we quickly settled by the pool and had a great day waiting for the late departure. The ship is definitely older than the 2 others ships we have taken (Equinox and HAL Koningsdam) but it is still in reasonably good shape. The outside windows were very dirty on both cruises but all other areas were clean. We feel that there is much more space on this ship relative to the others we have sailed except in the MDR which feels incredibly packed. We had an OV cabin (3017), this was our first non verandah cabin. I prefer having a verandah but did not miss it as much as I though we would, we were rarely in our cabin. The strange thing was we only had a single doona placed sideways in the cover which we didn't notice until we went to bed very late on first night. We told the attendant the next day and he said" I noticed that but wasn't sure why" ... why not just replace it????This cabin did feel more worn than our previous one on deck 7 and the exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work and the a/c did not seem as efficient. Our attendant also was not as good, regularly left pillows on the floor, dirty rags in the cabin and forgot to restock toiletries. Overall it felt like you were treated worse on level 3 than 7. Noise was not a problem even though our door faced the lift well. Dining - on this cruise we bought the 3 restaurant specialty dining package. There is no doubt the food is of a better quality than that served in the MDR. The prices for the restaurants are very high but there was no limit on how much you could order. Tuscan grill had great quality produce but we did not care for the sauces they felt sweet relative to real Italian cuisine. The layout of the restaurant makes it feel cramped compared to on Equinox. Service was good. Oceanliners - much better sauces. Loved the dining space, very nautical and very spacious. Service was friendly but not polished for what they are trying to portray. Good overall experience. Sushi 5 - on the package you could order as you like which made it very good value as normally a la carte pricing. We ate more than 3 times what would have been provided under the package price. Good food but lack of hot asian dishes. Restaurant was virtually empty. MDR - the 2 tops are too close together and may as well be shared 4's. Can make it a little uncomfortable if you want a private evening. Eventually the maitre d fixed this and gave us a 4 seater just for the 2 of us - made it much more relaxing. Our sommelier was superb. Our waiters were busy but very good. As on the last cruise the food improved the longer the cruise went. Buffet - easy to find tables compared to other ships. Good range of food but quality is a bit basic. Entertainment - superb. The productions shows were the same but the performance level had improved even more. All the guest entertainers were superb and very varied (most passengers and us included did not quite understand what the Chili Gold show was supposed to be - but the only disappointment). Plus they often did matinee performances. The lounge acts were also good. There was so much in the way of activities - dance classes; colouring classes; at least 3 lectures; more trivia than you could fit in etc. Our only wish is that the lectures had been more staggered as we are late risers on cruises. They really increased the amount of activities in accordance with the amount of sea days - there was no way you could be bored. I would like to see a few more complimentary gym classes though. Oh and there were several dance parties and silent disco as well ... we partied ourselves to a standstill. Service - first class. Again easily the best we have experienced on a cruise ship. The bar staff in particular the waiters at the bars are first rate - serious kudos. Guest relations were friendlier than we normally find them and were quick to get back to us. The only issue I have with the service was that our big issue from the last cruise was not addressed by head office before we departed for this cruise yet they acknowledged we were cruising again so I thought I might have heard from someone onboard given we had returned to the same ship and head office knew we were but no one addressed it or us ... strange. The few ports there were were very good. Chania is very cute; Petra is outstanding; Muscat interesting except that it was a Friday and Abu Dhabi is ok. However there was ZERO information about these later ports, I know the ship hasn't sailed there before but surely the company has done some research on this??? Disembarkation was easy but we were the last off the ship. In summary - this was a really fun and relaxing cruise with great activities and service. The cabin was average and some of the food could be better but at the price we paid we have to give it a 5 star rating. Read Less

My wife and I were hesitant to go on a cruise given that I have bad motion sickness and we've read all the reviews on how cruise ships are not fun for young adults. I was completely wrong - Celebrity Constellation was fantastic in every aspect. There was not one thing that I would have wanted them to improve on except the gym (please add more free weights and a squat rack). Our cruise director, Rich, was fantastic as well. The entire crew, whether it be in the dining room, various bars or even at the pool went above and beyond to make us feel completely at ease. The food was great, our room was clean, the shows were decent, the games were fun. Would 100% definitely do again. Our cruise ship went from Rome to Israel to Turkey to Athens. We did only one shore excursion with the ship - all others we did on our own. Read Less

We chose this cruise specifically to spend 3 full days exploring Israel and the disembarking in Istanbul where we intended to stay for a few extra nights. Booking with Choice Air was ideal since when they cancelled Istanbul, they rebooked our flights from Athens without any fuss or extra charge. The food was fine, and plentiful, and our cabin was immaculate. The fruit was deliciously fresh! All employees were anxious to help besides friendly. The one complaint about this ship compared to other Celebrity cruises may sound silly. The tv only played the same episode of Top Chef, the same 3 movies or CNN or Fox! There was no on board theater and I missed that since after touring for so long, I needed a movie to relax before touring the next day. Other than that, this cruise was perfect and stress free. We only took one ship's shore excursion in Chania, Crete. What bothers me is that you are stuck on a bus with 45 other adults who take more time going to the restroom and shopping for souvenirs that actually listening to the tour guide. I want to recommend Hellenicprivatetours.com who promptly picked up our group at the dock in a large Mercedes mini bus. Took us on a guided tour of Athens and Cape Sounion with an intelligent and charming professional guide and then dropped us off at our airport hotel. They made us feel secure and anxious to return to Greece. Read Less

We chose this cruise as it went to Israel for three days as this was a location we wanted to visit. However all the ports we visited were great and really made the cruise special. The Constellation is a fine ship and has the amenities one should expect on a ship this size. The staff were very attentive to our needs and provided excellent service. Hats off to our steward, bartenders/servers, and our waiters. Our veranda cabin was clean, but slightly worn. The ship could use some updating as our couch/rug was worn and the shower had they mold issue on the corners. Not a biggie but we have had newer accommodations to compare against. The entertainment on board was varied and excellent and the cruise director was top notch. We booked our own shore excursions and each one was stellar and priced better than the cruise and limited in size. If you want to get better value and have a small personal group to tour with this is the way to go. We never had any issues getting back to the ship in time. However when in Israel on your first disembarkation plan for 40 minutes to get through security. We had a great time that was augmented by fantastic weather. Read Less

I chose this cruise because of the itinerary and enjoyed all of it. I was a solo female and loved having a cabin to myself. The food was good and my cabin was kept clean and tidy. I used room service several times after a day of long tours. I enjoyed getting up early and getting coffee and watching the sun rise. The ship was quiet and beautiful in the early morning. The tours offered by Celebrity were nice but I also booked tours through another tour company and went ashore to ports that were close to the ship. Each decision I made turned out great! The variety of choices was why I booked this cruise. I got to know a lot of nice people on my tours which made me feel comfortable. I stayed on 4 extra days in Rome and toured the Vatican, took a day trip to Tuscany, did some wine tasting and did a segway tour of Rome. ALL EXCELLENT! Read Less

My wife and I are in our mid-40's and this was our fifth cruise (2 in Caribbean and 3 in Mediterranean). We have sailed with Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, and Norwegian. Included in our package was the Classic Beverage Pkg (I upgraded my wife to the Premium Pkg) and gratuities. I personally liked the layout of the ship. You could walk through all the decks to get to your destination and the restaurants and lounges were well located. The Constellation was clean, and the crew seemed to ensure all the common areas were kept tidy and spotless. We had a balcony cabin on the 8th deck midship. The bathroom was fairly "large" for a cruise ship and located on the right as you entered the room. The bed was in the middle of the room, and a desk and couch was infront of the balcony. There was plenty of space for my wife and I, and the luggage fit perfectly under the bed. I thought the dining was fabulous. We had the buffet breakfast at the Oceanview Cafe every morning and were not disappointed. The smoked salmon and endless bacon were my favourites! We ate in the main dining room (MDR) and the food and service was impressive. We did not have a bad meal (and we would often order two appetizers or mains....). The entertainment on the cruise ship was the only negative for us. The entertainment director (Rich) was energetic and hilarious, but besides him, the nightly programs were well below other cruise ships that we have sailed on. The dance productions were ok, but became boring and repetitive during the week. I felt that the acts that Celebrity had in the theatre would only be lounge acts on other ships. Their lounge acts (Groovity, Good Wine etc) need improvements. The service on the ship was amazing. The servers in the bars, restaurants and others areas were always smiling and treated us like gold. One of the best service experiences that we have ever had. The ports and excursions on the cruise were fantastic. A short list of the activities that we did (all booked on our own is below): Ephesus - we had been to the Terrace Houses previously, therefore we simply spent hours shopping for turkish lamps etc. It likely would have been cheaper for me to go to the terrace houses again....but we did get some great souvenirs! Rhodes - walked around the town. Fabulous and easy port. Cyprus - toured ancient ruins. Was a great way to see the southern part of the island. Israel - spent three days touring (Nazareth and Sea of Galilee, Jerusalem and Bethlehem, Massada and Dead Sea). I could have done without Sea of Galilee, but the rest of the tours were amazing1 Malta - walked around the town on our own. Great easy port to sight see on your own. There were only a few kids on the cruise which was great for us (we travelled with two other adults) as the pools and hot tubs were not inundated with them. I would definitely sail with Celebrity again in the future. From the food, to the service and the ports - things could not have been better. A few tips - laundry was expensive. There was a "special" during the cruise in which you could put in a bag of laundry for $50 US....crazy if you ask me. We normally bring a travel iron with us (yes I know - they are "illegal") but we did not on this cruise and regretted it as they would not provide us with an iron as they wanted us to put in the shirts for ironing for an unbelievable (high) price. Hope this helped! Read Less

One of the drivers for picking this cruise was because it originally started in Istanbul, a city we have waited years to visit. Sadly, due to it being deemed unsafe, our embarkation was moved to Athens. It's quite some years since we'd been there, so whilst not what we hoped for, we nevertheless enjoyed a couple of days there pre-cruise. This was our 2nd cruise on Constellation this year and our 5th with Celebrity. It never ceases to amaze me when I read some other reviews how people can be so derogatory about a cruise line that provides the most incredible overall cruise holiday experience. I think that people often forget that cruising is a mass market holiday and that the food and entertainment in particular has to appeal to a very wide cross section and nationalities. Ok, so the buffet isn't gourmet, but there is so much choice, you'd have to be exceptionally fussy not to find plenty to eat. It is true that the layout of the buffet isn't the best on the Millenium Class ships, which is something that has been addressed on the Solstice Class, but the former are older vessels. People also complain about lack of seating, which is nonsense. The issue is that the seating closest to the buffet gets busy, but there's always plenty of seating further back...........you just have to walk a couple of yards! Equally, the MDR does a great job especially considering the numbers they are catering for at any given time. There is always a reasonable menu choice. The area where Celebrity always has the wow factor is service. I find it incredible that anyone can fault the service. The staff in all areas of the ship work so hard (for our benefit). The bar and dining room staff are incredible and it never ceases to amaze me given the numbers they serve every couple of weeks how they remember your name and drinks you prefer. People often miss the fact that when you sit down to eat, no one asks what you ordered, the correct food is put in front of you................every time. The cabins are perfectly big enough, with plenty of space for clothes etc., The Cabin Steward was always available, courteous and eager to help and as we pre-pay gratuities, no he wasn't after a bigger tip! The entertainments team word really hard and whilst the activities and shows may not be to everyones liking you can't fault the energy and effort. Overall, we had a wonderful cruise experience and will continue to cruise with Celebrity as long as they have the itineraries we want to do. I do have two very small gripes. 1. The dance-floor in the Rendezvous Lounge on Constellation just isn't big enough, and 2. The daily canopes in Concierge Class are a waste of time and a total waste of time. So, in summary, we had a lovely cruise on a lovely ship and were looked after incredibly well by people who try their hardest to please. Read Less

We booked this cruise a year and a half ago. What fun planning. There were 4 of us, all retired, but active. We picked this cruise because of the itinerary and our past experiences with Celebrity. The ship was originally to depart from Istanbul, but the bombings at the airport there resulted in Celebrity changing our departure port to Athens. I am glad I booked my air thru Choice Air, as they took care of the changes without charge. We arrived 3 days early and stayed at The Central Athens Hotel. It was located in the Plaka district, which was close to many of the sights. Breakfast was included. We used Michael's Amazing Tours for a day trip to Corinth and Athens. We also used him for our transport from the airport to the hotel and a half day tour before he dropped us off at the ship. Good tours, good driver. Embarkation was a breeze. We were onboard in 15 minutes. Due to a drop in price we had a concierge stateroom. Not sure the extra perks are worth paying more, but since it didn't cost us extra, it was nice. As I have found in the past the crew was attentive, and friendly. The food was good, although I missed the nightly Sushi in the buffet. Now you have to pay for it at Sushi on 5. Entertainment in the main theater was about the same. The lounge had a good Irish couple, singing and playing. The wine cellar had a violin duet from Poland who were very good. Internet was much improved! Almost as fast as home. The plans offered were expensive and restrictive. That needs adjustment. Top marks for whoever came up with the reboarding procedure. Every ship I've been on has had an employee with sanitizer at the gangway. This trip you didn't get spritzed until you put all your stuff on the belt for the x-ray machine. Made getting back on board much easier. We used private companies for our tours, since we like smaller groups. In Kusadasi we went to Ephesus. It is a don't miss site. The tour also included lunch at a rug factory. Yes they would love to sell you a rug, but there was no pressure. Ottl Travel's guide was very good. Next up was Rhodes Greece. We had no plans and just walked the old city. In Limassol, Cyprus we did a jeep tour up to the mountains. I'm to old to ride in a jeep! We did have a very good lunch at a tavern in the mountains. Now came the highlight of our trip, Haifa and Ashdod. We had 3 days in Israel and wore ourselves out. GTI provided the tours and we saw Galilee, Nazareth, and the Jorden in Northern Israel, then Jerusalem and Bethlehem the following day. Our final day we went to Masada and the Dead Sea. There was so much to see, glad we got a taste. We had friends who were there in May and they said it was too hot. Glad we did it in Oct. as the weather was in the 80's. Our last port before Rome was Valletta Malta. We walked around the city and enjoyed the sights. We departed the ship in Civitavecchia. We took a tour of Orvieto and Bagnoregio (two hill towns in Umbria) on the way to Rome. We rented an apartment for 4 days and saw most of the places visitors go. Fun time. A great trip, with many memories! Read Less

After this cruise, I am hooked. No renting cars, no checking into hotels, no navigating to the next town and the BEST SERVICE one can imagine. We got to Venice two days early and enjoyed the city. Took a water taxi to the port for 80 euros. Very easy embarkation. One negative compared to embarkation on the Summit was that the Summit made us, as suite level guests, feel very special. Here it felt like a normal check in. Our room was the Celebrity Suite which we had on the Summit before. Butler and room attendant were very attentive. The cabin is spacious with two TVs, dining table, pull out couch and a curved veranda. However, the bathroom is not for anyone with mobility issues. It is a big step down from the tub to the floor. There really needs to be a handle bar to help you get out of the tub. Ship is spotless. DH thought it was more beautiful than the Summit but in all fairness the last time we were on the Summit was before it's refurbishing. The public art is pretty bad. However, it does have a Chiully sculpture outside of Reflections. Entertainment was hit or miss. We usually enjoy the smaller venues and skip the big shows. Here, the smaller acts were hard to time with our schedule and didn't float our boats. However, we enjoyed the shows like WE3 and Jayne Curry. We mainly ate at Luminae at night. Excellent service and food was generally excellent. Had some misses but that's to be expected. Really enjoyed our Sommelier Panji matching wines to our courses. We ate at Tuscan Grille which is a beautiful restaurant. Much prettier than Qsine on the Summit. Generous portions. The garlic mashed potatoes were excellent. They even have homemade LImoncello. Ocean liners was also great. I got the dover sole and DH got lobster. Excellent service. Oceanview café always amazes me. They have such a selection of foods. I really enjoy the Asian section. The mango chutney is great. The big surprise from the restaurants was Sushi on 5. We ate lunch there on a sea day. It was really nice to be in a quiet atmosphere and eat a light meal. That is, of course, until I ordered the ginger cake dessert with wasabi ice cream. Yum! We both had wonderful spa treatments. The ports were really different and interesting. We only did Celebrity shore excursions in Dubrovnik and the transfer from the ship to the airport in Athens. The other ports we either had a private tour (Amalfi) or just kicked around the ports on our own. Our favorite was Kotor, Montenegro. It was like walking through a fairy tale. In all the ports, we found neat stuff to take home to our kids. I did enjoy the lectures by Cynthia Peer and Ken Williams. However, the thing that sets this style of travel apart from all others is the service. The crew was incredible. Our room attendant was the best ever. Wait staff seemed to know our names by the second day. Really wonderful people that made our cruise very special. Read Less

This was our second cruise on the Constellation and our expectations were again exceeded in almost every way. We enjoyed all aspects of the ship from the dining options, spa amenities, and entertainment. We picked this cruise for the ports, but ended up looking forward to the sea days and evenings just as much. The staff was incredibly attentive and remembered names and preferences after the first or second day. We used the Persian Gardens every day and participated in fitness classes. We ate at the specialty restaurants on five nights and thought the quality of the food and service was well worth the upcharge. We can't wait to get back on a Celebrity ship. The ports of call incredible and the perfect weather made it easy to enjoy all the history and life. We booked independent or self guided tours in all the ports. We can't recommend the Constellation enough. Read Less

We chose this for the itinerary viz Venice, Ravenna, Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar. We usually go P and O so were a bit worried about the ship being American. The fact that the clientele was so varied actually was a benefit- we really enjoyed talking to Americans and Canadians. The ship was pretty much the same as P and O though so that was easy. P and O however are better for various things- the embarkation process was not so smooth; but the major disadvantages were the entertainment (the evening shows were pretty poor and more importantly there was nothing during the day except shopping, no lectures except for a very boring travelogue, no classical concerts etc), the laundry ( no self service laundrette and the laundry we did pay for didn't even get the clothes clean), and the tea (no joking matter for an Englishwoman! to have no tea making facilities in the cabin). BUT the major advantage was the drinks package- it was so relaxing to not have to fuss about what to drink or how much to get, and all good quality. This alone as well as the itineraries would make us use Celebrity again! The service of course was fantastic, and the meals (but do Americans not like cheese??) I would recommend people to go for timed dining, it is so interesting to get to know different people on your table instead of having to introduce yourselves to new people all the time. NB another plus point for P and O is that lunch in the dining room is available every day. Some people never go on excursions but we prefer to do so and book them in advance, we generally enjoyed them. I think the descriptions need overhauling- strange criteria for strenuous or not strenuous! eg Ravenna, not, but Blue Grotto and Fort Klis definitely. The worst excursion we went on was the so called pirate ship- all it did was ferry us into Dubrovnik which we'd already seen and leave us, we didn't even have time to drink the drink! no commentary, no tour. We were really glad we had the few extra days in Venice beforehand, very luxurious (if tiring!) and we got to know some lovely people. So now we come to the BIG COMPLAINT. Having been looked after so beautifully for a fortnight, when we disembarked we were completely abandoned. None of your staff had a clue about our bus transfer to the airport, there was nowhere comfortable to sit and wait, no coffee etc available. Marco Polo airport is a nightmare, not your fault I know, but Celebrity should have looked after us much better, it left a bad taste in the mouth at the end of our cruise. Read Less

Wonderful cruise, excellent friendly staff, fantastic entertainment , great cruise director in Richard Spacey.. Good food. The staff all remembered your name wherever you went on the ship, always smiling and very very friendly. Entertainment was the best ever, acapella group called We3 were amazing. Jane curry female vocalist and comedian got standing ovation on both evenings. Ju.ian smith, saxophonist from britains got talent was fantastic. Husband loved the hypnotist, but not my thing. And one of the house bands joe and Olivia were just great, bought their cd too. Richard spacey , cruise director was friendly and very very funny. We didn't really enjoy he MDR as we were always sitting in the traffic lanes and felt uncomfortable, nothing to do with quality of food though. We enjoyed the ocean view cafe though, always a good selection and always hot and fresh. The ship is very clean and comfortable, but it does need a refurb soon, nothing to upset you, just the odd scuffs and scratches here and there. Done 22 cruises and this is definaetly in our top 3. We selected this cruise because we had sailed on one other reunion cruise and loved the extra programs available for members of Celebrity's loyalty club. This was truly one of our favorite vacations. The staff went above and beyond in every aspect of the cruise. The Sr Staff were not only visible throughout the cruise but they really enjoyed talking with the passengers and they made sure our vacation was not only enjoyable but we felt like an important part of their family. I will never forget coming back from an excursion and as our group started walking toward the ship it began to rain. You could see the clouds on the horizon so we knew we were going to get soaked. Then all of a sudden we saw the officers and crew of the Constellation running toward us with umbrellas. They were getting soaked themselves but they wanted to make sure we were dry. AMAZING! This is just one example of the phenomenal service demonstrated by the crew of the Constellation. Every meal we had was delicious, the drink recommendations from the bar crew were spot on and every show or poolside event had members of the crew participating with genuine smiles on their faces and a desire to make sure every guest had a great time on vacation. It really was one of our favorite cruises and we just booked our next cruise on the Constellation a year from now. Thanks to the crew of the Constellation for a great vacation!!! Read Less

A Mediterranean cruise has been a bucket list item for us for many years. We've also wanted to try Celebrity after being on 18 other cruises. Our expectations were very high and we were not disappointed. The ship was beautiful and I was looking for some the shoddy spots mentioned in some reviews. I couldn't find any. Our cabin was the nicest we've ever had. Our shower was the twice the size of other ships, night light in the bathroom. Nice size balcony with very comfortable chairs. Beds were very comfortable. We had cabin 8095. The service was fantastic. Our concierge was very helpful, cabin steward and wait staff were wonderful. Bartenders were a lot of fun. We usually try a specialty restaurant on cruises, but the food was so good in the dining room that we didn't even consider it. Even the internet was very good. All new Macs and the speed of the computers was a pleasant surprise. Entertainers were all good. Jane Curry was exceptional. We loved all of the ports. Lots of history and breathtaking scenery. Weather was perfect, seas were calm for the entire cruise. Read Less

We chose this cruise as our first cruise because of the destinations and the excellent reputation of celebrity. We were not disappointed in any way. Embarkation was easy to follow without any delays with good explanations and directions from all staff. All areas of the ship, Celebrity Constellation, were very clean, well maintained and modern. The entertainment was varied and of a high standard with the cast members and resident band surprisingly good. Although the cabin would benefit from refurbishment. It was clean and comfortable and we were very well looked after by our steward Lourdes. We ate every night in the main San Marco restaurant with the food, service and impromptu entertainment provided by Jermaine our waiter, made every evening a pleasure. The food was varied and to a high standard and therefore we didn't feel the need to try one of the specialty restaurants. A special mention to staff and crew who were all very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Because of our overall experience we have already booked our second cruise with Celebrity. Just back from our first Celebrity Cruise onboard the Constellation. We were travelling with our 6 year old son on 11 Night Eastern Mediterranean Cruise. Cannot fault the cruise at all. Everything was above and beyond our expectations. Food was all excellent. Dining room experience wonderful. Staff were all so friendly and remembered us all by name. Fun Factory was amazing our son went everyday even 3 times a day on sea days. Fun Factory staff amazing. They were only a total of 23 children onboard our cruise. The Fun Factory had only 2-8 children in total at each session, which was great for our son who prefers small groups I think that's why he enjoyed it so much alot of one on one attention. We travelled 8-20 September. However I heard that in August there was 250 and 500 children onboard for those cruises. As our cruise was when all UK/USA schools just started back so not many children were onboard so that worked out to our advantage. We are from Australia and currently our Spring school holidays. We had the classic beverage package which was wonderful it was a free perk when we booked so it great for us we didn't see the need to upgrade to the premium package. If anyone has any questions please let me know I would be happy to answer them. I kept all the Fun Factory Daily programs aswell as our Celebrity Dailes. Fantastic cruise. Read Less

We enjoyed this cruise on the Connie tremendously. We were in an Aqua class cabin and ate in Blu. Eating in Blu was like being in a specialty restaurant every night. It was gourmet and healthy food in an intimate setting. We even ate breakfast there as they promised to get us fed and out in 35 minutes. The ship and our cabin was clean and serviced well. We took this cruise for the itinerary in the Adriatic. Every port was wonderful. We used our own pre-arranged tour guides and enjoyed the small group feeling as well as the much less expensive (than crowded ship) excursions. Both embarkation and disembarkation were a breeze: well organized and fast. Due to our long dinners, we didn't get a chance to see much of the entertainment. Cons: They charged us $15 and $20 each for transfers from the ports to the cities. The classic beverage package no longer includes martinis in the Martini Bar. We were no longer able to get cash (less 5%) from our Celebrity on board credit in the casino. Read Less

I choose this cruise mainly for the Itinerary but also because I have sailed with Celebrity twice in the past albeit on bigger and newer ships. There have been mixed reviews about 'Connie' as it is affectionately known stating that it is looking tired and in need of a refit. We saw no signs of this. Yes it is an older ship and perhaps lacks the elegance of the newer ships but overall it was lovely. The main Restaurant has an amazing floor to ceiling window giving fantastic views as you sail along. The cabins were the same standard as any other Celebrity Ship. The bathroom was a little on the small side and had a shower curtain rather than a proper cubicle. To give the illusion of space there was floor to ceiling mirrors along the wall of the bedroom at the bottom of the bed. One thing we absolutely loved about 'Connie' was the Adult indoor pool. It is a Thalolassotherapy pool and was like getting into a hot bath. So relaxing after a tiring day sightseeing. There are tubular seats on either side of the pool with jets of water - wonderful. There are also 2 Jacuzzis that have cold water jets strategically placed. We were on fixed dining. We noticed that Celebrity have reduced the number of courses from 4 to 3. However, we often asked for 2 Starters eg soup and a salad and it was never a problem. The Staff were very accommodating. The Buffet had excellent choices, especially at lunchtime. The Asian section was first class and very varied. We didn't bother with the Specialty Restaurants as we felt they were overpriced and the food in the Main restaurant was generally very good. The Entertainment in the Theatre was superb in fact the best we have had. We also liked the silent disco dancing which I hadn't seen done before. Three times during the cruise headsets were provided with a choice of 3 channels of music to dance to. Very funny to watch and fun to participate in. The Itinerary was very good with only one sea day. However I do find that the shore excursions are overpriced and with a bit of research you can do the same trips yourself or with local guides at a fraction of the price. Read Less
