We went for this cruise for the itinerary. Had not sailed with Celebrity before but reviews were generally good. We were disappointed. Most cruise lines want to extract your cash but Celebrity take this to another level. Definitely not to the standard of Princess or Cunard. Their entertainment programme, especially for five consecutive sea days was very thin. Not everyone wants to lie on a sun bed all day. Their customer service is appalling; once we arrived in Abu Dhabi for a two day stop over diesel tankers directly below our stateroom were refuelling all night, both nights. When we complained we were told it was out of their hands although after much pressure from us they moved us on the second night. Never, ever again. There are much better cruise lines out there that won't cost you as much. Embarkation was a little chaotic but nothing to compare with disembarkation. We were off the ship by 7.15 am and directed to our coach transfer to the airport. We then sat there for 45 minutes while they decided who should be on the coach. Other people we knew on the same flight as us home didn't disembark until 8.15am. Dining in the restaurant offered limited choice and the presentation of menus was poor, with tired, tatty looking menus that looked as if they hadn't been changed for months. Service however was very good. Read Less

The holiday was part of my wife's 80th birthday celebration. Having been several cruises with other companies we wanted to try out the Celebrity Cruise line. Also we had never before been through the Suez Canal. We spent a few days in Rome (a city we are familiar with) before the cruise and then a few days in Dubai (a new experience) at the end. Seen it now - wouldn't go back! The ship was very good (maybe a little bit tired) but the cabin was excellent and the organisation and staff first class. We old folks took part in lots of on-board activities and particularly enjoyed the entertainment - especially the very informative lectures. The upstairs buffet was very good but unfortunately the main dinning room not so. Many people complained about the slow service and on occasions the piped music made conversation impossible. I've never had such a bad crepe suzette. Would we go again with Celebrity ? Well, maybe. While we can perhaps afford it, I'm never comfortable feeling I'm being "ripped off". The excursions were well over priced; $300 up front for gratuities plus 18% on all drinks (come on !!) and $530 for Wi Fi - even the ship's comedian thought it was a joke. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, we had a great holiday - thoroughly enjoyed it. However, our two immediately previous cruises on TUI Discovery and the Allure of the Seas were equally good, if not better value for money. Celebrity Cruises are good - but not as good as they think they are. Read Less

Let me start by saying the majority of the staff were great. I found some of the male help in the dining room did not give way to any females, even when they, the female, had the right of way. I found the decor of the ship drab and the floor plan very confusing. The organization of the ship/ships crew I found to be disorganized. Why, for the love of sanity, would a crew member to told to paint the cafe during breakfast and lunch? The fumes were horrible and very unappetizing. Why not do it at night when there would be less people there? The offering of entertainment/activities I found to be very limiting. Why are there always more offerings for activities that are trying to sell you something? More for their pocketbook, I know. The offerings for this cruise was very limited, compared to other cruise lines, in my experience. The food was the most distressing. My DH and I do not tolerate spices and almost every dish we had was unedible because of having too much spice. Even foods not expected to have spice, was spicy. My mouth was on fire the majority of the trip. The mineral bath was fantastic! And it was free! Other cruise lines charge for the use. The activity of Improvisation was the most fun we have had on a cruise line in a long, long time. It was just not long enough. Speaking of service, my DH has a problem with his arms and requires ice packs at night. The crew was most helpful in providing that in the middle of the night. They were great. Would I go again? Probably not on a Celebrity again. Read Less

We selected this cruise based on the interesting itinerary from Rome to Abu Dhabi, including a journey through the Suez Canal and a trip to Petra from Aqaba, Jordan. The ports were all a lot of fun and interesting. Several were easy enough to do on our own. Our time was limited in Catania and Muscat, so I wish we were there for more hours. The cruise was long with many sea days, but we enjoyed the different activities the Celebrity Constellation offered. I wish they would vary the timing of activities from day to day so we could do more. For instance, if you decide to participate in trivia, it's at the same time daily and often conflicts with several other things on the schedule. Also, the schedule is packed from 10am-3pm, but not much going on in the late afternoon. While the Constellation is an older ship, it didn't feel old and they've done a good job keeping it updated. We found our cabin comfortable and the ship easy to get around. The food in the Oceanview Cafe was great for breakfast and lunch, offering a wide variety. We also enjoyed access to ice cream and cookies in the afternoon. We had great service by a couple of different waiters in the main dining room (a few not so great servers). For the most part, the food was good, but not great. We had a few misses. The entertainment was predictable but enjoyable. The production cast and musicians were very good, and we liked the theme nights in the Reflections lounge in the late evening. Read Less

We were very excited about this cruise and choose celebrity with its great reputation and with this ship having so many sea days we wanted to make sure we had great food and great entertainment... we were in an aqua spa suit with balcony and on first impressions although it was dated it was very clean so we were happy well this didn’t last long... our room was above the main buffet so it was noisy and constantly smelt of food and the overwhelming strong garlic smell that stuck to our clothes and was in our room and throughout the corridor was sickening... the main buffet served the same everyday just changing the meat, the man carving the meat would just pick it up with his hands and chuck it on your plate even though he was wearing gloves it put you off eating it he was very rude and he had an argument with a guest because he manhandled his food so bad half of it miss his plate, it was like being served in prison...I always eat fresh vegetables at home so much to my shock and surprise to find them serving only frozen vegetables in the buffet they were tasteless and soggy quite frankly vile... I can confirm it was frozen veg as every day we saw a member of staff walking through our corridor with bags of frozen veg taking it down to the buffet... there was a particular group of people that spend all day and all night in the smoking area getting drunk which is fine until they were so drunk they were swearing shouting racist remarks being rude to the bar staff chucking rubbish and bottles all over the floor and upsetting many guest around them... where was the ships security why were these people aloud to carry on... if i had been told for 3 days of this cruise the outer decks would be shut down and lighting turned down for safety because of pirates I would have never booked this cruise, this also ment if you had paid for a balcony you couldn’t go on it the lights had to be off curtains shut... our room was difficult to get to and from with the amount of areas shut down on the ship and I saw many elderly people struggling to get to there room in the dark and getting lost in fact we helped a few and we don’t even work on the ship... entertainment well if you can call it entertainment was diabolical the best singer I saw on that ship was a guest getting up to sing in karaoke, the shows were so amateur that it was embarrassing to watch I never saw any to the end cos it was awful, celebrity need to take a leaf out of Norwegian books they had amazing shows, they charge 25 dollars per person to play deal or no deal I know other ships charge 20 dollars, the only good thing the entrainment team put on was the silent disco... tv channels consist of all about celebrity cruises a bit of sport and news channels if you want to watch a movie you pay 15 dollars that’s of course if the movie can download now even though they are charging you 15 dollars to watch a movie in your room you can watch some of them films for free in the outdoor cinema total daylight robbery on celebrity’s behalf... also opposite the coffee shop you can purchase ice cream at a cost but you can get the same ice cream in the buffet for free how can you charge people in some parts of the ship and have it for free in other parts of the ship... daylight robbery... the internet is massively over expensive and we need it for my husbands work but over half the time it didn’t work...When we got on the ship we brought a drinks package included soft drinks and alcohol much to our surprise half way through our cruise the had run out of coco cola, Nescafé and other brands not exceptable celebrity especially when it was at the start of the sea days so you had to wait till the next port before they could stock up again and even then there was still beverages unavailable... we wanted champagne with our dinner in the Italian restaurant which was the only nice meal we had they had a long list and we know that’s not encluded but we wanted a romantic night and were more than happy to pay for champagne the only good one they had was Cristal how can you run out of champagne...me and my husband got tummy aches and sickness along with a lot of other guest whilst on this ship, the only time We enjoyed ourself was when we got off the ship in Tormina and Petra... when we docked in Abu Dhabi we changed our flight and came home early because we couldn’t stand to be on this ship a moment longer I can honestly say our bad experience with this ship has put us off cruising for life I certainly will never book with celebrity again Read Less

We chose this cruise line because of the itinerary and that is the only reason, three days in Israel. Three cabins, two generations of cruisers. We have been on lots of cruises, never on Celebrity and never again! Let me start with the positive: big upgraded rooms (we paid for this!) nice staff. Now the negative: we paid to upgrade my parents, we show up at entry, there is no cabin for them and no one seems concerned. I pitched a fit and they found one. They charge for spin and Zumba and yoga classes, a first in my experience. No free Internet --in fact Internet charge was close to $500. Many rooms off limits thruout the cruise for private functions. Unless you drink tap water, coffee (lukewarm) or tea, you pay for ANYTHING you drink. You pay for specialty restaurants. You pay for gelato! Food in dining room and café was unbelievably tasteless even desserts!! Even croissants! No real fridge in rooms. No bottled water.Certain room service items were extra. Ship dirty and smelly Entertainment and activities scant.Forget TV movies and channels, very limited and mostly UK game shows!! Hard sell on everything, in fact, most "activites" were sale shows. 26 such events in ONE DAY. Port lectures were very poor and unreliable, mostly telling you where to shop at their "preferred: shops. It took us three hours to get a rerplacement bathroom light. Towels and sheets are very old and paper thin. Tap water is vile yellowish. Prized for trivia contests were pathetic...sunglass paper cover, small USB stick...?deck of cards Charged $50 for one small sack of laundry. The experience was laughably bad. Avoid at all costs. Me and my husband plus a group of couples of 11 did the 12-Nights Israel and Mediterranean Cruise aboard Celebrity Constellation from October 30 to November 11, 2018. We are all seasoned cruisers having been cruised for 12 or more times aboard Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and Carnival. It’s our first time to cruise with Celebrity. Here are our overall positive and negative comments. Positive Comments: Excellent Wait Staff on the Main Dining on Deck 4 where we had our group nightly dinner. Also most of the morning staff assigned at Oceanview Café on Deck 10 are commendable for their friendliness and quick in responding to our requests. The Hospitality Staff assigned on our decks (Deck 3, 7 and 8) are also friendly and are conscientious workers. One of them managed to memorize our names on the second day of the cruise. The Ultra Violet Party House Band that played at Reflections Lounge (Deck 11) and Rendezvous Lounge (Deck 4) provided excellent music especially catering to those who love disco/ballroom dancing. DJ Carlos is also commendable. Silent Disco was awesome. Negative Comments: I wonder why the staff at Guest Relations (Deck 3) provided different answers to the same question or issue at hand. I don’t normally give up if I wasn’t happy with the answer I received for the question or issue at hand. I noticed that you need to talk to the staff with higher position. For example, in the early morning of November 9 (at sea), I requested for new tags for earlier disembarkation be issued to my group. The first staff I approached at the Guest Relations advised me that she will consult with the team and will contact or leave a message to my stateroom. After a couple of hours, I went back to the Guest Relations desk for an update and this time a different staff but has a position by looking at her uniform. The staff asked me if I was issued the new tags and I said no. Right there and then she printed all the tags for all members of my group. What happens if I didn’t do a follow-up on the matter? Will I be falling in line together with the rest who have issues to be addressed at the last minute? Celebrity has poor security training. One gentleman from my group had a sort of harassment by one of their security staff on Deck 5 (Emporium). This gentleman just paid for his purchases when the security staff approached him suddenly (and rudely) and asked for his Sail Pass. Why would this security staff ask for his Sail Pass upfront? Guests are all scrutinized upon check-in and hence given a valid Sail Pass. When confronted, the security staff went away abruptly without apologizing or gave a reason for his action. We gathered that someone’s husband was missing and my friend was mistakenly identified. More than 24 hours had passed but no apology was issued and so I went to Guest Relations to ask for an update. After a few minutes, another security staff met us only to say that he’s waiting for the perfect time to issue an apology. That was bull. If that was the case, the apology should have been done on that same time and day. Celebrity hires inept staff. One lady in my group had contacted Celebrity a few months before sailing to arrange for distilled water for her CPAP machine. After checking-in, my lady friend went to her stateroom and called Guest Relations for her distilled water. A staff came with an empty water bottle. To cut the long story short, the “distilled water” was delivered to Stateroom 3029 and was used that night. My friend felt something unusual when she used her CPAP and complained to the Guest Relations. Well, what was delivered was distilled water used for batteries! Whoever arranged to fulfill the request was inept. Celebrity should be held responsible if something serious happened to my friend during the cruise. We requested for a special breakfast to be served on the last sea day since we’re aware that there’s a kitchen staff who can cook this breakfast menu. This was set for November 9 at 8:30 am in the main dining room with the maître-d. A couple days before November 9, I requested the maître-d to move the breakfast from 8:30 am to 8:45 am so we can attend the mass officiated daily by the Cruise Chaplain. The maître-d outrightly said NO since 8:45 am is almost closing time for breakfast. Come breakfast on November 9, half of my group were at the dining room at 8:30 am sharp. It was okay even though we didn’t have the same tables that we used nightly. However, to wait for the breakfast to be served way past 9:00 am (about 9:20 am) was unacceptable. It was ridiculous to think that my request to move our breakfast 15 minutes later was not granted! Furthermore, we waited for the service only to find out the rice was uncooked and the “tapa” we requested looked like “beef stroganoff”, the same of which was served at Oceanview Café on Deck 10. Worse, no one approached our tables to offer coffee, juices nor water. It looks like the staff was busy for lunch that day. One last thing re entertainment. The lady that performs with Good Vibes at Rendezvous (Deck 4) didn't look like she's an entertainer with the way she dresses. Lastly, we arrived at 12 noon on embarkation on October 30 at Civitavecchia terminal. However, embarkation was delayed to past 5:00 pm due to weather conditions the previous day. The guests who arrived at that time were offered a bottle of water and a small pack of cookies. Since Celebrity is a big cruise line and their cruises are a bit pricey, the guests should be offered at least decent sandwiches for waiting for more than 4 hours. Since it’s our first time with Celebrity, we will have second thoughts if we will book our future cruises with this cruise line. First impression lasts! Read Less

We chose this cruise due to the ports (Rome, Crete, 3 days Israel, Mykonos, Athens , Naples) and because we liked our cruise on the Celebrity Silhouette in January. This was my 15 cruise (Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Carnival, Holland America)and I believe the Constellation is my favorite ship so far. I enjoyed the easy layout and the general ambiance. It is not a party ship and in general I would say that the average age is 50+ and mostly well traveled cruisers but I'm looking to relax on a cruise. My favoite things about this ship: 1) The 3 story bow shaped window at the back of the Marco Polo dining room (fabulous views as we departed the ports) 2) The outside movie theatre. At the back of the ship deck 12 (go to 11th floor then walk upstairs) instead of being at the pool deck. Very nice comfortable lounge furniture. I was surprised with the sun out how well the movie still showed on the screen. 3) Theatre. Very nice size for this size ship, never had a problem finding a seat at either time frame. Nice mixture of entertainment. 4) The table/bar area at the back of the ship just beyond the buffet. Very seldom crowded, quiet place to eat and enjoy a mixture of covered and uncovered seating. 5) Very good ship's excursions and I'm not a great lover of ship's excursions in general but these were exceptional. 6) Many nice quiet nooks inside to sit and read or just converse with friends. We chose those cruise because it was going to places that we wanted to visit and also ports we have never been to be. Right from start it was horrific. We arrived at Rome port to find the ship not there. We were told there would be at least a delay of 6 hours due to bad weather. During that wait, which the cruise company were aware of all we were offered was a small bottle of water and a small packet oftuc biscuits but because they run out of them we had to share. There were not enough seats so we had to stand part of the time. Then we got to our state room to find the air conditioning not working which took them 5 attempts before it was put right. We had to wait in the room to explain the problem each time. Eventually they put a new system in which would have been done on the first visit. Then on 5th day toilet didn’t work so they had to put a new system in there. We asked to be put into a different cabin but we were told the cruise was fully booked. Also our cabin was never cleaned when we first got into it. Our hand towels were a disgrace. I have better dish clothes. The food in the restaurant always came cold and selection very poor. The whole of the ship looked as if it needed refurbishing. I have never been on a cruise where they didn’t have the currency of the places we were visiting. They didn’t even have euros. When we were at sea there was nothing to entertain us except if you were interested in the casino or going to an auction to bid for a painting. There were so many issues I could go on and on about it. It was even more of a disappointment as we were on the cruise to celebrate my husbands special birthday. Read Less

It was the worse cruise we have ever been on. On getting to Rome Port the ship wasn’t there due to bad weather which they were aware of 24 hours beforehand. We then had to wait over 6 hours on a hard chair (if you were lucky to get one) and all we were offered was a small bottle of water and a small packet of crackers which they run out of so we only got 1 to share. When we got to our cabin it wasn’t cleaned out sticky marks on the unit. The toilet smelled. Had to ask for disinfectant. The hand towels were a disgrace ready for the bin. Then our fiasco began our air conditioning didn’t work and we had 5 visits from maintenance before they installed a new unit. We asked to be put into a different cabin but was told there weren’t none as shipwas full. Then on the 5th day toilet didn’t work so once again had to wait in cabin for anew system to be put in. The whole ship looked as if it needed refurbishing. There wasn’t any currency to be had on the places we were visiting . The days at sea were a disgrace nothing organised unless you wanted to gamble or attend an art auction. The excursions cost a fortune so didn’t go on any. All the food in restaurant came up cold and had to keep returning it and the variety of food was very poor. The entertainment was more suitable for children which obviously didn’t appeal to most people as the theatre was never full. It was such a disappointment as we went on this cruise to celebrate my husbands special birthday. Read Less

I chose this cruise because a group of us wanted to visit countries the apostles did their missions. The installation were very good, good options were also good and the service in the rooms was the best. Our allocated attendee Dewi was the best o ever had in any hotel or cruise. Seat down dinner was also a treat. The food selection was good and our waiters Arman, Linda and Adrian made our stay very enjoyable. Embarkation and disembarkation at every port was straight foward. We stayed on the 2nd deck. No window. Room was comfortable. The spa is also very, the persion garden, massagens and pedicures but you do pay excessively or these services. The worse think for me was the fact that they always chose to leave dock around dinner time and the initial rocking of the ship always made me sick and the service at customer service was not good. Some very rude lady. Not sure how she was selected to be in that post. Everyone i spoke too had a hard time whenever she was the one serving. We were a group of 95 people. There were also very limited activities and shows where sometimes very good most times not worth the time. Read Less

This was our first Celebrity Cruise. We chose this shop both for the size and the itineraries. These were some interesting ports! We arrived from our hotel in Rome with two other couples we met on Cruise Critic. We arrived around 1:45 and walked right on to the ship! No lines or waiting due to being past the rush and having the express paperwork filled out. Our cabin was ready and we dropped our carryon and went to have lunch in the Oceanview Cafe. There was a lot of choices and a bit confusing in the layout. We found our friends and enjoyed our first days, The cabin had plenty of storage and we had brought some extra hangers to store our gear. The bathroom was adequate with a pretty good size shower. The balcony furniture was nice and comfortable. There was some signs of age. Particularly the “ headboards” are kind of scruffy and the carpeting worn. But comfortable and adequate. We ate our meals in the MDR and even though we had open seating we ended up making a reservation for th same table most nights and got to know our waiters... Food was mostly very good. Some choices were a little unique for our tastes but generally very good. Staff all over the ship were welcoming and friendly. The cruise director Paul and a Sarah were entertaining without being cloying. Entertainment was mostly very good in the main theater. The ship orchestra was excellent. However, the lounge singers were painfully bad. They tried but were off key and sad. Would have liked a piano bar sing along atmosphere better. We had only booked two excursions through Celebrity, The one in Cassis was very good. The one in Portofino was difficult due to having to travel from LaSpezia when our port was cancelled . The motor coaches were good but then they smooshed us onto a public bus and we had to stand for 15 minutes into Portofino, The crazy ending came when we encountered very bad storms on our way back to Italy. Two ports had to be cancelled, seas were very rough, our mooring snapped and we hit the Costa Magica behind us in port. There was nothing Celebrity could do about the weather but the communication was not good. People were waiting to hear if we could sail again and get to Civitavecchia on time to get flights home. When that became impossible they made a vague announcement about letting people leave this ship at night and be bussed to Rome... we decided to stay on board and hoped to make our flights. Those who left encountered chaos trying to get out... blame on both sides. But again communication was lacking.. there were long lines at guest relations. I felt bad for those folks. Since we had booked our air with Celebrity they said they would take care of us, we arrived very late in port and hung out watching movies, eating and sunning on the deck. They did take us by bus to the Hilton, fed us dinner and rebooked our flights for the next day. Getting your flight was rather chaotic, they could have done a bit better there. They put us on a different flight than our friends. They took us to the airport at 4:00am.it worked out in the end but it wa quite crazy!!! Too bad because we enjoyed the ports, our new friends we met, the food and ost of the experiences we had. I would recommend booking through Celebrity Air , it certainly helped us! Read Less

Will start my review saying that we were a group of 9 friends who started our trip with a two night stay in Rome then we headed to port to begin our Celebrity experience. We all felt the food and service in the bars and dining area was very good. Cold beer was a problem for three of our group. Never could find one. Bar service poolside was very slow but all the staff was super friendly. We were concerned about the Constellation due to her age and the fact that she's getting a major reno in two years but not a problem. She's in great shape and we had no reason to be concerned. Entertainment was lacking. Had a band in the RendeVous room every night that was marginal at best. Headphone night and a few comedians were enjoyable. Problem is most of the shows in the Celebrity Theatre were too early for diners who ate after 7 pm. So far so good. Now I'll get to the ugly part of the trip. We travel quite a bit and realize that no one has control over weather conditions. What is under control is how those unexpected issues are handled. We ran into serious problems with weather on the last 3 days of our cruise which caused the company to alter our ports. We were no longer able to go to Portofino due to the lack of a break wall to protect us from the incoming storms. We were docked in La Spezia instead. A nice enough place in good weather but not much else when it's not. Many shops closed being a Sunday. Thought we'd have Monday to shop but due to storms and flooding some of us felt it best to stay put on the boat. I'm shocked they even let people disembark in that weather but didn't seem too concerned. We felt the excursions were going due to financial issues and not safety. They should have warned all wanting to get off of the problems in town. We were expected to leave port for Rome (our final destination) at 3 pm. The weather prevented us from doing this. We had an issue with the winds causing the mooring lines to snap and our boat started shifting into the port on its own. The gangplank then came off while we moved. We then bumped into the Costa ship docked behind us. Felt the captain did a good job with the handling of a scary situation. People who were returning from excursions were kept on their coaches during this weather and, thankfully no one was injured. Obviously we were going nowhere anytime soon. A few hours later we went to Guest Services where we were told no problem we'll get you to Rome in time so we then prepared for dinner which went off without a hitch. No word from anyone in command about our plans to get us to Rome for flights the following morning. We understood the gravity of the situation and assumed they were doing all they good under the crazy circumstances. At 10:45 pm we received a ship wide announcement from the captain stating that between 11 pm and 1 am Celebrity would be proving bus transfers to Rome for all interested. Gather your things and come to Deck 3. We did just what we were told. Once there we were told to put our names on a list with our flight times and to go back to rooms and turn on Channel 6 where our names would appear when it was time to return to Deck 3. Needless to say this didn't happen. We were absolutely in no danger remaining on the ship so we returned to our rooms watching channel 6 for over an hour. When nothing seemed to be happening except people loading onto coaches, which we could see from our balconies, we decided to send a rep down to assess. He was told the logical approach was scrapped because people refused to follow the instruction. We then gathered our things and got in a line the entire length of the ship hauling our bags ourselves. Commented about elderly and handicapped situation for them would be awful. Finally boarded our coach for Rome at 2:40 am for a 5 hour drive. Could have been handled much better if they'd only followed the number system that was already on our bags for our disembarkation the next morning. Bad ending to an otherwise great experience. Therefore, we were a little anxious about the weather conditions at this time of the year. But more about the weather later in this review. The Ship: It is a few years since we last were on a Celebrity cruise, and then only on S-Class ships. This was the first time we were aboard an M-Class ship. But it turned out that we had nothing “to be worried about”! We found the Constellation to be a nice ship, and we think the ship seems mostly well maintained. Moreover, we really enjoyed the indoor Thalassotherapy Pool. Stateroom info: We had booked a Deluxe Veranda Stateroom on deck seven. It was comfortable. Two special comments: Some of the joins in the tiles on the bathroom were not clean, and some part of the balcony floor was not nice. We were very satisfied with our stateroom attendant. Dining: In connection with our embarkation, we were surprised to be informed that we had not been assigned to a set dining time in the MDR on deck five. We were on the wait list. But after talking to the maître, fortunately it was sorted out after a short while. We were pleased with the quality of the food we selected, and we had always excellent and pleasant service on our table no. 462, from our waiter Mayuresh and ass. waiter Praful, both from India, and from our sommelier, Lorenz from the Philippines. We really looked forward to every dinner with pleasure. We had all our breakfasts at the Oceanview Café, and also lunches, if we got back on time, after being ashore. During “peak hours” it could be a bit difficult to find an unoccupied table. When the weather was nice, we really liked to eat in the outside part of the Oceanview. We were pleased with the food selection. The employees did a good job of clearing tables etc., and the bars service was very good. We found the burgers at the Poolside Grill to be good. The Café al Bacio impressed us with its wide menu of coffee and teas, and with an excellent waiter service. Bars: We were very pleased with the service in all bars, and we think it was extra impressive with a view to the fact that the majority of the passengers also had a Beverage Package. Our favorite hang-out bar/lounge, was the Rendez-Vous, where we always received a friendly bar service, right after we were seated. Entertainment: With the exception of a male group, who performed Four Seasons Songs in the Theater, what we think in an excellent way, we were not particularly impressed. Unfortunately, we think most of the live music in the Rendez-Vous, was too noisy. The Captain’s Club Society: We are Elite Members, but we never attended the Elite Cocktail Hour, so I can't give any comment on that event. The Voyage: This cruise should have visited 8 ports of call - Gibraltar and 7 ports in Italy and France - in addition 2 sea days. But it happened unfortunately not quite as planned. During the first 8 days of the cruise, we had great weather. But especially the last 2 days, we were strucked by really bad weather with high winds and rough seas. And Constellation had to alter 2 ports. Instead of sailing to Portofino and Livorno, we had to sail to La Spezia as a replacement port. We were docked in La Spezia for 2 days, and on the second day it became really dramatic. The ship’s moorings broke, caused by the bad weather with heavy winds, and Constellation hit the cruise ship Costa Magica, which was docked behind us. Fortunately no one was hurt! The incident with Costa Magica happened in the afternoon, but no information was given until in the evening. Later, it was informed that those passengers, who wanted a free coach ride to the Funcimo Airport in Rome later in the evening / night, could register with Guest Relations on deck 3. Along with several hundred other passengers, we stood in line to be registered. We were told, that further information about the coach departures, would be announced later in the evening/night. My wife and I travel a lot, both on cruises and other ways of traveling. We have both experienced and know that unforeseen thinks can occur during a trip. In such cases, we also know that you unfortunately not always can thrust the information given by crew and employees, is correct. Their first priority will often be to try to “calm down the situation”. Personally, we therefore always in the best possible way, “closely try to follow up”, if unfortunate incidents should occur when we are travelling. After a couple of hours, we responded to the lack of information about the bus departures. We therefore took our baggage from our stateroom and found a place to sit down together with many other passengers near Guest Relations on deck 3. After a while we realized that the registration with the Guest Relations earlier in the evening, did not meant anything. You had to queue up. “First come, first served”. We understood later that we probably were some of the last ones who got a coach ride to the Airport. Our coach left the port around 3.00 am, and the ride took about 6 hours. Due to lack of space for suitcases on our coach, the coach was not full. So we had a relatively ok ride on mostly highways to the airport, and we arrived well in advance to our previously booked flight. I understand that it probably would not have been possible for Celebrity in the evening and night to get enough coaches to carry many hundred passengers on a 6 hour coach ride. But I feel really sorry for those of my fellow passengers who waited in vain in their staterooms for many hours for announcements for coach departures, announcements that never came. And therefore did not get the chance to catch a coach to the Funcimo Airport in Rome, and again maybe lost their flights. Overall – with the exception of the last 2 days of the cruise, we are very pleased with this our first cruise with Constellation. A nice ship, with an excellent and friendly crew. Read Less

Celebrity Constellation – Sailing date 19th October 2018 Having booked several Celebrity cruises over last 4 years we decided we will never cruise with Celebrity again. Let me explain why. The good Without a shadow of a doubt, the best thing about Celebrity (with a few exceptions) is its very hardworking and dedicated staff. The bad (1) The food on Celebrity used to be oh so good – a real dining experience in the evenings and a good range of choice in the buffet. The food in the dining room is still reasonable but the menus have not changed in years, anybody with a half decent memory will remember what they are going to be fed for dinner without any need to go and have a look at the menu. Costs have been cut and apart from the gala evenings the evening meal is no longer an event to look forward to. (2) The food in buffet restaurant has gone downhill dramatically. It was never of the standard found on Princess, but now resembles canteen food. You will be offered an array of cheap cream based cakes that are full of sugar but have no taste. If you like refried beans and chilli, you will be laughing as they are on the buffet every day. The choice of dishes is in fact, almost the same every day. The so called themed buffets lack any imagination or quality. Breakfast is also exactly the same every day. The “eggs benedict” is tasteless with the sauce cooked en masse. The choice of cold cuts is limited to the cheapest of the cheap, the kind you would find in a two star hotel. Five star modern luxury – yeah right. (3) The entertainment is extremely poor with the same old tired acts that you have seen on all your previous cruises. The on board musical acts are dreadfully dull and stuck in the past. The music played in the buffet is depressingly dull (4) Onboard activities are all based on extracting as many dollars as possible out of the pockets of their customers The ugly We experienced some very bad weather on the last three days of our cruise and the way Celebrity handled the situation was inexcusable. Be very clear that unless you have booked your flights and hotel through Celebrity, you are on your own. We were scheduled to visit Portofino and Florence , however due to impending bad weather the decision had been taken by the captain to sail instead to La Spezia to ensure the safety and well being ??? of its customers and crew. Be very clear that when this decision was taken, waters were still calm and relocating to calmer waters should have been a clear possibility ( an issue we raised with Celebrity but one they did not address) By sailing to La Spezia it enabled Celebrity (by their own admission) to go ahead with the numerous overpriced shore excursions many of their customers had paid for, ensuring this corporation did not lose what would have amounted to hundreds of thousands of dollars. However those of us that wanted to make individual arrangements were left with a TOTAL OF NOTHING. No transport was laid on to take us to our original ports of call - when enquiring at customer relations desk staff became unpleasant, confrontational and plain dismissive. The weather in La Spezia became so bad that the town got flooded and was closed, making it impossible for the independent passenger to go anywhere. The mooring ropes on the ship broke, resulting in us drifting away from the pier and colliding with another cruise liner. The ship eventually left La Spezia many hours late as the prevailing weather conditions were so bad that it was impossible to leave at the scheduled time or for many hours after, a fact that Celebrity should surely have been aware of. We arrived back in Rome at 3pm – nine hours late. During this time the level of communication from Celebrity was shamefully poor ranging on non existent. When the Captain did eventually come on the public address system to explain the situation, the ships entertainments officer came on the public address system immediately afterwards and repeated word for word exactly what the captain had said, I will leave you to draw your own conclusions on that. Many, many people missed their flights home and as previously stated unless you booked your flight through Celebrity themselves you were on your own with very limited access to wifi to try to get flights re-booked, hotels booked etc. This review has been delayed as we wrote to Celebrity seeking answers twice and twice waited an eternity to receive what resembled in our opinion a “copy and paste job”, notably with spelling mistakes - please do not think me petty but this shows, in my opinion, how little Celebrity think of us, mugs that pay into their profit when the chips are down. We asked why we had effectively been taken into the eye of a viscous storm instead of being sailed out to calmer waters in Spain. Their response was “they acted in the best interests of the passengers and crew” We believe as a group that their main interest was in the money they would have lost had they had to refund the cost of all those pre booked excursions. The response from their customer service team was most unhelpful, refusing to answer many of the issues we raised. In our communications with celebrity we asked that our concerns be passed on to and responded to by a Senior Manager – this request was ignored. We asked about compensation for our lost three days and were told that their senior management team had taken the decision not to pay any customer compensation. In short, they had badly let down their customers and appointed themselves judge and jury on whether compensation would be paid. Is there no independent body that rules whether compensation will be paid, based on a situation like this? Perhaps somebody out there can enlighten me ? Needless to say we will never cruise with Celebrity again. The standard of the food has slipped alarmingly, the entertainment lacks any real imagination or flair. Onboard activities are all about extracting your hard earned cash. However the most unforgivable thing is that they had a clear opportunity to do the right thing in a difficult situation and treat everybody equally not just those who could afford their overpriced tours or had booked their flights and hotels through them, but based on all the evidence to hand, decided instead to chase the dollar and their own corporate interests. Finally and very importantly the shambles that was the disembarkation in Rome, having arrived there so late. Passengers were understandably looking to leave the ship as quickly as possible, many in a last ditch attempt to make their flights home. The organisation from Celebrity was woeful. There was not even a semblance of any kind of crowd control. People were pushing and shoving and multiple different queues were forming. Celebrity placed the blame for the further delay in disembarking, after docking, squarely on the shoulders of the Italian authorities. As passengers continued to wait and wait to disembark, tempers became frayed, but not only among passengers but staff members who were doing such a poor job of organising the disembarkation also started to become rude when asked how much longer the commencement of disembarkation would take. Based on this experience, one could not help but reflect on what might happen if there were a real emergency on board this ship, making the decision never to travel with Celebrity again a very straightforward one. One would imagine that Celebrity held an in depth investigation into the events of last few days of this sailing. Perhaps they should share the lessons learned with all those passengers who lost money and suffered unnecessary stress as a result of their extremely poor handling of the whole situation. It is quite astonishing that so few people have reviewed this debacle of a cruise but maybe after reading this fact based review more people might feel compelled to add their thoughts. Perhaps Celebrity take the view that people live busy lives and the majority of dissatisfied customers never quite find the time to write that critical review? Read Less

This is my 2nd Celebrity Cruise and it may be my last! The communication on the ship following severe weather and hitting another cruise ship was delayed, inconsistent and handled non-professionally by the captain and the officers. The lack of trained personnel to answer questions, to direct to appropriate resources and to effectively and timely offer solutions were non existent. Understanding that we had to miss 2 ports of call due to poor weather, new excursions were not offered, access to free internet was not communicated effectively to make changes to hotels and airlines and a minimal of ship activities were added when a partial sea day was added. After I waited 1 hour for internet access (only 2 computer terminals were available) an officer confiscated the computer I was about to use forcibly and would not let me sign out of my Gmail account. Besides missing the ports of Liverno and Portofino we lost a planned day in Rome upon the completion of the cruise. A scheduled debarkation time of 5 am to Civitavecchia was changed to 2:30 pm. Following the pick-up of our luggage we did not arrive in Rome till 6 pm when all churches and places to visit were closed. We requested compensation(suggested $ towards a future cruise) for the lack of professional and timely customer service, missed planned travel opportunities and the lack of sleep received the last night of the cruise due to officer announcements after midnight and a rattling noise in our stateroom caused by the increased speed of the ship to arrive at our final destination which was denied. What was amazing to us was the Celebrity Public Relations Officer Marie Kirk elaborated on the lack of professionalism of the staff, the inability to calm and comfort the passengers and the insufficient communication of the staff to resolve the issues. She stated the staff would need additional training despite the numerous complaints they had received. Marie requested invoices regarding missed tours and other expenses accrued due to an inability to contact vendors with travel changes and these were denied, too. Is this customer service? Read Less

I really loved the cruise up to the last 3 days! Food was excellent, service was good and the entertainment was good! I sailed with Celebrity to Alaska and I would say everything there was amazing. I expected the same with this cruise! That is why I chose CELEBRITY! I understand there is not much a captain can do on a ship when such bad weather occurs! However, not letting guest know what is going on when they can clearly see that things are not right is not being helpful! We count on you to be honest with us and you let your passengers down by not relaying information for hours and then waking people in the middle of night telling them to get out of bed and stand in blocked hallways to try to get to a customer relations desk ! I was not involved in the chaos, however, we were trying to help friends get off the ship! It was a madhouse! I appreciated and noted the response after the next morning with help for missed flights and hotel accommodations however, would that not have been more helpful to the people to offer that before the madhouse started? I would like to give Celebrity another chance because I loved seeing and cruising the Mediterranean and would like to share these sites with my husband! I hope you learned something about how not to share information quicker, provided internet quicker and to just bite the bullet a little sooner with all the accommodations that you ended up giving just a few hours later than the buses left! This was our 26th cruise, so we speak from experience! We took the 11 night France, Spain, Italy cruise beginning and ending in Rome. The ship is smaller and very well maintained, meaning we were able to visit some of the smaller ports. New was the drink package offered...a third level, cheaper than classic and premium. Apparently only offered in the last few cruises. Not sure if they are being offered fleetwide. They were charging $500 each for the 11 night cruise. We declined this because we would be off the ship so many days...only 2 days at sea. Being elite level captains club members, however, we were given 3 free drinks at any bar on the ship between 5 and 7pm!! Unfortunately, the only problem was gale force winds near the end of the cruise. We were unable to visit the last 2 scheduled ports of call so spent two nights in a more sheltered port...not very calm here either. The gangway was closed several times due to safety issues, and on our last day we broke away from the dock and floated out into the harbours hitting the nearby Costa ship. The captain took great control and a couple of hours later we were pushed by several tugs (working in incredibly choppy waters) back to the dock These storms were all across northern and western Italy. So the Rome port was also closed. We were offered free bus service for the 5 hour drive to Rome airport, so boarded a bus at 230am with the help of many many ship staff. Read Less

To begin with the positives, We enjoyed some parts of the cruise, it was a 11 night cruise and the ports, excursions and dining staff were fantastic. However, our last night we encountered horrible weather and had to dock in La Spezia missing our last two ports. Our ship broke the moorings on the dock and drifted away in the wind causing it to bump into the neighboring ship. Our family was very disappointed that there was no warning before the collision or any information shared with passengers that the ship had broke from the dock. No one was injured but that was just lucky because it could have been a bad collision and notice should be given immediately when that is happening. We then had to leave in the middle of the night by bus to go to Rome. Weather can always occur but we were very disappointed in the lack of communication from the Celebrity officers. Also, we have two small children and one should know that this ship does not have many young family amenities. The indoor pool is adult only and the outdoor pool is not heated so we had no pool to use when it got chilly. There is a kids room upstairs on deck 11. Overall it caters to older adults. Read Less

We are experienced Celebrity cruisers and have sailed with them many times. We chose this itinery because of the ports that were scheduled to be visited by the Constellation. The ship is a Millennium class ship and we have sailed on it twice before. Embarkation was relatively straightforward in Civitavecchia, and because of the time we arrived at, around lunchtime, we got to our balcony cabin room straight away. We decided to have lunch at pool grill, and this is where the hard sell started with the waiter asking up our dining arrangements for the evening and offering 30% discount on speciality dining for the night. After politely declining the offer he further stated that we could take the offer any night. Talk about persistence. We still said no! This was the start of the hard sell, which even continued at Muster drill that same afternoon with the Excursions Manager talking about trips at a safety drill. This theme continued throughout the cruise with speciality restaurants, drinks packages, spa deals etc. all being pushed by crew members. I know that this part of their jobs, but in recent years on Celebrity we have noticed a bigger ‘push’ on this which is most disconcerting. On saying all of this the staff we encountered were friendly, and the service on the whole was of a good standard. The food in the main dining room was overall good fare, where we had fixed seating dinning and nice table of like-minded regular cruisers. We were well looked after by our table waiter team of Opong and Roman. However I must mention the Ocean view café where the food was a ‘hit or miss ’. Also the layout of the café and food stations does not lend itself to enjoyable eating experience, and hopefully this is something that celebrity will address in the ‘make over’ of the ship in 2020. Entertainment overall was of a good standard with the theatre headliners being of particularly good on the first week with Jayne Curry and December 63(Four seasons tribute act) being the standout acts. We only saw one ship’s production show based on rock songs which was average. We also did our first silent disco (twice) which was a good laugh and a lot of fun. One other observation about the early evening shows that we attended I have never seen the theatre as busy for these shows –so fair dues to Celebrity for getting some good quality headliners! We did not participate in any of the ships official shore excursions as we do not normally do this preferring our own independent travels. Celebrity seem to have put premium prices on these excursions now and additionally transporting guests from ship to shore or town centre. This was particular in evidence when we docked in Toulon. Here the ship berthed in some 10 Kilometres from the town centre in La Sayne sur Mer. Celebrity informed passengers that for 20 Dollars per person there would be return boat shuttles next to where the ship was docked. Celebrity did mention that local public transport was available,’ but may not be reliable or consistent’. However, what they omitted to say was that you could walk 10 Mins to the local public shuttle boat pier and get ferry therefor 2 Euros to Toulon centre. The boat here went every half hour and you could clearly see the stop from the ship. I suggest anyone going to this port check with tourist information right off the ship and they will explain all. I will state cabin comments and port comments below, however the biggest event of this cruise was the weather we encountered on the last 2 days. On the second last day we were scheduled to go to Portofino, but because of the storms that were forecast in North Italy we headed for La Spezia instead. This was a more sheltered port and everyone knew why we were going there. However while docked our moorings broke free and we bumped into a Costa ship behind. The ship dropped anchor and with the assistance of up to 3 tugs the captain managed to stabilize the situation. There have been a few posts about this and video on you tube. Personally I think that this was an unfortunate accident and the Captain and the crew actually worked remarkably hard and saved the situation very quickly. We were due to set sail about mid- afternoon to return to Civitavecchia overnight to end the cruise. However this did not happen as the winds had not subsided enough for us to set sell. Eventually an announcement was made about 10.30pm to say that those who wanted to leave the ship for flights the following morning at Rome airport, then they could leave with luggage now! Celebrity had laid on courtesy buses and trip was going last about 5 Hours. We took this option and departed the ship with many others. Again, there have been many other posts about this and my only comment was the lack of communication on this day in La Spezia and also the lack of organisation going off the ship to buses. I think someone else has posted that the theatre could have been used to keep people together until buses were ready. This would have helped ease the anxiety some people were obviously going through. We travelled on bus overnight through some atrocious weather and I have to praise our bus driver who had to do his best with some distraught travellers looking for comfort breaks. He did accommodate all requests, and got us to the airport with plenty of time for early morning departures. All in all it was a nice cruise, with wonderful weather, on the whole. Pity about end! My impressions about Celebrity now having cruised with then for over 10 years is that I will probably still go again with them, but although they are embracing change ,and maybe looking at getting new younger customers, they should not forget the regular maturing or middle age customers who generally fill these ships. Ports of call – Ajaccio- Nice port to walk around. We had been there before and had taken Hop on /off bus previously. Malaga- We did hop on /off bus which is just outside port. Visited Alcazaba de Malaga historical buildings and walked along sea front. All very easy. Nice place to spend day. You can get train along Costa del Sol very easily from here at train station- about half hour walk from ship or short taxi ride. Cadiz- Most people went to Seville or Jerez . We walked round the perimeter of old town and explored the city centre shops. Take a map, as the streets are narrow and it helps. Gibraltar- Ship docks close to own centre and easy walk to all the shops. We picked up good bargains on spirits and tobacco here. Sete – Nice surprise in this port. Free shuttle to port gate and then walk into town centre in 5 Mins. Lovely canals and walks. We walked up the hill that dominates town Mont-St Clair. It took us about 45 Mins –I hour, but well worth views of the town and surrounding country and coast. A local bus also runs to the top. Check with tourist office (at port gate) for this as well. Toulon- We took local public transport boat to town centre past the French naval centre across bay. The weather restricted our visit here but, walked around lively market in town centre. Suggest anyone visiting here visit other places in region as did not think there was a lot to see or do. La Spezia – Just a quick walk around Marina because of weather. Again jumping off place for assorted trips. Read Less

It's either a drinks package or it isn't, & it isn't. A rip off. Horrendous loud screaming music in the buffet restaurant - turn it OFF! This is not a pleasant dining experience. Gratuities do not get any mention or prominence in the glossy brochures other than in the very small print terms & conditions. Celebrity, why are you deliberately concealing these charges from your customers? Put them up front in your brochures. On Select Dining why are large groups able to advance pre-book tables at the same time each evening resulting in denied access to others until after 8.00pm. They should be allocated to Fixed Dining. Have always wanted to do a cruise to Israel and this one gave us 3 days to explore. took the Celebrity transfer from the airport to the port, bus was old and a bit hot and stuffy. Did not like the port of Civitaveccihia, embarkation was in a tent. Your passport is taken away and given back to you on board when you need it for any excursions you have booked. It is a security requirement by Israel. You are also interviewed individually by security people from Israel at a designated time on board the ship before your stop at Ashdod. Whilst the ship is older it does have a quiet elegance about it and the staff were attentive and polite. Like dining at the Blu restaurant which is only for the use of Aqua Class. The entertainment is a bit stale and predictable. The cabin layout makes it feel larger than other ships we have been on and the balcony is much larger but the noise from above and below does not make it relaxing or enjoyable. Read Less

Chose this primarily because of the time in Israel and Greece. Celebrity have chosen to put an outside movie theatre at the rear of the ship on deck 12 (More of a "terrace than a deck really) which has a negative impact on all the rear- facing 11th floor cabins, especially 1140. Israel was not as good as I had hoped - the crowds are really bad - and we went when things were "quiet". By really bad I mean I have never been that close to anyone with my clothes still on before - and hope never to do so again. Really liked Haifa/Acre though. Pompeii (Naples) was the highlight of the trip for me. Many of the shore excursions seemed "rushed" - we only went on Celebrity excursions, and we were being constantly hassled to move without adequate time to look around or soak in the experience. Entertainment was the typical lackluster/tired experience one expects from Celebrity, the only exception being Jayne Curry who has a powerful voice and stage presence. The itinerary was great - so good we may do it again, but next time I would go on private excursions as did a lot of others on our cruise... Read Less

We are a Canadian couple in our early 50's have done both cruising and all inclusive packages. This was our 20th cruise and 2nd with Celebrity. ( some back ground details so you understand this was not our first experience at travel.) We had chosen Celebrity as this was our second European journey with Celebrity. Love the size of the ships and the itineraries. We also landed a few perks that were nice incentives as well. Embarkation was smooth and quick in Venice. We did stay at an Airbnb for 3 days prior to tour around. Water taxis are easy to negotiate in Venice. Purchase a multi day pass and explore on and off. We water taxied from the airport to our Airbnb. Easy peasy. Just research in advance. We were on the ship in 20 mins of arrival at the port. Smooth, checked in and eating our lunch on board at 12:30 cabins were ready at 1:30 luggage at room by 2:30pm Muster drill at 3:45ish then off to the races for 10 amazing days. The ship is wonderful. My only complaint. Not even a complaint more of an observation was the main piazza. It really did not exist like in most ships there is a vast opening from the 3rd floor all the way up to the 7th. Seats all around so you can ppl watch and listen to entertainment. As this is an older ship the design, it is quint and areas are choppy. Like I said an observation and unique. Not a disappointment. The staff were friendly and polite at all times. They are hard working people miles away from their families for months on end to ensure that we as passengers have a pleasurable experience. I often get to know our waiters, they have wonderful stories. Food was excellent. Bar service never an issue. The Classic booze package was just perfect. House wines wonderful, from Tuscany, Chili, South Africa to name a few. Did not feel the pressure to upsell at all. Spirits were plentiful and mid range. Really unless you are a alcohol expert Classic is perfect. Cabin was well appointed. Balcony was perfect size, room steward was tentative. Our ports. 1. Koper Slovenia: itself is very small, so an hour or so is likely to be enough time to stroll then head out and explore. Ships dock opposite a lift which takes you up to town level. You can also walk its about 6mins. We took the public from Koper to Piran which is a really pretty town a little along the coast and the drive there and back has some scenery too. Regular city buses and inexpensive. Travel every 30 mins to and from Piran is a must. Go to the info centre and we booked a 7 Euro per person walking tour for 90 mins. It was excellent. Such a beautiful spot and have the narrative along the way was exceptional. Eat at a seaside restaurant. Excellent seafood. 2. Zadar Croatia: Free shuttle from the ship to town. Bus lets you off at the boardwalk first hit the The Sea Organs (http://vinovo.magnify.net/video/ZADAR-Morske-orgulje-Sea-Orga) Then continue on the board walk into old town. Explore I suggest you stay in the old part of the town, sit in a caffees, do some people watching, than change a spot and do the same. The church St. Donat and the treasury chamber are worth the visit inside, other than that Zadar is more an experience of strolling through the streets (like ST. Paul de Vence near Nice or Aix a Provance near Marsellies if you are familiar). 3. Dubrovnik Croatia. Having stayed there 6 yrs ago did not want to visit old town. That is amazing and walk to the bus terminal which is adjacent to the cruise terminal and busses travel to and from old town for cheap. .The ship charges 5 xs the cost for the same thing. We opted to visit sea-side town of Cavtat. Not a long bus ride but what a beautiful town. We just strolled along the waterside that borders the town. Swam in the Adriatic. 5 areas to sun yourself on a pier. rent chairs and relax for a couple of hours. A lot of nice café’s and places to sit as you walk. Hiking / walking paths easily marked worth strolling. What a great day and a must see this town. A ferry ride back to Dubrovnik or the bus. we opted for the bus as it brought us back to the terminal next to the ship. You can take Libertas #10 from the Gruz Harbor directly to Cavtat. Bus cost is 25 Kuna per person, no foreign currency. Take the small boat back to the old town, 4.Kotor Montenegro. Wake up early and watch the sights pulling into the harbor.Bay of Kotor surrounded by steep, mountains lined with historic buildings, churches, towers, docks, and marinas along the shore. It’s onthe list of the 25 most beautiful bays in the world. We tendered and walked the stairs 430 up the side of the mountain. The views amazing. Arrive early and do this. the hike up is aprox 50 mins. Not for the faint of heart. Bring water. The walk down was good but started to get crowed by fellow tourists. Spend the rest of the day in Old town getting lost in the streets and enjoy an Aperol Sprits and seafood. 5. Sea day..need I say more. Sleep in and enjoy the amenities of the ship. Message special at the spa for this day. FYI. Book it the evening before they promo that on the ship. 6 & 7. Malta Valetta. 2 days. purchase the hop on hop off pass for 2 days. 32.00 usa and it is charged to your room by the ship. Excellent cheap way to see the Island. We did the red line one day and the blue line the next. Spent time in the old town. they have 2 for 1 dinks on the main street. 2 aperol spritz for the price of one. Good way to finish an afternoon. We swam in the Mediterranean at the Grotto. 8. Sicily - Sircusa ( did not stop in Catania Italy due to berth availability.) Sircusa was an amazing surprise. Tender to the Island. Walk to the right. find the market what a great experience. The market with the local produce, spices, cheeses and the vibe of the shop keepers. Stoll old town and have a lunch. Walk the marina. Impressive yachts. 9. Naples. Having been before we opted for the Fast ferry to Capri. Beautiful, stunning and totally worth the 40min Ferry ride. Ferry from Naples to Capri departs at 8:35 / 9:10 Purchase at the ferry. Once on Capri immediately purchase ticket for Naples ( fills up fast) Capri harbour a taxi or trolly up to the town for glorious views - especially dizzying vertical views waaaaay down to sea- level from viewpoints on the edge of town. Capri there are a number of little restaurants and shops right by the docks Don't buy the ticket online ahead of time. When you get off the ship just go to the left and you can buy your ticket. Check the schedules though as you may not want a round trip with the ferry company. Some are faster then others. If you aren't going round trip with the same company just buy your ticket in Capri right there when you get there and you are set for your return. Be sure to do the chair lift, the views are amazing!!!!!!. We hiked the Arco Nature walk. totally worth the view. took us 25 mins of meandering through small walk ways with surprising views around each corner. Away from the crowds. It was fabulous. We had a great sea view lunch then back to the ship on the 2:50 Ferry gave us time to relax on the ship. 10. Rome. Having been before. Unfortunately high tailed it to the airport. aprox 50 mins from the port. Pre arrange a driver. Fellow travellers are congested at this port trying to arrange for transportation. If you choose to do Rome for a few days. It is a must. Book and Airbnb. Book tours through Viator. and take in the sights and food you will not be disappointed. This was an amazing journey. My apologies if this seemed long winded. These reviews do help me with journaling my travels. I found these tips to be of help for me while doing my research. I hope this will be of benefit to others. Celebrity will not disappoint. Bon voyage. Ciao Safe travels. Read Less

We were pleasantly surprised by the upgrade fairy at check-in moving us from an OV to a Veranda. This was our tenth cruise on an M-class ship and our fourth on Connie. As with most Celebrity crews, the hotel officers were visible and approachable throughout the ship, particularly in the evenings. The ship itself is in very good condition considering it has been at sea for 17 years. We are looking forward to the Edgification of the M-class ships as some of the furnishings are showing their age. With the exception of our room steward who needed reminders occasionally, we found the remainder of the crew excellent, particularly Santosa and his team in the MDR. We felt the food was very good and delivered hot each and every time. The menu selections were broad and tasty. Embarkation in Venice was a breeze. We disembarked at the older terminal (tent structure) in Civitavecchia and found it sufficient. Porters were readily available. We particular enjoy the entertainment on Celebrity and found both the cast shows and single entertainers very good. (This is one of the reasons we prefer X over HAL.) Read Less
