We chose Celebrity as we preferred not to have the very formal nights that some ships have. We also loved the itinerary and we were not disappointed. We will definitely sail with Celebrity again in the future. The food and service from the food and beverage teams could not be faulted. The staff in the San Marco restaurant were amazing and could not have done any more for us. The food and drink everywhere we went on the ship was faultless. The size of Constellation for us was ideal. We have cruised on larger and smaller ships but we now realise that this is our preferred size. We also loved the fact that aside from the buffet (which is to be expected), at no point did we feel that the ship was crowded. There was never an issue with sunbeds even on sea days and there is space if you do not want to be too close to others. The ship is a little old and this is noteable in places, particularly in the cabins but this did not put us off and the cruise was good value. The downsides that I would say are that the linen and towels in the cabin were worn and that is something that should be addressed. The linen was also not changed as frequently as we would have liked but if we asked then of course it was no problem. I don't know if this is an area where Celebrity are trying to cut costs. We had the Classic drinks package included and for us this was invaluable. I did also upgrade to Premium as I wanted to ensure we didn't have only a small selection of wines to choose from. In fact, wines were good but they did not have any of those on the lists and no French wine so I don't think this was worth it. We did drink the more expensive spirits as we could but could easily have stuck with the Classic package. We loved the coffee bar and this is something we have not seen on other ships we've been on. It was great to be able to go after dinner and have coffee and/or drinks and a nice cookie. Many nights, we did a takeaway and this was great too. All included in the Classic package. We did a couple of tours from the ship which were not great for different reasons but I think some of this was outside the control of Celebrity. My final point where I think Celebrity could improve is their communication. I was disappointed to find that whilst in Hong Kong you could see the new year fireworks from the ship and if we had known this we would most certainly have returned to the ship instead we hung around in town to watch. I also feel that it is a missed opportunity for the Captain not to communicate a little more to the passengers regarding what is going on when leaving port etc. There were no sail away parties which is unusual and there was not even an announcement to say we were leaving. On sailing into Singapore for example it would have been nice if there was a little information given. I sailed into New York on Cunard and it was so interesting having the sights pointed out and knowing when the pilot got on the ship, what was happening etc. but maybe this is just me. That said any negatives were most definitely outweighed by the positives. A great trip! Read Less

Chose cruise because of itinerary and previous pleasant experience with Celebrity. On a positive note - nice cabin, excellent steward and friendly, helpful crew with the exception of shore excursion staff. However from the moment of boarding, incessant pressure to upgrade. Pestered to take out drinks package. If you have drinks package, pressure to upgrade to premium package. Constant pressure to upgrade dining package. Smoothie for breakfast? - $10 please! Mundane activities in daily programme - cycling in gym **Fee applies. Yoga class**Fee applies etc.etc Outrageous prices of drinks, internet and shore excursions. Shore excursion staff snotty and so far up their own backsides. Unhelpful to the point of being obstructive if not taking their tour. Little or no provision for independent travellers wanting to do their own thing ashore - scant interest/help/direction/maps on ports of call. Several so called city dockings in Vietnam and Thailand actually up to 3 hours travel from city with docking at an obscure cargo terminal with minimal onshore facilities - presumably Celebrity saving on docking fees and increasing pressure to use their shore excursions. Food choice repetitive. Meat and fish invariably overcooked and dry. Culinary highlights poached eggs, water melon and ice cream! Overall ship's appearance OK but a little tatty in some areas with tired/worn upholstery Comfortable recliners on sun decks. My second, and last, cruise with Celebrity Read Less

Liked the itinerary. Best food seemed to be in Blu or Oceanview. The burger in grill by pool is absolutely the worst thing ever!!! Really, Celebrity, how do you mess up a burger so bad??? MDR food was not good. Connie is clean and service in cabin was great. Our cabin, Aqua on deck 9 was quiet and kept spotless. We love Celebrity but prefer the S class ships and can’t wait to try Apex next year. Enjoyed all the excursions. Great tour guides. Booked all our excursions thru X. Caught a bad cold mid cruise and attendant was very nice about seeing I had everything I need when I stayed in cabin all day on a sea day to recover. Public areas are lovely. Always love Bacio. While staff very friendly and helpful. All in All we enjoyed the cruise but prefer the S class ships. Met so many nice people from all over the world. Read Less

We choose this cruise for the itinerary and it was as good as expected. We enjoyed each port, knowing ahead of time that some were underdeveloped and far away from the city. We did mostly private tours as the ship's appeared limited for more money. The staff were hit and miss. Some, like our waiter in the dining room (Sofyan) and our cabin steward (sorry but name is eluding me), were consistently excellent while others appeared to not know or care we were present. A repeat example was getting any service in the wine room. The food got better as the cruise progressed but repetitive. It was mostly enjoyable but we limited ourselves to the dining room after two painful experiences in the buffet. It was a surprise to us to not have other options, like we enjoy on NCL cruises, unless you were high paying customers. The entertainment was sad and short, about 30-40 minutes. The most enjoyable was the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. The cabin was fine and had lots of storage. It was kept very clean by our steward. The deck was clearly painted multiple times as flakes came off by touching the railing but we did enjoy our time outside each evening. I was truly disgusted by the towels and wash cloths. They were stained and grey/brown instead of the intended white. I understand some adjustments for an older ship but there's no excuse for dirty. This was our first cruise on Celebrity. Our fellow passengers, who were a delight, assured us this is not typical and that we should try another ship. I'd be very reluctant to do so unless it was a fantastic itinerary but I will miss the excellent repeat cruisers we met and enjoyed. Read Less

Booked this cruise for the exciting sounding itinerary. Singapore, Bangkok, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Shanghai. The ship is nearly 20 years old, but in fair condition, and has charm. It was easy to get around, with good lifts, and never felt overcrowded. The Cabin an Outside was a good size and clean and tidy, it had everything we needed but the Linens and towels were old and badly need replacing. From the moment we boarded the Ship, Celebrity went into Up sell mode, Internet prices were extortionate, and the onboard shops sold nothing but high end goods such as very expensive watches like Rolex. Nothing useful like toiletries or sweets such as mints. We found the entertainment to be mixed some very good and some diabolical. Excursions - Many of the ports, were in fact container ports, miles from anywhere and unsafe to get off for a stroll. This required excursions to be booked but so much time was involved traveling to and from, we felt cheated that we had been unable to enjoy the destinations and the guides would add in stops to factories that sold goods such as high end jewllry in the hope of gaining commission on sales when we really would have enjoyed more time at the destination. Food and Beverage We found the main restaurants food to be good but towards the end of the cruise was stuggling to choose as the meals felt a bit samey. The service however was excellent. The Buffet restaurant had lots of choice and was always well stocked, we liked the fact that hand sanitasion was encouraged, and that the staff kept everywhere clean and tidy. We had a Beverage package, but unless you are a massive drinker, they are poor value. On sea days there was not enough entertainment on offer, with some of the Lectures and Fitness classes requiring to be paid for. So unless the sun is shining, you may be bored! We found all the staff to be excellent, but overall we were disappointed in this cruise It just did not deliver on any level apart from Staff.and we have done a few cruises from basic to Luxury. This has to be the only one that did not come up to expectations for the price paid. Read Less

We chose this cruise as the weather in the Indian ocean is good at this time of year and the ports of call were new to us. Never having sailed on celebrity before, we had high expectations as it was not a large ship and entertainment reviews were good. The entertainment was good , as were the helpful cheerful crew, however we were disappointed with the food choice in both the main dining and buffet restaurants - not enough variation . We ended up eating similar meals several evenings. Also lacking is a ship laundry room , you are not permitted to take on travel irons and would have to use their laundry service ( pricey). The drinks packages are extortionate ( unless you want to spend all day and night in the bar drinking ). We didn't have a package but bought as we wanted , and staff in bars and restaurants are obviously instructed to push the drinks packages as we were soon tired of being pestered - similarly pestered to have photos taken , and to eat in the very expensive select restaurants. On many other ships we have cruised , there have been destination information talks and often maps provided or the local port areas. Not with Celebrity , it was a destination talk only about their shore excursions , so if you don't want those make sure you do your homework before leaving home. My last gripe was half a deck of the ship that housed shops selling all the usual upmarket clothing and watches + art auctions, but not essential items that may be needed on a 2 week cruise like toothpaste ! We did enjoy our holiday ( but it could have been better). Next time I'll know what to expect on a Celebrity cruise - and choose another line. Read Less

We liked the itinerary of this cruise and although we hadn't been with Celebrity Cruises before we thought we would give them a try. Abu Dhabu, Dubai and Muscat were such rich countries with new buildings and then there was Mumbai, Goa and Cochin, so dirty and poor! Columbo in Sri Lanka, Phuket and of course Singpore were all fantastic in their own way too. People thought the ship was old, but we thought it was lovely. There was the usual queue to embark, but there generally is, so no change there. The food was excellent and we had a super waiter. Our cabin was kept very clean by our steward and it was no problem for him to solve any of our problems, of which there weren't many. The shows in the evening were excellent and the Cruise Directer was too, he was so entertaining and had plenty to say without being over the top. We had booked plenty of Shore excursions and they were all excellent and we were able to understand what the couriers were saying, which is in fact very important. We had excellent speakers too, when we had sea days. All in all, fabulous. Wifi was rather pricey, so we went without! Read Less

We booked this cruise for the exciting itinerary. We were concerned after reading some previous reviews that the ship would disappoint. We kept out expectations realistic and were very pleasantly surprised. We loved the layout of the ship. We have been on 10 cruises and we prefer the older style ships as we feel they offer more space and a lovely relaxed feel. The food was very good at all the restaurants. Although we had access to Blu with our cabin class we chose to dine at San Marco every night with the rest of our family and loved the atmosphere and food quality. We enjoyed the shows and the variety of entertainment and we loved the outdoor cinema. We were very happy with our cabins and found the storage to be more then other ships. The crew were fantastic! Its amazing how they turn up each day with so much enthusiasm and energy for their jobs. Well done to Celebrity for creating, from what we could see, a strong crew morale. Our recommendations would be to keep your expectations realistic and you'll probably be pleasantly surprised. How could we complain over spending two weeks being totally waited on and entertained? Service generally way off cekebrity standards except in Blu - food and service there was excellent. Wi-Fi improved but still intermittent. Excursions so so. Local providers much better and cheaper. Prices for everything on the ship extortionate. Fitness facilities on the ship were very good and the Buffet selection on food was excellent The food and service in the Suite restaurant Luminae we're both terrible and certainly not worth the premium do you have to pay to be in a suite We took shore excursions run by the ship in five of the ports and again, they were very mediocre and not close to offering value for money. In one case for example, the excursion started at 1 pm and the first stop was a fish market which had just closed . In another port because only one exit to the dark from the ship was open it took over 20 minutes just a disembark All in all we were not impressed by the ship or the service and value we received Read Less

We have cruised with Royal Caribbean in the past, but decided to try Celebrity this time. We were not disappointed. From start to finish, we were delighted with every aspect. From staff, catering, entertainment ports of call and customer service, we finished our experience on a high and can’t wait to book our next one with Celebrity. Having a proper coffee lounge was a huge plus for us which gave us the chance to catch up with fellow travellers in a relaxed atmosphere whilst enjoying proper coffee. Our Cruise Director Steve was just the perfect “host”, making everyone feel speacial at all times. He was visible at all the important times and had such a warm and engaging way with guests. We also thoroughly enjoyed the guest speakers on our trip. Very entertaining and interesting. A real bonus for us. We are now seriously looking to book our next adventure with Celebrity. Read Less
