My husband and I chose this cruise because we had never been to Bermuda and the price was right, both airfare and cruise. We paid for transfers on the inbound and that was a bit unorganized. We were met with a princess person, told to sit and waited about 45 minutes. The terminal had long lines but they moved very quickly. Disembarkation was chaotic. So many folks decided to walk off, (we did because we had booked a flight at noon). The space was not large enough. People were waiting with loads of luggage, yes golf clubs as well as huge bags and wheelchair passengers too. There was even a ruckus between passengers and security had to be called. Once we got off the ship it was quick and easy. We caught a cab and made our flight in plenty of time. The cruise company does such a good job moving luggage and special needs passengers, I don't understand all the walk offs. They used facial recognition so we didn't even show our passports. Literally took 5 minutes. Our balcony cabin was ship shape. Loved the new colors and plenty of storage. Loved the glass showers. The gave us full size lotion which I appreciated. Our steward Jayesh was timely and we never wanted. Did not feel the need to upgrade. Dining room was very nice with lots of 2 tops. The best food in the Oceanview cafe is at the very back where they had 3 different types of grills going for fresh food. We ate at Sushi on 5 twice as it was a calm haven. We found the entertainment to be very good and always found a seat. The bartenders around the pools worked very hard, especially making all those frozen drinks. Their service was quick, professional and fun. I had a very good treatment at the canyon spa. I wish their sitting area was more welcoming. It seems like an afterthought. It is at the entrance to the fitness area. We had one little blurp with a door banging above our cabin in the womans dressing area. The seas were a bit chippy and we heard it the first night. I went and found the problem and brought it to the attention of the girl who was servicing the area. She took care of it and we never heard it again. i liked that we did not have to go through guest services and maintenance,that the first person we talked to took care of it. The dockyard has lots of cute shops and a wonderful fort and museum. it is worth the $. We took the ferry $4.50 vs cabs which were outrageous. Hired a guide Millard Lightbourne for one day and had the very best tour of the whole island. It is a set price, $50.00 an hr. the vehicle could hold 6 persons and was clean and comfortable. We felt we really got a feel of this beautiful island. Read Less

We go to Bermuda almost every year on the Summit. This year we took a suite. It is not worth the extra money. You had to look for the BUTLER very nice man but useless. Now for the worse part. The bath rooms are very dangerous. The tub is to high, no Bar as you get into the tub. You have to reach around a glass partition to grab the vertical shower holder. No floor mat in tub they have this small built in bedded in the floor of the shower. If you the ship moves a little fast and you slip you are a goner. The soap are in big bottles low in the tub so you must have to hold them with two hands . Very dangerous unless you are in port. The light overhead in the bathroom are to low to do a wet shave. Next item, if you want to read the bed side lamps are below the mattress. Try reading that way. With all said a done the entertainment was first class. The people in the retreat lounge were great. The only thing i would suggest until they fix the problems in the bathrooms in S1 category and unless you are under years young I would pass. We are booked next year for the day Bermuda cruise in Aqua class. Read Less

I choose this ship because of the Itinerary. 3 days in Bermuda. The ship has been completely refurbished and not too big and easy to get around. And there were not many children. Food was fabulous. Tried all restaurants and my favorite is the Tuscan. I would highly recommend this for couples, singles and groups. I would not recommend this cruise for children. There is a children's club but not much else to do for them. Being in a suite level was really nice. You have your own suite restaurant, Retreat Lounge and Retreat Deck. We used these areas a lot. Service was great and staff were mostly very friendly. Our favorites are: Alexandra in the Retreat Lounge. Also David and Boom Boom in the Martini Bar. Rhiannon our Retreat Concierge. Carlos, our Butler. Silas, the bartender in the Retreat Lounge. It was a pleasant experience and I would highly recommend this ship for Bermuda. Read Less

Have cruised with Celebrity numerous times with multiple cruises on the Summit. Over the years we have grown to enjoy the size and style of the Summit, and itineraries suit our likes, as this is our first cruise following the Dry Dock I thought I'd review the cruise. Despite our multiple cruises on this ship this was the first time we left from Cape Liberty Cruise Port. Not the best experience, only two lines/metal detectors for non-suite guests, checking in took at least 45 minutes to an hour, the slowest we have ever experienced. Luckily the rooms were immediately ready so we were able to ditch our bags and have a pleasant if somewhat crowded lunch in the Ocean View Cafe. We found most of the significant changes to involve the cabin (I will describe below) and in the Ocean view cafe. The Cafe located on deck 10 aft of the pool used to have a mostly linear configuration. This has now been changed to one of multiple stations with lots of empty space, allowing for an easier flow of passengers feeling less crowded. Most of the stations were similar and or the same to pre retrofit. A new bakery station featured wonderful freshly baked breads and pastry, super fresh and tasty bread sliced per order, with different breads featured daily! We generally like the Indian and Asian selections, as well as the carving station, and cold salads. All remained excellent. A fromagerie was added featuring a nice selection of cheeses. Breakfast remained the same always tasty and rapid. One great idea was the addition of sinks allowing diners to wash their hands (though most do not!). One new station is a make your own Cesar salad station. Problem is it relies on a mixing bowel that is used over and over by passengers, not the most hygienic concept. Moving aft there were changes at the sunset bar that were not to our liking. The canvas ceiling was removed and replaced with wooden slats that do not protect from rain or sun. All the nice wood and brass at the bar was replaced with Formica and veneer, quite cheap looking. Midships the library, i cafe, and other spaces were removed and replaced with more inside rooms. I cafe not located next to guest services is quite small with a markedly decreased number of computers going to be a problem when we need to print boarding passes. We mostly have our dinners in the MDR/ Cosmopolitan restaurant, fixed seating late. There were cosmetic changes to the dining room. The central columns are now white glass like structures instead of wood. Glass railing on upper floor is now frosted. New chairs and carpet. UNFORTUNATELY the menu has not changed in over a decade and is becoming boring and tired. Many of the dishes are presented like and taste like diner food, nothing elevated. The waitstaff however remain excellent and competent and are becoming unable to sell the menu on any given night. An extensive and great wine list which far exceeds the level of the food.As always the Martini bar was a great place for drinks before dinner, great selection of liquors and fun competent bartenders. production shows in the theatre were new (at least to us) and were very good. Guest acts were also very good. Too much use of DJ's at the pool both during the day and at the pool parties. Need to get some fun Caribbean bands back. Overall the service in all venues remains terrific and competent and it is the people and service that make for a great cruise. One port on this trip 2.5 days in Bermuda a beautiful island. We bought a transportation pass and went to the beach and town on our own. An easy island to negotiate. Beautiful horseshoe beach. Ferry rides to Hamilton and St. George are fun, and the towns offer excellent shopping, dining, and history/architecture. Tuscan Gril was marvelous with great food and service. Read Less

This was our seventh cruise. Five causes were on rye Carnival, and our sixth cruise was on the Celebrity Equinox to the ABC islands. The experience on the cruise ship on Equinox was so beautiful I didn't hesitate to book this cruise. I loved the idea of going to Bermuda and being for three days and two nights. This ship is beautiful; we had one f the new staterooms on Aqua class on deck 10. We were centrally located, had the most attentive service from our steward. Every crew member as amazing, The entertainment was incredible, the Blu restaurant was delicious, and the service was incredible. I can't say enough about this ship or cruise line. We booked a private tour of the island then we went on a ship excursion called Harbor Nights which was excellent. My only complaint was disembarkment, it was confusing and very crowded. Many of the passengers were from the Philadelphia area, New York City or New Jersey area and they chose to do the walk out. The ship never had people sign up and they have to scramble to open up a second exit. They did and solved the problem. Once was handled it went smoothly. The other problem was porter services at the terminal. Maybe they could have guest sign up for that before they leave the ship so people don't cut in front of you to get the help they need. We waited over twenty minutes before we left and struggled with our suitcases ourselves. Also guest services could be trained in what is available at the terminal so they could answer questions. The new app was helpful but caused problems with the one on the phone that may need to be tweaked and no on announced the time change when we returned, ship time was not adjusted... So that made it confusung, . We had to call guest services to he the correct time., Read Less

First, the thermostat in our room never worked and was “repaired” 3 times. But food was the real problem. The cafeteria food was universally greasy, except personal omelets by Don Hyndryx. The restaurant was unable to serve the meager choices on its own menu. I ordered roasted pork loin and was served ham, and salad Nicoise with “French onion Dijon” dressing was served with the usual choices of ranch, Italian and thousand island. Neither the chef nor customer service was responsive to dissatisfaction. Also whenever I asked about fat free dressings in restaurant or dining room someone would point to one of the regular dressings and proclaim it fat free. I did get excellent service from Somalier Josip, though. They redecorated the ship recently and stateroom was adequate if the thermostat had worked. The new sinks and showers don’t drain well, but room staff Kate was attentive and very friendly. Pools were too small to swim and had unbelievably loud drains that chased me right out. I was on an Olivia Cruise, so all the entertainment was great. Read Less

I just went on a Celebrity Summit cruise and the bathroom had a really smelly sewage smell. We were shown several rooms that also had that same smell. The room attendant said that the pipes needed to be fixed. I also experienced the same smell in one of the whirlpools. The food in the buffet made me really sick, maybe that’s because the chefs do not wear any gloves when they prepare the food. I watched a chef make a pizza without using gloves. I had to run to the bathroom every half hour everyday until I stopped eating from the buffet. The only other food selection that I was given without a cost was the Cosmopolitan restaurant which offered different food than what I was used to because I like eating more vegetables. The basketball court needs to be updated because the rim is leaning. The only things I liked was the massage, the Solarium and the comfortable bed. Read Less

Pre-cruise: We stayed two nights at the Embassy Suites, San Juan Hotel & Casino. We were very pleased with our stay at the hotel. The pool is beautiful. The free breakfast was ok, and we enjoyed the free “happy hour” in the evening. Embarkation: Went very smoothly. The Ship: We found that the refurbishment has been very successful. Among other things, we liked the lighter colors of both the Rendezvous Lounge and the Main Dining Room. But unfortunately, we were not satisfied with the comfort to sit in the sofas in the Rendezvous. We liked the new design and furnishing of the Oceanview Cafè, but hink the outdoor section of the Cafè/The Sunset Bar should have more shade for the sun. Moreover: We appreciated that we now could put our carry on baggage in the cabin once we got on board, before the cleaning was finished, and before we went to lunch. We were pleased that the indoor Thalassotherapy Pool was kept after the refurbishment. . Cabin info: We had two Concierge balcony cabins on deck 8. We think Celebrity have done a great job with the total renovation of the cabins. And we were really impressed with the new bathroom. We had two different cabin attendants for our two cabins. The attendant for cabin no. 8150 did an ok job regarding the cleaning of the cabin. But we had to ask him for the Concierge bottle of sparkling wine, and we were not presented with the pillow menu. Dining: We had the second seating on deck 5 in the MDR. We four family members were mostly pleased with the quality of the food we selected, and we were all very satisfied with the service we received on our table no. 506 from Waiter, Moe, Assistant Waiter, Restiari and the Sommelier, Josip! The waitress who was responsible for bottled water, soft drinks, beer and drinks in our section of the MDR, also did a very good job! The maître was very visible. We had all our breakfasts in the Oceanview Café, and also lunches, if we got back on time, after being ashore. In contrast to our cruise with Constellation last fall, we had this time no difficulties in finding an unoccupied table. We were pleased with the food selection. But unfortunately, we were not satisfied with the clearing of tables. Especially clearing of tables in the outside part of the Oceanview, was very slow. In our opinion, it was due to poor management in the Café. We enjoyed Café al Bacio and its wide menu of coffee and teas, and with its nice waiter service. Bars: The service in the bars were mostly good. Our favorite hang-out bar/lounge, was also on this cruise the Rendezvous. Entertainment: With the exception of the group, Up Town, who performed in the Theater with Motown Music, and what we think in an excellent way – we found the two production shows to be quite ordinary. Unfortunately, we think some of the live music in the Rendezvous, was too noisy. The Captain’s Club Society: We are Elite Members, but we never attended the Elite Cocktail Hour, so we can't give any comment on that event. The Voyage: The 5 ports of call were all great. Internet: We were very dissatisfied with internet on board! Especially in the morning and evening the speed was very slow! We will take the opportunity to tell that we found the Concierge, Jess Dhokar, to be very friendly. And she did an excellent job, not least with the assistance we received from her concerning change of cabin, after one of our two cabins got a water leak from the air conditioning system. The salesman in the Apple Store was both very friendly and skilled. We also think the Cruise Director did a good job. Disembarkation: Fast Overall: Our family was very pleased with this cruise on the newly refurbished Summit, and with a friendly crew. Read Less

This was my 2nd cruise on the Summit (first was December 2018 pre-revolution) and we were excited to see all the changes. Embarkation was quick and easy. I’ve been on over 50 cruises and in addition to the quickest embarkation of all, this was my favorite cruise! We arrived at the port at 1 pm and we were having our first cocktails by 110 at the Sunset bar. We appreciated the opportunity to drop our carryon luggage at our beautiful cabin immediately upon boarding We had an Oceanview cabin on deck 2 and it was really nice. Last time I was on the Summit I had a Aqua Spa stateroom and we really didn’t care for Blu and found the Spa to be to small and busy. Post revolution it is now even smaller so I just stayed away. The food on the ship was overall very good. We ate in the Cosmopolitan most nights and the Oceanview Cafe twice. While the new Oceanview Cafe is bright, beautiful and sparkling...the food was good but they need to be more creative. It was way too repetitious. What happened to different themes every night in the buffet? For the most part it looked the same daily but again, it tasted good but just got boring real fast. Sorry Oswald F and B Mgr. Spice it up a little Cosmopolitan had very good food and excellent service from Vicky the Sommelier and our wait staff. Colin the beverage server in Cosmopolitan was a rock star. All service was amazing including Oceanview Cafe. Bar service poolside was great. By Zejda and all the waiters was awesome! Entertainment was really good. John the comedian was really funny, game shows were fun and silent disco was a hoot as always. We were lucky to see Uptown again on this ship..they are super talented young men and their show was the best of the whole Cruise. We were disappointed that Patrick the Cruise Director was moved to Equinox on the day our ship sailed. He is such a great guy. Dan the CD from the Equinox was the CD for our sailing. His staff was terrific! Bennie and Manuel were truly outstanding. Manuel was promoted to CD on the Millennium so he left during our cruise. There seems to be a lot of shuffling around on Celebrity these days. Capt Charis was delightful! We were thrilled to be invited to have dinner with him and his lovely wife Elina. It was a wonderful evening that we will remember forever! Anishika Boodhun was Captains Club Hostess and she was such a pleasure to meet. Our Cabin Steward, Shannel did a great job keeping our cabin spotless daily plus she was so friendly and welcoming. Overall the cruise was fantastic! The ports were all great. Read Less

I chose this cruise because of the itinerary. I have also sailed with Celebrity in the past and it was amazing. The ship just coming out of an extensive refurbishment was also a factor. Boarding was quick and easy as we filled out our Xpress passes prior to sailing. Our plane arrived in San Juan 2 hours late so we boarded during the muster drill and did not receive our glass of champagne, with I understand. Overall the ship looked very good i thought. Really enjoyed the layout of the Rendezvous Lounge, Main Dining Room was beautiful. Casino was nice and modern looking. I feel they could of done more with the Sunset Bar. Its such a great spot on the Solstice-Class ships. Maybe added more lounge type furniture instead of just tables and chairs. I think they missed the mark on that space. Oceanview Cafe was nicely redesigned but the positives stop there for that space. Our stateroom was nice and modern but small compared to newer ships. I thought the new Xhale mattress and pillows where amazing and had great night sleeps. Some of the other venues like the Martini Bar, Cellar Masters, Cafe Al Bacio, Sky Lounge etc. where not touched during the renovation. I'd would of liked to see something done in those spaces as they are starting to age a bit. Spa was nice but small, pool deck looks good. I liked the Solarium because of the padded lounge chairs, day beds and sofas. I would of liked to see them add this type our furniture to the outside main pool. I feel if Celebrity wants to distinguish themselves as a premium cruise line these items would set them apart from the pack. I feel the Rooftop Terrance is kind of a wasted space. They should of put a bar up there and maybe some hot tubs as to attract more people to use the space. Dinner in the Main Dining Room was very good as well as the service. From Rack of Lamp, Braised Short Ribs to Grand Marnier Souffle and Tiramisu all very good (Grand Marnier Souffle might be one of the best desserts I've ever had). Qsine was mediocre at best. Really the only thing I enjoyed where the sushi lollipops. Everything else was less than satisfactory. Lava crab, Chinese Martinis, Angus sliders, Meatball Trilogy all just not very good. Service wasn't much better either. If they want to do Tapas just serve traditional Spanish Tapas. I feel like the menu is all over the place with different types/ styles of food and maybe that's why the quality suffered. Tuscan Grille was good but i wasn't wowed. Appetizers like fired calamari and pork belly where good. I had the rigatoni with lobster in a pink sauce which was tasty. 22 oz dry-aged Porterhouse was just good, not wowed by it. Limoncello cheese cake was fare at best. Service was just okay if not slow at times. Again, I don't think these restaurants where worth the up charge. I feel like the food in the MDR was just as good and the service was far better. Not to mention the atmosphere was great. The Oceanview cafe was just not a good experience. On my previous Celebrity cruise in the Mediterranean we loved the buffet when coming back on the ship from a long day and grabbing cheese, meats and horderves even sushi before getting ready for dinner. this cruise not so much, you'd be lucky to get a slice of pizza or maybe pick some cheese from the salad bar if your lucky. You would think they would have a lot of offerings at this time because people where re-boarding and hungry from the days activities. I found this infuriating. We had dinner there the first night and it was just not good. Breakfast was not much better. Scrambled eggs where gross, breakfast meats where tasteless. Not a good effort from Celebrity. Room service breakfast was also lacking. My last Celebrity cruise you could get eggs made to order, not anymore. Only scrambled and they where nasty. No griddle items available either like pancakes, french toast etc. They also used to do a sea-day brunch which was amazing. Definitely a sign of cut backs. Entertainment was just okay. There where some singers and bands that where decent. I Like the solo guitarist and the latin band. The main pool band from Mexico was just not good. The female singer was off most the time and they didn't bring any energy. Comedian was kinda funny but lost steam as his set went on. The cruise director was good as well as the activities director, both very funny and put on entertaining events. I'm def willing to give Celebrity another shot, most likely on there newer ships. I just was not wowed by this recent experience and expected better. Read Less
