We have sailed many times with Celebrity on the Solstice class and always have a great experience. Unfortunately, Infinity did not live up to the usual level of service on our short weekend sail to the Bahamas. It is really a loss for the guests and for Celebrity. As past guests, we were excited to see this short itinerary of two nights out of Ft. Lauderdale. We hoped it could be something we could do often. We also met a number of guests who were trying out Celebrity for the first time hoping to find a new line they could call their own. The crew on Infinity let all of us down. As past guests, we won't be back on Infinity or for a short cruise. We were embarrassed for Celebrity for all the first time guests. One couple said they were headed back to Carnival for better service! The ship is older and smaller than the bigger sister ships like Reflection, Solstice, Silhouette, and Equinox - we have happily been on all of them. The size and age does not excuse some of poor cleanliness in areas like the coffee shop. It also certainly does not excuse the inattentive service of the dining room staff, the store staff, bartenders and other crew. There was no effort to talk to guests beyond the absolute minimum to get in an order or a sale. The crew was not engaged with guests even to the point of gathering among themselves to chat and block areas in the buffet. We went up to the silent disco and again, crew were chatting with each other and no one was talking to guests. We never saw the Captain or any of the Officers interacting with guests. The two days felt like time out at sea so the port charges could be avoided in between two longer cruises. It felt like the fact that guests were on board was an annoyance to the crew. The crew was busy recovering from the prior cruise and getting ready for the next sailing. It felt like we were bothering them to ask for a drink or even try to get a price on merchandise in the stores. We did enjoy the entertainment in the theater - both the comedian and the singers and dancers were great. The pool side entertainers were also very good and we enjoyed the string duo in the afternoons. The food was OK and about as good as other Celebrity ships, we just were exasperated with the slow service in the main dining room. We were also aggravated that the Classic drink package was not offered. You could only buy the Premium packages. The reason given was it was only a two night cruise so they couldn't offer the lower priced packages. Makes absolutely no sense. We did not feel that this was a good value for us and I am sure Celebrity lost out on sales that would have otherwise occurred had the full slate of drink packages been offered. We were also frequently solicited for the premium dining and spa, just about as bad as the street sales people in port. We also tried the Concierge stateroom for the first time. Thankfully, it was a very low amount to have this because it is totally not worth any extra. We were offered free champagne twice but never received it. Would never pay for it again. We will be back on the S-Class ships but will be avoiding the M-Class ships in the future, especially Infinity. Read Less

Cons: Overall, our room was clean but outdated. Spent nearly $850/person to sleep in a windowless room. WiFi was horribly expensive and slow (couldn’t even upload photos on instagram). Our TV was constantly flickering in and out. We were hassled to buy drink packages. Once bought, we could hardly get any service. And also not many options on the lower priced drink package (almost $400 for the lowest option). Also there is hardly anything to do on the ship during sea days. Pros: The food was okay and the crew was very friendly. Musicals were good. Lots of Talented entertainment. Showers were surprisingly larger than expected. The excursion we took was awesome. Decent amount of storage in room. This is not a bad cruise ship, but so not worth the money we paid. After talking to other people and their experiences, our next cruise will probably be with Royal Caribbean. Read Less

After a wonderful experience on the Reflection last Fall, we booked this cruise as a last minute get away. We were excited that a last minute cancelation allowed us the opportunity to stay in a Family Veranda cabin so we could enjoy the extra large room/veranda. The size of the room/veranda did not disappoint but the conditions of the room/veranda were terribly disappointed. We knew going into the Infinity that it was an older ship that needed some "TLC". We did not realize that TLC meant mold, mildew, rotten base boards, odors and worn out furniture. I would never have stayed in a hotel in such poor condition and didn't expect to find this on a premier cruise line. The common areas on the ship have been taken care for the most part, but the cabin not so much! I do wonder just how many layers of paint the ship can have to cover so much rust! Some of the staff were excellent (cabin steward) but the staff in Cellar Masters were not very knowledgable of wine and what to recommend. That was opposite of our experience on Reflection. Read Less

This was our 20th cruise, but first with Celebrity. I imagined Celebrity as similar to Princess (our favorite line) and HAL. Celebrity did not meet those expectations on this cruise. The ship itself is a nice, smaller ship. Not elegant, and certainly no bells and whistles. Our oceanview cabin was similarly undistinguished and fairly small. The food was consistently very good, but portions were small and the main problem was little variety and no imagination. We never had a "wow" meal. There was not much emphasis on healthy food, nor a lot of high-end ingredients (lobster, crab, real chocolate, pine nuts, premium fruits like strawberries, blueberries, mango, etc.) It seemed like there were bean-counters consciously trying to keep food costs down. The sides were consistently potatoes and string beans. I mean just about every night. I was surprised that there was little ethnic food, other than regular Indian food (which was good) and Mexican food at the buffet while in Cozumel (which was bad). Not a single Chinese stir fry or Thai, Greek, Middle Eastern, Italian, etc. The breakfast was the same thing every day. The lunch was also very similar day to day. Dinners were uninspired. The service was generally good, but not really attentive, and certainly not the premium service I expected. For example, it was rare to see someone coming around in the buffet with drinks. It was often hard to find someone to ask a question to. If I needed silverware (not provided on the tables in the buffet) and someone was stacking the rolled up napkins and silverware, I had to reach over them to get a set. Never did anyone acknowledge me or stop to hand me a set. On Princess I would have been handed that silverware, and someone would have brought me a drink, probably someone who recognized me and knew what I liked to drink. That is premium service and that was sorely lacking on this ship. The entertainment staff (cruise director Luigi et al) I thought did a good job but there just were not a lot of activities on board. It was more like HAL with not much to do during the sea days. The musicians were generally good, but there were not a lot of them, and it was hard to find live music. The Passion Duo (guitar and singer) were particularly good, The orchestra was excellent but should have had more opportunities to play. The production staff (singers and dancers) were also excellent, but only did one show: iBroadway, which was very entertaining. They did iBroadway on the last night of the cruise, leaving everyone wondering where these people were hiding the whole cruise. There were two comedians who did the typical cruise ship routines. They had a singer/impressionist, Travis Turpin, who I thought did a really entertaining and somewhat unique show. But again there was just not enough entertainment. Everything just felt really low end, like a budget cruise line with budget food and budget entertainment. On the last day the toilets stopped working. It was a fitting end to a pretty crappy cruise. We will be sticking with Princess, and to a lesser extent HAL and RCL, unless we get a great deal on Celebrity that is priced like the low-end line Celebrity has apparently become. Then we will set our expectations really low. Read Less

Picked this cruise because it was cheap and in the past Celebrity’s performance was good I thought the food in the Main Dining Room was mediocre and the selection limited. Very disappointing. I also thought it was poorly maintained with cold showers most nights safes that didn’t work because of dead batteries, flaking paint, mold in the bathroom, We also thought that the Captain’s Club representative had a bit of an attitude. Also loud music on pool deck was not conducive to a relaxing trip. We hardly ever saw the officers with the exception of one captains club event and Celebrity has cut way back on the Happy Hour for it’s Elite and up members My feeling overall is that the value and quality has gone way down and may not be our cruise company of choice in the future One bright spot was an excellent cabin attendant which helped the otherwise poor experience Read Less

We were looking forward to a 40th anniversary celebration. Unfortunately the condition of this ship took much of the pleasure from our trip away. From the state room, which had a toilet that frequently didn’t work, with a speaker that also failed to work and balcony railinging with paint sloppily applied. The shower hot water was occasionally not available. About a third of the gym equipment was not in order. We had to avoid many parts of the ship due to ongoing work by maintenance crews. No activities were offered in the sport court and it’s surface was covered in splattered paint. The walking surface on the exterior portion of the ship was stained, And in need of repair. The hot tubs were poorly repaired after years of service, etc etc etc. Rust was prevalent throughout the boat with some stairs actually broken. For the cost of this trip I laugh at the gall Celebrity has to provide such a DUMP of a ship. The staff were excellent and the food was OK. This was our 4th cruise and the only time we’ve been dissatisfied. I’ll never give Celebrity another chance. They should be ashamed! Again, this boat is a dump. Spend your money on another cruise line. Read Less

We decided to take this cruise because of the Itinerary... The check in was quick although since we were returning a rental car in Vancouver, they had us going up and down couple of times until we got on the ship. We were in cabin 7111 and our steward was great. No complains there.... The cabin was smaller than what we are used to based on their other ships, but it was OK... Bed - it was extremely hard and uncomfortable. I have back problems and there were nights when both of us couldn't sleep. Wanted to use the couch but it was too small and we couldn't. Not being able to sleep really put us in bad mood during the days. I sleep really well on the ships and was looking forward to it. Needless to say didn't happen. The friends we traveled with is a massage therapist and thank God she was able to help me so I can walk and move. Specialty Restaurants - Qsine was a cute experience... Tuscan Grill - we love this place, this time not so much. A dinner of 4 took 2.5 hrs all together, ordering a drink took 25 min to get it and if you want a refill it is another 25 min, on couple of occasions we had to fill our water glasses from the bottle they left beside the table. Buffet - the food was OK, not many choices, but OK... Getting a drink - we gave up on this one... no one ever walked around us and we ended up getting it ourselves. We liked the Martini Bar where we met other people with the same experiences of the beds and service. We are usually not high maintenance travelers and were really looking forward to this vacation. In summary, the bad bed, nonexistent service made us quiet disappointed with this ship, as we still paid premium price for the cruise. It wasn't cheap. This ship was Refurbished in 2015 and it doesn't look like it already. We did enjoy the tour of the ship, this was probably the only good thing on the ship that we experienced. We will be not taking this ship again..... Read Less

This cruise was recommended by our travel agent. We paid over $3500 Au for Concierge class and whilst the cabin was reasonably comfortable it certainly wasn’t luxurious. Embarkation took over an hour as we had to wait whilst 2 ships passengers passed slowly through US Customs. The ship is old and dated. The main dining area was overcrowded (sometimes nowhere to sit), the food was mediocre and pretty tasteless, the activities were boring, the service was substandard from most of the staff, though a few people stood out with their friendliness and helped us a lot. When we asked about our booked excursions re clothing we needed to take etc, they just dismissed us. When an activity was cancelled, there was no interest in offering an alternative-just, you’ll get a refund. We went to the entertainment once and walked out after 20 minutes. I’ve seen better high school productions. If you’re an Aussie, you’ll get this. It was like a giant floating RSL Club-average food, average entertainment, pokies everywhere, lots of old people (I’m over 60 and even I felt young). People would go to the coffee shop where you had to pay extra or have a drinks package, and just curl up and sleep in the arm chairs by the windows! When we asked the staff to ask them to move they just shrugged their shoulders and walked off. Regarding the staff-our cabin attendant said they work a 7 month contract and never get a day off. I can see why they all look overwhelmed. The one good thing was the excursions. We did kayaking in Sitka, a helicopter/airboat/glacier excursion in Juneau and ziplining in Ketchikan. The kayaking was good but the guide basically forgot we were there and kept leaving us behind (must be that over 50 invisible thing). The helicopter tour was booked on the wharf in Juneau as our other tour was cancelled due to weather. It was one of the best things I’ve ever done. Look out for the Taku Glacier excursion. The ziplining in Ketchikan was amazing and took my 66 year old sister and me to the extreme but I would do it again in a heartbeat. The staff were brilliant and treated us with great respect as did the helicopter tour staff. Having done a Hawaiian Cruise last year, Celebrity compared poorly. We decided that the only benefit of the cruise was to get us from one excursion to the other. Be warned. Read Less

Chose this cruise to see Alaska and the Hubbard Glacier. The Infinity is an older and smaller ship than others we'd been on and certainly had less to offer than the bigger ships. The main dining area felt claustrophobic and the buffet area was very difficult to maneuver through when busy. The cabin was clean but smaller than we'd had on previous Celebrity cruises. Entertainment was always great. We used the on board internet services once and found the IT person very abrupt and not helpful at all. The remaining wait staff are always amazing but some of the shore excursions the ship recommended were very disappointing. One advertised as 'The Ultimate Hubbard Glacier Experience' was dismal. We boarded a private tour operators boat but were only out for half the time. We experienced no wildlife, no large icebergs, minimal commentary from a supposed 'Naturalist' and certainly did not get the exclusive, up close and personal viewing of the glacier that we were promised as the ship itself, came within the same distance from the glacier that we did. This excursion was not cheap and we felt really ripped off. So word of warning...don't assume that all the tours the cruises promote are what they say they are and worth the money you pay for them. Spent three days in Vancouver prior to the cruise. Embarkation was a nightmare, long queues. Carried our own bags when leaving therefore disembarkation went smoothly. The ship is tired looking, cabin was clean although the curtains, bed valance were torn. Bathroom had a musty smell which was sorted by our cleaner. Dining room was fine, great service and food was ok, ate here for breakfast and evening meal. The OceanView was a nightmare, queues, no room to eat, tables were not vacated and not asked to move even though there were signs. People were having to eat standing up. On the plus side, the cleaning and dining room staff were excellent. Entertainment wasn't brilliant, enjoyed the lectures. Port excursions were ok, I found all three ports very similar and boring. Enjoyed Hubbard glacier very much. In my opinion the company is only interested in taking as much money off passengers as everything seemed to cost extra I will not cruise with Celebrity again.
