Poor: 1.) Our room and the total ship, for that matter, is very "tired". We actually traveled on the Infinity in 2004 and don't believe any updates have been made since then (dramatization on my part). The crew we talked to stated a retro is due in October, but that didn't help us for now. Every passenger we spoke to about the ship stated the same thing, ship needs help. 2.) No Captain's Club for check in on pier. 3.) No Aqua Class check in. 4.) Captain's Club desk onboard only open a couple of hours each day 5.) The onboard stage entertainment was poor. The only opportunity possible for a mix was when a comedian was scheduled and then canceled the day before. The substitution was for the same singer we had the previous evening and, although talented, began getting a bit redundant. The idea of "mixing it up" came with cycling in the Celebrity Entertainers. The small combos performing at the bars, were good, on the other hand. 6.) Due to our special dates, my 70th birthday and wife's 64th, both happening during the cruise, we must say that we probably enjoyed this Celebrity cruise the least of those in the past. 7.) The staff ship wide was probably only 25% sincere. Didn't get a real friendly feeling from the majority of our contacts. Good: 1.) Aqua Class was a cruise saver. Aside from the room condition, everything else was terrific. The Blu Room for Aqua Class meals was wonderful. The help was 100% sincere, starting with the front check in down to the whole room staff. Never had to wait for a table and crew attempted to meet whatever requests we may have had. 2.) The included spa steam rooms were a great plus after using the attached gym. 3.) The gym is laid out well the machines all function correctly. 4.) The two specialty restaurants we visited were both great. We did see that one of the ones we didn't try, was the Sushi restaurant. Every time we walked by, there was nobody present to dine. We think they might want to look into replacing with another type. Read Less

I chose this cruise as my first Transatlantic crossing and first time on Celebrity. I've been on 59 other cruises, so I consider myself well versed and know what I'm looking for in a cruise. It's easier to list my LIKES and DISLIKES rather than ramble on so here it is: LIKES 1) Small ship.2000 passengers 2) Friendly working staff members 3) Nightlight in bathroom 4) No towel animals DISLIKES 1) Poor embarkation. One big mass of slow moving passenger lines with few employees checking in. Most talking or on the phone. 2) Inadequate public bathrooms. One urinal on average is not enough with an older crowd. Many bathrooms dirty and not working. 3) Two broken ice machines in cafe for the entire 14-day cruise. 4) Poorest quality of entertainment I've ever seen. 5) Segregated dining and lounges for select guests only. 6) Not one good movie offered at outside theater. Most old people not into animation, violence. Try oldies and musicals. 7) Smallest portions on entrees I've ever seen. I counted eight rigatoni pasta on my dish. 8) No orange or grapefruit juice at breakfast buffet unless you were willing to pay $3.50 until last 2 days when it was free. 9) No Christian service on Sundays but a Jewish service each Friday. 10) Don't be first in line for breakfast or lunch buffet. Everything is fresh from the fridge and cold. 11) Smallest, thinnest washcloths and towels I've ever seen in a suite. 12) Poorly written Daily paper. Mistakes prevalent each day. No mention of weather predictions. 13) Poor handling of shore excursions. Everyone had to go through the entire Celebrity Theater, up onto the stage to get stickers for buses. Tickets should have been given out in the theater hallways after a tour number has been called. 14) Not one tour bus offered a restroom. 15) Excursions returning after 2:30 PM found the buffet was closed. 16) Who in their right mind would pay $25 each for a photo? 17) Unfriendly officers. Not one ever spoke to us or smiled. Hardly ever seen. 18) No final bill delivered to stateroom on last day of cruise. 19) Only one announcement per day at 9:45 AM by a captain we couldn't hear or understand. 20) Few if any daily activities for seven sea days. The cons: We chose this cruise because I read that there aren't many children on this cruise, however, there were about 40% whining, screaming kids. Also the caliber of passengers was shocking -- i.e. women dressed like strippers at breakfast, etc. Other things I did not like were: most of the activities were based on sales pitches, i.e. selling diamonds, whiskey, wine, etc. Nothing that interested us. There was nothing, not even a colored egg or candy, for Easter. The chairs were always taken in the solarium -- people put towels on them and went elsewhere. The music in the buffet was loud and wailing -- not appropriate. The buffet opened at 12pm and 6pm, which I think is too late. The clam chowder had NOTHING in it but the broth -- not one clam or potato, etc. The crew served dessert at the buffet as if people weren't trusted to do it themselves. Also catsup was squirted on plates in the dining room -- again no trust. We had a concierge cabin and the hors d'oeuvres they delivered in the afternoon were a JOKE -- 4 pieces -- no bigger than a dime each. I ordered a scotch and water with a twist at the Oceanview Bar and it was served in a tall glass with a wedge of lemon. The excursion in Nassau was 3 hours, beginning at 11am, yet there was no provision for lunch. And restrooms were scarce. The worst part was it was at least a mile to walk to the bus from the ship. The pros: The concierge was very helpful, we loved the veranda, the cruise was so smooth it didn't seem like we were moving, the crew were all very nice and the dining room was spectacular. The escargot was outstanding and the hamburger at the pool grill was also very good. Read Less

Where to start. The "guest" is treated like cattle on embarkation. Once inside the ship, their bars did not have the necessary items to create basic frozen drinks. This issue lasted all cruise long. No room service menu in cabin, broken phome in cabin, incomplete room service orders. Cabins attendant did not ntroduced herself, we finally saw her at the end of the second night by coinsidence. Not enough life jackets in cabin for the amount of passagers and the front desk REFUSED TO PROVIDE THE MISSIMG ONES (no joke). The food quality in the main dinning room was so poor that we went there just one night. The buffet food was fresh and the dinning area was clean but the food had no flavor. Why? The ingredients and the cooking personnel was there so what was the issue? Who knows. Hot items were cold and cold items were warm. Onboard stores did not engage with passagers interested in purchasing high ticket items. It appeared to me that the employees were there more to protect the merchadise from theft than to assist customers in a sale. Only one comedian and he was bad, no magicians, no ice carving, no cooking demonstration...NOTHING. One night show was terminated early due to technical difficulties and they did not offered to resume/finish the show at some point (ups!!, could not finish the show, sorry about your luck!!). Debarkation: somehow some passagers were able to leave the ship early, according to Celebrity, based on their return flight. Interesting because that was not mention in ther website, their daily newspaper or TV., tHE daily newspaper indicated to watch a debarkation video on the cabin TV but the video was never made available. The final statement of all expenses was never provided or offered, so I guess that you were forced to do the line at the front desk if you really wanted one. If this line cannot do the basic things right in a smaller/older ship, I can't imagine the spectacle in their newer/much bigger ships. Celebrity again? No thanks. Read Less

We have sailed many times with Celebrity on the Solstice class and always have a great experience. Unfortunately, Infinity did not live up to the usual level of service on our short weekend sail to the Bahamas. It is really a loss for the guests and for Celebrity. As past guests, we were excited to see this short itinerary of two nights out of Ft. Lauderdale. We hoped it could be something we could do often. We also met a number of guests who were trying out Celebrity for the first time hoping to find a new line they could call their own. The crew on Infinity let all of us down. As past guests, we won't be back on Infinity or for a short cruise. We were embarrassed for Celebrity for all the first time guests. One couple said they were headed back to Carnival for better service! The ship is older and smaller than the bigger sister ships like Reflection, Solstice, Silhouette, and Equinox - we have happily been on all of them. The size and age does not excuse some of poor cleanliness in areas like the coffee shop. It also certainly does not excuse the inattentive service of the dining room staff, the store staff, bartenders and other crew. There was no effort to talk to guests beyond the absolute minimum to get in an order or a sale. The crew was not engaged with guests even to the point of gathering among themselves to chat and block areas in the buffet. We went up to the silent disco and again, crew were chatting with each other and no one was talking to guests. We never saw the Captain or any of the Officers interacting with guests. The two days felt like time out at sea so the port charges could be avoided in between two longer cruises. It felt like the fact that guests were on board was an annoyance to the crew. The crew was busy recovering from the prior cruise and getting ready for the next sailing. It felt like we were bothering them to ask for a drink or even try to get a price on merchandise in the stores. We did enjoy the entertainment in the theater - both the comedian and the singers and dancers were great. The pool side entertainers were also very good and we enjoyed the string duo in the afternoons. The food was OK and about as good as other Celebrity ships, we just were exasperated with the slow service in the main dining room. We were also aggravated that the Classic drink package was not offered. You could only buy the Premium packages. The reason given was it was only a two night cruise so they couldn't offer the lower priced packages. Makes absolutely no sense. We did not feel that this was a good value for us and I am sure Celebrity lost out on sales that would have otherwise occurred had the full slate of drink packages been offered. We were also frequently solicited for the premium dining and spa, just about as bad as the street sales people in port. We also tried the Concierge stateroom for the first time. Thankfully, it was a very low amount to have this because it is totally not worth any extra. We were offered free champagne twice but never received it. Would never pay for it again. We will be back on the S-Class ships but will be avoiding the M-Class ships in the future, especially Infinity. Read Less

Cons: Overall, our room was clean but outdated. Spent nearly $850/person to sleep in a windowless room. WiFi was horribly expensive and slow (couldn’t even upload photos on instagram). Our TV was constantly flickering in and out. We were hassled to buy drink packages. Once bought, we could hardly get any service. And also not many options on the lower priced drink package (almost $400 for the lowest option). Also there is hardly anything to do on the ship during sea days. Pros: The food was okay and the crew was very friendly. Musicals were good. Lots of Talented entertainment. Showers were surprisingly larger than expected. The excursion we took was awesome. Decent amount of storage in room. This is not a bad cruise ship, but so not worth the money we paid. After talking to other people and their experiences, our next cruise will probably be with Royal Caribbean. Read Less

After a wonderful experience on the Reflection last Fall, we booked this cruise as a last minute get away. We were excited that a last minute cancelation allowed us the opportunity to stay in a Family Veranda cabin so we could enjoy the extra large room/veranda. The size of the room/veranda did not disappoint but the conditions of the room/veranda were terribly disappointed. We knew going into the Infinity that it was an older ship that needed some "TLC". We did not realize that TLC meant mold, mildew, rotten base boards, odors and worn out furniture. I would never have stayed in a hotel in such poor condition and didn't expect to find this on a premier cruise line. The common areas on the ship have been taken care for the most part, but the cabin not so much! I do wonder just how many layers of paint the ship can have to cover so much rust! Some of the staff were excellent (cabin steward) but the staff in Cellar Masters were not very knowledgable of wine and what to recommend. That was opposite of our experience on Reflection. Read Less

This was our 20th cruise, but first with Celebrity. I imagined Celebrity as similar to Princess (our favorite line) and HAL. Celebrity did not meet those expectations on this cruise. The ship itself is a nice, smaller ship. Not elegant, and certainly no bells and whistles. Our oceanview cabin was similarly undistinguished and fairly small. The food was consistently very good, but portions were small and the main problem was little variety and no imagination. We never had a "wow" meal. There was not much emphasis on healthy food, nor a lot of high-end ingredients (lobster, crab, real chocolate, pine nuts, premium fruits like strawberries, blueberries, mango, etc.) It seemed like there were bean-counters consciously trying to keep food costs down. The sides were consistently potatoes and string beans. I mean just about every night. I was surprised that there was little ethnic food, other than regular Indian food (which was good) and Mexican food at the buffet while in Cozumel (which was bad). Not a single Chinese stir fry or Thai, Greek, Middle Eastern, Italian, etc. The breakfast was the same thing every day. The lunch was also very similar day to day. Dinners were uninspired. The service was generally good, but not really attentive, and certainly not the premium service I expected. For example, it was rare to see someone coming around in the buffet with drinks. It was often hard to find someone to ask a question to. If I needed silverware (not provided on the tables in the buffet) and someone was stacking the rolled up napkins and silverware, I had to reach over them to get a set. Never did anyone acknowledge me or stop to hand me a set. On Princess I would have been handed that silverware, and someone would have brought me a drink, probably someone who recognized me and knew what I liked to drink. That is premium service and that was sorely lacking on this ship. The entertainment staff (cruise director Luigi et al) I thought did a good job but there just were not a lot of activities on board. It was more like HAL with not much to do during the sea days. The musicians were generally good, but there were not a lot of them, and it was hard to find live music. The Passion Duo (guitar and singer) were particularly good, The orchestra was excellent but should have had more opportunities to play. The production staff (singers and dancers) were also excellent, but only did one show: iBroadway, which was very entertaining. They did iBroadway on the last night of the cruise, leaving everyone wondering where these people were hiding the whole cruise. There were two comedians who did the typical cruise ship routines. They had a singer/impressionist, Travis Turpin, who I thought did a really entertaining and somewhat unique show. But again there was just not enough entertainment. Everything just felt really low end, like a budget cruise line with budget food and budget entertainment. On the last day the toilets stopped working. It was a fitting end to a pretty crappy cruise. We will be sticking with Princess, and to a lesser extent HAL and RCL, unless we get a great deal on Celebrity that is priced like the low-end line Celebrity has apparently become. Then we will set our expectations really low. Read Less

Picked this cruise because it was cheap and in the past Celebrity’s performance was good I thought the food in the Main Dining Room was mediocre and the selection limited. Very disappointing. I also thought it was poorly maintained with cold showers most nights safes that didn’t work because of dead batteries, flaking paint, mold in the bathroom, We also thought that the Captain’s Club representative had a bit of an attitude. Also loud music on pool deck was not conducive to a relaxing trip. We hardly ever saw the officers with the exception of one captains club event and Celebrity has cut way back on the Happy Hour for it’s Elite and up members My feeling overall is that the value and quality has gone way down and may not be our cruise company of choice in the future One bright spot was an excellent cabin attendant which helped the otherwise poor experience Read Less

We were looking forward to a 40th anniversary celebration. Unfortunately the condition of this ship took much of the pleasure from our trip away. From the state room, which had a toilet that frequently didn’t work, with a speaker that also failed to work and balcony railinging with paint sloppily applied. The shower hot water was occasionally not available. About a third of the gym equipment was not in order. We had to avoid many parts of the ship due to ongoing work by maintenance crews. No activities were offered in the sport court and it’s surface was covered in splattered paint. The walking surface on the exterior portion of the ship was stained, And in need of repair. The hot tubs were poorly repaired after years of service, etc etc etc. Rust was prevalent throughout the boat with some stairs actually broken. For the cost of this trip I laugh at the gall Celebrity has to provide such a DUMP of a ship. The staff were excellent and the food was OK. This was our 4th cruise and the only time we’ve been dissatisfied. I’ll never give Celebrity another chance. They should be ashamed! Again, this boat is a dump. We decided to take this cruise because of the Itinerary... The check in was quick although since we were returning a rental car in Vancouver, they had us going up and down couple of times until we got on the ship. We were in cabin 7111 and our steward was great. No complains there.... The cabin was smaller than what we are used to based on their other ships, but it was OK... Bed - it was extremely hard and uncomfortable. I have back problems and there were nights when both of us couldn't sleep. Wanted to use the couch but it was too small and we couldn't. Not being able to sleep really put us in bad mood during the days. I sleep really well on the ships and was looking forward to it. Needless to say didn't happen. The friends we traveled with is a massage therapist and thank God she was able to help me so I can walk and move. Specialty Restaurants - Qsine was a cute experience... Tuscan Grill - we love this place, this time not so much. A dinner of 4 took 2.5 hrs all together, ordering a drink took 25 min to get it and if you want a refill it is another 25 min, on couple of occasions we had to fill our water glasses from the bottle they left beside the table. Buffet - the food was OK, not many choices, but OK... Getting a drink - we gave up on this one... no one ever walked around us and we ended up getting it ourselves. We liked the Martini Bar where we met other people with the same experiences of the beds and service. We are usually not high maintenance travelers and were really looking forward to this vacation. In summary, the bad bed, nonexistent service made us quiet disappointed with this ship, as we still paid premium price for the cruise. It wasn't cheap. This ship was Refurbished in 2015 and it doesn't look like it already. We did enjoy the tour of the ship, this was probably the only good thing on the ship that we experienced. We will be not taking this ship again..... Read Less

This cruise was recommended by our travel agent. We paid over $3500 Au for Concierge class and whilst the cabin was reasonably comfortable it certainly wasn’t luxurious. Embarkation took over an hour as we had to wait whilst 2 ships passengers passed slowly through US Customs. The ship is old and dated. The main dining area was overcrowded (sometimes nowhere to sit), the food was mediocre and pretty tasteless, the activities were boring, the service was substandard from most of the staff, though a few people stood out with their friendliness and helped us a lot. When we asked about our booked excursions re clothing we needed to take etc, they just dismissed us. When an activity was cancelled, there was no interest in offering an alternative-just, you’ll get a refund. We went to the entertainment once and walked out after 20 minutes. I’ve seen better high school productions. If you’re an Aussie, you’ll get this. It was like a giant floating RSL Club-average food, average entertainment, pokies everywhere, lots of old people (I’m over 60 and even I felt young). People would go to the coffee shop where you had to pay extra or have a drinks package, and just curl up and sleep in the arm chairs by the windows! When we asked the staff to ask them to move they just shrugged their shoulders and walked off. Regarding the staff-our cabin attendant said they work a 7 month contract and never get a day off. I can see why they all look overwhelmed. The one good thing was the excursions. We did kayaking in Sitka, a helicopter/airboat/glacier excursion in Juneau and ziplining in Ketchikan. The kayaking was good but the guide basically forgot we were there and kept leaving us behind (must be that over 50 invisible thing). The helicopter tour was booked on the wharf in Juneau as our other tour was cancelled due to weather. It was one of the best things I’ve ever done. Look out for the Taku Glacier excursion. The ziplining in Ketchikan was amazing and took my 66 year old sister and me to the extreme but I would do it again in a heartbeat. The staff were brilliant and treated us with great respect as did the helicopter tour staff. Having done a Hawaiian Cruise last year, Celebrity compared poorly. We decided that the only benefit of the cruise was to get us from one excursion to the other. Be warned. Read Less

Chose this cruise to see Alaska and the Hubbard Glacier. The Infinity is an older and smaller ship than others we'd been on and certainly had less to offer than the bigger ships. The main dining area felt claustrophobic and the buffet area was very difficult to maneuver through when busy. The cabin was clean but smaller than we'd had on previous Celebrity cruises. Entertainment was always great. We used the on board internet services once and found the IT person very abrupt and not helpful at all. The remaining wait staff are always amazing but some of the shore excursions the ship recommended were very disappointing. One advertised as 'The Ultimate Hubbard Glacier Experience' was dismal. We boarded a private tour operators boat but were only out for half the time. We experienced no wildlife, no large icebergs, minimal commentary from a supposed 'Naturalist' and certainly did not get the exclusive, up close and personal viewing of the glacier that we were promised as the ship itself, came within the same distance from the glacier that we did. This excursion was not cheap and we felt really ripped off. So word of warning...don't assume that all the tours the cruises promote are what they say they are and worth the money you pay for them. The ship is tired looking, cabin was clean although the curtains, bed valance were torn. Bathroom had a musty smell which was sorted by our cleaner. Dining room was fine, great service and food was ok, ate here for breakfast and evening meal. The OceanView was a nightmare, queues, no room to eat, tables were not vacated and not asked to move even though there were signs. People were having to eat standing up. On the plus side, the cleaning and dining room staff were excellent. Entertainment wasn't brilliant, enjoyed the lectures. Port excursions were ok, I found all three ports very similar and boring. Enjoyed Hubbard glacier very much. In my opinion the company is only interested in taking as much money off passengers as everything seemed to cost extra I will not cruise with Celebrity again. Travelled out of Vancouver. The embarkation went smooth but within 2 minutes of getting on the ship, we had a customer service representative hovering over us trying to sell us beverage packages. He misrepresented the Classic package as the Standard package and pressured us to upgrade. We had a group of 4. I told him we would like some time to think about it and he stood right next to our table and kept chiming in as we were discussing. We weren't able to go to our room at that time because the safety orientation was about to start so we ended up sitting in silence until he finally left us alone. It certainly felt like they were getting commission for beverage package sales. Once the safety orientation was over we went to our room. The cabins were nice but a bit small compared to other ships, but our stateroom attendant was wonderful. So pleasant and accommodating. We ended up upgrading our beverage package but honestly the classic package would have been just fine. The service at the bars were good but they tailored to the gold card members. You would be standing in line and should have been the next one up to order and they would skip over you. Maybe that's a perk of that level of card but they would be better off having a gold card only bar if that's the case. One day we were waiting at the bar for probably over 5 minutes while one bartender was chatting away with some customers at the other end of the counter and he had actually walked away from the bar before he took our order. Don't know where he went but we ended up leaving before he ever came back. It seemed like none of the oceanview café workers enjoyed being there. They all walked around grumpy and had no desire to have interaction with the guests. One server rolled her eyes at me when I asked for a coffee and baileys. The dining room, Trellis, was amazing though. The portions were perfect and the food was excellent! Best French Onion Soup I've ever had! Service was great in the dining room. Customer Service / Guest Relations / Shore Excursions desk was very unpleasant. They randomly charged my credit card mid way through the cruise which closed my account (therefore I couldn't use my card for this "amazing" beverage package this guy sold us). It took me 3 hours at guest relations to get this sorted out. I went through 4 representatives and missed that evening's dinner and show and not one of them apologized for the inconvenience or did anything to make up for it. I told them I wanted the charges off my card and their response was "well aren't you going to pay for everything via credit card at the end of the cruise? What does it matter if it went through early?" (Fact is, I had already done the exchange rate into cash prior and to use that to settle my account at the end of the trip). It was a nightmare. None of them took accountability for their error and couldn't why I was upset. The shore excursions were nice but none of the tickets matched up to the signs on the pier so it was a little chaotic finding the right shore excursion. Finally, there were some good parts of the cruise! The Cruise Director Luigi was awesome. He kept everyone busy all day and was very personable! The silent disco was a lot of fun! Should have that on every cruise...it was a big hit! Uptown performed at the theatre on the first night and they were great! Got the whole crowd moving. Loved their show! Overall, the views and the trip to Alaska was good but I would recommend trying a different cruise line. Every line will have entertainment and good dining. It's the service (or lack thereof) that sets them apart. Cheers. Read Less

We usually cruise with RCCL, but they weren't going through the Panama Canal when we booked this. For the most part, the employees were very good...in some places, they were excellent, especially on Deck 5 at Cafe al Bacio. We had friends cruising with us, who unfortunately had to leave for medical reasons halfway through the cruise. We were told by 'Guest Services' that we HAD to pack up their cabin & keep their luggage in our cabin, as it couldn't be left unattended. Guest Services had absolutely no regard for my husband or I, when I tried to explain that he had a very bad back & couldn't walk very well. That meant nothing to them, so we had no choice but to take their 2 very large suitcases, along with our 2 very large suitcases, plus our carryons, find them in customs, then to our excursion bus, & to the airlines. It was the first time on Celebrity...& even though they are owned by Royal Caribbean, there is absolutely NO comparison. From now on, we will definitely be staying with RCCL, & if we never got to cruise again, NEVER again on Celebrity!!! Read Less

The itinerary was, on the face of it very appealing. But apart from Costa Rica and the two stops in Mexico the rest were a waste of time. The only saving grace being the Panama Canal experience. The ship itself was a complete disaster, delays boarding, luggage held until late at night, stateroom filthy and not prepared. This ship should never have sailed after significant problems on the previous cruise. Areas of the ship closed off for “sanitation “, dinning tables devoid of bread, condiments or table decorations. We were repeatedly told not to touch anything, milk for tea and coffee served in glasses by the waiters. The staff were clearly stressed and working without leadership, nobody appeared to be in control and worst of all we were made to feel as if we were the culprits. I expect better from Celebrity, the lack of information and no visibility of the Officers led a lot of guests to assume that they were in hiding. It was not until day 12 of a 15 day cruise before things resembled some form of normality, but the service never improved and on 3 nights we missed the late show because dinner service had taken over 2 hours. I agree with other posta, this was not a happy ship, even though it had been “sanitised” it never felt clean. What ever problems the staff were facing they took their frustrations out on the guests. To make things worse the sickness and fever bug was apparent on our cruise so the deep cleaning process obviously failed. Read Less

We boarded in San Diego after arriving a day early and staying at the Hotel across the street. The ship didn't arrive until noon as we watched people with baggage arriving at the the cruise terminal from 9 am on. Thanks to the Hotel they let us stay in the room until 1 pm. We took a hotel bus over to the cruise terminal and proceeded to enter the stuffed terminal and continued to walk through looking for information about getting on to the ship. We finally made it about half way through the Terminal and we were stopped and told we need a card to continue from here. We were sent back to the entrance to get a card where we were told that they ran out of cards. After 3 hours we followed a group going on and agreed that we were part of the group. We have sailed with Norwegian, Holland America, Princess, Royal Caribbean and even Carnival. Celebrity Infinity has won hands down at doing the best job of screwing up the boarding. Interesting we did the Panama cruise with Princess about 3 years before and have to say that Celebrity Infinity even screwed up the departure in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The food on this ship was even below the class of food on Norwegian cruises. We had any time dinning and could only make reservations at 5 pm or 8:30 pm as they always said that all the reservations were taken from 5:30 to 8:30. We finally got smart and would go down at any time. The rooms were clean and our cabin Stewart did an outstanding job and even fold our cloths. The main disaster on this cruise was that a number of people were reported sick and confined to their room wit broth and a little white pill. The staff went about serving all the food and providing us with disinfecting grease at all points on the ship. The treatments of disinfectant and services only the staff seemed to be working until we arrived home. I have inherited the the cough that so many had on this cruise. My wife and I are in our early 70's and feel that if we have to be sick after a cruise that maybe we should stop cruising. We got off the ship on Wednesday and I started coughing as we left the ship and have continued to do it even now on Sunday May 6/18. Both of us feel totally whipped and spend a good percentage of our time running to the john. The entertainment was as good as any other cruise that I have been on. I believe that this ship is contaminated with sickness and would recommend it to even my enemies. Looking at earlier reviews of this ship it appears that those cruising in March experienced much of the same problems. This ship just spent 2 weeks in dry dock; why was it not cleaned up then? We chose this ship because it was cruising through the Panama Canal. First of all our time to embark was delayed by 2 hours. When we arrived at the port we sat in a large warehouse for over another 2 hours. The celebrity staff were not informing us of why everything was delayed and people were very upset. When we got on the ship our bathrooms were not working for the first night. Our bedroom steward was awesome and very friendly (Dennis - not sure of the spelling). Also Aries and the other wait staff were very friendly and our food was served in a timely manner. The food at the buffet was sometimes cold. Our stateroom, which had a balcony, was good. The ship itself seemed older and needed updates. Overall the staff seemed disorganized and I was not pleased with the overall ship itself. I have taken 4 other cruises and this was my first on Celebrity and I'm not sure if I would taken another Celebrity cruise. Read Less

Embarkation from San Diego was very disorganized. Very pretty ship and entertainment was great. Staff not very welcoming. Food poor. In the cafe hot food was generally cool to cold. They ran out of ice tea at one lunch. No ketchup at breakfast. No ice cream sauces one day. Best to order made to order if you want hot food. Need to look for eating utensils and search for servers. Overall attention to all aspects of details was lacking. Norovirus was ID during the cruise and MANY times there was cross contamination by staff. Guidelines and management oversite were not visibility present. Staff observed going behind the cafe food station, dishing out food, covering it with a paper napkin and going back into the kitchen area. Also using gloved hands to pick up burgers, fries and hot dogs when there were tongs in plain site. Ladies room in spa pool area missing toilets paper for 2 days. Read Less

Embarkation went smoothly enough. Meals in dining room not to my taste most nights so we ate in ocean view cafe. Mainly the stirfrys which were freshly cooked to order and were excellent, We found the ship activities to be lacking. Guest speakers... poor for trip what did Alaska act have to do with this Cruise? Very little info on ports except for a short talk on first sea day. Panama canal was excellent. Ship speaker was supposed to be heard in all public areas NOT. We could only hear inside not while out on deck 4 or on most upper areas this was so annoying. Ships crew we found to be excellent at their jobs, but not overly friendly. Entertainment was ok. Jayne Curry was excellent great to have her for 2 nights. Only ships excursion we took was sightseeing trip of Miami on last day as our flight was at 4.55pm. This was an unmitigated disaster from start to finish.we disembarked with tour at 7.30 am got through customs at 9.15am. Put luggage in truck for later collection. Then sat in open top bus for a further 75mins before tour eventually began. Tour finished at 1.10 guide said we would be in airport by 2pm. We had to queue on side of road go collect our luggage from truck. So disorganised then we sat in bus until 2.30. Eventually reached airport at 3.25pm. We had to rush to check in for international flight because we were do late we were separated on flight. We were not happy with this tour and would advise others not to do this tour. Overall we did not enjoy this cruise as we should have .if this had been our first cruise ever then we probably would not cruise again. Luckily we have done several other excellent cruises so all just put this cruise down to bad luck. Read Less

We chose this cruise to experience some latin flavour and of coarse Cape Horn... a Magellan dream. The facts are: Buenos Aris port where the ship docked for two days is awful. Shipping containers, strattle-carriers, trucks constantly beeping, jackhammers, noisy port. The ship was sandwiched between mountains of shipping containers, affording the view. One could literally taste the pollution, using the balcony was impossible. Our aqua class room: We arrived exhausted. Our bags were in the hall. I asked the attendant if he could put the bed protectors on the bedding as I didn't want to put our luggage on the clean white comforter. He said,'they did not do that anymore???' I asked were the fresh flowers were, the fruit basket, the champagne our bottled water? ''They do not do that anymore. But if I ask he will bring the champagne.' We noticed in unpacking that there was only one robe and no wine glasses. Upon request those were provide. A crumpled up robe was handed over. We also noticed that the bottle of vodka we ordered was not delivered. To unravel that it took three days and several calls to guest services, even though we had our order and confirmation numbers. ( as and aside our cost was $106.00 and the ship stores sold the same vodka 2 bottles for $30...) Montevideo featured a busy working port thankfully not on the same scale as Buenos Ares. We finally relaxed on our balcony. I thought the balcony had been cleaned, my clothing proved otherwise. Three days of filthy had not been touched... I used a white dampened hand towel which came out blackened and filthy from the railing, table and chairs, I called our attendant and showed him my stained clothing and filthy towel. The Captain never mentioned that the ship was in anyway compromised from the start. We were told that our safety was his main concern... We missed Port ARENAS and were given back to our account whatever number they made up. Port Montt was also missed, so to speak... our scheduled arrival was for 8:00 am... that was changed to 1:30 pm (at which time we were still crawling into port). We were tender #3 and at 3:00pm, we hand not been called. We were warned that the last tender leaving port would leave the dock at 6:45pm. How is this visiting Port Montt??? Our celebrity cruise ended in San Antonio. We were hours late arriving and missed our car to Santiago. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we wanted to experience the beauty of South America and thought that this ship could take us there consistent with the stated itinerary. But this is where the old saying, "believe half of what you see..." Celebrity forgot to tell its passengers BEFORE boarding that they were having issues with the propulsion system of the ship and, as a result, times in ports were "revised." Actually, that meant shortened. But there were revisions to revisions to revisions as this Voyage of the Damned progressed. A crew member fell ill and had to evacuated at sea. Unforeseen and most unfortunate. Revision. Rough seas that caused a further slow down in speed. Revision. Missed ports...revisions. But lest we forget the entertainment that was lackluster. A talented production crew that was given material that was corny and a throw back to a time when my grandparents grandparents just might have liked it. There was a great pianist that we enjoyed THREE times because another performer just couldn't go on due to his sickness and some other performer's excuse. Could this cruise director have any originality at all??!! The food? Mediocre. Especially in the cafeteria. Service? Non-existent. We had to ask for a new cabin attendant because the one we had couldn't make a bed the correct way. The Captain (who could even understand what the hell he was saying) was about as un-necessary as one could be. He sounded the evacuation signal to celebrate the Day of the Woman WITHOUT a warning before or an explanation after. This scared more than a few people with whom I was standing who thought it was a real order to head to the lifeboats. When a couple of us went to complain to him, he just laughed and blew us off. I've heard that Celebrity was "a cut above" the others. Maybe that was once the case. But no more. Now, it should just be cut from your list of cruise possibilities. Read Less

We wanted to go to see penguins and visit Antarctic. We were informed by Celebrity 7 days before departure that the ship was having propulsion issues, but we were not allowed to cancel the cruise. We ended up missing 2 and 1/2 ports. There were only four ports of call. We did go to Antarctic, which was great, but we missed seeing any Rookeries for the penguins. This was very disappointing. We were refunded for one port, but we missed 2 1/2 ports. The food was great, the help was wonderful, although I heard they were treated badly with Celebrity. Although the entertainment was good, missing those import shore excursions ruined the trip. Although I would love to go again, this is a very expensive cruise, and the possibility of doing it again is not likely. Celebrity knew there were problems with this ship before we left, but they were not willing to cancel the cruise even though they knew it was going to be shortened. I would encourage anyone who is considering cruising with Celebrity, to cancel if they can and select a different cruise line. Read Less
