Our first cruise, to see the wild life in Alaska was on our bucket list. We were not so sure about cruising being in close confines with lots of people for a week. However, we needn't have worried! We met many lovely people and enjoyed conversing but there was also plenty of space and varieties of venues to share together. One favourite was the Constellation Lounge, great for wildlife spotting - saw turtle, porpoise, dolphins and humpback whales. Another relaxing area was the Cafe Al Bacchio. Delicious coffees etc with delightful waiters and waitresses. The same can be said for the Trellis restaurant. Excellent food and choice, the ultimate for us one night was scallops, followed by lobster tail and Baked Alaska for dessert! Victoria was a delightful sommelier too, and greeted us each evening like long lost friends. The standard of the shows in the theatre were amazing, west end quality - congratulations to the 5 singers, the dancers, acrobats and all the supporting team. There was plenty of opportunity to join in activities but we enjoyed relaxing in areas such as the Rendezvous lounge, again great music by Mr H and Take 5. Lovely venue for a pre-dinner cocktail! We had pre-booked excursions in Icy Straight Point, Juneau and Ketchikan and they all worked like clockwork - saw a brown coastal bear on our walk in the Spasski River valley, enjoyed the Alaska String Band up the Mount Robert's Tramway in Juneau. Went to Mendenhall Glacier, a good visitor centre there. Excellent walk through reserve at Herring Cove, saw black bear fishing for salmon, a river otter etc and Red was a brilliant guide. Dr Ann Burgess's talks were excellent and informative too, especially when we viewed Hubbard Glacier. Read Less

Fifth cruise to Alaska and third on Infinity. We wanted a deal to Alaska and this was it. We are from Vancouver, so this was walk on and walk off and my elderly mother doesn't like to fly anymore. Also, this was the first cruise we had "Elite" status. Part of the deal was we could chose the category but not the cabin, which was fine. The ship is getting old but there are good things and bad things about that. I still really love the charm of the Rendezvous lounge that they don't have on the newer ships. I don't like that they still have curtains in the shower. They kept everything clean and are constantly at work making improvements. The best thing about Celebrity is still the food and the service. It is always first rate. The main dining room is all I need. We had the drink package and even though our wine stewart was kept very busy she (Ingrid) did a fantastic job. Also, we love the Martini bar. The entertainment was better on this cruise and although I didn't like the first production number (disco) it was much better after that. The cruise director Alejandro was very good. The ports were Icy Point Strait, Juneau, and Ketchikan with a trip to the Hubbard Glacier. We have been to all of these places before. This was the first time to Icy Point Strait that it didn't rain and the first time we didn't have to tender which was really nice. Juneau rained but not terribly and we still took the tram up the mountain, saw the eagle and hiked the trails. We came back down, did a little shopping and stopped at the Red Dog Saloon for a beer. If you haven't been here, it is a must stop. In Ketchikan, the weather was warm enough for shorts and t-shirts. We just walked down to Creek Street and wondered through the shops. The Hubbard Glacier was overcast and we didn't get as close as we have before but it is still a wondrous sight and worth the trip every time. We didn't take any excursions because we done them all before but they aren't necessary to enjoy Alaska but I do recommend at least one to make the most of your trip. Read Less

We loved having them as our servers. Also, Derrek was the gentleman that took care of our rooms and he did a wonderful job and was also very kind and helpful. Finally, the Brian James band was absolutely fantastic. We loved listening to them every night. They were very kind, personable and great musicians. The amount of songs they knew was astounding and they did an excellent job of interacting with the people watching. Also I really appreciated the variety of music they played. Wll done Bryan James Band! Also, it is important to note that Aliandero was very funny and we enjoyed him acting as the host for the week! Thank you very much everyone it was a very pleasant experience. Read Less

The sailing date was what we wanted and the ports we wanted as well as the Hubbard Glacier. The port of Vancouver was where we wanted to depart from, the price with the extra's were within our budget. There were myself, my two sisters and our husbands on this cruise. One of my sisters and her husband have sailed with Celebrity 13 or 14 times and had only good things to say about the Cruise Line. This was my the 3rd trip to Alaska for my husband and I but the first for my sisters and brother in laws. Although the weather wasn't exactly the best it didn't keep us from having a good time. The dining room staff was wonderful and deserve much of the credit for the enjoyment we had. A great big thank you to Marika, our head waiter and his assistant waiter Kaspianta, Also Subert the wine sommilier and Sanjeeb the beer sommilier. The entertainment was also very enjoyable Take Five houseband was consistently good. The afternoon impersonator put on a good show. But the nightly entertain in the Celebrity Theatre was outstanding. The Stars of Celebrity were lively and kept us entertained during each of their shows. But the highlight was the Due Destiny on the final evening. It didn't matter what language you speak the music and movement transcended the barriers and the love story shone through. Read Less

I had read so many bad reviews about the ship after booking I was terrified that we were going to have an awful trip and since three other couples were joining us based on my choice I would have felt terrible if all of the bad reviews were true. Instead we had a fantastic trip. I thought the ship was great. The layout was nice. Everything was clean. The staff was very accommodating. Our room steward responded to all of our requests in a timely manner. We ordered room service a couple times and they always delivered as requested in a timely manner and the food was excellent. Our waiter in the Trellis was perfect for our group. We all wanted to adopt him into our family by the end of the trip. The other crew members that we interacted with on the most part were great. There were a couple servers in the buffet that were a bit rude but overall it was a good crew. My biggest complaint was that I felt uncomfortable about not having a drink package. I don't have a need to drink bottled water and actually would rather just stick with filtered water for environmental reasons and at most I have 1-2 alcoholic drinks so I didn't need the drink package. Every time I went to the bar to ask for a glass of water I felt as if it wasn't appropriate. And when I tried to order the "daily drink special" the bartenders didn't know what I was talking about. I know it is added income for the ship and crew when you purchase the drink package but I wish I wasn't made to feel so uncomfortable for opting out. The shows were entertaining. The acrobats on the last day were fantastic. I loved that show. There was always some kind of activity i.e. games, dancing, trivia, pool, spa. We only had 3 port of calls so we spent a lot of time on the ship but I was never bored or lacking for something to do. As a matter of fact, I had brought a book along thinking I was going to sit on my balcony and read but I never had time to do that. The food was fabulous and plentiful. I had no complaints and I was looking for the faults. We didn't go on any shore excursions so I can't rate them. Everything else was excellent. Read Less

After a study of all the Alaska cruises out of Seattle and Vancouver we settled on Infinity out of Vancouver based on itinerary and value looked good because of the drinks packag3 included. Boarding worked quite well but was a bit convoluted. I wasn’t expecting to go through US immigration in the terminal for instance. The ship was in good condition, no complaints about cabin. Main highlight on board for us was the food. We chose freedom dining which didn’t work brilliantly because you couldn’t expect to walk in any time you want. Generally you get a buzzer and then had to wait 20 mins or so. Once in the food was excellent. I am addicted to Celebrity French onion soup. I would do another Celebrity cruise just for that! Lots or bars but they were rather samey. I would like to see a sports bar. The only sports screens were in the casino which was far too big and not the place to sit and watch sports. Entertainment also was really good. Better than I expected. Cruise director was brilliant. Nature and port presentations by Mickey Live were excellent. Loads of good advice. Worst aspect of cruise was excursions. I think it is common on Alaska cruises but they were very expensive and those that I took, not very good. Read Less

This was our 7th cruise on Celebrity dating back to 2007 when we went to the Mediterranean on the Galaxy. Having read some of the reviews and posts about Infinity we were a bit apprehensive about what we would experience during our first time in Alaska, but any concerns we might have had were quickly eliminated. Yes, the ship is showing some age (so are we), but it was clean and it was clear that routine maintenance is being attended to regularly. Every day somewhere on the ship it seemed there was painting or deep-cleaning activity taking place. Although over the years their have been changes in amenities and service (like stationery in the rooms with the ship's name and no towel animals on the bed) we found this cruise to be outstanding. The food ranged from good (buffet) to great (MDR), service in the MDR was without flaw, and our team of Mardika, Budi and Fernando were delightful. Bar service was quite good and the Martini Bar staff was fabulous. On the last day we attended the sommelier's wine-tasting event (hosted by Fernando). It was very entertaining and even though we have done several tastings over the years we learned some really interesting and unexpected things about food pairings with a range of different wines. The stateroom (attended by Dennis) was always kept straight, it almost seemed magical the way he slipped in and out without ever being intrusive. We were in an aft concierge class cabin (the ones with very large balconies) that was perfect for comfortable viewing of the amazing scenery. But, based on our limited experience, any cabin or deck with a view of the Alaska scenery will be memorable (in a good way!). We enjoyed all of the shows and would characterize the three production shows as the best we have ever seen on our cruises. Some of the entertainers, particularly the male singer that tended to be "lead" has serious Broadway/West End potential. The comedians/impressionists were good. While we are usually not big fans of the aerialists, the final night show that featured only them was incredible. The live music, the Celebrity Orchestra and lounge performers, is one feature that we would hate to lose in the future and hopefully as strategies to achieve economies and efficiencies continue to evolve the folks in the Celebrity C-suite will see how important it is to the customer experience. The one "complaint" I have is the recorded music playing throughout the ship. It would be much better if it were a playlist of original artists rather that covers done by one-off musicians/singers. A final note on ports/excursions. Vancouver is worth spending a few days in if you can. The Hubbard glacier is incredible. Whale-watching, in both Hoonah (Glacier Winds) and Juneau (Gastineau Guiding Company booked through Celebrity, guided by Maurenn, Scott and Captain Brandon), was really fun and well-done and the Mendenhall glacier/rain forest hike segment of our Juneau excursion was very interesting and well worth the time and money. But the highlight I think, was the float plane excursion, piloted by Michelle of Island Wings, in Ketchikan. Awesome and unequaled scenery. On to Australia and New Zealand in January! Read Less

Ours was a family cruise. We sailed with two families each with two children, ages 7 -14. There was an excellent balance of onboard activities for the grandchildren and the adults. The bingo turned out to be a family affair. The families enjoyed the various shore excursions, but all agreed the floatplane trip out of Ketchikan with Taquan Air was the highlight of the cruise. If possible ask for Pilot Charles Perkins ( 5 star) . Our cabin attendant was very helpful and always greeted us with a smile and called us by name. All the crew members were delightfully helpful. What was amazing regarding the crew was their enthusiasm if you ask for something and their ability to remember you from day to day. I would not hesitate to recommend this cruise to any of our friends, especially those who want to take a fun trip with their grandchildren. Read Less

This was our tenth cruise (second with celebrity). 3 days in stunning Vancouver prior to alaskan cruise. Embarkation very good. Ship was very well maintained and very clean. Food in main restaurant was excellent, waiter & assistant waitress at our table were very helpful and attentive. Didn't see the head waiter. Food in buffet was also very good. Cabin was spacious with plenty of hanging room and drawers for clothes, balcony was standard. Stateroom attendant friemdly & helpful. There were good seminars onboard. The shows were good and entertainment staff worked hard. The different drinks packages were a little confusing but bar staff were on hand to explain what you were entitled to for the different packages. Gym was good, The women working in the spa & masseurs were friendly and professional. The bar staff in the martini bar were overwhelmed, and people sitting at bar would get served before you unless you were vocal. We asked for a late disembarkation at guest services, with was guaranteed immediately (which meant not having to get up early the last day). The waiter & assistant waitress at trellis (main restaurant) deserve special praise, but cannot remember their names. We were in room 7133 and done the Alaskan Cruise from 02 July 2017, Read Less

I was also very satisfied with the variety of activities like the shows and everything which gave me an absolutely amazing experience in the cruise. everybody was kind, passionate, hard working, and nice and together they gave the passengers a unique and wonderful experience making them want to take the cruise again in the future because of its difference to the other cruises which is the things that i mentioned above. I myself will probably take celebrity infinity again in the future because I know that I will be very satisfied again. The dancers did an amazing job on their performances with absolute high quality work and the acrobats also did an absolutely amazing job which made people clap for them all the time basically. The directors also made people laugh very much. Read Less

We are the first time cruisers and were recommended this company. We liked the cruise and especially the three shore excursions that we had booked through the ship. They had 'naturalist's that were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We saw orcas, humpback whales, seals, bears, mountain goats, and sea lions. We saw bold eagles fishing... The scenery and mountain scapes were breathtaking and glaciers almost indigo blue. The beautiful weather did help. We had a very attentive and helpful waiter Mardica and his assistant Budi - always with a smile. Their suggestions for the evening meal at the Trellis restaurant were spot on. We liked variety at the Oceanview café, but sometime finding a place there was a challenge. The evening theatre performances were engaging. The nature commentary on the 12th floor lounge were very informative. Our cabin caretaker Maurice was always around, cleaning and helping. Celebrity was very efficient in delivering our luggage, that Air Canada delayed. Read Less

We (mom, dad, daughter, son in law and grandson) were on the Infinity for the Hubbard Glacier cruise June 18-25. We spent two fun-filled days in Vancouver prior to the cruise. Our only glitch was a delay in embarkation due to a medical emergency from that morning's departing cruise (at least this was the explanation given for the 45 minute delay). The rest of our cruise was smooth sailing (no pun intended). This was our second Alaskan adventure on a Celebrity ship (Solstice in 2016). The first day Meet and Greet was well attended by officers and crew - a good start to a great cruise! We were in aqua class and our daughter and family were in concierge, This was our second time in aqua class (room 1140 in aft). Our room was well maintained by Kelly, our room steward, and he provided attention to detail the whole trip. We enjoyed talking with him and hearing about life in his home country. One of our party celebrated a birthday during the week, and we were very appreciative of the wine, champagne, and birthday cake. We spent a great deal of time on our spacious balcony and watched some fantastic late night sunsets that continued to glow for hours. Truly an amazing site! Food in both the MDR and Blu was exceptionally good and the service was outstanding. The Oceanview Café had a great menu selection and provided nutritious but varied choices for our 9 year old picky eater. All of our excursions were delightful, but the Misty Fjords boat trip was our favorite. Not only did we view amazing scenery to and from the monument area, but the weather was very cooperative. The boat crew remarked that we were seeing mountain tops that had been shrouded in mist all winter and spring. Even the Monument was extremely clear and didn't live up to its "misty" name. But that was fine with us! We encountered two Orcas on the way to the Monument and they entertained us for 10 minutes, swimming all around our boat area. Allen Marine Tours crew made sure we had a chance to watch the Orcas yet kept our safety in mind as they carefully maneuvered the boat for picture taking. Thank you Allen Marine for providing us this tour of an Alaskan treasure with its tall, steep cliffs, cascading waterfalls and clean mountain type air. I was also impressed with the way the boat captain would take us very close to sleeping seal families (at least six families), but would ask us to remain very quiet while she turned off the boat engine. I felt that we saw the best of the scenery, birds, wildlife etc while still preserving the sanctity of the area. We also enjoyed other excursions - Sea Otter quest, Raptor Center and Bear Fortress in Sitka, Hubbard Glacier in its majesty, Dog sled musher camp in Juneau, Mt Roberts Tram in Juneau. In addition, our daughter and family also participated in gold panning in Juneau and visited Saxman Park in Ketchikan. Our 9 year old grandson is still talking about the exciting excursions, especially the dog camp in Juneau! On board life was very exciting especially the evening entertainment. Alejandro, cruise director, needs to be thanked for his tireless effort to keep us entertained! The performances were first class and the live band was a definite plus. Mario, destination concierge , made sure we were provided valuable information about our upcoming ports and the Hubbard Glacier. Mickey Live also gave very informative presentations about the ports and wildlife. He narrated sunrise presentations about the wildlife in various areas as we cruised. Unfortunately, we never made it to those early morning presentations, but heard that they provided some superb wildlife viewing. Chelsea also provided enlightening information about what wildlife we would see and interesting facts about many mammals and birds in the area. The Beyond the Podium presentations are a class act Celebrity! We also were the recipients of a DVD of photography taken by fellow cruisers. Mickey's wife provided technical expertise to those of us who are amateur photographers by downloading four photos from each participant and producing a DVD of the pictures (Snapshot Rally). Thank you, Janelle for sharing your technical skills. Now we have a treasure chest of photos from this trip! Lastly, thank you Kids' Club staff for entertaining our 9 year old grandson. He begged to go back to Kids' Club as soon as we returned from our excursions or finished with dinner. He made new friends and was never bored! We were afraid that Celebrity might not have the bells and whistles to keep him entertained, but he thoroughly enjoyed himself. Did we enjoy our cruise - You bet! Would we cruise Celebrity again - of course! Read Less

I would ask anyone who may have a negative review to try to put in perspective what the crew goes through on a daily basis. The crew often begin their days before 7:00 am and work late into the night. They are working 6-8 months straight away from their families. Celebrity is a great cruise line and it is always a pleasure to sail on Celebrity ships. The crew are pleasant and very accommodating. We had an excellent experience onboard. The Mickey Live program was great and really made the cruise for us. He is so knowledgeable about the wildlife in the area and knows how to use technology to enhance the experience. We joined his early morning program in the Celebrity Lounge - most mornings at 7:00 a.m.. Because he showed us what to look for we luckily sighted several whales, some sea lions and porpoises. Another great experience was in Icy Strait where the Tlingit people shared their rich cultural background. I particularly enjoyed the high school students of the village who told the stories of the Tlingit people. We were so lucky to have such a clear and bright day when we visited the Hubbard Glacier. Again, thanks to Mickey, we received a great deal of information about how glaciers calve and were able to experience it repeatedly. This is a great cruise for those who love nature and have an appreciation for or wish to learn more about the aboriginal peoples of the area. Read Less

The weather co-operated and the stops were great to Ketchikan and Juneau, The only down we had was the alaskan king crab lunch upstairs on the top deck, was cold and served all at once, felt rushed, was the only meal we did not enjoy much. Other than that, no complaints! The cruise met my expectations, and the food and most of the entertainment exceeded them. I was a little disappointed that the last two nights they only had karaoke instead of an end of cruise party. Turned out the big event and highlight meal was on Thursday night (we docked Sunday morning). We didn't know so missed both as it had been a long day in Juneau. Only minor quibbles otherwise, thought elderly lady "naturalist" lectures a bit flakey. It was sell sell sell and drinks expensive, to push you toward packages which were absurd prices. We didn't book shore excursions through cruise so we could judge weather Alaska can be wet. This was good as we did the flat plane over the glaciers from Juneau on a lovely afternoon. If we'd booked ahead and done it the next day in the rain it would have been far worse. To be fair though the cruise excursion was not much more 19$than from the shore. We took 35$ shuttle to Mendenhall which was fantastic, then did Brewery tour which was also great and fantastic value tried 11 beers (3 for tasting then each could choose 4 ,5oz glasses. Then mellow did the floatplane over 5 glaciers perfect. Wet in Ketchikan,(in fact wettest town in Alaska with 168" of rain per year!! but pleasant enough walked creek st and then did town totem museum. Icy strait also pleasant but quiet as arrived late in day so closed up. Most notable were the number of bald eagles flying round the town Read Less

We chose this as a recommendation from friends. It was reasonably affordable and offered above and beyond service by all attendants on the ship. Super clean. Excellent food! We were offered a window seat every evening in the dining room. The drink/ wine prices were very reasonable, in fact so much that it didn't make any sense to purchase a drinks package. So much fun at the Headphone Parties!! The 2 Excursions were very good and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Juneau River Rafting and Ketchikan Misty Fijords Seaplane. Two complaints. 1st is that the coffee is the worst I've ever had. This was a big disappointment as I really appreciate a very good morning cup of coffee. The café ( which was a separate charge) had better coffee, but still not great. How hard can it be to offer good coffee? 2nd complaint is that the cell phone service (unknowingly to me) searches a primary source. If at sea it will go directly to Celebrity cell service at $7 per minute. So, if the ship service was stronger than AT&T I was charged $7 by my carrier because they were charged by the ship. That made for a big phone bill when I received my mobile phone bill ( who was willing to negotiate a discount). Read Less

Celebrity Infinity May 2017 Background- Total of about 35 cruises, ~30 with Celebrity, last few were all on Solstice class ships. Route-We started in San Diego and moved up the coast ending in Vancouver, 7 stops in 11 nights, also doing an overnight in San Francisco, each city stunning in its own right. They couldn’t have picked a better itinerary, and we were only touched by rain one time in our journey which lasted about an hour, luckily that was on a sea day, so it affected nothing other than missing an hour in a lounge chair Boarding Boarding in San Diego was hectic. Two ships Infinity and Disney Magic) were boarding the same day and port didn’t seem well equipped to handle more than one. Once we made it past the security screening all was fine and smooth but did take about 1-2 hours to get to that point. We purposely arrived later in the day to avoid crowds (boarding started about 11, we arrived at 2), but still chaotic. 6/10 (but Celebrity’s portion 9/10) Cabin I initially booked a C3 for this voyage bit a few weeks before a Suite Guarantee became available for a nominal $600 so I grabbed it since it also included the 4 perks, so I ended up in an S2 on deck 6. The room was nicely maintained and updated (Infinity was refurbished in 2011), and carpets were changed again 2 years ago. The Sky suites are a bit smaller on the Millenium class that the Solstice class (250 vs 300ft2), but plenty of room for two people. Small balcony as well with a few chairs was great. Only negative I found with the suite was the combination bathtup/showers limited height. If you are tall it’s a bit awkward, as is just climbing in the high wall of the tub. Heard a few people that had sky and Celebrity suites complain unless you are tall it’s hard to climb into the tub/shower. Plenty of closet space, drawers and storage, so much so that I only used about ½ of it. Did like the little touches, the plush bath towels, great sheets, and that the room attendant and butler introduced themselves the first day. Cabin service was excellent. Never used the room service, but cabin was serviced twice a day and butler checked in 3x a day, and canapes delivered daily at about 4PM 9/10 Excursions Took two of the ships excursions and good ROI (return on investment on both). We visited the Reagan library in Santa Barbara and whale watching in Victoria. The tendering operation was a bit frustrating for some as we tendered in two ports, and some were getting antsy about the lines, but I think that’s just a part of cruising. Always amazed how crabby some people get over little things beyond their control. I do wish they would re-write the explanations on excursions details though. It just seems like every excursions details include two much flowery generic prose that could be found in a tourist publication and not really any nuts and bolts detail of nuts & bolts of the tour (how much time will we spend on bus, what places are we visiting, are we going to be sidetracked to a pottery place to try and sell us trinkets?). I wish it was more of a bulleted time line of what, where, when and how long. 7/10 Food & Dining Main Trellis Dining Room-Didn’t try it Sushi on 5-Didn’t try it Blu- Tried it once enjoyed it-Seemed to me to be a mini-me version of the MDR with smaller portions and a few different selections, nicer more intimate atmosphere than MDR. 7/10 Luminae-We dined the majority of our meals here. Can’t say any negatives about it. Truly a 100% positive experience. Service OUTSTANDING, by the second day everyone on staff knows your name and has the atmosphere of a place you’ve been dining out for decades. Food well prepared, original, seasoned and cooked to order. Their recommendations were generally spot on. The menu consisted of about 4 or 5 appetizer/soup/salad dishes and about the same in main courses. You could also order off the MDR menu if something didn’t catch your eye, but most meals I found the Luminae selection to be the better quality choice. Not even once did I find myself waiting for service, a course, or a table. Efficient, friendly and great attention is given to everything. Only open on sea days for lunch which makes sense, since when they have tried to keep it open every day (on past cruises), as it sits empty unless it’s a sea day. 10/10 Qsine-It’s a fun playful experience and you always end up with a lot more food than you can ever imagine. My only negative is that since you use the Ipads to select your dishes, would it be two difficult to have them connected to the waiter? It just seems silly that put all these inputs into a computer and ultimately the waiter comes and writes them down on a slip of paper. Bravo to Qsine for the way they handle vegan/vegetarian dishes. One person in our party, preferred vegan/vegetarian, and for just about every dish we ordered that contained meat or seafood, he offered our friend a meat/dairy/etc/etc/etc free version of the same or similar items. Truly astounded me on how the waiter kept track of the ultimately 20+ or so different dishes that he bought the three of us. 8/10 Tuscan Grille-It was awesome, had dinner one night with Captain and 8 other guests, and last night dined with the Hotel Director and three friends, and it was fabulous. I savored every bite of every dish. Filet Mignon was fantastic (as for the brown mushroom sauce for it), the plate on Antipasto (prosciutto, sopressata, salami and cheeses was heavenly). Again in Tuscan my one friend’s dietary requests were adjusted to give him alternates to the meat heavy menu. The establishment itself has a great ambience, nice old world Italian steak house design. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Like Luminae it’s a great restaurant to have a conversation in. Tables and seating are set up so you’re not having to raise your voice to speak at someone at the other end. 10/10 Oceanview Grill- Ate their twice for breakfast and a few times for lunch It’s hit or miss. I like the salads, fresh fruit and ice cream. Pizza’s are limp right out of the oven rather than crisp (I’m used to New York pizza which the Gold standard), a few of the dishes were good, but nothing really memorable. They do a great job of bussing tables, and making sure people aren’t waiting for tables. 8/10 Bars & Lounges-Great smiling faces at them all. Most of the cruise critic events were held at the Constellation Lounge on deck 11. Especially though that Istavan from Hungary was fantastic. Superb fun bartending group overall. Erik and Dian fantastic at Michaels club. Didn’t spend much time at sunset or martini bar though, so hard to give you good feedback on those. 9/10 Entertainment Was fun that they did the silent disco a few times, I think it’s a slam dunk win even if you don’t participate, and just watch the fun. Alejandro did a good job, and the activities team really seemed to enjoy getting people involved in everything from bingo, to trivia, to mock game shows. Always enjoy the Celebrity dancers and singers, the material is usually dated, but their vigor and enthusiasm makes it fun to watch. Liked some of the guest performers, magician was funny, and always fun when you see them tailor their act to audience a bit, and make it interactive. 7/10 Spa Tried an 80 minute massage, it was OK. They always try for the upsell though. 80 minute massage DISCOUNTED rate was ~$200, then if you want hot stones during it, that’s ~$30 more. I’m a massage junkie at home, and this was pretty good but not very good 6/10 Crew In a word-OUTSTANDING. Captain Berdos and Hotel Director(HD) Bosco Pires work together like a well oiled machine. Their personalities are similar and I think so is their work ethic, excellence performance. I can’t say enough good things about them and their management style. Rest of the department heads outstanding as well. The housekeeping manager, the F&B director, guest relations manager, restaurant managers all go out of their way to keep passengers happy. Kirsty the Captains club host also spectacular as was the event coordinator. The excellence of the senior managers rolls down to the staff which seems totally engaged in guest satisfaction. The senior staff attended every event that we had from Captains Club to CC, to informal gatherings, and were always asking what they can do to make things better. Great sign of an engaged group of men and women. One of the stories I heard from the HD I thought was surprising. He told me he found being a HD on a Millenium class ship more challenging then on a Solstice class ship. I would of though since Solstice having more dining venues, more passengers, more lounges and staterooms it would be tougher. He went on to eloquently explain that because the Solstice class ships have all the “bells and whistles” (my words not his, his explanation was much more poetic), it makes it easier from a guest relations standpoint. The older ships it takes some extra marketing and extra effort to make them a competitor, and he enjoys that extra challenge of showing any product he is currently serving aboard. Really enjoyed our talks as much as the meals. 10/10 Overall-I’d give the cruise 5 stars. Any minor things I pointed out were minor in comparison to all the great things that the team onboard does to keep you happy. You know it’s been an excellent cruise when you’re two biggest complaints were that Voicemail in my room didn’t work Internet was slow I already have my next voyage booked on Infinity for February of 2018, so see I put my money where my mouth is I’ll end the review with this story the Captain read on the public address system the last day, it’s called “Why I want to be a Captain” and was written by an 10 year old British boy. “I want to be a captain when I grow up because it’s a cool job that is easy to do. Captains don’t have to go to school such a long time. They only need to learn figures so they can read instruments. I think they also have to able to read maps so they don’t get lost when they sail. Captains have to be brave so they don’t get scared when it’s so foggy they can’t see and when the propeller falls off they have to know what to do about it. Captains must have eyes that can see through the clouds and they mustn’t be afraid of thunder and lightning which they have closer to them than we have. The captain’s wages is another thing I like. They earn more money than they can spend. That’s because most people think it’s dangerous to driver a boat, except captains, because they know how easy it is. There’s not much I don’t like, except that girls like captains. All girls want to marry a captain, so captains are always having to chase them away to get some peace… I hope I don’t get seasick, because if I get seasick I can’t be a captain and I’ll have to start working.” Read Less

We are loyal Celebrity customers, second time in the last year on the Infinity itself. This cruise was another experience that makes us want to continue with this. We can't say enough about the great service and spectacular crew, Everyone from bathroom attendants to officers were friendly and made you feel like every detail was truly important to them. The menus are lacking on creativity a bit on some days and as others have said the Infinity could use a little facelift. Those small factors, however, are so minute compared to the excellent overall experience provided that they are easy to overlook. We especially appreciate the great job that they do with gluten free alternatives for celiac passengers like me. The speciality restaurant Tuscan Grille is a great alternative to the main dining room occasionally, especially on longer cruises like this. Their menu and quality is exceptional. Definitely recommend both this ship and Celebrity in general for a wonderful vacation experience. Read Less

We took the cruise to fulfill a desire to transit the Panama Canal. Crew was very courteous and attentive to our needs. Our cabin was clean and efficient with a balcony to sit and view what was happening outside. We broke Aqua class and got some nice perks - special dining, access to Persian Garden Spa, and other nice things. Main Dining Room (Terrace) was too crowded and noisy for our taste. Really enjoyed Blu as a place to eat. Qsine was predictably outstanding - we ate there with a group of 10 and it was a blast. We also ate at Tuscan Grille and it, too, was outstanding. Entertainment was spotty - some really excellent and other acts just so-so. One of the lecturers was outstanding (Bill Fall). He talked about the many intricacies of the Panama Canal and gave us a much better understanding and insight of the engineering and operation of the Canal. We booked shore excursions separate from this offered by the ship (we used Viator) and found them much better than the ship tours - smaller groups, more time at an attraction, and excellent guides. We definitely will book Celebrity again. We don't need to do this cruise but others are very attractive. Read Less

This was a wonderful cruise! The age of fellow cruisers was a bit older than I expected and found that I was in the young crowd at the age of 50. The fellow cruisers were a great mix of people from around the world. So many interesting and fun people on board. Many of the stops were a first for me and the transit through the Panama Canal was very interesting. I would definitely recommend this cruise itinerary to others. I was not as thrilled with Guatemala and Costa Rica, however, it was one of those life experiences that I've got under my belt. Debarkation at San Diego went off without a hitch and I was on board within half an hour. Cabins were ready around 1:30 and I set off to find my cabin. Near the forward elevators in a convenient area. My bags did not come to my room until almost 10 pm. This was a first for me, normally I've received my bags straight away. The sea days were calm and relaxed, and although the pool deck was busy, you could always find a lounge chair somewhere. The buffet was very good, And the Trellis restaurant was excellent. I wish the stops at Cabo and Puerto Vallarta had been longer. Had wonderful excursions at both stops snorkeling. There's nothing close to the port in Guatemala and if I go there again I would not get off the ship. Too hot and extreme poverty and garbage everywhere. Costa Rica was hot, however the boat ride to see the crocodiles was really interesting. Saw a lot of birds. The transit through the Panama Canal was very interesting and the guide did a fabulous job of narrating all day. We were an hour late docking in Curaçao due to the winds, however we were granted a departure one hour later than planned. Curaçao was beautiful as always and Mambo beach did not disappoint. Debarkation in Ft Lauderdale was fine and I was soon at the airport for the flight home. Read Less

We choose it because we had booked it some years ago and lost it due to missing the plane and my Husband was a engineer and the interest was the Canal . We had to save for it again due to the loss of the money before. We found the flight from Newark to San Diego very uncomfortable due to the fact we had no entertainment and we had packed our Kindles in our suitcase we were also allocated two seats separated this was adjusted by my Husband when he found two vacant seats behind. We are also in dispute with the Sheraton Hotel who charged us for items we did not use during our stay with them. We enjoyed our stay on the ship and found it a very friendly ship meeting many interesting people. The entertainment was excellent we enjoyed every show and it was very high class. The dining was excellent and we were looked after with great attention and warmth. Some of the excursions we went on were excellent . Read Less

This was a repositioning cruise so although there were no other cost saving perks enticing us to book the initial price was attractive and the locations traveled to irrisitable. Having a chance to see Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Columbia and Panama was a chance not to be missed. We have enjoyed a Celebrity Cruise once in the past and very much enjoyed it - this one was just as good. Fantastic food/drink, service from a friendly but unobtrusive staff, and luxurious accommodations made it once again a wonderful vacation. The restaurant served varied and very tasty gourmet meals and the buffet was a delicious option for casual eating as well. Our room was looked after by Elmer from the Philippines and amongst others Krishna, Nester provided us with excellent personalized service at various bars. The room was comfortable, spotless, and we spent many hours enjoying the sun and views from our balcony. We highly recommend Celebrity Cruises. Read Less

Fascinating places, great on board service, good excursions! Interesting mix of passengers with around 50% being Spanish speaking only! Good cabin with great balcony, ideal for viewing the transit through the Panama Canal at close quarters. Would recommend this cruise. Food was good in all resteraunts, Quiisine was definitely a strange experience with too much food but it was great entertainment. Our waiter Osman in the Trellis dining room was exceptionally courteous and helpful. He did everything to accommodate our need and the needs of the other 4 diners at our table. The Colombian wine waiter (Fernando?) was very knowledgable and always had a smile for us! The young assistant waiter was very attentive. The entertainment was good especially Antonio Salci the pianist and resident band fantastic. Karen Grainger the singer / impressionist provided an entertaining show as did the Celebrity singers and dancers. We enjoyed our holiday very much. Read Less

We found this cruise allowed us to see places we wouldn't normally be able to see. We went to the Atacama Desert, the driest place on Earth.we also were in the heat and humidity of equatorial countries. The diversity was great ! On board we were very pleased with the alternative restaurants. The Tuscan Grill provided homemade pasta, incredibly delicious steak, and delicious seafood. Sushi on 5 was excellent ! The service was attentive, and recommended dishes were great ! We loved going to Qsine, a dining experience all of its own. It was fun, inventive, and a wonderful way to try a variety of unique dishes. The Trellis Diningroom provided a delicious variety of options every night. The service was excellent In all of the dining venues ! We took advantage of the classes on using iPhones and iPads . They were offered on sea days, and gave great tips on using different apps and helped you get the most out of your camera and editing tools. Classes in cooking, dancing, painting, and much more were also available. It was a really fun and interesting cruise . Read Less
