My husband and I have sailed many times with Silversea. We have now been on all but the newest ship, the Muse. We always wanted to book an Owners' Suite and this short cruise was a perfect opportunity. The amenities and little extras were very appreciated. Our every wish was fulfilled. Because the cruise was only 3 days, we did not participate in any of the shore excursions. There is plenty to do onboard and we also had free wi-fi. I had my own Ipad along and enjoyed using it onboard. The weather was perfect and the seas were calm the whole time period. Disembarkation was a very smooth process and we were on our way home by 8:30am. We are, of course, Venetian Society members and will continue to sail with Silversea in the future. They offer very nice discounts for onboard booking of future cruises. For longer cruises, they offer Society members with 100+ nights gratis laundry service. Read Less

We were there for purely for pleasure; getting pampered with superior service. The staff is superb and eager to please; this certainly makes up for a few minor things that were less than perfect. There appear to be small areas that suggest a management drive to reduce the cost of operating. Examples include (a) a very narrow selection of beer options (without paying extra) (b) nightly show room entertainment limited to a group six singers (who were quite talented) (c) enrichment was limited to one lecturer. Other minor distractions were the nightly menu in the main dining room does not provide information for guests to know that there are "anytime" options always available. The merchandise in the "boutique" is very narrow and "pricey"; there used to be some affordable interesting items. The evening menu in La Terraza is continuing to be strictly Italian cuisine; it would be nice if Silversea reverted to the style of the early days when the nightly menu's were varied and we could experience different styles of food. As is the case for most cruise lines, the shore excursions are generally overpriced. Read Less

We love Silver Sea and usually are not disappointed. The timing for us on this cruise was after major hurricanes hit the islands, so there were fewer excursions and less activities available. St. Bart's was particularly disappointing since very few shops were open on Sunday and many were still damaged and not able to be open anyway. The butler feature that Silver Sea offers is usually something we brag about since you feel very special having someone wait on you and they personalize your service. However on this cruise, our butler was not very attentive. He was very pleasant and was always asked if everything was ok, but we had to ask him to remove a breakfast tray of dishes late in the afternoon, and one day had to ask for towels since they were missing. Our travelling companions in the room next door kept asking for ice because he didn't keep the bucket full. He did not offer to unpack or pack our bags. I don't expect this type of butler service to be the general case, but we were slightly disappointed. The small ships are the way to go for us, as the staff gets to know you very quickly and there are no long waiting lines for anything. We thought the food and wine was excellent. The entertainment was very good. Read Less

The food was excellent and all the staff everywhere on the ship were friendly, learned ur names and were eager to help. Our Butler was at our service and our room was always very clean and in order. We met some nice people from around the world and made some new friends. I must also mention there were no lines anywhere. What a pleasure that was. The cruise director made a point to speak to everyone and even had dinner with us one night. Sailing on a smaller ship without all the masses really makes a difference and I hope that I will be able to do it again soon. I would choose Silver Seas for sure and would try to make it a longer cruise. Thank you Silver Seas for my wonderful trip! Read Less

This cruise was chosen because it was convenient with bridge and hosts. Bridge was fair to poor and not enough players. The teacher was uninteresting. Food was best of over 50 cruises. La Terazza, the Italian restarant could hold its own in N.Y. or Italy with great food and super service, as well as a wide variety of wines. Crew was excellent, accomodating and very pleasant except for poor customer relations officer. Outstanding cruise director. entertainment fair at best (except cruise directors show - wonderful). All was musically themed and mostly boring. The 2 enrichment lectures were very good Construction on pool deck entire trip was very disturbing. We should have been given an opportunity to change voyages in advance. The money did not make it right. Excellent gentleman host. food service and bar service terrific. Choices of alcoholic beverages especially wine was top notch and included. I have booked 2 more on Silversea. Read Less

Wanted a relaxing, quiet cruise to Caribbean but instead experienced a nightmare. Silversea had preplanned a renovation of the pool deck prior to the cruise commencing without any prewarning so we could choose an alternative. The work involved installed two large tents over parts of the deck where Contractors flown in from Italy ripped up the deck, put down new teak and then large sanders . The noise initially started at 8 am however hotel director eventually only allowed them to start work from 10am .whilst they stopped work for a couple of hours midday to enable the deck food to be served frankly the noise was appalling and very few ventured out onto the pool deck when they worked. The passengers queued up to complain but advised that “shore personnel” had insisted the non emergency work should proceed irrespective of passenger complaints. The Captain and Hotel director tried to stop it but failed.passengers were treated with contempt. We have travelled over 100 days with silversea and will never ever set foot again on one of their ships to be treated this way. Noise from the deck work could also be heard inside our cabin and verandah deck. Hopeless on a Caribbean hot cruise. Inside the Panama a lounge was used to sell fine art- a downmarket activity suited to lower class ships. Food was boring and menus were similar most days. No hot deserts except final night which was inedible. Silversea has lost the plot. Need to go back to basics and decide what they want to be. Clear they are trying to cut costs to compete. All in all after over 70 cruises with a number of ships this was the worst cruise ever. Read Less

I selected this cruise due to itinerary and the flight purchase inclusion. I had never experienced 'all inclusive cruising' and was not disappointed. There was an issue that I've taken to corporate; feel it was an anomaly and am disappointed it hasn't been fully addressed to date. Barring that and ship repairs that interrupted the entire cruise on the pool deck, I would love to have an unblemished experience in the future. The staff is incredible and their attention to each person aboard is to be commended. My Butler Mae, our sommelier Marco and everyone in La Terrazzo , the fitness leader Katerina were above outstanding. Jeffrey in the Panorama Lounge was very entertaining and very accommodating. I dined in the dining room only a few times and they address me by name - appreciated! I enjoyed out Bridge instructors and the lessons. I am remiss at remembering all of the names of the staff I would like to commend. Silversea, please address the unpleasantness of the suite issue. I want to recommend this line to all! Read Less

Loved my last and first Silversea cruise 5 years ago and was hoping my second one would be as wonderful----it was not. For some stupid reason the company and captain decided to replace some of the pool deck while at sea on the cruise (there was no immediate need to fix or replace and after they almost finished---it didn't look much different than before). It was EXTREMELY disrupted with 1/4 of the deck closed in certain areas the entire cruise. Noise of electric sanders, hammers, construction workers talking was VERY Loud. The noise at certain times would clear out the entire level of people using the pool to go to another deck or back to their cabin. There were limited pool deck lounge chairs due to this the entire cruise. They closed the entire pool deck the last evening of the cruise so they could clean the entire pool deck area getting ready for a company that reserved the ship for a cruise starting the next day, The pool and jacuzzis were closed along with the Steak Rock Grill the last night---ridiculous!!! The crew and many staff supervisors had no idea why this construction was going on and all said it should have been done when the ship was to get refurbished very very soon. The crew were getting hundreds of complaints---and it took to about 4/5 of the cruise while this was going on to the ship to apologize for all the inconveniences---and offered some future cruise credit. No reason this should have been going on during the cruise. I sent pictures and video of all of this on many of the days to Silversea from my travel agent and never personally heard back from them. Oliver the bartender was the best bartender/staff member I've ever seen on 46 cruises---he was also the best entertainer on the ship. The luxury catamaran excursion in St. Lucia was absolutely Wonderful. The rum distillery excursion in Grenada was the worst excursion I've ever been on. Would have been a fantastic cruise if it wasn't for the construction going on at the pool deck every single day of the cruise. Read Less

The Silversea cruise had some positives, namely very nice staff and excellent food choices. The exercise classes offered were good. The cabin was nice. I had high hopes as this company is more reputable than the cruise I had been on before. This was family get together, and special trip for 86 year old mother in law. She was disappointed, got sick and will not go on another cruise. Embarkation and disembarkation was fine, the cabin was lovely, some of the places we stopped at were very nice but you need to do your research beforehand and plan trips in advance, as the ports themselves are sometimes uninteresting and even dangerous if you just walk off.The entertainment was dreadful, really unprofessional. The pooldeck was being renovated during the cruise, so for much of the time there was noise, dust and dangerous cables lying across the pooldeck, very dangerous and not nice at all for people wanting to relax poolside. There seemed to be no O,H and S in operation here. Pretty shocking really. Read Less

We hate to fly, so this cruise attracted us because we could drive to NY and avoid one flight. Sailing out of NY Harbor at sunset is an incomparable experience. Destinations were well chosen and sailing was quite smooth - little motion. Food quality was excellent and service above average. Selection of house wines and premium wines was very good. Bar service excellent. We spent 3-4 days at sea, and wished there have been better structured meet & mingle events at the beginning so we could bond with other couples for the remainder of the cruise. Biggest downer was very limited TV, nothing but news channels and ESPN - no movies and the DVD's in the library were awful. Public Rooms and Restaurants nicely decorated & appointed. The Gym was barely adequate and some equipment wasn't working. We only used tender service at one destination (St. Barts) it would have been nice to have published schedule of Tender departures. (We missed opportunity to dine ashore because we arrived too late for the tender.) Read Less

We selected this cruise to be pampered a little and to see the fall colors in Canada and the east coast. We were lucky because the fall colors were late this year. Embarkation was smooth, however, they were a little late getting our bag to the cabin ~ lost one for awhile due to someone taking the tag off! An added bonus was that we had the best cruise director ever, Vicki Van Tassel - she was funny and talented. Even though we encountered some delays due to weather we still had a good time while traveling! We found that all of the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and always went out of their way to assist us in any way they could. The food was good, in all of the restaurants, had a couple of excellent meals and others were average. The Silver Singers were great and we didn't miss a show! We chose this cruise to travel with friends who are disabled seniors ; the line advertises many handicap accessible excursions. NOT! Only one stop could accommodate a wheel chair rolling off; other stops required being carried in a wheelchair down two very steep outdoor flights of stairs that were very frightening, especially slick and wet. Also, the elevator to the upper decks was out most of the trip, so our friends could not join us in the spa, library, observation deck, etc. Disembarkation was terrible in the end because they would not help us off the ramp (apparently a union issue) and there were high thresholds to navigate. The ship decor was very dated; definitely in need of a refresh, especially to clean the carpets in public areas. The room was spacious and had good lighting. The deck chairs were not comfortable at all; not a lounge where you could lie and enjoy the sea. The TV had very limited selections and no live streaming/channels carried the World Series. Many cruisers were grumbling about this! Internet service in the cabin was pretty good, but in this day and age, for this price cruise, it's pretty insulting to have to pay for it as an add on. The toilets in a nearby cabin overflowed several times leaving the smell of urine in the hall despite the best efforts of the crew to clean up. The personal butler was the only highlight of the trip. Service was professional, friendly, and prompt. We often chose to have dinner as room service because dinner in the restaurants took a minimum of two hours, but room service was prompt. The food was good and plentiful, but pretty much as expected on a cruise, nothing outstanding. While the line advertises the cruises are all inclusive, going to the spa was a nightmare of literally being assaulted at the door by people trying to sell these flimsy orthotic inserts for shoes. I also witnessed an elderly woman with a stroke being aggressively browbeaten to sign up for Pilates, despite her insistence that her balance made it unsafe. I chose not to return to the spa after my first visit because of the high pressure sales people who destroyed the calming atmosphere one hopes to find in a spa. It was fortunate that we spent extra time in both Montreal and NYC at the beginning and end of the trip because we had good handicap accessible services and enjoyed touring. On the trip, bad weather cancelled our stops in PEI, Portland, Boston, Newport. So, essentially, we spent most of the days docked in Halifax and then rushed back to NYC. Being in port meant no casino and no shopping on the ship and there essentially were no additional activities added. To finally add insult to injury, when our ship was able to start sailing back to NYC at sea for a whole day, they drained the pool and started cleaning it with foul smelling chemicals, eliminating the only day we could have enjoyed the upper deck in good weather. Their priority , from the moment the storm hit, was clearly to get ready for the next cruise. We were a lost cause. While the line is not responsible for bad weather, to ruin the last day at sea was inexcusable. Read Less

My wife, son and I booked this cruise to celebrate my 50th birthday and traveled in suites 702/704. We are frequent Silversea cruisers and we actually hit our 100th day during this voyage. All I can say is that Silversea is still a top-notch luxury cruise vacation. I know many people may not be happy as a tropical storm forced us to miss 4 of the ports (Madeleine Islands, Portland, Boston, Newport) we were scheduled to go to, but I appreciate the focus on our safety. Now for the finer details... Our suite was beautiful and our suite attendant, Ravin, was excellent! we had breakfast every morning in our suite and the food and presentation was always stellar. The entire crew and staff were truly wonderful and should be recognized for their hospitality and friendliness. I do want to highlight the cruise director Vicky who is refreshing and the best cruise director we've had on SS. We appreciate her down to earth and funny disposition as we've had some who were a bit stuffy. We also loved Oliver who is both the bartender and entertainer-- he is truly amazing and made our cruise more enjoyable!! The food and entertainment were quite good and a "shout out" to Nicolas, the F&B manager, who was able to have the pastry chef make me some rum raisin ice cream as it has been removed from the standard ice cream selections. There are additional staff that should be highlighted but there are too many for this post. Only 2 pieces of constructive feedback. There were 2 cooking demonstrations but we were told there was a technological issue that did not allow the demo to be filmed and shown on the screens as customary. Please try to fix this and keep doing these demos as they are great! The other feedback I would give is that Silversea should consider how to relax the formal approach that still exists. Your younger clientele (and some older too) do not want to dress up during their vacation. I noticed this on formal nights when the dining room was half full and in talking to fellow passengers. I know there must be a real struggle but I also believe there might be a solution. Perhaps, on formal nights you could open the dining room early and have it be less formal from 6-8 so those of us who want to just throw a blazer on can go dine early and then hit the bar/casino. Those who want to don their tuxedos/gowns can then take over after 8. Just a thought (and i know many formal folks will disagree) but I am sure there are other options too. Please consider! Overall a great cruise! I highly recommend! Read Less

First time sailing on Silverseas and we expected a very nice trip. Cabin was fine, on par with Regent, just not as new. Having a butler was nice. Food was at best mediocre. There were really only 2 restaurants to choose from (weather was so cool, pool side dining was not comfortable). Menus changed only every 3 days. Breakfast buffet was pretty much the same every day. Lunch buffet varied, however, there were few healthy choices. On board activities were extremely limited and did not feel any real enthusiasm from the entertainment department. This cruise would be good for someone who wanted to stay in their cabin and be pampered, very little else to recommend it. I understand some of the lighting system was being reworked which limited what was available to offer for entertainment. This was a real problem when we missed 4 of 8 ports. They advertised this cruise as going to Prince Edward Island, we received a notice the week before we left that this would not be possible due to whale migration activity. Upon boarding, we found that none of the cruises this year had been able to go to Prince Edward Island for the same reason. The alternate port offered required tendering. Because of weather, we could not tender. It is my understanding that only half the cruises attempting to tender there were able to do so. Very disappointing. Read Less

We have always wanted to visit the ports of Quebec, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island as well as the New England. Unfortunately, due to a huge storm ( similar to the one in the movie "A Perfect Storm") we were unable to visit most of the ports on our itinerary. Cruise line gave us a small credit toward a future cruise and did their best to keep us entertained while we remained docked in Halifax, NS ( which by the way is an awesome town). Guess we will have to revisit the missed provinces on another visit and hope for better weather. Cruise director, cabin attendants and wait staff were all outstanding. The ships size is very nice and getting on and off the ship went very smoothly. Embarkation from NYC was lovely seeing the city light up as we cruised out of the harbor past the Statue of Liberty. We’ve been on 8 cruises and we were disappointed there was no food/buffet on the pool level as we cruised out of the harbor as there was on all past cruises. We found the ship to be very, very tired. It definitely needs updating. Our suite was nice and spacious (we had a high category suite) but again it needed pizazz and updating. We found service to be very good, no complaints there. We found the food quality for the most part to be very mediocre and disappointing. The food and service at LA Dame though was better, although you did have to pay an extra $60. Per person. Wine prices and selection were quite good and the wine prices very fair. This was only our second cruise on Silversea and it will be our last. All our other cruises have been on Regent which we find far superior. I must add that our last cruise in April was on Regent’s newest ship, which is so over the top! The chandeliers, artwork and sculptures were just amazing. We stopped at 10 ports of which 6 were interesting, I have no idea why they stopped at the other 4. I also thought the excursion prices were too high. Again, on Regent excursions are free. Read Less

Itinerary. Also with a group of 20 friends from around the world. Our fall trip to visit and see each other. Cabin was nice and well maintained by steward. Butler was pleasant. Food was ordinary and repetitive. Service was something to be desired. Specialty restaurant wasn’t worth the additional cost. Food orders were mixed up, food was served lukewarm, desserts were totally lost on the servers iPad and had to redo. Lot of time between courses. Breakfast was the same each day regardless of where it was served. Only tour that was really great was Peggy’s Cove—and we paid for tours. Did kayaking and nothing about wet suits being provided—would have dressed differently. One piece of luggage was in cabin when we arrived. Second piece was delivered almost 4 hours later after a call to reception. No explanation. Disembarkation was smooth and organized. Entertainment was mainly singing. Dress code outdated. On the two formal nights, men wore jackets until seated and then removed them. Very few restaurants in the states and other countries require formal wear or jackets. Our expectations were high since we had heard f8ne comments and also the high rating of Silverseas. The expectations were not met—at best things were mediocre and there was no WOW factor! Read Less

We have travelled extensively on Regent and had heard great things about SIlver Seas so the itinerary and timing worked for us and 8 other couples that we travel with quite often. That said overall we enjoyed the cruise but however noted the following: 1. The food was excellent but service was inconsistent in the main dining room but we great service from Aidrian 2. The Pool Bar food was good but the menu lacked variety and only had 1 or 2 different daily specials. 3. Our drink server Jeffery was fantastic with excellent service and attitude and knew everyone by their name. 4. We were always greeted by staff as they passed by but did note that not once did we see the Captain during the cruise other than the first and last night in the show room... 5. Vicky the Cruise Director made up for a lot of our agnst with her excellent personality and attitude and she's a "keeper" for Silver Seas. 6.The embarkation port in Montreal was terrible as it was in the east end of the city in the main container terminal NOT downtown as expected and where other ships docked. Overall we would say we were "satisfied" and would try Silver Seas again depending on the itinerary. Read Less

Sailing on Silver Seas is very expensive. Silver Seas touts themselves as being a six star cruise line. When Silver Seas advertises themselves as the very best they leave little room for error. This is our second time to cruise with Silver Seas we sailed through the Panama Canal in 2010. Our experience in 2010 was the reason we sailed again in 2018. In 2010 we were treated as if we were royalty. In 2018 we were treated as if were a step above common folks. We were not treated to a similar 2010 experience not even close. We were on a tour in Boston to the JFK Library and the tour guide asked how many people would recommend Silver Seas and no one raised their hand. His comment was he would buy everyone a second desert that night, no one laughed. Let's do the math we we stayed on the 9th deck with a veranda for 11 nights it cost me approximatly $675.00 a night and my wife $675.00 or $1,350.00 a night. This did not include our airfare to and from or our tours. The ship met us in Montreal we stayed at the William Gray a boutique hotel in old Montreal for $400.00 we spent an average of $300.00 a day on food and drinks and our accommodations and food was outstanding. $700.00 verses $1,350.00. On our 2010 cruise our butler serviced three cabins on our 2017 cruise our butler serviced 15 cabins. My wife was never escorted to dinner this year. I'm not saying our butler performed poorly this year this year to reach the butler I had to use the telephone I called and he promptly responded. In 2010 I didn't use a telephone to reach the butler the butler anticipated our schedule that year. Breakfast was great every day plentiful with too many selections tasty along with excellent servers. Lunch on the pool deck was fantastic along with exceptional service. Dinner on the fourth floor was average often I never saw anything that looked appetizing. I did see hamburger offered twice each night. I did have a few good meals. The service was uneven servers were assigned many tables and as a result servers over served dinner tables often stumbling over each other and asking redundant questions. It appeared that they couldn't determine what color of wine I was drinking. I thought they knew what color of wine I was drinking by the shape of the wine goblet p, but they couldn't. I wii say eating at their Italian restaurant was excellent and if you do ask for Davide our favorite server, he made us feel special. After all isn't that what we all want! Wine selections were great. Liquor selections were old fashion especially in their tequila choices. Nothing special. Oliver in the bar was outstanding. On my first cruise in 2010 I was given a special kitchen tour because I had charged my trip using my AMEX Platinum card. The chef told me he could get me anything I wanted with 24 hour notice. This year I decided to put him to the test. I asked for frog legs I was told they would check. I was told no frog legs. I didn't feel special. I thought the ship hadn't made port in Halifax, Portland, Maine or Boston surely in one of those ports they could have found frog legs! Read Less

It was our 30th anniversary. We chose this cruise for the stated itinerary - specifically, going around Newfoundland, with 4 port stops there. We did not get this, however. We departed a day and a half late due to Hurricane/Tropical Storm Jose sitting offshore of New York. But, even then the storm was still offshore and the Captain sailed directly into it (making for an interesting day at sea). No one on board could answer the question about why it was okay to sail into the storm then, but it wasn't okay to sail into it when we were originally scheduled to leave. The Captain used the weather delaying the beginning of the cruise to justify poor route change decisions in the aftermath. After we had set sail, the Captain announced that he was eliminating every Newfoundland stop, plus the St. Pierre stop, (5 total) and he was adding 3 other stops - stops that are typically on most of the other cruise itineraries. This cut down the distance to sail significantly, and those three stops, while nice places, are on every cruise on every cruise line in the Maritimes. The Captain said the decision was due to the weather, but that was simply not true. The storm was not scheduled to move into the areas we were scheduled to go (and it didn't go there). Guests all over the boat were absolutely outraged by this decision and after another day and lots of complaints, the Captain changed the itinerary again, adding back St. Pierre and St. John's, and eliminating 2 of the 3 stops he had added the day before. By our calculations, we could have still sailed around Newfoundland, if we eliminated Sydney and by eliminating just one Newfoundland port, Woody Point, we could have still had most of the Newfoundland experience. Our 12 day cruise with 9 scheduled ports ended up being a 10 1/2 day cruise that stopped in only 6 ports. When asked about getting some of our money back because of the poor schedule decisions made by the Captain, my original cruise consultant simply spouted that the fine print of the sailing contract allowed for any changes that they saw fit to make and there would be no cash back, not even a discount on a future cruise. We ended up paying $30,000 for basically the usual stops on a usual cruise that any cruise line would make (and for a lot less money). Not acceptable! It's a shame that this cruise line is so poorly run. The ship was lovely, and just the right size. Embarkation was easy and quick. Entertainment was pretty good, with talented performers and some fun shows. The room was nice and the beds comfortable (although the furniture in our $30,000 suite was so uncomfortable is was basically unusable). The staff all over the boat was outstanding. The personal service was great. Front desk staff, while nice, were pretty uninformed about what was going on with the changes. We never saw the Captain. I figure he was hiding because everyone was so upset about the itinerary changes. My experience with the Spa was poor. They made me wait 20 minutes for a simple manicure, and there was no one there. The woman who did my manicure wasn't even a manicurist. It was the worst manicure I've ever received. I cancelled my massage appointment because of this first experience. The fitness lady left the boat in the first port and never came back. My husband went up to use the equipment and it was all pushed into the corner of the room and no one was around. I don't like that fitness "services" are basically pitches to buy something. There were 4 restaurants on board, all but one requiring reservations. The high end La Champagne was booked 3 months prior to sailing. (The menu looked good) The Grill was basically unusable due to the cold temperatures on the pool deck (and service there was surly). The Italian restaurant, La Terraza, was great for breakfast and lunch, and mostly good for dinner with a strictly Italian menu. The main Restaurant, the default if you didn't have a reservation elsewhere, was immensely disappointing. The menu was basically only Mediterranean food. They made little, if any effort, to add any local food choices based on the itinerary. Room service was a nice perk, but the menu was pretty limited. The Bar didn't open until 6pm. Dinner service didn't begin until 7pm and then it took a minimum of 2 hours to be served - it basically took the entire evening just to have dinner. Excursions were only so-so. They were quite expensive for what you got. We didn't get to take many, due to elimination of ports. Confusion on the part of staff for disembarkation at a couple of ports caused us to be late to one excursion, and we still paid full freight for it. When we were in Quebec City, for some reason we had to dock nowhere near the center of activity and then we had to take a bus to get into town. I figured, for as expensive as this cruise was, we could at least get better priority for a docking location. My rating is poor because of the Captain ruining everything by taking away most of the reason for which we booked the cruise in the first place. I won't take a Silversea cruise again because of the dismissive service by the cruise line management. They won't answer our questions, but they've already sent 3 emails advertising other cruises. I wouldn't recommend anyone take Silversea, unless they don't mind going wherever the Captain feels like going instead of where the cruise was scheduled to go. My husband wrote an email to the Director of Guest Relations, Frank Sansone, and he never bothered to respond. My husband then attempted to call him. He didn't answer, and never responded. This is a shameful way to run a cruise line. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it circumnavigated Newfoundland. They changed our schedule and eliminated half the cruise and 4 stops AFTER we left port, and no one will answer our emails or phone calls regarding a refund. We spent well over $30,000 on this 12 day cruise and they will not even respond to our inquiry. The menu was nearly all meditteranean and had very little variety and no local fare. The wine list was below par for the price. The staff, room attendants, bar tenders, waiters, etc were extremely nice. The shore excursions were cut short due to mass confusion on disembarking, thus getting us off the ship too late for the full itinerary for which we paid. The concierge desk was polite but totally helpless. The fact that no one from this company will have the decency to return our calls or emails is proof enough that they are NOT user-friendly. Run far and fast from Silversea. Seabourn, Oceana, and others are far superior for much more reasonable fares. You've been warned. Read Less
