loudmouth and no class is an accurate description of 90% of the people on this cruise, noisy hallways, all night noise, could not sleep, breakfast and lunch was okay but dinner was horrible you could tell the food was coming out of a microwave, customer care staff needs more training, the toilet in my room wreaked of urine..house keeping should use bleach to disinfect toilets, the staff was great, the views from the ship were amazing, the ship could use some upgrades after all the ship is almost 20 years old, the cabin was okay and the balcony too, the entertainment and activities were good, service was good, my waiters name was Segundo...he was great and made my vacation a little better, port and excursions were long lines, one of the most important reason for going on vacation is to enjoy eating great food, that didn't happen on this cruise, I wont be going on a cruise any time soon and would not recommend it to anyone,i think you would spend much less traveling by plane. First cruise and perhaps my last but the experience wast terrible. To start loud noises and rockus accured all hours of the night in our room. Feral children run rampid. Same days we got an itenerary of events and other days we did not. I tripped one night and fell into the toilet (yes the bathroom is on step and many people I've heard his happened). Customer service was all of he place some employees really tried to help guest while others didnt care. I think communication overall was tired. The rooms we very very small. The premium wi-fi ($51) was less than edge most of the cruise. The rooms never swept and the hallways dirty. It definitely wasn't worth the price. Food was the best thing. Gym is 3. I would like to see weight bar. Part of the resonbility falls on the guest too (again very load guest not sure what was going on or if it was fluke) . Read Less

They say that there's no such thing as a bad cruise. You're not at work. You're healthy and fortunate enough to afford such a luxury. But there are levels to these things. In case you don't want to read a novel here's the summary: Come with realistic expectations. There's a reason Disney and Virgin Voyages charge a premium. There's a reason Carnival doesn't, particularly on this ship. Walmart or worse quality of service in most areas. We had a great time but the deficiencies in operations, maintenance and staff were glaring. Bottom line- you get what you pay for. Overall I would have traded the balcony room on this ship/cruise and paid the same for interior on NCL or Royal and had a higher quality experience. The affordability of this cruise opens up cruising to a lot of folks, and that's wonderful. Unfortunately the bad experience may leave anyone with an actual option of who to cruise with to never willingly coming back. For some background we've sailed Carnival before and also, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and Disney. My wife and our 10-year-old daughter stayed in an AFT extended balcony room on the 7th deck and were on the 4 night Caribbean to Key West and Cozumel. We'll start with the positive and go downhill from there. The Best Hunter Deblanc at Piano Bar. Hands down, most entertained I've ever been. We're from Vegas. We have no shortage of fun places and entertaining things to do. Hunter was biggest highlight of this cruise. If I we were on the fence between two cruises in future and he were on one of them, I'd pick that one. He's that good. Not your mother's piano guy. At least not after 1030pm. Extra awesome was the fact that he was making extra sure that the server Suresh was being taken care of and treated well by patrons. Outstanding in every way. The Pretty Darn Good Gym. Overwhelmed. Clean. Well stocked and exceeded expectation. Sauna being free, albeit aged, was also a plus. Adult's only deck area was nice and enjoyable, when the slide line wasn't full of kids that is. Above Par- Oswi & Ace our servers on our next to last night were the only meal time service that was above par. They were excellent. Everyone else was Walmart or worse. These guys stood out like a sore thumb they were so good and attentive. More Oswi's and Ace's and this cruise is a different level. My wife had two treatments at the Spa and said both technicians were excellent, particularly the massage therapist The Ok- Food options. For the price, the options of food was good. Not necessarily the quality, but the options were better than expected. Mind boggling Who puts a small sushi car next to the bar in a smokey casino?! The freshest, cleanest food available (for a $ too) and you stick it in an ash tray? We would have gotten sushi if it were anywhere else on the ship. Terrible decision. Busy lunch time as port time ended in Key West and there's one person at the very popular Pizza Pirate. A line of 10-15 people, myself included waited for 15 minutes without the lone employee so much as saying a word. A simple "I'll be with you as soon as possible" would have done wonders. This is the Walmart level stuff that was evident throughout the ship. The Bad Balcony glass was filthy. Like nasty. Beautiful ocean view only to be ruined by being seen through nasty, grimy lenses. Total shame. Curtains had holes and various questionable stains. Coffee, maybe a little blood. Who knows but they were nasty and since we had a balcony we saw the dirty curtains every time we stepped in/out to look at the dirty glass... I mean nice view. The Worse In hindsight I wish I would have said something at the time. After boarding we were waiting in Camp Ocean for our daughter to check it out and some middle aged white corporate lady with a British accent was belittling a camp employee. She made a comment about Carnival being a multi million dollar company while criticizing the employee. First off, you're saying that to a person making very little money during 9 month tour. Secondly, I've never reprimanded a subordinate in public. Doing what she did in front of customers who could clearly hear was very unprofessional. Left me with bad taste in my mouth. Read Less

We took two grandchildren on the short Victory cruise this week. Miami, Key West, Cozumel and a day at sea. Did the Fast to the Fun and it worked well. Got on board shortly after arriving. We parked at the Port of Miami garage D right across from the ship at only $88. Just walked over. The food in the Lido was limited. Not a great salad selection. It was almost impossible to get wine or beer while seated in the Lido. Good desserts though. The whole Lido experience was like an OK cafeteria. The "Chopsticks" chinese area was only open occasionally. Long lines at the Deli. And the Lido glass walls were filthy. The food in the MDR was much better and service was great. Prime Rib was rare as ordered. The Indian food slection was great. Soups and breads were very good. And Guy Fieri's burgers are delicious. The Blue Agave tacos were also good. We went to two musical shows. Both were pretty good; very energetic. The bad; the pool is so small you couldn't move. Adults drinking in the pool spilling beer and drinks.. Rude and shoving adults. Kids were fine. I'm sorry, but it was a fairly trashy crowd. Women in net bathing suits in the buffet, men with no shirts in buffet, etc. Had a balcony cabin with the bunks for the kids. Worked fine and the steward, Rommel from the Philippines did a great job. My granddaughter did go to and enjoyed on night at her 12/13/14 group activity. But my grandson age 9 hated his one time. I guess they didn't have enough kids in his 9/10/11 age group so they brought in the 6/7//and 8 year olds. He was a little offended and woulndn't go back. Read Less

This was my first cruise and I was not impressed with this one. Let me start with the only positive. Ease of getting on board was fairly simple. The ship is extremely old and outdated. We had an ocean view room with rusted windows, bathroom reeked of urine throughout our stay and the shower never drained properly. The staff was borderline rude and they weren't the friendliest. Once we got the key to the room they had a meeting that took place at the muester stations. The staff member literally knocked on our door once and before I could answer they used a key to burst into the room which was very disrespectful and wrong. What if I had been naked or my children? No one spoke clear English and forget asking a staff member where something was. They seemed to never could explain or give proper directions which was frustrating as the ship was very big. The food was hit or miss. The only good food was at dinner time but it was never hot. The servers at dinner were the friendliest throughout the entire ship. The food served daily was ok but there were times where some were closed and hundreds of people on the ship would be left standing in long lines for food at breakfast and lunch time. Watch out for the charges to your account! There were so many people that complained about extra gratuities and the guest services lines were always long. Forget trying to call guest services from your room it was always busy or they simply never answered. The bathrooms for use throughout the ship were always dirty and gross. Feces left in toilets, tissue everywhere and urine on the floors and the staff never seemed to care. They would clean all around the ship but would not clean the bathrooms as often as they should have been. The pools seemed rusty and the water always looked dirty. It was literally thousands of people aboard the ship so you would think they would keep everything stocked but their were times when the ice cream machines weren't working, cones weren't stocked and the lemonade that they offered was not filled on some machines. You literally get what you pay for! Pay more for an updated ship! I would never recommend this ship to anyone and I will probably never do carnival again. Read Less

This was my second cruise, first being with just my son (10 months at the time), and I. This second cruise was with our whole family. It was by far the worst family vacation we've ever had. Never again will we use carnival. They screwed up all our room assignments (they gave me a $300 on board credit that got immediately eaten up by gratuities), staff is beyond rude, no one cares if you are having a issue unless you inform them you are having issues with locating your autistic son due to the incompetent staff shuffling my kids to the wrong zone for the drill. My son was suppose to be excused from the drill due to his medical issues but nooooooooo the steward staff made my son, daughter, and grandmother leave their room. By the time I reached my son he was a minute away from passing out. He has heat triggered seizures. The guest service manager tried to prevent me from getting my son out of the drill area. I had to yell at her he needed to leave. When she came to find me to try to I guess tell me about myself she realized the situation was actually serious she then changed her stank attitude and tried to kiss butt. Same with the dinning room staff in the Atlantic dinning room. The hostess was so rude and the head manager as well but of course when I said to my fiance that situation was just one more thing to add to our email to corporate he changed his attitude. It seems in order for the crew to be nice you have to inform them you are contacting corporate. I could honestly go on and on about how horrible the crew was but Ill save myself from getting frustrated again. As far as food.... It was gross. Eggs are super runny, bacon is dang near raw, pancakes taste like crap, syrup is watered down, even the main dinning room dinner is just bad. The only thing i enjoyed was the crab legs and I had to pay $25 for it. No matter if it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner its crap. We did the cat in the hat breakfast and although my kids enjoyed meeting the characters the food was basic. Now the port.... We stopped in Nassau bahamas and man oh man that port was NASTY. As soon as we got off the ship we were disgusted by how dirty the port was. And then when we got past the tourist information gate we were swarmed by ppl trying to push services or merch on us. That was annoying but i get it. What got me really annoyed was numerous guys came up to us (my kids too) asking if we needed weed or "blow" (im assuming thats cocaine). Like they have no care in the world there are little kids there. A lot of shops try to play you aswell and take your money claiming they have no change. Thank god I read and did my research before we got there and knew not to buy anything at the port and to walk a few blocks down to get everything cheaper. the straw market was interesting.... VERY hot so that was interesting to see how all these vendors just deal with the heat. Getting on and off the boat was pretty easy but we did get off 2 hours after we ported and got back on a way before everyone else. Now the debarking wasn't too bad. I didnt wait for our deck number bc frankly my son was just tired of waiting and starting to get a big sensory overload. They didnt give me issues about leaving before our deck was called. Aside from all the issues with food, staff, ect, the boat it self was overly crowded, our room didnt even get turned one day, there was a lot of rust around the boat, there isnt much to do either. Even with the little they had to do it was so packed it wasnt worth waiting for the activities. We also had a party crew in the room across from us and holy crap they were loud. The screaming and laughing lasted up until around 3am and started right back up at 8am. It was very annoying. Security even came up a few times bc i guess other guest complained but those ppl could care less and the moment security was gone they started yelling again. Oh and lets not forget about on both decks 6 and 7 (I had two rooms) the hallways reeked of marijuana. Def not something I want my kids to be smelling. Oh and let me not forget to mention how the communication between the 800 number, the crew on the boat from the different departments and management has HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION. No one knows anything and none of the requested accommodations I requested for my autistic child and my other child with server food allergies were granted So if asked if i would ever use carnival again.... my answer would be "HECK NO"! This will have been the first and the last time I ever give them a shot. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it was on dates that fit into our inflexible travel schedule and the price was right. It was me, my wife our two young daughters (6 & 3) and my mother. We had an ocean view suite and a neighboring standard stateroom. Accommodations: The suite size was okay. The balcony was very nice. The furnishing were worn but serviceable. However, we immediately noticed a septic stench in the room that made the room far less appealing. It got worse so we notified our room attendant. It got better once he addressed it but soon returned. Then, the floor tile in the bathroom started cracking and raw sewage started seeping up from under the cracked tile grout. Rather than relocate us, they insisted on fixing the issue. Each fix was a bandaid and the issue kept returning. It was disgusting! I finally insisted they move us but they said," just let our plumber see if they can fix it". It was just another temporary fix and septic stench and the seeping sewage came right back. The ship is old and feels it. The on board entertainment was virtually unwatchable. The child care camp was glorified babysitting. The food was mediocre and uninspired. The pools were drained multiple time for "unsafe bacteria levels". We complained and they credited us $50 off our final invoice and offered us $250 credit toward another cruise. We gave Carnival a chance to make this right and they would not step up. Just a really really really terrible experience. Never will I choose Carnival again and my wife was so traumatized she's just turned off to cruises in general now. Read Less

Treat you like they're the ones on vacation and you're getting on their nerves just to answer a question. ESPECIALLY customer service! Drinks were flowing and pretty good. However they don't tell you that after you purchase the drink package to include tax you still have to pay an extra tax per drink while you're still in Florida waters...what a scam! The food was decent, especially the burger and taco stand. Don't even think about eating at the buffet unless you want to spend an hour in line. Ridiculous! Our dining room waiter, Darryl was excellent and very accommodating... 5 stars for him! Food was decent, cant really complain about that. The Music was good. But not enough shows onboard. Only had 1 game show and Bingo. I'll never take carnival again! Read Less

This was my second time cruising with Carnival. The Carnival Victory definitely needs some upgrades. The staff was just Ok, they seemed to be very annoyed by many of the Guest!. I did meet one Staff member in the sit down dining area a woman from Ukraine who was very pleasant. As I was dining she walked up to me and asked how everything was and asked if I needed anything ( I thought that was very nice she was the only Crew Member to greet me literally). The food was cool the great thing about it was if you did not like an entre' you could order another. There were plenty of children and Teens on the boat who were very loud and obnoxious. The Pool was a traffic jam daily, Jacuzzi also. I brought a day Pass at the RIU resort in the Bahamas for my excursion. It was wonderful ( all inclusive) with a banging Jerk Chicken Hut next to the pool.. Thank me later). it was 20.00 cheaper than online to just show up and pay for it. My taxi ride was 4.00 each way!. I thought is was horrible Carnival shut the pool down at 5 pm on Sunday ( the cruise was not over). They were very slow to put more cups out by the ice and drink machine. That was completely lazy and disrespectful to the guest. They acted as if the Guest was getting on their nerves. If you want to Smell Weed be around wild children cutting in front of you on all parts of the boat, this is definitely the boat for you. I had a room with a Balcony so that's where I received all of my Peace. I definitely will find a more upscale cruise line for my taste!! Read Less

We sailed on the Victory from Monday, June 17th to Friday, June 21st out of Miami to Key West and Cozumel. We traveled with our two older sons 18 ad 17 and 6 year old daughter. It was a great ship and cruise length for first time cruisers. We had a balcony room which made it even more special. The ship was easy to navigate and did not seem overly crowded with people. They had several pools but they were really small especially in the afternoon when it was really hot. Plenty of seats to lounge in and out of the sun. The buffet was nice and stocked nicely with food. I highly recommend the omelet station and Guy's Burger place for places to eat. Dining room for dinner was very nice and the food was amazing! We did not drink alcohol but did get the soda card for the week, which I recommend. Service all around the ship was wonderful. Everyone was very helpful. The entertainment was wonderful! I loved the night time shows and they were only about an hour so you had time to eat again or watch a movie on the Lido deck. We did not use the shore excursion this time but will look into them for the next time. I can honestly say this was one of the best family vacations we ever had. Read Less

This was my second Carnival cruise, the first about 10 years ago. I wasn’t much of a fan the last time but Carnival Victory managed to win me over, in spite of my reservations. Here were the pros and cons: Cons: -The hallways were noisy at night. I expected this so I had already braved myself to endure it. -The food was only mediocre compared to Disney Cruise Line, Celebrity, and Norwegian. However, it wasn’t bad. -The bed was very hard. -The ship is aging, and while they try to maintain her, some of her facilities are showing their age. For example, several elevators had tiles missing from the floor. Accent lights were out in random spots all over the ship. The whirlpools and pools showed major wear with the finish rubbing off and showing rust. Pros: -The ship was clean. Very clean in fact. This made up for the wear due to age. -The service was great. These folks are proud of their ship. -The Cruise Director, Filipe is phenomenal. He was friendly, energetic and approachable. He seemed to genuinely care. -The onboard activities and entertainment were great and diverse. All in all, I felt like the value and experience for the price was great. The crew and service more than made up for the cons that I had. Would I book another Carnival Cruise? Absolutely, already have. Would I try and book a newer ship, yes. Read Less

This is our second time on the Carnival Victory. Some of the areas could definitely be updated and Carnival is aware as the Victory will become the Carnival Radiance in 2020. We chose the ship because our two young boys enjoyed it the first time we were aboard. The embarkation process was quick and easy. We have paid for Faster to the Fun(FTTF) in the past but decided to save the money this time to see how smooth things went. My advice: Save your money. We were on the ship within 20 minutes of arriving at the Cruise Port. The lines moved quickly and the staff was accommodating. If you have all your forms filled out and a credit card on file before boarding, you are quickly shuffled through the port to board. In the past, you waited while your info was collected and waited for your Sail N Sign cards. Now you can go right to the Lido deck to enjoy lunch. If you do want to purchase beverages, you only need to give them your cabin number and they will charge accordingly. TIP: if you don't want to wait in line for Lido Buffet, the exact same items are set up in the Atlantic Dining Room on Deck 3. Grab a quick bite, then head up to the fun on Deck 9. This was the first time we chose an inside cabin. We usually book a Ocean View or Balcony cabin. We chose an inside based on a quick, inexpensive get-away and it's location. We were located on the Lido Deck and as for location, it was perfect for our sons. They were able to walk 50' and be at the pools, hot tubs, and activities. A quick in the elevator took us to Camp Ocean or down to Casino/shopping. I will say that we will probably not book an inside for any future cruises. It was very tight for four people. There was no sitting area and the desk was unusable since the bed was nearly up against it. The cabin steward was okay, but surely not one of the best that I have had. He started off with good service, but by day two we were trying to find clean towels and picking up our room by ourselves. As for on-ship activities and areas, our boys do enjoy the Camp Ocean activities. The staff is always friendly and genuinely seem like they love working with the kids. Our boys are 8 and 11 and were in the Stingray and Sharks age group. My 11 year old usually hangs out with kids age 10-11-12 because of sports and there were a few activities that he opted out of so he didn't want to hang with 3rd graders. The DJ was okay. He played a lot of the same Bob Marley songs every day and by day 4 I was over the music. The Steel Drum musician was on point. He created a great atmosphere when he was on deck. The Living in America production was well done. Great sets and costumes, however most of the music was geared toward over 50 crowd. Vast majority of those in the crowd had no idea what half of the songs even were. Our last cruise (Carnival Sunshine) had shows with Rock music and lots of modern hits. Crowd was more into the modern show, for sure. Cruise Director Felipe was okay. Some people seem to write reviews of how wonderful he is, however we have been on a dozen cruises and he rates as mediocre with us. He would come to events and if he was running late for the next, he would leave to start the next. He would always make comments about his staff doing all the work to get him around the ship. This made it seem like a job for him as other Cruise Directors in the past made the job seem like they were just there hanging out with friends and having fun even though it was a job. You can sense the difference. Although smoky, the Casino bar was always fun and we met some great people there. The bands played some great music that had everyone singing along and bartenders Geron and Benedicto made you feel like you were at your own hometown pub. The food was good as always. The buffets had a different theme each day, but the staples such as fruit, salads, and sides were the same each day. The Blue Iguana taco and burritos were excellent. I highly recommend the pork tacos. Lines for pizza were always long late at night when the buffets closed. It was also awkward taking the kids back to get pizza in the adults only area of the lido. Kind of defeats the purpose of adults only by having food stands beside the pool. As for dining, we chose early dining in the Pacific Dining Room. Our waitstaff was superb. Our headwaiter Dedik was solid the whole cruise. Along with I Made and Marius, they made my family feel special and never let us wanting. They all felt like family when we were ready to leave. Our boys really enjoyed their company and always looked forward to going to dinner to see "D". I highly recommend trying different foods that you would normally not order at a restaurant. When would you ever risk paying for something you may not like? Here you can order Ox Tongue, take a bite, then order a chicken breast when you are not ready to take a second bite of the ox. Debarkation was quick and simple as well. We had a quick bite to eat on the Lido Deck then chose to carry off our own luggage. The only hang up is trying to get around elevator area of Deck 3. There is no staff to direct anyone and there is a hug bottle neck of people waiting in line, coming down stairs, and exiting elevators. Some passenger's patience was wearing thin with the confusion of where everyone was to go. Getting through customs was a breeze and the shuttle back to the airport was quick and easy. We will definitely cruise with Carnival again and look forward to sailing on the Radiance when it is done. Great cruise, great price. TIP: While in Cozumel, skip booking an expensive excursion through Carnival. There is a resort within walking distance (exit dock, take a left, and walk 3 blocks) of the cruise port called "El Cid". It is a beautiful facility that includes a pool, hot tubs, two private beaches, and so much more. For $22 per person, they will give you a day pass to use their facility. You can swing on hammocks in the ocean, use their snorkeling gear, swim in their pool, use their changing areas, etc. The best part is that they give each person a $13 credit for food and beverages. So a day pass is only $9! The only out of pocket expense is any overage for your purchases over the credited amount. Throughout the day, we had 6 beers, 2 mixed drinks, 2 smoothies, 4 sodas, a large pizza, fish tacos, chicken Caesar salad, and French fries an our total bill was $72. Minus the credit, I only owed $20. That meal/food at home would have been twice the amount. Service was great and grounds were 5 star. Read Less

In all aspects, this cruise is terrible. It is sad that we spent so much money on below-standards food and service. And they charge for everything. The food is disgusting and poor quality, and the staff seems to be unhappy and lacking enthusiasm. Expanding on the food, the truffle aioli is loaded with mayonaise, the prime rib is always medium rare no matter how you ask for it, our mac and cheese was served cold and smaller than a kids portion... We went on this cruise with some other couples. We did Faster to the Fun- it was helpful to get right on the ship, but apparently we could have gotten on earlier... Our cabin was ready to go with our room keys and we went to grab some lunch in lido buffet. The way they have the food lines does not make for an easy experience. You have to wait in line cafeteria style instead of having different stations. One morning I just wanted some grits and the line was wrapped around the corner. So, that was a no. Also, they have upstairs seating which is great except you can't get to it because the sweets station is there and they have cake cutters right at the entrance to the stairs which means there are people on both sides trying to get cake and you can't walk by them as there is just not room. Guy's burgers were great- except at peak times they just hand you a cheeseburger- there is no ordering one off the menu. The breakfast burritos were pretty good at the Blue Igauna (i think that was the name). The dining room was hit or miss food wise. My husband ordered off the $20 steakhouse menu the last night- his food came out way later than everyone else's and was super tough. He didn't even eat half of it. Room service was not advertised except for breakfast. There was a hanging menu. We ordered the $3 breakfast biscuit one morning and neither one of us could eat it. The sausage was disgusting. Like spat it out gross. The waiters were great. The room steward was super nice. Our particular room was on the 8th floor and was the extended balcony-room 8428. We couldn't use our deck half the time because water pooled around the entrance to the door ( I mean several inches deep). Our steward had to sweep it several times. Stuff would fall down (cigarette butts, hats, random liquids) and kids at the pool deck could look down on us so that was not awesome. On the sea day, we got a note saying they were doing routine work on our balcony. Basically, they hosed it down and it was soaking wet so again, we couldn't use it. So disappointed. The comedians were funny, karaoke was super entertaining, and the shows- well people walked out. I felt bad, but they were not very good. The ship overall was pretty good, the lobby was nice. But, because they galley for the kitchens was located in the middle of decks 3 and 4, you had to go to 5 to get across the ship- which meant walking through the smoky casino (kids, families, everyone). Not my favorite. Our excursions were ok. Key West, we took an uber to the southernmost point and then walked to Hemingway House. Great tour and loved it. Then, headed to Sloppy Joe's for a drink and a small bite to eat. Didn't have enough time - 7 am- 1:30 ( i think). Cozumel excursion was not worth it. We did the downtown shopping and beach break. The tour operators were great - no complaints there. We got on a large and pretty comfy bus to go to downtown Cozumel. On the way, they tell us that everything is shipped in as Cozumel does not produce anything. Then to the shop, which is basically like the dollar store of crappy souvenirs. We were there about 40 minutes in that one store. Nice bathrooms though. Then, we went back on the bus to another shopping area- except it was different crappy souvenirs that you had to haggle the price on. Most people had already bought stuff so we just sat in chairs we could find for another 40 minutes. Waste of time. Then to the beach. We only had like an hour or so to enjoy the water and chairs. It just wasn't enough time to do much. Overall, the trip was fun because of who we were with, but I wasn't pleased with the final experience. Read Less

We have sailed carnival many times but feel that they have really cut back. - boarding was fast and easy. Surprisingly fast. We were really confused though as you why we didn’t get our sail and sign cards before boarding. First time since that has changed and there was nothing to tell us that during the boarding process. - cheers program was well worth the cost based on menu prices on board. - While we like to stay near the elevators, I will not choose the primary elevators again. We could hear everything from lobby entertainment well into the night from our suite. Lesson learned. - Dinner. I was rather disappointed in the main dining room. The service was no where what it once was. Wait times were long, food was ok. Nothing special like I had become accustomed to. - Pool Staff at the adult only pool were great about keeping kids out. - Room. Our room itself was fine. We didn’t see our cabin steward until day 2 when they asked if we wanted morning OR evening service. I have always had both as a basic cruise standard. Our steward did do a great job the one time a day our room was done and U was fine with it, just surprised of the change. - The Alchemy Bar and staff was our favorite spot each evening. They did an amazing job with awesome cocktails. Read Less

First Anniversary/Honeymoon and First Cruise....choose this ship to break our virginity. Learned alot about cruising and loved the ship despite it showing some minor cosmetic wear. Will be even better after the dry dock. Shout out to Vladimir and Suzette great bartenders and very friendly. Food was good for people not used to fine dining never did lido buffet cause always crowded, but Guys and BlueIguana better than imagined. Carnival should ban smoking in Casino and consider adding a GPS type app to the hub to help get you around. But again overall very very happy and satisfied looking forward to next cruise. Embarkation and Debark were quick and smooth. A little more time in Key West would've been nice, but Cozumel, Mr Sanchos made up for that. Customer service on ship was always helpful and as a Anniversary present treated ourselves a couples massage even though it was expensive and they push product still worth it....hey its vacation. Felipe was a very entertaining cruise director.....heck the crew we experienced were all very friendly....thank you Carnival. Read Less

2nd time on the Victory / this time sailing with daughter and granddaughter. Food was adequate, entertainment top notch, and staff very friendly, Alcoholic drinks get pricier on nearly ever ship. We love the ports of Cozumel and Key West. Shuttles from Truman Annex easily accommodated my wife on her mobility scooter. Exciting Cruise Director Filipe! Ship ran ontime. Very long lines at the Lido Buffet. Not gourmet food but lots of selections to choose from. Dining room experience much more pleasant. Food is good quality and wine selections very good but pricey. Excellent service at all meals. Living in America and VRoom were fantastic productions with live band. Dancers and costumes very good. Female singer well tuned. Male singer a little flat but OK. Typical jamb of stairwells and elevators for port debark. We were stuck at the elevators servicing the Pacific Dining Rm for breakfast. My wife needed elevator since she was on a mobility scooter. None of the elevators could qued. Read Less

We took this cruise because it fit between two weekends in which we had big events. This became our bridge to them. It helped that I had never been to the two ports of Key West and Cozumel. I didn't have high expectation for the ship or the Cruise Line but was pleasantly surprised. We don't usually travel on Carnival because of all the families and kids who are typically on board. I found that that wasn't an issue this time around. Embarkation was the easiest I've ever done. At your appointed time for entry you just showed your passport and boarding docs and went up to the buffet for a drink or some food. Your sail away card was were delivered to your stateroom on your cabin door when you were allowed down to your cabins. There were no lines and no hassles. Other cruise lines should take note. Our cabin was roomy with plenty of storage. We were on deck 7 at the front of the ship. It was listed as a Interior with a Picture View and it certainly delivered. It felt like our own balcony as there was deck that no one used right in front of us. We felt like we had a balcony. Although we had preordered the queen bed variation it was not completed before we arrived and had to ask our cabin steward. I had ordered a birthday package and they did decorate the room with balloons and hanging greetings which we enjoyed along with the cake. The bathroom came equipped with a funky smell, which the crew tried to fix but it never really left the room. It felt like the pipes needed cleaning. Otherwise the shower was nice with good pressure. The bed was comfortable and the hallways were quiet. The food was just okay. There were really long lines for the buffet. They could have used at least one more serving line. The lines were so long they stretched back along the walkways and interfered with the small specialty dining options that were offered to help space out the food lines. It was awkward at best. There were very limited sugar-free options available to eat and drink. If you needed that diet restriction, this would not be your ship. The food was standard fare, good but not overly original. There was a carving station and small salad bar at lunch and dinner. There were a fair number of activities on board for folks to do however many of the ones we wanted to do were at the same time in the morning so we couldn't do many. They were no repeated on the short cruise. There was a large cruise staff and they had good energy. They kept people bust, mostly on deck with dancing and parties. The shows were entertaining using a production crew . The seating in the showroom was uncomfortable on the main level. Seating upstairs was better, The ship was small and compact which we prefer over the Mega ships. There were lots of places to walk and sit outside. Movies under the stars were poolside on the very big screen. Warm blankets would have been nice rather than just grabbing a towel from the stand. There were 2 areas that were Adult only with 2 pools and hot tubs. They were very crowded given all the children on the ship and the need to find a quiet place near water. The staff were very friendly but not terribly engaging. They did not necessarily greet passengers as they passed them on deck or engage in spontaneous conversation. We only saw our cabin steward a few times but he kept our room very clean and fully provisioned. There were lots of announcements by the Cruise Director, perhaps more than necessary. I only heard the captain once talk about the ship, direction and weather. The ports of call of Key West and Cozumel were just fine, once you got there. This ship parked at the Naval Base in Key West and you needed to be transported into town. It was time consuming. Getting back to the ship was even longer as there were only so many buses in operation and each bus had to be checked by military authorities before you could be unloaded next to the ship. That created long lines and almost an hour wait in town, in the hot sun and heat with no water to drink waiting for a bus to arrive. Knowing that was the case a suggestion to Carnival would be to set up a tent with towels and water at the bus stop in town. Guests are going to wait until the last minute to get back to the ship and they need to account for that. Disembarkation in Cozumel was awful. Long lines, throughout the ship including the stairwells, only one gangway, times to leave were not followed made for angry people. Carnival needs to do a much better job. As good as embarkation was at the start of the ship it was that bad trying to get off. The other disappointment was the use of the Internet and kiosks aboard the ship. None of them worked well. They were slow and near impossible to do anything regarding ships business. Yet, we were told over and over again we could conduct business rather than wait at guest services but by the end of the trip folks had pretty much given up. It was easier to talk to a person. While on shore it was easier to use your own data plan. I did use Carnival's Hub App which worked okay but you couldn't look days ahead and plan your calendar. It was a today only thing. Overall, the people are what make the ship a happy place and we found ourselves engaged in conversations with folks at meals and at other times. It made the trip go quickly. I know Carnival is known as a Party Ship Line and people were partying especially as it was Spring Break, but we enjoyed ourselves as we kept our expectations low so that we could come away happy when they were met or exceeded. If you are looking for a quick trip to get away, this could be your answer for some fun and sun as long as you keep your expectations even. Read Less

We choose a quick getaway and it was affordable. It was by far the worst cruise line we have ever sailed with. Food was terrible, cold, long lines, they even burned a hot dog. They also ran out of differfent dishes at the buffet. Room service coffee was cold. And NO ADA accommodations for those who need it. The fancy dining room was a joke and no management around. The pork chop was so tough, it almost went flying off the plate as I tried to cut it. What was good, was our cabin steward, he was wonderful, knew us by name and cared. The others don’t care. We tried to call customer service and guess what, no direct dial to customer service. It was such a disappointment. Spa, we used the spa for a couples massage, don’t do it, there’s no zen, you hear slamming doors and very noisy. Not to mention we were misquoted on the prices. They are not honest on their pricing and then you get the bill and they deny what they told you. I will certainly be contacting Carnival corporate. Stay far away from this ship. Read Less

My congratulations for the Excellent service which was provided by Retno in the Atlantic Dining Room. My commendations to her, she made our dinner experience very happy. She was courteous willing to accommodate and please us to ensure that we would be happy with the food and service provided by the ship. Her great service made our dining experience looking forward to the next one and hoping we would be seeing her again. Retno (Rojo No ) as she translated her name to my in-Laws who did not speak English only Spanish caused a feeling of comfort and of welcoming. She described the food to my in-Laws in Spanish with our help The service and food was spectacular, the performance at the of the dinner on our last evening by all of the crew members dancing was awesome. My congratulations also to Felipe the Ship Director for his excellent performance in entertaining all the cruisers. Every aspect of the trip was great !!! Elevators took long but it was more than understandable considering the number of people on the ship. The coordination of disembarking was excellent. Nothing but a great weekend experience. A lot of staff members gave us wrong information. We paid for FTTF but were told to get in the regular line when boarding. After boarding, we were supposed to have immediate access to our room, but there were signs on the doors saying, "Do not enter. Rooms available at 1:30." I went to guest services and spoke to 3 different people explaining that I had FTTF and was supposed to be able to access my room. They didn't seem to know what I was talking about and kept repeating that my room would be available at 1:30. As a 1st time cruiser, I read all of the dress code rules for dinner and packed accordingly. However, the dress code rules are not enforced in the dining room at all. Most people had on flip flops, slides, tshirts, and basketball shorts. When I asked on the 1st night, i was told that it was because people hadn't received their luggage. However, people were dressed the same on the other nights, too. I could've saved a lot of room in my suitcase if I'd known. The safety briefing was also very stressful because no one could tell us where to go. We asked multiple crew members and was told something different each time. We went upstairs and then downstairs and then back up over and over again. Massage in the spa - don't waste your money. We were told no couple massages. My husband's massage room had no windows for views of the ocean. My room was right next to the hair salon, so the noise from hair dryers and people talking was not relaxing at all. The package included a mini facial but was told I had to receive it at the same time as the massage. Due to our assigned dinner time, I didn't have time for the facial and was not given any other option. Read Less

First I would like to thank everyone who took the time to write a review, I've been stalking your reviews in preparation for my first cruise. With nothing to compare the experience to I had a good time. I arrived at the port early like 8ish not knowing it's closed and doesn't open til 10 am, but anyway we were on the ship by 11 am. We were directed to go to 9 and eat (none of the elevators were turned on yet)and I ordered my first drink of the day by 11:07 am. They do charge tax on the cheers package when the ship in still in port in Miami it's usually less than a dollar. I had the famous Guy's burger man y'all had me expecting an Au Cheval burger or something. The burger itself was okay I actually liked the fries better than the burger. The toppings bar had the best mushrooms which I piled high on the burger and usually got full eating the mushrooms off the burger and fries dipped in the mayo. The burger was always kinda dry even fresh off the grill. Well after getting a drink and eating we were ready to shower and change after a long night of travel. The elevators were on now and we journeyed down to level 1 to be hit with a sign that the rooms would not be available until 1:30. We sat there with our luggage for like 15 minutes when other people started to come down, we found the doors were just closed not locked the crew was still cleaning rooms, I sat for a few more minutes and went to look for my room. It looked down to me bed made with luggage mat laid out, bathroom was clean our cards were on the vanity so I went to get my bf and we went to the room. I like to sleep in quite darkness so the inside cabin was perfect for me. We got in the shower, set our alarms for two hours and laid down. As soon as I was drifting off the phone rings loudly and housekeeping or whoever got on yelling at me about why was I in the room before 1:30 and they were not done I told him I was straight and he could finish whatever he needed to finish later, I hung up to him still yelling something. Woke up refreshed after my nap got dressed just in time for the drill. So know one seemed to know what they were doing or where we should be going but if you didn't get there you would be in trouble. So basically they make everyone stand shoulder to shoulder to watch a man show you how to put on a life vest and blow a whistle, what a waste of time. It's hot and someone passed out I got tired and just walked away. Got my last calls in before I was in a dead zone for my phone. Got more drinks, looked at the water and took another nap. Slept through my late dining at 8:15 so went to the buffet. I was highly disappointed with the buffet I mainly ate cheese some type of beef, the fish had an off taste and the veggies were kinda to spicy for my liking. I was able to piece together enough stuff so I was no longer hungry. After eating we walked around for a little while and went to the comedy show. What a delight! The comedy show and there were plenty waiters bringing drinks. After the shows we went to the dance club which was winding down but we listed to a few songs had a drink. We walked around outside and enjoyed the still and darkness of the night. I went to sleep while my bf explored the ship. Being inside you have no real perspective of time I woke around 10 ish hungry. I got dressed and wondered around looking for the dining room it was a lot of back and fourth up and down before I found it and it was closed by time I got there. People were still sitting eating but closed for new service. Bummed back to the buffet I went making a stop to get a power aid from the coffee shop. They had the basics I had sausage, bacon, potatoes, grits, waffles. I piled a few more items on the plate and took it back to the room to share with my bf. We ate got dressed for the day and I stopped to get a white chocolate Carmel Frappuccino. We explored Nassau for a few hours came back ate lunch I had fries and mushrooms from Guy's and bf ate salad and fish. We drank more took and nap and got dressed for the night and headed to diner. The main dining room had okay selections, from reading the reviews I knew I could order multiples and I did just that. I had the stuffed mushrooms and crab cake both were okay. For the entrée I had salmon and the shrimp. For desert I had the chocolate melting cake which was really good and the birthday cake which was gross. The waiters sang happy bday it was nice drink waiters were prompt with refilling my Patron margaritas . After dinner we went back to the comedy show which was hilarious again and had more drinks. After we went back into Nassau and hung out for a few hours. Woke up the next morning at sea. Started my day with power aid and we made it for brunch. Had delicious mimosas , pancakes, turkey sausage, pancakes and grits. This was the only meal that took a long time to get but everything was hot. After brunch I sent to the serenity deck to lay in the sun and let me tell you that was a different sun. I was to hot to lay out there so I found shade and kept drinking. We had late lunch at the buffet since the deli ran out of everything good. I was able to piece together a few items, continued by more drinking and a nap. We missed dinner wondering around the ship and ended up in the buffet. Again I ate cheese some random beef veggies and a few other things. The chocolate cake was really good. The remainder of the evening we sat in the casino where my bf could smoke and we drank the night away. After leaving the casino we were hungry and found the pizza place. Worst pizza ever, even for being drunk it was horrible. Ended up going back to the room and ordered room service. I got the Philly for $5 while not authentic it was good. Overall I enjoyed the cruise and I'm willing to try another one. I didn't drink anything free lol. Even in the buffet I ordered sprite or ginger ale. I started every morning with power aid and after breakfast I would have a Frappuccino. I ordered a bottled water after every other drink. Never drank 15 drinks in the day but got pretty close and never was really drunk like the liquor was fake or something. I've had similar experiences in Jamaica and started with doubles and got sick so I left well enough alone. I guess I was feeling it just not proportioned to the drinks that I had. They did have a really good free juice one day. The beverage package ended up being worth it and I will definitely get it if I cruise again. I wore swimsuits and cover up during the day and sundresses at night and I was always comfortable. The room was small but big enough for two people. Shower pressure was just fine and the water was always hot. We carry our luggage so it was a breeze getting on and off. The last day we had the buffet breakfast relaxed and walked on off. Read Less

Our 4 day cruise to the Bahamas and Half Moon Cay from Miami was wonderful. Flying in from Minnesota we were looking forward to soaking up the sunny warm weather since we left sub zero weather at home. We always try to fly in a day before the cruise leaves port to make sure we do not have any travel delays. Once arriving at the Port of Miami, our luggage was left curbside and we proceeded to priority check in and with in 45 minutes we were on the Lido deck sitting in a beach chair soaking up the wonderful rays of the sun. We have been on many cruises and love to book a balcony room so we are able to enjoy ordering room service and having our early morning coffee watching the sunrise and arriving in the port of call. We loved all the tile work and décor on the Victory. Our room was great and we had tons of storage room on the shelves available. However, we will not pick mid ship again on the Verandah deck, since we were under the lido deck and heard many noises, from moving tables and chairs to stomping to the music most of the night. The spring breakers were entertaining and very well behaved. We had many conversations with many college groups who were on vacation to enjoy the warm weather, relax and party. Half Moon Cay was very enjoyable with sugar sand beaches, beach chairs, a beach bar and a great BBQ lunch was prepared and available upon arrival. We chose not to do an excursion this trip, since we wanted to just sit on the beach enjoy the view of the water and soak up as much vitamin D as we could during our stay on the island. We had been to Nassau in the past, so during this visit we visited a local botanical garden, Ardastra Gardens and Zoo. The trained flamingos were great along with seeing many birds, turtles, reptiles and many beautiful flowers and trees. it was a short taxi ride from the dock. Senior Frogs is our favorite place to sit by the water and enjoy a beverage before we head back to the ship. We try to plan a cruise yearly, since we feel get the best value for our money. We like to have our destinations determined, and not have to decide where to go for dinner or decide what entertainment to enjoy. Being on a cruise gives you many opportunities to enjoy many different types of food, many different types of entertainment, or just sit and do nothing if we choose, all on a large floating city. We look forward to next year, we have already booked a 7 day Disney cruise from San Juan. We will be traveling with our children and grandchildren in January of 2020. Read Less

The Carnival Victory is a ship that needs to be put out to pasture. The ship looks about as old as they get, despite Carnival's supposed "refurbishment." From what I can tell, all they did was add two fast-food stations to the pool deck to help with the lunch overflow. You get what you pay for in the cruising biz and this ship was every bit as cheap as its price-tag. The Pro's - Check in was a breeze. Guy's Burger Bar is pretty good. The gym was decent. The Con's - They lost our luggage despite the fact we paid for "Faster to the Fun." The FOOD WAS TERRIBLE. Worse than a school cafeteria. I'm not joking. There were no "stations" at the buffet, only a perpetually long line, filled with annoyed people looking to further fatten themselves. Oddly, there wasn't really much in the way of "hand cleanliness" as found on other cruise ships. The room was passable, except for the balcony, which had signs of rust everywhere and windows in need of cleaning. The public spaces on the ship wanted to be a "South Pacific" style, but come off looking very cheap and dated, like one gigantic bad porno set. Tacky tile everywhere the eye can see, filled with dim multicolored signs for the various bars/lounges. The casino was NOT very giving, but that might just be my luck. Also, it was toxic in terms of its smoke content. The aft deck is completely a waste of space. The mini golf course is falling apart and laughable. There is a large "sunning" deck that would be better used as a sports court. The activities were minimal on the ship, with little in the way of actual planning or coordination. The lobby bar was minuscule - most trivia events happen here and there isn't much seating. We had to always wait to get seated in the dining room - 20 minutes was the minimum. Elevators take forever to arrive. The staff is pretty unfriendly overall. I could go on an on about how terrible this ship and our experience was. TRUST ME on this - you will be disappointed. Even if you think I'm one of those negative nellies - you'd be wrong. I'm a pretty forgiving sort. I was actually rooting for the cruise to be good at every turn as I don't get much time off. So....yeah. Buyer beware. Read Less
