To begin, yes this was our first Celebrity cruise but it was my 47th cruise overall. I had fairly high expectations for this ship and wanted to compare it with NCL although we tend to cruise on Silversea & Crystal. Definitely did not live up to my expectations. We were on the 2nd cruise since the ship was refurbished and the ship still was not 100% complete. When we arrived in our cabin the first day, the fan was so loud it sounded like an airplane taking off and the bathroom door was rattling (and we weren't even at sea). We found our cabin steward (he was excellent throughout) who called the engineer to fix the issues. We soon realized that our thermostat didn't work - whenever we wanted to adjust the temperature, the engineer had to be called. He would set it at either the warmest temperature or the coldest temperature. After the 4th time, we told the cabin steward that we would live with the cold. There was a "sofa" in the cabin that was enough for just one person - ridiculous! There were no gaskets around the doors so you could hear noise around you. We had an adjoining cabin and we heard every cough, sneeze, conversation and each time our neighbours went into their safe. When a gasket was installed around our cabin door, they broke the lock - we returned from an all-day excursion to find our door not latched. When we were in the cabin, we were able to push it closed to latch it but the lock didn't work. Again, the cabin steward had to be contacted and he had the issue fixed but as far as I'm concerned, it should not have happened in the first place. Who leaves someone's cabin door open? Thankfully nothing was missing. Dining was another issue. In the buffet, you could not have breakfast without being interrupted by a crew member trying to sell dining packages. This is not appropriate and intrusive. The buffet was dull and uninspired with nothing memorable. The main dining room wasn't much better - the water tasted of chlorine (only this dining venue) so I depended on bottled water (good thing I had the drink package) and the food was so salty that it was unappetizing (maybe to try and sell more drink packages). The only good meals were in the specialty dining rooms - Sushi on 5 was delicious, Tuscan Grille was pretty good and Qzine was a great experience. The itinerary was great which is what drew us to this cruise. The 2 shore excursions that we did through the ship were good. Usually on cruises, I don't think much about the end of the cruise but I honestly can say that I couldn't wait to get off this ship. When we arrived in Singapore the day before disembarkation, we contacted the hotel that we were staying in for one night and we were able to add an additional night so we got off the ship a day early. The funny thing is when we went to Guest Relations to advise that we were disembarking, no one asked us why. I would have gladly told them why and I was sure to be detailed in my survey, Read Less

We chose this cruise because we wanted to go to the Far East, the ports of call were fabulous, the ship and staff were so helpful, they are genuine, and cannot do enough for you, it’s great being on a ship with lots of different nationalities, as it’s great to talk to people from so many countries, also the ship caters for many different food choices, the food is absolutely great in the buffet, lots to choose from. The shops onboard could be better, not much selection, the shows could have done with more variety, a couple of acts were not great, room for improvement, but overall we would go on millennium again. All our transfers were very good. I must say, the captain was hilarious, he was just so funny when he gave his announments over the tannoy, we did have about 5 shore excursions, which I must say were very informative, and not as expensive as some ships. Great holiday Read Less

70 th birthday celebration disasterous choice. We booked a sky suite near the very top of the range cabins. We identified a twenty point plus list of problems in the cabin some which where never solved all the time we were on board. Others solved/improved by the fifth day of seven. A five star luxury cruise it was not. Example electrical wiring with exposed ends hanging out of the bathroom wall. No bedside lighting switches that worked. we has to cross the cabin in the dark to get into bed. No curtains on the balcony window. Electrical supply to the cabin in consistent or not working with some sockets. Tile grout and adhesive all over the bathroom walls, the solution was to paint over it, then of course it goes away?? No covers on the ventilation shafts in the bathroom and the covers they did eventually were old and falling apart leaving deposits in the bath and the bathroom floor. The most annoying and amusing problem was the bath room door did not fit and either stuck or clattered against the wall all day and night. The solution, self engineered, was to wedge a toilet roll behind the door and the wall, this was in place for the week. The staff on the ship were sympathetic and pleasant but those who manage Celebrity have little regard for their passengers who as in our case paid a great deal of money for 5 stat luxury which frankly did did exist. We Chose this holiday because it took in some places we haven’t seen in that area . The problem with this cruise was the cost of the drinks it’s which was the most I’ve ever paid on any ship . The food was okay but the hot food wasn’t very hot. Wi-Fi was overpriced. One good thing was the entertainment residents and guest artist . But you could’ve done with a comedian . The cabins were excellent, and the cabin staff were very good. specially Ed cabin 6084 . Shore excursions were okay, coaches were very good Plenty of water on board at no additional charge which is unusual . The guide on board was very very knowledgeable and friendly also the drivers . The meal on our first stop was okay apart from raw chicken which when mentioned no one seems to take responsibility. The second trip off ship had a very enjoyable lunch, meal was excellent lovely hotel local music being played and singers. Read Less

We chose this to fill in the gap between visiting Singapore and Hong Kong. A disappointing start at embarkation. We were concierge class but no effort had been made for us to embark quickly and we had to find staff to usher us through. As it was we boarded at 1pm, we had been invited for luncheon valid until 1.30pm. We could have missed this. Our luggage did not get to our cabin until 8pm which we consider very poor. We dined in the restaurant each evening, second sitting. Every time we complained on the temperature of the food and why supposedly hot food was served on cold plates. We were not aware that we had a classic beverage package until the penultimate evening, If we had known we would not have purchased a wine package. Why were we not informed of this when the wine package was purchased? We had a Shore Excursion to Na Trang, Vietnam, where our Guide always seemed to be in a hurry getting off the coach and walking well ahead of the group leading them along busy streets and across roads with no consideration for those who could not keep up. The main reason we chose this ship was the itinerary. we were pleasantly surprised to find the ship had been refurbished and we were the first passengers to benefit .We had an outside cabin 2082,which was lovely. It was refurbished to a very high standard with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and kingside bed. The bathroom was beautiful too with a power shower .We were midship deck 2 and it was quiet. The ship is not too big and therefore friendly, it had a homely feel about it, beautiful but not too glitzy. I was slightly disappointed with the evening entertainment,no West End shows that I have seen on other cruise ships. The exception were Sonz Of Soul who were brilliant They even took time out after the show to have pictures took with the passengers. The food in the dining room was lovely but a bit repetitive, with the same choices every night Some nights the service was slow too. We chose to eat in the self service restaurant a couple of evenings where the food lovely with lots of choice. The dress code was chic, which meant smart, without being too formal, although you could dress up as much as you wanted without feeling out of place. If you chose not to dress up you could eat in the self service dining room instead. We did 3 excursions, all good, especially the one in Nha Trang, where we visited Buddhist Temples. The captain was very funny and joined in when he could. he cruise Director was very good too He did a talk about his life, he came across as a very kind and compassionate man. I really enjoyed this cruise and would love to do it again inthe near future. Read Less

At embarkation we had to show our passports about four times and then they took them off us!!! The ship was in excellent condition following a recent re-fit but more attention should have been given to the outstanding snags. The food was very good in the standard restaurants but the world class dining (extra £35 per head) was certainly not world class and bore no resemblance to the menu shown on the Celebrity website (very underhanded by Celebrity), it even had pizza on the it. I didn't even turn up for the second booking and was prepared to lose the £70 paid. Although i took out the beverage package it was very confusing understanding what was and what was not included. I found the staff very polite. Two out of the three places where the ship stopped were disappointing as they were miles from any form of tourist attraction and therefore cost a lot of money in taxis getting anywhere, although this was still much, much cheaper than booking through Celebrity. Getting on and off the ship was well managed. Read Less

we went to Abi Dubai first then to Singapore the room was so small we had to stand one person at the end of the room so the other could pass so was upset about that. the city of Singapore was great we have said we would go back there for a weeks stay .the only thing was that we were up very early so could get to the cruise terminal by 10 am then we had to sit around until 1 pm before we got onto the ship, once on the ship we had a look around and was most impressed the cabin which had a balcony was very nice only thing was there was no shower things in the the shower room so couldn't get freshen up,and no greeting cards and when we asked we were told "the boss hasn't given them to us yet" if she does i will drop them off" also had to wait more then 20 hours for owe suitcase which was dropped off at 10 am that morning boarding and didn't get back until 11,30 the next day by which time we had gone out the first night in clothes we had had on all that day and was sad that we couldn't get changed and felt appointed. cant fault the dinning rooms we liked eating in around the world area (ocean view buffet) we could eat from so many different county's but again i did have to ask for serving spoons some nights and ask for the lighting to be turned up so i could see what i was eating, the service was not 100% from the staff,Cant fault the entertainment each night there was something for everybody would have liked to have seen a smile on some of the staff faces sometimes as for the service for the rooms i have to say we were very disappointing the man never cleaned the balcony all week we were in the room he would came and just make the bed and took 1 second to clean the shower room and we had to ask for more shower gel etc, shore excursion were very good, we have to ask do we give celebrity a second chance or not. will have to see the review from celebrity next tour out, we didn't get any compensation or rewards or feedback from celebrity when we did the survey which we were not happy about. This was our first cruise with Celebrity and were just lucky it had a total makeover in dry dock January 2019 just prior to our sailing. We had Aqua Class and expected Priority Check-in, mistakingly believing this meant Priority boarding. We had quite a wait to embark and felt it was the one thing that Aqua Class was missing to make the experience extra special. So this is the significant difference between Aqua and Conciege ... Concierge get Priority Boarding and special welcoming lunch, along with champagne in the cabin. Aqua do not, however, I will explain later why Aqua Class is worth it; in my view Aqua makes up for it in other ways. If these two benefits were added on to Aqua, it would be an amazing package. The ship is beautiful. We had Aqua Class Balcony Stateroom 9095 which was lovely and quiet, midships. The aircon wasnt great, in fact pretty poor but the engineers were working on it. Balcony was great although a new overhang had been erected above us for new cabins on deck 10 which meant we had no breeze or sunshine, although my husband thought this was a bonus to get out of the burning sun in the South China Sea! Aqua Class main benefit is unquestionably the outstanding Blu Restaurant, which made our holiday. The standard of food and service here, exclusively for Aqua Class guests was superb. Only open for breakfast and dinner (no need to book, just eat when it suits you) but truly worthwhile. Other benefits were subtle such as Persian Garden access in the spa (which I only used once) and extra special toiletries/bath robes (which were slow to arrive) were OK but Blu was the showstopper. You dont get chapagne in your room, or early priority boarding, these appear to be the only benefits of Concierge Class that we could see. Entertainment throughout the many bars and theatre enabled us to enjoy a variety of genres and spaces throughout our cruise and was well catered for. Service on board Celebrity was fabulous. The staff incredibly attentive and importantly, they were cheerful despite the numerous teething problems guests were bombarding them with. Some of the issues others experienced were caused by the re-fit and were unfortunate but our experience was excellent. I was very disappointed to see the queues of a certain generation of guest waiting to cancel their tips. The only reason ... to save a few quid! These people have no respect for the host of crew working hard behind the scenes to make their holiday the best it can be. Yes, it is hard for UK travellers to stomach the tips cost, but the crew are reliant on the tips and the cruiseline is not British. Please budget this into your holiday and take it on the chin. I acknowledge some guests like to thank particular people who have looked after them well but this should be in addition to the tips package, not instead as those front of house could not possibly do their jobs if it werent for the masses behind the scenes. Cruise organised trips were on the whole good, efficient and hassle free without the worry of not getting back on time, so I would highly recommend. I did have an issue with the ChuChi tunnels trip, the guide knew nothing and could hardly speak English, although other guides on the same trip were excellent. In hind sight I should have complained but I had better ways to spend my time than standing in a queue to moan! I also hated Nah Trang (Vinpearl Island) and wished I had stayed on the ship. Some people were grumpy about the slow tender disembarkation but weather conditions frustrated the efforts of the captain to anchor closer to shore, meaning it was slower than usual. If only Celebrity could control the weather! Didnt stop some people being horribly intolerant though! North Vietnam port of Hoi An was the highlight of our three ports in Vietnam and I highly recommend the cycle tour here, which is on the level through beautifulpaddy fields and vegetable patches and a fab lunch included, with plenty of time to explore Hoi An. The town is touristy, but still lovely. We highly recommend a tour of the ship (quite expensive given they do it in-house) but you do see aspects of the ship that are enlightening and worthwhile, including the incredible automated laundry, huge kitchens, engine viewing hub and of course, the Bridge. Overall we felt Celebrity were streets ahead of P&O and Royal Caribbean for customer service. The staff are so keen to please. I will not mention anything did not impact me or interfered with my enjoyment of my holiday ... Our experience was so good that we booked a future cruise. The only thing that did impact was the unreasonable moaning of other guests! I wished Celebrity would just include tips as part of the cruise price, to manage the expectations of the British culture. I think it would be easier for guests to accept. Read Less

When booked we didn’t know the Millennium was being refitted which would have worried us. Despite a few horror stories from others over dinner we can only judge as we found and our room was perfect. We understand some people got free cruises or some good compensation for their cabins not being ready. Great service, food and quality of excursion we chose although others reported a bit hit and miss. Wonderful entertainment on board with live bands throughout the ship every day. Only slight gripe was speed of service at the bars. When on a drinks package, it still take >14 key presses to ring in a drink on the till and there was much dissatisfaction on how many staff and the speed of service particularly at peak times plus queue jumping was an issue. All in all a great first cruise for us leaving us wanting more. We’ll definitely look at celebrity again and can recommend Millennium without any hesitation. Read Less
