I saw ad on television and decided to book it. We booked our flight with Viking so we were picked up from the airport, transported to our ship. Embarkation was smooth, from the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. We had a beautiful cabin with balcony, staff responded quickly to our needs. It was nice to meet the captain, learn about the navigation. Dining experience great, the best service you could imagine, every evening chef told us what will be served. we had a chance to try meals from different countries such Germany, France, Holland. The tours were well organized, on time, comfortable buses. We had the guides on every tour, listening devices allowed us to hear everything without difficulty. We attended several activities on the ship such concerts, presentations, trivia, had a great time. Viking daily gave us ability to plan our day. We traveled without children, plan to go again. We chose this cruise because we enjoy seeing new destinations that are less entertaining and more relaxing and educational. Everyone we met who had ever traveled with Viking raved about the experience and now we do too! Already planning a second cruise! So many exciting destinations to choose from now! Our positive experience began with our first call to Viking and continued to get even better upon our arrival to the ship. We were warmly welcomed like we were family arriving for a stay. Our bags were wicked away and we were directed to the ships dining area for a "light" lunch...don't believe the "light" part! We spent three wonderful days exploring Lucerne, Switzerland, and had traveled to Basel by an easy train ride the morning of the embarkation. Our rooms were ready much earlier than we expected and in pristine order. With time to rest first, we headed to our first lounge experience and a magnificent dinner. We soon found that this was to be our daily schedule of luxury. Even with colder than ever expected temperatures during our cruise, the crew worked diligently to make us comfortable and happy! We were blown away by the efficiency of the Viking tour buses, guides and destinations selected for us. Each country experience was one to cherish. Just imagine snow in the Black Forest while you walked around just smelling the air! Summing things up, the main thing that makes us anxious to return was the capable, knowledgeable, friendly and delightful crew! From the Captain, to the housekeepers, this staff was fit for royalty! Our Cruise Director was simply amazing and would have been successful in any job but you could tell he was passionate about the world he traveled! Sorry, but I cannot think of a single thing to complain about! Simply terrific! Read Less

We had been on one Danube cruise with Viking and liked it so much that we chose a Rhine River itinerary this time. The ALRUNA was similar to Viking's Danube ship that we had taken before and very nice in all ways. The cabin and amenities were fine and very clean and well-kept and very up-to-date as if recently refurbished. Dining was not assigned seating and reservations were not needed - the "open concept" dining model suits us. Meal service was pleasant, unobtrusive and prompt. Food was delicious, with enough "staple American" choices plus specialties (particularly Asian) as well. We loved the alfresco BBQ buffet on the deck and also the German cuisine buffet very much. Sausages were great, fresh and authentic. And the many Indonesian, Thai and other Asian offerings on the lunch and evening buffets were really tasty and seemed authentic. ROOM SERVICE WAS SPECTACULAR! Always accurate, quick and with a smile! We did not take in all of the evening entertainment offerings because we preferred to just relax on the deck or in our cabin. But the house band and house duo were very good, as was the "crew night" entertainment with talented crew members singing, playing, and dancing, etc. The land excursions were well-run, with excellent local experts and interpreters. We liked the pub crawls and of course the historic buildings, churches and so forth. The windmill site at Kinderdjik was probably the most unusual excursion of the whole trip and we loved it (UNESCO World Heritage site and so it should be)! About the only thing that we could possibly fault was the TV reception. We thought, with so many urban areas on the itinerary, the ship would be able to pick up satellite feeds, but not so much. But you have to be prepared for that. Internet was very strong most of the way! And we elected to spend several nights in BAsel after the cruise since neither of us had been there. What a lovely and hospitable city, and fairly reasonable by Swiss standards. So I would give Viking a 99.9999 rating on this cruise - spectacular, safe, delicious and educational! Read Less

We chose Viking, because our friends had taken a trip and had loved it. From the moment I made the first call, the Viking staff were great arranging everything for the trip, I just had to decide on which one. They have thought of everything, and the spoiling begins from the moment they pick you up at the airport! We fell in love with the staff on board our Longship Alruna for our Rhine Getaway, at the end of our week I felt I had made friends for life. Our room, the food, the shore excursion each day with a guide, the on board surprises, the river scenery from the ship are but just a few of the reasons my husband and I had the time of our life! Plus the friends we made, one special couple flew out to visit us for a few days this winter and while they were at our home we booked another trip we are taking together in a couple of months. Naturally with Viking! This time we are doing the "Danube Waltz", I've heard rave reviews, I can't wait! Read Less

We had been on a previous cruise a few years ago, and loved this way of traveling. Were anxious to take another trip on one of the European rivers. We get a lot of mail and emails from Viking, and finally chose the Basel to Amsterdam Rhine cruise because we were able to get $100 round trip airfare from Kansas City -- the deal of a lifetime! The Viking Alruna is a new beautiful new ship with cabins efficiently designed to maximize space. We had a "French balcony" unit that allows for opening sliding doors for fresh air and to experience the movement of the river. We loved it, and would try for this type of accommodation again. It is hard to find enough superlatives to describe the staff. They were consummate professionals, while, at the same time, very approachable and seemed to enjoy being with the passengers. They took very good care of us. The chef was highly skilled and, along with his staff and the dining room team, provided an excellent dining experience morning, noon, and night. Especially pleasurable was the policy of not assigning tables. We met lovely people from a number of countries, and, surprisingly, encountered two couples from our own city! The shore excursions, both the included and extra ones, were well planned and well paced. One of our favorites was an evening on shore at a German restaurant with authentic cuisine and music. Lots of fun! Can't wait for our next trip in Viking! Read Less

This was our 2nd Viking Cruise and it most definitely will not be our last. We were so impressed the first time we cruised (the Danube River) with Viking that we couldn't wait to experience the stress free travel, beautiful state rooms, superb dining, outstanding crew and incredible tours that are all a part of the Viking experience. This year we traveled the Rhine River on the brand new Viking Alruna that was christened just 2 months before our cruise. The ship is beautifully designed with comfortable spacious public areas, immaculate and sunlit inside dining areas, gorgeous outside spaces to not only eat, as in the Aquavit Terrace, but the upper deck where you can relax in lounge chairs or hang out at the front of the ship under umbrella'd tables. The state rooms are extremely comfortable, spacious and well appointed. The dining is excellent with ever changing menus made with fresh ingredients. The guided tours are well thought out and hosted by knowledgeable, professional guides. The last and a very unique part of the Viking experience is the crew and staff. From our first friendly greeting by Hotel Manager Evelyn K. and Ship Director Dewi K., to our funny, sweet bartender Dana, right down to each and every member of the wait staff, to our room staff, it feels like you're traveling with family. Viking pays attention to detail, not only meets but anticipates your every need, and overall just "gets it right". Read Less

Advertisements of PBS peaked our interest in a river cruise on the Rhine, it seemed so beautiful. We often told our children that we would some day take a river cruise and for our 40 wedding anniversary the cruise was presented to us as our gift for that occasion. From the time we began our discussion with Viking until we boarded our aircraft to return home the process was totally painless. The planning phase was effortless with all the heavy lifting done by your agents. We said what we wanted to do and they made it happen. That continued through out the journey. We were met at the Amsterdam airport, shepherded to awaiting buses and transported to the ship. Since it was Alruna's madden voyage our room was ready even though we arrived before 0900. We were very warmly greeted on arrival at the ship by a very friendly and helpful staff and were shown to our room The stateroom was small and storage space was somewhat at a premium, but very comfortable. Being a new ship, the room was very clean, and remained that way through out our voyage. The hotel staff under the direction of Evelyn catered to everyones needs. All aspects of the dining experience was outstanding. The food was great as was the service with a wide verity of choices. I can not speak highly enough about executive chef Mark Anthony and his staff. For those used to large ship cruised may be disappointed by the onboard entertainment. However, not being a fan of those ships we found the entertainment both enjoyable and educational. A great adjunct to our shore excursions. For those who don't like disembarking at ports of call on large cruise ship will find shore excursions very refreshing. Very manageable due to the small number of passengers, it allows for a more in-depth experience. The guides were all locals which truly brought our tours to life. One interesting highlight, several of the guests, at our request, were awakened at 0430 to witness the passing of the bridge at Remagen. As we passed by Captain Balwierz illuminated the towers with his search light and Evelyn, who I am sure never slept, passed out shots of schnapps. I, being a retired airline pilot and recreational sailor, found the ship to be most interesting. I therefore sought out Captain Balwierz, and I must say may have pestered him a bit, but his warmth and hospitality was most noteworthy. It made my voyage much more enjoyable, and for that I was most thankful. To the question, "Would you do it again", let me respond by saying that I HATED to leave. Read Less

The crew was extremely accommodating and eager to help, very pleasant from the captain through all of the various levels, right down to the steward in charge of our room. They really made it feel like they were one big family!! It was a busy week, breakfasted and out by 8:30 every day. The cruise certainly lived up to my expectations. Too bad we had rainy weather, but that's no one's fault, just the luck of the draw. I would go again, but my advice is to try to get a group of friends and family members to go with you, this way you will have your own group to enjoy the meals and evenings with!! Also be aware that it was on older crowd. If you are looking for "nightlife" you might not get what you expected. Read Less

My husband and I had never, ever been on a cruise before. We wanted a river cruise which would offer the two of us a leisurely, romantic and "educational" experience. We chose a Viking Rhine Getaway river cruise. I have to say, for our first cruise ever, what a way to go!! The entire ship was designed in modern Nordic style with multiple spaces for relaxing, including a lounge, library, dining room, and Aquavit Terrace in the bow for casual European style breakfasts and lunches. We were on the highest stateroom level, and the ship's movement was smooth and rather quiet. On each level, there was a counter area serving cookies, pastries, water, and multiple types of delicious hot beverages from an automated machine. I had my daily fix of madelines and hot chocolate! The top level had the wheelhouse, outdoor carpeting for sure footing, which I appreciated, tables, chairs, chaises longues, a walking track, even an herb garden. We took advantage of the choice in dining. We could choose to eat in the Aquavit Terrace, where the entire wall of glass doors was opened during the day, or the dining room which did not seem crowded despite the number of staff and passengers. There was one general seating with no preassigned table or companions or formal dress code. The food was incredible, delicious, varied, and planned around the geographic location of the tour. We enjoyed breakfasts on the terrace where we enjoyed the passing sights as we ate. I enjoyed the more relaxed nature of the dining experience as opposed to other cruises I have only heard about. The only thing I didn't enjoy about the dining was one evening when strolling musicians played accordion and violin while we ate. The music was a little too intrusive and that combined with the noise of conversation made for a rather loud evening. Each day offered an included guided tour of a town or region, and then most times an optional tour which averaged 45 euros/person. The guides were always very knowledgeable, so we were able to get a more complete picture of the area visited based on the history and development of the area. You have the choice of going on as many or as few tours as you want. There were also several presentations or lectures on board hat we found informative and enjoyable, and evening games like trivia if you are so inclined. I can't say enough about the staff from the crew, housekeeping, dining service, concierges, and the very talented social director. Many members of crew and staff did double in more than one area. All were polite, friendly, and attentive with rather good English, and went out of their way to make sure we were completely satisfied. The majority of the passengers were English-speaking. I was surprised by this as I was expecting more Europeans on board. If you value a more European language-speaking tour, then this cruise might not be for you. This tour seemed to appeal to established couples although there were one preteen on board and a couple of young adults. Viking seemed to pay close attention to all the details overlooked at many resorts, and we chose a pre-cruise option which gave us two extra days in Amsterdam, giving us the opportunity to choose the places we wanted to visit. This was our 7th Viking river cruise and we are planning more. We had taken the Grand European, which covered much of the same area down the Rhine with an extension on this cruise past Germany's Main river into Switzerland (we totally enjoyed the extension in Basel since the trams run everywhere -- we visiting 4 museums and the Basel zoo all in one day using the trams). For this Rhine River cruise, we were with friends whose bucket list included a stop at Der Roten Ochsen (the Red Ox) in Heidelberg, since for years, it was a pub hangout for high schools kids whose dads were in the military and stationed in Heidelberg. We were on the second embarkation of the Viking Alruna and were entirely impressed by the staff and crew on this new boat. The cruise director Nick was not only highly adept at the details of the fascinating excursions but was as much an entertainer as anyone actually performing for us (and there was some wonderful music from entertainers who came on board). I heard other passengers asking how they could find out what other boats Nick would be on so they could take another cruise with him. The daily service and staff were nothing short of outstanding, thanks to Evelyn who oversaw it all. When American Airlines lost our bags for 6 days, Evelyn did everything she could to help us. Her concierge made numerous phone calls every day for us tracing our bags and Evelyn had the few clothes we had from our carry-ons washed for us each day (complementary). She even upgraded our cabin when one came available due to a family emergency and their disembarkation. . Our fellow travelers were very understanding too, kidding me about wearing my t-shirt tied to different sides as a "new outfit today"! It was such fun and just shows the camaraderie and friendships that develop on these cruises. Fun, wonderful food, wonderful wines. All in all, a delightful cruise with inspiring and educational sights along the way. Highly recommend, especially on the Viking Alruna. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of our interest in the cities along the Rhine. We visited Amsterdam on our own prior to embarkation there and we extended our vacation by one week in Switzerland after disembarking in Basel. The Viking Alruna was very new and spotless. The crew were exceptional with everyone aiming to please all guests. There was a good mix of seasoned and new Viking vacationers and also a good mix of passengers, from young couples and families to retirees. The cities visited were great and the included tours gave us a sense of the culture in each. There was sufficient time to explore most ports on our own in addition to the guided tours. We took one optional tour to Colmar which we really enjoyed. The food on the Viking was great with many selections at each meal, including healthy choices. The on board entertainment was a nice bonus as well. The program director was wonderful. He kept us informed and amused during the whole cruise. We would recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a relaxing and visually enjoyable cruise along the Rhine. Read Less

I open the review by saying we didn't actually cruise all the days because the river was so high. That is the chance to one takes signing up for a river cruise and unfortunately we lost the bet. So we boarded out ship the second evening after spending the night near Basel Airport in a hotel room provided by Viking. Boarding the ship once we got to it was a breeze. So much easier than the ocean cruises we have been on. And you get to keep your passport! The cruise itself was lovely. The vessel, the Alruna, is still brand new and we were delighted by the ship and our small but functional cabin. The public areas are filled with light so you never get a closed in feeling. The upper deck is quite large and can accommodate all the passengers but you don't feel crowded. The lounge and dining can also accommodate all the passengers comfortably. The crew were everything we expect and more. Very accommodating, very polite, very helpful. Unlike some cruises we have been on there was no constant sales pitch for souvenirs, special meals, or special activities. We enjoyed the excursions. It was fun walking off the ship at most ports to have a local tour with a local guide. The guides always spoke perfect English! Take the optional beer hall tour in Rudesheim if you can, it was a kick! The meals were tasty and the free beer and wine were drinkable! Loved going to the lounge after the afternoon activities were over for a cup of tea and cookies. We have already signed up for another cruise with Viking! Read Less

They handled all arrangements to get us there and back to our hotel. The hotel was a Marriott and very comfortable. Once we embarked, we observed that the boat was new and wonderful. we were immediately impressed with the layout and roominess of our stateroom. The quality of service, professionalism of the crew and their attention to every detail needed to make us comfortable was great. We chose this particular cruise for our honeymoon because we knew two other couples who had taken, and they both had given it 5 stars. We felt completely taken care of from the time we landed at the airport for our 2-day pre-cruise extension up to and including the time we were dropped off at the airport after a 2 day post-cruise extension. We loved having 2 days in Amsterdam. We adjusted to the time difference (very important!), explored the city by mastering the trolley system, and saw as much as we could. Viking gave us a 3-hour orientation tour of the city which greatly helped to orient us. Boarding the ship was easy, and we were welcomed warmly by all members of the crew. We found our cabin to be small, but comfortable. It was perfect for sleeping but not for hanging around it. Every meal was amazing. Everything was well prepared, well presented, and delicious. There was great temptation to sample a little bit of everything and to eat more than necessary. I highly recommend having the chef's special (whatever it is). I am an adventurous eater, so I felt no need to fall back on ribeye steaks or fillet of salmon. The wait-staff was attentive and professional. The daily activities were always worth doing. Sometimes there is so much to see that it was a challenge to keep up with the guide. We paid for an extra excursion in Strasbourg. It was an all-day tour specifically designed to show us the city and to eat all forms of local fare (cheese, bread, sausage, tarte flambe!, wine, and pastries) AWAY from the tourist traps. This was the crown jewel of our tour and we would do it again in a heartbeat! On-board entertainment was fun, spirited and family friendly. The cruise director was charming. She and all of her colleagues kept us entertained, informed, and together. One thing I particularly liked was the attention to detail. There were delightful surprises throughout the cruise (that I won't mention here so they remain surprises). We are already saving up to do this (or another) Viking cruise again. Read Less

Our first choice was actually the Elbe River, but we were concerned about the river level being as low as it had been the previous year. Passengers last year had to be bussed to some of the tour sites. Thus, our second choice was the Rhine since we are more familiar with the area. We were delighted. Our cabin was immaculate, and we were looked after by a delightful stewardess. We had two restaurants to choose from and the food was fantastic. Lighter fare was always available, along with gourmet selections. The wait-staff was charming and efficient. We took all of the included tours and chose one additional offering. The tour guides at each stop were entertaining and knowledgeable. We wouldn't have missed any of it! Although there were evening programs offered, we most often were perfectly content to retire early. We are both in our 70's and the days activities were all-consuming. Our tour director was trying very hard to be enthusiastic, entertaining and encouraging. We found her a bit too ebullient at times, but others seemed to get caught up in her enthusiasm. One shining light for us was the Viking consierge at our hotel in Basel. We arrived two days before our river cruise began so that we could have a chance to see something of Basel. This woman made suggestions, actually walked us to the best place to get a tram pass and train tickets to Lucerne, directed us to little-known areas of the old city, and just generally made our visit very special. The dates worked for us, and we've always wanted to see the Rhine. Friends highly recommended Viking and this route. We loved it. We loved the ease of travel (unpacking only once), the well-organized nature of the shore excursions, the amazing food, and the even more amazing staff. Did I mention the meals? Well, let me reiterate: the variety of menu choices, the excellent wine and beer, and the first-rate service made mealtimes a delight. The ship was comfortable and well-appointed, and the service was superb. We are already planning our next Viking River cruise. We are not "big cruise ship" people, but the Viking River cruises are the perfect size. We met interesting people with similar interests, and our tour director was delightful and full of knowledge about the region. Our guides on the shore excursions were similarly well-prepared. Highlights for us included Strasbourg--a gorgeous city, Heidelburg, the Black Forest, and the behind-the-scenes tour of the kitchen. How do they feed all those people in that tiny galley. Our only regret was that we didn't spend an extra night or two in Basel at the end of the trip. Read Less

My friend and I wanted to go on a river cruise and so after we got our husbands to agree we all decided that Viking was THE river cruise company so we chose them. We went to Amsterdam a day early and explored the city. That also gave us the opportunity to get accustomed to the time zone before we got on the ship, which I highly recommend. We took a nap in the afternoon and explored the city at night. We got to bed at a normal time and woke up refreshed and ready to start our cruise. Getting on the ship was super easy and we quickly settled into our stateroom. Because Viking sent us emails ahead of time, we had planned our entire vacation before we left home. We just sat back and enjoyed the journey. There was enough space in our room that we never felt closed in and sitting on the balcony at night was delightful. We found that with the ship being sized right, we were able to meet a lot of our fellow passengers and even though we had our best friends with us, we met many more people who we enjoyed spending time with. The shore excursions were led by people who knew their excursion area well. They were not with the ship but people who were actually living in that town and knew it very well. Because we planned two years in advance we were able to pay for our cruise over time so that part was not a burden. We will never regret paying a little more for our cruise because Viking is definitely the way to go. The crew was amazing and the food was awesome. Since we've done the Rhine, we are looking at the Danube next. Read Less

On our previous Viking River Cruise we met another couple with whom we became good friends. Over the years, we have stayed close and even visited each others distant homes several times. Finally, we made good on our promises to each other and we sailed Viking together again! This time we chose the Rhine, from Amsterdam to Basel. Upon arrival the Amsterdam port was crowded beyond capacity, so our Longship was berthed at a location just outside of the main city. No problem. Viking made certain that a constant flight of shuttles and guides were ready to take us to and from the city center for exploration. We noticed on the first night that our stateroom was impeccably kept and clean - just like it was on our last cruise. The dining, if anything, was even a bit better than before, with an ever changing menu of local cuisines and exceptional service. Toward the end of the cruise we were all given a tour of the clean, efficient galley. It's just incredible that such a relatively small space can consistently produce such variety and quality. A big advantage of the Viking experience is that guests and crew really get to know each other. After a day or two our service staff began to anticipate and plan ahead for our needs and wishes. Clearly Viking has a special relationship with their crews and they are somehow able to recruit exceptional people with great hospitality skills and a cheerful sense of humor. The Rhine trip, from the windmills of Kinderdijk to the historic castles and canyon vineyards of Germany is an ever changing adventure of history and scenery. As we cruised, our cruise director provided us with cultural and historic background that would serve us upon our ground tours the next day. The tours were well organized with quality bus transportation when needed, and great local tour guides. We sometimes broke away to do our own thing when the mood and opportunity struck. As long as we were careful to note our ship's berth location and the times of departure we were free to explore on our own. The focus of Viking tours is to experience the local surroundings which we certainly did. Much of the actual cruising is done in the evening or late night while guests relax on-board. This gave our crew's social staff a chance to shine with special demonstrations of local cooking or art. Sometimes it was as simple as trivia contests over wine and cocktails. Our Social Director was a Brit with a previous career in stand-up comedy, and he was genuinely funny and engaging, encouraging shipboard camaraderie while challenging crew and guests alike to make the most of every moment. I'm sure there were a few unanticipated problems aboard as there would be with any cruise, but our crew handled everything so seamlessly we would hardly have noticed. This is why we do plan to sail again with Viking and we look forward to our next adventure! Read Less

The Viking concierge Holly, was outstanding. The Schweizerhof Hotel was old world elegant and the walking tour and best of Switzerland tour was the best. Then to Basel and we boarded the Alruna. What a beautiful ship. Clean, modern, and very well laid out. Cruising the Rhine was such a great experience. The old world beauty and all the castles made it a once in a lifetime experience. We went on The "Taste the Best of Alsace" tour, wonderful. Our Anniversary dinner in Rudesheim was special, and Nick, our program director, helped make it a very special time. The Alruna staff even made us a special Anniversary cake the next day for us. As usual, Viking met our every expectation and more. The entire staff of the Alruna made sure that our cruise was the best ever and a memorable trip. Would we go again? In a heartbeat. Read Less

Wanted to try Viking Longship- had not done the Rhine nor been to Switzerland before. Booked on early bird discount- airfare was terrific, booked through Viking and paid to have airline of our choice, airports and extension of dates. Flew to Zurich and spent 3 days before taking train to Basel for ship. Traveling with another couple- we were able to take excursions in the same group. Restaurant was terrific- food and service was excellent, cruise director was great, everything on the cruise was just as advertised. We had lowest priced cabin which was clean and comfortable- a little small, but most of the cabins were the same size. The local guides for the excursions were very knowledgable and the group size, and hearing devices were perfect for the old town and other small venues we visited. We had gorgeous clear weather for the narrated trip along the Rhine for the castles. On the basis of that trip, we have booked a Viking ocean cruise next year. Read Less

This was my first River Cruise after doing dozens of ocean cruises. It was a Rhine River Cruise from Basel, Switzerland to Amsterdam. Viking was fabulous. Terrific service throughout the cruise and also with the pre-cruise and post-cruise optional stays in Basel and Amsterdam. The ship's crew and ground staff were top notch, very professional and highly courteous. The daily excursions were all excellent with professional guides throughout. The food service and dining arrangements were excellent as well. We had a group of about twenty people traveling with us from the United States and all of us were very impressed with Viking and its staff from the reservations process through and until the last day of the our stay in Europe with Viking's chosen hotels. Viking's pre-cruise information documents package and their informational videos were also very professionally done and helpful for planning and preparing for the trip and the numerous destinations along the river. Viking River Cruises is excellent and I would definitely cruise with Viking again! Read Less

We chose this as our first cruise because we wanted to see the particular sites along the Rhine River. We were greeted by name as we boarded. With only about 188 passengers on the cruise, the staff knew us by name and were friendly, professional and courteous. When my daughter had a problem that required medical care, the staff ordered a taxi, escorted her to it, and gave the driver directions where to go. The meals were excellent. The excursions (both those included and those that were extra) were excellent, as well. The ship was immaculate, and we were provided with a wheel house tour - an incredible ship. Travel was smooth on the River. Our staterooms were very comfortable, modern, and kept immaculate by the staff. I VERY HIGHLY recommend Viking for any river cruise you wish to take. While the entire crew and staff were attentive, we would like to give special kudos to our cruise director, Nick Hale, who made this cruise the best we might ever hope for. Read Less

Wanted to do a river cruise that would enable us to see as many different places as possible and really wanted to see the Rhine and Germany. EVERYTHING about this trip was first class from the room and the crew to the food and the excursions we took. I would and have HIGHLY recommended this trip to all of my friends and customers and will definitely be taking another trip like this in the future. The only thing I will do differently in the future is go in to the embarkation city at least a day early to get to spend more time there. All of the shore excursions that are included in the price of the trip were excellent and very informative. The on-shore guides were very good and provided a lot of information. The free time to explore was just enough to do and see what we wanted to see in the time we had. Read Less
