We boarded the ship in Ft Lauderdale and it was quick and easy. Our Concierge Cabin mid-ship on Deck 8 was a reasonable size, clean and comfortable with plenty of storage for our clothes and luggage. Our cabin steward, as usual, provided excellent service. The Atlantic crossing was so smooth you really didn't know you were moving. We enjoyed the cruise but feel some things are definitely slipping even in the twelve months since our previous cruise on the Constellation from Singapore to Rome. Some of the main issues were firstly food, especially in the Main Dining Room at night. Choice has become more and more limited and the quality has definitely got worse. On a number of nights I found myself ordering the salmon as there was really nothing else that appealed to me. We went to Qsine one night and whilst it was a fun one-off thing to do you certainly wouldn't keep going back there for the food, it just wasn't that good. Another issue in relation to the MDR was that about 3-4 days into the cruise a few men started wearing shorts to dinner and one night one of them turned up in a singlet top and shorts and was allowed in to dinner. I complained about this (as did a number of other passengers) and didn't see it happen again. There were a few guest speakers on board but they were always scheduled for 9.00 and 10.00 in the morning with the rest of the day given over to sales pitch type of presentations. On the first leg there was a Meet & Greet for Cruise Critic members and this was well attended. On the second leg, however, because there were only a couple of sea days, Celebrity held it on the first night at 7.45 pm. I realise it was a bad time for many people but it was rather embarrassing when only eight Cruise Critic members turned up to be greeted by ten Officers and crew. Over 50 people had signed up for this and it was very bad form that so few actually turned up. We had a booking for a Specialty Restaurant at 8.30 but still managed to attend the M&G for half an hour and I'm sure others could have done the same. Overall, we enjoyed the cruise and would definitely sail with Celebrity again as it is still one of our favourite cruise lines. I only hope they don't let their standards slip further. Read Less

We have sailed Celebrity a lot and this is one of their poorer efforts. Even when we sailed Infinity a couple of years ago, it was better. The sad thing is that I don’t think they realize how their niggling little economies and deteriorating customer service are taking the Celebrity experience from “Celebrity” to “No name.” Embarkation was sub par at 45 minutes. These things can happen. What I will complain about is the usual chaos once on board. Why does every sailing start off like the crew has never done this before? It seems to be the standard in the industry and I think I have figured out why. The reason you never get assigned to the right dinner seating time and size of table, and why the bed configuration is usually wrong, is that they don’t even look at your requests, just sign you up for whatever is handy and you can change it if you want to bother. This isn’t just Celebrity, it’s every line we have sailed. If there is a line that gets these things right (and it shouldn’t be so hard) I would love to sail with them. Infinity got all of these wrong, beating the industry average in a negative way. The maître de, however, was “unable” to correct our seating on the first day. What the heck? Is nobody able to fix a simple error? So, on the second night, we showed up not knowing where our table was, though we knew the number by then, and had to wait almost twenty minutes while the girl at the deck talked on the phone and didn’t admit a single customer. We gave up in disgust and went in and found our own table. Not very professional, Infinity. There were some wonderful things about this ship. The heating and air conditioning worked perfectly which is always a nice surprise. The bed had a sheet above the duvet. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable. The steward, Esther, was excellent, as was the waiter, Charlie. There were some live plants around the upper decks, a nice touch. There were more and better choices on the tv. There was live classical music. (Also some unfortunate vocalists!) Since the nightlight is so bright, I appreciated the adjustable closer on the bathroom door. These factors would have made a big success of most cruises, but Infinity found other ways to go wrong. Though the food was generally better than average (lamb and beef consistently excellent), the menus in the MDR have gone downscale. The only lobster seen was a sad, nasty risotto on formal night. Lobster has gone from full to half a tail, to whatever sorry excuse for lobster in that risotto. A more serious economy was the discontinuation of Room service. You can still get a very limited menu of breakfast but that seems to be it. “Celebrity” passengers expect room service. The daily newspaper also is gone “to save the whales” we were superciliously informed by the front desk, though one wonders if the whales need forest habitat. The amount of paper that was subsequently wasted inviting us to “art”shows, the casino, drinks packages, etc could have made a lot of newspapers. She also said we can get the news on tv, but only American news exists on American channels and we like to keep up on Canadian news. So, alas, she was both snotty and wrong, which was the way the front desk was every time we dealt with them. When asked when we would actually arrive in Madeira, when land was still not in sight a half hour before the scheduled landing, we were icily told that it would be at ten, “as scheduled” as if we couldn’t read. Needless to say, we were well over an hour late. Why not just answer the question pleasantly and honestly? Later when we asked about “changing” the tipping distribution, we were told it “couldn’t be done” even when I showed her the item in the “Today” reminding passengers to do just that. She couldn’t think of any way to achieve it so we ended up cancelling all tips and paying the same amount out in cash to those we wanted to thank. We had to suggest it ourselves, it wasn’t going to occur to her, but she was the only one who wasn’t rude, so I cut her some slack. Another silly way they got it wrong was by not just not giving us “the time of day” (clocks were rarely seen and one on walking deck has been wrong since we sailed her years ago) but weather forecasts no longer appear on tv or Today programme. This would be very useful. We thought that the little flyers on the dining room tables advertising drinks packages were not classy at all. I don’t eat with a lot of scrap paper on my kitchen table, why should it be on my dining room table on board? Wine stewards will never believe that we do not drink, ever, and treat it as a joke, or possibly cheapness or stupidity, which is tiresome. We were also annoyed by “robo calls” from the casino. When we called to ask that they stop (we had just gone to bed; and nearly had heart attacks because family is instructed not to call unless it’s an emergency) the front desk claimed to be astonished that vacationers might not want phone solicitors offering them free chips in the casino, or whatever it was. To be fair, the calls did stop at that point, but my goodness! Elite status is worth less and less. The breakfast is now a “coffee”. It still serves alcoholic drinks, which may do for most people, but I like food, solid food, in the mornings. The internet is a joke. They sidestep complaints about the poor service by only offering all day packages to everyone but elite, who get 90 minutes free. This means that you often cannot get on at all, but then you must sign off, wasting 15 or 20 of your minutes as they charge you for all of the time you ar trying to get on or off. By the way, your password must be six or more characters long, though you will never see the tiny instruction to that effect on a phone screen, or even an iPad. As a diabetic, I confess I did worry about the supposedly gluten free AND sugar free offerings as they looked and tasted identical to the regular ones. I eventually noticed that sometimes there was tiny print in the corner of the labels saying which of the two an item was. Supposedly they subscribe to a program called Dine Aware, but I couldn’t see much about it on the net. I would suggest that diabetics do more research before booking. There are nice new doors onto the walking deck, but they stick and can be hard to open even with no wind, and our balcony door would not slide in the tracks and had to be dragged. Presumably these things will be addressed when it goes into drydock shortly. What they need to put into dry dock would be the higher level staff. If they had the skills and work ethic of the stewards and waiters (and if there was a walk around deck), I wouldn’t be wondering if I ever want to bother with Celebrity again. Read Less

This was our first trans Atlantic. We had 7 sea days in a row. We lost one hour every night due to the time change. The good part was we had 7 days of the calmest water ever and sunshine every day. The bad part was that there was nothing offered that didn't include a sales pitch during the day unless it was trivia or bean bag tossing. After the 2nd day at sea we were flat out bored. We also noticed the lost hours and were more tired. We liked the sit down breakfast in the mornings and the service and food were great. Lunch got very repetitive and half the space was either Chinese or Curried dishes. When they did offer chicken or beef or pork, it was so dry that it was hard to chew. Salads were always fresh. Pizza was also good. Dinner at night went from excellent pork chops and pork tenderloins to terrible brown stuff they called steak. There was NO LOBSTER dinner. Sometimes, we just ate salad and appetizers. Desserts were some kind of jello and cake mixture. The crème brulee was good. The food and bar service was quite good after we found our favorite bar staff and favorite waiters. The room steward (Made) was very helpful and always smiling. Several of the dining crew seemed bored with their jobs and were talking among themselves instead of talking with passengers. We did not see the officers mingling with any passengers. At the Cruise Critic gathering - they lined up and were introduced - and promptly LEFT! It lasted 5 minutes! How poor! Fortunately, there were 2 people on board that were willing to step up and give a lecture about the lives of the US presidents and their wives. A BIG THANK YOU to Bill and Sue Wills! They did several lectures but they were not sponsored by the ship and you had to know about them from Cruise Critic in order to get the time and place. The production shows were very good. The comedians were actually funny. Some of the singers were screamers so we left. The ship is older and showing her age. Everything was clean, but our shower had some rust and the balcony door shimmied if it was windy and they had to shut off the water twice during port days to fix plumbing things. One of the minor annoyances was the lack of a drawer under the desk, and a lack of shelf space. There were 5 drawers and that would have been plenty for 7 days, but for 14 days - it was not enough. Ports were less than exciting. Madeira, Cadiz, Alicante and Malaga all looked alike. I guess we should have expected that, but after you see 2 or 3 forts/castles - we were done. Read Less

It seems much has changed since my last voyage on Celebrity. I’ve probably done a half dozen or more voyages with X over the years, and along with HAL considered it my favorite line. By way of background, I always travel in suites, so have the array of added benefits that this class of passage affords. First, the positives: - The WiFi has become far more affordable, and far faster. - The ship itself, despite many contrary reviews, seems well maintained - The staff remains friendly, helpful, and efficient. The negatives: - The food. Far below prior experiences. Quality of items in the buffet seems more like that I’ve had on Norwegian or Royal C, A long way from what I had come to expect from X. Even the cuisine in Luminae (the restaurant reserved for suite guests) is less than inspiring - some very good, some not so good. - The entertainment in the main showroom, with an exception or two, was way below expectation. - The activities do not seem to be evolving with the times. Granted, this cruise has an older demographic, but the range of activities continues much as cruising was 20 years ago. And I still don’t care for Bingo, art auctions, diamond sales, or karaoke. Reading the reviews about the Infinity made me a little concerned about the age of the ship being we were doing a transatlantic trip 8 days at sea and ending up in Portugal and Spain.I cannot understand how some people can complain about this ship. The trip over seas was exceptional the ride smooth and the staff wonderful. I cannot begin to say how wonderful the experience was. I think if your looking for problems you could find problems on any ship but if you go to enjoy yourself and the company your with then you can enjoy whatever ship you are on. Our room was spotless and our room stewart, Sergio, was the best, always willing to do anything we wanted and always doing it with a smile. We have done many cruises and we don't go on ships looking for things to complain about, but look for the good things..Our day consisted of Sergio greeting us in the morning then we would go up to the 10th floor for the breakfast buffet or down to 4th for a sit down breakfast. Each day we would play cards or join what ever activity offered for entertainment for the day. Lunch was always at the buffet which they had plenty to god food to offer for any appetite you felt like having. Then onto dinner WOW we never had a bad meal all 14 days. Marteo and Mart were great waiters on the 5th floor. My husband loves to eat and whatever he wanted it was given to him with a smile. Then onto the entertainment at night, the shows were outstanding we went to all of them. Then onto the casino which I have to say I won and came home with money..overall if your hellbent on finding problems you will, but really try hard to enjoy a wonderful trip on a great ship the infinity still has a lot of life in her even though she is old..we love it from beginning to the end , fantastic. The excursions were not the best..we had six stops and I would say out of six we four that were halfway desent..Hop on Hop off buses were not so good. Read Less

We have sailed Celebrity many times as well as other lines. Embarkation- SLOW. Priority included so many, plus AQ etc. There were over 900 Elites and above on this sailing. So everyone had priority. Took about 45 min. Stateroom 1141 - AFT facing the wake on 11. Overlooks the sunset bar. (1 of 5) Oversized balcony is lovely. Under the overhang you cannot be seen from below or above. Once you step fwd--those on deck 12 can see you..and of course those eating downstairs/at the bar. View is outstanding. As an AQ cabin it still has the body jets/shower tower. Do not know if that will disappear during the revolution. Storage is a problem in the cabin. In the bathroom (as this is an old M class ship) there is no tower of shelving like S class. Nor is there the over the bed storage like S class. Stateroom NOISE was terrible. A daily problem with the movie tracks from the deck 12 venue. We and those on the cabins on either side of us regularly had to call GS to have them turn down the volume. There was also the issue of a female singer who thought herself on stage" as opposed to background vocals. Her "midi" which provides the thump thump was so loud that if she was performing (1pm/3pm/5pm daily) and a movie was running above (Jurrasic Park for example) then we couldn't hear eachother speaking. We were driven in and off our balcony on every sea day because of the noise. Stateroom Location-- easy to reach Blu via the back elevators. Easy to drop downstairs 1 floor for breakfast. Another problem besides noise is that people use the stairs/cut through to mid ship and often don't close the hall doors...or the air flow slams them shut. BLU Outstanding service apart from a terrible wine steward. The Maitre D runs a great restaurant and the servers are on top of their game. The wine steward was arrogant and ill prepared. He was also rude and offensive when we didn't attend his (FEE based) wine pairing. We had to get the Maitre D and head Wine Mgr involved. BLU food--often very good. Several times we did order parts of the meal off MDR menu. Easily done because being M class ship and kitchen/s dining room location. BLU staff does an excellent job to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated. We much prefer the smaller venue. Wine Cellar-- slow poor service... often very overwhelmed as this bar gets tapped for the dining rooms as well. Its a pass through. It was often empty--and still poor service Martini Bar-- Busy. Great service. Nice location and view. Entertainment- Several bands/groups were excellent. This is sailing dependent. The shows are corporate and run for a couple years a piece. Ocean View. Service and food always good. It is a BUFFET so it is just fine and never "excellent". Plenty of choices. Having the ice cream bar on one side and the small Al Bacio on the other to order specialty coffees is handy. Al Bacio-- always a pleasure. We did think some of the desserts were lacking compared to other sailings. Not sure how this happens when the menu is corporate. Ship overall is showing wear and tear. And layout/design shows its age...(M class) as ship designs have varied over the years. Noted wear on upholstery in the theater, stairwells etc. That said it was nothing that was outrageously egregious. PAX On this sailing the avg age was OLD Older and Oldest. Generally very old. We did see a couple of families with young children. (VERY well behaved) Silent Disco--super popular and heavily attended. Stage shows--packed and well received. Bridge/Games in Blu-- packed (many sea days on this sailing) Gym and Spa- the gym was often packed and sometimes people were just sitting on equipment... "stretching"... Used the PG once. Have to say that we wondered about how clean the tile is--with people sitting on it without towels. Spa staff was not overly helpful and they were pushy for sales which is a bummer. Enrichment--Behind the Podium. Excellent speaker -a MD who combined history and medicine--looking at interesting world events. The other speaker's background and subject matter was of no interest to us...and we never attended hers. Captains Club events. Several nice events over the course of 2 weeks including cocktail event, tours etc. One bummer was a "wine tasting" event. according to the Head Wine Mrg..60 RSVPd and more than 120 showed up. IMHO they should have only taken in those that RSVPd. To at the last minute set up for that many more--and with no verification of who they were/if they had RSVPd etc..it made the event for everyone far less appealing. Ports of Call-- Madeira, Lisbon, Cadiz (Seville), Malaga, Alicante, Barcelona. We did private excursions in Madeira and Lisbon. We did DIY in Malaga. Then a private bicycle tour in Alicante and then in Barcelona we had a tour with transfer to our hotel. We stayed in Barc for 3 days post cruise .Cadiz-Seville: Did a ship tour in Cadiz (Seville) that was an absolute disaster. It was supposed to be a "small group" tour. What made the day go so poorly was in large part to the very very very bad way Celebrity disembarked people for the tours. There were MANY who needed mobility assistance and then 100s trying to get to their tours/buses. We didn't actually get to our "small group" bus for 90 min PAST the time we were to leave for Seville. It was so bad that Celebrity made amends by discounting back a portion of the fees. Debarkation- super super simple. We believe got misinformation telling us that we (doing self assist) MUST get off the ship super super super early. We did. No lines. However we then had to sit outside waiting for our tour for almost 2 hrs. Given the way the traffic (pax etc) came out off the ship over the course of those 2 hrs.. I think we could have easily walked off with our small carry on/roller bags with no problems. Read Less

On our last cruise we experienced a further deterioration on value on Celebrity cruises. Since last September, our last cruise on the same ship, beverage packages allowances have been altered drastically. With the standard liquor package no more cappuccinos and fresh juices are allowed. The beer selections has also been cut. In the Dining Room the food was up and down. Often we had cold food and the service staff had to many tables. They tried their hardest but the waits between curses were very long. Portion size of the meals are all over the place, some to large some to small. No more lobster nights on Celebrity cruises. Entertainment was mediocre and not enough on the see days, In the passed much more was offered, For what we paid it was a let down. Value has decreased dramatically. Celebrity is, or maybe was or preferred line. It's time to give the others a try. Read Less

We picked this cruise as we had never been on a transatlantic cruise. The price was terrific. And we loved the itinerary. The crossing was very smooth, except for one day in between Madeira and Lisbon. When I say smooth, the ocean was like glass. This was terrific for us to do some sunbathing. There wasn’t a problem finding a deck chair ever. Infinity is an older ship, due to be refurbished. However it was clean. The cabin was a little tight, but probably no more than others we had been on. It did have the shower curtain rather than the door, but this wasn’t a problem. Dining was fine. We ate dinner mostly in the main dining room, except we did do the QSine experience, which was unique. We also ate once in the OceanView Cafe, because we just didn’t want to get dressed up and we were tired. The Ocean View Cafe we had great breakfasts and lunches, and the Pool Grill had great burgers. One thing I noted was there was only one place to get the ice cream in the Ocean View Cafe, and their was always a long line. Sometimes the soft serve machine is self serve, but it was also back behind the counter. Consequently plan on 15 minutes or so to get a cone. We only attended a couple of the shows. We very much enjoyed the classical group that played in varying places. I wish they would have scheduled the educational lectures a little later than 9 am. However the main asset of Infinity is its crew. Without fail, each member was smiling and helpful. The first evening in the lobby, we had a little trouble figuring out how to connect to the WiFi. The Hotel Director Vedran Jelavic was one of the crew that was circulating and was able to help us. I was very impressed that he took the time. Also we loved the bar staff at Cafe Al Bacio, Viktoria, Anca and Melissa were our bar waitresses and Elissa is an amazing bartender. My husband had hurt his hip (we later found out he has arthritis) but he had a lot of pain. Marny in the spa helped him with massages, and she suggested Acupuncture which also helped. Read Less

Folks have already written about different aspects of this 14 night cruise so I want to highlight just two- the very FUN Activities team headed by Brittany (sp? I hope right), and the wide variety of live entertainment My wife, Sue, and I are PARTICIPATORS; we dance, we play every trivia, attend every game and contest and see every single live entertainment that is offered. Heck, we want to get the most for our money. We both felt this activity team was one of if not the best we have come across. Brittany, Shirly, Ari, Chico( if I forgot to mention someone, I apologize) made simple trivias, silly contests and karaokes seem like entertainment events. I saw Ari take a simple Jenga contest between the crew and cruisers and turn it into what seemed like the most fun Olympic event of earth. Seriously the warmth and fun emanating from them could be felt--and we spent a LOT of time with them, especially Brittany and Shirly. Carlos was a great leader for the group. Live entertainment abounded (although there was no piano bar, darn)...two dance bands, a guitar and singer duo, solo guitariest, string duo, special gigs by the orchestra, and even a cruiser choir, which took a lot of time and committment from not only the cruisers, but the production show musical director. Thirteen live acts at night-comedy, magic, a mouth dropping arial act, solo entertainers, three production shows - the iBroadway which we saw twice. Plus there were five afternoon live shows. Sure we liked some less than others, but we were willing to experience them. I will add that we enjoyed the buffet better than the dining room. Of course my wife was disappointed with the small lobster dish in the main dining room (heck on our next ship we had NONE), but I had a very delicious beef Wellingon. Finally this will be a cruise we will remember as we are the couple mentioned by TXrangegal in an earlier review who made the presentations of US Presidents and their wives to our group of history buffs, I guess you could say. The cooperation we got from the staff was outstanding and we could not have done it without the event manager working hard for us. LOVED the many sea days and hope to save enough money for an even longer trip with more days at sea. Met so many fun people playing the trivias and contests, whom, although we will never cross paths again, this moment of brief intersection will always be remembered. Read Less

I chose this cruise as my first Transatlantic crossing and first time on Celebrity. I've been on 59 other cruises, so I consider myself well versed and know what I'm looking for in a cruise. It's easier to list my LIKES and DISLIKES rather than ramble on so here it is: LIKES 1) Small ship.2000 passengers 2) Friendly working staff members 3) Nightlight in bathroom 4) No towel animals DISLIKES 1) Poor embarkation. One big mass of slow moving passenger lines with few employees checking in. Most talking or on the phone. 2) Inadequate public bathrooms. One urinal on average is not enough with an older crowd. Many bathrooms dirty and not working. 3) Two broken ice machines in cafe for the entire 14-day cruise. 4) Poorest quality of entertainment I've ever seen. 5) Segregated dining and lounges for select guests only. 6) Not one good movie offered at outside theater. Most old people not into animation, violence. Try oldies and musicals. 7) Smallest portions on entrees I've ever seen. I counted eight rigatoni pasta on my dish. 8) No orange or grapefruit juice at breakfast buffet unless you were willing to pay $3.50 until last 2 days when it was free. 9) No Christian service on Sundays but a Jewish service each Friday. 10) Don't be first in line for breakfast or lunch buffet. Everything is fresh from the fridge and cold. 11) Smallest, thinnest washcloths and towels I've ever seen in a suite. 12) Poorly written Daily paper. Mistakes prevalent each day. No mention of weather predictions. 13) Poor handling of shore excursions. Everyone had to go through the entire Celebrity Theater, up onto the stage to get stickers for buses. Tickets should have been given out in the theater hallways after a tour number has been called. 14) Not one tour bus offered a restroom. 15) Excursions returning after 2:30 PM found the buffet was closed. 16) Who in their right mind would pay $25 each for a photo? 17) Unfriendly officers. Not one ever spoke to us or smiled. Hardly ever seen. 18) No final bill delivered to stateroom on last day of cruise. 19) Only one announcement per day at 9:45 AM by a captain we couldn't hear or understand. 20) Few if any daily activities for seven sea days. The cons: We chose this cruise because I read that there aren't many children on this cruise, however, there were about 40% whining, screaming kids. Also the caliber of passengers was shocking -- i.e. women dressed like strippers at breakfast, etc. Other things I did not like were: most of the activities were based on sales pitches, i.e. selling diamonds, whiskey, wine, etc. Nothing that interested us. There was nothing, not even a colored egg or candy, for Easter. The chairs were always taken in the solarium -- people put towels on them and went elsewhere. The music in the buffet was loud and wailing -- not appropriate. The buffet opened at 12pm and 6pm, which I think is too late. The clam chowder had NOTHING in it but the broth -- not one clam or potato, etc. The crew served dessert at the buffet as if people weren't trusted to do it themselves. Also catsup was squirted on plates in the dining room -- again no trust. We had a concierge cabin and the hors d'oeuvres they delivered in the afternoon were a JOKE -- 4 pieces -- no bigger than a dime each. I ordered a scotch and water with a twist at the Oceanview Bar and it was served in a tall glass with a wedge of lemon. The excursion in Nassau was 3 hours, beginning at 11am, yet there was no provision for lunch. And restrooms were scarce. The worst part was it was at least a mile to walk to the bus from the ship. The pros: The concierge was very helpful, we loved the veranda, the cruise was so smooth it didn't seem like we were moving, the crew were all very nice and the dining room was spectacular. The escargot was outstanding and the hamburger at the pool grill was also very good. Read Less

Staff all excellent. Food in restaurants excellent. Enjoyed the speciality restaurants. Haven’t been on Celebrity for a while as we prefer smaller ships. As this was a sort cruise at Easter there were a lot of families on board. They all looked like they were having a great time, especially when the Easter Bunny made an appearance. Our only disappointment was that the times for our dinner reservations (8pm) for the speciality restaurants clashed with the evening shows and special events organized for the guests in the Suites. I would recommend you choose early (6pm) or late (9pm) dinner times if you want to see the shows. Our Suite (6130) was fine although the bathroom while functional, really needs a refit. The Michael’s concierge lounge for suite guests is very nice. It certainly provided a quiet refuge from all the young families on board. They also have a nice selection of complimentary drinks. In fact the whole suite experience is well worth the extra cost. Read Less

No room service menu in cabin, broken phome in cabin, incomplete room service orders. Cabins attendant did not ntroduced herself, we finally saw her at the end of the second night by coinsidence. Not enough life jackets in cabin for the amount of passagers and the front desk REFUSED TO PROVIDE THE MISSIMG ONES (no joke). The food quality in the main dinning room was so poor that we went there just one night. The buffet food was fresh and the dinning area was clean but the food had no flavor. Why? The ingredients and the cooking personnel was there so what was the issue? Who knows. Hot items were cold and cold items were warm. Onboard stores did not engage with passagers interested in purchasing high ticket items. It appeared to me that the employees were there more to protect the merchadise from theft than to assist customers in a sale. Only one comedian and he was bad, no magicians, no ice carving, no cooking demonstration...NOTHING. One night show was terminated early due to technical difficulties and they did not offered to resume/finish the show at some point (ups!!, could not finish the show, sorry about your luck!!). Debarkation: somehow some passagers were able to leave the ship early, according to Celebrity, based on their return flight. Interesting because that was not mention in ther website, their daily newspaper or TV., tHE daily newspaper indicated to watch a debarkation video on the cabin TV but the video was never made available. The final statement of all expenses was never provided or offered, so I guess that you were forced to do the line at the front desk if you really wanted one. If this line cannot do the basic things right in a smaller/older ship, I can't imagine the spectacle in their newer/much bigger ships. Celebrity again? No thanks. Read Less

Picked this cruise because I could only leave for 2 nights and i was within driving distance of the boat. Wasnt interested in Nausau, therefore the boat was what i wanted to check out. I knew it was going to be worn and i knew it was sold out. It ended up being a drunken booze fest with no one interested in looking decent. Didnt know before this how many people you could fit into a hot tub with cocktail in hand. Makes you wonder when you watch for awhile, when someone gets out to use the bathroom. Didnt seem like it. Very low end. Comedian was pretty good and not raunchy. Show with crew was ok. Food was better than those who went on Carnival, but nothing special. Crew was pleasant but tired Sailing was smooth The wear on the ship wasnt as bad as expected but does need a refresher. Hate to judge Celebrity by this cruise but I think I am more of a Silverseas gal Read Less

I choose this sailing just for a quick getaway with my hubby. This was my second time on this ship and the first for my husband. We were very surprised with the new terminal in Ft. Lauderdale very very nice and modern. The lunch options were good you have your pizza station, grill station in the back for meats, pasta station, other options and then salad. We decided not to go to the main dining room for dinner since it was such a short cruise and we just wanted to relax and not have to worry about getting all dressed up by a certain time and be rushed. The dinner wasn't the best in the buffet. The options were very limited and on some things I was a little disappointed but not a big deal. I guess I was okay with salads chicken and pizza. Of course in the main dining you have better options. The cakes on display were absolutely beautiful in the buffet. Unfortunately those were on display only. They do have a no sugar added section for deserts and you have several options which were not bad. I was very disappointed with the coffee shop because the deserts were always complimentary regardless if you need to purchase a drink or not. I was on this ship in November and it was free and now it's not. The breakfast at the Trellis was really good. The breakfast in the buffet was the usual stuff and as always the omelet station was super packed. We were very pleased with our inside cabin. Normally it would a real tiny cabin where we would easily run out of space but this cabin was really big and we got a corner cabin so it was even bigger. We loved it. Housekeeping was great they always do a great job, however my pillows did have boot marks on them and I couldn't find the attendant so we had to wait for the next day to get that changed. Also there was a very horrible smell throughout the lower decks of the ship which is always tough to breath that in. We loved our time in the solarium it's just so relaxing in there and that pool was so great. Loved that not too many people went in at night. The comedian was great we got to see him twice and he was great, original and kept it real the whole time. Love the fact that the casino is smoke free verses other cruise lines. This ship is not for bigger kids or teens. The camp on board is really for babies. The only thing that teens and bigger kids can do is play basketball and go in the pool. The camp that they do have for the older kids is extremely tiny so the kids actually don't even want to bother going there. The arcade is a joke. There's about 4 games that are from the 70's. This ship does not cater to kids it definitely caters to a much older crowd. All in all it was a great experience. I look forward to going back on with Celebrity on the OTHER ships and won't go back on the Infinity unless it gets revamped like the Summit is. Read Less

We wanted a quick little get away, we love to cruise and have been for many years. We took a 7 day Celebrity cruise about six years ago and thought it was wonderful. We hoped this would be the same due to the companies reputation but could not be more disappointed. We took an Aqua Class Stateroom with balcony which was small and cramped especially the bathroom, whenever you took a shower the whole bath floor got wet! The ship was allegedly updated not long ago, don't know what they updated but they probably need to go back to the drawing board. The a/c barely kept our room comfortable, the TV didn't work most of the time, the water coming out of our of the faucet and shower was dark rust colored at times! We tried to get a glass of wine at one of the bars, the bartender moved toward us, told my wife to have a nice day and then left! What great service! With a Classic drink package and trip insurance this was a $1,200.00 two night cruise. Not cheap at all for a small cramped room, lousy service and rust colored water. We could have gone on a three night with another Cruise line for nearly 1/2 that price! Again we went with Celebrity for their reputation. We also were constantly being solicited to try one of the private, pay for what you eat on board restaurants. We didn't come on the cruise to be constantly solicited, we came to relax. The only saving grace on this cruise was having the Aqua Class private dining room. We did have a great ocean view, the food was great and our waiter Hendar was fantastic! If not for the private restaurant and great staff this would have been a total loss. For me the bottom line is save your money, go on a different cruise line or just stay home. You will be much happier, we wish we never went. Celebrity has lost our business. We will be on a competitor from now on. Read Less

We have sailed many times with Celebrity on the Solstice class and always have a great experience. Unfortunately, Infinity did not live up to the usual level of service on our short weekend sail to the Bahamas. It is really a loss for the guests and for Celebrity. As past guests, we were excited to see this short itinerary of two nights out of Ft. Lauderdale. We hoped it could be something we could do often. We also met a number of guests who were trying out Celebrity for the first time hoping to find a new line they could call their own. The crew on Infinity let all of us down. As past guests, we won't be back on Infinity or for a short cruise. We were embarrassed for Celebrity for all the first time guests. One couple said they were headed back to Carnival for better service! The ship is older and smaller than the bigger sister ships like Reflection, Solstice, Silhouette, and Equinox - we have happily been on all of them. The size and age does not excuse some of poor cleanliness in areas like the coffee shop. It also certainly does not excuse the inattentive service of the dining room staff, the store staff, bartenders and other crew. There was no effort to talk to guests beyond the absolute minimum to get in an order or a sale. The crew was not engaged with guests even to the point of gathering among themselves to chat and block areas in the buffet. We went up to the silent disco and again, crew were chatting with each other and no one was talking to guests. We never saw the Captain or any of the Officers interacting with guests. The two days felt like time out at sea so the port charges could be avoided in between two longer cruises. It felt like the fact that guests were on board was an annoyance to the crew. The crew was busy recovering from the prior cruise and getting ready for the next sailing. It felt like we were bothering them to ask for a drink or even try to get a price on merchandise in the stores. We did enjoy the entertainment in the theater - both the comedian and the singers and dancers were great. The pool side entertainers were also very good and we enjoyed the string duo in the afternoons. The food was OK and about as good as other Celebrity ships, we just were exasperated with the slow service in the main dining room. We were also aggravated that the Classic drink package was not offered. You could only buy the Premium packages. The reason given was it was only a two night cruise so they couldn't offer the lower priced packages. Makes absolutely no sense. We did not feel that this was a good value for us and I am sure Celebrity lost out on sales that would have otherwise occurred had the full slate of drink packages been offered. We were also frequently solicited for the premium dining and spa, just about as bad as the street sales people in port. We also tried the Concierge stateroom for the first time. Thankfully, it was a very low amount to have this because it is totally not worth any extra. We were offered free champagne twice but never received it. Would never pay for it again. We will be back on the S-Class ships but will be avoiding the M-Class ships in the future, especially Infinity. Read Less

I read reviews and the ones I read before sailing were pretty critical of the ship and food, so here is my opinion on the ship I recently sailed on. Yes, the ship’s interior stateroom I had, 6011, could have used new bedding, curtains and furniture, but I found it to be very clean, with very fresh sheets. The lighting in the rooms could also be updated and I did not find a plug in the bathroom. I found the food to be very good, for what they serve. Their wait staff is professional and very courteous and work very hard. If I had to make one comment in general: the workers and staff are highly trained and very diligent performing their jobs. They all spoke and were courteous. Management was in evidence in every nook and cranny. Managers were conversing with the servers and overseeing their areas constantly. If you had needed something a mangager was never far away. I said “no frills” because it’s mainly, eat, sleep, and sail. Not a lot going on onboard the ship, but it was pleasant because Celebrity is making sure the basics are being covered in service and food. I would go on Celebrity again, maybe on a different route. After all Key West and Nassau are a little tired out themselves after thousands of cruisers are dumped on their shores daily. Read Less

We took the 4 day cruise from Fort Lauderdale to key West/Nassau. The people were very nice, the food was good and plentiful and the ship was clean. We were looking to chill out for a few days, so we didn't take any shore excursions or see any shows on the ship - we didn't even eat at any of the specialty restaurants. We had a balcony room on Deck 6 and it was nice. Our room steward,Irwin, was the best, very accommodating. The room was large enough for us and the balcony waas nice sized. There are plenty of bars to choose from - 4 at the pool area alone. The service was good and fast. We didn't buy the drink package, so our beer and mixed drinks were 7-$10 each. We don't drink enough to make the drink package worth while. The only thing worth mentioning is that the ship needs an update. It looks like it came out of the 80's - but it didn't affect anything - the service and accommodations were good. Read Less

While this short cruise was very good there were some iratiants that could be easily fixed: First, the music was to loud.I fail to understand why management feels that music has to be loud ,especially when the majority of passengers are seniors. Secondly, there were only 2 gameshows.I have never been on a cruise with so few. Thirdly, while I have rated most everything as very good to excellent, the two above items were of sufficient annoyance that I would not sail on Infinity again. Fourthly, my 10 year old granddaughter was unable to use the kids pool due to the fact it was always occupied by adults ,who always had a drink in their hands. Overall,I though that the two performances put on by the ships company were the best I have seen on any cruise. Also the food served in the Oceanview buffet area was was varied and always good and there were always plenty of seats to be found. Everything was great except for the rain on a sea day. Well almost everything. It is a matter of opinion. Wish we didn’t attend the game show that had 3 couples competing and revealing their secrets, etc. One couple were just very pushy and obnoxious. It consisted of two females and you could see them discussing their responses before their turn. They also seemed to push the life style they had. Glad the longest married couple won. There were a large group from a Canadian Comany that chartered a portion for their top performers, about 550. This resulted in all the announcements also in French. Other than that they helped make ship rather empty. It was as if 550 guests weren’t aboard. Ship still looks great for being around 19 years in service. We would book again but the prices for us are getting beyond our VW budget and Bentley style of cruising We went thru customs in Key West as it was our last port other than Ft Lauderdale. It went very fast. In Fort Lauderdale we were off ship and in our car by 8:00. It was just a get your luggage and walk thru the custom booths. Don’t worry about booking if the time and price is right. The ending is sad because we had to leave. Read Less

The food in the main dining room was outstanding! Our cabin was a family suite. With a large veranda and was very clean and comfortable. However the ship lacked entertainment. Not much to keep you interested during the day if you were not a drinker. Solarium and pool area were extremely crowded and not enough chairs. The buffet was decent but it was laid out in not such a good way that by the time time you got back to your table the food was cold. We took an excursion to Chichen Itza to see the Mayan Ruins. They were awesome to see and our guide was very knowledgeable but walked so fast to to get to the bus and then to gate at The ruins that we lost him twice. Because it was such a long ride we were not able to explore the ruins or the all the wares that were being sold. So if you go you will be amazed at what these people built, you just will not be able to see them all Read Less

This was a very good cruise. The Infinity is a very nice ship, but it is a little bit tired. It is due for a major refurbishment and modernization in 2020. Our cabin was a bit dated and not as comfortable as on previous Celebrity ships. We were in Aquaclass. Previously, this has been quite elegant. However, this time there was nothing to differentiate this from a regular Balcony cabin. The couch and bed were tired and not luxuriously comfortable as they have been before in Aquaclass. Hopefully will be replaced in the refurbishment. Our neighbours (also Aquaclass) had the same experience with their bed. I have to add that our cabin steward and staff was excellent and took great care of us! We had breakfast and dinner in Blu which was fabulous! What our cabin lacked in updates, Blu more than made up for with wonderful attentive service and modern, terrific and thoughtfully prepared food. We had special dietary requirements and Celebrity took great care to ensure we were taken care of! The cafeteria had line ups for some food, which as a first for us on Celebrity. There was a great variety of food choices and this was quite good. The 5th floor Cafe was excellent and we stopped for coffee and tea each day. We did a Wine and Food pairing with Fernando from Blu. it was informative and a lot of fun! I would highly recommend it. The entertainment was very good. 2 singers joined the ship for one performance each, and 2 comedians for the same. I would rate the entertainment an 8 out of 10. The service was amazing - true Celebrity style. Their staff is wonderful, considerate and caring. We saw staff that we had met on previous boats who had been promoted. It was delightful to see good service rewarded. We have booked 2 more Celebrity cruises because we love Celebrity! I think once there are some updates made, the Infinity will once again be restore to true Celebrity style. Read Less

Overall, we enjoyed our cruise. The ship was nice, we liked that it was not a mega ship. We had great food and service. The passengers tend to be more mature and I think better ships if you have a young family or teens that like to be active. We loved being in Aqua class and having access to the restaurant BLU. It had great service and a unique menu. It is a great cruise if you do not want to feel crowded and relax. We never had trouble getting seating in any venue. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The genuinely wanted to make sure we were satisfied and happy. the service in the restaurant was very attentive but we did nit feel rushed. Cabin steward did a great job and assured our special requests were met. The ship was clean and in good shape, except for the Persian gardens (mentioned above). Our room was clean and in good working order. Being a smaller ship, it was easy to navigate and get to all areas easily. Lot's of different lounges to sit and relax. We never had an issue finding seating in any area (except pool deck on sea days). There was a nice variety of music in the various lounges throughout the day and evening. Fit the fitness center had state of the art equipment that was in great shape. I was disappointing. The condition of the Persian Gardens spa area was not great, it definitely needs to be updated. It felt dingy and a some the features did not work. Also some of the controls were in disrepair. The pool area was enjoyable and we did not have a problem getting chairs in the sun. Shade chairs were taken up early on sea days and many were empty but had things on them to reserve but were unattended for long periods of time. We had breakfast and dinner in Blu. The food was very good as well as the variety. If we wanted we could have ordered from the main dining room menu as well. The service was excellent and we did not feel rushed like we have with other cruises. We were able to sit and relax after dinner. We never had to wait for a table, one was ready without any reservations. The buffet was clean with a nice variety of food. The production shows were fantastic!! The voices were Broadway quality and very entertaining. The comics were fun both the family friendly and adult shows. The other acts kept us engaged. Read Less
