We just got back from a 5 day cruise on the Enchantment. It was my husband and I with our 2 kids (9 and 11). We had an overall fun trip. We have cruised a lot in the past but this was our first time with RC. The ship had great customer service. It was clean and well maintained. The buffet was very overcrowded, My kids got run over, we had trouble getting to the food and finding a table. The buffet food was average with little variety. The main dining food was outstanding with a large variety. We had the best waiters we have ever had on a cruise before (Sanjay and Miroslav, table 79). We booked the Galley tour at a discount after boarding. The tour was fun and the bottomless mimosas were nice. The theater shows were entertaining and kids really enjoyed. We usually love going to art auctions but skipped the one on this ship. The auction was kicked out of their normal room and moved to narrow spot by a major walkway with limited seating. The casino was tiny and I have never lost my money quicker. My kids loved the rock climbing/trampoline and there was never a line. They also liked the kids club. Just be aware, the kids club filled up and I did see them turning away kids multiple times. The ship had 3 pools of which we were hardly able to use. The adults only pool was in a very hot enclosed area. The main pool was either too crowded or used for pool games. The kids pool was closed and drained often bc babies kept pooping in it. Our room was 8089, an upgraded ocean view with floor to ceiling windows. It was centrally located close to everything. Our Steward did a great job keeping the room clean and restocked with plush/soft/clean towels. The cabin felt spacious for a cruise ship. The main queen bed was 2 mismatched mattresses pushed together and my husband kept rolling into the middle crack. A sewage smell was coming from the bath floor drains the entire trip. Our bedding smelled like sewage. We complained and they quickly changed out the bedding. The manager came to apologize. The room was noisy. We had noise from the pool deck above, music blasting from the centrum at all hours, and a crying baby next door. We loved Costa Maya. We exited the port through a pastry shop and took a taxi to the Crazy Lobster. The beach was not crowded and the food was good with cheap Coronas. We were able to snorkle and saw lots of fish in their enclosed swimming area. No seaweed in the water. The area around Crazy Lobster had the best prices on Souviners. We went to Mr Sanchos in Cozumel for the 2nd time. The beach and water were beautiful. We were also able to snorkle here with fish in the water. The grilled shrimp was great but took 45 minutes to get. It took several hours to get my guacamole order. The mixed drinks contained no alcohol and were too sweet. We stuck with drinking beer. The boarding was awful. We picked a boarding time of 10:30 when registering many months ago. We showed up at 10:30 but didn't get on until 1 PM. They held us in a large room for several hours. The gold, plat, emerald members were all called before us. The deboarding was also unpleasant. We were in a long line that wrapped around the whole ship. The line finally ended with us having to drag our luggage down the stairs. We overall had a pleasant family vacation but will not go on this ship again and will most likely not go on Royal Caribbean again. Read Less

My daughter and son-in-law did a Carnival Cruise for their honeymoon two years ago in October and loved it so much they wanted us to join them on a Carnival Cruise. Hurricane Darian caused us to have to leave a day early but we had already planned to arrive in Tampa that day and spend the night, so we just drove from NC as planned and boarded with absolutely no problems despite only having birth certificates and driver's licenses and my having a pacemaker. We got on board, purchased our lanyards and were told that we were going to have a free day due to having to board early and leave the area that night. It meant 2 sea days before an excursion but all drinks and food were covered by Carnival for the 1st day. We ate burgers at the grill (better than any fast food burgers) and when we went to our room, all our luggage was there. Our room had a balcony with a lifeboat just a floor below. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the shelves in the bathroom and the size of the closets were big enough to easily store our things. I am glad I brought some folding travel hangers and a glow in the dark small flashlight as well as a small plug in extra 3 regular outlets and 2 outlets to charge our cell phones, hair dryer, curling iron and camera batteries. I may purchase a larger one with more outlets before cruising again. Almost every single staff member all over the ship was pleasant and helpful and most remembered our names from the start. Jeniper and Salai our room stewards, were great and Jeniper was especially sweet. Once we had experienced Roxana from Romania as a headwaitress, we asked for her each night at the Bacchus Dining Room. She treated us like royalty and was funny and very good with names. The food was good, especially in the Bacchus. There was a bar tender we liked a lot named Jerry (may not be his spelling) who would even call out to my husband, Tom, as we walked by on our way around the ship because they had an ongoing funny Tom and Jerry routine together. I enjoyed the Marriage Comedy show a lot but not the adult comedy show at Mad Hatter's Ball done by R.T. Steckel--too crass for me. Doug who played the baby grand at Sam's Piano Bar was awesome and the disco night at Frankensteins's We loved the Pixels photo opportunities and bought a good many. Loved earning points for prizes, especially the nice photo album and the Thumb drive. My favorite shore excursions were the VIP La Casa Beach Retreat in Cozumel and the Jolly Roger Catamaran Sailing and Snorkel with Lunch at Roatan. There was plenty of time to snorkel and to eat and to shop in each of those excursions and the people working the excursions were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I ran into a little problem with my own but new full face snorkel mask and the captain of the Jolly Roger was gentle and patient and fixed me right up for my 1st snorkeling experience. The food was delicious and the guys danced with us and were very watchful of us in the water, as well as making sure we all had all to drink we wanted. Jesus at the La Casa Beach House was friendly and the pina coladas there were the best I've ever tasted--not overly sweet like most in America are. The chef made two great salsas and guacamole with chips as we watched. In Belize, we did the River Wildlife Cruise and and Mayan Ruins of Altun Ha in Belize. I loved seeing the dolphins follow the boat, seeing the Howler monkeys, and the iguanas where we had lunch. Our Mayan guide was a good story teller. At 62, I did manage to climb to the top of the Sun god's pyramid and enjoy the view, but it was a bit challenging due to the humidity and the steps being irregular and crumbly. I wish I had had more time to shop in the little row of shops with locally hand carved wood items, but it took most of our time to climb the ruin and some of our party slowed things down before we could start when we had to wait on them to join us. My only complaint about the Grand Cayman Stingray Sandbar, Hell, and Turtle Center experience was that it was rushed. Once again, we had to wait for a family that was late and so our guide had to make up for the lost time. It was fun to handle the turtles and the gift shop at the Turtle Center was a nice one. The water was beautiful where we held the stingrays and it was a fun experience. Hell was rushed but I am glad we got to see it. Disembarkation went smoothly and, although we missed our pets and the rest of our families, we were sad it was all over. We definitely want to go back to Cozumel and go on the Jolly Roger Catamaran again someday! Carnival did not disappoint! Read Less

Well due to the hurricane it was shortened to 4 nights, this was our second time on the ship and the first night I treated myself to the fire and ice pedicure which I never use spas on board due to the price but this time I did and wont again, its expensive and the atmosphere wasnt anything different then a plaza nail salon but no magazines to read, the tech was very nice but it's a sales pitch, they are constantly trying to sell their products, they give you small amounts ts to try and then tell you its 55.00 and 25.00 for gel polish if added.now the room, this was the first time we upgraded to a suite since the ship was empty we got the junior suite well after 3 hours back and forth with customer service and after 12am we actually got the room.It was on 7642 and the hallway smelled like mildew and unfortunately the room did to,now it's a much bigger room and a full size tub,big balcony and a curtain t separate the bed from the couch.the furniture definitely is worn out and we never got to experience the costal dinning because they never answered and we were told it's just dinner, the last night we were told they have a 830 opening, but we had reservations somewhere else, now theres no special anything with the suit which I was disappointed with. This cruise because of the mess from the hurricane I felt like everything was just rushed and wasnt ready for our cruise. The food for vegetarian options wasnt alot this time around, the first day I went to 3 places before I could eat something decent. The only best thing about this 4 night cruise was Giovanni's! This place is amazing and a perfect 10.the only meal that I left so happy afterwards..also a small but annoying thing was I went to the spa and had asked for a small sample of bubble bath for my daughter since we had a tub and wanted to make it nice for her well they said no but I can buy it lol..come on spa stop pushing that experience stuff on people.the family festival was lame and they were doing work on the boardwalk during it..last year we loved our 7 night cruise on allure unfortunately this one was not our favorite and being 4 nights from 7 with one stop wasn't what we hope for but it was nice having a empty ship.now also side note the pineapple was white and hard and yet they kept serving it and even in room service and for 8.00 a fee I'd expect better quality Read Less

This was our second time on the Majesty of the Seas , so we knew what to expect. What we did not expect was 2 FREE days added to the back end of our cruise, Because of hurricane Dorian 2 extra days were added to the back end of our five day cruise, I have to say the the captain was on the P A system sometimes twice a day letting us know that because of the hurricane RCCL would stay out 2 days longer than planned and there would be NO added cost to passengers and Drink packages and internet packages would also be extended at NO extra charge. The only thing I wondered was the room attendants and waitstaff would be shafted on 2 days of gratuities because of our FREE days?? The ship is small and compact with easy access to everything, There are literally No steps so mobility issues are no problem, Food was good and drinks were a bit expensive if you don't have the drink package ($17 for a Mojito at the pool bar) Shows and entertainment were typical for a cruise ship and even the extra days there were production shows and performers. Overall Nice cruise , the only downside was downtime in the cabin the TV was TERRIBLE There were almost NO movies or TV shows , Everything was taped loops and cartoons or sports that most people don't follow. Royal you really need to improve your stateroom entertainment.. Read Less

I was on the Sensation many many years ago. There was a sale I couldn't pass up. Cost for both my husband and I 377.00 with a 100.00 OBC for an inside room. I did get a call the night before because I am platinum that they had an ocean view no charge for us so I took it. I forgot about the fantasy ship purple and brass. Carnival really needs to do something when they do refurbishments they need to make more changes. The pool area was ugly. Maybe I am spoiled but I do not like the mega ships so I have cruised many times on sunshine ( my favorite ), Dream and others. I did fly down from CT I did spend money to get the ship so it wasn't that cheap when I added everything in. Our cabin was m39 and our room steward was awesome!! Our room was nice and cold and always clean. FYI no hair dryer. I forgot to bring mine. Sea days were boring. I am not into bingo , art sales etc. I spent all my time on the serenity area. Way too many kids for one small pool on the lido deck. They need more umbrella's . They only had 4 the first row and after that good luck. It was so hot we used the shower to cool off. If we went into the hot tub we went in early and sat in the shaded part. Food was the worst ever. Pizza , I would not even call it that. I loved it on the the other carnival cruises I have no clue what happened here. I had a grilled cheese at the deli and my bread wasn't even grilled. Dining room only item worth eating was the braised beef, and some of the soups. We did the buffet twice and at least we can maybe find a couple of items. The desserts were lacking at the buffet at night most were diet desserts. The water tasted like water that came out of garden hose. I was so upset not to enjoy any meals. Guys burger too much paprika on the fries and the burger was just okay. Crew staff was always smiling and I thought the ship was kept very clean . Now, the entertainment was awesome, this is what saved my trip. Deon the CD was terrific. Don't miss his trivia nights in the atrium lobby. He sings and dances and gets the crowd going. Just June the comedian was great. We went to all of her shows and the shows at the main theater were actually very good. Casino very smokey and small. Not many places to just chill inside and people watch. Just the main strip near the casino and coffee cafe. They didn't hound the people much for pictures so that was a plus. If they made some major cosmetic changes ( pool area, serenity, and upped their food I would try it again. I like the fact that it's a small ship. Read Less

We originally chose the Armonia because of how cheap the price was. I sailed with my husband and two kids and my mother in law. We had two ocean view cabins on the 8th floor. I knew going on the cruise that I shouldn’t expect too much from it just from reading previous reviews and watching videos on YouTube prior to sailing. Yet, I hate to say that even with low expectations I still wouldn’t sail on this ship again. First off, the ship is very very old and it clearly shows on the appearance of it. The lido deck floors are all chipping apart and the chairs upstairs near the pizza area and the hamburger areas were wobbly. The ship was “re-vamped” in 2011 and all I could think about is the fact that it still looked like nothing was done. The buffet area upstairs in uncomfortably tight. Even for a smaller ship and less people it felt more crowded then the ships I’ve been on with 6k+ passengers. The rooms were extremely tight and uncomfortable. I’m surprised they would even put three people in that small of a room. The bed in our room was broken and nothing was done to fix it. The ac felt like it was never on all over the ship and especially in the cabin. And the shower frame fell and hit my son. There are two pools both which were a decent size but with disgustingly warm and extremely salty water. They only had two hot tubs that were so small and only fit five people each. There was always a line to get in the hot tubs. The kids splash pad was probably one of the nicest splash pads on a ship that I have been on. My kids really enjoyed it. The food was below average in the buffet and dining room. We did really enjoy the breakfast options but lunch and dinner had barely any options other then the pizza, burgers, hot dogs, salad and fries. The five to eight options in the buffet were not good. The shows were not good except for the last night show which was the abyss which we enjoyed. There were barely any activities throughout the day so we spent our time mostly in the room or on the pool deck or eating. Overall, I knew to not expect much from this cruise but I was still disappointed. I wouldn’t go on the Armonia again. I would rather pay more and actually enjoy my cruise. Read Less

I was a little fearful about this ship after reading some of the recent reviews. But after 4 very enjoyable days, I wonder if they were on the same ship? All the employees did whatever they could to make you comfortable and happy. Our steward, Tri , was excellent, and our waiter, Nick, and his team were just wonderful. We never encountered any long lines, and both getting on and off went very smoothly. Guy’s Burgers, and the Blue Iguana were so yummy! And the Seafood Shack had excellent food for just a few dollars. All the bar people were so helpful, never had to wait for more than a couple of minutes- they were all so efficient! We had a small suite for 3 people, and with the extra big balcony, it was positively roomy, with so much storage. I know Victory won’t be around much longer, but I am so glad we took this lovely short, 4 day cruise. Read Less

We like to cruise every year my family Husband and two teenage boys. This was our 5th cruise and our second on Carnival. We flew to New Orleans and stayed at the Four Points Sharaton located in the French Quarter ( not recomemended for families as it is located on Bourbon St in the middle of the French Quarter and the Kids will not enjoy the experience. Young Adults who love to party will love it. The cruise from New Orleans was a nice change from other cruises as the first part of the cruise we were able to sit on the Balcony and watched the river it was nice to not be out to sea until well after sunset. Again on the return trip watching the lights along the river was relaxing well worth the balcony. The Embarkation was quick and pain less from the hotel check out to the Lido deck was approx. 30 minutes total. We checked out at 1055 and we were on board at the Buffett by 1130. Dining we were assigned the Upper Golden dining room First off our servers in the dinning room were excellent. Sunu, Myat and Tangkas were friendly and quite fun we enjoyed conversations and had a great time with them. The dancing during table service was fun. However, I do not like the set dining times. I tried to get My time dining and was on a wait list and had the late dining. This is my biggest complaint for Carnival. They seem to try to co-ordinate shows for the various dining times however, I feel I miss something when I have the late dinning times and there is one show. You really have to look at the Fun Times to get the best of everything. I did not have very many hot meals warm but not Hot. The meals were delicious. Soups were usually hot but not the main courses. When you are feeding 1500 people between two dining rooms at one time that can be challenging. The Sea day Brunch was well used on this particular cruise. Line ups when ever we attended. The service was slower but I didn't have to fight the crowds at the buffett. (TIP) Check the Fun Times for the days the dining room is open on Port days there are far fewer people these days in the dining room as most don't realize it is open. The Kids programs My kids were engaged and I rarely saw them one was with the Circle C group and the other was with the O2 and both were gone off to the activites and did not come looking for me what so ever. I was usually in bed before they were. They both loved the cruise. On the first day a parent needs to check them in we did not realize that you could sign them in earlier in the day, and the sign in was at 830 and our dining was at 815 in the middle of our dining time. Our kids rarely ate with us other then the one manditory dinner I make them have with me. The clubs break for dinner if you have an early dining time it works out for you, me not so much. Entertainment We were able to get to one show the Motown it was excellent I have seen this production on another ship and it was still a good show. If you like Motown you will enjoy the show. The Comedy club This seemed to be a hit. It was a packed room every night for the late show at 10:00. We made the 11:15 show once and we made the pg show with our kids at 7:00 a few times. There were four different Comedians and we saw all four they were great. The Sing along with Cassidy-Rae She will be leaving the ship in a couple weeks so If you have the chance go into the Cinn-o-bar and sing along. Cassidy-Rae will try to full fill your requests. She downloaded the song Beth by Kiss listened for a short amount of time and was able to play the song and did an awesome job. Impressive how she is able to figure out the cords and play as quickly as she did. The Art Auctions I enjoy the Art auctions it is entertaing during the day. If anything go for the Champagne. Jade the Auctioneer and his team were excellent he did try to put everyone's request up for bidding. He spent a few minutes describing different pieces and moved along quickly as possibe. He did not completly focus on one artist which was nice. I did not attend the presentations as I had seen the Peter Max and Thomas Kinkade presentations on previous cruises and I was not interested. The Team were quite attentative during a discusion Kayla had picked up that I liked a certain artist and dug deep into the vault to pull out a picture that would not normally have come out on the floor. Which was nice to see they appreciate the cruisers and don't put what they want out on the floor. If you are looking for an artist be sure to ask this team they will find what you are looking for. Ports Montego bay; Grand Cayman; Cozumel Montego Bay there is nothing immediately off the ship. It is quite a walk to the downtown and the beach with the Markets. We decided to do an excursion through the ship as I wasn't sure if I would be left behind with the relaxed Jamaican attitude. Carnival will not leave you if you if you book through them there was a tour who came back late and the ship waited. River rafting and Beach Adventure. The River rafting was excellent had a great time not too physical. be sure to bring along some money to purchase drinks along the way. The Beach portion of the tour, I could have done without. We went to the Hard Rock Cafe Beach it was small and you had to pay extra for the use of chairs and umbrellas on the beach. It was a very small beach and a lot of Jelly fish were in that day. Good thing the beach visit was only an hour. Grand Cayman Lots of shopping right off the ship. We shopped till we dropped and enjoyed the day. Cozumel Again shops right off the ship. I have been to Cozumel before and should have done an exucursion here this time, to enjoy myself. And since this is a popular port with 6 ships in port. Excursions will book up. If you like the markets in Mexico then it wasn't a bad day. Other then it was soooo hot. but, you can't control Mother Nature. Carnival Hub App This is a great way to quickly look up where to eat and the activites of the day. You can track your spending and book excursions. There is also a chat between cruisers for $5 per device. I do recommend downloading the App. (TIP) Read the Fun Times as well. As not all activities are on the App. For example The App stated check in to the Camp Ocean was at various times however, this was also for the older groups as well and I would not have had to go during dinner. I didn't know it referred to all the Kids Clubs. And some repetitive activites are not always on the App. They are getting better with the App and I suspect Carnival will go paperless soon however, it still needs some work. I avoided the Casino and activies near the casino as much as possible since it is the primary smoking area and I don't not enjoy the smell of smoke. Which is hard to do since it is in the middle of the ship. I found there were some ignorant smokers who were smoking practically everywhere. If you can believe one guy was smoking in the elevator. Another on the balcony. The ventilation on the 5th floor is not great and you do smell smoke around the Casino. Most portraits are in this area and I did not wish to be in Elegant dress and walk through smoke. Disembarking We had a late flight and wanted the latest possible time off. We enjoyed breakfast in the dinning room and waited up on the Lido deck until they called our number. The line moved with little wait and the whole process was less than 15 minutes. TIP: Pack a sweater/jacket as the air conditioning works very well on this ship. I often went outside to warm up. All and all my family and I enjoyed our vacation and will cruise again. Read Less

This cruiseline is severely mismanaged. Do not put your family's safety in their hands. I have never wanted to end a "vacation" or been so stressed in my life. Also, who wants to make reservations for ever turn of their cruise?! more stress. And no one knows anything and sends you down to guest services, extremely understaffed. Prepare to wait long lines and be stressed out. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, especially if you have children. My son did not want to return to the kids club because he reported that he did not feel welcomed or included by the staff. There is nothing for little ones to do. Oh wait, there is mini-golf and I found severe safety issues on that floor, where a toddler who is unattended for a minute could have easily gone overboard (a giant giant hole in the net, meant to keep everyone safe). The photography was subpar, no one made an effort ever - it's like the staff all hate their jobs and I get it because the management is awful. My family got stomach bugs at the end of the trip. The "complimentary" dining (i.e. not the specialty restaurants) are awful, the food is bland and no where near the customer service that I am used to from other cruiselines and ships. I was on board during the Hurricane Dorian fiasco and trust me that they will be sued by people for their mismanagement. We were all told we were staying in Mexico an extra day, but the captain changed his mind to go straight to Miami...then we are almost there and the Port closes, so he decides to stay at sea for three or more days, and when he realizes that isn't the brightest idea since there is a hurricane approaching, he finally decides to go to New Orleans. We got our flights rebooked by NCL, delivered to us at 11pm the night before disembarkation. They wanted to keep us in New Orleans which was unacceptable to us, so I had to fight for 5 hours on the phone - Guest Services did nothing, they just sent me to NCL corporate and told me I had to pay $5/minute to speak with them! NCL corporate office , in any event, was closed. Oh yeah, and our luggage tags arrived at 1am. someone actually knocked on my door at that time to tell me to have my luggage out by 3am. The audacity. The mismanagement. The complete opposite of a vacation. Save your money. They also nickel and dime everything everything everything and I was charged $75 for a phone call that I did not make and had to fight that, stay vigilant of your bill! And why can't they provide any sort of valued television programming?! It's all crap, no selection. Just like their food at the complimentary restaurants...they push you to eat at specialty. Also the pool area was dirty and the common areas were no where near as impressive as other cruise ships - who puts a casino in the middle of everything - i smelled like SMOKE every night!!!! Such a bad cruise!!!! Read Less

A bit of background: DH and I love to cruise. We are 54 and 57--kids are grown and we are pretty low maintenance. We have taken our last few cruises with our granddaughter who loves to cruise, but she started kindergarten this year so couldn't come along--she wasn't happy we left her! Because of our work schedules, this week worked well for us. We have been on many cruises and have sailed Holland America, NCL, RCCL, Costa and Carnival. We have been fairly loyal to Royal and this was our first cruise as Diamond level. We don't particularly care for leaving out of Galveston; as Fort Lauderdale and Miami are much more organized. I thought the service and staff were excellent on this ship. The only downgrade for the cruise was just the cuts they are making across the board to help control costs and feed their bottom line. I appreciate them keeping cruising affordable, but overall I will say that we have had a better impression with NCL the last few years than Royal. That being said, I will go where I can get the most value for my money and what fits in our schedule. We have been to most of the islands so itinerary is not as important to us in the Caribbean. We decided to take a last minute cruise on a comp from the casino. Booked about 6 weeks out. We were in a balcony cabin 7628. Cabin was fine and no complaints. Plenty of room for 2 people. We were on Liberty last November and vowed that we wouldn't sail out of Galveston again since the disembarkation was horrible the last 2 cruises out of there. But, since we live in Kansas we can drive to Galveston and save on airfare so we booked. We originally had thought of going to the Bahamas for a land vacation...glad we didn't as Dorian would have changed our plans! Reminder to everyone to always have insurance just in case! We went to the Diamond Lounge for the first night and never went back. So crowded and not worth the time since you can get drinks at any bar. We ate breakfast every morning in the Windjammer. Food was good, hot and plentiful. We are early risers and so there was never a problem with crowds. We did try and eat 1 dinner in the Windjammer and it really wasn't good at all so we ate all our other dinners in the main dining room. They have really cut back on the menu items over the years! Still plenty of selection and the food was good...not great, but overall good. We had MTD and never waited more than 5 minutes for our table for 2. Bryann and Ryan were our wait staff and they were outstanding! We don't really enjoy the specialty restaurants; we have tried them a few times, but don't really see the value when there are plenty of other options. We went to a couple of the comedy shows which were good. We had already seen the production show and ice show last fall so we didn't repeat them. There were lots of trivia and games available for those who like those activities. We went to the pool a couple of days, but it was pretty crowded. The solarium was not as relaxing as I would have hoped. We hadn't used it before on our last few cruises as we had our GD with us. There were groups and it was rather noisy. I was not a fan of the cruise director, but I don't really care who the cruise director is on board. They don't make or break a cruise for me. We cruise to relax. I enjoy spending time napping and reading. DH likes to wander around and see some of the activities so cruising works well for us! Our only complaint on this cruise was the air conditioning wasn't working well in the casino and even the promenade and theater tended to be on the warm side. I know the casino even went so far as to set up fans to help keep the air circulating. Not pleasant at all! At least it wasn't a problem in our cabin. One of people we went with on an excursion said their air conditioner wasn't working in their cabin very well either. Not good in the Caribbean with all the humidity! Our stops were Cozumel; which we usually love, but decided just to wander around that day and get back on the ship since we had never spent a day on the ship while everyone was in port before. Grand Cayman, where we got off the tender and took a $5 cab ride to 7 mile beach and went to Royal Beach Club. Get there early if you want a chair! Falmouth Jamaica where we booked the walking food tour on found on Trip Adviser. Highly recommend this tour! The last time we waited for an assigned disembarkation time and didn't get off the ship until almost 11am. It was chaos and one of the main reasons we decided we never wanted to sail out of Galveston again. This time we did self assist and were off by 07:45 and in our car by 8:00. So much better! I wasn't precisely sure what to expect and it was a bit of a mixed bag. Service for the most part was outstanding. Pearl in housekeeping was great and most of our wait staff were terrific( Francisca in Manhatten and waiter in Le Bistro). Bartending was hit and miss and people tended to just walk up and order though I had been waiting. Food was good, some better than others but I have to really commend all of them for catering to my Vegan diet!! I had such good food that my traveling mates were jealous and said they were going to go vegan so they too could be treated like a queen! The room was spotless and we loved the extended balcony and spent a lot of time there. The morning coffee delivery was an unexpected treat and I had a glass of wine on the balcony at night. LOVED the 6th floor outdoor space and dubbed it "the quiet place". Great for readying, napping, relaxing. I liked the Spice area and that it was adult only. We encountered issues due to the hurricane and for the most part those were well handled or at least as well as could be expected. I liked the day spent at Harvest Caye. The pool situation, in my opinion, is very inadequate and we never got near the pool on board. It is just WAY too small for 4000 people and it is basically the only pool. I see other ships have 17 pools and probably, we would look for that if we sailed again. One adult pool that isn't all that big just doesn't cut it. I was looking forward to pool time and that never happened. The gym is decent but early mornings it was totally full. Not sure how that could be improved really without dedicating more space. We booked the free at sea deal and Norwegian handled our flight arrangements which was a Godsend once things had to be rerouted. We didn't have to do a thing! They handled ours expertly. Would I go again?? Well… maybe and maybe not. It's crowded and loud and a little too "people" for my tastes but overall I had a good trip and liked visiting other countries. We were well cared for through the storm and had "bonus" days on our vacay for free so I'm certainly not complaining. Issues with key cards that I still don't totally comprehend but it was super inconvenient and annoying. Smoking in the casinos left a little to be desired in areas where it wafted. I did the vodka ice bar and that was worthwhile just for the experience. Like I said... for the right price I MIGHT book again but... the jury is still out on that..... Read Less

Because of Hurricane Dorian, we were unable to return to the port of Miami so there were several changes at the end that wound up putting us in New Orleans two days after we were supposed to dock in Miami. Norwegian paid for a hotel and booked us in a flight home the next day. When circumstances change like this it’s hard to make people happy but I think they did an excellent job. They kept us safely far away from the storm, had plenty of food and drinks to keep the party going, and we got an extra 3 days of vacation at no cost! I would sail Norwegian again with no hesitation. The dining and entertainment on board were both superior and the excursions we booked were amazing. The crew was friendly and we enjoyed all the activities offered. My children loved the ropes course. The pools were usually quite crowded but I think that is to be expected and we still found times to enjoy them when we had free time on port days. I can honestly say this was the best family vacation we have ever had. Read Less

I know everyone is entitled to their opinions and so I always read reviews with an open mind and then I like to go back and give my experience based on my travels with the cruise line. This was our 9th Carnival Cruise. To be honest we are 15 days away from Platinum so that is our goal. Embarkation was swift and easy. This was our first VIP entrance since we were staying in a suite - and it was truly faster - but then again Carnival has made strides in improving and making this process as quick as it possible. Once on the boat - our room 7312 was ready at 1:30 as told to us inside the terminal. Our bags made it quickly to our room also. We did not buy the Drink Package (alcohol) we prefer to smuggle in Rum Runners. We did buy one over priced six pack of Sprite and Coke for mixers and a 4 pack of beer - also overpriced but a little cheaper pre-cruise. I would suggest buying and paying for as much as possible before a cruise. Tends to be cheaper and less of a bill at the end. The Internet and hub worked just fine and was quicker than experience last year on different ship. Much better and we shared on social for the adults and a basic for the two teenagers, again purchased prior to leaving. The ship was nice. It has three small pools. So we always sat between the two pools on deck 9/10. Plenty, plenty of chairs to be had by all. You should remember their is a set of stairs in Vincent's bar which leads up to the walkway where the photos are taken and you can get to the piano bar and pixels too. We watched a video on YouTube on our exact room and some tips on navigating the ship and from their it was easy. Quick to navigate in a day or two. Food was good. They repeat the menu every week so they have it down to a science. Now you can get a molting chocolate cake for the whole table if you want. Where improvements have been made are on the sit down breakfasts and the "sea day brunch". Both were fabulous to us - since we can recall the days the sit down was the same as the buffet food wise. The bagel tower and the 24 hr French toast to die for. Entertainment was good. Fun Squad was great too. We choose to interact, greet others with a smile and become a part of the cruise family for the week. Robbie, Ritchie and Jake were real, real good and funny and you could have a blast if you wanted. Don't be afraid to join them - the payoff is rich in kindness and stewardship of the cruise world and passion of the fun-ship. It truly is part of the experience. We went to Grand Cayman - did our own thing at Eden Rock and Smith Cove. Amber Cove was nice but the country is so poor looking. Belize City was again nice and the pier was great.. lots of fun things to do right there. The last tender was not good at all - took nearly and hour and a half to leave and get back on boat. Way too long. Disembarkation - piece of cake, we were in a suite so you get to leave early -but what was bad was the terminal - they had all zones of luggage kind of thrown together at some point. Not a big fan of that since with the conveyors they had made the process better.. but someone just started moving luggage cause the terminal got backed up. The cruise ship itself did a bad job keeping us posted on Hurricane Dorian. It did not affect our trip on the boat - I understand - but for some it affects/affected their lives - so they could have been more open. In closing - the ship was nice. I do not think it needs to be overhauled and updated. Staff was great and it was a good trip and vacation. In my opinion a litte homework ahead of time goes a long way in enjoying a trip. Peace and safe travels. Read Less

So to first begin our room was not set up like we asked for. There was no menu for room service or pen to write down breakfast room service. No complementary water in our rooms either. The staff are not nearly as talkative or friendly as they were on the Victory! Internet did not work on my husbands phone that we paid for. The fun shops should be renamed dud shops. They had nothing no shot glasses or cool keepsakes, nor cool toys for kids. The children’s activities are done later in the evening during most kids nap times. The food was extremely bland my two year old loves pizza but hated the pizza on the ship. The cruise director Kevin was annoying he tried way to hard to be friendly and liked that it was annoying to hear him. There was no music ever on the lido deck no one was dancing. The play area for kids is completely unsafe and none of the toys were bolted down! Not the ship for me! If you go carnival stick with the ship you love! Read Less

My wife and I went on the Enchantment out of Galveston with our adult children. Boarding in Galveston was extremely easy. Our sea passes were scanned and we were cleared to board. The room key/set sail cards were already in our cabins. Eventhough the ship is older it is well maintained and appears to have been updated recently. We all had inside cabins on deck 3. Our attendant was nice and we were happy with him. The cabins were quiet. My only complaint is that the room safe locked with the sea pass card not a pin code. That meant either my wife or I had to open the safe with the card that locked it. On other cruises we enjoy hanging out in the solarium. On this ship, the solarium is enclosed which means it is especially hot and humid. The entertainement was great especially the comedians. In terms of food service, The food in the Windjammer was typical and it did seem more crowded than the larger ships for breakfast and lunch. We never had difficulty finding a table for 5. The cafe in the Solarium always had a line, sometimes long. They seemed to run out of pizza quickly and there was usually a wait. Dining room food was typical. Our waiter was outstanding and went above and beyond! We did purchase an upgrade for surf and turf at a discount which was excellent. Speaking of extras, one annoying thing is the constant selling of extras by the head waiter. We are Diamond members and enjoyed the Diamond club and Happy hour. Overall it was a great cruise! Did not see cruise director out on. Deck 11 at all in any entertainment! The food was anything to be excited about! The surf and turf night. The lobster was very over done and mushy. We had a emergency on board. whistle blew 3-4 times everyone that had a balcony on the even side saw nothing going on then we looked out our doors my floor very little spoke English between time of last whistle horn had to be at least 10 minutes befor a announcement I called front desk because no one on. Our floor was moving, 10 minutes is a lot befor u can get a answer at desk! The desk just said an emergency I asked if we had to go to Munster station! Had to be another 2 minutes befor something had been announced!!!! People we goin up deck 11 to see what was going on! The bathrooms on deck 10 balcony were extremely small with glass door! I had to open door to take shower and rinse off! It’s like a 3-3 closet! Some one who is 6’3 250 man could not move at all in shower! Chef doesn’t know how to make soup the clam chowder was like eating flower water the French onion soup was like eating gel with onions with a lite piece of toast on top! More vegetarian special should be added! Way of excursions complete disorganization! Everyone goes to a room for bus tickets. Get off and no one to direct u by the ship! U walk down long pier. Lots were confused because so many people going out at once!list passengers waiting time is to long to get off to faster gun on island! Read Less

This is an older ship, so does not have all of the bells and whistles of the newer ships, but it has that awesome vintage cruise vibe with lots of fun to be had and very relaxed atmosphere. Food was very good. Guy's Burgers awesome poolside on Lido deck, with no lines. Formal dining room service was excellent and food above average. Coffee bar on Promenade was delicious for specialty coffee and milkshakes. Casino slots loosest I have seen on a cruise. The only complaint I had was the super long wait at guest services. We chose this ship and our first MSC for the itinerary to Cuba only but as it got cancelled we decided to stay with the offer of onboard credit and make the most of it plus 11 in our party so dates and two nights in Miami made our minds up ! Ship was better than the reviews I had read, yes older but spotless and crew could not be faulted in any way, in fact best crew ever on any ship we have sailed on, friendly knew our names and smiling the whole cruise. Cabin was as expected small but clean, of course we prefer Celebrity but difference in price reflected that. You do get what you pay for in life! Food was adequate, dinner was better in the Pegola restaurant, we had that privilege as my parents were suite passengers, but buffet was quite disappointing with lack of salads etc and very repetitive but Pizza was best at sea, delicious and very Italian. We had the premium drink package but found the cocktails already made up using very sweet syrups but stuck mainly to wine and Grey Goose. If you want to party and love Spanish style music and heavy reggae in the nightclub then this is the ship for you, there were a few different music singers in the bars but in all the ship was very Latin based in the entertainment field which suited us most of the time as we were a party crowd but was very loud so think carefully if you prefer a more peaceful cruise. Done one excursion to the falls in Jamaica, ok but not great organization except our guide in the falls, we done all others ourselves by using local transport and taxis. Would we go with MSC again, yes but a newer ship, also embankment was the quickest ever, walked on very quickly which was a great surprise. Read Less

Spent the first three days on lines fixing problems, from charging us extra for drink we never ordered (even though we had a drink package) to the internet not working and their ncl app not recognizing my login, and constantly kicking me out of the app when I did manage to log into it. No functioning exhaust fans in either of our 2 rooms, so basically when someone went to the bathroom, you had to live with the smell for hours. To make matters worse, one of our rooms had a bathroom that had sewer gasses leaking into it and by the end of our 7 day cruise smelled so bad that we all started to use the bathroom in the other room. We notified them on the 3rd day but they never fixed the problem. Most restaurants and activities were already fully booked on the cruise before we even boarded the ship, so basically their freestyle dining requires you to tell the future and predict when and where you'll be everyday, without being able to see the itinerary until you actually board the ship. The drinks were severely watered down. My wife can't drink for anything, she has about 2 ounces of wine and gets giddy, yet she was able to drink 4 cocktails within an hour and not feel a thing. In fact, I switched to just beer, knowing that they can't water that down, and then I finally started to feel it myself. The internet package is a scam, they sell it by the minute, yet it's so slow it'll take you at least 10 minutes to log in to check your email. Plus if you forget to turn it off (yes you have to turn it on and off) it'll eat up all of your minutes even when you aren't using it. Constantly trying to con more money out of us. Carnival doesn't nickle and dime you like ncl does. EVERYTHING costs extra when you're on the ship. The itinerary was all based on getting more money out of you, there were hours of activities planned everyday that was about selling you lewelry, art, wat he's, future cruises etc, but no other alternatives, so basically there were chucks of time during the day were you were just bored, unless you felt like getting hustled. My 18 year old had NOTHING to do for a week, he was bored the entire time. The club went up to 17 years old and they strictly enforce that age limit, and the other club was geared towards older people, so he had no one to mingle with. The only interesting activities were late at night, but then the excursions started early in the morning, so basically you had to choose between missing out on something or being sleep deprived. The worst part was when we left the ship (apparently they have a reputation for this) when they got us off the ship, they couldn't care less what happened afterwards. They basically over crowded us on the dock and herded us in without any roped off lines or clear directions. Employees were constantly telling us and other people that we had to switch lines, the porters were yelling at ncl employees for not organizing all of us and blocking the aisles. People were shoving and cutting the lines and the employees did nothing to stop it. They even had us crossing through the crowd of people entering the ship as well. Read Less

We got to the port around noon and was disappointed to find a long line at security. It took about 30 minutes to get through the line. After getting on board, it took another 20 minutes to get through the line at the buffet. I guess we got there at the same time as everyone else, because after that there was no line. For the muster drill, they let you meet in different areas, but did not allocate enough space. Our number was in a small part of the dining room, and we were forced to stand all packed together. They now show you a cheesy video that takes a while. The ship itself is impressive, and there are lots more activities than other ships we've been on before. However, there are also long lines sometimes. For the pizza, for the elevators (which sometimes seem to take forever), the flow rider, the zip line, and even for My Time Dining at certain times. We've done My Time Dining in its different forms on 3 cruise lines, and had never had the issues we had on this ship. On the first night, they insisted on giving me a regular reservation time of 5:15 even though I made it clear to them that was too early and I wouldn't be able to make it most nights. Then, every night when we go there later, usually around 6-6:30, they would lecture us about coming earlier the next day. Every night they did this. It was really ruining our experience. On lobster night, they sent us to the main dining room on the 4th floor, which apparently was a complete surprise to our waiter. He and the woman who was told to take us up there had an odd conversation about what we were doing there (since this was about an hour into the early set dining time). He tried to be polite to us, but you could tell he didn't want us there. I really don't understand why the dining staff at the Harmony made My Time Dining so hard. The entire point is to be able to come when you want, yet they tried to make us feel guilty every day for doing just that. The waiters themselves were actually quite good and efficient. I was impressed by how quickly the dinner service went, typically about and hour and 15 minutes or so. While there were a lot of activities scheduled on the ship, the staff running them often seemed unprepared, confused, or just bad. They had a different person running the trivia each day, and that person typically couldn't pronounce the questions (or answers) correctly. We've gone to tons of trivia sessions on numerous ship and have never run into this problem before. We even witnessed an argument between a passenger and a crew member over whether one of the answers was correct. This was also a first. For one of the dance sessions, the guy started 10 minutes late and ended 10 minutes early, for a 30 minute session that was actually was only about 10 minutes (3 songs). The dance and fitness sessions held by Sergio were great though. He was really the only entertainment staff member who seemed to take his job seriously. Most of the rest of them seemed like they were just going through the motions (and poorly at that). The staff at the windjammer buffet and the other dining locations were very efficient though. They would take your plate and clear the tables as soon as humanly possible. On several occasions in the windjammer, we had RC employees stop to ask how everything was and if we were happy with everything. The food in the dining rooms was pretty good, but lacked variety. The fool at the windjammer wasn't so good, especially for breakfast. The eggs were runny, the bacon didn't taste right, and the waffles/pancakes didn't taste fresh. They didn't seem to push alcohol as much on this cruise, which we appreciated because we don't drink. The kids got a non-alcoholic drink from the robot arm. Why do they charge a service charge for a robot-made drink? We had an ocean view balcony cabin which was nice. Unfortunately, we had a 'service animal' in the room next to us. It was a little fluffy shih tzu which would bark periodically. I don't know what service a shih tzu provides besides keeping his owner company, but it didn't seem quite right on a cruise ship. We got guarantee cabins which turned out to be a mistake, because RC put our kids in a cabin very far away from our cabin. We were given our cabin as soon as we booked, 4 months out, but our kids weren't given theirs until 2 weeks before sailing. We won't be booking a guarantee again. We had reservations for most of the shows, but that turned out to be unnecessary except for the first night (Grease) and the water show, which was always packed. Grease was inappropriate for children. The water show was impressive, but ours was cancelled halfway through due to the rain. The ice skating show was boring - our kids all left about 15 minutes in. The comedians they had were ok, not great. The kids enjoyed the juggler/comedian. We paid for the all digital photo package, which is $310 onboard, but they give you a $30 discount if you buy it within the first 2 days on the ship (it was only $250 online before the cruise). We got 300+ photos taken, and at least 100 of those were good ones - we even had them take individual photos of the kids - so we got our money's worth. Their photo kiosks only work during certain hours when manned by their photographers. That was annoying. After paying for the package, I was given a website I could go to to see all the photos I purchased. It didn't work that well, but they said it was still in the testing phase. Disembarkation was the smoothest we'd ever experienced. We were allowed to stay in our room until our number was called, immigration only took a minute as they do facial recognition now from the passports, and were walked right out of there with no wait. I have been on 7 cruises on different lines and this was my first NCL experience. The reason I chose this line is because of the free airfare, free adult beverage package, free soda package and free 250 minutes of Wi-Fi. The embarkation process was great. You did not have to wait long to be processed and get onboard. I think if this was my first cruise ever, I may have been more impressed but there were certain things that I just did not like. We did not meet our cabin steward until the last night which was very odd because when we would go on Royal they would introduce themselves the first day and ask you about your preferences with the room. The Garden Grill which had the buffet was strangely laid out. Everything was in a long line which made it difficult to get around the crowds when getting breakfast. We liked to eat dinner in The Manhattan Room which was so beautiful. There was music every night and couples dancing during dinner. The food was good and some nights it was exceptional. We did have dinner 2 nights in Taste and Savor because we did not want to get dressed up and they will allow you to wear shorts (The Manhattan Room will not). We made a reservation at Shanghai Noodle Bar for one night and it was well worth it! Food was amazing and the staff was super friendly. We had 4 ports and 4 shore excursions. In Roatan we went on the Jolly Roger catamaran snorkeling and it was the best excursion of our trip! Not only was the snorkeling great but the crew made the trip very fun and the lunch was tasty. In Belize we went snorkeling again and was very disappointed based on what we had encountered the day before. The boat was very small to hold the 45 people they squeezed onboard. In Costa Maya we did the Segway tour which was a lot of fun and we got to relax on the beach for a short period of time. Our last excursion was Playa Mia beach. Very relaxing which was needed after the active days we had prior. The drink prices are overwhelming with a can of coke at $4.00. I traveled with 2 16 year old (boy and girl) and they enjoyed the cruise but were not into the teen club so they would walk around trying to find things to do. My son would go to the basketball court but was not too fond of it because the net was tilted forward and with the wind, he would take a shot and it would go sideways. Disembarkation is what it is on all cruise lines. You wait around forever for Customs to clear the ship and then everyone rushes to get to buses and taxis to get to the airport. Overall: The ship looked dated. The staff was average. The ports and excursions were good. The food was good. The cabins were clean. Next cruise, I will go back to Royal Caribbean! Read Less

I have been on many carnival cruises, royal Caribbean cruises and Norweign cruises. Pros of the Horizon: Italian specialty restaurant, food was spectacular. Dining staff was great, as was the whole crew staff. Good movie selections in cabin. Cons: Low ceilings throughout ship. Atrium small with generic decor. No windows and sitting area to just sit and gaze outside to look at ocean and just watch people walking by (very confining). No band and dance area in casino like they have on other carnival ships. Casino is small with poor layout. "Smart Elevator" system was terrible extremely long waiting time. Floors are very slick on lido deck. Lunch buffet horrendous. You will be eating a lot of Guy hamburgers, pizza and deli selections. I was never informed of the "Family Harbor" section of the ship so if you decide to go on this ship inquire about the Family Harbor. No pool in the serenity area. The entertainment was amateur hour. There are much better carnival ships just remember the newer the ship does not mean it's better. Read Less
