It is June 2019, and we are aboard the Equinox. We're happy. This is the fifth time in a row (2015 to 2019) and we're booked for November. It takes 10 X 1 week cruises or 5 X 2 week cruises to get Elite status. We get good perks with Elite. The ship was just redone top to bottom. The food is something for everyone. We eat for health, but there is lots of meat, poultry, eggs, desserts, and all the rest. They have "Las Vegas" desserts that look better than they are. Paying $50 each to eat in a specialty restaurant is ridiculous. The buffet is ideal for breakfast and lunch. The MDR is great for dinner. Service is wonderful, and food very good. Not excellent, but very, very good food. The ONLY issue we had was weak Internet. Spotty and weak. Staff can't do enough for you. We always get a balcony cabin. You know the ports before you leave, and should investigate them. The excursions are always puffed up and overpriced on any ship. That's a fact. Drinks are expensive, but they offer two out of four free "packages". Internet/drinks/gratuities/onboard credit. Stunning gym. I live in the local gym at home. We only paid $250 a day per person for a 5.5 star ship, which is ridiculously cheap. The problem is that this attracts riff raff. Don't blame Celebrity for that. There are very few 5.5 star ships (Viking, Azamara, Celebrity), and the rest are $400 a day per person and up. All the 6.0 star ships (Regent, Crystal, Gauguin, Seabourne, Oceania) are overpriced ripoffs. You pay a fortune and get LESS. Seriously, insane prices of $500 to $1,000 a day (discount) per person and you get less, not more. They have all failed. The 5.0 star ships like Princess and Holland America just don't cut it. Too much trailer trash and just not enough quality. We don't bother with the entertainment, and bring TV recordings on our tablet. We simply get more with Celebrity and the Equinox. We're happy. and we're hard to please. Read Less

Was really looking forward to our Celebrity Equinox cruise for months. We booked Concierge Class based on all the "perks" that were offered. First one priority check in, did not exist. We checked in with everyone else as there was no other option. When Suite class, Captains Club and Concierge Class were called for priority boarding every passenger boarded at the same time regardless of class. Never saw the following which was included in the Concierge Class price, no sparkling wine to be found, no priority luggage delivery (our luggage was received 5 hours after we boarded), our veranda had the same seating as every other veranda so not sure what was meant by lounge seating. Afternoon "delights" were unappetizing. Our stateroom attendant was no where to be found and we twice had to locate help to procure toilet paper that was never replaced. Beds were very comfortable but there was an awful smell coming from the headboard requiring us to constantly Lysol to alleviate the nauseating odor. Lastly, no priority tender service which was ok as it didn't take long to disembark at the port. The MDR food was not good, we had an 8:30 seating and thought maybe we got the leftovers from the 6:00 dinner. Only went there twice and ate at the Oceanview Buffet for dinner the other nights. Unless you want to pay even more money for a specialty restaurant the buffet was the only other choice, with no variety, mediocre food at best but not acceptable on a cruise that you're paying thousands for. Overall staff was unfriendly and it was as if we were bothering them to even ask for a bottle of water. We loved our shore excursions but trying to figure out where we were supposed to go was daunting as everything seemed very unorganized. There were two people at one table directing every shore excursion guest on where to go, we almost missed our excursion after waiting in that line for 30 minutes. Entertainment was average at best with limited production value. There was a lot of talent but the shows left a lot to be desired. I do not understand all the good reviews for this cruise but maybe we were just unlucky or others have not been fortunate enough to have experienced the stellar service that NCL and Royal Caribbean have to offer. Concierge did offer us a $200/per person credit for a future cruise, which is the same as giving us nothing because we will never travel on Celebrity again. Read Less

We have cruised a lot and I must say Celebrity did not put their best foot forward. Cabin Steward was great, room good but after that FAIR is the best I can say. Although the Cruise Director Thanks everyone for Their energy in every other sentence there was NO energy from the staff or crew. Starting with the lifeboat drill, it was long drawn out and some STUPID video of some James Bond type of scenes were played which made no sense and took up more time from an already disorganized drill. I tired to cut them some slack since the ship just came out of dry dock and maybe the crew was not in sync but from there it got worse. First night dinning was horrible. I am NOT a picky eater but went with just a plain sirloin steak to make it simple. The first was uneatable almost raw, second had fat and grissel all thru it and I finally just ate around a third try since we had been there over on hour and a half, not because of my sending back food but just terrible service. OK first night out of dry dock I tried to understand. Second night not many choices and the special was a steak so gave it a shot. No good, just poor cuts of cheap meat. Switched to Chicken Palm, just ok. The third night we just went to the buffet and after cruising for years this was the first time we ever had to do that. Food was good and we had choices. The lobster night was good and final night we just went with Turkey so we ended OK. Entertainment was just fair. First night show was typical, comedian the second was very good and clean material. Beatles group was good but I must say the Frankie Valle group although voices were good their routine was silly and juvenile. They acted like school kids, VERY unprofessional. The music at the pool on sea days was ridiculously LOUD and on two of the days people had to get up and find officers to have the DJ turn it down. BAD form, bad oversight. Captains club party was nice, Capt. Kate spoke well but officers just stood around and never even said hello. No energy and courtesy. To end the cruise, the walk off departure was long and disorganized. We waited a long time to start moving and the room to gather in was not big enough for the long line. You would think by now the Cruise line would know that more and more people want to walk off so they would choose a gathering place big enough to accommodate a large group where the line doesn’t jam since there is not enough room. Poor planning. In my opinion Celebrity has slipped a great deal and it will be a long time before we try them again. We have cruised recently on MSC and find them head and shoulders above Celebrity in every way. Call me VERY disappointed ! Read Less
