My husband and I booked a cruise for our honeymoon. I wanted to go to Bermuda and I was thrilled to find out we would stay for 3 days. The ship was huge and I think too big and over crowded. We found this out trying to reserve a seat for shows and for the specialty restaurants; all booked for the week and we were on the ship the first night . The pool was always packed and deck chairs never available. The adult pool was tiny for the amount of people and the average size of the people; who were enormous. The hot tubs filled with people who never left. The lines for the water slides and the Rope course am hour minimum. The kid pool was closed down one day because someone defected in it. Too many people and too much garbage and dirty glasses and unbelievable poor manners of these people . Dirty feet on tables and furniture, waking around wet with no pants and shirtless men. This is the “people of Walmart” cruise. Trashy. People passing in public. Disgusting. The 3 restaurants; the Manhattan, the Taste and the Savor were included and the food was garbage . Rubbery chicken, over cooked meat, mashed potatoes that taste like cardboard and everything salty . By day 2 everyone was bloated and packed on like sardines . Every minute the crew tries to upsell you if you do a facial or massage; they try to get you to get the more expensive or to do acupuncture or Botox or an activity is extra for example Deal or no desk $25 for a card, painting is $35 to participate. We booked a massage and the therapist tried to up sell us to do a more expensive massage then told us to buy $179 Epsom salt and a $67 brush . Not relaxing at all because they don’t shut up either to try to get you to give up more money or to insult you . During my facial I was told i should get Botox. I really do mod want some ocean doctor standing botulism into my face ! Bermuda was good but do not buy any excursions on board because it’s $70 more than waking to the island tour center , take the bus for $2.75 not a taxi for $43 or a shared bus for $7.00. The ferry is ok but infested with roaches. Everyone off the ship is trying to separate you from you money as well so be careful . This vacation was absolutely horrible. The filipino crew will give you nightmares with the way the say “ goooood moooorniiing” and the stupid “washy washy”. Never cruising again . Norwegian ruined cruises forever . Read Less

This was more or less an impromptu cruise for my wife and I. When I say "impromptu" I mean we didn't book it a year in advance, we booked it about 70 days out (I'm a planner-type person so this was scary). Overall, it was a great trip and Bermuda was beautiful as always. Embarkation went well. After much deliberation, we chose to park at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal lot for $40/day, or 280 for the cruise. We arrived about 11am and within 30 minutes of turning off the car engine, we standing on the ship. We found the vast majority of the staff to be friendly and helpful. The Main Dining Room staff were helpful and accommodating, but just didn't seem to have the candor and smiles we found on the bar staff and our room steward. We had a couple of minor flubbs in the MDR but nothing insurmountable. Two nights in a row my wife got a chicken dish that was either overcooked and tough, or in the case of the chicken piccata, it tasted like eggs to her. The asian-style dishes were very good, and I didn't have a steak that wasn't tender, juicy, and delicious. However, overall we found the choices in the complementary food venues to be underwhelming and uninspired. What was available was overall tasty and we are not foodies or anything, but we like to try some new things and new combinations of ingredients when cruising. The public areas were too, too small. Forget a dip in the pool on the sea days, you can barely get close enough to it much less get in. The hot tubs were lukewarm and almost constantly full anyway. We don't mind kids, but there the hot tubs were mostly full of them being left unattended while mom and dad sat at the bar or sunned themselves. Spice H2O was a little better, but no pool and the last sea day the exhaust from the stack was blowing over the spice area and people were getting covered with little droplets of a black soot/oil substance. We did not experience that on the way down simply because we were double-timing back from Bermuda. We arrived in New York around 1-2am, rather than the customary 5-6am and just sat in port like the Captain had a hot date or something. Slowing down would have probably alleviated this issue. The atrium shows were fine as long as you got in early. We're not too much in the way of show people so we didn't bother with the shows and such. Fortunately we got a great deal on an upgrade to a spa balcony via the bidding system so we were able to use the excellent thermal suite to soak and swim in the therapy pool. We enjoyed this immensely and spent time in every room - the saunarium, sauna, steam room, cold room, and salt room as well as using the heated lounges, therapy pool, and small hot tub. As we have previously visited Bermuda, we chose to go to Horseshoe Bay the first day and I had booked a Resort for a Day with The Elbow Beach Resort prior to embarking. Horseshoe Bay was very, very crowded, so we just dropped our stuff and jumped in the water for a bit. We took the bus to get there and hopped a minibus to get back (so we didn't have to climb the hill). So it was about $12 round trip. To get to Elbow Bay we took a cab from the pier for about $50. Expensive, but our driver was super friendly and gave us a little tour on the way. We chatted about life on the island and learned a great deal about Bermuda on the way. We thought it was worth it. On the way back, we got lucky and managed to hitch a ride on a minibus with a fellow who was going to Hamilton and then agreed to take 6 of us back to the port for $8 per person. He also gave us a tour and took us along some of the back roads back, so we got to see parts of Bermuda that a lot of tourists don't see, so that was neat. The third day we just puttered around the dockyard and bought souvenirs and such. Overall, we found the locals to be very pleasant and helpful. Read Less

Generally the ship was nice and clean. The food was above average. Entertainment was very good. Staff was courteous and always helpful. Biggest problem with ship is the swimming pool situation and no real adult area. That makes this ship a very poor choice for me and most adults I know. Hard to believe whoever designed this ship missed on this one. First time i cruised Norwegian, but I will need to check ship out in more detail before I cruise with them again. The agent I booked with said there was an adult pool and area. He was correct, but the pool was tiny, there was only one adult hot tub and there were kids all over the place. Also, whats the point of having a small pool and the entire thing is 6'8" deep. everyone was hanging on the sides because no one like treading water in the middle when you are trying to relax and talk to friends. design people really messed up big time. I was not the only one complaining. It seemed to be what many people talked about everyday. Variety of bars was great, but usually difficult to get a drink. What makes it worse is paying for the drink package and spending half you time trying to get drinks just to get your moneys worth. Also for the price you pay for drink package, they should have bottled water. Very poor! Agent told me they did have bottled water with package, but was wrong. Very disappointed, as i am a water drinker more than an alcohol drinker. I had to spend money to buy bottled water. Read Less
