I was looking for a quick last-minute mini-break, so this 4 day cruise was ideal and priced right for me, a single traveler from the New York area. One day at sea - one day in Bermuda - one day at sea. There was some confusion about boarding times by those who booked early, but that didn't affect me, since I booked a few days prior to sailing. I walked onto the ship with no wait. However, this was likely due to the fact that the ship had no passengers to disembark upon arrival. Norwegian sells hard from the moment you get on board. Nearly everything is at an upgrade and added fee. If that makes you feel ill-at-ease, this is not the line for you. The staff is courteous and efficient, but due to the large numbers, there's always one or two still training and inexperienced. The Getaway is a very large ship and when fully booked (4,000 passengers) it can be chaotic - especially during the 'muster' / boat drill. The ship also attracts many non-English speaking people which can sometimes cause confusion and conflict due to the lack of communication possible. This is a fact, not a problem. Patience is needed at all times on a big ship like this. For first timers to Bermuda, I highly recommend the bus tour of the full island. It takes five hours and visits St. George and Hamilton and everything in between. Guides / drivers are knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. I wish it were not raining nearly the whole time, but this is in mother nature's hands, so we made the best of it. My only complaint is that since it was an atypical trip length, there were all sorts of omissions and errors, especially in the Freestyle Daily newsletter. A happy mistake was that they charged us too much for port taxes and refunded them in onboard credit. The ship docked in Bermuda and it was 45 minutes before the first announcement about the arrival - and that was to inform us that the ship was not yet cleared. When a ship arrives - an announcement of status should be made immediately to avoid confusion. Read Less

Did the same cruise in Oct. 2018 when Hurricane Michael messed with our stops. Got a great casino deal so we tried it again. We had a morning flight into FLL, shuttle took us to ship arrived about noon and literally walked right on. Great timing. We had bid on upgrade and received ocean view 48 hours prior to cruising for 75.00 pp. This room had plenty of space compared to IS cabins. It was on deck 5 under the side of theatre, only noise we heard was the ship going in or out of ports, I assume the ropes etc. My few complaints were: the entertainment, now many times can you see the same comedians with the same material? So we saw two different acts and that was enough. The beds were very hard :( and need to view the tv channels for people who want to relax in the cabin. Chair hogs were in full force, my DH kept saying move their stuff. I didn't it isn't worth the trouble of an argument. Harvest Cay was much better than I expected. Very large pool, close beach and plenty of chairs and not to far from the ship. So far this the closest to Disneys Castaway Island as Ive seen. Except nothing is included in the cruise fare on the island, drinks, food and zip lines etc. Million Dollar Quartet is great! saw it on the last sailing twice. Service was GREAT! we had some of the best DR servers in the Tropicana Room. Overall I would say very good for the price and close for the cruise itself. Read Less

This was our first cruise and let me tell you everything blew our minds. I had read lot of reviews that we some what negative. I was a bit skeptic since this was our first ever cruise and lot of people their share of experience. I also did love the positive reviews that made me just look at the goodness. And mind you I didn't had to force myself to see the goodness or positivity, everything was just amazing. A BIG Shout out to all those hardworking cruise members!!!!!!!!! YOU ALL ARE AMAZING! The ship, cabin, dinning, entertainment, services that they provided was just amazing. I can't stop talking about how well we were taken care of and how much fun we had. BEST FOOD! my parents prefer Indian food and NCL provided that for breakfast, lunch and dinner. That was just a dream. We did not buy any fancy package but we didn't feel we missed out on anything at all. I couldn't believe how much activities they had on board. Yes, they would have to close certain things due to the weather or wind but that totally fine. I got to do them on other days. Entertainment was really good! All in all we all loved and thoroughly enjoyed our first cruise and can't wait to book another one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read Less
